Hunt Showdown Update 1.17 January 25 Initiated for DLCs

Crytek has taken the live servers of Hunt Showdown offline today and that’s to roll out new DLC for the shooter! The Hunt Showdown update 1.17 January 25 patch has been released and it’s for cosmetic bundles. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t seem like there are any gameplay-related fixes or changes.

Fortnite Changes Social Media Icon and Photo, Teases Something for “Drift” & “Fox Clan” (Update)

Epic Games is about to launch something big for Fortnite, as the official Fortnite Twitter account that has over 12 million followers has today changed its profile icon and banner picture, and even tweeted an obscure message hinting at a possible event of some sort.

Reliable Fortnite dataminer HYPEX has said that the “Drift” crew skin is teased on the left:

It looks like the announcements for the day aren’t done, so we’ll continually be updating the post as more developments unfold. Chances are, this leads to something big which we’re hoping applies to not only Fortnite Battle Royale but for Fortnite’s Save the World mode too.

Chances are, the Fortnite Instagram and Facebook pages will be updated within the day, and we’ll keep an eye out for those too.

Update: Epic has reverted the changes made. Not sure if this is part of their marketing gimmick or that’s it for the tease. Could it be just for the Drift skin? If so, that’s a whole lotta hype for something minimal. Here’s to hoping there’s more to it.

Destiny 2 Prismatic Recaster Changes, Gilded Titles Announced

It’s a case of something old is new again in Destiny 2 as Bungie has announced quite a few “new” stuff that’s coming to the game and then some. Chief among them are Destiny 2 Prismatic Recaster changes, Titles, and more.

In the latest weekly blog post by Bungie, the studio announced that Umbral Engrams are back as well as the Prismatic Recaster though with some changes.

Back in 2020, Season of Arrivals introduced a new feature called Umbral Engrams which allowed Guardians to Focus rewards to the type of weapons and armor rolls they most desired. The system was well-received by the community so we decided to do a little tuning and bring them back for Season 13 as well as future seasons in Year 4.
While the new Seasonal activity will always provide the fastest path to earning new rewards. We want to ensure that regardless of how you spend your time in Destiny, Umbral Engrams allow you to chase new rewards.
Similar to Season of Arrivals, Umbral Engrams will drop from completing a variety of content. We have pared back the number of activities they will drop from so you can focus on the following activities if you are looking to farm some Umbral Engrams:
  • Patrols
  • Strikes
  • Crucible
  • Gambit
  • The Ordeal
  • Public Events
  • Blind Well
  • Nightmare Hunts
  • Exo Challenges
  • Empire Hunts
  • New Seasonal Activity
Note: Umbral Engrams also have a chance to drop from defeating enemies anywhere in the game, so even if you’re not grinding this list of activities and playlists, you’ll still be earning some Umbral Engrams.
You may notice fewer umbral engrams sitting in your inventory than before.  While it was fun to watch umbral engrams rain down on players in season 11, the drop rates were higher than expected and so we are rebalancing the drop rate.
There will be a short quest to show players how to use the new Prismatic Recaster (read more about this below) to Focus Umbral Engrams. This quest is account-wide so you only have to do it once.

PRISMATIC RECASTER 

The Prismatic Recaster returns as a kiosk with the capability to change Umbral Engrams into Focused Umbral Engrams, which contain a smaller loot-table. Because Umbral Engrams are here to stay, the new Recaster will have different pages for each Season, and you will be able to Focus engrams to the Season of your choice.
Once you have used the Prismatic Recaster to Focus your Engram, you will still need to take it to the Umbral Decoder to claim your new reward!
Note: Season of the Hunt’s Wrathborn rewards will not be featured on the Prismatic Recaster in Season 13, because players can still use the Wrathborn Lure to chase specific weapons and rolls.

PRISMATIC LENS 

We have a new way to unlock different Focusing options for your Umbral Engrams through a new reward called Prismatic Lenses.
A Prismatic Lens will unlock a new Focusing option so you can:
  • Target a narrower collection of gear.
  • Target specific armor stats.
You will be able to earn Prismatic Lenses by doing various activities in the game and you can track your progress towards unlocking lenses at the Prismatic Recaster. We don’t want to spoil everything though – so we’ll let you discover how to start earning these in Season 13.
Another thing the studio announced is how Titles are changing in Destiny 2, which gives players another way to flex how awesome they are in the game to fellow guardians.

TITLES – A GILDED AGE 

We wanted to share a change coming to Seals and Titles in Season 13. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, we’ve been shipping a Flawless and Conqueror Title each of the last three Seasons. We liked the idea of reengaging with Titles Season over Season, but we don’t like the challenge and time commitment of doing the entire thing every Season. So, it’s time to make a change!
As always, we start with the goals:
    • Allow players to show off their engagement with the core rituals season over Season.
    • Preserve the value of earning the base Title.
    • Decrease the amount of grind required Season over Season for players that want to earn them all.
Starting with season 13, if a player has completed the Seal for one of our core ritual Titles (Unbroken, Dredgen, Flawless, Conqueror), players will have a series of additional Seasonal objectives to gild that Title.
But wait, what does gilded mean? 
  • A series of Seasonal objectives to gild a core ritual Title.
  • A new border around the Seal in the Triumphs UI.
  • A pip tracking how many times in your career that you’ve gilded a given Title.
  • A new color and symbol for the Title over your head. So that you can show off, of course.
What do I have to do to gild a Title? 
Once you finish the base Seal and claim your hard-earned Title, a list of optional Seasonal objectives will be revealed. By completing these Seasonal objectives you’ll earn your gild for the Season.
What happens when the Season is over? 
Each Season, the optional gilding objectives will reset and may even change to fit the unique experiences of any given Season. All of the base objectives of the Title will be preserved, and your Title will revert to its typical purple coloring.
Which Titles will be affected? 
The four core rituals of Trials, The Ordeal, Crucible, and Gambit.
  • Flawless
  • Conqueror
  • Unbroken
  • Dredgen

Tony Hawk Studio Vicarious Visions Absored Into Blizzard to Work on Diablo 2 Remake

It looks like Blizzard Entertainment is getting a whole lot beefier, as a recent report has surfaced stating that Vicarious Visions (Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2) has been absored by the company, and what’s more, it’s working on a Diablo 2 Remake!

This recent report comes from Bloomberg, which states that until last year, the Diablo 2 Remake was set to be developed by Blizzard’s Team 1, which is part of Blizzard’s Irvine, California campus. Team 1’s latest remake was Warcraft 3: Reforged, which was met with controversy more than anything else when it was released.

To cut the story short: Blizzard wanted to avoid the same mistake and tasked the team behind Diablo 4 in charge, with Vicarious Visions working on it too. The report states that the Diablo 2 Remake was also known as “Diablo II: Resurrected.”

When asked for a comment, Blizzard refrained from commenting on Vicarious Visions’ current projects, though confirmed that the studio ‘”has been working with Blizzard for some time.”

Sucker Punch Productions has released the first-ever patch for Ghost of Tsushima for 2021! The Ghost of Tsushima update 1.19 January 23 has been pushed out and it’s for bug fixes!

Update: We’ve updated the post with Sucker Punch’s announcement regarding the update.

Sucker Punch Productions has issued a tweet regarding today’s update, and states it’s for resolving crashing issues with Survival missions (as reported below) and various bug fixes.

Patch 1.19 for #GhostOfTsushima is now live. This patch resolves an issue causing recent crashes in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Survival missions, as well as various bug fixes.

Sucker Punch Productions has currently not issued any specific patch notes for today’s title update, the community has shared what’s new and it seems to fix the Survival bug that has plagued the multiplayer portion of the game! Not familiar with it is? Here’s a summary:

Whenever I play a survival map whether it be quick play or choose a map. At some point in the game it freezes and objectives are either flashing yellow or enemies are standing still and I kill them however they keep “resurrecting” and no new waves come, and it’s not like it’s just me but the all members in the match are active and moving around and I have had to leave during second to last or even last rounds due to this bug! It sucks cause then all my rewards get wasted and it seems like a complete waste of 30 mins of gameplay. If anyone knows how to fix this please help!

Microsoft Admits XBL Gold Pricing Screw Up, Reverts Back & Will Remove F2P Paywall in Comjng Months

Well, that was a fast one! Earlier today/yesterday, Microsoft announced an increase in Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. In just hours however, the company has reverted it and has even taken out the paywall for free-to-play games — something the PlayStation platform has done for years.

Here’s the new announcement made by Microsoft in full:

We messed up today and you were right to let us know. Connecting and playing with friends is a vital part of gaming and we failed to meet the expectations of players who count on it every day. As a result, we have decided not to change Xbox Live Gold pricing.

We’re turning this moment into an opportunity to bring Xbox Live more in line with how we see the player at the center of their experience. For free-to-play games, you will no longer need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play those games on Xbox. We are working hard to deliver this change as soon as possible in the coming months.

If you are an Xbox Live Gold member already, you stay at your current price for renewal. New and existing members can continue to enjoy Xbox Live Gold for the same prices they pay today. In the US, $9.99 for 1-month, $24.99 for 3-months, $39.99 for 6-months and $59.99 for retail 12-months.

Resident Evil Village Collector’s Edition and Deluxe Edition Packages Revealed

Resident Evil fans who were looking forward to the RE Showcase event Capcom held got bombshell announcements for Resident Evil Village, as the game got a new trailer, gameplay footage, and was confirmed for a May 7, 2021 release for all platforms — including the PS4 and Xbox One.

Thanks to DualShockers, we now have details and a look at the upcoming Collector’s Edition and Deluxe Edition releases of RE: Village, which feature some very compelling items for big time RE fans.

Those that pre-order the game outright will receive a Mr. Raccoon weapon charm and a starter survival resource pack that will help players early on in the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition “Trauma Pack” includes a Mr. Everywhere charm, Save Device, Save Room Music, the Save Device, the Max Difficulty level, an Albert01 silencer gun, Found Footage RE7 filter, and finally a digital artbook called “The Tragedy of Ethan Winters”.

Much like Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake before it, the Collector’s Edition of RE Village contains some items that the diehard RE collector will definitely want — including a poster of the map to the titular village the game takes place in, the aforementioned Trauma Pack product code, a steelbook cover, a sample artbook, and the key item itself being a statue of longtime RE protagonist Chris Redfield. All of these come packed inside a chest that represents the storage boxes used throughout the series history, so it’s definitely the ultimate package for the ultimate RE fan.

Genshin Impact Update 1.3 Release Set for February 3, Here’s What’s Coming

Prepare to celebrate the new year in the fantasy world of Teyvat, as Genshin Impact prepares for its 1.3 update coming this February 3, which adds the Lantern Rite festival as well the new playable character Xiao.

In the upcoming seasonal event included with version 1.3, Travelers will find themselves welcoming Teyvat’s New Year in Liyue’s biggest annual festival, Lantern Rite. Travelers will be able to immerse themselves in this age-old tradition by assisting Liyue’s locals with various preparations for the festivities and, of course, by attending the grand ceremony on the night of the first full moon of the year. During this ceremony, countless lanterns will light up the night sky, carrying the wishes of every household into the heavens. Meanwhile, the bustling streets of Liyue will be lined with food stalls and festive activities exclusive to Lantern Rite, including an all-new tower defense strategy game — Theater Mechanicus.

The Lantern Rite will also mark the arrival of Xiao, the Vigilant Yaksha, as a new 5-star playable character. Wielding a polearm and the power of Anemo, Xiao is a fierce adeptus warrior whose elemental burst grants him increased damage at the cost of continuously draining his health. During the Lantern Rite, Travelers will have the chance to accompany Xiao for a day in the life of a guardian of Liyue, offering a rare glimpse into his life of solitude over the past millennia.

Generous resources and rewards will be available from the events in Version 1.3 to fully prepare Travelers for a new year of adventure in Teyvat. During the Lantern Rite period, Travelers can claim 10 free Intertwined Fates via a daily login event and obtain over 1,600 Primogems and plenty of resources, including the Crown of Insight, by completing other festive events. Furthermore, Travelers will also have a chance to choose one free 4-star character from Liyue to add to their party.

New customization features and further optimizations will also be introduced with the upcoming version. The Archive will be expanded to include information on discovered creatures and defeated enemies, and Travelers will also be able to showcase up to eight of their characters via their Profile screen. Finally, a new gadget called the Parametric Transformer will provide a means of transmuting excess resources, turning them into something useful.

In other Genshin Impact news, it’s been confirmed that mobile gamers will get a pre-installation feature soon.

Genshin Impact is free-to-play and is available for PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.10 January 22 Deployed for Patch 1.1 Fixes

CD Projekt RED has released the Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.10 January 22 patch, or what the studio calls Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.1! This is a rather meaty patch on consoles and introduces fixes for stability, open-world issues, UI fixes and loads more!

  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from collecting the reward in Gig: Freedom of the Press. The quest will auto-complete for those who could not collect the reward previously, and the reward will be provided automatically.
  • Fixed an issue where Delamain would remain silent throughout Epistrophy if the player initially refused to help him.

UI

  • Fixed an issue where prompt for exiting braindance could be missing.
  • Removed an invalid item from loot.

Visual

  • Fixed an issue where a grenade’s trajectory could be displayed in photo mode.
  • Fixed particles’ hue appearing pink when viewed close up.
  • Fixed cars spawning incorrectly in Reported Crime: Welcome to Night City.

Achievements

  • Fixed an issue where completing one of theassaults in progress in Santo Domingo would sometimes not contribute towards progression for The Jungle achievement, preventing its completion.

Miscellaneous 

  • Addressed the issue responsible for saves getting oversized (related to the modifier indicating if the item is crafted), and trimmed the excess size from already existing saves (note: this won’t fix PC save files corrupted before 1.06 update).
  • Fixed an issue where input could stop registering upon opening the weapon wheel and performing an action.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Continue” button in the Main Menu could load an end game save.

PlayStation-specific

  • Performance optimization of crowds on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5.
  • Various crash fixes on PlayStation 4.

Xbox-specific

  • Improved memory usage for character creation, mirrors, scanning, camera remote control, menus (inventory, map) on Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox One S.

PC-specific

  • It will now be possible to obtain achievements while in Steam offline mode. Note: Offline mode needs to be enabled before starting the game. This change does not work retroactively.
  • Addressed the game startup crashes related to loading cache on NVIDIA graphics cards.

Stadia-specific

  • Concert audio should no longer be inaudible in Never Fade Away.
  • Fixed corrupted textures on several melee weapons.
  • Tweaked default deadzone settings to be more responsive. Note: the change will not affect settings unless they’re set to default.

CD Projekt RED states that they will continue the improvements in patch 1.2 and other upcoming updates. Once we know more details about that, we’ll let our readers know.

EA UFC 4 Update 7.01 January 22 Kicks Out

While EA Vancouver just released a hefty update to EA UFC 4 yesterday that brought in new content and changes, it looks like something got lost in the shuffle as the EA UFC 4 update 7.01 January 22 patch has been released today!

Clocking in at 2GB on Xbox One and 1.4 GB on PS4, don’t expect any major new content, as EA Vancouver has remained mum about the patch so far.

It seems there’s no official patch notes available yet, but here’s what’s been voiced out by the community regarding this update:

Reddit user xFINISHxHIMx states that some stuff were left out in yesterday’s patch even if they were listed in the patch notes, and these are the sliders for Quick Match Online.

Here’s what the dev team had to say about the sliders:

  • Added additional settings to Online Invite match settings, including gameplay sliders

Gameplay received some significant improvements and changes in this patch. The team has continued to review community feedback and for this patch we’ve focused on making more impactful changes to both stamina and submissions. Additionally, there are many other improvements to gameplay including gameplay sliders for online invite matches, a new kick type – calf kicks, attribute balancing, and tons of fighter moveset updates.

What’s a Xûr?

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who randomly appears in a Public Sector on one of the Worlds. Xûr sells Exotic equipment and only takes Legendary Shards in exchange for them.

TL;DR: He’s the Santa Claus of Destiny and every weekend is Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want, sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it’s coal.

When does Xûr visit?

Xbox Live Gold Price Increase Announced for 1-Month & 3-Month Subscriptions

Microsoft has today announced that the price of Xbox Live Gold has increased for short-term subscriptions. This applies to one-month and three-month subscriptions. Head on below for the full announcement by Microsoft today.

First the important stuff for existing members: if you’re a current six-month or 12-month Xbox Live Gold member, the price increase won’t affect you, as you can renew your membership at the current rate.

Xbox Live Gold Price Increase Overview:

  • If you’re an existing online 12-month or 6-month Xbox Live Gold member, there’s no price change. If you choose to renew your membership, it will renew at the current price.
  • The price of a 1-month Gold membership is increasing $1 USD and the price of a 3-month membership is increasing $5 USD or the equivalent amount in your local market.
  • If you’d like to upgrade your Gold membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate your remaining Gold time will also convert directly to Ultimate (up to 36 months). For example, if you have 11 months of Xbox Live Gold now, and you upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, those 11 months convert to 11 months of Ultimate at no additional cost.

New Prices:

  • 1-month for $10.99
  • 3-months for $29.99
  • 6-months for $59.99

According to Microsoft, members have already been notified in some regions, and if you’re in a region where prices are being adjusted, you’ll get an email and a message center notification over the next month letting you know what the new pricing is.

While a price increase is not welcome news to gamers, Microsoft did point out that the price of Xbox Live Gold has not changed in over 10 years, and let’s face it, it’s not that big of a price increase if you think about it, no?

Resident Evil 7 biohazard Update 1.08 (Gold Edition 1.03) Released

While it’s been a rather busy day for Resident Evil fans with the gameplay reveal of Resident Evil Village, Capcom has also rolled out a Resident Evil 7 biohazard update 1.08 for PS4 and Xbox One. Note that for those with the Gold Edition, this will show up as Resident Evil 7 update 1.03! Clocking in at just 250MB on PS4, and at 1GB on Xbox One, this title update doesn’t add any new gameplay-relatd features but is rather something connected to Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard Update 1.08 Patch Notes (Gold Edition 1.03):

This patch is just to add a landing page/product page for Resident Evil Village within Resident Evil 7. Yep, that’s about it. You got to work out that cross-game marketing!

Even if that’s underwhelming, Capcom didn’t disappoint earlier, as it also announced a PS5-exclusive demo for Resident Evil Village, and we even got our first gameplay look for Resident Evil Re:Verse, which is a multiplayer game that comes free with  RE Village.

The Division 2 Holds Resident Evil 25-Year Anniversary Crossover Event This February

Prepare to gear up and dress as your favorite characters from the world of Resident Evil, as Ubisoft teams up with Capcom to present some RE themed apparel in The Division 2 this February — which was announced during the RE Showcase event and honors 25 years of RE!

Today, Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2 announced an Apparel Event beginning February 2 where agents can unlock caches featuring iconic Resident Evil themed cosmetic items for a limited time.

The Apparel Event, part of Resident Evil’s 25-year anniversary, was announced during the Resident Evil Showcase livestream earlier today.

Players can earn or purchase up to 21 all-new apparel items, building iconic outfits of different Resident Evil characters. Players could earn:

  • Resident Evil outfit items
  • Weapon skins
  • Arm patches
  • Backpack trophies

To celebrate the start of the event, all agents who log in throughout the Resident Evil event will receive the Leon Kennedy RPD 3-piece outfit to start their collection.

The Resident Themed Apparel Event will run from February 2 until February 15.Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, as well as on Stadia, Amazon Luna and Ubisoft’s subscription service, Ubisoft+*.

Warframe Update 1.95 January 21 Ushers in Orphix Venom Update 29.6.5

Tennos, Digital Extremes has released the Warframe update 1.95 January 21 patch (Warframe update 1.94 for EU and JP players), and it’s for the Operation: Orphix Venom mech event! Head on below for the complete patch notes and details.

Warframe Update 1.95 January 21 Patch Notes (Update 1.94 for EU & JP):

This update includes everything from PC Updates and Hotfixes from 29.5.6 to 29.6.5 (and hand picked some necessary additional fixes onwards), which includes many changes and fixes to Operation: Orphix Venom! The total download size for PS4 is roughly 478 MB and 982 MB for PS5 (size variations are to be expected based on the ways in which the different systems operate). 

CONSOLE SPECIFIC NOTES:

  • Heart of Deimos Trophies: These still are requiring more time to submit and will be released in a future update. Thank you!
  • Fixed an issue where binding “Show Player List” to D-Pad would override its functionality when navigating menus with a controller.
  • Fixed loss of functionality if you used a controller to open up the Pause Menu while viewing Bounties and viewed a squad member’s profile. You can no longer open the Pause Menu while viewing Bounties.

OPERATION: ORPHIX VENOM

The Sentients are back. Armed with weaponized pulses cleverly designed to disable Warframes, they’re staging a takeover of enemy vessels. Deploy your Necramech to survive incoming hordes for as long as possible and earn Blueprints for Lavos, the newest Warframe, plus much more!

Operation: Orphix Venom is a limited-time event and will be going live at 3:20 PM ET today! The Operation will be live until February 22nd @ 3:20 PM ET.

Also enjoy global Double Affinity during the first two weeks of the Operation starting January 21st @ 3:20 PM ET to February 11th @ 3:20 PM ET!*

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

With your Warframe compromised, you’ll need to rely on your Necramech to defend enemy ships against a total Sentient takeover. If you don’t yet own a Necramech, you’ll find Necramechs throughout the Operation level that you can Transference into!

Aboard the ambushed Grineer and Corpus vessels, be prepared to face new Sentient adversaries. The Orphix are insidiously engineered to interrupt Transference and wreak havoc. You’ll need to take them out with the strength of your Necramech and Operator, along with the Orphix Resonators, and keep the Sentient Control meter below 100%. Last as long as you can to earn Phasic Cells to exchange for Rewards and stave off the invasion!

Avoid defeat at all costs, Tenno.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Operation: Orphix Venom will not be easy and requires preparation. You must have completed both the “Heart of Deimos” and “The War Within” Quests in order to begin.

There are 3 tiers of difficulty:

1. Operation: Orphix Venom
2. Operation: Orphix Venom – Advanced
3. Operation: Orphix Venom – Endurance

Progress through each to encounter the enemy at varying difficulties to earn different Rewards along the way!

OPERATION REWARDS

Visit the Necralisk on Deimos and talk to Father, who’s eager to demonstrate the power of his Necramechs against the Sentient threat. He’s hoarding a stockpile of special gear that he’ll trade for Phasic Cells, including the Blueprint for the master experimenter and newest Warframe, Lavos, Necramech Mods, and more! BUT – there’s more! You can also earn a number of rewards also by just playing the Operation – including Lavos! It’ll be up to you if you want to save your Phasic Cells for Lavos and other items, or get lucky and earn select items within the Operation!

SCORING & PHASIC CELLS

Each Orphix has an initial value of 100 points in the first Operation mission. As your fight evolves, so will the Orphix, awarding you more points at a greater difficulty. Orphix will be worth 200 points at the hardest difficulty (Endurance), and scale up from there! The higher your score, the more Phasic Cells you’ll walk away with.

Try to survive for as long as you can – 36 Orphix will be the maximum amount in the Endurance mission, so once you’ve hit 36, it’s time to extract! The first two Operation missions have a limit of 24 Orphix. Players looking to maximize their score should head to Endurance!

Phasic Cells can be earned in any Operation mission. But remember – Endurance gives the most points per Orphix, so you’ll earn the most Phasic Cells there. A prepared and coordinated squad even more so! While this Operation is possible Solo, best results will come from coordinated Squads!

CLAN LEADERBOARDS AND CLAN TROPHIES

Clan Scores are determined based on the sum of all participating members’ best scores. We balanced this around about 50% member participation for Gold Tier trophies.

NEW WARFRAME: LAVOS

PASSIVE
Energy and Universal Orbs give Lavos status immunity for 10 seconds. Hold any Ability to imbue the next cast with additional Elemental Damage and Status.

  • To make combining elements so that they may be imbued easier on controller, you’ll be able to make combined elemental damage by either a) holding two ability buttons together to combine (a bit of finger gymnastics) or b) holding one ability and then another to combine.

OPHIDIAN BITE
Lash out with a toxic serpentine strike, consuming the target to heal Lavos. Hold to imbue all Abilities with Toxin.

VIAL RUSH
Dash forward, crashing through enemies and leaving an icy trail of broken vials. Hold to imbue the next Ability cast with Cold.

TRANSMUTATION PROBE
Launch a probe that converts Health and Energy Orbs into Universal Orbs that provide both, and Ammo pickups into Universal Ammo Pickups. The probe shocks enemies in close proximity. Each electrocuted foe reduces Ability cooldowns by one second. Hold to imbue the next Ability cast with Electricity.

CATALYZE
Catalyst Probes erupt from Lavos and douse combatants in a fiery gel. Damage is doubled for each element afflicting an enemy. Hold to imbue the next Ability cast with Heat.

Visit Lavos’ Leverian to learn about Javi. The Crawling Serpent. The Abhorred. The Filth-Speaker.

Isolation & Arcana Bounty Flow Changes

Isolation Vault Flow Changes:

We have 4 main pillars of Isolation Vault flow changes. Not only do these changes significantly loosen the required routine, but they also aim to further improve the process for less new player confusion.

• You will now only ever need to complete a specific Tier of Isolation Bounty once to unlock the next Tier.
• For example: Complete the Tier 1 Isolation Vault near Necralisk Gates. You can then leave Deimos or even log off, and the next time you return to Cambion Drift you can go immediately to the Tier 2 Isolation Vault Bounty location and run that Bounty. No need to run the Tier 1 bounty again if you don’t want to.
• Once the Isolation Vault Tier is completed, you can run the Arcana Bounty at that same Tier.
• Similar to the new Isolation Vault flow above, you can leave the session and upon returning to Cambion Drift you can go straight into the Arcana Bounty without first completing the Isolation Vault at that location.
• Each Isolation Vault Bounty Tier now has a specific Mother location in Cambion Drift to provide a concrete flow with less confusion.
• Tier 1 = Mother located in ‘UNDULATUM’
• Tier 2 = Mother located between ‘ALBRECHT’S PROSPECT’ and ‘CATABOLIC GUTTER’
• Tier 3 = Mother located in ‘THE ABSCESS’

Isolation Vault/Arcana Bounty Droptable Changes:

Now that the Arcana Bounties will be more easily accessible, it’s time to rebalance the drop tables:

• Both Isolation Vault Bounties and Arcana Bounties now share a droptable. There are 3 different droptables for each Isolation/Arcana Bounty Tier that rotates every ~3 hours, allowing you to selectively choose the reward you seek and when – exactly how other Open World Bounties work.
• This rotation follows the same window as the Bounty rotation in the Necralisk.
• Rewards within the Isolation Vault/Arcana Bounties have been rebalanced to provide a better kick at the can for higher coveted rewards:

Droptable content breakdown:

• Orokin Matrixes
• Less % chance overall.
• Relics
• Midpoint % between the two old Bounty types.
• Necramech Weapon Parts
• Now split up among the three droptables so you can target.
• Necramech Mods
• Similar drop % chance, but split up to allow more targeted runs.
• Deimos Arcanes
• Significantly higher drop % chance.
• Scintillant (T1)
• Midpoint drop % chance between the two old Bounty types
• Weapon parts (T2 & T3)
• Slightly reduced: You only ever need 1 of the Sporothrix and Arum Spinosa Blueprint. Getting all the way to the Arcana Bounties and receiving another Weapon Blueprint is not a feel good moment. Although this doesn’t completely eliminate getting duplicates, the drop % reduction does allow for better chances towards the other rewards.

No longer in the tables:

Both of these have been taken out to allow for better odds at getting newer/desired rewards.

BONUS: Sporothrix and Arum Spinosa Blueprints are now tradable!
To balance out the Weapon Blueprint drop % reduction we’ve made the Sporothrix and Arum Spinosa Blueprints tradable. The Sporothrix and Arum Spinosa parts were already Tradable, but it’s now one step further.

General Isolation Vault Changes & Fixes:
• Altered dialog timing in the Toxicity (2nd) stage of the Isolation Vault for better pacing of Loid/Otak dialog. Also tuned escalation timing slightly to delay arrival of higher tier enemies.
• Extended context action range of the Bait console when grabbing the key during an Isolation Vault Bounty to help prevent sliding past it or standing on top of it.
• Fixed Isolation Vault Bounties disappearing from Necralisk Mother after completing them for Clients until you reload the Necralisk hub.
• Fixed Matchmaking settings mixing Tiers of Isolation Vault Bounties, resulting in being put into the incorrect Isolation Vault Bounty (IE selecting Tier 3 and being put into Tier 1).
• Fixes towards Host Migration not working with Isolation Vault Stage 1.

Nechramech Changes & Fixes

Bonewidow:

On the menu we have a hearty serving of Bonewidow changes & fixes. Let’s breakdown the nutritional facts here: Arquebex is a very high damage weapon for Voidrig, as it makes sense for his damage output kit. Bonewidow is our Melee Necramech more focused on survivability and endurance. Exalted Ironbride is not going to match 1:1 with Arquebex, but that doesn’t mean Ironbride (or the rest of her kit) should be overshadowed. The below aim to address common Community feedback to provide Bonewidow that extra dash of spice.

• Necramech Melee Mods (Pressure Point, Fury, Reach) now apply to Exalted Ironbride.
• Bonewidow’s Ironbride can now do a neutral and forward Heavy Attack that throws a damaging projectile!
• Renamed Bonewidow’s Shield Maiden ‘Shield Bash’ to ‘Maiden’s Kiss’.
• Reduced Bonewidow’s Maiden’s Kiss to cost 15 Energy.
• You can now control the direction of Bonewidow’s Meathook ability instead of being stuck in the initial direction before activating.
• Bonewidow’s Meathook thrown enemies now have 100% Status Chance.
• Bonewidow’s Meathook now drains a percent of the target’s max Health vs flat damage. When the target is thrown the Damage dealt is a percentage of the target’s current Health.
• Both of these changes help to scale Meathook with varying enemy levels.
• Bonewidow Necramech can now reflect damage while blocking with Shield Maiden (this is exclusive to the player’s version of Bonewidow).
• Bonewidow will now absorb enemy attacks for a few seconds after activating Shield Maiden, and the absorbed damage will be added to the shield’s Health.
• Enemy Bonewidow Shield Maiden now has a limited amount of Health and can be destroyed.
• Enemy Bonewidow will no longer reattach her arm while wielding Exalted Ironbride. One thing at a time!
• Removed Ammo UI when Bonewidow is wielding Ironbride.
• Fixed a crash when using Bonewidow’s Meathook on a Deimos Mitosid.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Shield Maiden not deactivating upon Transferring out/back in. This resulted in your shield being on your chest (not active). However, when you pressed Melee you would do Maiden’s Kiss, and it would cost Energy, instead of the normal Necramech unarmed attack.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Firing Line affecting Companions/Pets.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Firing Line ragdolling you.
• Fixed enemy Bonewidow sometimes getting stuck with Ironbride out and being unable to switch back to its gun.
• Fixed Bonewidow Melee attacking while using Shield Maiden (Maiden’s Kiss attack) would show Atlas’ Landslide ability pop-up text.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Firing Line animation not matching its current shield state correctly.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s rear hit box getting hit from front attacks.
• Fixed Bonewidow visual-only “Ability Use Prevented” problem after toggling Shield Maiden and Ironbride off.
• Fixed enemy Bonewidows not knowing how to initiate a Maiden’s Kiss. Pucker up!
• Fixed enemy Bonewidows sometimes using incorrect idle animations that would cause their shield to look unequipped when it should be and/or their sword to be held incorrectly.
• Fixed enemy Bonewidows periodically playing the Shield Maiden unequip animation during a Melee attack combo.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Shield Maiden not deactivating after redeploying/Transferring in and out but still bashing with Shield instead of normal Melee. This also fixes a related issue where Ironbride would only execute the first attack in its combo chain instead of the full loop.
• Fixed an issue with Bonewidow’s Shield Maiden blocking bounds becoming very small when attacked. This was causing Bonewidow to take damage instead of the shield.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Meathook not properly skewering the target if done by a Client player. Previously the ragdoll would appear to float around.
• Fixed enemies held by Bonewidow’s Meathook able to cast abilities.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Meathook not displaying “Not Enough Energy” UI message.
• Fixed enemies on Bonewidows Meathook teleporting to their last known spot instead of just being dropped when activating Shield Maiden at the same time.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Meathook grabbing Dargyns.
• Fixed Bonewidow’s Shield Maiden not functioning properly after it’s been destroyed for Client players.
• Fixed crash that could occur if a Bonewidow was using Ironbride at the wrong moment on returning to Town.
• Fixed a crash that could occur if Bonewidow’s Shield Maiden is deactivated when a player leaves a mission.
• Fixed issues with Bonewidow’s Firing Line not replicating with custom energy colours.
• Fixed an issue where Bonewidow could Grab the Exploiter Orb.
•  Fixed Bonewidow’s Meathook Health absorb percent progression not following its ability ranks sequentially.
• Fixed up elemental trails and FX for Bonewidows Exalted Ironbride.

Voidrig:

• Doubled the enemy Voidrig recovery animation time to allow a longer opportunity window to shoot the weak spots.
• Fixed Voidrig Necraweb ability “Press to throw” tool-tip remaining on screen after Transferring out.
• Fixed Voidrig Necraweb canister floating in the air and tool-tip lingering if the canister isn’t tossed within a minute.
•  Fixed energy colours not properly applying to Voidrig.
• Fixed Voidrigs Guard Mode Ability stats showing Energy drain/second base stat as 0.
• Fixed Voidrig Day of the Dead Helmet Skin appearing as a filepath in the Necramech Arsenal.
• Fixed Voidrig Snake Necramech Helmet Skin appearing as a filepath in the Necramech Arsenal.

General Necramech Changes & Fixes:

• Both Voidrig/Bonewidow Necramechs, Morgha, and Cortege weapons can be purchased in the Market for Platinum. Necramech’s also have their own category in the Market!
• Fully crafted components for the Necramech/weapons are now tradeable.
• Removed the Gravimag requirement on Archwing weapons for Necramechs.
• Vazarin Dash, Trinity’s Blessing, Equinox’s Mend, Rejuvenate Aura, and Arcane Pulse no longer heals Necramechs. Out of 21 sources of healing, these five slipped through.
• Firing your gun while Hovering as a Necramech is now considered to be in an “Aiming” state, meaning Mods like Critical Focus and Marked Target will apply again.
• Bonewidow Necramech’s can now be found patrolling or in its deactivated state in The Cambion Drift, similar to Voidrig Necramechs.
• Enemy Necramechs (Voidrig & Bonewidow) will now rotate its body to indicate that it is about to slide towards you.
• Adjusted Necramechs desired spacing between players to avoid sometimes standing right on top of you.
• Fixed (again) Client Necramechs losing gained Affinity if the Host migrated.
• Fixed Operator appearing invisible and floating after exiting your Necramech as Operator for the second time as a Client.
• Fixed cases where both Voidrig and Bonewidow wouldn’t attack with its currently equipped weapon.
• Fixed Warframe stats displaying incorrect values in the Arsenal when equipping a Necramech.
• Fixed Necramech weapon getting stuck continuously firing after dashing while shooting.
• Fixed an issue where you would get a second jump sound when aiming with a Necramech in the air.
• Fixed an issue where Revive XP penalty didn’t always apply to the Necramech gun if it was the same gun as your Heavy slot or Archwing loadout.
• Fixed your first inworld waypoint not appearing if done in your Necramech.
• Necramechs now transition to aiming pose faster when in the air.
• Fixed neither Host nor Client not receiving Thermia if they’are in their Necramech when the reward is given.
• Fixed a potential issue with Saya’s Vigil if you were in a Necramech when it tried to give you a Scanner charge.
• Fixed UI remaining scrambled after entering your Necramech in a Vome residue puddle.
• Another fix for the Mission Progress screen appearing blank while in a Necramech.
• Fixed previously summoned Client Necramech appearing to explode when re-summoning it.
• Fixed Heart of Deimos Snake Necramech appearing to have double attachments.
• Fixed chosen Energy color not applying to Necramech ground slams.
• Fixed losing Affinity for Necramech weapons if a Host migration occurred while piloting a Necramech with their ultimate Ability active. This also fixes a script error occurring when Reviving after the Host migration.

Changes:

• The Mining drop rate of Necrathene has been doubled! To make this change, Heciphron Mining drop rate has been reduced by 6% to balance the Necrathene increase.
• This change is similar to how we increased the Mining drop rate of Thaumica in
Deimos Arcana to help alleviate Necramech crafting pain points.
• Adjusted Flagellocanth hit box to allow for easier targeting.
• The Teralyst spawn sound loop will no longer play while in Cetus.
• Modified the Pet Incubation screen to allow you to purchase Companion Inventory Slots for Platinum if you need them, thus removing the extra step of having to leave and use the Market. (I.e. behaves like when you try to claim a weapon from the Foundry but have no free Slots).
• Necramech HUD reticles will now always be white, same as other reticles, to ensure it’s always as visible as possible.
• Disabled ability to open the Pause Menu after catching a fish since it could lead to incorrect state.
• ‘Invert Tap/Hold Abilities’ option now lets you control the setting for each valid Warframe.
• Numerous Warframes Abilities new and old have been given the ‘Tap/Hold’ functionality to do varying actions. Feedback showed that having the option to Invert the ‘Tap/Hold’ across the board to all valid Warframes was not ideal, as some Ability default functionalities are preferred. Upon selecting the ‘Invert Tap/Hold Abilities’ in the Options menu, you’ll be met with a new screen allowing you to pick and choose which valid Warframes this applies to!

• Removed Magnus shell casing eject sounds to match revolver aesthetic / animation.
• You can now Build Kitguns at Father in the Necralisk and Gild/Provide/Title your Kitgun! Everything a Kitgun vendor should do!
• Replaced Weapon Blueprint requirements in Necraloid Sacrifices with the associated Barrel Component Blueprint, thus removing the Mastery Rank restriction on advancing Ranks.
• Basmu and Ceti Lacera Blueprints are now tradeable.
• Inbox messages with transmissions now have a replay button that pulses.
• A Mastery Rank requirements popup will now show when trying to purchase a weapon you’re not eligible for yet.
• The ‘Hint Transmission’ audio toggle now applies to Glass Fissure Transmissions.
• Rebalanced Necramech Efficiency Mods so that they do not stack over 100%. This applies to both the Necramech Drift Mod and Necramech Efficiency Mod. Necramech Drift max rank is now 60% Hover Efficiency and Necramech Efficiency max rank is now 30% Engine Efficiency (as it boosts all stats). Combined you receive a maximum efficiency of 90%.
• Necramech Efficiency Mods boost the efficiency of all Stamina-affecting maneuvers to 60% at max rank, which leaves little room to expand with other Mods. When combined with Hover Efficiency (Necramech Drift) which already caps out at a problematic 125% efficiency, we get some really undesired values. We missed the mark on balancing these before they were pushed out the door, which is our mistake.
• Increased the Standing Rank font size of Standing Rank up from 18 to 19 to make standard and hopefully fix occasionally displaying a blank square instead of a number.
• Improved the Railjack Inventory Slot flow for more exposure and overall clarity:
• Changed Wreckage Capacity count to use an icon instead of text + scrap button: hover to see text and select to open scrap window.
• Added an additional button for combined Components and Armaments (constructed Wreckage) to show Components & Armaments Capacity and allow you to Scrap multiple at the same time using the dedicated Scrap window.
• Adjusted reverb sound settings to the Color Key Captura Scene to better fit the level.
• Little blue Necramech and little blue Warframe Helmet icons now mark your Necramech/Warframe respectively on the minimap when not being “controlled” to aid in loss prevention.
• Reduced Nekros Soul Punch area-of-effect physics impulse so it no longer launches enemies across the solar system.
• Improvements to Corpus Ship level navigation where AI could get stuck.
• Running out of Railjack Boost stamina will now clear the Boost state to address Boost not recharging once depleted.
• Lowered Xaku Grasp of Lohk ability sounds.

Fixes:

• Fixed crash when interacting with the crystal to begin the Nihil boss fight.
• Fixed a crash that could occur if you skip the Tutorial cinematic.
• Fixed a rare case where the Orvius might cause a crash.
• Fixed a crash when Transferring to Operator while simultaneously activating a Remote Observer in Captura.
• Fixed a crash that could occur when switching between Operator and Necramech after firing any type of Glaive.
• Fixed a crash when trading with certain Weapon and Mod combinations.
• Fixed a crash related to Arson Eximus units.
• Fixed a crash associated with Explosive Legerdemain being used when not fully ranked.
• Fixed Scintillant sound not being replicated for Clients, resulting in Clients not seeing Scintillant and thus inability to obtain it.
• Fixed an issue when using the same Arc-gun in Heavy Weapon slot and Necramech gun slot, where Affinity earned before first summoning your Necramech wouldn’t apply to the Necramech’s version of the Arc-gun.
• Fixed UI becoming unresponsive when holding down a button while using Fast Travel/Decoration mode in the Dojo.
• Fixed Syndicates that only have Universal Medallions as Trade Ins displaying ‘NO TO REDEEM’ when you have nothing to redeem.
• Fixed Pathocyst Infested pod sound looping when pods are created but do not spawn a maggot.
• Fixed Paris Prime shot sounds occasionally playing locally for remote players.
• Fixed visual issues with the Oscira Bow Skin when equipped on the Kuva Bramma.

Resident Evil Re:Verse Trailer Features Familiar Faces Fighting, Free Access With RE Village Purchase

Resident Evil Village PS5 Demo Exclusively Out Today

During the Resident Evil Showcase event, Capcom announced a surprise Resident Evil Village PS5 demo that’s exclusive for the platform, and it’s available today!

We’ll be getting our hands on it and writing a preview up ASAP!

Resident Evil Village is set for release this May 7, 2021 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

Update: The official PlayStation Blog has posted details on the Resident Evil Village PS5 demo and confirmed it’s a sttandalone experience from the game.

Of course, we had one more major drop to share with you all: a stand-alone demo for Resident Evil Village, known as Maiden, that’s available for download only on PlayStation 5 starting today. As Resident Evil Village Producer Peter Fabiano mentioned in the Resident Evil Showcase, you don’t play as Ethan Winters in this demo. Rather, you’ll be playing as a character known only as “the maiden.” Unable to fight or even block, you’ll be in control of this character as she attempts to escape from Dimitrescu Castle. This is a stand-alone separate experience from the main game that is a kind of short story set within the world of RE Village.

The maiden

We asked Peter about who the protagonist of this demo is, as she’s only known as “the maiden.” As Peter explains it, “Maiden is not the name of any person, but instead it symbolizes the protagonist, a girl who’s trapped in Dimitrescu Castle.” Rather than playing as Ethan and seeing a part of his story, the character in this demo is separate from the main story of Resident Evil Village. According to Peter, both the maiden’s story and Ethan’s story take place at different times.

“The Maiden demo doesn’t take place during the main story of Resident Evil Village. Maiden was originally designed as a visual demo that would allow you to explore the inside of Dimitrescu Castle, but it evolved to include a short story and puzzle solving.” Long-time fans of Resident Evil are familiar with various castles that have appeared throughout the series, so they should feel right at home in this one, too. With RE Village and Maiden taking place in the same place but not the same time, it left us wondering if the two would be tied together somehow.

The experience

There might be a few things that eagle-eyed players should look out for as they wander the castle in search of an exit, so we asked Peter if there was anything the team wanted them to notice as they explore. “Maiden is a demo that’s separate from Resident Evil Village,” he explained. “However, it does take place in the same world as RE Village does.” He even suggests that there are a few nods between the demo and the full game, ones that you’ll only be able to catch if you play both. “When you play Resident Evil Village, or, perhaps, you come back to Maiden after playing the main game, you might discover the connections they have to each other.”

The technology

Finally, we asked about the Maiden demo being on PlayStation 5, and how the team took advantage of the technology that the PS5 offers. Simply put, “you’ll be able to enjoy the ray tracing and 3D Audio that PS5 offers,” according to Pete. The demo is designed to take full advantage of tech that will also be included in RE Village, so Maiden also functions as a sneak peek at the next-gen leap for survival horror. Of course, we also had to press Peter a bit about his comments during the RE Showcase about how art design and technology come together to create such a hauntingly beautiful and detailed environment.

“For Maiden, or rather, for Resident Evil Village, we wanted to create a game with beautiful graphics, high frame rate, and short loading times that don’t spoil people’s immersive experience of the game. The technology we mentioned in the showcase aided the director in realizing his vision of how the game is played, and the art director’s vision of how he wanted the game to look.” You’ll see this reflected in both the full game and the demo in the environments, objects, and character models, right down to the smallest details.

Resident Evil Village Gameplay Breaks Free and Looks Terrifying
