While Ubisoft Montreal has switched off the For Honor servers for some much-needed maintenance, the studio has also released the For Honor August 6 update that brings it to v2.20! This brings The Warmonger and Core Combat changes. Head on below for the patch notes and overview.

The Warmongers share ties with the Blackstone Legion, but have greater ambitions. Wielding the elegant flamberge, they are determined to punish those who refuse to join their cause. Not only can they isolate a target with a dark power named Corruption, they also have enhanced Light Attacks mixed up with strong Claw Attacks to put pressure on their opponent.

Known Issue: Campaign completion rewards are missing for the Warmonger

CORE COMBAT UPDATE
The Core Combat Update is a global series of improvements that affects all fighters, consisting of the following improvements:

  • New system makes fight moves look consistently faster over the network:
    • Removed the visual variability of opponent’s fight moves speeds caused by timing of the inputs
    • As a result, for all fight moves, the first 100ms of animation and user interface are consistently skipped over the network (whether delayed or buffered)
    • As a result, feints are also more believable
  • Damage adjustments
    • Generally, Light Attack damage is reduced
    • Generally, counter-attack tools damage is reduced
    • Generally, Heavy Finishers damage stays high to incentivise following through with your Chains
  • Recoveries normalized
    • Light Attacks generally are now frame disadvantaged (to weaken “Light Spam”)
    • Heavy Finishers generally are now frame advantaged (to incentivise following through with your Heavy Chain Finisher)
  • Stamina penalties removed
    • Now there is no extra stamina cost on Miss, Block and Parry
  • Light Stamina Costs are now generally 12 (from 6)
  • Light Light Chains can now be Dodged out of (due to branching timing changes)
  • Dodge Attacks that were 500ms are now increased to 533ms
    • This affects Peacekeeper, Shaman, Valkyrie, Tiandi, Conqueror, Gladiator, Raider, Nuxia
  • Opening Light attacks that were faster than 500ms are now 500ms
    • This affect Peacekeeper’s Light and Zone, Lawbringer, Orochi, Shaolin
  • Zone Attacks are now more comfortable to perform

Developer Comments: There are a lot of additional damage, stamina, and minor timing changes made to make the above happen. Please see the For Honor Competitive Information Hub created and maintained by top players on the r/CompetitiveForHonor subreddit.

Shaman

  • Stab recovery is slightly longer (so that attempting a second Stab immediately after a Stab will lose cleanly to an opponent’s Light Attack)

Berserker

  • Increased Chained Heavy to 700ms (from 600ms)

Aramusha

  • Guard Break has been standardized with other heroes to allow 800ms attacks to land
  • Increased Neutral top heavy to 800ms (from 600ms)
  • Increased Neutral side heavies to 900ms (from 700ms)

Tiandi

  • Superior Block Dodge Lights no longer guarantee Palm on hit

Lawbringer

  • Shoves no longer have Uninterruptible Stance (on either Dodge or Chain versions)

Orochi

  • Increased 2nd Light in Chains to 500ms (from 400ms)
  • Increased Top Light finisher to 500ms (from 400ms)
  • Increased Top Heavy finisher to 900ms (from 800ms) and is now Unblockable

  • Increased damage to 20 (from 15)
  • Now causes a Medium Reaction (from Light)

Nail Bomb

  • No longer stuns, blinds or causes stamina damage

  • No longer stuns or blinds
  • No longer reduce the stamina regen cooldown
  • Increased cooldown to 90s (from 60s)

Hammar’s Favor

  • Decreased duration to 5s (from 10s)

Protected Revive

  • Removed Armor while reviving
  • Reduced spawning to 75 Health (from 100)
  • Decreased Shield duration to 15 seconds (from infinite)

Sinister Shield

  • Increased minimum Health to use to 26 (from 21)
  • Increased costs to use to 25 Health (from 20)
  • Decreased Shield to 30 (from 45)

Spirit Shroud

  • Decreased damage resistance to 15% (from 20%)

Hard to Kill

  • Condition is now “<50 Health” (from a large variety of Health thresholds)
  • Now gives 30% damage reduction (from 4 different values depending on Health thresholds)

Jotunn Salve

  • Decreased heals to 4 Health (from 10)

Second Wind

  • Decreased heals to 30 Health (from 50)

Heal on Block

  • Decreased heals to 4 Health (from 5)

Body Count

  • Decreased heals to 1 Health when killing a Soldier (from 2)
  • Decreased Stamina regeneration to 1 when killing a Soldier (from 2)

Stalwart Banner

  • Decreased heals to 3 Health per tick, for a total of 84 HP (from 5 per tick for a total of 135)

Tough as Nails

  • Decreased Max Health to 10% (from 15%)

Invigorate

  • Decreased heals to 8 Health (from 12)

Healing Ward

  • Decreased heals to 3 Health per second (from 5)

PERKS

Known Issues:

  • Peacekeeper’s 2nd Light isn’t dodgeable when getting hit by the initial Light attack
  • Orochi’s Top Heavy Finisher Feint to Guard Break does not work if you are trying to roll away
  • Highlander’s Offensive form enhanced Light attacks have 25 stamina cost instead of 12
  • Highlander’s Light Light combo isn’t dodgeable on Block and on Hit when in Revenge or the opponent is Out Of Stamina

Developer Comments: We expect to address the Core Combat Update issues shortly after the release of 2.20.0

Developer Comments: Following the release of the Breach Improvements in Season 1 of Year 4, we saw that the Win/Loss ratios were now more even across the different maps. However, we see that the Defending teams still hold a significant advantage over the Attacking teams overall. Raising the Ram’s Health bar by an additional cauldron strike will help the Attackers clear through the final Gate or allow them to have a little more breathing room in number of respawns in the Commanders Phase.

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2020 Schedule and Details Announced

Rejoice, Guardians! Another limited-time event is coming your way! The Solstice of Heroes is back starting next week! In a press release, Bungie announced that the Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2020 schedule will be from August 11 to September 8!

There’s a new trailer accompanying it and fresh info!

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2020 Schedule and overview:

  • Starts: August 11, 2020 (next week)
  • Ends: September 8, 2020

According to Bungie, the Solstice of Heroes returns to the European Aerial Zone (EAZ), where Guardians will once again take on the Hive, Cabal and the Fallen. Treasure chests awaits those who conquer their enemies, and these wil have a chance of awarindg Solstice of Heroes armor pieces!

Those who want to raise their Power Leve, you’ll want to collect Solstice Key Fragments to unlock Solstice Packages containing Powerful gear and new armor upgrades. There will also be two new Triumps included in this event, which will count towards progression in the current Moments of Triump.

In the Tower, cosmetics vendor Tess Eververse will have new Universal Ornaments available, along with a new finisher, new accessories and emotes. These Universal Ornaments will make any Legendary armor look like Solstice amor, including a subclass-specific glow — exciting!

UFC 4 Top 10 Fighters Revealed

While EA has been slowly revealing the fighter ratings in UFC 4, we now have the best of the best — at least according to the developers. The UFC 4 Top 10 fighters have been announced, and some might be surprised at who’s in it!

As you can see, and according to the press release, this is the first time in EA Sports UFC history that a woman fighter has earned the no. 1 overall rating. For those unaware, Amanda “Lioness” Nunes is the current women’s bantamweight and featherweight champ, and is the first woman to become a two-division UFC champion.

GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS

Fluid Clinch Control

UFC 4 introduces Real Player Motion Technology (RPM Tech) into the art of the ‘clinch’, creating a fluid experience driven by positioning and physical context.

Takedown Overhaul

UFC 4 introduces RPM Tech into takedown gameplay as well. With a multitude of new takedown animations, players will feel a larger spectrum of outcomes, driven by user control and fighter attributes.

Devastating Ground and Pound

With the ground and pound overhaul, UFC 4 puts you in more control of postured-up scenarios, giving the striker more tools to aim and pick their spots and the defender access to more tools, like head movement and well-timed counter transitions.

In other UFC 4-related news, EA has announced that Daniel “DC” Cormier will be handling the fighter ratings after every major event. Make sure to check out the new Career Mode being introduced in the sports sim as well.

UFC 4 smacks its way out this August 14 on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Cryptic Studios has earlier pushed the button for Neverwinter maintenance on all platforms, and have also released a new game update on consoles! The Neverwinter update 8.01 August 6 patch notes can be seen below and apply to the PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Content and Environment

Avernus: Blood War

  • Quest credit for Infernal Wager (Demon) and Infernal Wager (Devil) is now consistently granted to participating players.
  • The system has been adjusted in the following ways:
    • The Blood War is no longer a server-wide mechanic. The war will now vary from instance to instance.
    • The longer it takes either faction to win the Blood War on a single instance, the more slaying enemies will contribute to the score.
    • As a result, the Blood War should no longer occasionally become stuck.
  • The hit points of Garyx the Unforgivable and Siegebreaker Mog’dorath have been increased.
  • The waypoint for Siegebreaker Mog’dorath has been corrected.

Combat and Powers

Healing Adjustments

  • The following changes have been made to the mechanics “Mark of Divinity,” “Aura of Divinity,” and “Lifemark.”
    • The range of these abilities has been increased to 120.
    • The marks granted by these abilities no longer disappear if the target moves out of range.
  • The following changes have been made to the mechanics “Light of Divinity,” “Hand of Divinity,” and “Lifepact.”
    • The range of these abilities has been increased to 120.
    • The tooltips for these abilities now clearly indicate that if no target is marked, or if the marked target is out of range, the ability will heal the caster. (This functionality has not been changed, it has only been added to the tooltip.)

Lair of the Mad Mage

  • Golems after the Bore Worm should no longer have a chance to be invisible and untargetable.

Zariel’s Challenge

  • Zariel should no longer be able to get into a state where her movement speed is reduced.

Items and Economy

Avernus Treasure Maps

  • The drop rate of treasure maps has been increased, and can now drop from weaker enemies.
  • The drop rate of weapons from treasure map rewards has been increased.
  • Treasure map rewards no longer have a chance to fail to give gear when they should. Gear granted by these rewards should now consistently be for the class of the player who loots them.

Rage of Bel

  • The Dented Rod now has a significantly higher chance to drop.

General

  • Defender of Neverwinter Supplies: The items in this pack are no longer marked as Unique, which should allow the pack to open / be claimed if the player had all of the appropriate items.
  • The Infernal War Machine can no longer be applied to the same character multiple times

User Interface

Tower of Augmentation

  • Backing out of menus no longer causes unavailable options to appear as potential selections.

Visual Effects

General

  • AoE indicators for Black Dragon attacks no longer linger after the dragon’s death.

Updates & Improvements

  • Fixed: Addressed an issue where the incorrect thumbnail or photo for a creation was displayed.
  • Fixed: Addressed an issue where, in complex parent creations, the user was required to manually release certain elements the creation contained, even if you had permission to release them. This would display an error message “Publishing element failed”.
  • Fixed: Stopped crashes happening following unexpected behaviour, such as vanishing imps and players being unable to access their own content.

Yep, as expect, it’s not a big download, nor is there any new stuff to tinker around it.

NBA 2K21 Current Gen Gameplay Dribbles Out

While we already know Portland Trailblazers star point guard Damian Lillard will be this year’s NBA 2K21 curren-gen cover athlete, 2K has today given us our first official NBA 2K21 current gen gameplay look!  And yes, it stars Lillard doing what he does best — and that’s hoisting long-range bombs!

Not only do we get a look at the player models for this year’s NBA 2K entry, we also see some of the global teams that will be included in the game. Observant gamers might also see the “2K Beach: in the Neighborhood, and there’s even a shot of a college jersey in Career Mode, which suggests we’ll be taking things to school!

Elder Scrolls Online, DOOM Eternal Next Gen Versions Announced

Following the trend of most online games having free next-gen upgrades, Bethesda has today announced The Elder Scrolls Online and DOOM Eternal next gen versions (PS5, Xbox Series X), and yes, these will be free upgrades too.

Unfortunately, aside from the publisher stating that their teams are ” working hard to ensure both titles will support backwards compatibility when the new consoles launch,” there’s no word on what kind of next-gen upgrades we’re getting.

That said, Bethesda did say that more info regarding the two games’ upgrades, and release windows will be shared in the coming weeks and months. No word yet on other titles’ joining these two, but the publisher specifically states they are “commited to offer free upgrades to current generation console owners of existing Bethesda titles we bring forward into the next generation of consoles.”

This is definitely good news for those who haven’t bought and played both titles. Speaking of which, makes sure to check out our DOOM Eternal review and why we consider it one of the best games this year.

While we just got two Nioh 2 patches in the past week, Team Ninja has released the Nioh 2 update 1.13 August 6 patch that includes gameplay adjustments, fixes and more. Read on below for the full notes.

Nioh 2 update 1.13 August 6 patch notes:

Adjustment
  • Increased the drop rate of sacred weapons in the “Emaki Mission” of “Sura no Yumeji” and “Hyakki Yayuki Emaki/Shura”
  • Adjusted the enemy’s physical strength and increased the enemy’s attack power when playing Tokuyo accompanied by 3 players
    *When played by 2 people, there is no change from Ver 1.12.
  • Adjusted the physical strength of the following bosses in “Shura no Yumeji”
    • Sickle weasel
    • Princess Nagabe
  • Adjusted the damage when hitting a weak point in “Shura no Yumeji”
  • Decreased the number of enemies appearing at the same time, enemy species, and timing in some “Emaki missions”
  • Changed to be able to get “Hyakuya no Kaori” with a certain probability if you can not get a picture scroll when you participate as a guest in the “Emaki Mission”

Report: Xbox Live Gold And Xbox Game Pass Are Currently Free

With rumors being shot down by Microsoft about Xbox Live Gold going free permanently, it would appear that the company is rolling out some free benefits for possibly an unannounced free weekend of gold and game pass.

Multiple reports have been surfacing from Xbox users, claiming that they are mysteriously gaining access to online multiplayer without a current subscription. Notably, it would appear that for those who don’t own any sub services are getting access to gold benefits, while those with a gold subscription are being granted access to the game pass library. While free Xbox Gold weekends are somewhat common, this would mark the first time that we see game pass being included in that promotion. From the reports, this is only affecting Xbox One systems with Xbox 360 users still requiring a subscription. No official announcement has been made from Microsoft yet, though it is a bit odd to see this right after the recent news of no planned changes for the Gold subscription. Even more stranger that it’s a Wednesday with the weekend technically not starting till Friday. However, this wouldn’t be the first time the company started one this early as they had one back in 2018 that started early Thursday morning.

Mortal Kombat 11 Featured In DC Fandome Teaser Trailer

The future of Mortal Kombat 11 may finally be revealed this month as it has been showcased as part of the DC Fandome lineup in a new teaser trailer.

Set to premier on August 22, DC Fandome is an all 24 hour access online event centered around the DC universe. This includes comics, tv series, movies, and even announcements made by WB games, who happens to be the publishers of the Mortal kombat franchise. While many are expecting them to announce the new Batman and Harry Potter games during this event, one thing that came as a surprise is the small glimpse of Mortal Kombat 11 during the teaser trailer. You can have a watch of this trailer down below.

Missed it? Well, we don’t blame you as it is for a quick second and even then some may be confused so here’s a still shot of the scene.

As you can see to the right there is a panel that features Baraka, a character from the Mortal Kombat series. This specific panel features him in his elseworld skin that released earlier this year for Mortal Kombat 11.  Of course, since the skin is that of killer crocs it could just be there for the purpose of fitting the DC theme. It’s a possibility, though as mentioned, WB Games are set to be featured in the show at some point. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this one, and hopefully we hear about the future of Mortal kombat 11 on August 22.

PlayStation Store Sale This Week – “Bethesda Softworks” & New Games Added to Summer Sale

Two weeks ago, Sony hosted the PlayStation Store Sale for the summer called the “Summer Sale,” which had a huge list of titles. There’s a PlayStation Store Sale this week as well, though it’s a publisher sale, and an existing game’s catalog  has been expanded with more games added.

Sperasoft Collaborating With 343 Industries in Halo Infinite Development

While we already know long-time Halo studio 343 Industries is hard at work on Halo Infinite, it seems the game going open world warranted some help from the studio, as it’s been anounced today that Sperasoft is helping with Halo Infinite development duties!

In a press release, Sperasoft (Saints Row The Third Remastered) announced that they are contributing to the game’s content across multiple development mandates, and are working closely with 343 Industries. Here’s what Denis Larkin, Chief Commercial Officer at Sperasoft had to say about the partnership:

It’s an honor to contribute to the most famous FPS series in the world and to support the next generation of the Halo franchise. Ourdevelopment teams are thrilled with our 343 Industries collaboration on the anticipated upcoming release: Halo Infinite.

More hands on deck should be welcome news to Halo fans given how Halo Infinite is the first entry in the series that’s going open world. That, and how 343 has mentioned how the camapign in Infinite is “several times larger” than the last two Halo campaigns put together.

In other Halo Infinite news, 343 Industries has announced that the Halo Infinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will run at 120 frames-per-second! There’s also no confirmation of a beta, though 343 is hopeful for one.

The Division 2 Skyscraper Mode Coming in TU11, Known Issues Listed

Agents looking for an update on Ubisoft Massive regarding The Division 2, we got that with today’s State of the Game devstream, though it isn’t much. The devs confirmed that The Division 2 Skyscraper mode will be rolled out in Title Update 11 (TU11), and how some changes are coming with it.

Read on for the known issues being addressed, and more. For those not familiar with what the Skyscraper mode is, it’ll something similiar to a horde mode of sorts, though this one will have players progressing through levels with enemies becoming harded on each floor, with the tenth floor acting as a checkpoint of sorts. More info on Skyscraper will be revealed later this month.

The Division 2 Skyscraper and TU11 confirmed changes:

TU11 PTS

  • There will be a TU11 PTS that is again PC only
  • No specific date as of now

Rainbow Loot

Will be looked into for TU11

Skyscraper

Will be added to the game with TU11.

More news about Skyscraper should be released “late August”

Who has access to this game mode will also be clarified when the talk about the game mode itself.

Huntsman Target is unlocked with a double XP event.

Apparel Event is over but you can still buy the remaining keys with Premium Credits.

Regarding a new content roadmap, sadly, that’s not in the cards right now. Ubisoft Massive did state that they are working on the game and will be able to give players more info soon. For now the confirmed content coming to The Division 2 is Season 3 and Season 4, and the Skysrcaper mode.

Modern Warfare Season 5 LMG Gameplay and Sgt. Frank Woods Voice Lines Datamined

While Infinity Ward just dropped the big Season 5 patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare yesterday, that’s enough time for people to dive in and datamine the patch data already. One of the big things datamined is what appears to be a Modern Warfare Season 5 LMG (lightmachine gun) that seems to be planned for the mid-season update.

Reliable Call of Duty dataminer BKTOOR has unearthed gameplay of it, much like his datamining of the AN-94 which is now available in Season 5.

In the Season 5 roadmap, you can cleary see an LMG with the words “Classified” across it:

In addition to that, Sgt. Frank Woods, which is a character from Treyarch’s Black Ops series, seems to be entering Modern Warfare and Warzone! His voice line has been unearthed, which you can check out below (at the 22:51 mark).

You can clearly hear him say, “This is Woods, I’m back in!” among other things. Of course, this adds weight to the notion that this year’s Call of Duty, which is said to be called Black Ops Cold War, will be revealed in Warzone — something Activision themselves have confirmed. Also, just last month, the offiical Call of Duty Instagram even snuck in Woods in celebrating Warzone’s success.

While we already know this year’s Call of Duty will be co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, we’re expecting Black Ops Cold War to be offciailly announced within the month, and hopefully, it’s with a bang.

Apex Legends New Character Teased, Something Will Be Revealed Tomorrow (Update)

Apex Legends players, there’s going to be something happening tomorrow, and it could very well be the announcement of Apex Legends Season 6 or maybe the reveal of anApex Legends new character.

Over on Twitter, the official Apex Legends account teased fans with a new recorded message of someone sounding like Bangalore.

Here’s what’s said in the 13-second voice clip:

“Hey, it’s Williams. Man, P! You already one? You ever sleep? Hiatus is coming up soon. I’ll swing by this weekend. Drinks are on me.”

Given the “Williams” name drop, and Bangalore’s real name being Anita Williams, that’s a logical assumption to make. Who’s “P” though? Hopefully, we’ll know tomorrow. Why tomorrow? Well, Respawn Entertainment annonced that something will be happening at 10 a.m. PDT tomorrow!

Tomorrow morning, 10am. See ya there, mates.

Update: This was release a minute ago by the official Apex account!

The new voice seems to be someone who’s middle-aged at least, and is a woman. She talks about a pistol being modded and this pistol being not in the best shape, and whether there’s a discount “among friends.”

Respawn says to keep an eye on the game’s official YouTube channel which suggests we’ll get a trailer at the very least.

In other Apex Legends news, EA announced that the Lost Treasures event amassed more than 90 million hours in its first two weeks of being out! If we’re getting a new legend, then this new season or event should claim that much game time as well.

Modern Warfare Season 5 Battle Pass Trailer Released, CDL Champs 2020 Pack Obtainable in Warzone

With Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone now in full swing, Activision is reminding everyone that there’s a new Battle Pass available as well. The Modern Warfare Season 5 Battle Pass trailer is here, and it gives us a look at what items we can earn if we have it.

Check out the new Operator skins, new weapon charms, new takeodwns and more!

Drop in with new weapons, new evolving operator skins, new gear, and more in #ModernWarfare and #Warzone with the Season Five Battle Pass.

In addition the trailer, Activision has announced that in anticipation of the upcoming Call of Duty League Championship, weapons featured in the CDL Champs 2020 Pack can now be found in legendary boxes throughout the world in Warzone.

Street Fighter 5 Season 5 New Fighters and Roadmap Revealed (Update)

As part of today’s Street Fighter 5 Summer Update livestream, Capcom has announced the Street Fighter 5 Season 5 new fighters and they are Dan, Rose, Oro and Akira Kazama from Rival Schools! In addition to that, the Season 5 roadmap has been revealed as well, and there’s a mystery new character that’s yet to be announced!

Here’s a quick look at when each character is scheduled to be released and with what stage or costume:

Street Fighter 5 Season 5 new fighters:

Winter 2020:

  • Dan

A mainstay from the Street Fighter Alpha series and last appearing in Street Fighter IV, Dan Hibiki will be bringing his (over) confidence and iconic “Taunt” to Street Fighter V. A training partner of Ryu and Ken, Dan considers himself well-equipped to “school” other players with his unique Saikyo-ryu (“Strongest Style”) fighting style. Release timing: Winter 2020

  • New Stage – CPT (2021) Stage
  • New Costume – Sporty Costumes x3, Nostalgia Costume, CPT (2021) Costumes x2, Fan Design Costumes x2
  • New Battle Mechanic
  • New Battle Balance

Spring 2021:

  • Rose

Rose is a fortune telling fan-favorite character who also previously starred in the Alpha series and Street Fighter IV. Using her tarot cards, Rose will arrive armed with a variety of unique special moves and plans to channel all of her Soul Power energy into Street Fighter V. Release timing: Spring 2021

  • New Stage – Rose Stage
  • New Costume – Professional Costumes x3

Summer 2021:

  • Oro

Last appearing in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Oro is an ancient martial arts master who exists as an immortal hermit. He restricts one of his arms from use in order to give his opponents an advantage, but that won’t stop Oro from being one of the most well-trained and powerful fighters in Street Fighter V. Release timing: Summer 2021

  • Akira Kazama

First introduced in Capcom’s 1997 fighting game Rival Schools: United by Fate, Akira Kazama is preparing to make her Street Fighter debut. As an acquaintance of Sakura, Akira has previous ties to the Street Fighter universe and is gearing up to bring her biker style look and clever gimmicks to Street Fighter V. Release timing: Summer 2021

  • New Stage – Akira Kazama Stage

Fall 2021:

  • New Character
  • New Stage – CPT (2022) Stage
  • New Costume – CPT (2022) Costumes x3

Those not familiar with Rival Schools, it’s another fighting franchise from Capcom, though it has been dormant for quite some time. The last Rival Schools title was released in 2000 as Project Justice: Rival Schools 2 in the arcades, and was then ported to the SEGA Dreamcast.

Once we know the official release date for Season 5, we’ll let our readers know.

Activision: Diablo Immortal Continuing to See “A Lot of Interest & Anticipation” From the Community

While Diablo fans are looking forward to the next major Diablo game in Diablo 4, some might have forgotten that the mobile platform is getting its own Diablo game in Diablo Immortal. Whle the game garnered a ton of dislikes on YouTube when it was first revealed, Activision says that they’ve continued to see a lot of “interest and anticipation” for the upcoming mobile RPG.

During yesterday’s quarterly financials earnings call, J. Allen Brack, President of Blizzard, was asked for an update on the game.

Mike Ng (Goldman Sachs): Hey. Good afternoon. Thank you for the question. It was encouraging to hear that Diablo Immortal was entering into an expanded company play test in the coming weeks. Could you just give us an update on your expectations for the Diablo Immortal regional testing plan? Thank you.

J. Allen Brack: Thanks for the question. As we talked about earlier, we are planning for the game to enter, we’re calling expanded internal testing this quarter. And internal testing is an important step for us, not only from an operational perspective, but also because you have many of those employees who are deeply engaged. We have quite a few extra players within the Company. And one of the employees that we have represent many aspects of our global community. From the very beginning, it was important to us to ensure that this is an authentic Blizzard quality Diablo experience for the huge community of Diablo players around the world. And so, it’s our intention to meet the expectations of those players everywhere.

The type of experience that the Diablo players have loved for over 20 years is one that we think is appealing to everyone, and we think that we’re working here on a deep and engaging RPG on mobile. And so, there’s a great potential for players in all regions who really love the game. And so, we’re more than willing to spend the time on it to get it right. We’ve continued to see a lot of interest and anticipation from the Diablo community and the games come along really well. We’re eager to get it into the players’ hands.

Well, there you have it, folks! Hopefully, this means we’ll get an authentic Diablo experience on mobile if the statement is anything to go by.
