Mortal Kombat 11 Halloween Icons Datamined, Includes Pennywise and Jason and More

The latest Mortal Kombat 11 patch has finally released on PC and Nintendo Switch, and as such with previous patches they have now been datamined to reveal that a Halloween event of some sort is on its way, bringing possibly some new  Mortal Kombat 11 icons and backgrounds.

The datamine comes courtesy of Mortal Kombat Warehouse, whom is ran by none other than Twitter user Murdoink, a number of items have been uncovered pertaining to Halloween. First up are some new icons. No info was found on whether these would be available as skins come Halloween, which would be ashamed as they have a few of the Mortal Kombat characters in some rather funny and iconic outfits.

First up in the Noob Saibot icon card, which features him and his shadow in a cat costume.

The next one is an Icon for Baraka, which many may find rather familiar as it strikes a close resemblance to Pennywise the Clown.

This one for D’Vorah. We aren’t sure who’s she’s dressing as.

And lastly for the Halloween themed items we have an icon feature Jade as a Witch, Liu Kang as a Skeleton, and Kabal as Jason for the Friday the 13th films.

And as a bonus, we are also getting one presumably around Thanksgiving as the data mine also uncovered a Kotal Kahn thanksgiving icon card.

Again no leak so far confirming whether any of these will be actual skin, though it would surely be a disappointment given how good both Jason and Pennywise outfits look on those characters. And speaking of leaked skins, a number of brand-new skins and new seasonal events have also been added in this latest update as seen in the tweet by Murdoink below.

As he notes, a lot of those are placeholders one and most appear to be just slightly different color variation of the same skin. One I’d like to point out though is the Johnny Cage one where he’s dressed in all purple with a green shirt, which is identical to that of the Joker. It wouldn’t surprise us if that were the case, as recently they added a Cassie Cage Harley Quinn Skin with the release of the Terminator DLC.

We’re sure we’ll be hearing more on this event in the coming weeks as we near Halloween.

The Division 2 Second Raid Delayed Into 2020

In case you didn’t know, The Division 2 will be getting a ton of new content come October 15 for Year 1 Pass holders, with regular game owners getting it on October 22. Unfortunately, buried under all that new stuff, Ubisoft Massive has also announced that The Division 2 second raid has been delayed into 2020.

According to Massive, based on feedback from the first raid — Operation Dark Hours — it became apparent to the studio that releasing The Division 2 second raid at this stage would not allow the studio to “deliver the optimum experience that you expect.” This extra development time will help Massive ensure the second raid meets the community’s standards.

This is a bummer for sure, but at least the studio is delaying it and giving it more love rather than rushing it just to tick off a number on its checklist, no? And remember, this one should be free for everyone, too.

Once we hear more news regarding the raid, we’l be sure to let our readers know.

Are you disappointed with this delay and what do you hope to see in The Division 2’s second raid?

Rumor: New Modern Warfare Prestige System Won’t Require Players to Unlock Items, Weapons to Have 80+ Levels

Just a few days ago, we reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be getting rid of the franchise’s tried-and-true Prestige system in favor of something “seasonal.” For those wondering how it’ll work, a new rumor has cropped up detailing the new Modern Warfare Prestige system.

Over on Twitter, reliable Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution has shared quite a lot of details regarding the new Modern Warfare Prestige system, though it most likely won’t be called that.  First off, Infinity Ward looks to be releasing new ranks/levels every season, with the biggest change here that players won’t need to unlock their items and weapons again after hitting the cap.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181991517126352898

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181991702174801920

In each Season, there are 100+ challenges that players can complete, and there are extra levels that get reset to 55 at the start of each Season.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181993157988360193

As a reward, players who complete seasonal challenges will get a ribbon to show off.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181993748689031169

Given how the Prestige system is the “grind” that makes a lot of people pour in hours upon hours in reaching max Prestige, what will players grind for now that this gameplay loop is done for? The answer is: weapons. There are said to be over 80+ weapon levels.

https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT/status/1181991246027530240

Note that this is not official information, and as such, should be taken with a grain of salt. There’s a chance that Infinity Ward is doing something else, and that TheGamingRevolution’s info is either incorrect, out of date, or so on. That said, he does have a very good track record with these things, so there’s most likely a shred of legitimacy to it.

Will fans embrace this new system though? We can’t say for sure until the game’s out this October 25.

Mortal Kombat 11 Arnold Schwarzenegger Easter Eggs

The Terminator is finally out for Mortal Kombat 11, and while fans of the series will no doubt recognize many of the Terminator movie references, NetherRealm Studios has taken things a step further include references from many past Arnold Schwarzenegger films. Subzero? More like Plainzero! We list down some of the Mortal Kombat 11 Arnold Easter eggs we’ve spotted so far.

The Running Man

Alright we’ll start with the one that literally wrote itself. For those who haven’t seen the Running Man, it’s a movie that takes place in a dystopian future where the major form of entertainment is watching convicted felons fight for their lives on national TV against champions, in hopes of winning their freedom. Well one of those champions just so happen to be named Sub Zero, and upon his death on Arnold, while looking at the camera yells the following dialogue.

“Here is Subzero! Now…PLAINZERO!!”

While this dialogue would have been better suited for his encounter with Subzero, the line is at least brought up in one of the intros with Jacqui Briggs where she asks the Terminator if it is true that Subzero is now Plainzero.

Before we move on, one thing I would like to mention and this may actually be a easter egg in itself is that a lot of the lines that the Terminator references are slightly different in a way that they don’t use shortenner suchs as “it’s”, but instead states them completely as “It is”. This may in fact be a reference to when Arnold was working on the Terminator where he stated to James Cameron that the machine should talk like that due to it’s intelligence and efficiency. This came up when Arnold had an issue with the famous “I’ll be back” line as he wanted to pronounce it as “I will be back”. We aren’t for certain, but we noticed with a lot of the dialogue that this is the case and if this was purposely done, well we need to say Netherrealm Studio you’ve really outdone yourself with that one there, though again it may just be the case of “reading” too much into it.

Last Action Hero

Johnny will say this during his intro with the Terminator “To be or not to be…not to be”. this is from the opening scene of Last Action hero when they parodied the classic tale of Hamlet.

Additionally there is a skin for the Terminator that gives him a brown jacket with a red shirt, which is the same color of Arnold’s outfit in the film.

Conan The Barbarian

One of Shao Kahn’s intro dialogue asks the Terminator to serve him in his aid of conquest, when asked what is his mission, Shao Kahn responds with “To crush my enemies and see them driven before me”. This is a direct quote from Conan The Barbarian.

Predator

Cassie Cage makes a mention of getting to the choppa, a famous line for Predator.

In the Terminator intros with Baraka, the Terminator will quote two other lines of dialogue, the first being “If you bleed. I can kill you”, which was “If it bleeds, we can kill it” in the film, and the other line being “Ugly Motherfucker” which is said at the end of the Predator when the monster takes it’s mask off.

Total Recall

In an exchange with Johnny Cage, the Terminator asks to be brought to Sarah Connor in which Cage responds with “Think of me as your Johnny cab” It’s a clever play with his name, but also a direct reference to the driver-less Johnny Cabs.

Cassie Cage also references Total Recall as she says to the Terminator “You wouldn’t hurt me, would you sweetheart?”, which is the same line Douglas Quaid (Arnold’s character) wife says to him before attacking him.

Jax asks how long the Terminator has been here, the response: Two Weeks.

Liu Kang – Your Mars has blue skies? Terminator – I can RECALL those files TOTALly. Obviously a clever way of concealing Total Recall title, but the blue skies is a direct reference to the ending of the film where the heroes save Mars by giving it a breathable atmosphere.

Jingle All the Way

In the movie, Jingle All the Way, Arnold plays a character who is constantly working and has no time for his son. To try and make it up to him, he decides to buy his son the latest Holiday craze, the Turbo Man Action Figure. Things quickly go south as he finds himself locked in combat against a postal worker played by Sinbad, over the last Turbo Man figure. Yeah as you guess this movie didn’t fair to well with the audiences, and it didn’t help that Arnold was at a pretty weird point in his acting career with other titles such as Kindergarten Cop, Twins and Junior. Anyway, this reference is brought up during a intro between the Terminator and Kabal when the Terminator requests Kabal to show him his speed and Kabal then states “its Turbo time!!”

Kindergarten Cop

And speaking of this film, the infamous “It’s not a tumor” quote is used during the interaction with Jacqui Briggs where she mentions the Terminator having a thick neck.

True Lies

There are actually two mentions of to the film True Lies. The first being between Johnny Cage when the Terminator asks if he has ever killed anyone.

The next one is with Jade, the Terminator claims that Johnny Cage had given her the codename “Doris”, which is the codename Arnold’s character gives to his wife in the film. Yea, this was an easy one to miss and I’m more surprised at myself for even remembering it.

Terminator Movies

Well, it wouldn’t be a list of Arnold quotes if it didn’t include anything from The Terminator films themselves. Down below will be a list of quotes said in-game along with their actual quotes and movie their from. We won’t include Legion (Terminator Dark Fate) references in this list as the film isn’t even out yet and a lot the in game characters interchange the word with Skynet. If you do hear Legion mentioned in the game though it is from Terminator Dark Fate.

Erron Black: Can’t bargain or reason with ya can I? Terminator 1 – It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with.
Shang Tsung: You feel no pity or remorse? Terminator 1 – It doesn’t feel pity or remorse

That is outside my mission perimeter. Terminator in general, though in Terminator 2 it mentions obeying John Connor is one of its mission perimeter.
Frost interaction: I am not program to obey you. Again, terminator in general. In Terminator 2 he was programmed to obey John Connor, in Terminator 3 the Terminator states to John Connor” I am not programmed to follow your orders.”

Erron Black to The Terminator: Hasta la vista baby (Terminator 2)

Terminator Outro – I see now why you cry (Terminator 2 ending)

Chill Out, Jax. In Terminator 2 the line is “Chill out, Dickwad”

Jax to the Terminator – You just can’t go around killing people. You just can’t trust me. (Terminator 2)

Jacqui Briggs asking if the Terminator is there to kill her- “Of course, I’m a Terminator” Terminator 2 – In the same scene above John Connor stops the Terminator from killing a guy, asking if he was gonna kill him.

Cassie Cage/Terminator Intro – In one of the intros that is available for the Terminator, the character walks in with a shotgun concealed in a Johnny Cage action figure box. In Terminator 2 he does the exact same thing, however it is with a box of roses. Cassie Cage makes a mention of this asking about the lack of roses.

The Terminator has glasses accessories that will have one side lit up red, a call back to the first film. The Terminator also asks Kano if he is a Terminator due to his exposed metallic face and red eye.

One of the Terminator intro has the character stepping on a picture of Cassie cage. In Terminator 1 this is a picture of Sarah Connor.

Sonya Blade/Sarah Connor – Sarah Connor? This is from the first Terminator movie when the Terminator is knocking on doors asking for Sarah.

In the same dialogue with Sonya Blade the Terminator mentions that she is also marked for termination. This is obviously due to the similarities both characters share, and in fact Sonya has a Sarah Connor skin that was released in this latest patch.

SPOILERS

In the Terminator tower ending, the character comes to the conclusion that no matter how many times Skynet tries to change the future, it will always lead to its destruction. It eventually decides that the ensure both survive, they must coexist together, and it achieves this with Konika’s Hourglass. Wanting to ensure the Hourglass never gets used again, the Terminator sinks himself in the sea of blood while waving goodbye. This is in reference to the ending of Terminator 2, where the Terminator sacrifices himself in a steel of lava, while giving a thumbs up to John Connor.

END SPOILER

YouTube Nick and Autumn posted a video comparing the Terminators Intros/Outro with their film counterpart

.

Batman & Robin

Terminator to Subzero – This one may be a stretch, although it does fit. In the intro between terminator and Subzero, Terminator asks if Subzero commands the cold, in which he states there is no better Cryomancer only for the Terminator to ask him to prove it. This may be due to the fact that Arnold played as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin

Matrix

Another one we aren’t 100% sure of, though we suspect it might be a reference to The Matrix.  In an exchange between Kano, the Terminator states that he needs guns from the black market dealer, all of them. The line in the Matrix has a character asking what neo needs, in which he states “Guns. Lots of Guns.” Again we aren’t 100% sure on this one, though it does in the least match up somewhat.

It can also be viewed as a call back to Terminator 1 when The Terminator is shopping at the gun store and loading up a rather large arsenal of weapons.

These are all the ones that really stuck out to us, and I’m sure there’s many others out there but in the least it is pretty fun being able to spot these cool references throughout the DLC.

Thrustmaster PS4 eSwap Pro Controller Announced and It Looks Amazing

There’s a new customizable PlayStation 4 controller that’ll be hitting the market real soon, and its by the makers of popular flight sticks and racing wheels, Thrustmasters. Officially called the Thurstmaster eSwap Pro Controller, this new controller offers more than just paddles and back buttons. For the full list of features of the Thrustmaster PS4 eSwap controller, check out the video and details below.

You can watch the trailer down below, which will show you all the cool things the controller can do.

Description from the official website:

ULTIMATE VERSATILITY

The adjustable positioning of the modules on the controller — either right in the middle of a game, or when you’re not playing — lets adapt the right configuration for the best possible fit with players needs, or those of the team.

The controller’s shape and ergonomics have been designed for a perfect fit with all gaming styles: combat, sports, FPS/TPS, battle royale and even RPG.

SURGICAL PRECISION

Flawless responsiveness — thanks to the tact switches incorporated into each module and button — is a must when it comes to boosting your chances of victory.

Responsive clear clicks feeling mechanically increase the sensation of control, so gamers will never have to worry about response times while playing.

Enjoy more than 5,000,000 activations on all buttons and more than 2,000,000 activations for the pre-calibrated mini-sticks.

DESIGNED FOR THE RANKED

T-MOD modular technology and Hot-Swap feature, for effective in-game performance, gives players the edge they need to react instantly in any situation and improve their rankings.

The controller’s sturdy braided cable allows for a stable, rock-solid wired connection and avoids any calibration problems, latency issues or inadvertent disconnection.

Personally I’m not a big fan of the design, though the amount of customization certainly helps make up for that. Unfortunately for those (including us) that live in either Americas, we’ll be out of luck as the controller isn’t currently slated for release here, or at least as far as we know. If you do want an alternative, for those living in the America regions then we can only suggest you look into a SCUF controller, or possibly other third parties. Thrustmaster eSwap Pro controller for the PlayStation 4 will be the third officially licensed by PlayStation controller to hit the market, the other two being by Nacon and Razor. PlayStation themselves have yet to officially release one developed by themselves, which is why we have so many official third party controllers.

Thrustmaster PlayStation eSwap Pro Controller will be launching on November 5, 2020. If you want to pre-order it right now, you can visit their official website here to find which local retailer will be selling them. It will only be available in the current markets on November 5:  Europe, Africa, Middle-East , Russia , India and Oceania.

The Division 2 Episode 2 Release Date Announced, Check Out the New Trailer and What’s Coming

The Division 2 players, Ubisoft has announced the date of the next content drop for the looter shooter! In a press release, Ubisoft has announced The Division 2 Episode 2 release date! Called “Episode 2 – Pentagon: The Last Castle,” this free DLC will be released on October 15 for Year 1 Pass holders and UPLAY+ subscribers, while everyone else will get it on October 22.

Episode 2 will include a new PvP mode, new main missions, gameplay fixes and more.

Two New Main Missions

At the beginning of Episode 2, players will investigate a transmission from a fellow Agent scouting the Pentagon for the perfusion bioreactor. Securing the bioreactor would allow Agents to replicate the antiviral samples recovered at Tidal Basin. Agents must navigate flood damage and Black Tusk forces to take back The Last Castle. After securing their safe house, players will be able to access the two replayable main missions of Episode 2

  • First Main Mission – Pentagon: Agents will discover the location of the perfusion bioreactor inside the Pentagon’s underground research facility. The Black Tusk have already infiltrated the lab and are attempting to extract the reactor.
  • Second Main Mission – DARPA Research Labs: Players must make their way through the Pentagon and into the DARPA Labs, as the Black Tusk are in the process of transporting the perfusion bioreactor through an abandoned Cold War tunnel network.

New “Technician” Specialization: Effective October 15, Year 1 pass holders and UPLAY+ subscribers will instantly unlock the Technician Specialization. Players who do not own the Year 1 pass can unlock the specialization by completing a series of objectives. Additional rewards, including a signature weapon skin, are also available once the specialization is unlocked. The latest specialization includes:

  • Signature Weapon: P-017 Launcher – a multi-missile launcher. Agents can lock-on and hit up to six enemies (depending on available ammo). With a simple push of a button, six missiles are unleashed to seek out their targets.
  • Sidearm: Maxim 9
  • Skill Variant: Artificer Hive
  • Grenade Mod: EMP Grenade

Classified Assignments (Exclusive only to Year 1 Pass holders and UPLAY+ subscribers): Agents can take on two new Classified Assignments at a Boathouse and Embassy.

  • Marina: Outcasts have been moving weapons and supplies into a boathouse on the Potomac River, which was used as a transport depot during the outbreak to move assets to the Potomac Center and Roosevelt Island. Agents must investigate and seize all the weapons they can find.
  • Embassy: A Joint Task Force helicopter filled with supplies was shot down by the Outcasts and crashed through the roof of the Mexican Embassy in Washington D.C. Agents will be tasked to locate the helicopter, rescue the pilot and secure the supplies before the Outcasts get there.

The latest title update also brings an unprecedented number of fixes and improvements, as well as a brand new PvP mode.
Major Fixes and Improvements

Players will see significant game improvements in The Division 2 effective October 15. These improvements were developed thanks to community feedback on game forums and following last month’s Elite Task Force workshop, during which community members visited Ubisoft Massive studio in Malmö, Sweden to share thoughts and ideas about the game. Fixes and improvements include:

  • Targeted Loot
  • Named Items overhauled
  • Crafting Changes
  • Recalibration Changes
  • Filled Brands
  • Inventory Management 2.0
  • Increased stash space
  • Rebalance of talents and weapons
  • Dark Zone Server Transfers
  • Updated Thieves’ Den Vendor
  • Dark Zone Supply Drops Changes
  • Occupied Dark Zone Ambushes
  • Normalization in Dark Zone changes
  • Conflict: Loadout Selection during map voting
  • Bonus armor visualization increased
  • Conflict: End of Match Rewards changes
  • Stored tutorials

New Conflict PvP Mode

The new Team Elimination PvP mode pits two teams of four into a best-of-seven round battle in D.C. Rounds will end once an entire team has been eliminated or time has expired. Team Elimination provides a teamwork focused tactical experience for players. Team Elimination takes effect on October 15.
New map: The “Wharf”

The new map ‘Wharf’ is on par with previous PvP maps in terms of size and takes players to an abandoned fishing harbor. It offers tactical gameplay opportunities, through flanking routes and raised positions.

Expect a patch to drop next week for this new content as part of Title Update 6, and once it’s live, we’ll be sure to let our readers know ASAP.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC Requirements for Minimum & Recommended Listed, 175GB Required

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare set to assault consoles (PS4, Xbox One), and PC in a matter of weeks, Activision has now revealed the Modern Warfare PC requirements for both minimum and recommended specs.

Listed over on Battle.net, check out the minimum and recommended requirements below.

Modern Warfare PC requirements – minimum:

Operating System

Windows® 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows® 10 64-bit

Processor

Intel® Core™ i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300

Video

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 670 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 – DirectX 12.0 compatible system

Memory

8 GB RAM

Storage

175 GB available hard drive space

Internet

Broadband Internet connection

Modern Warfare PC requirements – recommended:

Operating System

Windows® 10 64-bit latest update

Processor

Intel® Core™ i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen™ R5 1600X Processor

Video

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon™ R9 390 / AMD Radeon™ RX 580 – DirectX 12.0 compatible system

Memory

12 GB RAM

Storage

175 GB available hard drive space

Internet

Broadband Internet connection

What’s interesting here is the 175GB of disk space needed by the game, which is a bit too much People on the Modern Warfare subreddit are even asking if this is a typo, or the game really is just this big (or whether it wasn’t compressed efficiently). Of course, there’s the inevitable day one update as well, which has become standard now for most AAA games to have at launch.

Those who are thinking of getting the game, best prepare your ‘net, and be ready to pre-load since it will take a while.

In other Modern Warfare news, go check out the new Spec Ops trailer that got released yesterday; we also posted a ton of info about the mode as well. For those looking forward to multiplayer, Infinity Ward has spoken out on the game’s microtransactions system and claims it will offer a “direct path” for players to earn content.

Apex Legends Update 1.21 Rolled Out and Here’s What’s in It

Respawn Entertainment has sprung a new Apex Legends update today, and it seems this one wasn’t announced in advance, which means there’s really no new content players should be looking forward to in it. Apex Legends update 1.21 is out on PS4 and Xbox One, and is at 1GB.

Checking the Apex Legends subreddit, users have commented that it’s for the Loot Room keys, so players can now shoot the flying bots for a chance to get a key to unlock one of the vault rooms. Note that Reddit user ArkhamsNextTopInmate commented that the vault door had a timer counting down to this exact update release time, and with people finding keys, well, put two and two together.

Aside from that, Respawn Entertainment has not made any official announcements regarding it. Once we do get official info (which might be unlikely), we’ll update the post.

Of course, there is the chance that this patch also includes data for the upcoming Apex Legends Halloween event called Fight or Fright. If this is indeed it, expect stuff to be datamined soon.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure to read up on the latest patch notes that affected gameplay, weapon balance here. We also posted the new map overview of Season 3 as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops Details – Roles, Operations & More Revealed

Earlier today, Activision dropped the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops trailer that showed us some of the stuff we should expect in the mode. However, that’s not all we’re getting today, as a trove of Modern Warfare Spec Ops details have been revealed as well.

In Spec Ops, there are Roles (read: classes), cross-progression rewards, and lots more!

Operations: As you infil into one of the many war-torn zones within Special Ops, you and your team have full latitude on how to accomplish your Operations. This Special Ops game mode is a 4 player matchmade activity centered around interconnected experiences that take the form of objectives, each culminating in the removal or destruction of a key logistical aspect of the Al-Qatala army.

At launch, there will be four Operations available with more scheduled to drop throughout the post-launch Seasons.

Missions: Complementing the multi-stage Operations, and also available across all platforms, are additional Missions, which can be played solo or with up to four players. Whereas Operations give you the widest breadth of strategic and tactical choice, Missions are a more curated experience where your proficiency with specific weapons, killstreaks, and other tools will be tested. These Missions are extremely replayable, and you’re able to achieve a 1, 2, or 3-star ranking based on your performance. Naturally, there will be an “Infinity Ward time” that you can attempt to beat!

Given how Survival mode has caused quite a stir since it’s exclusive to the PS4 for a year, Infinity Ward has clarified that all Operations and Missions will be available across all platforms at launch, and through the post-launch Seasons.

Mode Cross-Progression Rewards: As you complete any of the Special Ops content, expect to receive impressive rewards for your combat expertise. Examples include additional unlockable items and equipment that can be utilized in both Multiplayer and Special Ops Modes.

Now you have even more incentive to test Spec Ops out since it’ll be available in multiplayer, too.

An Uneasy Alliance: The Armistice Fireteam: As these Operations involve a temporary alliance between Coalition and Allegiance forces, you’re free to pick any Operator you wish. Old differences are set aside. For now!

Cross-Mode Loadouts: Next you can bring your preferred Loadouts, including your preferred Primary and Secondary Weapons, Perks, and Tactical and Lethal Equipment so you’re comfortable in this new combat zone. Got a favored Sniper Rifle or Shotgun that you’ve meticulously crafted, and tailored to your playstyle? Bring it along!

Know Your Roles: Specific to Special Ops are “Roles”: Prior to dropping into play, you’re able to pick from Assault, Recon, Engineer, Demolition, Medic, and Heavy. Each role comes equipped with a Field Upgrade and a class-specific perk. Pick the Role that best suits and reinforces your style of play.

Killstreaks: Prior to beginning an Operation, you’re able to pick three types of Munitions that offer a similar effect to Killstreaks in Multiplayer Mode. Those Munition boxes aren’t part of your equipment but are rather located in a random location across the map; it’s up to you to find and utilize them, whether you’ve chosen (for example) a Precision Airstrike or a Gunship to aid you.

As you can see, Spec Ops is a full-fledged mode that seems to cater to players that are more team-oriented. Will this replace Treyarch’s Zombies mode as the co-op mode of choice in future Call of Duty games?

Will you be diving into Spec Ops come October 25 or it’s strictly multiplayer and the campaign for you? Speaking of, go check out the launch trailer that showcases what to expect in the campaign.

Latest PS5 News Mention New 100GB Discs, USB Type C Confirmed & More

With today’s big PS5 release window news out of the way, it looks like we still have a lot of news regarding Sony’s upcoming console to wade through, as the latest PS5 news has made its way courtesy of WIRED’s feature on the console.

PlayStation 5

End of 2020 release window
AMD Ryzen CPU
AMD Navi GPU
No HDD, but with an SSD
Ray tracing directly on sound and graphics hardware
100GB optical disks (probably BD)
4K BD Player
Change in game installation
New interface, integrated with games and friends activities
DualShock 5 will have adaptive triggers, where the required pressure changes according to the game.
Better “vibration” on buttons and speaker on control for better effects
Gran Turismo Sport has been ported to the PS5
Charging with USB Type C, heavier than DS4 (but lighter than Xbox One) and larger battery.

In addition to that, video game insider Nibel has made a summary of sorts regarding the feature which you can check out below.

– Official name is PlayStation 5
– Ray tracing support is hardware based
– New SSD will help boot times, loading times and streaming
– Controller has now adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, new speakers, USB Type-C
– PlayStation 5 devkit is real and that developers already have access to both the devkit and the new controller
– better DS5 battery
– heavier than DualShock 4, but lighter than a XBO controller with batteries in it
– haptic feedback could have been included in the PS4 Pro but they decided against it
– Wired also seems to speculate that game installs will be more modular and that you can choose which parts to install/uninstall (SP/MP/both) They also mention a “completey revamped user interface” that allows you to join multiplayer activities instantly from the OS for example

Let’s hope we get the proper price point and hardware look soon too.

Destiny 2 Update Today – Here’s What Got Fixed in Hotfix 2.6.0.3 and Includes Changes Not Mentioned in Changelog

With today’s Destiny 2 maintenance hitting an issue that thankfully was resolved fast, some might not know that there was also a Destiny 2 update today. Note that this is a hotfix via server-side, which means players won’t get a prompt to download a patch.

Destiny 2 update today hotfix 2.6.0.3 changelog (via Bungie):

GENERAL

  • Fixed an issue where claiming a Seasonal Artifact during a locked loadout activity could block access to the Artifact

While that’s the only thing in Bungie’s official patch notes for the Destiny 2 update today, there’s also another big change that snuck its way in but this one is for the PvP portion. Long story short, the hotfix also reduced the amount of Heavy ammo in Control, Clash and Supremacy.

Here’s Bungie’s take on it (via Bungie forums):

Control will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 45 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 45 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

Clash and Supremacy will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 15 seconds and then every 60 seconds.

We don’t have server-side settings to change up the new 3v3 Survival mode but do plan to make the following changes in an update later this month.

Survival will soon have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then again 60 seconds later just as the tiebreaker objective spawns. It is currently spawning in at 30 seconds and then every 60 seconds. The amount of heavy ammo granted will be reduced to match the amounts in Elimination and the 6v6 modes. We saw a lot of feedback about making heavy one round or being removed but wanted to make sure there was still an incentive for players to maintain map control and not camp at the edge of the map once they have a life advantage. We will continue to monitor feedback on these changes.

Make sure to check out this week’s Destiny 2 Weekly Reset list of rewards and challenges.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Spec Ops Trailer Shows Teamwork and a Bit of Gameplay

Today, Activision and Infinity Ward have released our first look at the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Special Ops! Called “Spec Ops,” in past Call of Duty games, this game mode values teamwork more than anything else, which is highlighted in this Modern Warfare Spec Ops trailer!

Modern Warfare Microtransactions System to Be a “Direct Path to Content for Players” Says Infinity Ward

While we’ve seen rumors crop up regarding the inevitable Call of Duty: Modern Warfare microtransactions system, Infinity Ward, for the first time, touched upon it, and based on face value, it seems they’re trying to do the right thing here.

Over on the Modern Warfare subreddit, Infinity Ward Art Director Joel Emslie responded to a user, and said that they are making the Modern Warfare microtransactions different from Black Ops 4’s, and that they’re making it in a way so that it’s a “direct path to content for players.”

I appreciate the gesture and you and IW immensely. You can tell the game has a lot of hard work going into it. We just want clear answers on the MTX system specifically because BO4’s MTX system existed purely to wring the consumer out of money, and we’d hate to see that happen to MW. It isn’t your choice though, and only Activi$ion’s, but a little clarity would be nice.

Joel Emslie (IW): Thank you for the kind words about the effort we put into the game and I’m sorry for such a delayed response. What I can say is that we are focused on making a different system for Modern Warfare, one with a direct path to content for players.

While Emslie didn’t go into specifics, this is definitely good news. Does this mean weapons won’t be in Supply Drops? Maybe not, but if Infinity Ward stick to their guns, maybe it’s done in a way like in Call of Duty: WWII, where players can take on contracts with the weapon itself being the reward upon completion.

Speaking of Modern Warfare microtransactions, a rumor has surfaced stating that the MTX system will be “decent” at launch, but will “get nasty” over time.

In terms of microtransactions, what do you hope to see and not see in Modern Warfare? Share your thoughts below in the comments.

DOOM Eternal New Release Date Announced, Delay Due to Polish

Those looking forward to slaying some new demons in DOOM Eternal, that’s going to have to wait a few more months, as Bethesda has announced that DOOM Eternal has been delayed to 2020! The DOOM Eternal new release date is set for March 20, 2020 (nice ring to it, no?) instead of November 22, 2019.

In the press release sent out, Bethesda mentions that to “live up” to their standards of “speed and polish,” they’ve made the decision to extend (read: delay) the launch of DOOM Eternal a few months.

In addition to the DOOM Eternal new release date, a couple of other things were included in the same press release.

  • Invasion Mode, which will allow you to enter another player’s game as a playable demon, will release as a free update shortly after launch.
  • DOOM Eternal for Nintendo Switch will release after the other platforms. We will announce that date in the future.
  • DOOM 64 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in addition to Nintendo Switch. We are adding DOOM 64 as a pre-order bonus for DOOM Eternal on all platforms so you’ll be able to download and play this classic game, for free, just for pre-ordering DOOM Eternal. DOOM 64 will be released on March 20, 2020 on all platforms.

Check out the latest DOOM Eternal gameplay video that shows us an overview of Battlemode.
