First In-Game Look at Call of Duty Rambo and John Mclane Operators

With Activision bringing 80’s action heroes Rambo and John McClane from Die Hard into the game with the introduction of the Season 3 Reloaded update, some might be wondering what the characters actually look like. Thankfully, you don’t even need to boot the game up to see, as we’ve posted our first look at what the Call of Duty Rambo and John McClane operators look like in-game when they’re available starting tomorrow, May 20!

Rambo:

John McClane:

Yep, those look like good digital representations of Sly Stallone and Bruce Willis, yes?

Don’t forget, both operator skins will be included in each characters’ respective bundles starting tomorrow, and will include the following items:

Rambo Operator Bundle:

This Operator will be available via the “Rambo” bundle in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Store from May 19 at 9PM PT to June 18 at 9PM PT. This bundle includes the Legendary Operator; two Finishing Moves, including one using his signature bow and arrow; three Legendary Weapon Blueprints—an assault rifle, an LMG and a Knife Blueprint; a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem; and an Epic Watch and Charm.

John McClane Bundle:

John McClane will be available via the “Die Hard” bundle in the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Store from May 19 at 9PM PT to June 18 at 9PM PT. This bundle includes the Legendary Operator, a Finishing Move, three Legendary Weapon Blueprints—one tactical rifle, two SMG, and one assault rifle—a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem, an Epic Watch, and an Epic Weapon Charm.

Will you be buying the bundles tomorrow to play as your one of your fave 80’s action heroes? Who do you want to see show up next? Perhaps Arnie? Jet Li perhaps?

Marvel’s Avengers Endgame Skins Drop Tomorrow for Hulk and Iron Man

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Square Enix’s Avengers game will want to keep their attention on the game store, as Marvel’s Avengers Endgame skins drop tomorrow for Hulk and Iron Man — as they appeared in the Marvel Studios film that saw the Infinity Saga come to an epic conclusion.

Wearing a grey and purple jumpsuit and symbolizing the union between Bruce Banner’s mind with the Jade Giant’s strength, Endgame’s Hulk is commonly referred to as Smart Hulk by fans — and will be one of the new skins that players can purchase starting May 20 in Marvel’s Avengers!

Following his defeat at the hands of Thanos and returning to Earth to reunite with the surviving Avengers, Tony Stark has spent the last five years living his life and building a family by marrying Pepper Potts and having a daughter — but the man who is Iron Man still tinkers and makes suits… Including the powerful Mark 85 nanotech armor that appears in Avengers Endgame! This skin will be available to players as well starting May 20!

Marvel’s Avengers update 1.37 recently rolled out, which you can read details about here.

Marvel’s Avengers is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.

Elite Dangerous Update 1.53 May 19 Flies Out, PC Gets Odyssey Today

Commanders, Frontier Developments has released the Elite Dangerous update 1.53 May 19 patch for consoles, and PC got a bigger one that brings in the “Odyssey” content! Console gamers will have to wait until autumn for Odyssey to make its way onto your platforms.

Elite Dangerous Update 1.53 May 19 Patch Notes:

No official changelog for the console version has been shared, but here’s what we know so far regarding Odyssey and what’s planned.

PC release – late spring 2021
Following the completion of our Alpha phase we are targeting a full launch on PC in late spring.

As with every era in Elite Dangerous’ history, we will be closely engaging with our community and continuing to react to feedback refining Odyssey through to the console launch.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey pre orders will be able to access the game with this release.

Console release – autumn 2021

After continued feedback, iterations and balancing, we are targeting our release on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One in the autumn of this year.

We understand that for many, this additional delay will be frustrating. Once again, we would like to apologise wholeheartedly to our community, especially our console Commanders. However, as mentioned previously, we feel it is vital to ensure that the content being released on consoles meets the highest standards and this will require this additional extension to our roadmap.

Throughout this time we will continue to bring more news, videos and content of the development in progress. We would like to thank you all for the ongoing support and we are very excited to bring in this new era to the game with you. Your feedback, support and involvement is a vital part of this process and we are looking forward to a shared Alpha experience, which will be touching down very soon.

Once the studio releases the official patch notes for console, we’ll update the post.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Gets New Trailer, Premieres on Netflix This July 8

Get ready to join survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield once more in a new adventure that takes place years after Resident Evil 2, as the CG animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness gets a new trailer — and the show premieres on Netflix starting this July 8!

Here’s the new trailer showing fans what’s coming next for Leon and Claire as they deal with a new biohazard conspiracy and outbreak.

If you’re lost and wondering what the whole show’s plot is about, here’s the official synopsis from Netflix.

In 2006, there were traces of improper access to secret Presidential files found in the White House’s network. American federal agent Leon S. Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident, but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies. Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a youth in a country she visited, while providing support to refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which appears to be of a victim of viral infection, Claire starts her own investigation. The next morning, Claire visits the White House to request the construction of a welfare facility. There, she has a chance reunion with Leon and uses the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to realize some sort of connection between the zombie outbreak at the White House and the strange drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no relation and leaves. In time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant countries lead to events that shake the nation to its very core.

We reported on Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness a couple of months back during the last RE Showcase, and the RE2 Remake voice actors of Leon and Claire are back for this series — which you can read about here.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness premieres on Netflix on July 8.

The Last of Us 2 Update 1.08 Adds 60FPS Support for PS5

Today, Naughty Dog announced that a new update would be available today, for The Last of Us Part 2, which enables full 60FPS when playing on the PS5. Talk about a big surprise! Here are the full details on The Last of Us 2 Update 1.08.

The Last of Us 2 Update 1.08 Patch Notes

Size: 171.1 MB

  • Added support to toggle target framerate between 30 FPS and 60 FPS on PS5 consoles.

We are still waiting on the full official notes to see if this update adds anything else, but for now we know that there is a new 60FPS option from within the game’s settings.

Trailer for the Last of Us 2 60FPS Update

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vKTikTO4dE

How to Play The Last of Us 2 at 60FPS

To enable 60FPS in the Last of Us 2, all players have to do is go into settings and navigate to the display screen. Here, they will see a new toggle option that allows them to flip between 30FPS (resolution mode) or 60FPS (performance mode). This option is only available when playing on the PS5.

While the PS5 does offer higher frame-rate and faster loading when playing The Last of Us 2 from it’s SSD, it’s also important to note that this isn’t a native PS5 port. All these improvements are unlocked via backwards compatibility. This means that there is still potentially more room for improvement should Naughty Dog ever release an actual PS5 port. There is no news whether they plan to, but they did close off their blog post with the following statement about working on the PS5.

The team has been digging into the PS5 hardware and the possibilities it unlocks since launch last year and we’re excited about what the future holds. This patch is just the first step of working on the PS5. We’ll let you know when we’ve got more news to share!

Perhaps they mean their next game, but there is also the faction mode that they are developing for The Last of Us 2. Chances are, we will see that at least available on the PS5.

House of Ashes Teaser Trailer Released to Promote May 27 Gameplay Reveal

Get ready to step into another chapter of The Dark Pictures Anthology saga, as House of Ashes gets a brand new teaser trailer released to promote the May 27 gameplay reveal of the game!

Check out the teaser trailer below.

It’s a pretty substantial teaser trailer, and one that should give fans an idea of the terror that waits a couple of soldiers who unfortunately end up somewhere where ancient evil forces await.

Here’s the overview for the game courtesy of Bandai Namco’s press release.

In The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, the year is 2003, and in the shadow of the Zagros mountains in Iraq, a military unit comes under fire from Iraqi forces. The resulting firefight causes a heavy tremor, opening up a rift in the earth that swallows both sides, causing soldiers to fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. With all communication severed, our protagonists are trapped in a terrifying underworld they must navigate to escape, unaware that something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and has found a new prey to hunt.

The last House of Ashes teaser gave us an idea of the setting of the game, and we covered that right here in case you missed it.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes hits PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on 2021.

    • Photo mode can be accessed from the pause menu in all single-player modes
    • Share your photos with us on Twitter – tag us on Twitter @PlayDestruction!
  • Added Ratu’s Story Mode to Destruction AllStars
    • Available for 400 Destruction Points
  • Fixed vehicle collisions not awarding score points to players
  • Fixed players not being able to buy the AllStar Pass
  • Back-end changes made to mitigate & improve the challenges not progressing issue.

We’ll continue to be monitoring this issue after this fix has gone live. It’s been quite hard to reproduce as it’s happening only to some players and only some of the time. We do have another fix in line if this one doesn’t work, it would just require more back and front end changes to happen, which would take slightly longer to push live. Though hopefully we won’t need to worry about that.

That’s about it for this patch. Once we get wind of the next one, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

NEW WEAPON TUNING

This update brings two new rounds of weapon tuning to Black Ops Cold War: one for all modes, and one specific to Zombies. The first is a global tuning pass for all sniper rifles, assault rifles, LMGs, and pistols to help each weapon stand out on its own and play to its strengths. This includes adding a custom flinch effect to all snipers and individualizing ADS momentum for each sniper rifle. Read on below for developer commentary from the team on each of these updates.

The second round of weapon tuning raises the power of most of the Black Ops Cold War arsenal in Zombies to ensure each weapon is a viable choice in any situation. See below for details on the full list, and when in doubt… aim for the head.

Here’s what’s coming to Black Ops Cold War when our mid-season update goes live at 9PM PT May 19 / 12AM ET May 20 – for Warzone patch notes, please visit the blog at RavenSoftware.com.

Weapon Tuning

  • All Sniper Rifles

In this update, we’re revising sniper rifles with two goals in mind:

  • To create more meaningful gameplay between sniper rifles and other weapon classes.
  • To better define the role of each sniper rifle to give them more individuality and specialization.

To those ends, the following updates have been made:

Custom Flinch: We’ve created a sniper-specific flinch that moves the weapon aim while being hit. This flinch is more pronounced in ADS. Attachments that reduce flinch have been factored into this feature update.

ADS Momentum: ADS (Aim Down Sight) Momentum is now individualized for each sniper rifle. ADS Momentum is that feeling of weightiness as the weapon exits and re-enters ADS. You feel this when you rapidly exit and enter ADS, without fully returning fully to the hip position. Heavier sniper rifles will now feel weightier and re-acquire ADS slower accordingly. Please note that ADS Momentum is not used when entering ADS from the full hip-fire position.

As the next step in making each sniper rifle stand out even further in its own right, we’ve made the following changes across the weapon class. As always, we’re committed to evaluating and adjusting weapon stats as necessary once these updates are live based on game data and feedback.

LW3 – Tundra

This is the baseline of our sniper rifles. It is lenient enough in its one-hit kill capacity while being fast enough to scan the horizon and find new targets quickly. This weapon is meant to be geared for most players to play with and have fun experiencing what it’s like to be a sniper in Black Ops Cold War. The following changes better define the weapon’s role, providing more long-range accuracy and focusing less on short-range combat viability.

  • LW3 – Tundra
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 550 to 580.
    • Reduced ADS-In Momentum from 0.2 to 0.233.
  • Attachments
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 28.2” Extended Barrel attachment from 25% to 18%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 29.1” Combat Recon Barrel attachment from 75% to 36%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 28.2” Tiger Team Barrel attachment from 50% to 27%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from Dropshot Wrap Handle attachment from 50% to 33%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from Field Tape Handle attachment from 90% to 50%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 80% to 67%.
    • Increased Sprint to Fire Time penalty from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 12% to 15%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance Bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 90% to 25%.
    • Increased Sprint to Fire Time penalty from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 15% to 18%.
    • Reduced Aim Down Sight Time bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 12% to 5%.

Pelington 703

The Pelington 703 is designed to be a quick-handling sniper rifle for players who enjoy constant movement and repositioning, trading off some one-hit kill potential for more speed. This weapon is geared for the kind of player who enjoys running into the middle of gun battles and advancing on important positions. The following changes reinforce the weapon’s role, shifting some ADS speed into a Sprint to Fire benefit, and using a slightly slower Bullet Velocity to keep gameplay at closer ranges.

  • Pelington 703
    • Increased Sprint to Fire speed from 0.45 to 0.433.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity from 500 to 478.
    • Increased Aim Down Sight Time from 0.55 to 0.583.
  • Attachments
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 25” Extended Barrel attachment from 25% to 17%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 27.2” Combat Recon Barrel attachment from 75% to 43%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 26.5” Tiger Team Barrel attachment from 50% to 30%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from Field Tape Handle attachment from 90% to 50%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 80% to 67%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance Bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 90% to 25%.
    • Reduced Aim Down Sight Time bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 12% to 5%.

Sniper Rifle Charlie (Semi-Auto)

With the recent release of the ZRG 20mm and the popularity of the LW3 – Tundra, there existed an untapped space between those two weapons. To fill that position, our semi-auto sniper rifle has been given some new upgrades. Leaning into the lethality of a .50 Cal round, the weapon is now much more powerful, with the trade-off of being slower to fire successive shots. As a semi-automatic weapon without any rechamber, it is still quite fast and works well for holding down a position.

  • Sniper Rifle Charlie
    • Increased one-hit kill potential to include the mid-torso.
    • Increased Aim Down Sight speed from 0.7 to 0.666.
    • Increased ADS-Out Momentum from 0.2 to 0.183.
    • Reduced ADS-In Momentum from 0.2 to 0.25.
    • Reduced firing speed from 0.333 to 0.833.
  • Attachments
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 22.2” Extended Barrel attachment from 25% to 13%.
    • Increased Fire Rate bonus from 20.6” Rapid Fire Barrel attachment from 11% to 12%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 22.6” Combat Recon Barrel attachment from 75% to 26%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 22.6” Tiger Team Barrel attachment from 50% to 20%.
    • Increased Fire Rate bonus from 22.6” Tiger Team Barrel attachment from 18% to 24%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from Field Tape Handle attachment from 90% to 50%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 80% to 67%.
    • Increased Sprint to Fire penalty from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 12% to 15%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance Bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 90% to 25%.
    • Increased Sprint to Fire penalty from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 15% to 18%.
    • Reduced Aim Down Sight Time bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 12% to 5%.

ZRG 20mm

This is the most lethal sniper rifle in Black Ops Cold War, and it ravages vehicles and Scorestreaks. This power comes at a price, as this weapon is slower with less available ammo. Players who prioritize map knowledge, common enemy movements, and destroying enemy Scorestreaks will excel with the ZRG 20mm. Strategy over tactics. To that end, this weapon must be slower to wield compared to the rest of the sniper rifle class.

  • ZRG 20mm
    • Reduced Aim Down Sight speed from 0.65 to 0.683.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity from 925 to 923.
    • Increased ADS-Out Momentum from 0.2 to 0.183.
    • Reduced ADS-In Momentum from 0.2 to 0.283.
    • Custom Vehicle Damage: The “anti-material” property of this weapon deals extra damage to every vehicle and Scorestreak. Due to the sheer number of vehicles and Scorestreaks to choose from in Black Ops Cold War, this damage is displayed in-game as a range (i.e. 1100 – 2200). Generally speaking, the larger a vehicle or Scorestreak is, the more damage this weapon will deal to it.
  • Attachments
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 41.9” Extended Barrel attachment from 25% to 10%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 43.9” Combat Recon Barrel attachment from 75% to 20%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 42.7” Sigma Special Barrel attachment from 67% to 16%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from Field Tape Handle attachment from 90% to 50%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 80% to 67%.
    • Increased Sprint to Fire penalty from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 12% to 18%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance Bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 90% to 25%.
    • Increased Sprint to Fire penalty from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 15% to 20%.
    • Reduced Aim Down Sight Time bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 12% to 5%.

Swiss K31

With its low recoil, fast rechamber, and speedy handling, this weapon is ideal for quickly eliminating multiple enemy targets. Players with an eagle eye and nerves of steel will be able to down more enemies with this weapon than with any other sniper rifle. For those who aren’t as skilled at nailing their headshots every time, the Swiss K31 can perform much like a tactical rifle. The changes made here further index on this skill aspect, with the benefit of less sniper flinch.

  • Swiss K31
    • 25% less Flinch than other sniper rifles.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity from 700 to 684.
  • Attachments
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 24.9” Extended Barrel attachment from 25% to 16%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 24.9” Combat Recon Barrel attachment from 75% to 31%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 24.9” Tiger Team Barrel attachment from 50% to 23%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from Field Tape Handle attachment from 90% to 50%.
    • Reduced Flinch Resistance bonus from SASR Jungle Grip Handle attachment from 80% to 67%.
    • Reduced Sprint to Fire penalty from SASR Jungle Grip handle attachment from 12% to 11%.
    • Reduced Aim Down Sight Time bonus from Airborne Elastic Wrap Handle attachment from 12% to 5%.

All Assault Rifles

We’ve improved bullet velocities across the board (with one exception) to allow assault rifles more innate long-distance advantage over submachine guns. The FFAR 1 has its Bullet Velocity reduced in exchange for an increase to its max damage.

We have also standardized headshot modifiers on assault rifles with this update. Assault rifles that have 5.56 ammo have a 1.4x headshot modifier, while those that use 7.62 ammo have a 1.25x modifier. In general, assault rifles that use 7.62 ammo deal higher damage already. The number of hits required to kill remain the same, except for the FFAR 1, which requires fewer hits to kill if the player scores a headshot.

  • Krig 6
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 625 to 686.
    • Increased Bullet Velocity bonus from 19.7” Ranger Barrel attachment from 100% to 126%.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity penalty from 15.5” Contour Barrel attachment from 25% to 12%.
  • AK-47
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 490 to 702.
  • FFAR 1
    • Increased maximum damage from 27 to 28.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity from 705 to 629.
  • Groza
    • Reduced headshot multiplier from 1.4x to 1.25x.
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 650 to 660.
  • QBZ-83
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 625 to 671.
  • FARA 83
    • Increased headshot multiplier from 1.25x to 1.4x.
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 675 to 729.
    • Reduced maximum damage from 31 to 30.
    • Reduced minimum damage from 28 to 27.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity penalty from 17.5” Contour Barrel attachment from 25% to 18%.
  • XM4
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 550 to 657.

All Light Machine Guns

We’ve refactored Bullet Velocity to give LMGs more inherent power with less reliance on the Task Force Barrel attachment. These changes provide more value to the rest of the Barrel attachments, while the Task Force Barrel remains a solid choice for boosting Bullet Velocity.

  • Light Machine Gun Alpha
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 675 to 714.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 21.8” Task Force Barrel attachment from 100% to 41%.
  • RPD
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 475 to 684.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 20.3” Task Force Barrel attachment from 100% to 44%.
  • M60
    • Increased Bullet Velocity from 600 to 791.
    • Reduced Bullet Velocity bonus from 22.8” Task Force Barrel attachment from 100% to 39%.

    • With this change, the time it takes to crouch has been increased by 20ms and now aligns with the delay before a subsequent stance change between crouch and stand can be performed. Zombies Weapon Tuning

We’ve increased the power of most weapons through higher critical damage multipliers (generally from 2.8X up to 4.5X) to make killing zombies feel even satisfying by rewarding players for skillful shooting. Some weapons have also received additional adjustments to their Pack-a-Punched versions with respect to magazine size, stock ammo, and damage.

This update generally brings up the power levels of the Black Ops Cold War arsenal in Zombies to ensure every weapon is a viable option in round-based Zombies maps, Outbreak, and Onslaught.

Note: Damage and critical location hit multiplier tuning below is unique to Zombies and is not inherited from the global weapon tuning changes also included in this update.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered Comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as Free Upgrade

Saints Row players who have been holding out for a remastered release for next-gen consoles are going to get their wish, as Saints Row: The Third Remastered comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as a free upgrade courtesy of the folks at Deep Silver.

Here’s the entire announcement from the press release — which details that the next-gen version will be equal to the PC edition.

The next-gen version of Saints Row: The Third Remastered for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will allow players to experience the game running at even greater performance settings – equivalent to the PC edition at high settings. Visually the game’s engine is now able to run at a much higher performance, bringing improvements to lighting, texture resolution, and other visual effects thanks to the powerful hardware.
Framerate is improved across next-gen consoles to offer the smoothest possible gameplay. Players will be able to enjoy the game running at 60 frames per second and dynamic 4K resolution, keeping the action fluid.
Xbox Series S owners get an additional option to enjoy the game in two modes that better cater to individual player preference. Play in either Performance Mode, which keeps the gameplay locked at 60fps with a 1080 resolution, or Beauty Mode that locks the gameplay to standard 30fps while employing an upscaled 4K resolution. PlayStation 5 owners will be able to enjoy Activities support, as well as a subtle signature Saints purple glow on the DualSense controller.
Existing owners of Saints Row: The Third Remastered who own next-gen consoles will be able to enjoy these upgrades free of charge. Free Upgrade and Smart Delivery are guaranteed across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. With SSDs on board the new versions load at vastly improved speeds, allowing players to jump in without any wait.
If you are new to Saints Row: The Third Remastered and want to know how it plays — read our review on the game here.
Saints Row: The Third Remastered comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S starting May 22.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Upcoming Update 4.0.0 Out Next Week, Introduces AI Teammate Experience

Last month, Ubisoft announced the Ghost Recon Breakpoint roadmap that outlined some of the new stuff coming to players. Thankfully, we now have a release date for one of its major updates! Ubisoft has announced the Ghost Recon Breakpoint upcoming update 4.0.0 release date, and it’s set for May 25!

Ubisoft calls this update the AI Teammate Experience, which will introduce a new progression loop, and will introduce new rewards and more too. Check out the trailer and details straight from the press release.

Teammates will now have a common Team Level and a common XP bar called Team XP which can be leveled up just by playing the game with AI teammates activated or by completing the Teammate Challenges. To track teammate progression, players can find a new progression bar at the top of the screen, displaying XP gained, Nomad’s level gauge and teammates’ level gauge. Additionally, once teammates have leveled up, an animation will appear on screen, informing players of newly unlocked upgrades. Players will also have 14 new challenges to tackle, which will grant both Team XP and cosmetic rewards.

To upgrade and customize teammates, players will be able to navigate a dedicated menu, showing teammate level XP, upgrades and challenges. Players will be able to unlock 14 upgrades for their AI Teammates:

  • Three Active Abilities unique to each teammate including Piercing Shot, Scan and Combat Drone

  • Two Active Abilities shared across teammates including Extra Revival and Fragmentation Grenades

  • Nine Passive Abilities for increased damage or resilience

The Ghost Recon Breakpoint upcoming update 4.0.0 will also let players adjust their squad with one, two, or three teammates, customize Rainbow teammates, hide AI teammates’ secondary, and other customization options.

Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 3 Reloaded Roadmap & Content Revealed

Coming in hot later this week is the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 3 Reloaded update! Players are getting new operators in Rambo and John McClane (though we haven’t seen him still), new maps, scorestreaks and more! Activision has today revealed the Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 3 Reloaded roadmap, and what players can expect.

Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 3 Reloaded Roadmap & Content:

For what kind of content is coming, here’s the details from Treyarch themselves.

Rambo (Launch)

“To survive a war, you gotta become war.”

Serving time for murder, highly decorated MACV-SOG soldier John Rambo is offered one more mission – return to Vietnam and locate American POWs. If successful, he will be released, and given a full Presidential pardon…

John McClane (Launch)

“Welcome to the party, pal!”

A hard-bitten cop on the streets of New York, John McClane has a talent for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now in the fight of his life, he’ll have to rely on his cocky attitude and level head to stay alive.

Note: Rambo and John McClane are brand-new Call of Duty Operators; these are not skins for previously released Operators.

WARZONE CONTENT

Not only have the heroes of Die Hard and Rambo arrived in Verdansk, but they also brought some iconic locales with them, changing the Warzone as we know it…but only for a limited time.

New Points of Interest come to Verdansk

New Point of Interest: Nakatomi Plaza (Launch)

The headquarters of the Nakatomi Corporation have moved from sunny Los Angeles to Verdansk’s Downtown for a limited time. This is the tallest single structure seen in Warzone and includes five floors of a space that will be familiar to those who know and love the original Die Hard.

In addition to replacing the Broadcast Tower and surrounding blocks that normally define Downtown’s southern district, Nakatomi Plaza features multiple optional missions that can be completed during Battle Royale and Plunder for rewards both in-game and for your profile. This includes exploring the tower for Supply Boxes, defusing C4 on the tower’s roof, and interrupting an arms deal gone wrong.

If you and your squad are lucky enough, you may even be able to do what no international criminal has been able to pull off before: successfully crack the Nakatomi Plaza vault and escape with its riches. But be forewarned that you won’t be the only Operators looking for the keys to the vault…

New Point of Interest: Survival Camps (Launch)

Around Verdansk, numerous campsites have been converted into Survival Camps as a homage to Rambo: First Blood Part II.

Find any of these ten camps across the map, and you could walk out with some solid loadout items or the dog tags of comrades who fell long before your arrival. Collect enough of them, and you may be able to get an even greater reward…

New Point of Interest: CIA Outpost (Launch)

One of the aircraft hangars in Verdansk’s northwest sector has been converted into a makeshift CIA Outpost, as these agents need a home base to start tracking down the elusive Rambo.

Apparently, these field operatives are also searching for any identification of fallen soldiers and may bring in some air reinforcements should enough of them be collected for extraction. Maybe this can be used to stage an ambush that only a true guerilla warfare expert could handle…

Be the Action Hero in Power Grab, a Limited-Time Mode (Launch)

Battle Royales were already intense, action movie–worthy matches within Warzone, but what if the intensity was dialed up to true Hollywood extremes? You would get Power Grab, a Limited-Time Mode that pits over 100 Operators across select squad sizes in a battle for true badass protagonist supremacy.

In Power Grab, Operators will find that the starting circle collapse is smaller than in a traditional Battle Royale in Verdansk. This circle collapse will have five stages and there is no Gulag to escape from upon death.

Instead, you must either revive your squadmates via the Buy Station or earn the right to revive them by collecting Dog Tags. Similar to Kill Confirmed in traditional Multiplayer, every Operator will drop a Dog Tag each time they are eliminated. These Dog Tags can also be found as rewards for completing Contracts, and in rare cases, they can be found in Supply Boxes around Verdansk.

Each Dog Tag collected brings you one notch up a reward ladder, which is visible on the right side of your HUD. This reward ladder includes a UAV; a Respawn Token, which gives you the right to infil into Verdansk again; and Advanced Gas Masks and Specialist Bonuses, at higher tiers.

Despite these differences compared to a traditional Battle Royale, the endgame is the same: Be the last squad standing to win.

New Killstreak: Combat Bow (Launch)

Straight out of the ‘80s, the Combat Bow adds an explosive punch to any loadout when found in Verdansk or Rebirth Island.

Effective against both infantry and vehicles, this new Killstreak can help your squad turn the tide of battle through unconventional warfare. The longer you pull back the bow, the farther the explosive-tipped arrow will go, so be sure to adjust your strength as needed to hit targets at longer distances.

The Ballistic Knife Comes to Warzone

The Ballistic Knife of Black Ops series fame also comes to Warzone in Season Three Reloaded! Built for stealth kills from multiple distances, this versatile weapon allows for melee attacks up close and a projectile blade attack from short-to-medium ranges.

BLACK OPS COLD WAR CONTENT

Black Ops Cold War is ready for action in Season Three Reloaded, remixing classic game modes and adding in two Multiplayer maps, plus the new Main Quest for Zombies fans to discover and solve in Outbreak, and more.

Two New Multiplayer Maps

Standoff (6v6, Launch)

It’s back in Black Ops.

First introduced in Black Ops II, Standoff is a 6v6 medium-sized map that features a timeless three-lane feel and provides plentiful opportunities for outsmarting your opponents.

Remember to check the central building, and always be mindful of a certain exploding van, which has plenty of notoriety within the Call of Duty competitive community…

Duga (Multi-Team, Launch)

Also arriving at the start of Season Three Reloaded is Duga, a new region in the Ural Mountains ready for Multi-Team modes after spending the first half of the season in Outbreak.

Duga offers something for every playstyle, whether you prefer to move through the central admin offices for close-range battles or work your way around the perimeter through the bus depot to the chemical processing plant for long-range battles.

If you can’t immediately decide where to hone your skills, try making your way atop the array tower for a tactical view before parachuting off to your destination of choice.

New Game Modes and Medals

Die Hardpoint (Launch)

Prepare for a fight against not only the opposition but also time itself in a cranked-up twist to a fan-favorite   mode: Die Hardpoint.

Work alongside your squad to capture Hardpoints and eliminate enemies in a race to gain 200 points, or the most points before time expires. Capturing a Hardpoint will give you a movement speed boost (the first of five potential buffs) and set your timer to 30 seconds. But beware: these buffs come at the cost of your life in explosive fashion when the clock hits zero.

This timer can be extended by earning eliminations and playing the objective, so aggressive play will be key to survival. While on your team’s Hardpoint, your timer will be paused, and kills will add 15 seconds to your timer up to a max of 30 seconds. Successive kills will also grant you up to four additional buffs on top of movement speed: weapon handling, ADS speed, slide speed, and a larger explosion for when you inevitably die (only achievable after a five-kill streak.)

Also, since this is an action-movie inspired playlist, expect the Operators to put on their best acting chops upon being eliminated, as they are more than prepared to do their own stunts after their health reaches zero…

Rambo’s Gun Game (Week Two)

Introduced in Season Two, Gun Game is a frantic Free-for-All mode where players compete to earn at least one kill with 20 different weapons.

On its own, Gun Game can be a fast and frenetic party mode, but what happens when Rambo joins the party? The rotation of 20 weapons gets a serious boost in firepower, as the Combat Bow, War Machine, RPG-7, and even the Death Machine get added into a fresh set of armaments. To help keep our action heroes alive, players will also be equipped with the Stimshot.

The gameplay is just as frenzied as ever. Dying via melee attacks, falling off the map, or staying too long in restricted areas brings you back one stage in the weapon rotation, and the first to get a kill by launching a Ballistic Knife wins the match. However, remember that this is the ’80s Action Heroes event, so expect plenty of explosions and dramatic falls from Operators throughout the match!

Multi-Team Elimination (Launch)

Fans of Squad vs. Squad game modes will have an intense new last team-standing experience to take on across Black Ops Cold War’s biggest maps.

In Multi-Team Elimination, ten teams of four will drop in and fight to survive against ever-expanding radiation zones. Redeploys will be limited and loadouts will be restricted, so teams will need to scavenge for weapons, Scorestreaks, Armor, and more.

Emerge as the last team standing or the first squad to board the exfil chopper in the final safe zone to achieve victory in this massive new Multiplayer mode!

Action Movie–Inspired Medals (Launch)

In addition to the standard Medals received during Multiplayer and Zombies matches, the ’80s Action Heroes event will introduce limited-time Medals and some nods to both the Die Hard and Rambo franchises. These Medals function similar to ones already in Black Ops Cold War, offering a bit of additional bling to your barracks while also giving you some bonus XP to help you reach that next level quicker.

For example, are you shredding the competition with the Death Machine? Instead of the usual “Shredded” Medal, you may receive the “Light Em Up” Medal for your skill with this powerful minigun. Or how about using explosives? Blast away your enemies, and you may get the “Have a Blast!” Medal in-game to commend you for your expertise with explosives.

Zombies: New Outbreak Content, New Limited-Time Mode, and More

The Dark Aether story is set to explode in Outbreak, Zombies gets a new limited-time mode, plus more that Requiem has not given us clearance to declassify…

New Main Quest, Orda World Event, and More in Outbreak (Launch)

Requiem agents deployed to the Outbreak Zone will find a brand-new Main Quest to experience for the first time in Outbreak. The events that unfold within will set the stage for the next round-based map in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, as well as what’s still to come in future seasons. Watch for details from Treyarch on when players can expect to join in on the Easter egg hunt this week!

Season Three Reloaded also delivers a new World Event to discover in Outbreak. Massive Orda monsters now wander the Ural Mountains, posing a considerable challenge with powerful rewards for those who come out of the encounter alive.

And if you need to take a quick break between all the chaos, try picking up one of the fishing poles found near water sources throughout the regions. Players just might fish up Salvage, Armor, Perks, or even a special surprise…

And as always, there are other secrets waiting in Outbreak for players to find on their own. Beware the new dangers that lurk in the Outbreak Zone, and keep your eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary…

Cranked 2: No Time to Crank (Launch)

A new variant of the fan-favorite Cranked makes its way to Firebase Z and Die Maschine with an explosive twist in a limited-time ’80s Action Heroes Zombies mode.

In this new take on Cranked in Zombies, all players will start with a Knife,  with Wall Buys disabled and Crafting Tables removed. All Mystery Box locations will be active and restocked with different armaments, including more frequent Support items. In addition to finding more explosive ordinances from the Mystery Box, zombies are more likely to drop lethal explosive equipment.

Just like in the hit prequel to Cranked 2, eliminating your first zombie starts a Cranked Timer. Keep it ticking with each elimination, as the timer’s duration decreases as rounds progress…

Will you be able to keep your Cranked Timer above zero and avoid a fiery demise? Find out in Cranked 2: No Time to Crank.

New Custom Mod Support, Mystery Box Weapons, and Weapon Buffs (Launch)

In addition to this new content in Outbreak and round-based Zombies maps, Treyarch is bringing Custom Mod support to the “Apply Blueprint” feature to allow players to save their own custom Blueprints and bring them into Zombies alongside the Blueprints they already own.

Weapons from previous seasons are also being added to the Mystery Box and Trials reward pools, including the Groza, MAC-10, Streetsweeper, FARA 83, LC10, R1 Shadowhunter, ZRG 20mm, Sledgehammer, Wakizashi, Machete, and E-Tool.

New Zombies-specific weapon tuning is also incoming to boost the overall power of several weapons in the Black Ops Cold War arsenal, so zombie slayers will have even more viable tools of destruction at their fingertips. For more details on all of the updates coming to Zombies this week, visit the Treyarch Blog.

WARZONE AND BLACK OPS COLD WAR CONTENT:

Warzone and Black Ops Cold WarTwo New Weapons

Later in Season Three Reloaded, the Secondary Weapon category receives two additional weapons: an automatic machine pistol and an old reliable melee weapon.

Baseball Bat: Melee (Launch Week)

A classic bruiser’s weapon of war, and Black Ops Cold War’s newest addition for one-hit melee fans, the Baseball Bat is what you want when the enemy has you in a pickle. Whether it’s against the undead hordes in Zombies or enemy Operators in Multiplayer, using the Baseball Bat could mean the difference between sitting on your squad’s bench or becoming its MVP.

Note: the Baseball Bat will enter the Warzone melee starting lineup during Season Four after its “spring training” in Black Ops Cold War during Season Three Reloaded’s launch week.

AMP63: Pistol (In-Season)

Slotting in as the fourth sidearm in Black Ops Cold War’s arsenal, this personal defense weapon is a cross between a self-loading pistol and a fully automatic SMG.

Expect this weapon to output high amounts of damage in a short period of time thanks to its full-auto nature, which makes it highly effective in close quarters.

Obtain the AMP63 and Baseball Bat during Season Three Reloaded in one of two ways: complete an in-game challenge to obtain the free base weapon or pick up a bundle with a Blueprint version when it appears in the Store.

’80s Action Heroes Event

Want to collect free player profile items, Weapon Charms and Stickers, a new Arcade Game, and even Weapon Blueprints? Then lock and load for the “’80s Action Heroes” in-game challenge event across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

Similar to the “Hunt for Adler” and “Haunting of Verdansk” events, Operators will be tasked with completing objectives in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, receiving rewards that can be used across both titles, with the exception of the Robot Tank Arcade Game (available only in the Black Ops Cold War Barracks). These challenges are themed around the awesome new, limited-time content, and include objectives like completing matches in specific playlists or earning kills with the new Combat Bow Killstreak in Warzone.

Complete all nine Black Ops Cold War challenges to unlock a semi-automatic tactical rifle Weapon Blueprint and complete all nine of the Warzone challenges to get an awesome Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle Weapon Blueprint.

More in Store: Additional Bundle Intel

In addition to these two new weapons, as well as John McClane and Rambo, the Store across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will be updated with fresh new Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and more content across multiple bundles.

This includes the “Death’s Veil Maxis” bundle, which features Samantha’s new “Death’s Bride” Operator Skin. Don’t think that’s threatening enough for the living and the dead? Be prepared to face her new “Nailed Down” Finishing Move or come up against her “Death’s Vow” SMG and “Death’s Protest” LMG Weapon Blueprints.

Also coming to the Store is the “Tracer Pack: Nuclear Distillery Mastercraft” bundle, the first-ever Mastercraft Bundle with two unique Ultra-rarity Mastercrafts. One of these is the first Secondary Weapon Mastercraft, known as the “Special Batch” shotgun, which comes alongside the “Science Project” assault rifle Mastercraft. Admire the swirling toxic liquids inside both weapons, and inspect either of them to get a swig of the good stuff.*

If you haven’t checked out the trailer to the 80’s Action Hero Showcase, check it out here.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available for PC and consoles.
