One of the early 2000’s dark fantasy role-playing games will be getting a new lease in life under a new studio assembled by THQ Nordic, as Barcelona based studio Alkimia Entertainment has been announced as the studio that will be developing a Gothic Remake — based on the game made by Pirahna Bytes that was released nearly 20 years ago.
Here’s the goals of Alkimia on working on the remake as featured in the press release.
The team’s focus and ambition is to build high-quality RPGs, with its first project being the full development of the Gothic Remake for PC and Next-Gen consoles. Development is well underway and the first results from all of the hard work the team has put in will be revealed in the next couple of months. “We strive to build Alkimia Interactive as a top-notch RPG studio”, said Reinhard Pollice, Studio Head at Alkimia Interactive. “Our ambition is to become one of the best addresses for PC/Console core game development in the South of Europe.”
First released in Germany on March 15, 2001, Gothic puts players in the role of a prisoner who is thrust into a world of magic and politics, with orcs, wizards, and men thrown in a chaotic environment where different factions fight for various agendas. THQ Nordic actually developed a playable demo for the remake, which can be found and downloaded via Steam.

PvP Cluster B Details:
In 2019, the launch of the Snail Games Initiative, Classic PvP, created an exciting and competitive playing experience for PC players. Throughout the course of the seasons, the meta was watched closely and changes were made to shake things up and create an experience tailored for PvP gameplay. Today, players can continue on the quest for the ultimate PvP experience with the introduction of Classic Season 4 Cluster B.
Cluster B will be a separate cluster from the existing Classic PvP servers, which will allow newer players an opportunity to catch up to the progression that’s been made in the current season by playing on a network with higher rates. Both clusters will be heavily moderated to ensure a fair playing ground and an equal competitive footing. Before the launch of Genesis II, both Classic PvP (A & B) clusters will merge and form one Classic PvP cluster.
Cluster B launches on the 12th of March at 1 PM Eastern / 10 AM Pacific! See below for the rules and rates of Classic PvP Cluster B servers:

While we already saw gameplay from the Ranger class in Hood: Outlaws & Legends, developer Sumo Digital has today revealed our first look at some Outlaws & Legends Hunter gameplay! Those who prefer to be sneaky, this is the class for you!
Check out the two-minute video where Game Director Andew Willans gives us an in-depth overview of the Hunter class.
Elusive and mysterious, the Hunter’s quick takedowns, invisibility magic, and smoke grenades make her a terror in infiltration and assassination. Her modified arm-mounted crossbow can load up to three bolts at once for a deadly burst, giving her incredible lethality at close and mid-range. And when it comes to supporting her band of outlaws, the Hunter’s smoke grenades can cover sightlines and prevent the enemy from tagging teammates for a tactical advantage.
The Hunter’s ultimate ability is the Shroud, covering her with a near-invisible sheen that’s completely undetectable by guards. This grants her unique advantages behind enemy lines, letting her reach the treasure vault with ease or take out foes with terrifying efficiency.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends will rob players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 10.

As expected given the previous announcement, the For Honor update 2.26 March 11 patch is live today, and this brings Year 5 Season 1 “Asunder” into the multiplayer action game! Head on below for the trailer, roadmap, and of course, the latest changes made by the studio.
For Honor Update 2.26 March 11 Patch Notes (Year 5 Season 1):
PATCH NOTES 2.26.0 – FOR HONOR
Update: Ubisoft has finally released the official patch notes which we’ve listed below!
Known Issue: Warden’s Top Heavy to Side Heavy Unblockable is currently undodgeable. We are working on a fix and will release it as soon as possible.
BATTLE PASS FEST
Battle Fest is a weekend when players will grind double BP points compare as normal day (same as XP fest but for BP points)
FACTION WAR
Starting in Y5S1, changes are coming to the rewards warriors will receive at the conclusion of seasonal faction wars.
We made the faction-colored territories on the World Map more transparent to make the seasonal and event realisation elements more visible.
IMPROVEMENTS
FIGHTERS
General
Whenever a Hero is in the startup of a Guard Break, if that Hero is struck by a Guard Break it will now automatically perform a Guard Break Counter.
Developer’s comment:This is to prevent situations where two players would attempt to Guard Break each other at a very specific timing and the first player to get Guard Broken would need to re-press the Guard Break button to tech it.
Warden
The changes from the Y4|S4 Testing Grounds are now live, with bug fixes and other improvements.
Shoulder Bash
Shoulder Bash is no longer accessible from Back Dodge
Shoulder Bash now slightly moves forward when feinted
Fully Charged Shoulder Bash no longer has additional forward movement when feinted
Any Non-Shoulder Bash Attack can now chain to Shoulder Bash.
Developer’s comment:These changes should help Shoulder Bash both feel fairer and flow better. Warden now has to be on the offensive to use Shoulder Bash and rewards using every part of the kit instead of relying on only part of the kit.
Heavy Attacks
Side Heavy Openers now have flatter and larger trajectories
Top Heavy Finisher is now a 900ms attack (down from 1000ms)
Side Heavy Finishers are now 900ms attacks (up from 800ms)
Side Heavy Finishers are now Unblockable
Side Heavy Finishers now deal 30 damage (down from 35 during the Testing Grounds)
Top Heavy Finisher now deals 32 damage (down from 34 in the Testing Grounds)
Side Heavy Finisher trajectories are now flatter
Warden now moves forward more when performing Side Heavy Finishers
Light Attacks now chain to Heavy Finishers at 100ms during their recoveries (down from 200ms)
Developer’s comment:Warden should now be able to use Heavy attacks more effectively; the increased speed on the Top Heavy Finisher makes it harder to interrupt and Side Heavy Attacks (both Openers and Finishers) are stronger both in group fights as well as the minion lane.
Zone Attack
Zone Attack recovery is now 500ms (down from 1000ms)
Warden now moves forward more when performing Zone Attack
Developer’s comment:Warden’s Zone Attack no longer needs to commit to an additional attack to be useful; the extra forward movement also helps in group fights to catch opponents that might be further away.
Additional fixes based on Y4|S4’s Testing Grounds player feedback:
Fixed an issue where Side Heavy Finishers were undodgeable after a Top Heavy Opener (FH-1089)
Fixed an issue where Side Heavy Finishers were undodgeable after a Top Heavy Opener (FH-1022)
FEATS
[Adjustment] Replaced “Thick Blood” on Warden and Nuxia with “Thrilling Comeback”
Thrilling Comeback is a passive Feat that recovers a small amount of health upon entering Revenge
Developer’s comment:Player feedback from the Y4|S4 Testing Grounds correctly noted that Thick Blood Warden negatively affected the viability of Testing Grounds Peacekeeper and Nobushi – as it nullifies their bleed entirely. Here, by changing the effect of Thick Blood entirely, we remove the unhealthy aspect of being able to shut down bleed heroes’ kits for free, as well as the bad feeling of taking Thick Blood but not queuing into any bleed heroes. In this new Thrilling Comeback, it retains the passive feature of making you live a bit longer, and now is globally useful with a much more healthy design.
MAP
Forge
[Adjustment] Created new stair access points to Capture Zone A
[Adjustment] Created an access point from Mid-lane into the central workshop building
[Adjustment] Reworked Ashfeld lighting environment and is now daylight
BREACH
[Adjustment] Added a warning to the defending team when their Commander takes damage
USER INTERFACE
[Adjustment] We tweaked the size and opacity of revive/executed icons to make them less intrusive

Hyper Scape Update 1.26 March 11 Patch Notes:
Hyper Scape Season 3 New Features:
neo arcadia 2.0
Season 3 introduces Neo Arcadia 2.0, a bigger, fully redesigned map with new key landmarks, more diversified terrain and more identifiable zones for players to traverse. Each area has its own personality and story to tell. Neo Arcadia 2.0 will challenge our veteran players to keep up the pace with newcomers jumping into it for the first time.
Main features:
More open spaces and variety in the combat encounters with other players.
More variety across the world and zones. Each zone feels different and offer a different gameplay style.
Chests now spawn 100% of the time and loot can now also be found outside of buildings to adjust to the bigger open areas that you’ll find in the map.
Loot and zone closing are adapted for all game modes. Overall loot density has been increased compared to the previous patch, to return to the usual density experienced before.
new hack: firewall
The Firewall is a new deployable Hack with strong offensive and defensive capacities. Activating your Firewall hack creates a barrier that will block incoming enemy fire until destroyed, while still allowing you and your allies (squad & team) to shoot through.
This Hack will be available in all game modes.
new end of match menu
Season 3 introduces a new 2D Hub Flow in the main menu accessible after completing a match and should offer a faster and more interactive experience. The new menu uses a tab structure to quickly access several key areas of the game while waiting for the next match or for your squad and friends to join.
The following tabs can be accessed from this new menu between matches, without having to return to the Hyper Scape HUB:
Play — Change your selected game mode, view Challenges, invite a friend and view profile & stats.
Battle Pass — View your progress, inspect items and buy the Battle Pass or tiers.
Rank — View your current ranking, top 10 ranked matches and seasonal ranking stats.
Shop — Claim the Daily Gift, visit the Daily & Weekly Shop and buy Bitcrowns.
Locker — You can now access your Locker to check newly unlocked content, and customize the look of your Champion, weapons and more in between matches!
Memories — Read the lore and backstory of the Champions of Hyper Scape via the Memory Shards.
In addition, players will now be able to stay in the Post-Match results pages for as long as they would like. Browse your Scoring Cards from your last match, check in on your Challenges progressed or completed, and view changes made to your Ranking. The following tabs will now appear in the Post-Match results:

Challenges

WEAPONS
Based on multiple feedback from the community we decided to adjust some of the most polarizing weapons that were too dominant or generated some recurring frustration.
We also brought some reductions in term of aim-assist mechanics: Alongside per weapon changes, we’ve reduced the size of the “head” volume used by our bullet magnet system to remove confusion between body and headshots. The controller adhesion has been further reduced to promote a fairer experience when Controller and Keyboard & Mouse players are playing together. Controller players still get adhesion to help their crosshair stay on a target while they’re aiming with a controller

Modified the behavior of the colorblindness modes through a “contrast change” logic instead of trying to translate what color blinded people could see compared to non-color blinded people

This is definitely the largest update we’ve had for the game so far, no? If we hear news for the next update, we’ll let our readers know.
This year is a big celebration of all things Resident Evil, as not only will Capcom’s Survival Horror franchise celebrate its 25th Anniversary — it will also be getting a new reboot film that’s more faithful to the source material. That being said, one of the movie’s stars, Chad Rook has just revealed to the world the first teaser poster for the Resident Evil movie reboot — and it’s definitely simple and in keeping with the series various design choices.
Here’s the tweet from Rook — who plays the role of S.T.A.R.S member Richard Aiken.
As seen in the poster which looks like it’s taken inspiration from Resident Evil 4, the names of the heroes and villains from Resident Evil appear — including Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Albert Wesker, and William Birkin. The film will center on the events of the first two games, with the Mansion Incident in the Arklay Mountains covering RE1 while the zombie outbreak in Raccoon City and the events inside Raccoon Police Department cover RE2. We’ll just have to wait and see when a trailer pops up for the film how it’s going to look, but for now this is already getting RE fans hyped and excited.
As we reported last month, the Resident Evil movie reboot is slated for release in cinemas on September 3.
The cast of the live-action Borderlands film adaptation just got a heavyweight added to its cast, as Creed 2 star and Viktor Drago actor Florian Munteanu has been cast in the role of Krieg for the Borderlands Movie — which will be directed by Eli Roth.
Florian Munteanu is here to show us the meaning of madness! @big9nasty will be joining the cast as psycho Krieg in the Borderlands Movie!https://t.co/jwnfMCb6mo
With the news, Eli Roth weighed in on Florian’s casting and playing a role he found difficult to cast for his film.
“Florian brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character who on the surface seems totally insane and brutally savage. Krieg was by far the most difficult role to cast, and Florian brought him to life and grounded him in a way that I didn’t know was possible. He’s going to be a brilliant Krieg and will fit in perfectly with our incredible cast.”
As the latest actor to join a very impressive and growing cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, Florian will take on the role of Krieg — the playable Psycho class character who first appeared in Borderlands 2 and is an NPC in Borderlands 3. The last person to be cast for the film is the young actress Ariana Greenblatt — who will play the role of Tiny Tina.
Square Enix has released a new promo reel for Outriders today, and this one is an Outriders animated trailer that reminds players what’s at stake! If you’ve played the demo, you’ll know what exactly, but for those who are not familiar with the game’s story, the trailer’s title of “No Turning Back” fits perfectly.
Yep, Earth is no more and the Outriders are going to Enoch for a better life, though that’s not exactly what we’re getting.
With Resident Evil Village set for release soon, it looks like would-be scammers are capitalizing on the game’s popularity to try and hook people with a Resident Evil Village early access scam that’s circulating around via emails.
Capcom themselves sent us a warning and made it very clear that these messages are NOT from Capcom, and there are no early access invites going out for Resident Evil Village. According to Capcom, the address the scammers are using email address “no-reply(at)capcom(dot)com”which might fool some people.
This isn’t the first video game-related phising scam, and definitely not the last. Just last month, Far Cry 6 phishing emails were being sent out, though that one was far easier to make out that it was a fake. If Capcom does send out an official Resident Evil Village early access invite or a beta invite for the game’s bundled multiplayer mode, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Until then, stay away from these things.
Resident Evil Village is set for release this May 7, and will feature a free multiplayer poriton called RE:Verse.
While we already reported on some of the Bulletstorm Easter eggs that are tucked away in the Outriders demo, it looks like there are more nods to other gaming franchises hidden by developer People Can Fly, and one of these is an Easter egg for Final Fantasy 7!
Mind, it’s not just any Final Fantasy 7 Easter egg, but one that pays homage to the game’s hero, Cloud Strife! Check out the .gif below, where we see Cloud’s familiar sword twirl/flip victory pose after an enemy battle.
Cool, right? There’s even a text for the emote where it says the user “gained XP and AP” which is again, a nod to Final Fantasy 7, as after battle reports for the RPG shows the same text message. According to BoSolaris (whom we asked for permission for the .gif), this little nugget can be obtained by players by hitting Accolade level 21, which is quite far off the reward track.
Final Fantasy 7 is, of course, a property owned by Square Enix, which is publishing Outriders, so I kinda have a hunch that there won’t be any legal issues or whatnot tied to this.
After this Easter egg, I’m now more curious than ever to see whether People Can Fly snuck in some for other games too! Easter egg hunters can find out for themselves once the game launches this April 1 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
It appears that the world of EA Sports and FIFA are in hot water following a recent discovery on Twitter, as Dexerto.com reports that EA Gate is trending following the discovery that an EA Sports employee has been caught selling FIFA 21 icon cards for cash — leading to the latter being called out and condemning the action.
Here’s the entire issue disclosed via a tweet from Arcade-Fut.
As the story reports, this under the table dealing and practice started as the messages started spreading around Twitter.
The hashtag ‘EA Gate’ started trending, as leaked direct messages claim to show a conversation between what is allegedly an EA employee selling Ultimate Team cards for real cash. These can be seen below, in a tweet from FUTArcade. It must be noted that at this stage, nothing has been proven in relation to this case.
In the conversation, they say: “People are paying $2500 for R9 (Ronaldo) Moments and $1000 for Gullit Moments just to get them listed on the market.” Another message reads: “At the moment we have two packages and they are three ICONs or three ICONs plus TOTY.”
With Marvel’s Avengers Future Imperfect DLC set to launch next week, some might be wondering whether we’ll see more content once it’s out, and well, based on Crystal Dynamics’ statements, they are just getting started.
During the studio’s livestream for the game showcasing the PS5 version, studio rep who goes by the username “Crystal_PR_Guy” answered a few fan questions during the stream’s chat via Twitch. During the chat, the Crystal Dynamics rep mentioned that the upcoming Future Imperfect title update “is the end…of the beginning” when asked if this meant the end of Season 1.
In addition to to that, when asked if the main villains will always be AIM, the studio rep confirmed that the main villain in the game isn’t AIM suggesting that players will be taking on more villains soon!
We’ve given quite a few hints at what we’re building up to with the story and the Big Bad isn’t AIM.
Speaking of AIM, their fearless leader MODOK isn’t done with the Avengers, either! The rep hinted that we’ll see MODOK once again and said:
I don’t think we’ve seen the last of MODOK.
Does this mean we’re going to get more story-related DLC in the future? Hopefully, we do, as I do want to fight enemies that aren’t connected to AIM.

Looks like the folks behind The Last of Us and Uncharted are opening up a new position for their multiplayer division, as Naughty Dog is hiring anyone with experience for a Economy Designer position as listed on their official website.
Accompanying the job listing is an archived video of Game Design at Naughty Dog with workers describing how they do the job in the company.
Here’s the requirements for the economy designer position:
SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a passionate multiplayer economy designer who can help us create avenues for self-expression for our players, ensure robust longevity to our games, and give our players great rewards to strive for.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, implement, and tune game economy and player progression systems
Collaborate with other game designers to ensure economy systems synergize well with the game as a whole
Collaborate extensively with other departments, especially Programming, Character, and UI to drive production on code and art assets necessary to the player economy
Collaborate extensively with Live Ops team to optimize economy and respond to player needs
Develop data analytics for player behavior, and the strategy to respond to those results
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
As this position emphasized robust longevity — the speculation is that this may be in relation to The Last of Us Part 2. While the sequel to the 2013 Survival Horror hit has no online content, Naughty Dog could be prepping up something similar to the Factions multiplayer game that accompanied the first game. Time will tell and we’ll just have to see how it plays out. However, we also covered a massive TLOU2 leak that also suggested a multiplayer mode for the game is coming. This could be it.

Dev Note Hey there, folks. We’re experimenting with shorter update cycles on smaller fixes and features that we don’t necessarily want to hold for a larger update. So you’re going to start seeing small updates like this more often. Our main focus as a team is working on Chapter 03 and the NSO revamp, both of which are turning out to be pretty large updates at this point. On the 17th we’re targeting getting the first look of Chapter 03 and the new facility to the public test server, so prepare for a large download.
Once we get wind of the next patch, we’ll let our readers know.
