Star Wars Squadrons Update 1.06 November 11 Rolled Out for a Fix

While Motive Studios released a major patch for Star Wars Squadrons last week, the studio has released the Star Wars Squadrons update 1.06 November 11 and it’s purely for fixes! Given this is an unannounced patch, don’t expect any major changes or content. Check out the full patch notes below.

Star Wars Squadrons surprised me a lot. Being a $40 game with a full campaign, fairly deep progression and some enjoyable multiplayer modes, I was shocked that all of this came from the company that launched Star Wars Battlefront 2 a few years ago. Squadrons fly on that perfect line of arcadey feel and simulation, with settings that allow players to bring it more in line with what they want out of the game. EA seems to have finally figured out what players want with their Star Wars licenses, although it took quite a few years to get it right.

Black Ops Cold War Scorestreaks List, Operators, Gestures Available at Launch Revealed

While we already know the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapons that will be available at launch, as we well as the perks & field upgrades, we now have the complete Black Ops Cold War scorestreaks list and more available!

Remember that scorestreaks list that got leaked back in October? It seems it’s legit, though Treyarch has rejigged the values and placement of some of the streaks. Check out the complete list along with the score required for each below.

Black Ops Cold War Scorestreaks List (at launch):

As you can see compared to the leak in October, there are a load of streaks not included in that list above. Chances are, we’ll see these added throughout the game’s lifecyle during each season. Unless Treyarch took them out completely. There’s also the chance that we’ll see these on day one via an update, though I doubt that.

Operators (at launch):

Thankfully, Treyarch has decided to make Operators faction-exclusive! This should cut down on mistaking your teammates as enemies since they’re sporting the same character skin.

Gestures (at launch):

I’ve never really used gestures in any match in Call of Duty since it was introduced, but for those that do, here’s what you can use come launch.

Black Ops Cold War will shoot its way out this November 13 on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and willl also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

PS5 PH, Malaysian and Indonesian Release Dates & Prices Announced, Indonesia Launch Set for 2021

Following news of uncertainty reggarding the PS5 launch in Southeast Asia, those in the Philippines (PH) and Malaysia can breathe a sigh of relief as it has been confirmed by Sony that the PS5 will launch in those countries in 2020! The PS5 PH release date is the same as Malaysia, while those in Indonesia will have to wait until 2021 to get their taste of Sony’s next-gen console.

The PS5 will launch in the Philippines on December 11, 2020, and will retail for php 27,990. This is the Blu-ray disc drive version of the console, with no mention of whether the digital-only version will be available at launch or at a later date.

Sony: Transition From PS4 to PS5 Will Take About 3 Years, Development on PS4 “Necessary”

With the PS5 set to be released this week, most of the games coming at launch will also be available on the PS4. For those wondering how long this transition from current-gen to next-gen will last, Sony has mentioned it’s going to be about three years.

This was revealed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Vice President Hideaki Nishino in an interview with Japanese site AV Watch.

Nishino: In terms of compatibility, it is important to move PS4 titles on PS5, but I have insisted that forward compatibility (supplying the same titles as PS5 to PS4) is important.

The current assumption is that the transition from PS4 to PS5 will take about three years. In the meantime, how can I keep buying games on PS4? Can the purchased games be played on PS5? That is important.

At a certain time, we ask developers to develop on the premise of “cross generation” of PS4 and PS5. Of course, we also need to improve the library to make it easier.

In the same interview, Nishino talked about how the games being developed for both the PS4 and PS5 can be affected by the next-gen console’s more powerful hardware, and it’s not just about prettier visuals.

Nishino: In the discussion with Mark (Cerny), there was a story that “the game will change when the corridor disappears.” A “corridor” that moves between maps is often provided for loading the game, but if it loads faster, you don’t have to bother to create a “corridor” on the map.

NishinoI see … On the other hand, I also thought, “Then, if there are more ways to make it, what will happen to the existing PS4?” It was argued that “there is a good point”.

In fact, it may not be easy to develop PS5-specific development from Day 1. For the time being, development for PS4 is also necessary.

It’s not a PlayStation unless you prepare a system that developers can use up over several years, so I think there is great potential in the future.

Well, that certainly sheds a light on a few things, no? And of course, three years for the transition period doesn’t mean the PS5 will be shackled by forced last-gen compatibility either — at least I hope not. We do know some titles will be exclusive, with one being at launch which is Demon Soul’s, and Ratchet and Clank being another at a later date. Guess we’ll have to see how this really pans out in the coming years.

PSA: Target Warning PS5 Will Be Shipped in Original Packaging With “No Way to Hide It”

For those getting or who managed to snag a PS5 on Target, the retailer has issued a warning that the console will be shipped in its original packaging and that there is “no way to hide it.”

Update: According to customer support, the PS5 will ship in the standard brown target box.

Those who ordered via Target should be getting an email like the one we got today (red boxes are to hide personal info):

As you can see, the warning is in a different font color for added emphasis, it states, “Because this item ships in its original packaging, there’s no way to hide what it is.” Those living in rather sketchy neighborhoods, you might want to make sure you’re at home when your PS5 order from Target arrives, lest you have people stealing it since the PS5 is kinda super hard to get right now.

Genshin Impact Update 1.02 November 10 Introduces New Characters & More

Those addicted to miHoYo’s mega-hit Genshin Impact, there’s a new content drop out now! The Genshin Impact update 1.02 November 10 patch is live and it adds a slew of new characters, gameplay changes annd more! This update applies to all versions of the game (mobile, PC, consoles), and is a big download.

Vortex Vanquisher (5-Star Polearm)

◇ This sharp polearm can seemingly pierce through anything. When swung, one can almost see the rift it tears in the air.

The Unforged (5-Star Claymore)

◇ Capable of driving away evil spirits and wicked people alike, this edgeless claymore seems to possess divine might.

*The weapons Vortex Vanquisher (Polearm) and The Unforged (Claymore) will appear in a subsequent event wish.

Royal Spear (4-Star Polearm)

◇ This polearm was once cherished by a member of the old nobility that governed Mondstadt long ago. Although it has never seen the light of day, it is still incomparably sharp.

*The weapon Royal Spear (4-Star Polearm) will be available in Starglitter Exchange in the Shop.

1. New Archon Quest

◇ The mysterious emissary Ganyu appears before you at Third-Round Knockout. Claiming to have come at Ningguang’s behest, she invites you to the skyfaring palace known as the Jade Chamber.

To that end, you and Paimon have come to Mt. Tianheng, from where you can see the Jade Chamber in the distance…

◆ After the Version 1.1 Update, the Archon Quest Chapter 1: Act III – A New Star Approaches will become available. Complete this quest chain and obtain Primogems, Weapon Enhancement Materials, Character EXP Materials, and other rewards!

2. New Story Quests

◇ The Millelith have received numerous eyewitness reports recently that have confirmed an active Ruin Guard presence in an area far beyond their normal range of activity. After some investigation, you find that these Ruin Guards are, in fact, just toys for a certain child…

◆ After the Version 1.1 Update, the Story Quest Monoceros Caeli Chapter: Act I – Mighty Cyclops’ Adventure! will become available.

Complete this quest chain and obtain Primogems, Weapon Enhancement Materials, Character EXP Materials, and other rewards!

◆ The Story Quest Historia Antiqua Chapter: Act I – Sal Flore will also become available at a later date.

3. New World Quests

◆ As you increase your Reputation Level, you will unlock special city features, recipes, gadget blueprints, namecards, wind gliders, and other rewards.

Zoom out on the map to view the Exploration Progress for each area. Open chests, find Elemental Oculi, unlock Waypoints, and complete other exploration activities to increase your Exploration Progress in each area.

Xbox Live Down, Core Services Having Issues Worldwide

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, the next-generation of gaming is here, as the Xbox Series X|S are now available (or at least officially out even if you can’t buy it due to stock shortages). Unfortunately, the new console’s launch has been marred, as Xbox Live down reports are flooding in and have been throughout the day!

While the Xbox Live server outages have been happening the entire day, it apparently got fixed a few hours ago before going down yet again just now. The official Xbox Support page acknowledged this and have mentioned that they will be providing updates via the official Xbox Live statuts page.

The official status page lists that signing into Xbox Live is having issues now, which means players won’t be able to download games, play online, etc.

Sadly, this is also causing Xbox Series X|S owners grief in setting up their consoles and playing the game, as most Xbox Series X titles require an online activation to function.

Report: Black Ops Cold War Will Only Have 8 Maps Available at Launch

While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will follow Modern Warfare 2019’s post-launch content plans to give out free maps and more, it looks like players willl be getting a super small Black Ops Cold War  map count when it launches later this week.

Over on Reddit, an image of which maps will be available have made its way out via leaked early copies of the game. In the screenshot, it lists eight maps:

  • Cartel
  • Checkmate
  • Crossroads
  • Garrison
  • Miami
  • Moscow
  • Satellite

We’ve already seen Armada, Cartel, Miami, Satellite, Crossroads and Moscow during the Black Ops Cold War beta, which means, that if the screenshot above is legit, we just have two new maps to discover come launch! While I appreciate that we’re getting Nuketown in November, and more new maps in the future, launching with just eight maps is a bit too thin — especially if you consider that some of the maps will only be playable in large scale modes.

Of course, given this is from a leaked build without any patches applied and whatnot, maybe this isn’t the full Black Ops Cold War launch maps. Here’s to hoping!

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.14 November 10 Released (Update)

Heads up, true believers! Crystal Dynamics has released the Marvel’s Avengers update 1.14 November 10 patch. This clocks in at 2.6GB on PS4, and is also out on PC and Xbox One. Head on below for the details.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.14 November 10 Patch Notes:

  • Various performance improvements
  • Various crash & freeze fixes
  • Fixed an issue that cause the same boss to appear in both Villain Sector Faction Assignments each day.
  • Fixed a rare issue where players would become stuck in the Quinjet when traveling to an outpost.
  • Fixed a rare issue where Hulk would block the camera view in Quinjet when assigned as a companion.
  • Implemented a fix for AI companions being unable to revive players if they are downed on top of a Warbot.
  • Fixed an issue during “Hello Old Friend” where players are instructed to interact with the War Table but are unable to do so.
  • Fixed a rare issue in Elite Hives where a player cannot capture the servers after being downed and respawning.
  • Fixed a rare issue when Thor is re-introduced and a cut scene would not load, preventing progression.
  • Fixed a rare issue where Black Widow and Kamala would swap character models, blocking player progression.
  • Fixed an issue where perks exclusive to the upcoming Cloning Lab – such as Lab Breaker – were incorrectly active in other modes.
  • Fixed a rare issue where Black Widow’s baton staff would appear incorrectly oriented on her back.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Black Widow’s Saboteur Outfit to only have glasses on in the Main Menu.
  • Fixed a rare issue which occurred when Hulk threw multiple enemies, causing one to be stuck mid-air in the grab animation.

  • Fixed a rare issue where players could not see themselves or their strike team when loading into a matchmaking lobby.

  • Various UI fixes including replacing placeholder text, incorrect text, and non-localized text.
  • Updated and corrected various skill/gear descriptors.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes, inspecting gear would cover relevant stats.
  • Improved the beam attack indicator to make players more aware of their surroundings and incoming attacks.
  • Faction Reward notification removed from helicarrier as Shield Faction Vendor moved to Substation Zero. Notifications will only appear in outposts where the vendor is at.
  • Fixed a rare issue where interact button prompts would not fill when holding the interact button.
  • Fixed an issue where UI would be stuck on screen indefinitely if the Hulkbuster ran out mid-interact.
  • Fixed an issue where Thor’s ‘Alfheim’s Favor’ Ultimate Heroic skill didn’t match the description at higher power levels.
  • Fixed rare occurrences of Iron Man Melee gear having a ranged icon/name.
  • Fixed an issue where the objective marker would appear on the Hulkbuster when the ability was used.
  • Fixed an issue where a resource crate icon would persist when opening a crate after reloading checkpoint.
  • Fixed an issue where Captain America’s Brooklyn Brawler specialization “Strong Arm” did not give increase in ranged damage.
  • Increased the time between Abomination’s attacks on downed players to provide a better chance of revival from companions.
  • Intrinsic Hero guards have been balanced to be more consistent against ranged attacks made by Keepers and Aero Keepers.
  • Fixed an issue where Kamala’s Focused Heart skill would unintentionally refresh the Hulkbuster energy meter and put it in an unresponsive state.
  • Fixed a rare issue where enemies could attack players from behind a closed door.
  • Fixed a rare issue that would sometimes result in Captain America sliding backwards after using Sprint Block.
  • Fixed a rare issue where Black Widow was sometimes unable to aim/shoot her ranged weapons after interacting with an object such as a console or core.
  • Fixed a rare issue where enemies would become stuck in the ground after Kamala uses Crushing Grasp on them following a takedown.
  • Added a 5% XP bonus for selecting “Quick Match” and 10% XP bonus for using “Quick Match with any Hero”.
  • Gear/Reward fixes across War Table missions to ensure expected/guaranteed rewards.
  • Fixed an issue where the ‘Shopping Spree’ trophy/achievement could be unlocked without making purchases from a Faction Vendor

Note that Crystal Dynamics has not released the official patch notes just yet, but should do so in an hour or two, as is usually the case with these Marvel’s Avengers patches. But thanks to the community, we have some of the first known changes!

Here are some of the changes per reliable Marvel’s Avengers dataminer Miller:

  • “Virtually Unstoppable” mission chain being stuck bug is fixed.
  • Outfit prices reverted

Once Crystal Dynamics publishes the official patch notes, we’ll update the post.

Destiny 2 Update 3.0.0 Beyond Light Patch Notes Unleashed

While the actual data file was already released by Bungie last night (over the weekend for PS4 players), we didn’t know the exact list of changes until now. Bungie has released the Destiny 2 update 3.0.0. Beyond Light patch notes! Even if you don’t own the expansion, there are gameplay-related changes you’ll want to know.

Destiny 2 Update 3.0.0 Beyond Light Patch Notes:

Rewards 

Vendor Armor

  • Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit vendors now all reward a Prime version of their respective ritual engram for completing the weekly challenge.
    • These engrams award the ritual’s new Season of the Hunt armor on a knockout list until the full set has been obtained.
    • Once the full set is obtained the engrams drop re-rolls of the ritual armor as well as world weapons. (Note this is on a per-ritual basis; each ritual engram assesses separately.)
    • All armor dropped from these engrams is high stat armor.
  • The base (non-Prime) version of Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit engrams now drops world armor until the respective ritual set has been obtained from the Prime ritual engram.
  • Once the ritual set has been obtained from the Prime ritual engram, low-stat ritual armor will drop.
  • Zavala, Shaxx, and Drifter now sell low-stat versions of their new Season of the Hunt armor. Armor must be obtained from the ritual’s Prime engram before it can be purchased.

Engrams

  • Engram previews for most gear engrams have been removed.
  • The following engrams had new versions created in Season of the Hunt: Legendary World, Prime, Crucible, Gambit, Vanguard, Gunsmith, and Iron Banner. Older versions of these engrams will be removed from the game in Season 13.
    • Players with a back-stock of these engrams in the Postmaster are advised to extract and decrypt these engrams before the end of Season of the Hunt.

Economy

  • Spider has made several changes to his inventory as follows:
    • He has grown jealous of the large stocks of Legendary Shards Guardians have saved up, and now covets them. To that end he will no longer part with Legendary Shards.
    • He has obtained Enhancement Prisms to sell but will part with no more than three per week for each customer.
      • He has priced these at 400 Legendary Shards each.
    • Enhancement Cores are now fixed in price at 30 Legendary Shards each (they do not ascend with each purchase) but are limited to 5 per day for each customer.
  • Zavala’s and Shaxx’s Boons and the Eververse’s Gleaming Boons have been deprecated and can be dismantled to recover their original full purchase price.
  • Economy, Currencies, Faction of the Nine, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, Future War Cult faction tokens, and all Rare destination materials can now be safely discarded and can be deleted as a full stack.
  • Banshee-44 and the Spider will still accept planetary materials from Vaulted destinations for the duration of Season of the Hunt.
    • These materials will be deprecated in a future season and players are advised to spend them during Season of the Hunt.
  • Season Pass
    • Season Pass rewards have been refreshed for Season of the Hunt.
    • Additional Bright Dust has been added to the Season Pass reward tracks as follows:
      • Free Track: Added 5,200 to the already present 2,300, for a total of 7,500.
      • Paid Track: Added 2,600 to the already present 400, for a total of 3,000.
    • Weekly Bounties will now award 100 Bright Dust
  • Eververse
    • Starting in Season of the Hunt, Bright Engrams will now contain all Eververse content from Season 1 to three Seasons prior to the current Season (excluding content from special events like Festival of the Lost, the Dawning, etc.). Here are some practical examples:
      • Season of the Hunt: Bright Engrams contain all content from Seasons 1 through 9.
      • Season 13: Bright Engrams contain all content from Seasons 1 through 10.

Ghosts

  • All existing and new Ghost Shells except the Generalist Shell now have energy levels and access to mods with various energy costs instead of being pre-loaded with specific perks.
  • Ghosts now have four mod slots. Three are unlocked by default, and the fourth is unlocked by Masterworking the Shell.
  • Kill Tracker functionality remains only on Ghosts that originally had access to that perk.
  • Other pre-existing Ghost perks have been turned into mods and some have been made into more globalized versions of their past functionality.
  • A selection of mods are available on all Ghost Shells by default, with the remaining ones obtainable via various gameplay sources (information on where to find these mods can be learned from Collections).
  • No mods will be obtained from the Eververse and Eververse purchased Shells will have no advantages or functional differences from Ghost Shells earned in game.

Sparrows

  • All Sparrows intrinsically fast-summon now.
    • Newly acquired or reacquired from Collections sparrows no longer roll on the Speed Demon(fast-summoning) perk.
    • Players are advised to re-pull any sparrows they presently are using that have fast-summon to gain a new perk combo.

General Fixes

  • Matterscourge ornament can no longer be reacquired from Collections.
  • Last Perdition on Shaxx now dismantles for less than its vendor cost.
  • Universal Ornament item descriptions no longer refer specifically to Year-3 items.
  • Emotes now display flavor text on the item detail screen or when being previewed on the Eververse store.
  • Added icons to weapons that were missing their release watermark.
  • Exotic Ciphers can no longer be added to a player’s Vault.
    • Players saving an Exotic Cipher in their Vault must remove it and spend it before they can acquire a new one.
  • Armor affinity now display on player inspect.

Bounties

  • Lectern of Enchantment weekly bounty no longer references Nightmares on Io or Titan.
    • Progress is now made from defeating Nightmares on the Moon.

Power & Progression

  • Powerful sources, weekly rituals with Powerful rewards released with Shadowkeep no longer grant Powerful rewards.
    • These rewards have been moved to new rituals released with Beyond Light.
  • Once the character’s gear Power has reached the soft cap (1200 in Beyond Light), it will now be possible to receive small Powerful upgrades from some normal drops.
    • These will come from strikes, Crucible, and Gambit as well as some Seasonal sources, and are not subject to daily nor weekly lockouts.
    • These can drop until the Power Cap (1250 in Beyond Light).
  • Reduced the Power level of some vendor token rewards.

Player Identity 

  • Login screens now have a dark background.
  • Updated the Full-screen Menus to have a dark background style.
  • Player waypoints now display Season Rank, HUD waypoints.
    • Character Creation:
    • Changed selection from “Male” & “Female” to “Masculine” & “Feminine.”
    • Guardian head and hair models have been replaced with improved versions.
    • Several color swatches have been changed to better represent the applied color.
    • Players previous head selections are still used.
  • Added toggle functionality to the character screen, allowing the player to make a choice between Light and Dark subclasses.
    • Character screen visuals updated depending on player choice between Light and Dark.

Triumphs

  • Triumph Screen Updates:
    • Navigation has been added to Triumphs and Seals to toggle between Active and Legacy content.
    • Legacy Triumphs and Seals have a new visual style to distinguish them from Active content.
    • Medals, Exotic Catalysts, and Lore have been given their own section within the Triumphs screen.
    • Improved Lore screen added for better book/page navigation.
    • Triumphs now display both the current step reward and final completion reward.
  • Triumphs have had an overhaul and are now categorized in a new way.
    • Lifetime Triumph sets will persist across all Seasons and introduces new players to the core aspects of Destiny.
    • Destination Triumph sets will move to the Legacy section when the related destination enters the Destiny Content Vault.
    • Seasonal Triumph sets will move to the Legacy section at the end of each year.
  • Legacy Triumph Sets and Seals are found in the Legacy section.
    • Legacy sets will not apply to your Active Triumph Score.
    • Players can still see their Legacy set scores and which Triumphs they completed in time.
    • All the Legacy Seals and their related Triumphs can be seen on the Legacy page.
    • Titles for completed Legacy Seals can still be equipped
  • Several new Stat Trackers were added to the system including, but not limited to, weapon-type Stat Trackers gated behind new Triumph completions.
    • Prophecy Dungeon Stat Trackers have been moved to the Open World category matching other Dungeon related Stat Trackers.

Combat 

Weapons

  • Hand Cannons
    • Aggressive
      • Increased Rate of Fire (RoF) from 110 to 120.
      • Broke out Aggressive Hand Cannons, allowing custom tuning of stats (e.g. damage falloff for 100 range in this subfamily now starts at 32m).
    • Adaptive and Precision
      • Range stat now has more impact on minimum damage falloff range for both archetypes.
      • Damage falloff for 100 range now starts at 25m, was 20m.
    • Precision Hand Cannon
      • 180 RoF magazine scaled up by 37 percent.
      • Note: This also affects Exotics with that RoF.
    • Lightweight (folded in to Adaptive)
      • Moved all Lightweight Hand Cannons (150 RoF) to the Adaptive subfamily (140 RoF).
    • This includes Luna’s Howl and Not Forgotten.
      • One Exotic Hand Cannon will retain 150 RoF.
      • We aren’t going to leave it to speculation.
      • It’s beautiful.
      • It does Solar damage.
      • It makes enemies explode.
      • It’s Sunshot.
  • Sniper Rifles
    • Adjusted how aim assist (AA) is affected by Sniper Rifle Zoom rating. The lower the Zoom the lower the AA and vice versa. Scopes with around 50 Zoom are unchanged.
    • Lowest-Zoom scopes have a large reduction in AA cone angle.
    • Highest-Zoom scopes have a small increase.
  • Auto Rifles
    • Adaptive
      • Damage per bullet reduced from 15.75 to 14.25.
      • Note: Prior to Season of the Worthy, damage per bullet was 13.75.
  • Scout Rifles
    • Increased how much each point of the AA stat widens the AA cone.
    • At maximum, the AA cone is now 15 percent wider.
  • Rocket Launchers
    • Increased reserves by 1 or 2 rockets depending on Inventory stat.
  • Perks
    • Outlaw – Reload speed increase felt insufficient with certain subfamilies and combinations of rolls (e.g. Aggressive Hand Cannons).
      • Increased Reload stat bonus from +50 to +70.
  • Merciless
    • Increased Inventory stat from 36 to 55 (this increases reserve ammo).
  • Mountaintop
    • Reduced splash damage by 33 percent, increased impact damage such that total damage is 5 percent lower than before.
    • Reduced projectile velocity multiplier from the Micro-Missile perk from 1.4 to 1.2. (i.e., now 20 percent faster than other breech Grenade Launchers instead of 40 percent).
    • Reduced in-air accuracy. Now has significant projectile error while in-air (around 7 degrees without the Icarus Grip mod, substantially less with).
  • Falling Guillotine
    • Reduced Heavy Attack damage by ~24 percent to bring in line with other Swords.
    • Note: Falling Guillotine will continue to be slightly above average, just not to the extent that it is now.
  • MIDA Multi-Tool and MIDA Mini-Tool
    • MIDA Mini-Tool
      • Moved the “Mida Synergy” trait to the intrinsic, similar to how the (Baroque) version works.
      • Added the following perks:
        • Hip-Fire Grip
        • Kill Clip
    • NOTE: There is an issue with the Masterwork on this weapon that prevents it from being upgraded. This will be fixed in a later update.
    • NOTE: The Gunsmith will begin selling a version of this weapon on November 10 with no infusion cap.
  • Sturm and Drang
    • Drang
      • Moved the “Together Forever” trait to the intrinsic, similar to how the (Baroque) version works
      • Added the following perks:
      • Accurized Rounds
      • Moving Target
      • NOTE: There is an issue with the masterwork on this weapon that prevents it from being upgraded. This will be fixed in a later update.
      • NOTE: The Gunsmith will begin selling a version of this weapon on November 10 with no infusion cap.
  • Ruinous Effigy
    • Transmutation Spheres
    • Reduced the damage of the aerial melee attack by 25 percent.
    • Significantly reduced the damage of the drain effect on enemy combatants.
  • Arbalest
    • No longer strikes shields multiple times, but its efficacy against shielded targets has been increased.
  • Jade Rabbit
    • Armor Piercing Rounds swapped to High Caliber Rounds.
    • This fixes an issue that could prevent the Exotic perk from triggering.
  • Traveler’s Chosen
    • Reduced muzzle flash intensity.
  • Point of the Stag
    • Increased Point of the Stag’s Max Power Level to 1310.
  • Divinity
    • Fixed a bug that prevented some weapons from dealing precision damage to the Divinity cage (e.g. Eriana’s Vow).

Energy Type Requirements

  • All of the weapon-oriented armor mods (e.g. Hand Cannon Loader, Fusion Rifle Ammo Finder, etc.) have been changed to be any energy type.
    • As a result of the above change, all Arc Charged with Light mods now activate their second perk if you have any other Arc mod equipped on the same armor piece, or if you have any other Arc Charged with Light mod socketed in any other armor piece you are wearing.

Enhanced Mod Rebalancing

  • All mods that have an Enhanced version of that mod (e.g. Enhanced Hand Cannon Loader) have had the base mods’ efficacy increased to match that of the Enhanced version of the mod.
    • As a result, those Enhanced mods have been deprecated, and the base mods’ energy costs have been adjusted upward slightly (but are still lower than the equivalent Enhanced mods).
  • Some mods have moved to different slots to create more competition for mod sockets across armor pieces (for example, the Fast Ready mods have moved to the Arms socket).

Raid Mods

  • Starting in Season of the Hunt, Last Wish, Garden of Salvation, and the upcoming Beyond Light raid armors will now drop with a fifth, dedicated armor mod socket that is exclusively for the mods related to that raid.
    • Anti-Taken mods from Last Wish will only function in the Last Wish raid.
    • Anti-Hive mods from the Leviathan raid will be deprecated.
    • Anti-Fallen raid mods from Scourge of the Past will be deprecated.
  • Last Wish and Garden of Salvation armor acquired prior to Season of the Hunt will not have this dedicated armor socket but will still be able to use the mods related to that raid in the new Legacy armor mod socket.

Combat Mods

  • All armor released in Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt, all Last Wish and Garden of Salvation armor acquired starting in Season of the Hunt, and all Armor 2.0 Exotic armor pieces (including those already possessed by players) will have a Combat style mod socket.
    • In Season of the Hunt, this socket will accept all Charged with Light and Warmind Cell mods.
  • All Armor 2.0 armor acquired during Seasons 8 through 11 have had their Seasonal mod sockets replaced with a single, unified Legacy mod socket that can socket all Charged with Light mods, all Warmind Cell mods, all Nightmare Hunt mods, all Garden of Salvation mods, and all Last Wish mods.
  • Banshee-44 now has a chance to sell armor mods from Black Armory, Season 10, and Season 11.

Anti-Champion Mods

  • Anti-barrier rounds will now penetrate Taken Phalanx shields.
  • All Anti-Champion mods have been shifted to armor, rather than taking a weapon mod slot.

Abilities

  • Increased Hunter’s dodge cooldown by a few seconds
    • (E.g. Tier 4 original cooldown: 22 sec. New cooldown: 26 sec)
  • Orbs of Light have been changed to Orbs of Power as they can now be consumed by Light and Dark subclasses.

Activities 

Vanguard

  • Removed Legacy Nightfall and Heroic story mission nodes.
  • Nightfall: The Ordeal
    • Adjusted Adept recommended Power level to 1180, matchmaking is available at 1150.
    • All versions of Nightfall: The Ordeal now fill player ammo at the start of the activity (like Grandmaster has always done).

Gambit

  • Merged Gambit and Gambit Prime into a single mode
    • Single round.
    • Gambit Prime encounters, with all a large boss combatants reduced in potency.
    • Gambit Prime mote targets and drain.
    • Gambit Prime blockers, with the Phalanx taking the place of the Captain for 10 motes.
    • Gambit Prime invasion cadence, with longer cooldown between invasions.
    • Gambit boss fight, with increased Primeval health and Slayer buff potency.
    • Removed Gambit Prime armor perks.  ###Crucible
  • Updated the Crucible’s featured modes:

New Light

  • Greatly expanded the New Light experience

    • Created additional new user experience tutorials to help explain equipping weapons and armor, quests and bounties, lost sectors, strike matchmaking, and more.

    • This quest has been folded into the New Light campaign experience.
  • Subclass Acquisition
    • New Light players who do not have a veteran account with all subclasses unlocked will now acquire alternate subclasses from Ikora
    • New characters can earn pursuits to unlock their additional subclasses by speaking with Ikora after their first strike.
    • All subclass pursuits are class scoped just as their subclasses are.
    • Alternate characters with missing subclasses can acquire them by speaking with Ikora and accepting the subclass pursuit package.
  • Added a new vendor to the Tower, located to the left of the Postmaster.
    • The Quest Archive Vendor functions much like the Destiny 1 Abandoned Quests Kiosk as well as a way to acquire older pursuits.
    • The kiosk has subpages that group the pursuits just as they are seen on your Quests page.
    • Going forward any pursuits abandoned will go to this vendor.
    • Older pursuits can now also be found on this vendor.
    • This is to help ensure that vendors do not become overwhelmed by older content.
  • Triumphs are now unlocked as part of the New Light experience
    • Prior to this moment you will not be able to navigate Triumphs if your account has not yet unlocked them.
    • Unlocking Triumphs on any character enables them for all.
    • There are categories of Triumphs under Lifetime that unlock as a result of claiming adjacent Triumphs.
  • The Season Pass and its rewards are now unlocked as part of the New Light experience
    • Unlocking the Season Pass on any character enables it for the entire account.
    • The first time you unlock the Season Pass you will earn 5 free ranks, up to rank 5.
    • Rested XP is also not enabled until the Season Pass has been unlocked.
    • The moment that the Season Pass is unlocked both Rested XP and Challenges are enabled.
  • Destinations unlock via XP if you do not own the expansion associated with that destination.
    • Unlock Order:
      • Cosmodrome
      • Europa
      • EDZ

  • Crucible and Gambit
    • These activities are now unlocked after reaching the Tower and picking up the associated pursuit from Lord Shaxx and Drifter respectively.

    • These pursuits can be acquired when returning to the Tower after your first strike.
    • They can be picked up, but they will not advertise on the vendor waypoint/tooltip until you’ve progressed through the game further.
  • Strikes can be unlocked after completing the first step of the strike introduction pursuit provided by Zavala.
  • The Forsaken campaign now has the same introduction behavior as Shadowkeep and Europa.
    • All players regardless of expansions owned get to experience the first mission of the Forsaken campaign upon unlocking the Tangled Shore.
    • Completing this activity is a requirement for unlocking Free Roam on the Tangled Shore.
    • Accounts that own Forsaken will automatically be given the remainder of the campaign and may continue as they see fit.
    • Accounts that do not own Forsaken will be able to pick up the remaining campaign for Forsaken from the Quest Archive vendor once they’ve purchased it.
    • Accounts that do not own Forsaken can still explore the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City after having unlocked their patrol zones.
  • Beyond Light
    • Veteran characters who log in and qualify for the start of the Beyond Light campaign will be automatically launched into it.
    • New characters who log in and qualify for the start of the Beyond Light campaign, but have not completed the New Light quest, will not be automatically launched into it.
    • This does not disable a new character from manually starting the Beyond Light campaign.
  • Chaperone Acquisition
    • There is now an alternative pursuit for acquiring the Exotic Shotgun, Chaperone.
      • This pursuit may be acquired via Shaw Han on the Cosmodrome or the Quest Archive Vendor in the Tower.
      • This pursuits requires ownership of Beyond Light.
    • The pre-existing pursuit for Chaperone continues to exist as-is and remains part of the Forsaken expansion.  ###Misc
  • Fixed a bug that prevented online friends from showing up in the roster on Stadia for players with over 100 friends.
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally prevented players from earning progress on bounties when joining an activity in progress.

PC

  • PC players with compatible NVIDIA cards and drivers will be able to take advantage of Destiny 2 integration with NVIDIA Reflex, reducing “click-to-display” latency during gameplay.

Environment

  • Updated lighting in a number of areas on EDZ and Nessus.
  • Updated lighting and sky atmosphere for EDZ.

Localization

  • Due to the challenges of voice recording during a global pandemic, different actors had to be used for the following characters:

Advanced Rendering

General

  • Ravenloft: Certain tutorial popups no longer stay active forever after leaving the tutorial hunt.
  • Umbraxakar’s Lair: The beams from the Amulet of Selûne are now visible from a longer distance.
  • Underdark Heroic Encounters: Demonic Escape’s required time has been reduced to 2.5 minutes, down from 5 minutes, to bring it in line with other Demonic Heroic Encounters.
  • Vallenhas: A skill node has been moved out of collision.

Events

  • Harvester of Nightmares: Players can no longer complete the Inception quest twice per run under certain circumstances.
  • Harvester of Nightmares: Players may no longer pick up Haunting the Harvester on multiple characters in the same day.

    • Dev note: These items were never meant to be granted, and could not be opened or redeemed for anything. Instead, they wasted space in one’s inventory until thrown away. They have now been removed so as to not be mistakenly held on to while wasting space.
  • Various minor typos have been addressed.

User Interface

General

  • The support suggestion URL has been updated.

Auction House

  • (Xbox, PS4) When consigning equipped items from the Auction House, the cursor can again properly be moved.

Home Page

  • The Blood Ruby Pack ad now opens the Refinement Pack entry in the Zen Market.
  • The “New Hairstyles” ad no longer appears, as these hairstyles are no longer new.
  • The Star Rover Key Bundle ad no longer appears, as this no longer shows up in the Zen Market.

Mounts

  • (PC) The “Choose New Equip Power” window can now be resized and moved.

Friday the 13th The Game Update 1.39 November 9 Kills Servers but Brings Changes

Developer Illfonic has released the Friday the 13th The Game update 1.39 November 9, which is the final update for the game, as its servers are being killed off, though the game will still be playable for gamers (just not with dedicated servers). Head on below for what’s set to be the final round of patch notes for the game.

The patch should be out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, while the Nintendo Switch version has been delayed.

Friday the 13th The Game Update 1.39 November 9 Patch Notes:

Combat Stance 

  • Commonly referred to as Sliding or Teleporting, the team has fixed an issue allowing players to manipulate combat stance changes.
  • Players may still see, when in spectator mode, counselors attempting to perform the exploit, however this is a visual artifact.

Pocket Knife Issues

  • Instant break free by using health spray or firecrackers when grabbed, resulting in not only an instant break free but also retention of the player’s pocket knife, has been fixed.
  • Loss of pocket knives in circumstances when firecrackers are used has also been fixed.

Jason – Game Play

  • Ability Unlock/Recharge Rate toggle in private matches has been fixed to include both parameters.
  • Lobby icon irregularities resulting in an inaccurate lobby icon have been fixed.
  • Abduction, when Jason is able to Morph while holding a counselor, has been fixed.
  • Mask HP loopholes where use of a flare gun or firecrackers could get the mask to come off too quickly have been fixed.
  • Jason Kill Sequence – Kneel: The issue where the kneeling animation during the Jason Kill process could be repeated has been fixed.

Counselor – Game Play

  • Hiding Under Bed: An issue where players could hide under beds and become stuck in a way where Jason could not kill them has been fixed. While it is still possible in some instances to cause the bug, the counselor will be able to be killed by Jason in that state.
  • Lobby icon irregularities resulting in an inaccurate lobby icon have been fixed.
  • Numerous safe spots around the maps have been fixed, including the Pinehurst Roof method by way of Tommy’s bed.
  • Players will now see an error if they roll and sell perks too quickly, but the game will stay functional and no longer lock up. Players can then continue to roll and sell perks, being cautious of not overloading the roll system.
  • An issue causing the Counselor clothing options to not save properly when altering color/items has been resolved. Feel free to go back to playing Pink Cop Kenny.
  • Tommy Jarvis voice lines have been restored, and this is between him and Jason.

General

  • Various Interaction Locks have been fixed, particularly those that occurred when players would input either multiple button presses or rapid button presses in short succession, rapid pick up and put down of items, and multiple inputs appearing with on screen prompts.
  • Fuse Box and Fuse spawn for the Cop call has been extended to ensure the fuse does not spawn inside the house with the fuse repair box.
  • With this patch, matchmaking will shift away from Dedicated Servers and onto Peer to Peer Matchmaking for all matches.
    • The game will still be playable online publicly with the Quick Play option and privately with the Private Match option.

Thrustmaster Next-Gen ESWAP Controller Announced for Xbox Series X

Gaming peripheral maker Thrustmaster has announced the latest member of its product lineup and it’s none other than the next-gen ESWAP controller for the Xbox Series X|S called the “ESWAP X Pro Controller.”

The ESWAP controller is a modular gaming pad that offers interchangeable parts, and the next-gen version offers the same, but with added improvements such as next-gen mini-sticks for a longer lifespan and greater precision, the ability to lock the triggers, manual button remapping, and headset volume control!

Take-Two Interactive Reaches Agreement to Acquire Codemasters

Rockstar Games and 2K Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has reached an agreement to acquire Codemasters — the studio most notably known for racing franchises such as the Dirt and F1 series, and is also the parent company of Slightly Mad Studios (Project Cars).

In the press release, it mentions that the acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of calendard 2021. The transaction values each Codemasters’ share at 485 pence ($6.39) and an implied equity value of approximately £759 million ($994 million).

Take-Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick released a statement for the company’s acquisition of the UK-based company.

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Neon Dawn Needs a Casino Map

Over the weekend, Ubisoft officially revealed Rainbow Six Siege Operation Neon Dawn. This is the latest and final expansion for Rainbow Six Siege Year 5. Following on from Operation Shadow Legacy, this expansion brings a Defender to compliment Sam Fisher, or Zero as he’s called in the game. While the Attacker we got last time can use a camera that can see through almost any obstacle and door, we’re about to get one who can turn any opening into a lethal barrier.

Aruni will arrive with a laser grid that can be deployed across any opening. It’ll prevent almost every projectile in the game from passing through it. Not only that though, but it’ll also deal a hefty chunk of damage to any Operator stupid enough to barge through it. This Operator matches her gadget, with bright colors over all of her gear, including her prosthetic limbs. While all of this is very coordinated, I can’t help but look at this expansion and feel the need for a casino map.

I’ve harped on about why Rainbow Six Vegas was so good in the past, so I won’t bore you about it again. But it really was a masterpiece in two games. I also touched upon the fact that Rainbow Six Siege should have a Vegas map by now, but it still doesn’t. I have no idea why Ubisoft wouldn’t put two and two together and finally bring a casino map to the game with an expansion called Neon Dawn. It practically writes itself.

However, for all the flashing neon lights that make you forget that it’s 1 am, the $10 lobster dinner signs, and the themed gambling rooms filled with identical slot machines, there is a better alternative. These days, most people, particularly with the pandemic showing no signs of subsiding, are opting to use a casino online. There are loads of them, whether you’re based in the US, Canada, or the UK. There are so many options that it can be quite difficult to choose the best one.

I think this partly plays into why Ubisoft hasn’t added a casino map to Rainbow Six Siege. I now look back at Rainbow Six Vegas, and no matter how much I love them, the game’s environments look dated. I visited Vegas about ten years ago, and it felt dated then. The only way a casino map could really work in a game in 2020 is if it was a museum, a movie set, or a mock-up designed for combat practice. Today, most people have very few reasons to go to a casino, and I don’t think that’s likely to change.

I would still love to see a casino map in Neon Dawn though. No other Rainbow Six Siege expansion has felt so apt for one. It feels very much like a missed opportunity. Maybe I’m wrong though. In Year 6, we could get a casino map as part of the first expansion and two Operators who use coin-based weaponry.

NBA 2K21 Is 72GB on XSX, PS5 Version Will Require Minimum of 150GB

For those hoping to shoot some hoops on the next-gen version of NBA 2K21, you may want to be sure you have enough space as it has been confirmed that the PS5 version will require a minimum of 150GB!

Amazon has shipped early copies of NBA 2K21 for the PS5, which an image was shared by Robo3687 over on reddit of the backside of the case.

As you can see from the requirements, the PS5 version will need a minimum of 150GB in order to be installed. For comparison the PS4 version currently weighs in around 42 to 50GB, meaning the PS4 version is 3 times the size. Though it’s important to note that this listed number on box cases has always somewhat been misleading in the past, at least for PS4 games as they are generally larger than the actually file size.

This may be the case, as the Xbox Series X version is reasonably smaller, clocking in at just 72GB for our download.

Of course we’ll know the true size of the PS5 version here real soon as the title will become available to download the same day as the PS5 launch, which is November 12. We’ll be sure to update this post if the size differs, but for now just be prepared for the game to take up a large chunk of your SSD.
