Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3 Trailer Reveals Cham Cham and Hibiki Takane

Get ready for more warriors to join the fight in the latest entry of the Samurai Shodown series, as SNK has revealed the newest fighters for “Samurai Shodown” in Cham Cham and Hibiki Takane — who join the roster with Season Pass 3.

Here’s the reveal trailer for the two new combatants as released by the Samurai Shodown team.

First introduced in Samurai Showdown II way back in 1994, Cham Cham is a feline like warrior who uses a boomerang as her signature weapon. The character is the younger sister of the mask wearing warrior Tam Tam, and she has since become a fan favorite of the series. She will become available with Season Pass 3 some time this March.

Hibiki Takane on the other hand hails from another popular weapon based fighting game by SNK — The Last Blade. The daughter of a swordsmith who passes away after creating a sword for a mysterious man, Hibiki searches for this swordsman to find answers and avenge her father’s mysterious death. Her inclusion in Samurai Shodown marks the latest crossover SNK has done for their fighting games properties much like The King of Fighters series. She’ll be available to play with Season Pass 3 at a later date this year.

King of Fighters 15 Trailer Revealed by SNK, Sequel Arrives This Year

Fans of SNK’s long running King of Fighters saga who were anxiously waiting for updates finally got it, as SNK Global finally released the reveal trailer for “The King of Fighters 15” — which showcases a taste of things to come for the new sequel coming sometime this year.

Here’s the reveal trailer released in stunning 4K definition by SNK Global.

Acting as a continuation of the events of the previous installment, KOF 15 will once again feature new lead protagonist Shun’ei — a chinese martial artist who is the student and adopted grandchild of Fatal Fury veteran Tung Fu Rue. In the previous game, it was revealed that Shun’ei contained a fragment of the power held by boss character Verse, and upon defeating the villain is training harder to keep his powers under control.

While no specific details have been released by SNK on what platforms and date KOF 15 will be released, the trailer confirms several fan favorite characters returning — including Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, K’, Leona Heidern, and Mai Shiranui. While there’s no sign of Terry Bogard or the others yet, you can bet they’ll be revealed in the next set of updates — beginning next week as SNK announced at the end of this reveal trailer.

While Paladins players just got the Eternal Pyre content update earlier this week, Hi-Rez Studios has announced the Paladins new champion incoming in Season 4 Calamity! Yagorath The Destroyer is coming and we have the details straight from the Hi-Rez digital event!

Charge forward for 4s. Hitting an enemy will deal 500 damage and apply a Knockback. Cannot be canceled.

Hunker down for up to 4s, increasing your base Damage Reduction by 25%. After this ability ends, deal damage to enemies within 25 units based on the duration of the ability. Base damage is 300 and maximum damage is 1100. You cannot be stunned while this ability is active. Can be refired to cancel early.
[ABILITY 1 – TRAVEL FORM] PRIMAL VISION
Let out a series of 5 pulses that briefly reveal enemies within 150 units to yourself and your team.
 

[ABILITY 2] FORM SWAP
Swap between your Planted and Travel forms, gaining access to a new set of abilities. In Planted form, you are unable to move. Swapping forms is not affected by Cripple

[ULTIMATE] DEVOUR
Target an enemy to start pulling them to you, swapping your current Health for a new 4000-Health pool. Your target is immune to damage and Crowd Control and cannot move during this process, but can still fire their weapon at you. If your Health pool is depleted before they are devoured, you drop your target; otherwise, they are Executed. Can only be used in Planted Form.

EA Madden 21 Update 1.22 January 7 Barrels Out

EA Vancouver has released the EA Madden 21 update 1.22 January 7 patch, or wha the studio calls the January update for the sports sim. Note that this patch applies to the current-gen and last-gen version, with the changes listed below.

EA Madden 21 Update 1.22 January 7 Patch Notes:

Madden NFL 21 (Xbox Series X|S & PS5)

Key Highlights:

  • New SpongeBob Yard Location
  • Second set of post-launch Franchise updates

Gameplay Updates:

  • Zone Coverage Improvements:
    • Tuning to Deep Zone defender logic to focus more on deep threats in their zone and less on shorter routes approaching their zones
    • Tuning to Deep Zone logic in Cover 1 to react quicker to Deep Over, Post, and any other deep crossing routes.
    • Updated the facing direction of Deep Zone players so they’ll face the ball rather than just the line of scrimmage, which will help Deep Zone defenders turn in the appropriate direction when covering deep routes.
    • Tuning to fakeout logic on Inside Release Post Routes (S-Posts). There was significant separation resulting from this release and cut when close to the line of scrimmage. This change prevents defenders getting faked out during this early segment of the route.
    • Added Gen 5-specific Change of Direction animations to locomotion which will improve a defender’s ability to transition from strafe to run quicker and smoother to help defenders get into position to play the ball quicker.
    • Tuning to improve ‘turn and run’ to better anticipate vertical speed threats
    • Tuning to allow faster top-end strafe speed for defenders in Deep Zone
    • Extended the distance that a Deep Third can look inside when anticipating Deep Crossing routes coming from the opposite side of the field.
    • Fixed an issue causing outside Deep Third defenders to leverage the No. 1 (Outside) Receiver too long even when the receiver was no longer a deep threat.
    • DEV NOTE: We’ve made significant tuning changes to zone coverage, specifically deep zones to better balance the deep passing game and increase anticipation of deep zone defenders. One thing to be aware of is that these changes only apply to defenders in zone coverage and will NOT impact ‘Match’ zone players after they have transitioned to man coverage on applicable match coverage plays. We will continue to monitor stats and feedback on both man and zone coverage towards future tuning updates and thank you to the Madden Community for the feedback on zone coverage.
  • General Gameplay Fixes: 
    • Kickoff Playclock Exploit – Fixed an issue allowing the kicking team to remain at the Play-call screen indefinitely without having to call a play. This has been used as an exploit to force the receiving team to quit in order to get out of the game. Now the playclock will run down as it should and force the kickoff to be called when it expires.
    • Fair Catch Exploit – Fixed an issue causing the ball carrier to enter a state where he couldn’t be tackled after fielding a kick or punt off the ground following a fair catch. With this fix, any player on the receiving team who recovers a kick or punt following a fair catch will be able to get tackled.

    • New Commish Controls
      • Draft Auto-Pilot: Assign auto-pilot during the draft.
      • House Rules: Dictate how many times a play can be called in a game, and how long a player must wait before calling the same play again.
      • Undo Free Agent Settings: undo FA signings in the offseason directly through the transaction log. Click on a signing and revert it to send the player back into the free agent pool.
      • Team Override Settings: Commissioners now have the ability to turn on/off or allow users to keep individual settings for Heat Seeker tackling, Ball Hawk, and Switch assist.

Priority Missions

Priority Missions have modifiers that will challenge even the toughest Super Hero. Your first weekly completion of these missions earns you unique gear you won’t find anywhere else.

Global Presence 

Minimum Power Level 25, +3 Power Level Offset

Modifiers:

  • Blizzard: Ice hazards are added to the environment. Cryo damage from enemies and the environment are increased
  • Famine: Enemies do not drop Regen Packs when defeated
  • Capacitor: Shock damage from players is increased

Guaranteed Reward: Epic Gear

Masks 

Minimum Power Level 120, +5 Power Level Offset

Modifiers:

  • Goliath: Significantly increased presence of Exos

MEGA HIVE

The Mega Hive is a single-player chain of eight missions that tests your team’s might. Each week, you’ll have a shot at completing the Mega Hive mission chain. When you defeat all eight missions, the Mega Hive mission chain is removed from the War Table until the next weekly refresh, when you can run it again with new modifiers.

This week’s modifiers include:

  • Pressure: No automatic recovery of Willpower when critically injured
  • Maelstrom: All heroics charge at a significantly increased rate. Entering critical health drains all Heroic energy
  • Oasis: Regen Packs have increased Willpower benefit
  • Goliath: Significantly increased presence of Exos

Weekly Rewards: As you progress through the Mega Hive, rewards start as basic gear, resources, and small amounts of cosmetic currency. The more missions you survive, the resource drops increase. As you near the final mission, you’ll see better gear and artifacts awarded more often, and increased chances for patterns/nameplates. When you complete all eight Mega Hive missions, you’ll be rewarded with exclusive goodies reserved for this gauntlet, including a significant amount of high-quality resources..

Modifiers are game changers! Check out some pro-tips from our team that will help you prepare for this week’s challenges!

  • Pressure:  Recovering Willpower by any means necessary is key when Pressure is active. Utilize Takedowns, regenerative nanite containers, and skills that boost the chance of enemies dropping Regen Packs to ensure that sustaining critical injuries isn’t always a recipe for a quick defeat.
  • Maelstrom: Keeping Willpower high and utilizing Heroics soon after they’re ready is key to maximizing the benefits of the Maelstrom modifier. Focusing on gear that boosts the Resolve or Valor stats is also an effective strategy.
  • Collider: Equip any gear that provides additional Particle damage or increases the rate at which the Particle status meter builds to really heat things up when Collider is active.

Ring in the new year with new styles! This week’s Marketplace spread features brand new Nameplates from Ms. Marvel, Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America. You can also find Legendary outfits like Widow’s “Infiltrator”, Hulk’s “Gladiator” and Captain America’s “Ultimate Patriot”.

The Marketplace is a place for us to feature purchasable cosmetics in the form of Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates. The Marketplace’s Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary items rotate weekly, and can be purchased with Credits.

Community Challenge

Team up with the global player base to meet mega-goals and unlock rewards.

Goal: Smash 55,000,000 Enemies via Melee

Reward: 500 Units

Black Ops Cold War January 7 Update Includes Playlist Changes & Fixes

Treyarch has rolled out the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War January 7 update today, as Thursday is the new playlist update day for the game starting this week according to the studio. For this week, aside from new playlist changes, the studio has also released a mid-season preview, as well as a slew of gameplay fixes.

For those curious, yes, today’s server-side title update includes damage changes to the DMR and other Black Ops Cold War weapons as mentioned previously.

Next week, Season One gets even bigger with new content in Multiplayer and Zombies! Get ready to drop into a massive new Fireteam map with your squad in Sanatorium, and fight for control of the nuclear codes in the all-new 6v6 MP mode, Dropkick.

In Zombies, we’re turning the intensity up to 11 in the new Cranked mode, where every zombie killed resets the timer counting down to your demise. And in Onslaught, Raid joins the map list along with new Dark Aether intel for Zombies fans on PlayStation. This mid-season update arrives Jan. 14th, with more Season One content to come.

Street Fighter Fan Animation Pays Tribute to Daigo Parry

One of the most iconic moments in fighting game history just got a pretty awesome fan made tribute, as French 2d animator sueng_cheng made a fan animated sequence of the infamous “Daigo Parry” — better known to the fighting game community as “Evo Moment #37”.

As shared by Twitter user Catsuka, here’s the pretty awesome clip made by Cheng featuring Ken Masters making an epic comeback against Chun-Li.

For those who don’t know about Evo Moment #37, it refers to the match between pro fighting game players Daigo Umehara and Justin Wong — when both competitors faced one another during the semi-finals of the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike portion of the Evolution Championship Series in 2004. Taking place in August 1 of that year in California, Daigo made an unexpected and epic comeback with his character Ken, as he was already on the ropes facing Justin’s Chun-Li with only one pixel of life left. As Justin set to deliver the finish with Chun-Li’s Super Art, Daigo retaliated back by parrying all 15 hits of the super without getting damage, and managed to score the win to the cheers and amusement of the crowd watching that day.

You have to see it to believe it for yourselves if you’ve never ever played a Street Fighter game, and this moment arguably inspired many others to play the game and follow in the footsteps of these pro players.

Monster Hunter Rise Limited-Time Demo Now Available to Play, Wyvern Riding and Hunting 101 Videos Released

Fans of Capcom’s immensely popular Monster Hunter franchise might want to get their Nintendo Switch consoles ready for download, as the publisher has announced that Monster Hunter Rise limited-time demo is now available at the Nintendo eShop for download, as well as releasing a couple of videos for the game — including the Wyvern Riding and some Hunting 101 videos following the Monster Hunter Digital Event live stream.

Here’s the details on the limited-time demo via Press Release from the Monster Hunter Rise team:

■ Limited-Time Demo

The demo has four quest types available: a Beginner Quest, an Intermediate Quest, a Basic Training Quest, and a Wyvern Riding Training Quest, which will help you get used to the new Wyvern Riding feature. Of course, all 14 weapon types are playable.

The Beginner Quest and Intermediate Quest can of course be played solo, but they are also available in local co-op and online co-op.

For this demo, you’ll get to explore the Shrine Ruins. This is a great locale for learning about the Wirebug and the new stat-boosting endemic life featured in this game.

The Beginner Quest features Great Izuchi, while the Intermediate Quest has you take on Mizutsune, which we revealed today. Of course, you’ll be able to take a Palamute and / or Palico with you, so you can experience riding a Canyne and receiving various kinds of support from your Buddies.

The Basic Training Quest will teach you how to use the Wirebug, and the Wyvern Riding Training Quest will let you try out the new Wyvern Riding feature. Wyvern Riding is a new system that allows you to control monsters for a while, by dealing enough damage through aerial attacks or Silkbind attacks using the Wirebug, or by using turf wars or endemic life to your advantage. While controlling wild monsters, you can move around and attack, and you can even slam them into walls, so this is definitely something you’ll want to check out.

Hitman 3 PSVR Trailer Shows Killing Up Close and Personal

If you ever wanted to step into the shoes of Agent 47 and see what he sees, then you’ll be able to do just that in Hitman 3! Today, IO Interactive has released the Hitman 3 PSVR “Sandbox VR” trailer that one mght expect, gives us a first-person view of the killings and yep, it looks more brutal this way.

In addition to the assassinations, check out how first-person gunfights will look in Hitman 3 using PSVR!

HITMAN 3 takes immersion to the next level with PSVR. HITMAN has always been about immersing yourself in a living, breathing world. A world filled to the brim with interesting characters, secrets, and opportunities. But you’ve never experienced it like this…

IO Interactive says that the entire game can be played in VR. Hopefully, it won’t cause any dizzy spells. If it doesn’t, this might be just how most people that have a VR unit will play Agent 47’s latest adventure.

Neverwinter New Expansion “Sharandar” Announced

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have today announced the Neverwinter next expansion called “Sharandar.” Launching this February 9 on PC, and on March 9 on consoles, this is the first of a three-episode module.

In Neverwinter: Sharandar, an unsettling darkness creeps across the Feywild and the age-old elven stronghold of Sharandar. Brutish creatures kill any foolish enough to enter the lands once held by Malabog the Fomorian King. Deep in the forest, rumors of an ancient fey being, together with scattered bands of Malabog’s minions, seek to conquer Sharandar and seize its arcane secrets.

The story of Neverwinter: Sharandar is experienced over three episodes. The first episode, The Iron Tooth launches February 9 on PC and March 9 on console. Adventurers are sent to the Ruins of Malabog to investigate the disappearance of an elven dignitary. This episode introduces new and returning players to the Feywild lands of Sharandar, in which they’ll find the New Sharandar social hub, the Ruins of Malabog Adventure Zone, and the Vault of Stars dungeon, along with epic rewards.

The next two episodes, Episode 2: The Soul Keeper and Episode 3: The Odious Court, continue the story of Neverwinter: Sharandar at a later date. Players have the chance to experience the transformation of Sharandar as they take on the sinister new threat revealed in the first episode and push back the darkness. More details, including features, for these episodes will be revealed soon.

King of Fighters 15 and Samurai Shodown Announcements Postponed by SNK

Fighting game fans and those who follow The King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown games are going to feel pretty disappointed, as SNK made the impromptu announcement that they are postponing their announcements for The King of Fighters 15 and Season Pass 3 of Samurai Shodown — rescheduling the reveals for an unspecified later date instead.

Here’s the unexpected tweet of the postponement from SNK themselves, who have also apologized to those looking forward to the news.

SNK previously promised that the start of 2021 would also see the full announcement of KOF 15 — which has only confirmed the return of three fighters — namely Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, and KOF 14 protagonist Shun’ei. No release date or gameplay trailer for the game has been revealed yet and it was expected that we would be seeing our first glimpse or tease of the new sequel. Samurai Showdown was also supposed to have more information revealed for Season Pass 3, however it looks like SNK fans will have to be a little bit more patient for that.

Outriders New Release Date Now Set for April, Demo Announced

Originally set to launch in Holiday 2020, before being pushed to a February 2021 release date, People Can Fly has today announced that looter shooter Outriders has been delayed yet again! The Outriders new release date is now set for April 1, 2021 (nope, not a joke), and that a demo will be available in February.

Happy New Year. We believe it’s important that players get to experience a new IP like Outriders before release, so that you can decide for yourselves whether the game is something you wish to pre-order, purchase or play.

For this reason we’re exicted to announce that on February 25, 2021 we will be publishing a free demo, giving everyone the chance to play the first few hours of the game with all four classes — in both single player and co-op — along with seamless migration of your character and progress to the full game.

Speaking of which, we have decided to move the release date of Outriders to April 1st 2021 (no joke!). We will spend this extra time fine tuning the game and focusing on delivering a fantastic play experience at launch.

Given how this is a looter shooter game with a lot of moving parts, People Can Fly should take all the time they need to release a proper title. I’d rather have that than have the game available early on but be riddled with bugs and issues.

While Mortal Kombat 11 in first-person looks rather gruesome and fun, I suspect it’s not very useful in actual matches and will give players a severe disadvantage against their foes. Then again, it is a mod, so it’s there just for fun and whatnot.

Report: PUBG 2.0 and PUBG Mobile 2.0 Is in Development

Are you a fan of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or more popularly known as PUBG? While the game is still getting a ton of love and support from the community and the developers, a new report has surfaced stating that PUBG 2.0 and PUBG Mobile 2.0 is in development, and that an announcement could very well be in the cards soon!

Twitter user and PUBG leaker PlayerIGN posted this bit of news alongside an article stating that the secret project being worked on last year by PUBG Corp. was indeed PUBG 2 or PUBG 2.0! Allegedly, this sequel will be for PC and consoles and will offer cross-platform play as well.

Of course, given we haven’t gotten an official announcement yet, take this one with a grain of salt. We’ve reached out to PUBG Corp. and will update the post if we get a statement back.

● Awakening and Succession for Nova, the true queen of thorns, have been released.

– Reach Lv.56 or higher and you can proceed with Awakening by accepting [Nova Awakening] Invitation from S from the Black Spirit’s main quest and completing the following series of quests. Also, you can choose Succession for your Nova by completing [Nova Succesion] King of the Dead that continues right after the Awakening quest.

● Added quest [Valencia] Dawn of a New Age where you can obtain a Pearl outfit (7 Days) for Nova.

We had introduced Capotia accessories in the past as a symbolic reward of your very first level-up. Since they used to be TRI accessories, them being a reward itself was seen as meaningful back then.However, we concluded, from our current as well as future point of view, that Capotia accessories would gradually become less attractive. We consequently added ingredients that could be used more broadly (for example, raising a second character) and an enhancement feature that could enhance the value of an accessory. We worked on this patch focusing on that these two updates would not immediately affect the market. So not every player might need Capotia accessories for now, but we hope their significance and usefulness to grow further on a long term basis.

● Fixed the issue where motions would sometimes be displayed abnormally when moving out of water.

● Fixed the issue where sometimes you could walk underwater.

● Fixed the issue where certain classes performed abnormal actions when Combat Assistance was turned on.

● Fixed the issue where the effect on the shoulders would remain when getting on a mount and the summons were removed.

● Winter Testudo – Changed the duration to 5 seconds.

● Reduced the cooldown from 3 minutes to 2 minutes.

● Winter Testudo – Fixed the issue where the skill would not activate for adventurers not participating in the Node/Conquest War.

● Winter Testudo – Fixed to not collide with the summoned guard.

● Winter Testudo – Fixed the issue where using the skill in a safe zone would push other characters back.

● Fixed the issue where Nova would not blink in the Customizing screen.

● SP will be recovered when successfully blocking an attack during Quoratum’s Protection.

● SP will be recovered on a successful Mauling Star hit.

● The last hit will be activated right after pressing RB/R1 while using Mauling Star.

● Mauling Star – Equal amount of damage will be inflicted to enemies within the hitting range regardless of the point hit by the Morning Star.

● Changed the critical hit rate of Mauling Star to be not applied to PvP environments.

● Damage of Command: Passed Pawn I – Absolute: Command: Passed Pawn has been changed as below:

– PvP damage has dropped by 33%

– Critical hit rate will not be applied to PvP environments.

● The description of Quoratum’s Protection in the skill guide has been changed to “Shield Block Stance” to be read more intuitively.

● Fixed the issue where facial expression would not be displayed when doing “Confident.”

● Fixed the issue where the number of hits for the 2nd hit was fixed to three when using Bitter Reign while mounted.

● Fixed the issue where the effect of Cold, Dark Star would be activated during the Chain Hit (1st hit) when using Bitter Reign while mounted

● Changed the condition for the actiavtion of “Hide Other Characters” when a world boss appears.

● Added a feature where you can select the entire part when dyeing a gear in the Dye window.

● Changed items to show applied desert buffs through marked icons in the Trade Item sells list.

● Awakening outfits for all released characters can be obtained from Premium Outfit Box.

Monster

● Increased the benefits gained from defeating furious monsters at night.

– Now defeating monsters at night will grant an Item Drop Rate +10% buff.

Most of the monsters become more ferocious at night in Black Desert. It might be tough for nighttime hunters looting items, but it becomes rather a good time for those who seek to level up fast as the monsters give you more EXP.

Therefore, to make nights a happy hunting time for all Adventurers, we have prepared a special item buff for you. Can’t wait to go night-hunting!

● The Guild Boss Giant Mudster has amassed powerful energies from the soil of Glish Ruins.

– As Giant Mudster’s body begins to crumble from taking damage, it will let out a large cry, calling forth Mudsters.

– The Giant Mudster will try to absorb these Mudsters into its own body, which will restore the destroyed portions and restore its health in the process.

– You must defeat the Mudsters before they reach the Giant Mudster to prevent Giant Mudster from restoring its health.

– As the Guild Boss Giant Mudster has grown much stronger, the chance to loot Stone of Malice has greatly increased, along with other junk loot drops.

● The Guild Boss Ancient Puturum’s power source has reached its limit and made its attacks more dangerous than before.

– Once Ancient Puturm gathers a portion of its energy, it will begin summoning power towers to draw from them and deal a devastating attack.

– You must defeat the power towers within 1 minute to prevent Ancient Puturum from unleashing his devastating attack. Also, power towers will inflict explosive damage when destroyed.

– Defeating all the summoned towers within 1 minute will cause Ancient Puturum to lose power and land. It will remain immobile for a short period of time.

– Improved the loot dropped by Guild Boss Ancient Puturum.

● Fixed the issue with the landing animation of Ancient Puturum spawned from Dark Rifts after certain attacks.

COD Warzone Black Ops Cold War Weapons DMR 14, Mac 10 & More Changes Incoming

In case you didn’t know, the weapons available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are available in Activision’s mega successful free-to-play battle royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone. If you’re one of the many people annoyed at just how powerful the Black Ops Cold War weapons are in Warzone, rejoice! Nerfs are incoming!

This was confirmed today by Raven Software, who announced that the DRM 14, Type 63, the Mac 10 SMG and the dual pistols are getting balance updates exclusively for Warzone!

Don’t fret! We’ve heard you and a balance update is coming soon to address concerns about the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10, and dual pistols.

To clarify, these changes will be exclusive to #Warzone.

Given how overpowered the tactical rifles are (Type 63, etc.) in Warzone currently, these changes can’t come soon enough! Hopefully, more tweaks and balance passes are made to the current and upcoming Black Ops Cold War weapons that are integrated into Warzone.
