Mortal Kombat Movie Reboot Pushed Back Indefinitely Until Theaters Reopen

Fans of the Mortal Kombat franchise who were really looking forward to seeing the reboot early next year may have to wait longer than anticipated, as one of the producers of the Mortal Kombat movie reboot has stated that the film has been pushed back indefinitely due to the ongoing global pandemic that everyone faces.

Responding to one of his followers on Twitter, producer Todd Garner confirmed that there is no new release date set for the movie.

https://twitter.com/Todd_Garner/status/1326223905393012736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1326223905393012736%7Ctwgr%5Eshare_3&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.superherohype.com%2Fmovies%2F489079-mortal-kombat-producer-says-the-reboot-film-has-been-pushed-back

Based on the popular fighting game franchise of the same name created by Ed Boon and John Tobias, the new Mortal Kombat film will reboot the saga on film following the critical and commercial failure of 1997’s Mortal Kombat Annihilation. Directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan and Todd Garner, the film will star the likes of Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, and Chin Han as Shang Tsung. Originally scheduled for a January 15, 2021 release, the new MK movie has been pushed back indefinitely to accommodate reshoots and wait until theaters properly reopen due to the pandemic.

AEW Wrestling Game by “No Mercy” Director Gets First Teaser Trailer

If you’ve been gaming as far back as the Nintendo 64 days and liked wrestling or fighting games, chances are high that you’ve played (and loved) the wrestling games made by AKI (WWF Wrestlemania 2000, WWF No Mercy). If so, you’ll probably want to check out this AEW wrestling game teaser trailer as it’s being helmed by none other than No Mercy game director Hideyuki Iwashita!

As the video implies, the game is still in early stages of development, and as such, the gameplay shown isn’t the final product or representative of it just yet.

The upcoming AEW wrestling game is being developed for consoles (though it’s not specified we’re assuming it’ll be PS4, Xbox One and their next-gen counterparts), and is being developed by Yukes (former devs behind the WWE 2K franchise). It is, of course, based on the AEW (All Elite Wrestling) license, which is a new wrestling promotiong founded in 2019.

If this can somehow recapture the magic of the old AKI wrestling games, then I’m so there! While the wrestling games made by AKI then didn’t look realistic, it played so well that No Mercy is usually part of the converstation when it comes to best wrestling game of all-time.

No release date has been tagged for this yet, but you can be sure we’re keeping our eyes closed to it. You can check out the AEW Games official Twitter to know more.

EA Madden 21 Update 1.17 November 12 Adds New Features & More

While football fans got a minor patch for EA Madden 21 earlier this week, EA Vancouver has released the EA Madden 21 update 1.17 November 12 patch, and this adds new features and more! There are Franchise and gameplay updates, which are listed below.

EA Madden 21 Update 1.17 November 12 Patch Notes:

Key Highlights:

  • Franchise Updates:
    • Dev Trait Regressions
    • X-Factor Customization
    • Playoff Bracket
    • Career Stats
    • Retirement Improvements
  • New Feature: Yard Play-A-Friend
  • SSKO & Franchise stability improvements and bug fixes

Gameplay Updates:

  • Fixed an issue allowing offensive users to breakout of the handoff on Gun Flex Y Off Mtn Counter and run with the QB, making the play appear to be a version of QB Draw
  • Fixed an issue causing awkward ball warping on some on HB Toss plays
  • Fixed all distance-related abilities to take pass-leading into account as a triggering condition
    • DEV NOTE: Route Abilities were not giving catching benefits due to the pass leading of the Quarterback. E.G. A receiver with Short Out Elite would not receive any benefit if the receiver was inside the numbers when the pass started even if the pass lead caused the receiver to catch the ball short, outside of the numbers. Any time a ball is led to the area on the field that the Ability is designated for the receiver will get all the Ability catching benefits.
  • Fixed a playbook issue on a specific Jet Sweep PA play causing a blocker to miss a rushing defender
  • Fixed an issue where motioning an outside receiver would cause inappropriate defender coverage swapping vs. specific coverages
  • Added functionality for user-controlled defenders to successfully Hit Stick the ball carrier immediately following a Block-Shed
  • Tuning to reduce reaction-time penalty for Linebackers with the LB Style Trait set to ‘Cover;’ this tuning should make coverage LB’s react quicker in reading running plays and moving towards their run fits

Playbook Updates:

  • Blocking improvements:
    • Made several adjustments to improve blocking on plays like Inside Zone Split, RPO Read WR Screen, PA Jet Sweep, and RPO Peek
    • Improved Left Tackle blocking on Pass plays in certain formations to address an issue where the blocker would miss an Edge Pass Rusher
  • Updated Out Routes in compression formations and the Tight End’s route in RPO Y Peek so the releases are cleaner and the routes are more effective
  • Addressed issues where the Halfback and Tight End would sometimes run into each other on plays like Zone Split Lead, Alert X Smoke, and RPO Alert Jailbreak Screen
  • Alignment improvements:
    • Strong Safety in Cover 3 is in better position to play outside runs vs Wing formations
    • Adjusted Wide Receiver splits in Spread formations to improve spacing and timing
  • Updated the Halfback’s run hole on 0 1 Trap plays which gives the Halfback more space away from the Defensive Lineman who’s being trapped

Franchise Updates:

  •  Face of the Franchise Updates:
    • General stability improvements
    • Fixed an issue with several abilities not unlocking or equippable when they should be
    • Fixed an issue in the WR Drills causing users to sometimes fail the drill even after making the appropriate catch
  • Franchise Updates:
    • The first set of Franchise updates announced post-launch have arrived, check out the Madden NFL 21 Gridiron Notes for more info on the following changes:
      • Dev Trait Regressions: Star, Superstar, and Superstar X-Factors will now have desired counts that are treated as the “correct” amount of each Dev Trait in your Franchise. Eligible players will be regressed in priority order until the target is met. These targets can be changed via Commissioner settings.
      • X-Factor Customization: We brought over our functionality from player mode that allows the player to alter the Superstar and Superstar X-Factor abilities on their players inside of Core Franchise as both a coach and an owner.
      • Playoff Bracket: Starting Week 13 of the regular season, there will be a Things To Do item that takes you to the current playoff picture if the season ended that week including the seeding for each team that would be in the playoffs. Once Wild Card week begins, the playoff bracket will also have the scores of all games that have been played, and the box score available by clicking on the matchup. There will also be a way to access this bracket through the “schedule” button, with a new tile labeled “Playoff Picture”.
      • Career Stats: One of the top community requests for several years now, we added the week matchup and result of the game to each player’s season stats via their player card. We also added what team a player finished their season with on each year of their career stats via their player card.
      • Retirement Improvements: In Re-Sign Players week, there will now be a Things To Do item that takes you directly to the Transactions screen sorted to Retired players to provide a quicker look into who is riding off into the sunset.
    • General stability improvements
    • Fixed an issue where the user was sent back to the Things to Do tab when exiting out of a screen even if they were on a different tab

The Yard Updates:

  • New Feature: Yard Play-A-Friend.
By popular demand, you can now play against your friends in The Yard.

    How it works:
    0) Select the Play-A-Friend tile in The Yard hub.
    1) Pick a venue and party size and build out your party as you normally would.
    2) Make sure to tell your friend’s team what venue and party size they should select.
    3) At the prompt, both party leaders set the same matchmaking password. This can be anything you want, just make sure you both enter it exactly the same.
    4) … (Magic of the internet happens here)
    5) Play against your friend and make sure they know you are better than them.

NOTE: You won’t earn progression from Play-A-Friend games.

Superstar KO Updates:

  •  Stability and UI improvements for Superstar KO Endless Run.

Presentation Updates:

  • Added functionality for users to toggle the Passing and Kicking Feedback Text on/off via the ‘Visual Feedback’ setting in the settings menu

That’s it. Once we get wind of another patch, we’ll let our readers know.

Watch Dogs Legion Update 1.06 November 12 Sneaks Out

While hackers just got a rather meaty patch for Watch Dogs Legion last week, Ubisoft has released the Watch Dogs Legion update 1.06 November 12 patch for consoles and it’s live now! This is the TU2.10 (Title Update 2.10) patch, and it’s released for bug fixes.

Watch Dogs Legion Update 1.06 November 12 Patch Notes:

DedSec, we’re deploying a patch for Xbox One tomorrow, and for PlayStation 4 later in the week. For Xbox One, we’re taking an incremental approach to deploying stability fixes. As the first step, this patch will improve game stability and address many of the crashes experienced by our players on the platform. We thank you for your patience, and will continue to monitor your feedback as we work to bring a better gaming experience for everyone.

Xbox One

  • Resource optimization improvements for User Interface, Textures and AI that decrease crashes occurring during gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the game to crash when exiting to main menu.
  • General stability improvements for the in-game areas “Carousel Plaza”, “Slaughterhouse” and “Tower of London”.

Global

  • Fixed an issue that caused “Doomed” Operatives to immediately meet their doom after recruitment. What do we say to the god of death?
  • Fixed an issue that caused highly reflective clothes to appear as black in the Team App.

That’s basically it. This patch is now live for both PS4 and Xbox One. If you spot any gameplay-related changes, let us know down below.

If you haven’t picked the game up, go check out our review to see if it’s worth getting.

Watch Dogs Legion Review: Half-Full Promises

When I saw Watch Dogs Legion’s reveal at E3 2019, to say I was excited would be an understatement. The promise of being able to play as any NPC was so wild and new, that my mind raced with possibilities. Having now finished the campaign I can say that while you can technically play as any NPC, you’re most likely not going to want to. And in this regard, Watch Dogs Legion is a bit of a disappointment. Read on for our full Watch Dogs Legion review.

London Dedsec Calling

Set in a dystopian London, Watch Dogs Legion once again finds Dedsec using technology to battle oppressive tech villains in a battle for the people of a city. Whereas in the first two Watch Dogs, Dedsec enlisted the help of a single main protagonist, in Legion they need you to enlist everyone you can to battle London’s oppressors and take back London for the people. In all honesty, the story does have some fun twists and turns, it doesn’t really do anything all that fresh with the concept or the story. It tread well worn tropes of techno-terrorist plots from other areas of fiction so for me, there wasn’t much to get invested in as far as the story goes. Which doesn’t really bother me much because with rare exception, I find most stories in games to be weak regardless. As long as a game is fun to play, then I’m happy. It also doesn’t help that the game tells you London is under an oppressive regime but when I can hack anyone, steal any car, get on a massive hovering drone and fly over the city, I didn’t really feel all that oppressed.

Fortunately for most of my playthrough, Watch Dogs Legion is genuinely fun to play. Hacking around an enemy facility to set traps, hack terminals, take out high valued targets, its as fun as its ever been in the series. Doing so without ever getting spotted is even better. The game offers quite a bit of variety in this area so if you like the Watch Dogs gameplay loop, you’ll be plenty entertained.

The main objective is to make each area of London “defiant” (think liberated) by doing all of the side activities in the area. Once you’ve cleared the area you’ll be rewarded with a Special Operative who will have a special set of perks and weapons for you to use when playing as that NPC. Such as spies having a watch that jams the weapon of every enemy in range, a pistol with a sound suppressor, and a James Bond-like car that shoots missiles and can cloak. I also had a beekeeper that could attack enemies with a swarm of bees.

When not looking dead in the face of the characters, Watch Dogs Legion is a gorgeous game, even on a slim PS4. It’s vibrant, full of life, and feels like a real world place. I actually feel like I know parts of London now having spent so much time in the game.

Not the NPC You’re Looking For

Making matters easier or harder for you is the ability to play as any NPC, the main selling point of Watch Dogs Legion. And again, this is true. If you want to play as the street musician you find at the subway, you can play as them, with a few caveats. First you need to do a side mission for them to make them join Dedsec. These are generally pretty varied insofar as I saw in my playthrough (more on that in a bit). It could be as simple as hacking a terminal to have your record expunged from the authority’s server, or stealing a drugs shipment and delivering it safely to a disclosed location. One of these missions had me getting swarmed by Albion (the authoritative “police” presence of Watch Dogs Legion) and drones while you download something from the van you just stole. It can get pretty crazy (I lost one of my agents due to playing on Permadeath) and you won’t really know what you’re going to deal with so it keeps you on your toes at all times. Once you’ve completed their mission they are added to your roster for you to use.

The other, and most important caveat, is that outside of Special Operatives, most of the NPCs are useless. They might have one or two perks, some active for that NPC, others passive that carry over to whomever you’re playing as such as having an NPC in your operatives pool will get you a currency (ETO) bonus for every hacked ETO cache/ATM, etc. Some will get you shorter jail time. Cool, except not once was I ever arrested. Others have an immunity to gas grenades (running away from the gas is just as effective). And for giggles, some have a death wish and will die randomly. Sure that’s amusing, but hardly useful. You can occasionally find Special Operatives in the world (usually at one or two spots where their kind frequent) which I used many times after losing four spies to Permadeath.

A missed opportunity was making the NPCs customizable beyond their clothing (which is oddly the only thing you can spend ETO on) to really make you care about them. They became fodder. If any of the useful Operatives died I would just find another one in the world, do their mission, and continue on. However, after a while I just stopped trying. I had three or four I used for any given mission type and that was about it. If they would have made it so you can truly change their look and equip them with special weapons it would have gone a long way to making things like Permadeath matter.

It’s also worth noting that the game crashed on my new PS4 (my launch PS4 died so I bought a slim to tied me over till PS5 arrives) a whopping nine times. I also experienced vanishing NPCs and enemies (and no they weren’t cloaked), times where I was able to hack any cameras, and other wonky bugs. It’s clear this game needed either more polish or should have just been a next-gen title.

Next-Gen Ambition, Current-Gen Shackles

I know I sound hard on Watch Dogs Legion but I do want to be clear that actually playing the game and not worrying about the recruitment aspect or the story, I had a lot of fun. And I’m really looking forward to diving back in on PS5 to finish the collectables, side missions and get the platinum. If anything, I feel that Watch Dogs Legion was a generation too early. Maybe with a sequel (if it gets one) Ubisoft can use the power of the SSD to really make the NPCs and your attachment to them meaningful. As for right now, the promise was only partially kept.

SCORE 7/10

Pros:

  • Hacking Watch Dogs style is still as fun as ever
  • Shooting and combat feel good
  • Permadeath
  • London is beautifully realized
  • Special Operatives offer fun, unique perks and weapons to use
  • You can actually play as any NPCs

Cons:

  • Most NPCs turn out to be pretty useless
  • Lack of customization for your Operatives outside of clothing leaves little to get attached to
  • The story is rote and full of techo-terrorist story tropes
  • Buggy

Watch Dogs Legion review code not provided by the publisher. Game tested on the PS4 with all images captures via PS Share feature. You can read SP1st and MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

Activision Account 2FA Feature Now Implemented

With last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision rolled out an all-in-one Activision account that players can use whcih was benefical for crossplay. It made it easier to add friends, see who’s online playing Modern Warfare and/or Warzone and the like. Given how rampant account stealing is nowadays, the company has wisely rolled out the Activision account 2FA (two-factor authentication)!

For those not familiar with 2FA, it secures accounts tied to it, as it’ll send a text message with a PIN code in order for the user to login. This means that even if someone somehow guesses your password, they still won’t be able to log in to your account unless they have access to your mobile phone too.

Activision Account 2FA Link

Note that while you might see that it Google authentication app, you don’t need to use it and you can use authy instead. Instructions on that per Reddit:

Go authy and click “add account” then go enable 2FA and copy the token and paste it somewhere in like a doc or in a private channel on discord and then click enter code manually and then paste the token in and it should bring up a logo chooser enter “Activision” and the ATVI logo will show up and from there enter the code that authy gives you.

If I were you, I’d activate this ASAP since you’ll be using it for Warzone and for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War if you’re getting it. Speaking of Black Ops Cold War, it’s launching tomorrow, and we have the goods! Check out the links below for the latest info.

Black Ops Cold War Network Ping Details Confirmed in Latest FAQ

While Treyarch just revealed the huge list of changes the studio is doing based on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta feedback, the studio has now confirmed that console players will now have access to Black Ops Cold War network ping details!

This has been confirmed in the latest FAQ published by the studio, which you can read in full below. It talks about the new scorestreak system, Prestige and more.

Q: Will movement/spawns/sniping/etc. continue to be tuned after launch as needed?

A: Absolutely. Just as we’ve gathered data and feedback from the Alpha and Beta to help inform further changes to movement, map spawns, weapon tuning, player visibility, Scorestreaks, and so on, we’ll continue to gather data after launch and beyond to continue to provide the best experience for all players.

Q: Are more free maps coming after launch?

A: Yes! We have a massive lineup of post-launch content planned, starting with Nuketown ’84 on Nov. 24th and more new maps arriving with Season One, which kicks off on December 10th. Watch for more info on everything in store for Season One as we get closer to December.

Q: How will Black Ops Cold War integrate with Warzone at launch and in Season One?

A: At launch, you’ll be able to jump into Warzone from the front-end menu in Black Ops Cold War and use any of the Operators you’ve unlocked from Black Ops Cold War in Verdansk, including any earnable and unlockable skins.

Starting in Season One in December, weapons from Black Ops Cold War will be accessible in Warzone, as well as the new Seasonal Prestige progression system, allowing players to level up and earn progress toward Prestige Levels across both games. We’re also bringing a classified Warzone experience to Verdansk starting in Season One, along with some other surprises… and that’s just the beginning.

Learn more about the evolution of Warzone in December with Season One of Black Ops Cold War at the Call of Duty blog.

Q: When can I pre-load the game if I’ve pre-ordered digitally?

A: Depending on your preferred platform, you may already be able to pre-load the game! Dates and timing below:

  • PlayStation 4: Nov. 5th at 9PM PT
  • Xbox One: Nov. 5th at 9PM PT
  • PC: Nov. 10th at 10AM PT
  • Next-Gen Consoles: Available on their respective launch dates (Nov. 10th for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, Nov. 12th for PlayStation 5).

Q: How will enforcement against potential cheating be handled?

A: We have a zero-tolerance policy for cheating, and action is always being taken behind the scenes to crack down on this behavior. As always, please report suspected cheaters using the in-game reporting tools.

You can report players by going to “Player Details” on a player’s name at the Scoreboard, or from After Action Report > Social > Recent Players. These reports go to dedicated security teams that monitor and investigate potential infractions 24/7.

Q: Will we be able to see our network ping details in Settings?

A: Yes. Average latency will be displayed under the Account & Network section, as well as graphs for packet loss and server latency.

Q: What’s the design philosophy behind the revamped Scorestreak system?

A: We’ve reworked the Scorestreak system to incentivize a greater range of play styles in Black Ops Cold War. This means players will keep their score after death, and the earn rates on Scorestreaks have been tuned using data from the Alpha and Beta to maximize fun and minimize Scorestreak spam.

As you’ve seen above, we’ve recently adjusted Scorestreak costs, earn rates, and streak bonuses to ensure that players are rewarded for both playing the objective and racking up multiple kills in the same life. Cooldown rates have also been tweaked to further balance the system and keep spamming to a minimum. Of course, we’ll continue to tune the system for best possible experience post-launch.

Q: Can we start earning Prestige Levels at launch?

A: Yes. You’ll be able to level up through Military Ranks 1-55 at launch, then earn up to 3 Prestiges by reaching Season Level 100 during the Pre-Season period between launch and the start of Season One. Get all the details on the new Prestige system at our Player Progression blog.

Q: Will the main Easter Egg quest be enabled in Zombies at the same time for all regions?

A: Yes, we’re aiming to enable the main quest and several side quests simultaneously on November 13th, so everyone can start the hunt on equal footing. Follow us at @Treyarch on Twitter for details on exact timing as we get closer to launch.

Q: Will Weapon Inspect be supported in Zombies?

A: Yes, Weapon Inspect is a feature in both Multiplayer and Zombies.

Q: Will we be able to use the new Ping feature in Zombies?

A: Yes! For the first time in Black Ops Zombies, we will support Ping as a feature across Zombies. Check out our Zombies Gameplay Guide at the blog for more details on all of the new systems and improvements coming to Zombies.

Q: Is the Zombies HUD customizable?

A: Yes! You’ll be able to toggle several HUD visuals on and off in Settings, including zombie health bars, enemy names, hit marker visuals, crosshair visuals, floating damage numbers, friendly player names, and more.

Q: Will we be able to unlock Zombies Prestige Icons at the Prestige Shop starting in Season One?

A: Yes, you’ll be able to unlock Legacy Prestige Icons from previous games – including icons from Zombies and even Blackout – once you unlock the Prestige Shop after you earn your first Prestige Key starting in Season One. Learn more about Prestige Keys and the Prestige Shop here.

Q: Is there a physical Collector’s Edition of the game?

A: The Ultimate Edition is the premium edition available for Black Ops Cold War, which you can pre-order here.

Don’t forget to check out the complete list of weapons, perks and scorestreaks available at launch, too!

The Division 2 Title Update 12 New Weapons & Gear Revealed

Following last week’s The Division 2 Title Update 12 overview, Ubisoft has now given agents a look at The Division 2 Title Update 12 new weapons and gear from this week’s State of the Game devstream!

Check out the new upcoming Exotics, new items an more!

The Division 2 Title Update 12 New Weapons & Gear:

Theme

  • The new equipment that is added with TU12 revolves around skill builds and how they work in the game.
  • Since Skill users have low health and weapon damage, they mostly rely on Turrets or Seeker Mines to do the damage for them.
  • The goal was to enable skill users to join the fight because when you use your weapon on the enemy it also buffs your skills and Skill Tiers can also buff the weapons in some cases.

Exotics

Exotic – Capacitor Assault – Rifle

  • The talent is basically a skill-based version of the Striker Gear Set
  • Every time you shoot an enemy it adds 1% of Skill Damage
  • After a delay of 5 seconds, the stacks start to decay 1 stack per 1 second.
  • Skill Tiers will add additional weapon damage to this AR

You can get this Exotic as a guaranteed reward the first time you complete 5 Challenges in a Summit run.

Once you have acquired the Capacitor it joins the general AR loot pool.

Exotic – Scorpio – Shotgun

  • Fast firing shotgun
  • Shooting a target applies debuffs to targets:
    • 1 – Poison
    • 3 – Disorient
    • 6 – Shock
    • 7 – Target takes additional 20% damage (from all sources) max stack
  • Multiple players can combine the Scorpio Stacks
  • The stacks count per shot and not per pellet.
  • In PVP the debuffs are different:
    • 1 – Bleed
    • 3 – Disrupt
    • 6 – Ensnare

This is a Season 4 Reward

Exotic – Waveform – Holster

  • Generates a stack of 3% skill damage on one of your skills every second.
  • After 10 seconds it has the max stack of 10 and the buff transfers to your other skill.
  • After further 10 seconds the buff switches back to the first one – and so on.

This is a Season 4 Reward

Named Items

Scalpel – Marksman Rifle

Test Subject – Assault Rifle

Battery Pack – Backpack

Caesar’s Guard – Chest

Brand

Empress International

Gear Set

Rigger

  • Every time you interact with your skill you get 25% Skill damage for 10 seconds
  • Interacting is:
    • Using / Deploying the Skill
    • Changing the Skills target
    • Healing the Skill (you can heal your deployed skills)
    • Firing Turrets counts as an interaction

Vanity Set

This set will be available on the Season 4 Reward Track:

Skill Variant

Achilles Pulse

  • It is a single target pulse
  • Highlights weakpoints on a target (amount is based on Skill Tiers 1 => 1 / 6 => 3)
  • Shooting marked weakpoints, will apply headshot damage as bonus damage
  • This applies to all players.
  • The highlighting is based on a damage threshold, once that is reached, the highlighting will fade away.

Title Update 12 is hitting the PTS, so agents shouldn’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the new patch and items.

    • Sniper Rifles
      • Adjusted aim assist to feel smoother yet require more skill and precision.
      • Slightly increased sniper rifle ADS times.
      • Sniper scope glint will now display more regularly.

  • Recoil and Sight Alignment

      • In the Beta, the location of the player’s bullet was always based on the direction of their weapon, which could have a slight deviation to their eye-view perspective through the sights. These should now line up better across all iron sights and optics, providing more precision when ADS-firing.
  • Aim Assist Tuning
    • Adjusted a number of aim assist parameters to provide a more expected feel across weapon classes.
  • Aiming Down Sights (ADS)
    • Adjusted ADS transitions to make them smoother and more fluid.

      • Added more attachments to equip in the Gunsmith.
    • Attachment Balance
      • Updated balance for roughly half of the attachments across all weapons to increase viability across the board.
      • Reworked bonuses and penalties on Barrel attachments to better reflect relationship between ranges, muzzle velocities, and barrel length.
      • There are now Barrel attachments that offer shorter Barrel length for increased strafe speed movement, either when hip-firing or ADS-firing. This provides players with greater options for leaning into movement as a kit option.
      • Increased enemy reveal range when using the mounted light attachment.
    • Attachment Descriptions
      • Updated names, descriptions, and statistics categories for weapons to provide a clearer picture of functionality and authenticity.
  • Dual Wield
    • Added the ability to dual-wield pistols.
  • Weapon Levels
    • Increased primary weapon levels from 40 to 55.
  • Stationary Turrets
    • Increased use radius of stationary turrets.

Movement

  • Sliding
    • Shortened slide length.
    • Reduced slide speed.
      • Sliding is intended as an escape mechanic or quick entrance into crouch or cover. It’s not intended to be over-used during engagements, or to be too advantageous in close quarters. We’ve shortened the slide length and reduced its speed to address these goals.
    • Ending a sprint to fire is now faster than sliding to fire.
      • In the Beta, it was faster to fire your weapon from a sprint by sliding than by simply ending your sprint to fire. This has been fixed so that ending a sprint to fire is the faster way to get your gun up, and sliding to fire is no longer faster.
  • Mantling
    • Increased speeds for all mantles.

Scorestreaks

  • Additional Scorestreaks
    • Added new Scorestreaks since Beta:
      • Combat Bow
      • Armor
      • Care Package
      • Cruise Missile
      • VTOL Escort
      • Gunship
  • Earn Rate
    • Improved score event tuning and Scorestreak earn potential across all modes.
    • Increased score bonus thresholds at 10-kill and 15-kill streaks to make high streaks feel more rewarding, and to help boost score to higher-end Scorestreaks.
      • In the Beta, Scorestreaks were being earned more often than intended in several game modes, so we’ve made tuning adjustments to bring the overall earn rate down. On the other hand, because even top players were having a hard time getting to the highest Scorestreaks, we’ve increased the score bonus thresholds for higher kill streaks.
  • Scorestreak Tuning
    • Attack Helicopter
      • Increased Attack Helicopter damage from 5-hit kill to 3-hit kill.
    • Chopper Gunner
      • Slightly reduced Chopper Gunner duration and damage.
  • Costs
    • Balance adjustment to all Scorestreak costs.
  • UI
    • Added a numerical display showing remaining score required to earn your equipped Scorestreaks, which appears briefly on respawn and after closing the Scoreboard.
    • Improved Scorestreak tablet cursor speed.
    • Improved visibility of Scorestreak tablet red dots for indoor enemies.
  • Cooldowns
    • Added variation to Scorestreak cooldowns to allow for more interesting player choices and strategy, while also reducing low-end Scorestreak spam.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Updated default Scorestreak selection.
    • Updated Scorestreak descriptions with more detail on new functionality.
    • Improved rumble/camera shake on Scorestreak events.

Spawns

  • General spawn adjustments across all modes.
  • Enemies in Gunboats will now properly cancel spawns within their line of sight.

Perks

  • Flak Jacket
    • Flak Jacket damage reduction reduced by 5%.
  • Paranoia
    • Updated the sound for when an enemy is aiming at you with Paranoia equipped.

Equipment

  • Frag
    • Improved Frag throwback speed.
  • Stim Shot
    • Cooldown increased from 8 seconds to 11 seconds.
  • Decoy
    • Duration reduced from 20 seconds to 15 seconds.
    • Decoy will now play a static sound effect every few seconds, so attentive players can discern fake footsteps from real ones.

Field Upgrades

  • Field Mic
    • Field Mic listening radius reduced by 10%.
    • Field Mic cooldown increased to from 3:00 to 3:30.

Features

  • Added Military Ranks up to 55 in standard player progression.
  • Added Seasonal Prestige player progression system, beginning at launch after completing Military Rank 55.
  • Added Challenges for Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.
  • Added unlockable Weapon Camos.
  • Player and weapon customization now available.
  • Added Combat Record.
  • Added Theater support.
  • Added Multiplayer bot support.
  • Added Finishing Move support.
  • Added Weapon Inspect support.

AUDIO

Game Audio

  • General
    • Polished volumes and sound falloffs for weapons, foley audio, ambient systems, and map transitions.
    • Additional map sound design improvements.
  • Gameplay Audio
    • Improved weapon and footstep sounds.
    • Improved hit marker sounds.
    • Improved player damage feedback sounds.
  • Acoustics
    • Polished acoustics systems that simulate how sounds travel through/around geometry.
      • Since the Beta, we’ve created new reverbs for multiple areas, polished filter values so full occlusion now sounds more natural, and tweaked the way interior and exterior sounds blend as you move through spaces.
    • Tuned acoustics of every map.
      • This affects how the map geometry influences every sound, from reverb (how sounds bounce and echo) to occlusion (how objects block sound waves). Map acoustics are based on physical simulations of sound waves travelling through the map. As a result, all sounds should feel even more immersive and realistic, with a high level of fidelity.
  • Music Player
    • Added Music Player, allowing players to listen to music tracks unlocked by playing the game.
    • Players can select tracks as their menu music or in-game music.
  • Audio Presets
    • Added multiple audio mix presets.

So far, so good, the changes listed seem for the better. Of course, we’ll continually be getting patches throughout the game’s lifecycle, so nothing here is set in stone.

DOOM Eternal Update 1.10 November 11 Fires Out

The folks at id Software has just released the DOOM Eternal update 1.10 November 11 patch! Given we just got The Ancient Gods Part 1 expansion a few weeks ago, don’t expect any major new content in this patch. Check out the known details for it below.

DOOM Eternal Update 1.10 November 11 Patch Notes:

Ufortunately, Bethesda has not released any patch notes for the game yet, or even acknowledged it. There is  a chance (though slim) that this is the next-gen update patch for the game, though Bethesda did say that won’t be available on Day 1 of the next-gen consoles.

Will the upgrade be available on day 1 of console release?

No, the upgraded next gen versions of DOOM Eternal will not be available day 1. However, DOOM Eternal will still be playable on Xbox Series X/Series S and PlayStation 5 with backwards compatibility.

When we know the timing for the availability of the upgrade, we will let everyone know.

Once we know more details regarding the patch or if Bethesda releases the official notes, we’ll update the post. If you spot any gameplay or technical fixes, let us know what you notice down in the comments below. We’re hoping the community can shed some light on this soon, too.
