Battlefield V Battle Royale Assignment Rolled Out Even If the Mode Isn’t Out Yet

Looking forward to Battlefield V’s battle royale mode called Firestorm? While DICE hasn’t announced when we’ll get it, it seems an Assignment for the mode is already present. One of the Assignments for today’s Daily Orders include one for the mode, which isn’t out yet.

Check out the screenshot of the game’s start screen to see some of the Daily Orders, which includes a Battlefield 5 battle royale mode Assignment!

As you can see, one of the Battlefield 5 battle royale Assignments is to “Play Firestorm” and score 500 points in the mode. Yep, that’s going to be hard given it’s not available yet. Does this mean we’ll be getting the mode soon? Given how DICE has planned its release in March, I suspect we will.

Multiple posts on the Battlefield V subreddit have surfaced poking fun at the unattainable Assignment, which is understandable.

What’s weird here is, publisher EA already has a battle royale game that’s a certified hit with Apex Legends. Will this affect Firestorm in some shape or form? I gather it will.

In other Battlefield V news, go check out the changes included in the patch released earlier today.

Once DICE announces the official release date for Firestorm, we’ll be sure to let our readers know ASAP.

PS Plus Free Games March 2019 Download Links Are Up for US and EU

This month’s PlayStation Plus games can now be downloaded for both EU and US! In case you didn’t know, this month’s PS Plus free games include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which some might argue as the best online multiplayer first-person shooter of all time!

Here are the PS Plus free games March 2019 download links for your convenience along with file sizes, and more.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered – 39.2GB

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Activision’s colossal Call of Duty series is truly part of the fabric of modern gaming, and it was in 2007 that developer Infinity Ward took the console world by storm with its contemporary spin on the popular action series it helped create. 2016’s Modern Warfare Remastered brought the classic back in full HD for a new generation of gamers, while respectfully retaining its first-class gunplay and brilliant level design.

Download it with PS Plus this month to relive a true FPS classic (in glorious dynamic 4K on PS4 Pro when played on a PS4 Pro system and a 4K display).

The Witness – 3.75GB

The Witness

From the developer of the charming puzzle-platformer Braid back in 2008, creator Jonathan Blow promptly returned to the drawing board and spent the next eight years working on an ambitious follow-up.

The result was 2016’s The Witness — an enigmatic first-person puzzler set on a seemingly-deserted tropical island, dotted from one end to the other with a vast network of interconnected puzzles.

Boasting spellbinding narrative twists and an unbeatable sense of satisfaction in conquering each puzzle, The Witness is a benchmark in design and environmental storytelling. Download The Witness on PS Plus this month for a slow-burning test of the old grey matter.

Will you jump into Modern Warfare Remastered later today? Let us know how it goes in the comments.

Battlefield 5 Update 1.11 Lightning Strikes Patch #4 Now Live, Here’s the Complete Patch Notes

As expected, the big Battlefield 5 update 1.11 patch has now been deployed by DICE, and it includes a host of fixes, though don’t expect any new content.

According to DICE, this is a smaller quality-of-life update since the studio wanted to address certain issues first and foremost, which includes the flickering issue on squad deployment. Clocking in at just 461MB on the PS4, the Battlefield 5 Lightning Strikes update #4 patch notes are below.

Vehicles

• Fixed the inconsistency between the length of the visual effect of the Churchill Crocodile
tank’s flamethrower when viewing it in third person versus first person.

Weapons, Gadgets, and Specializations
• Fixed the M1907 SF Recoil Buffer Specialization which was previously not working.
• The ZK-383 and Selbstlader 1916 no longer have the wrong zoom level with some sights
when using the Fast ADS movement Specialization.
• Tweaked shotgun balance. We found that shotguns were underperforming compared to
close-range SMGs. The changes to damage drop-off and pellet damage listed below make
shotguns perform more consistently in close quarters and give them a slightly longer optimal
range.
o Increased damage drop-off start distance for buckshot and slug ammo by 1 m.
o 12g Automatic and M1897: Increased buckshot maximum pellet damage from 5 to
7.2.
o M30 Drilling: Increased buckshot maximum pellet damage from 5 to 6.3.

Maps and Modes
• Practice Range: Fixed a bug where players would get stuck when using the “Redeploy” or
“Restart Practice Range” function.
• Combined Arms: On Hot Pursuit, the correct number of soldiers needed to advance the
objective are now spawned.
• War Stories: Players should no longer run into a freeze on The Last Tiger during the section
Reach German Forward Base.
• Fixed the controller vibration function that wouldn’t properly work on some maps while
playing Grand Operations.

UI/HUD/Options/Assignments
• Fixed the flickering issue that could happen on the squad redeploy screen.
• All subtitles in the Combined Arms intro are now triggering correctly.
• Leveling from level 49 to level 50 now properly shows the correct level on the End of Round
screen.
• Further fixes for the End of Round Company Coin counter. This should hopefully show the
correct value for all players.

Stability
• Multiple crash fixes and stability improvements.

PC-Specific Improvements
• Fixed a crash that could happen when players changed the resolution multiple times in a row
while DLSS is enabled.
• DLSS has been disabled when using DX11 due to stability issues.

Xbox One-Specific Improvements
• Fixed an issue where shotguns dealt less damage than intended.

PlayStation® 4-Specific Improvements
• Fixed an issue where shotguns dealt less damage than intended.
• If the player happens to remove the network cable from the console during the map loading
screen, they will once again be able to connect to EA Online without having to restart the
game.

In other Battlefield V news, DICE has announced Operation Sunrise, a new way of interacting with the community.

Apex Legends Review – Hero Royale

Announced and released in the same day, Apex Legends seems to have taken over the gaming world by storm since it launched. While there’s a lot of battle royale games out right now, and there are more on the way, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends seems to have already carved a niche of its own, and is currently being played by millions of players everyday.

Is this a fad? Are people just tired of Fortnite and that’s why it’s so popular right now? While we can’t say for sure what the future holds, one thing is for certain: Respawn has struck gold, and there’s a good reason for it.

apex legends havoc

Fast and Furious

One thing that possibly separates Apex Legends from its competitors is how fast the gameplay is. You can forget about camping or plodding along at a snail’s pace trying to avoid detection. In Apex, you can zip, slide, run, and treat it like an arcade shooter (ie: Call of Duty), and still do well. This is a testament to Respawn’s fantastic gunplay design and movement system, which were both lifted from the Titanfall franchise (minus the wall jumps, and insane jumps, etc.). Of course, you can’t fault Respawn for that given Apex is connected to the Titanfall franchise, though it doesn’t feature any Titans at all.

Speaking of gunplay, this is where Apex shines. If you liked how Blackout felt, or wanted a more arcade-y, and tight feeling in your battle royale games, look no further. Guns pack a wallop, and there are gun attachments to farm and loot for as well.

Apex Legends has nailed the core essentials when it comes to shooters and battle royale in general. Movement feels solid, gunplay is fantastic so far, and there’s the Legends too…

I am Legends

In case you didn’t know, Apex Legends features what the game calls “Legends,” which are commonly referred to as heroes in today’s gaming scene. These are characters with specific abilities that can help an individual or their team achieve victory in skirmishes and more. These Legends abilities run the gamut from being able to heal allies, being able to run faster, carpet bombing a certain area, and more.

What’s surprising here is how well the Legends fit into everything. and are not overpowered at all. Sure, their abilities will help you win gunfights and even matches, but there’s no one Legend and ability that will win it all for you. Simply put: the Legend is only as good as the person who uses him/her. If you’re somehow worried that it plays like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and its Specialists, you’ll be glad to know that’s not the case.

It’s hard to believe that Respawn managed to infuse a battle royale game with actual heroes, and didn’t manage to break the game balance, but here we are. These Legends add a layer of personality since each has their own backstory, quips, finishers, and cosmetic items (more on that later).

apex legends twitch prime

Free-to-Play, Not Pay-to-Win

Of course, a game can’t be free-to-play (F2P) without having microtransactions baked in. Thankfully, Apex Legends only has item skins, banners, finishers, and essentially almost everything they can sell that won’t affect the actual gameplay.

Respawn has made it so that each Legend has individual banners, quips, finishers, voice lines, and more customizable and purchasable. You can choose not to spend a cent and earn these things with the game’s progression system. There are Apex Packs (loot boxes) that grant three random items to players, there are skins that can be bought outright, and there are crafting materials earned too, which will allow players to craft their desired banner, skin, etc., provided they have enough materials.

Related Reading: Top 7 Reasons Why Apex Legends Can and Will Hook in Non-Battle Royale Fans

As for Legends themselves, those who want to pay to unlock them straight away is an option, but seeing as the two locked Legends (Caustic and Mirage) don’t offer any big advantage to any of the Legends available off the bat, there’s really no real rush to unlock them via real-world money. Just by playing, earning XP, and whatnot, you’ll be able to buy both easy. For me personally, I’ve managed to unlock both using the in-game currency, and just by playing and earning XP.

It’s (the game’s microtransaction element) basically non-intrusive, and while the store items for skins are at a ridiculous $18 per, at least it doesn’t affect the gameplay in anyway. Hey, the devs and publisher need to make money somehow, right? This is the lesser of two evils.

Old Dog, Meet New Tricks

With the success of PUBG, and Fortnite, there has been countless battle royale titles since then. So what makes Apex Legends stand out? Not only did Respawn introduce heroes in battle royale (they aren’t the first, but they did a fine good job at it), but they also introduced refinements and other stuff that makes it easier for non-battle royale fans (like myself) to ease ourselves into it.

In Apex Legends, matches don’t consist of 100-player war, but rather, a more “intimate” 60-person affair that not only makes matches faster to finish, but it makes the pace a lot faster. There’s no staging area, no super long wait for encounters (unless you want them to by hiding), no building mechanic or some other thing that stands in the way of you, your gun, your enemy, and victory. And isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?

Even with how you deploy on ships, Respawn has found a way to shake that up, too! In Apex Legends, each three-person squad that jumps has a “Jump Master” that can direct where each person can go. Mind, players can choose not to follow the Jump Master, but for maximum survivability, it’s a good idea to stick together.

Another new addition to the genre, which I wouldn’t be surprised to see copied by other shooters and other multiplayer games is the “ping” system developed by Respawn. Think of it as a more robust method of the Battlefield franchise’s spotting mechanic. With Apex Legends’ ping system, you can ask squadmates for ammo, specific items, call out enemies, tell them where to go, and lots  more, all with the press of a button. It’s ingenious, yet so simple, that I’m surprised no one else has thought of it just yet. This means that you don’t even need to wear a mic to be a “good” teammate and call out enemies, though of course, that’s still preferred.

You Are the Champion, Brudda!

At this point in the review, you might be wondering why there’s not a lot of complaints about Apex Legends, and well, there’s just not many things to hate about it. While you could argue that the in-game UI for characters need work, or how the inventory system when looting could be made more efficient , these things are developed over time, and with consumer feedback. And given how Respawn has already patched the game a few times since it launched just a few weeks ago, these concerns might not be concerns at all in a few weeks’ time. While there are still technical issues that need to be addressed soon (namely, crashing issues), it’s not enough to dampen the experience.

You know how there’s always one game, console, or instance that changed the gaming landscape every year? Apex Legends could be it. Before Respawn’s game, Fortnite seemed nigh untouchable, but now? It’s already pulling in Fortnite-like numbers and we’re just a month in with promises of more modes, Legends, guns and more to come soon.

With how Respawn Entertainment has crafted Apex Legends, it’s a AAA title masquerading itself as a F2P game, which is hard to believe is this good. If you’re a battle royale fan, or just a shooter fan, you owe it to yourself to try Apex Legends! Simply put: the first must-play multiplayer game of 2019 has arrived, and it didn’t need titans to pull it off.

Score: 9.5/10

Pros:

  • Movement and gunplay are excellent
  • Ping system is ingenious
  • Pace is fast, and doesn’t drag
  • Legends are balanced and add an element of uniqueness to each match

Cons:

  • Crashing is still prevalent even after patches (PS4)
  • In-game HUD and Inventory system could use a bit of work
  • Character skin prices are ridiculous for a first-person game where you won’t even see it that much

Apex Legends played on PS4 Pro; reached level 67, and managed to be the Champion a Kill Leader a few times, too.  You can read MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

Here’s the Complete Anthem Map Locations of Chests, World Events, Titans, and More

While it might be fun flying around the open world of Anthem, those who are after specific things might not appreciate the endless scouring, and searching. If you’re one of the people who’d rather go from one point to the next, and take out the endless exploration, you’re in luck!

Reddit user Dicejss has made what appears to be the complete Anthem map locations of everything in the open world. There are markers for Chests, World Events, Titans, Cortex Entries and more! Check out the images below.

https://imgur.com/D5Xs8NC

There’s even a colorblind version as well.

https://imgur.com/xaMprl4

If you need more info regarding Anthem, we also posted the complete Legendary and Masterwork items list, which should be super handy.

In other Anthem news, it seems the PS4 version of the game is having a lot of technical issues, with one gamer even saying that his console got bricked because of the game! Over the weekend, we reported on how a YouTuber got perma-banned from Anthem due to apparently exploiting the game’s economy.

Gamer Claims Anthem Bricked His PS4, Multiple Reports of Consoles Automatically Shutting Down Surfacing

While Anthem hasn’t received the warmest welcome critically, it seems to still have enough of a fan base to make the game hit the top spot in sales charts in some territories. Unfortunately though, the latest development from the game is dangerously scary, to the point that people are being told to NOT play Anthem.

Over on the official Anthem subreddit, multiple users have reported that they’ve experienced their consoles automatically shutting down due to Anthem. Think that’s scary? One user posted and mentioned that his console has been “completely bricked” to the point of not even turning on due to Anthem.

PSA to Playstation Anthem Players
byu/TheMadTitanGuantlet inAnthemTheGame

PSA to any Anthem players on Playstation that experience complete shut downs of their consoles: STOP PLAYING! Before I start I want to say that I love Anthem (I have criticized the game before but I genuinely enjoy playing it). I also own Anthem on both Xbox one and playstation 4 (Colossus main on Xbox and Interceptor on Playstation). No other game causes my playstation to randomly turn off while playing.

My playstation has been completely bricked to the point of not even turning on because of Anthem. I’m not looking for any sympathy or anything. This post is mainly being made to warn people that this could potentially damage your console to the dreaded point of no return. I’ve been talking on the phone with Playstation support for a little over 2 hours now,but unfortunately theres nothing they can do (or nothing they’re willing to do). At this point I dont know if I’m going to continue playing on Xbox one (haven’t had any problems with the console shutting down while playing but problems may arrive in the future) or to stop playing all together until Bioware addresses this issue.

I adore my playstation for many exclusives and I’m extremely upset that it died playing a game I’ve come to love aside from all the bugs. The characters, story, graphics, voice acting, motion capture are just a few of the things that keep me coming back to this game. What makes me sad is that this game has SO much potential that’s over shadowed by numerous bugs and issues. I hope one day I can come back in the coming months and experience a better Anthem.

More users have chimed in with almost all of them saying that the game has caused their consoles to shutdown, and be greeted by the dreaded blue screen of (error) dread.

This is the only game that causes a complete PS4 shutdown
byu/forthemasters inAnthemTheGame

When encountering a crash or game error, sometimes I get booted to the main menu or out of the game completely to the PS4 dashboard. But twice now when trying to matchmake my PS4 has completely turned off. Don’t worry about the loot patch ffs, sort the bugs out first please

More reports like the ones you see above can be seen here.

In other Anthem news, BioWare has seemingly perma-banned a YouTuber for apparently exploiting the economy! Read up on that here.

Retailer Lists The Last of Us Part II Release Date for October

Given how excellent The Last of Us was, it’s understandable that a lot of people (including me) is looking forward to The Last of Us Part II. While we’re expecting the game to be released sometime this year, a retailer might have just leaked exactly which month.

Peruvian gaming retailer LawGamers (via ComicBook)has released a promotional image for The Last of us Part II, which might have been posted a wee bit early. In the image below, you’ll see that The Last of Us Part II release date is marked for October 2019.

the last of us part ii release date

Bear in mind though, this could very well be a placeholder date, as is the case with marketing materials used by retailers. For reference, The Last of Us (first one) was released in June 14, 2013.

In other The Last of Us Part II news, we know that the multiplayer side of the game will have an in-game store, and will feature character customization items. You should also check out this reaction video released by Sony when The Last of Us Part II was announced back in 2016.

Anthem Ban Slapped on YouTuber Permanently Due to Apparent Economy Exploitation

Well. here’s a new one, I think. YouTuber Gladd just got an email saying he got permanently banned from playing Anthem for apparently exploiting the game’s economy.

Before the game’s loot patch nerf patch dropped that lessened the Legendary and Masterwork item drop in Anthem, YouTuber Gladd constantly did “loops” around the open world farming chests which yielded Legendary and Masterwork items at a higher rate (drop rate was higher due  to BioWare’s own doing). Note that this method has been plastered online, and was even on the Anthem subreddit at a time.

Gladd says he livestreamed doing this for about a day, wherein he got thousands of people watching, and even made a video on how he got his gear. Him showing other people how to do the chest exploit is what he assumed is what got him banned. He also says that he repeatedly did  the Storm class ultimate exploit, which was present in the beta, and something he forwarded this exploit thing to the BioWare devs on Twitter, and doesn’t think that’s the cause.

Another thing he thinks might be the cause is by farming a boss, which is a bit weird if so, since boss farming glitches and whatnot have been present in games like Destiny, Diablo and the lot since forever.

What’s interesting here is, Anthem does not have a PvP (Player vs Player) mode of any sort, and has no in-game economy that can affect other players (item trading, Coin trading, etc.).

Gladd finishes by saying that he’s hoping this gets resolved soon since he does want to cover Anthem.

Do you agree with BioWare’s decision here or is Gladd not doing anything wrong since the game doesn’t have an actual economy and whatever items he farms can only be used for PvE? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Anthem Sales Take Flight and Perches on Top of the EMEAA Charts

While it’s not faring particularly well critically (at a low 57 on Metacritic), it seems Anthem is doing alright for itself in terms of sales. Not only did it manage to top the UK charts in its debut week, but Anthem sales also soared high in the EMEAA (Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa) territories as it debuted no. 1 collectively.

Per unit breakdown mentions that Anthem sales were best on PS4, and the Xbox One was in second place. PC sales were significantly lower (at no. 37), but it’s mostly due to Origin sales not being included in the sales data.

Last Week This Week Title
New Entry 1 Anthem
1 2 Far Cry New Dawn
5 3 FIFA 19
3 4 Metro Exodus
5 4 Red Dead Redemption 2
2 6 Jump Force
8 7 New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
6 8 Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
11 9 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
7 10 Grand Theft Auto V

As for MP1st’s review of Anthem, we’re still playing through the game (not rushing), and will review it fairly with the recent patches installed and accounted for, so stay tuned!

In other Anthem news, go check out the complete Legendary and Masterwork items list! If you’re not interested in that, maybe this roadmap for the next 90 days is your cup of tea?

Report: Fortnite Respawn Feature in Battle Royale Might Be a Thing Soon According to Datamined Files

Possibly one of the biggest changes Apex Legends has brought to the battle royale genre is being able to respawn teammates even after they died. I don’t mean being able to revive, but actually resurrect them from the grave for another chance at winning.

It seems Fortnite might be borrowing this mechanic, and will implement this soon! Fortnite Twitter fan account FortTory has found a bunch of files from the game’s code that suggests that players will be given a “second chance” even after they’ve bit the proverbial virtual bullet! Yes, that means a Fortnite respawn mechanic might be introduced soon!

Note that this isn’t a guarantee that this feature will be in the game, but then again, given how Epic Games has went to all that trouble to actually program it somehow in the game, I gather, it’ll be part of an announcement sooner or later.

Would you want a respawn mechanic in Fortnite? What else do you think it can borrow from Apex Legends?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Rated by PEGI for PS4

Could Sony be possibly hinting at something when it announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered as one of the free PlayStation Plus games for next month?

Over on PEGI’s website (via Reddit), which is the European version of the ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board), a filing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was unearthed, though it has since been pulled. Here’s a screencap of it:

It’s worth noting that the filing only mentions the single-player of the game, though it’s very unlikely that Activision will remaster one of the most influential first-person shooter games of all time and not include its highly popular multiplayer component.

Also of note, the February 28 release date is obviously a placeholder one, as we’re now in March and we haven’t even heard of any confirmation for it.

Could this Modern Warfare 2 Remastered be bundled with this year’s Call of Duty game by Infiniy Ward? Back in 2016, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered was originally bundled as part of a special edition (read: more expensive) bundle for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, before a standalone version was released months after in June 2017.

We’ve reached out to Activision to ask for a statement and will update the post if and when we hear back. However, given how popular Modern Warfare 2 is, it’s just a matter of time before it gets remastered, and if I had to hazard a guess, this isn’t a mistake on PEGI’s part.

Would you want to play Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer again? What do you want to see changed if so?

Borderlands 3 Reveal Might Be Imminent as Gearbox Teases “Never-Before-Seen Reveals” at PAX East

Could Gearbox Software finally be revealing Borderlands 3? Rumors have been circulating that the loot shooter is set for release sometime this year, and it seems Gearbox could finally be doing a Borderlands 3 reveal soon.

The PAX East 2019 schedule (via IGN) mentions how Gearbox is holding a show on its own on Thursday, March 28. While there’s no specific mention of Borderlands 3, it does have a tease that we’ll see something new.

This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more!  We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!

The reveal could very well be for another game franchise, or a new one altogether, but with the studio outright confirming it is working on Borderlands 3, I wouldn’t be surprised if we finally see the game unveiled after all these years.

The Division 2 Microtransactions and Year 1 Pass Details Revealed by Ubisoft

Just a few days ago, Ubisoft revealed the outline of free content players will be getting with The Division 2, along with the contents of the Year 1 Pass. Today, the publisher dives deep into the Year 1 Pass, and we now know how The Divsion 2 microtransactions stuff will work!

YEAR 1 CONTENT: EPISODES AND SPECIALIZATIONS

In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, we are focused on offering you an exciting endgame experience on Day One. What’s more, we are committed to bring you more content regularly, that we believe will improve and renew your experience every time you spawn in Washington D.C. To that end, we will release three Episodes during the course of Year 1, expanding on the story of The Division 2. These Episodes will introduce new narrative driven content, as well as new ways to play the game. This additional content will be free for all players of The Division 2. Alongside the Episodes we will also release three brand new Specializations for you to take on Washington’s challenges in a new way, each of them bringing a new unique signature weapon and skills tree to unlock and master.

  • The first Episode, D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions will take you to the surrounding areas of Washington as you chase down elite members of the Outcasts and the Black Tusks and fight for the liberation of the city in new locations.
  • The second Episode, Pentagon: The Last Castle will bring you to one of America’s most iconic locations to unveil what secrets lie inside this well protected maze.
  • Our third Episode will conclude Year 1 of The Division 2 and pave the way for more thrilling content.

The Year 1 Pass includes the following additional content:

  • 7-Day Early Access to Episode Narrative Content
    • Owners of the Pass will have a 7-day early access to the narrative content only, included in all Year 1 Episodes.
  • Instant unlock of the Year 1 Specializations
    • At launch, The Division 2 will include three Specializations, instantly available to everyone when reaching max level (Level 30).
    • Throughout Year 1, we will release three additional Specializations for your agent. Year 1 Pass holders will unlock these new specializations as soon as they’re released.
    • For those who do not have the Year 1 Pass, specializations will be released at the same time, but must be unlocked over time through gameplay.
    • Year 1 Pass holders will also be able to earn exclusive cosmetic items with each Specialization’s release.
  • Exclusive Access to Classified Assignments
    • Over the course of Year 1, Pass holders will have exclusive access to 8 Classified Assignments, which will provide more story behind the events leading to your arrival in D.C.
    • Completing each assignment will award you with a unique and exclusive backpack trophy to customize your Agent’s look.
  • Additional Bounties and Projects
    • Bounties in The Division 2 are special tasks to eliminate specific enemy targets, while Projects are assignments to complete various tasks around D.C.
    • As a Year 1 Pass holder, you will get access to one additional Bounty per week and one extra Project per day for a Challenging mission.
    • This perk ends on March 1st, 2020.
  • Exclusive Cosmetic Items
    • Year 1 Pass holders will get access to these exclusive rewards: the Agent Ward Outfit and the Scout emote.

The Division 2 Year 1 Pass can be bought separate when the game launches or as part of the Gold or Ultimate Editions of the game.

Lastly, Ubisoft has outlined how The Division 2 microtransactions will work, and it’s not that bad.

POST-LAUNCH MONETIZATION

Our overall monetization philosophy is that purchasable items should always be optional to the player.

At launch there will be two ways to purchase additional content for The Division 2.

  1. First and foremost is the Year 1 Pass, lined out in detail above.
  2. Secondly, we have the in-game Apparel Store, where players are able to directly purchase cosmetic items for purchasable Premium Credits. This option exists for those who wish to know exactly what they are buying and are looking to acquire a specific cosmetic item.

Shortly after launch we will be adding the first purchasable Apparel Caches. These Caches will contain cosmetics only: no weapons, crafting materials or other gear. Acquiring a Cache will never provide any type of advantage.

Our intention is for players to organically earn new pieces of Apparel as they enjoy the many different activities of The Division 2; getting cosmetics from gameplay should be fun, exciting and rewarding. For those who wish to speed up this process, or acquire specific Apparel, there will be choices to directly purchase individual cosmetics in the Apparel Store, or via Event Caches post launch.

Don’t forget, The Division 2 is now in open beta! You can download the beta client here, or check out the new tutorial video Ubisoft released earlier today.
