Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Hotfix for Today Tweaks the Saug and Annihilator

Treyarch has released yet another Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hotfix (server-side update) today, and it brings the Saug 9mm SMG back to its former glory. Seraph’s Annihilator ability gets nerfed, and more.

Weapon Tuning Changes: Saug 9mm and Annihilator

As we set the stage for CWL Fort Worth on March 15-17, we wanted to make sure the Saug 9mm could help the SMG class stand up against assault rifles in competitive play. With today’s update, we’re increasing the Saug 9mm’s ADS move speed when using the Stock attachment back to pre-1.13 patch levels.

Similarly, we’ve seen Seraph’s Annihilator shut down entire teams too efficiently in the right hands during competitive play. As of today’s update, we’ve made a balancing pass to reduce the Annihilator’s firing rate and earn rate to bring it more in line with the rest of the Specialist Weapons included in the latest CWL ruleset. These updates take effect in Multiplayer and League Play on all platforms starting today.

CWL and League Play Ruleset Updates

We’ve also gathered feedback from players across the COD World League and have decided to add Zero to the playable Specialist list in the CWL ruleset, starting with today’s update. Zero’s EMP and Ice Pick deliver a new layer of strategy to competitive play as a counter to some of the more powerful Scorestreaks and Equipment on the battlefield, and we’re excited to see how her tools come into play at CWL Fort Worth.

We’ve also added the Drone Squad, Sniper’s Nest, and Strike Team to the list of restricted Scorestreaks in the CWL ruleset based on additional player feedback regarding AI-controlled Scorestreaks. Zero will have fewer chances to hack Scorestreaks in competitive play as a result, with more of the action focusing on pure gunplay.

Lastly, we’ve heard the community’s requests for punishments against teamkillers in League Play with today’s update, as players will now be kicked from the game after multiple intentional teamkills. Play nice or go back to pubs, folks.

To summarize, the following changes will be reflected in competitive play starting today and at CWL Fort Worth on March 15-17:

  • Saug 9mm ASD move speed increased when using the Stock attachment
  • Annihilator fire rate and earn rate reduced
  • Zero added as playable Specialist
  • Drone Squad, Sniper’s Nest, and Strike Team Scorestreaks now restricted
  • Players will now be kicked for repeated intentional teamkilling in League Play

Summary:

  • Hot Pursuit now live in Blackout on all platforms
  • Saug 9mm tuning changes in Multiplayer
  • Annihilator tuning changes in Multiplayer and Blackout
  • Zero added as playable Specialist to in competitive play
  • Drone Squad, Sniper’s Nest, and Strike Team Scorestreaks now restricted in competitive play
  • Players are now kicked for intentional teamkilling in League Play Events

Speculation: Dying Light 2 Hardware Requirement

Dying Light, which is an open-world survival-horror video game, provided spectacular gameplay and was widely appreciated for its concepts. This year, Techland is coming up with its sequel Dying Light 2 and it is one of the most anticipated games of the year 2019. The gameplay trailer of the game sparkled the eyes of gamers, as many new concepts are being introduced in the game.

The AAA titles these days are much more complex than those some years ago. A lot of people are anxious about the hardware requirements of Dying Light 2 because many other games with similar graphics require expensive hardware to run at stable frame rates. Such an example would be Assassins Creed Odyssey, where a lot of people had problems with performance and could not achieve stable gameplay despite the game having great mechanisms.

With that being said, the prequel, Dying Light, was designed using Chrome Engine 6. This time the company has come up with the new “C-Engine” which is particularly designed for open-world action adventure and action-RPG games. The company has not yet released the official hardware requirements of the game which is why many people are waiting anxiously. Let’s analyze all the data and see what this title needs for a seamless gameplay experience.

Minimum Requirements

Following are the minimum requirements to achieve 30 FPS at 1080p resolution while using low-medium settings.

OS: Windows 10 64-Bit

Processor: Intel Core i3-4160 / Ryzen 3 1200

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB / AMD RX 470 4GB

System Memory: 8GB RAM

Storage: 65 GB Hard drive space

Recommended Requirements

Following are the requirements to achieve 60 FPS at 1080p resolution while using a blend of medium and high settings.

OS: Windows 10 64-Bit

Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 / Ryzen 5 1500

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD RX 590

System Memory: 16GB RAM

Storage: 65 GB Hard drive space

First of all, let’s talk about the requirements of the processor. Since this is an open-world game, it is pretty much obvious that you need a hefty processor to handle all the processing in the background. To achieve 30 FPS, we will recommend at least a fourth-generation Intel i3 processor while any Ryzen processor will provide you more than 30 FPS easily as even the least powerful Ryzen is equipped with four cores. A generation, or two, older Intel i3 processor would be quite similar in performance but you may experience hiccups during the gameplay. On the other hand, for 60 FPS, a fourth-generation Intel i7 processor should be enough while Ryzen 5 1400 or higher should provide similar performance.

Games are equally dependent on the graphics card as the processor, especially for high graphical settings. Dying Light 2 provides amazing graphics and a lot of graphical processing power is required to achieve that. We will recommend at least Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti for 30 FPS gameplay at 1080p resolution, while GTX 970 would provide slightly better results. For AMD, an RX 470 should be more than enough to handle 30 FPS at 1080p resolution with medium settings. To achieve 60 FPS at 1080p resolution, we will recommend Nvidia GTX 1070, or GTX 980 Ti from the previous generation, although GTX 1060 can also be used with slight variations. If you are looking to buy one, then have a look at these 1060 GPUs. For AMD, RX 590 should handle 60 fps easily at medium settings while R9 Fury X would also be very similar. If you want to go for higher resolutions then you should consider using an Nvidia GTX 1080/Ti or AMD Vega 56/64 as resolution drastically affects the frame rates.

As for the RAM is concerned, high RAM capacity ensures stutter-free gameplay, so we will recommend 12-16 GB RAM for a smooth experience, however, if you have 8GB RAM in your system, you might have to optimize your computer so that maximum amount of RAM can be allocated to your game. But then again, 8GB RAM will not ensure completely stutter-free gameplay, although it will not be much of a problem.

As the game is not yet finalized, we don’t have a particular prediction for the game’s size, however, we believe that around 65GB space should be enough for a game of this league.

Report: Full Mortal Kombat 11 Roster Leaked

It seems the full Mortal Kombat 11 roster has been leaked well ahead of time! While NetherRealm Studios has slowly been trickling the fighters included in the game, a new image has popped up online, and shows the character select screen in its entirety.

Originally posted in the Mortal Kombat subreddit before being pulled, ResetEra user NeoRaider managed to grab a picture of it, which you can see below.

Of course, there’s a chance this could be a fake, but if it is, it’s a very well made one. It also seems that this leaked roster shot was taken from an unfinished build of the game since some character spots have no images on ’em.

It also looks like the three secret unlockable characters are Shang Tsung, Shinnok, and Mileena.

We’ve reached out to Warner Bros. Interactive to see what they have to say about the leak, and will update the story if we get a response.

Mortal Kombat 11 will kick its way out on this April 23 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Present at This Year’s E3

While we got a huge chunk of Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay last year, CD Projekt RED has been a bit quiet the past few months regarding the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG. Fortunately for us, the studio has confirmed that we will indeed Cyberpunk 2077 in some form or another this year!

The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account confirmed that the game will be present at this year’s E3!

Of course, we don’t know what exactly we’ll be getting, but we’ll take it. Let’s just hope it’s actual gameplay, and something new.

Anthem Loot Hotfix Now Out, Here Are the Exact Tweaks Made

While BioWare has already deployed a hefty patch earlier today, the studio has now rolled out a server-side update for the Anthem loot changes discussed yesterday! This Anthem loot hotfix will not require a download.

Check out the exact changes in this Anthem loot hotfix below (via Reddit).

  • Items will no longer have inscriptions on them that are not appropriate for that specific item. NOTE: This only applies to items obtained after the patch. Items obtained prior to the hotfix will still have the same inscriptions they had before.
  • Masterwork crafting costs have been reduced from 25 -> 15 Masterwork Embers. The amount of plants, metal and parts required for crafting a Masterwork item have also been reduced.

Pretty short list, but one that’s welcome nonetheless. Speaking of loot in Anthem, go check out this complete list of Legendary and Masterwork items in the game.

For those looking forward for more content, BioWare has outlined what it has planned for Anthem in the next 90 days.

Battlefield V Map Feedback From the Community Being Asked by DICE

Like the maps in Battlefield V? Yes? No? If you’re a player of the game, here’s your chance to be heard! DICE is asking for Battlefield 5 map feedback from the community!

Battlefield Community Manager Jeff Braddock posted a message asking the community about map feedback, which you can read about below.

With the varied maps in Battlefield V, we go from cities to snowy mountains and deserts to devastated airfields. Each map (Panzerstorm included) has their own quirks, and each can tweak how you play based on situational circumstances specific to that map. We’ll go over some of the top comments from you, our community, and have a constructive discussion on what makes a map a “bad map” and what really good maps look like.

Community feedback:

  • More Maps – Yep, we know the community wants more maps. Currently, Battlefield V has 9 maps (not counting the night version of Panzerstorm in Battle of Hannut). This is definitely something that’s coming, with the Battle of Greece coming this March featuring Crete.
  • Night Maps – Requests for night versions of current maps are also a big topic. One thing to note when creating night maps: It’s not as simple as just replacing the sun with the moon. From previous conversations in older titles, some devs have mentioned it’s actually easier in some cases to create a whole new map than to “nightify” (yep, I just made that word up – you’re welcome) an existing map. Shadows, light sources, etc. changing on current maps can actually be a bit more heady than creating a new map from scratch. Doesn’t mean it’s impossible, but that is the reality.
  • Classic maps of WW2 – We’ve heard the requests for D-Day maps (Normandy and such), new regions, and some reimagining of maps from BF2. We don’t have anything to share just yet on our next iteration of maps at this time, but we also don’t want you to think you’re talking into the void. We do hear you. Stay tuned for the next roadmap that’s coming out which will detail quite a bit for the next Chapters.
  • Community Maps – Something that was really awesome was the Community Map Project in Battlefield 4. Working closely with the community’s feedback and testing, we created a new map based on previous maps and wholly new ideas. Definitely something we’ve seen from within the community.

Check out the rest of the post and what some of the good map feedback DICE has collected right here.

Anthem Update Version 1.04 Now Out, Here Are the List of Changes

Heads up, Freelancers! A new Anthem update is out now, and it brings the game version to 1.04! While we already posted a list of changes set to come in an upcoming update, this, sadly, is not it. In Anthem update version 1.04, the changes made are mostly technical fixes, though the one with the big set of changes will be coming in at a later today or on March 1.

Clocking in at 3.4GB on PS4, Anthem update version 1.04 patch notes are (via Reddit):

This morning we will be deploying a patch with the following changes:

  • The tethering timer for missions has been increased. Players should now have more time to catch up to their Squad before seeing a countdown timer.
  • The Swarm Tyrant encounter in the Tyrant Mine Stronghold can no longer be reset by the entire Squad exiting to the main menu and rejoining the session in progress.
  • Players are no longer able to reopen chests that have already been looted in Strongholds.

As for the patch set to deploy later today or on March 1, here’s the big list of changes that one has in it:

Planned changes to go live on February 28, or March 1:

  • Inscriptions are now better for the items they are on
    • This applies to new items earned in Anthem (not existing ones in your Vault)
    • If an inscription applies only to the item it is on (gear icon), it will be useful to that item. Otherwise the inscription will provide a Javelin wide benefit
    • For example, an Assault Rifle will not have an item specific +pistol damage inscription. It may have a +electric damage suit wide inscription (cool for a lightning build)
    • Some more information below
  • Removed uncommon (white) and common (green) items from level 30 drop tables
    • This was a highly requested change and we agree, so that’s that.
  • We have reduced the crafting materials needed to craft a masterwork from 25 masterwork embers to 15 masterwork embers
    • As you salvage or harvest, you should be able to craft more masterwork items to get the inscriptions you are looking for
    • Now that inscriptions are more relevant to their item, this should yield better results for players

Additional inscription change details

Its hard to write a short version of this, but I’m going to try. If we need to add more information later we can do that…

  • Current: There are a large pool of inscription options available to roll on items, the inscription pools are generic (e.g. Weapons)
    • Every masterwork item has 4 inscriptions – Major Primary, Minor Primary, Major Secondary, Minor Secondary
  • Change: Each item type now has a specific set of inscription options for each of their inscription pools. The pools are smaller and are targeted to the specific item type
    • E.g. there used to be a Weapon pool, now there is an Assault Rifle pool and the assault rifle pool has 4 pools for each of the inscription types listed above
    • Primary inscriptions are focused on damage or survivability
      • Any item specific inscriptions (gear icon) will always benefit the item they are on
      • Javelin wide inscriptions (suit icon) will benefit damage or survivability across the whole Javelin
    • Secondary inscriptions focus on utility and can be targeted to the item (gear icon) or the entire javelin (suit icon)

In other Anthem news, go check out the complete list of Legendary and Masterwork items in the game so far.

Report: Apex Legends Octane Abilities Revealed in First Image

Just two weeks ago, we reported that a new and unannounced Legend called Octane was found in the Apex Legends game files. It seems, we might now know the character’s abilities!

Before diving deeper, note that the Apex Legends Octane image below is not verified, and could very well be fake. We’ve reached out to EA for a statement and will update the post if we get a reply. So treat everything with a grain of salt, alright?

Check out our first look at the character and his abilities below (via Reddit).

Octane – High Speed Daredevil

  • Passive: Swift Mend – While not talking damage, Octane restores health over time.
  • Tactical: Adrenaline Junkie – Move 30% faster for 6 seconds. Costs 10% health. Immune to slows while active.
  • Ultimate: Deployable jump pad that catapults users through the air.

Not a bad set of abilities, no? The Swift Mend one sounds a bit OP, but Lifeline is pretty much the same, and it hasn’t upset the game balance yet.

Again, there’s no guarantee that this is legit, so treat this one as a rumor for now. Are you liking what you’ve seen of Octane so far? Do you think the character will disrupt the current meta?

Anthem Loot Drop Changes Planned to Go Out Tomorrow or on March 1, and Here’s What’s Happening

Just a few days ago, we mentioned how BioWare has apparently nerfed the Anthem loot drops, which the community did not appreciate. Well, there’s some good news! In  an new post on Reddit, BioWare Lead Producer Ben Irving has revealed the Anthem loot drop changes planned by the studio.

Summary of Anthem loot issues by the community:

  • Many inscriptions are not useful to the item they are attached to
  • Due to this, players need to get many masterworks of the same item to find a “good one”
  • Players want the frequency of masterwork drops to increase to help with the above OR…
  • They want us to change how masterwork inscriptions work so that they are more “useful”

New Red Dead Online Update Cuts Sources of Player Income Significantly, Community Compares It to GTA Online

In case you didn’t know, a Red Dead Online update was rolled out yesterday that brought in new items, and a few bug fixes, and something not welcome, a change in how players earn resources within the game.

It seems some Rockstar has drastically reduced how players earn money in the game, as players have noticed that three-star pelts that dropped from one-star animals under certain conditions was removed completely.

This post from Reddit user AFatBlackMan is already at over 13,000 upvotes on Reddit.

Red Dead Online’s first major update pushes microtransactions while cutting major sources of player income in half
byu/AFatBlackMan inGames

In reality, one of the two new weapons is now listed as coming soon, as well as some of the new clothing options. Emotes are now purchasable for $100+ or gold bars (Boins). It’s clear Rockstar wants players to spend money on their premium currency because hunting activities which were already low paying have been cut in half, so these weapons and cosmetics are effectively 2x as costly for players who hunt for their income.

The Evans Repeater was listed as part of this patch but is now “coming soon” even though one of the new daily assignments requires getting kills with it. The repeater appears to be an online only addition as it does not appear at all in single player stores. The other gun, the “rare shotgun” is a double barrel which is actually worse than the normal double barrel when ungraded.

New activities are bugged and unavailable , and the only bug fixes made in this patch appear to have been ones that allowed players to make money too quickly. While horses still reset to bond level 1 and beard styles are not selectable, Rockstar targeted three star pelts dropping from one star animals under certain conditions and using animal carcasses to bait finish was removed completely.

TLDR: they are trying to kill the game

The sentiment you see above isn’t a lone case as other users have chimed in and have spoken out regarding Rockstar Games’ “cash grab.” Here’s what AgentWashintub1 had to say about it:

Red Dead Redemption’s original multiplayer was fun because it was surprising. Nobody really expected it to have much meat on the bones but it was packed with fun activities and there were plenty of opportunities for players to create their own fun. And it was still monetised but in a way that offered something significant for your money, new skins, weapons and modes.

RDR2 Online is a blatant cynical cash grab designed to force grinding or force the money out of player’s wallets with very little room for player driven antics. Even it’s competitive modes leave a lot to be desired when the grind for the guns and gear necessary to play competitively seems designed to force players to pay more money. Say what you want for GTA Online but at least you don’t have to grind for several hours to be able to afford basic clothing, weaponry and vehicles. Sure you’ll be playing a while to afford the high end stuff but at least there’s plenty you can take part in without it.

Here’s a few more:

Of course, any conversation regarding Red Dead Online microtransactions and whatnot wont be complete without touching on GTA Online.

If you want to read more stuff about it, check here.

Yep, this is not good, no? Will Rockstar change it back to how it was once? Or maybe give players a bone? I doubt it given how GTA Online is now, but one can hope.

Have you tried Red Dead Online after the latest patch? What’s your take on this so far?
