Exoprimal Gameplay and Dinosaur Introduction Trailers Roar Out

Capcom’s upcoming third-person multiplayer shooter game, Exoprimal, where players have to fight against massive hordes of dinosaurs and other mutated pre-historic creatures has been getting attention lately. Here’s a rundown of all of the Exoprimal gameplay trailers revealed by Capcom (they’re quite a few).

Exoprimal – Gameplay Trailer

Exoprimal – Extended Gameplay Preview

Exoprimal – Teamwork Gameplay Video

Exoprimal – PvP Gameplay Preview

Exoprimal – Dinosaur Introduction

Here’s a description of the game, via its Steam profile.

Exosuits are grouped into different roles, and players will pilot these exosuits to hold firm against overwhelming dinosaur swarms in online-only, team-based action game modes.
Dino Survival, the main game mode, sees two teams of five players compete in a variety of PvE and PvP missions.
Players will be transported to the scene of the latest dinosaur outbreak and follow Leviathan’s guidance to complete objectives. The team that completes the mission first will emerge victorious.
Whether players are engaging the other team directly, or fighting alongside them against a common enemy, the aim is to accomplish objectives as quickly as possible. Missions vary depending on player skill and other factors, meaning no two matches will unfold the same way.

Exoprimal releases for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC at an undisclosed date in 2023.

Meta Quest 2 Headset Gets a $100 Price Increase After Being on the Market for Two Years

Meta Quest has officially announced that their Meta Quest 2 headsets will see a $100 price increase. To downplay the price hike, Meta is going to include Beat Saber, one of the most popular games on Quest, with the headset. Meta Quest 2 now costs $399.99 (128GB) and $499.99 (256GB), which previously costed $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.

The price hike will be effective from August 1, 2022, and players who purchase the headset from August 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 and activate the device using an account that doesn’t already have Bear Saber enabled, will be able to download Beat Saber at no additional cost.

Meta explains the price hike in a blog post.

We have an ambitious VR hardware roadmap, beginning with the launch of our high-end headset, Project Cambria, later this year. And we plan to ship new generations of Meta Quest after that. At Reality Labs Research, we have teams dedicated to advancing the state of the art in VR displays, audio, incredibly lifelike avatars, haptics, wrist-based interfaces, and more. And on the content front, we have a robust lineup of exciting titles coming to Meta Quest 2, including Ghostbusters VR, Among Us VR, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution, BONELAB, and NFL PRO ERA—VR’s first officially-licensed NFL game.

The company claims that it will still be the most affordable VR headset after the price hike.

Even with these pricing changes, Meta Quest 2 continues to be the most affordable VR headset with a comparable feature set on the market. And each headset keeps getting better after you buy. From hand tracking improvements and Air Link to Meta Horizon Home, we’re constantly adding new features to make VR more social, intuitive, and immersive than ever before.

Fans aren’t thrilled about the price hike, and they believe including a $30 game (Saber Quest) doesn’t make up for the $100 price hike. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments below.

The Sims 4 Update 1.61 Released, Adds More Customization Options & Fixes This July 26

Maxis has released The Sims 4 update 1.61 on all platforms, which adds a slew of customization options, as well as a slew of bug fixes. Check out what’s new in the official The Sims 4 July 26 patch notes.

The Sims 4 Update 1.61 | The Sims 4 July 26 Patch Notes:

WHAT’S NEW?

You’ve been hearing all about the amazing features coming with High School Years. Let’s take a moment and look at what is coming to everyone as part of today’s Base Game Update!

The Phone has gone through a bit of an OS update to a sleek, new interface. All of the previous functionality still is there and customizing the background and case color options for each Sims’ phone is easier than ever.

Body Hair is here and no lycanthropy is required. You will find a selection of arm, leg, torso, and back hair now available for all of your teen Sims and older. Find these new options in the Body section of Create a Sim. Proudly show off those distinct mammalian features.

Create a Sim now offers more options to support the Sexual Orientation of the Sims. Located in the “More Details” section of “Customize Gender,” you can now select the gender identities a Sim is romantically attracted to, whether the Sim is exploring romantically, and the type of Sim they are interested in WooHoo or Messing Around with if they are even interested in Woohoo or Messing Around.

If you do not change these settings, your Sim will maintain the default orientation settings known to The Sims, meaning they’ll have no inherent attraction to a specific gender, their attraction can shift through gameplay, and they will WooHoo or Mess Around with any gender. Check out SimGuruJessica’s deep dive blog about this system to learn the specifics on how each of these options affect the gameplay.

Are you ready to tackle your Sim’s Wants & Fears? This base game update replaces whims and includes a large selection of Wants that your Sims will want to achieve or Fears they want to overcome. This feature is on by default and you can toggle them off in the “Gameplay” options menu.

Builders who feel limited by sharp 90° corners can round out their creativity with this update: Curved Walls are coming to your collection of Build tools!  Place and adjust medium, large, and extra large curved rooms. Builders who are familiar with curved decks, fences, and platforms will find familiar controls for these new walls. Some doors and windows fit better than others, so to find the ones that do work well on these walls, use the new “Supports All Curved Walls” and “Supports Large and X-Large Curved Walls” filters within Build Mode.

BUG FIXES

Consoles

  • On some PlayStation®4 systems, Eco Lifestyle’s Evergreen Harbor had a lot of objects flickering in the environment. We think we have squelched the problem. If you see it, please let us know and provide information about the model of PlayStation and OS version.
  • On Xbox, interacting with Cottage Living’s Chicken Coop no longer causes the cursor to vanish.
  • Closing the Notebook interface now hides its controller legend as well.

The Sims 4

  • Sims can, once again, scoot over to an open side of the bed that is pushed up against the wall.
  • Sims deliver food reliably to toddlers via the “Grab Serving for <toddler>” interaction.
  • Throwing a birthday party for a toddler? Sims now can “Compliment the Birthday Sim” to complete the party if that goal appears.
  • Did you know that your Sims can take care of a Need on their own if you click on the Need in the Needs panel? Give it a whirl! Sims with the Neat Trait now clean themselves when you click on “Hygiene” instead of cleaning their home.
  • Vault Modular Counter maintains its color underneath the dirt when it gets dirty.
  • Sims jog once again when using The MotionMonitor Gaming Mat and PrioPerfection Motion Sensor Game Mat.
  • The “Save” and “Delete” buttons now both appear when mousing over a save slot on the “Save Game” screen.
  • Sims can ask about these Likes and Dislikes without having their own preferences for them: Décor, Color, Hobbies & Skills, and Music.
  • Since Sims in the same household know each other already, they no longer have the option to ask about various Likes and Dislikes. “Ask about Career” is the one exception.
  • When socializing with another Sim, questions related to “Likes and Dislikes” now are grouped together under a category with that name.
  • Your Sims went on a vacation with another household. You just heard through a Neighborhood Story notification that they adopted! That notification now has the name of that household’s home world rather than the vacation world.
  • Placing a Lot from the Gallery defaults to its Lot type instead of asking to change to the location’s Lot type.
  • When you have a window that aligns to the dotted half-tile mark and the window is as wide as its footprint, you now can place another window like that right next to it.
  • Placing a rounded platform within another room now fills in the floor tiling around the curve.
  • Placing Dragonfly Swarm and Mosquitos on ponds now results in dragonflies and mosquitoes, respectively. Bzzzzzzz bzzz….
  • Cars viewed from a distance on low-end computers now look more like cars and less like a newbie woodworking project.
  • That screen that appears when you can choose which Sim to do something with the active Sim… we adjusted the header so longer text does not overlap with the portrait of your Sim.
  • That screen also consistently shows the “Everyone” category now when it pops up.
  • Behind-the-scenes pregnancy tracking has some improvements for better performance and stability.
  • We fixed three types of crashes:
    • [PS4-only] One sometimes happened on PS4 when saving a Lot to My Library.
    • One was related to graphics.
    • And the peskiest one sometimes happened when placing a Retail Lot that had mannequins. Take that, crashes!
  • Promotion Requirements in the Career panel now has a helpful hover-tip.
  • The Lot Challenges icon now has a helpful hover-tip.

Cats and Dogs

  • These curtains now can be placed around windows: Casual Country Curtains, Cozy Country Curtains, and Charming Country Curtains.

Seasons

  • Gnomes placed from the Inventory no longer continue generating seed packets after the Harvestfest ends.

Island Living

  • Children make progress for their Outdoor Adventurer badge when they catch fish or frogs.

Discover University

  • After switching specialization branches in a career, your Sim now earns their well-deserved rewards from that new career.
  • The button to “Go to Class Early” now appears one hour before University classes start.
  • Sims go to University classes early when directed to if they are at their campus.

Eco Lifestyle

  • What, you don’t want to see books among available ingredients for the Juice Fizzing station? Well, okay. Loading ingredients now shows only proper, edible ingredients.
  • Idle animations for enjoying a fizzy drink while seated at a table now play appropriately.
  • Sims can wash off the “Dyed In An Explosion!” moodlet  with a good shower or bath.

Snowy Escape

  • Sims in the Salaryperson career can complete the “Host Phone Conference” task consistently.
  • Drinking the Lifestyle-Go-Poof Potion now actually removes Lifestyles. Go forth and discover your new you!
  • Sims now correctly gain up to three active Lifestyles.
  • Mountain Climb Excursions now start instead of automatically canceling. Let’s go conquer those climbs together!

Cottage Living

  • Specific Chicken Coop variants remain the same color when becoming dirty.
  • Chickens no longer prevent the Egg Hunt Holiday tradition from completing . Rumor is they were collecting all the decorative eggs for themselves.
  • Verdant Mushroom Soup now shows up properly when choosing it from the list of recipes to cook with other Sims and grabbing servings.
  • The color swatches for the long hair with bandana(ymHair_EP11LongBandana)  now match the hair color.

Parenthood

  • Taking anger out on stuffed animal toys now decreases the teen Sim’s Empathy. Meanness has consequences!

Strangerville

  • Error Code 106:7f97032:aa761f01 no longer happens sometimes when traveling to StrangerVille’s Secret Lab.

Journey to Batuu

  • The “Hot Tip” mission for Scoundrels now appropriately asks for five information fragments to be collected.

Dream Home Decorator

  • The capri pants yfBottom_GP10Capri_Solid now appropriately appear as brown when selecting the brown color swatch.

Werewolves

  • Werewolf and Vampire Sims now exit the appropriate tunnel entrances after choosing to ”Explore Underground Tunnels”.

Tiny Living

  • The remote control for Murphy Beds now has the appropriate texture.

Bust the Dust

  • Don’t want to deal with repairing your broken vacuum cleaner yourself? It now has interactions to replace it with a new one or hire a Sim to fix it.
  • Dusty Chaperone Upright Vacuum now sparks when broken.

NEW ADDITIONS

Game Settings Preview
We’ve added a visual preview widget to all Gameplay settings in the Options menu, including HUD, minimap and interactions.
As you toggle between on/off and other choices, the widget will update for each individual selection. Where it makes sense, there are also animations to mimic the gameplay experience.

PC: Nvidia DLSS 2.4.3
We’ve officially deployed DLSS version 2.4.3 with the July patch. We were intentionally using version 2.3.2 since the May Patch because we were aware of some visual issues with version 2.4.3.

Elusive Arcade Tweak
We’ve made a back-end change to Elusive Target Arcade, which allows HITMAN 3 owners to play all existing and future Arcade contracts, regardless of their ownership of HITMAN 1 or HITMAN 2. Previously, players were required to own an ‘Access Pass’ for HITMAN 1 or HITMAN 2 to access the relevant Arcade Contracts.

This change allows us to create Arcade Contracts that are not restricted to targets from the same game. We’re now able to pick and choose from the full roster of available Elusive Targets to create more variety and themes. You’ll see the first of these appear in-game starting in August.

PS5 Activities
We’ve made changes to the ‘Activity Cards’ for PS5 users, so that more relevant ones are shown based on what you own.

FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

Stability Improvements
We’ve improved general stability across all platforms by addressing several issues that could cause the game to crash or freeze.

Unlock Access
We’ve resolved an issue where players would be unable to obtain level mastery or item unlocks if they encountered a server disconnection whilst transitioning between levels, restarting, replanning, exiting to menu or finishing a level. We’ve tweaked several things to prevent this in previous patches and this additional change will make the chances of it happening even smaller.

AWOL HUD
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause some elements of the HUD to disappear if players save their game whilst the mission name / location is displayed on-screen in the opening seconds of a mission.
Note: This fix will only impact Steam and Epic players, whilst the issue remains for other players. Our next patch will fix the issue for everyone else.

Side Flash
We’ve resolved an issue with the HWK 21 Covert pistol, where the muzzle flash was extremely bright and not aligned with the barrel.

Shes Stopped Gurgling
We’ve resolved an issue where NPC’s could get stuck in an endless animation loop after being injected with a sedative syringe.

Ashen Six
We’ve updated the description of the Number Six with Gloves suit. Just in time.

Tropical Sheen
We’ve resolved an issue where the Tropical Suit (Haven Island unlock) was waaay to shiny.

Chongqing Conceal Crash
We’ve fixed a crash that could occur when concealing an item in a trash can, whilst taking cover in a particular location in Chongqing.

Anti-Social
We’ve resolved an issue where the lawyer in Mendoza was holding his phone upside down and the wrong way around.

Photographic Destruction Prevention
We’ve resolved an issue that could prevent players from earning the Silent Assassin rating in the Dubai campaign mission. Specifically, players who were spotted by a camera and then disabled the cameras via the server room terminal would then be unable to ‘erase recordings’ through the ‘normal’ camera recorders.

Meeting Room Master
We’ve resolved an issue where players would be immediately spotted when starting at the Meeting Room in Dubai on Master difficulty level.

Lust Keys
We’ve resolved an issue where players were unable to pick up keys during the Lust Assignation Escalation [7DS].

Most People Never Notice
We’ve ended the conspiracy theories in Berlin and removed the barcode from the back of GuestList Man’s head, aka Ziegler. He was never part of Ort-Meyer’s army and now, he never will be.

FSP Audio
We’ve resolved an issue where the menu music would not resume after viewing a cinematic in the Free Starter Pack.

World of Assassination Fixes

Hokkaido: Snow Festival Suite
We’ve resolved an issue where it wasn’t possible to start the mission in Tobias Rieper’s Suite. Now, this starting location will be unlocked by default.

Stingray: Villa Vision
We’ve resolved several issues that could cause NPCs and (especially!) targets in Haven Island to see through several walls and floors. This was a complicated and tricky issue to address but it seems to have been caused by an AI vision blocker in the door template for this level.

Essentially, whenever NPCs opened a particular door type, they were able to see everywhere within the mansion, regardless of how many floors or walls were in the way. This was especially troublesome if Tyson Williams was involved, because his character animation has him looking down frequently, which meant he could spot 47 several floors down.

Note: Unfortunately, this issue will only be resolved on PC with this patch, and will be included in our next patch for all other players.

Whittleton Creek: Bitter Pill
We’ve resolved an issue where the laser security wires could trigger an alarm, even after players disabled the alarm system. This was occurring after players performed a save/load cycle.

Sniper Elite 5 Update 1.08 Pushed Out for Bug Fixes This July 26 (Update)

Rebellion has fired out Sniper Elite 5 update 1.08 on all platforms today, and it’s a rather meaty download, though it doesn’t include new content. Read up on what’s new in the Sniper Elite 5 July 26 patch notes.

Sniper Elite 5 Update 1.08 Patch Notes | Sniper Elite 5 July 26 Patc Notes:

Size: 44GB (PC)

Update: Rebellion has released the official patch notes for what the studio calls Update 1.21! Read on for the new content and more!

New Sniper Elite 5 Content

⭐ Added free ‘Flooded Village’ multiplayer map

The new Multiplayer map “Flooded Village” pits players against one another across the vast fields and paths of a rural farming village that’s been intentionally flooded in order to prevent allied aircraft from landing. Flooded Village can be played in all multiplayer modes, including No Cross and boasts the longest shots so far in SE5’s multiplayer to date. There are plenty of vantage points to be found here and more mobile players will find a number of useful flanking routes.

⭐ Added a ‘Shooting Range’

We’ve added a new Shooting Range’ area that contains everything you need in order to fine tune your arsenal prior to entering the field. There are a number of ranges that contain targets at known distances, so you can get the hang of ‘zeroing’ your scope, try out different attachments and build optimal loadouts for each of the game modes. You can access different loadouts, game modes and difficulty settings via and in game workbench, which can be found next to each of the ranges. The Shooting Range itself can be accessed from the main menu.

⭐ Invite your friends to join as Invaders using the social menu

We’ve added a much requested feature that allows players that have been invited to games via the ‘Invite Code’ system to choose to join as an enemy Invader or a co-operative partner.
Added Support for ‘Landing Force’ Mission and Weapon Pack (D.L. Carbine, PPSH, ‘Landing Force’ Mission)

⭐ Added support for ‘Kick Voting’

During multiplayer matches, any player can now start a vote to kick another player via the ‘player card’. Other players are then notified, and are able to vote. If a player hasn’t voted by the time the timer expires, it counts as a ‘no’, There are cooldown timers preventing a single player from initiating new votes against lots of different players. You also can’t kick a player if the result would be an empty team. Results are calculated as a simple majority.

⭐ Mark as “Ready” to start sooner

Players entering multiplayer lobbies now have a ‘Ready’ checkbox they can freely toggle on/off. When the majority of players have confirmed they’re ready, a countdown timer will be auto initiated (in custom lobbies). If all players are ready, any active timer is dramatically shortened (quickmatch and custom lobbies). In either case, the game will start when the timer expires.

Currently, Rebellion has not released the official list of changes and fixes just yet, but the community has weighed in on it and confirmed that it’s mostly for bug fixes.

According to Steam users, there are a handful of fixes in multiplayer, inclusion of a Shooting Range and that’s it. On the known issues thread, which was last updated on June 27, here are the ones listed by Rebellion:

Known Issues:

  • M08 St Nazaire, Kill list challenge failed before killing the target – Please note, this is just a visual error, so if the objective is not yet completed then the challenge is not actually failed and can still be achieved.
  • Alarms are not turning off as expected once triggered by enemy AI
  • No Stone Unturned Achievement Not Unlocking – As a short-term fix, using the loud/explosive methods instead of the stealth ones will unlock this achievement.
  • Missing Crosshairs – Initial investigations appear to show this issue is caused by too little VRAM (e.g. under the 4gb min spec). As a temporary solution, we suggest reducing the texture quality settings to see if that helps (e.g. start at LOW).
  • GPU Device was lost – A small number of players seem to be experiencing an issue which throws up the GPU Device was lost error. We are aware of the problem and are investigating.
  • Windows Store Crash – (On Steam for Visibility purposes) – Windows Store Crash – We are still investigating the 20006 Windows error appearing for some players. If this is happening to you, we advise carrying out the following steps:
    – Check One: Head to Sniper Elite 5 in the Xbox App – Head to the three dots – Click manage – Then Files – Then select Verify and repair – Hit yes
    – Check Two: Ensure your Xbox App is completely up to date
    – Check Three: If that still doesn’t work, unticking ‘Use EAC’ in the options menu accessed via the cog, and running as admin via the start menu to allow access. We think this could be a platform issue for those who pre-installed so would recommend uninstalling and installing again if the above does not resolve the issue. As a final note, we’re now asking players if Sniper Elite 5 is saved to C:XboxGames. Knowing this would greatly help our investigation.
  • Performance Issues – We are aware of multiple reports of gameplay appearing to ‘stutter’ and frame rates dropping despite playing above Minimum Spec. If this is something you are experiencing, please TRIPLE check you’re playing above minimum spec (if playing on PC) and try running on DX12, Not Vulkan:What are the minimum PC requirements?
    Minimum Specifications are as follows:
    OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel CPU Core i3-8100 (or AMD equivalent)
    Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: DirectX12 capable GPU with 4GB VRAM
    Storage: 85GB

Chances are, we’ll see the official patch notes surface later today, and once we do, we’ll be sure to update the post. If you want to see the newest patch released before today, which include a ton of fixes, head on over here.

Update: Rebellion has released the official patch notes and we’ve updated the post.
