It’s time for a bit of a history lesson, as the latest video for Marvel’s Midnight Suns takes a deep look into the long comic history of the first Avenger himself, Captain America.

While we just got gameplay reveal yesterday for Captain America, it seems that Marvel’s Midnight Suns developers, Firaxis Games, aren’t done yet with the character as they have published a new video, this time focusing on his comic history.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Captain America Lore Video

And yes, that was the voice of Benny over at Comicstorian!

When the demonic Lilith and her fearsome horde unite with the evil armies of Hydra, it’s time to unleash Marvel’s dark side.

As The Hunter, your mission is to lead an unlikely team of seasoned Super Heroes and dangerous supernatural warriors to victory.

Can legends such as Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Blade put aside their differences in the face of a growing apocalyptic threat?

If you’re going to save the world, you’ll have to forge alliances and lead the team into battle as the legendary Midnight Suns.

With an array of upgradeable characters and skills allowing you to build your own unique version of The Hunter, you will choose how to send Lilith’s army back to the underworld.

Battlefield 3 Reality Mod Release Locked for July 17, Explosive New Trailer Features a More Serious Affair

Over the past two years, we’ve reported on a fan-made Battlefield 3 mod that gives gamers a more grounded, serious take on the franchise called the Battlefield 3 Reality Mod (as Battlefield vets can see, it is inspired by the Battlefield 2 mod Project Reality). Today, we have some good news, as not only do we have a new trailer, but the dev team has announced Battlefield 3 Reality Mod release is now set for July 17!

Players will need to own Battlefield 3’s base game and all of the DLC on PC in order to check this mod out, but given how cheap that is nowadays, I say it’s worth a plunge! If you ever wanted a more Arma take on Battlefield, or perhaps a Battlefield game with Rainbow Six-like gunplay, then this might be just what the doctor ordered!

Battlefield 3 Reality Mod Release Date Trailer:

7 years of development, more than 80 contributors. What we have achieved is absolute madness! We are super stoked to finally be releasing BF3: Reality Mod on the 17th of July!

— BF3: Reality Mod —

BF3: Reality Mod is a BF3 modification that focuses on communication and teamwork. It draws inspiration from the successful BF2 “Project Reality” mod. It offers a complete gameplay and UI overhaul that creates a more tactical and meaningful experience.

— Server License Applications —

Important: Only established communities can apply for a license. Information and sign up form can be found in our Discord “Server License Application”-Channel.

— Venice Unleashed —

Reality Mod is built using the VU modding framework, a modification of BF3 that as well as modding offers private server hosting, higher tickrate, built-in server browser and much more. For more info visit their webpage: www.playvu.com

Note that this is in no way, shape or form endorsed by EA or DICE, so don’t expect any support from both the studio and the publisher in case you run into any modding issues and whatnot.

You can learn more about the game via its website or by its Discord channel.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation Delisted & to Be Unplayable Even to Owners Starting September 1 on Steam (Update)

If you own Assassin’s Creed Liberation on Steam and have yet to finish it, you might want to do so soon, as the game isn’t just being delisted on the platform, it will even be inaccessible to everyone starting September 1!

Update: A Ubisoft rep has issued a statement to MP1st stating that Assassin’s Creed Liberation can still be played on Steam be it the standalone title, or the one included in the AC3 Remastered bundle.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered isn’t affected by the online services decommission, including the Assassin’s Creed Liberation and DLC included as part of that remaster.

Players can definitely still play AC Liberation on Steam.

As stated in our support article, only DLCs and online features will be affected by the upcoming decommissioning. Current owners of those games will still be able to access, play or redownload them. Our teams are working with our partners to update this information across all storefronts and are also assessing all available options for players who will be impacted when these games’ online services are decommissioned on September 1st, 2022. It has always been our intention to do everything in our power to allow those legacy titles to remain available in the best possible conditions for players, and this is what we are working towards.

Original Story:

This notice was posted on the Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD Steam page where the following was posted:

Yep, this means that even if you already own the game, you won’t be able to play it on Steam to complete it, which sucks, given, y’know, people paid for the game and all.

While hardly the jewel in the franchise’s long list of releases, AC Liberation was originally released on the PlayStation Vita back in 2012, and ties into Assassin’s Creed 3. It featured a black female protagonist, which is a first for the franchise, and saw an HD re-release on consoles and PC in 2014.

Here’s a description of the game over on Steam:

Introducing Assassin’s Creed® Liberation HD, the striking chapter of the pre-American Revolution Assassin’s Creed saga which arrives for the first time on HD consoles and PC. With improved gameplay, a deeper story, and HD graphics, Liberation is an immersive and full Assassin’s Creed experience.

This is yet another reason why owning digital games is frowned upon by some consumer groups, as you technically never own the game themselves given this thing can happen. While it’s fairly common for games to be delisted on digital storefronts, the title being unplayable completely is not. Let’s hope this isn’t the start of a trend, as it’ll seriously put a dent in anyone’s digital games library.

We’ve reached out to Ubisoft regarding this, and whether there’s a workaround planned or something. Also, whether the Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered bundle that includes Liberation will be affected.

Thanks, Stomphulk!

Overwatch 2 Mercy and Symmetra Changes Incoming After Beta Feedback

If you’re part of the Overwatch 2 beta, and you’ve noticed a drop-off in people playing Mercy and Symmetra, you’re not far off. Blizzard has acknowledged the feedback regarding the two heroes, and have announced that changes are incoming for both!

Incoming Mercy Changes:

Blizzard has touched on how Mercy’s “super jump” which was a move found in OW1, was an unintentional ability. Given how community embraced this bug, and it didn’t exactly break the game, the studio decided to incorporate it into Mercy’s moveset officially in Overwatch 2. However, things haven’t gone according to plan, and here are some of the changes incoming to Mercy:

After the patch, Guardian Angel will not automatically launch Mercy into the air, but it will now have a meter that charges while the ability is active. When cancelling Guardian Angel with Jump, Mercy will now be launched into the direction she is facing. The more charge she gets during the ability, the more momentum the launch has when she cancels it with Jump. We’re looking forward to seeing how the community engages with this ability in the beta to get Mercy ready for the Overwatch 2 launch!

Incoming Symmetra Changes:

This is a tough one, as Symmetra’s complete gameplay style as a hero seems to be contradicting what Overwatch 2’s mantra is all about. There are less tanks on the field which means that Symmetra’s weapon has less charge and thus deals less damage. Check out some of the planned changes coming to this DPS hero:

  • Secondary Fire projectile size increased from .4 back to .5
  • Secondary Fire charge time reduced from 1.2 seconds back to 1 second
  • Teleporter cooldown reduced from 16 seconds to 12 seconds

Additionally, we have another change for her in mind that we’re currently testing internally. This iteration charges her primary fire beam to level 3 faster to help compensate for less tanks and shields to charge it up. We’re not sure if this change will stick, but our goal is to make Symmetra feel more natural in Overwatch 2.

Note that these changes are not permanent given we are in the beta phase and all, so expect continued tweaks to come both the heroes’ (and other heroes’) way as the beta progresses.

Blizzard has also mentioned that they are looking into Zenyatta and Sojourn as two heroes that might need to be “tuned down” a bit before launch, so expect more on that soon.

Report: Cancelled Halo VR Project Details and Concept Images Surface

While 343 Industries is gearing up for Halo Infinite’s co-op campaign beta, did you know that there was once plans for a Halo VR project? Details and even concept art and the like have surfaced recently thanks to 343 Industries dev Dan Chosich.

Chosich, is the Narrative Experience Director over at at 343 Industries, and has recently updated his own personal website to showcase what could have been a Halo VR game which was codenamed “Reverie.” Based on the site, it seems the project never got past the concept phase (and seems to be planned for Infinite), though there are concept shots and even control configurations mapped out. We’ve included some in the gallery below alongside an explanation by Chosich in his involvement with the project, and why it didn’t pan out.

This page is expressing some of the thinking and challenges we were trying to solve. Turns out, especially in 2017, there were a lot of hard challenges to overcome with VR. Most prominently the fact that it was only available to a small subset of people.

For me, the biggest problem was the lack of being able to move freely. However, there were a few examples that were never public from some companies we interviewed that showed an extreme amount of promise.

Strangely, my advantage on this project was that I was highly skeptical of it. I didn’t like 95% of the experiences in VR because they weren’t repeatable destinations. Cool to do once and never again. That was something I wanted to solve. – Dan Chosich, 343 Narrative Experience Director

For those curious, we did get a glimpse of what Halo VR would be like in this video created by 343 Industries and Halo MCC engineer Nibre_ that was shared way back in 2019:

While this might come as a bummer for those expecting to play as Master Chief in virtual reality, this doesn’t really confirm that no Halo VR project is being made, so there’s still hope yet.

Would you be interested in a Halo virtual reality game? Given how the Xbox consoles out right now doesn’t support VR, that would mean it’d be PC-only, which is something I suspect a lot of Xbox owners will be upset about.

Thanks, Rebs Gaming!

Guilty Gear Strive Season 2 Survey Sent Out by Arc System Works

While Arc System Works hasn’t announced anything regarding Season 2 of the fighting game, it seems that might be changing soon, as the studio has started sending out a Guilty Gear Strive Season 2 survey out to players via email.

Those interested, you can take the survey for yourself here. In it, Arc System Works asks gamers whether they won the Season Pass, why they didn’t buy it, what they want to see in Season 2 and more. There are also general questions asking what age range you’re in, what platform you use to play Guilty Gear Strive on, etc. We’ve included some of the pertinent questions regarding Season 2 via images.

The survey also asks feedback about the replay, gallery and fishing modes, as well as what do players think of the main story campaign. This is a rather lengthy survey, though it seems to be more specific than your generic video game ones, which is good (in my opinion).

Arc System Works has been rather busy with Guilty Gear Strive, as not only are the devs sending out surveys, but they’ve been pretty consistent with title updates as well, with the latest one released just this July 1.

If you still haven’t tried Guilty Gear Strive yet, it’s a must-play for fighting game fans, as our review gave it a super solid 9/10, and our own Jimmy Lara said, “chance you will undoubtedly come to love Strive for what it is and not for what it should be. The heart of the Guilty Gear franchise beats strongly in Strive, showing in it’s insanely fun gameplay, and lavishing visuals that puts this as one of the most well crafted fighters to date.”

Thanks,Neoxon!

Skyrim Multiplayer Co-Op Mod “Together Reborn” Finally Released

Three years ago, a small passionate team of modders released a Skyrim multiplayer mod dubbed “Skyrim Together” that allowed players to play Skyrim with cooperative play. It received plenty of attention, and for the most part was a success. However, it was soon shortly discovered that the team had knowingly used stolen code from another modder, thus prompting an apology and a promise that they would be back with a completely free, and open-source version of the mod. Well, that day has finally come, as the team has released the overhaul version of the mod, Skyrim Together Reborn.

Downloadable via NexusMod, the Skyrim multiplayer mod, Skyrim Together Reborn, features 2-8  player co-op with the full campaign playable.

Skyrim Together Reborn is a passion project, created through the work of a small team of volunteers. The aim of the mod is to develop a true Skyrim multiplayer experience that brings online multiplayer into this otherwise strictly single player game. Our focus is to create a co-op like experience for about 2-8 players, not an MMO but we have tested with 30+ players. We only support the latest patches of Special Edition and Anniversary Edition, that is any version 1.6.x.

They go on to warn that while the mod is playable, it is without its faults, as this is after all created from a small team of fans. That means you should expect to see bugs, including crashes, so play at your own risk.

We are not a game development studio. We do not have any resources, our team mostly consists of students, we do all of this in our free time, and we do not take any donations. All things considered, you should manage your expectations before jumping into one of our mods. Our mods are not perfect. They will occasionally crash, some quests will break, there will be bugs. This is not fixable. This is just the reality of making a multiplayer mod instead of having a massive studio like Bethesda make a multiplayer game. Still, it is playable and it is a lot of fun.

How to Install Skyrim Together Reborn Mod

Down below you’ll find a full video walkthrough on how to install the Skyrim Together Reborn mod.

This is all pretty awesome, and definitely makes the journey into Skyrim well worth taking again. Might be worth a shot, though if you are more of a Fallout fan there is some good news as the team is also developing a Fallout multiplayer mod called Fallout Together. Hopefully we hear more on that real soon now that the Skyrim multiplayer mod is released.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Players Won’t Visit Locations in Exact Order as Original; Shift to PS5 Made Development Much Smoother

Just last month, Square Enix finally unveiled the second chapter in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. While there’s no release date available yet, Square Enix has slowly been trickling info out regarding the game and its development.

Speaking to Japanese gaming site Dengeki Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Executive Producer Yoshinori Kitase, Producer Mariko Sato, and Creatuve Director Tetsuya Nomura talked a bit about the game’s development, and even some gameplay-related details too. Kitase and Nomura confirmed that players shouldn’t expect to visit locations in the same order as in the original FF7 in Rebirth, though nothing has been omitted, but rather, just the order of when you’ll visit specific locations that were changed.

Kitase: I can’t reveal the specific scope of the story, but there are no major events from the original version that are missing from the entire story. However, in “FFVII REBIRTH” you will not necessarily visit the locations that appeared in the original version in the exact same order. Some locations are visited in a different order.

Nomura: It’s just that the order in which you visit the locations has changed, but don’t worry, it doesn’t mean that some locations have been lost entirely.

In the same interview, the devs mentioned that the actual development time on the game hasn’t taken three years, as the studio spent one year making Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade and the PC version of Remake. Speaking of which, the fact that FF7 Rebirth is coming only to PS5 was a good thing for the dev team, as Kitase notes taht shifting development to the PS5 environment made developing Rebirth easier.

Kitase: The fact that we produced “FFVII REMAKE INTERGRADE” after “FFVII REMAKE” also had an impact. Thanks to the shift to the PS5 environment there, development of “FFVII REBIRTH” went smoothly

Kitase: As I mentioned in my developer message, the development speed is truly astonishing for a title of this scale. After “FFVII REMAKE” was created, we spent about a year developing the PC version and “FFVII REMAKE INTERGRADE,” and then started work on “FFVII REBIRTH,” so the actual development period was less than three years.

Elsewhere in the interview, Nomura confirmed that the 3D models for the characters remain unchanged from FF7 Remake to Rebirth other than Yuffie’s, which was modified from Intergrade (though some characters were adjusted).

Finally, the studio confirmed that the closing chapter in the trilogy will also start with an “R,” so make your guesses now! I think it’ll be “Reborn” but that’s just a hunch.

Those seeking for the latest reward in Destiny 2’s weekly PvP mode, MP1st is here to bring the new Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and map this week July 8, 2022 edition! Check out what you can win, and this weekend’s map pick.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week July 8, 2022:

Trials of Osiris Map

Javelin-4

Rewards

  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism (3)
  • Reputation Rank 10: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 16: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Flawless Reward: Reed’s Regret (Adept)

Reputation System, Trials Engrams, and Adept Farming

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be taken to Master Rahool for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

Passages

Name Perk Cost
Passage of Ferocity Your third match win grants a bonus win. 10000 Glimmer & 15 Legendary Shards
Passage of Mercy Forgives one loss per run. 10000 Glimmer & 15 Legendary Shards

What’s a Xûr?

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who randomly appears in a Public Sector on one of the Worlds. Xûr sells Exotic equipment and only takes Legendary Shards in exchange for them.

TL;DR: He’s the Santa Claus of Destiny and every weekend is Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want, sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it’s coal.

When does Xûr visit?

Xûr visits every Friday at 17:00 UTC and departs at Weekly Reset (Tuesday 17:00 UTC). If you would like to see all the live conversions of Time Zones, please follow this link here.

‘The DioField Chronicle’ Release Date and Pre-Order Details Revealed

Square Enix has finally announced the release date and pre-order details for their upcoming The DioField Chronicle game. The all-new strategy RPG game is officially coming to PC and consoles on September 22.

The game was originally announced back in March of 2022 in a Square Enix live stream. Players will soon have the chance to try out the game more than a month in advance on August 10 when its demo releases.

The era of myths gives way to an era of great turmoil… The world of men is mired in an age of war which rages for year on end. A band of elite mercenaries calling themselves Blue Fox arise amidst the flames and the chaos, their fates and valiant deeds to be sung of in ages yet to come. But when all is said and done, will the name “Blue Fox” come to signify hope or darkest tragedy?

Pre-ordering the digital deluxe version of the game will grant players the Rhopasto Knife weapon, the Recruit’s Bangle accessory, and early access to the game which will begin on September 20.

The game’s collector’s edition is also now available for pre-order in Japan and North American stores.  It costs $169.99 and is available on all platforms except for PC. The collector’s edition includes a set of pins with four coats of arms representing that game’s four groups. It will also include  The DioField Chronicle Board Game, an official competitive board game that takes place in the world of the video game.

The DioField Chronicle is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 20, 2022. Early access on September 20 is only available for those who pre-order the digital deluxe edition.

Bloodhunt Summer Update Out on July 14 and Includes 8v8 Deathmatch, Sharkmob to Focus on Smaller, More Frequent Updates

Sharkmob has quite a treat for those partaking in the carnage for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodhunt, as the studio has announced the Bloodhunt Summer Update is due for release this July 14! Not only will it bring new cosmetics into the game, but players will also see the introduction of the 8v8 Team Deathmatch mode as well.

In the press release, Sharkmob gave an overview of what players can expect from the upcoming update to the free-to-play battle royale alongside a new trailer.

Summer Update overview

  • New Game mode – Team DeathMatch (Beta) coming 14th July 2022. Two teams of 8v8 will battle each other with unlimited respawns and the first team to reach the score limit wins. This new game mode will have five unique areas in Prague as battle grounds including; Slaughterhouse, Disco, Hotel, Construction and Harbor.
  • Special SUMMER PASS offer – 100+ new items for 600 Tokens (around 5,99 USD)
  • New map locations – Ventrue train added to the Train Station location and Rudolfinum got the attic opened up with 3 new roof entrances and some other smaller tweaks to the interior layout.
  • Elysium – The Ventrue area, previously locked in Elysium, is now open. Players will be able to meet Em, the Ventrue primogen, and to get quests from her. Toreador Maia’s nightclub has opened, this is a perfect area for players to show off their vampire persona.
  • New Melee weapons – Knife and crowbar
  • Minor and major bug fixes – These will include the infamous reload and red gas bugs, higher graphical fidelity, updated character rigging, PS5 controller improvements and performance improvements.

Sharkmob has also announced that they are moving away from the traditional seasonal model found in other battle royale games. Instead, the studio will focus on rolling out smaller, more regular updates.

Here’s what David Sirland, Live Producer of Bloodhunt, had to say:

“As a team, we have decided to move away from the traditional seasons model within Battle Royale games, and instead we will be focussing on giving players smaller, more regular updates. “We feel that sustaining seasons in the typical way is not what works for our relatively small team so we want to challenge the norm by releasing updates much faster than previously planned but in smaller chunks.”

Bloodhunt is out now on the PS5 and PC.
