Ghostwire Tokyo Update 1.004 Drops for Tanabata Emote and More This June 29

Tango Gameworks has rolled out Ghostwire Tokyo update 1.004, which is called the Tanaba update, and adds a new emote alongside bug fixes and other features. Read on for the Ghostwire Tokyo June 29 patch notes.

Ghostwire Tokyo Update 1.004 Patch Notes | Ghostwire Tokyo June 29 Patch Notes:

In this update, you can make wishes of your own with the Tanabata Wishes emote, available to all players!
This update also includes some additional game adjustments and bug fixes.

TANABATA

Tanabata is the story of two star-crossed lovers: Princess Orihime, daughter of the God of the Sky; and Hikoboshi, a simple cattle farmer, separated by the Heavenly River, but fated to meet for one night a year: the 7th day of the 7th month.
The origins of this story lie in the real twin stars Vega and Altair, and the “Heavenly River” that separates them is our own Milky Way galaxy.
With the Tanabata Wishes emote, Akito and KK look to the stars with a bamboo tree and sasakazari (lit. “hanging decorations”) next to them.

CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS
  • Added new “Film Grain” and “Color-Fringe” options under video settings
BUG FIXES

All Platforms
  • Adjusted the behavior of some emotes
  • Adjusted the effects of certain emotes when using them on uneven terrain
  • Adjusted lighting during emotes
  • Made adjustments to rotating Akito on the Inventory screen
  • Adjusted lighting for the “Inugami Mummy” collectible
PlayStation 5 Fixes
  • Fixed progression issues for the following side missions:
    • Haunting Visions (corrected auto save issue)
    • A Doll’s Last Rites
    • Strung with a Curse
PC Fixes
  • Improved overall performance
That’s it for this patch. If you haven’t given the game a go yet, go read our review where we state, “Tango Gameworks manages to embalm it’s player in a beautiful and enticing world that is known as Ghostwire: Tokyo. There is a sense of the unknown that shrouds this new, and interesting universe, and while I may have some issues, ultimately I believe the studio has laid out a solid foundation, for what is hopefully a start to a beautiful franchise.”

MAP UPDATE – TRADE DISTRICT

Dev Commentary

Trade District is the last of the Magistrate city maps to receive the visual upgrade we began with the Magistrate’s Archives map. The buildings have all been updated to the signature Magistrate aesthetic, dark metal, and stonework with red accents, and the overall map has been made into a much more urban environment. Tightly packed row houses and soaring spires line the streets. Care has been taken to add additional shops to the map and improve existing ones. Flowerbeds have been added throughout the map as accents to the imposing buildings to create a more inviting space. All throughout the map, areas have been opened up to offer a glimpse of the city beyond this district, making the world feel as though it extends far beyond the bounds of the play space. In the distance silhouetted by the sunset, keen-eyed players will spot the imposing towers of Stone Keep keeping watch over the city below. We hope players enjoy exploring this reimagining of Trade District.

GENERAL UPDATES

Dev Commentary

We’ve done several things in this patch to improve the experience for all players, but with an emphasis on New Players in particular. Between updating our free Champion roster, unifying the Ability order across several screens, and allowing players to toggle Auto-Buy on and off in the Item store, it should be easier than ever to get your friends into Paladins. We’ve got love for our existing players as well, though. Namely, we’ve brought several new options to Custom Games, so you can truly customize them more than ever before!

Expanded Custom Game Options

  • We’ve added the following as Advance Settings in Custom Games:
    • Disable Health Regen
    • Global Cooldown Reduction
    • Global Movement Speed
    • In-hand Attack: Damage Amplifier
    • Starting Credits
    • Ultimate Cooldown

Item Store Auto-Buy

  • Players will now be able to re-enable or disable Auto-Buy as they wish during a match, from within the Item Store menu.

Unified Ability Order

  • The new HUD ability order default  for both centered and uncentered is:
    • In-hand | Offhand | Ability 1 | Ability 2 | Ultimate
  • Existing accounts will have the order they’re used to preserved as either Legacy Centered or Legacy Uncentered.
  • The out-of-match Champion screen and in-match Ability Info screen will match the new default order.

Update Free Champion Roster

  • We’ve replaced a few Champions with ones that are more new-player friendly. Players who owned them previously will be awarded them (so no one will lose a Champion they have masteries/skins for), but new players will instead have access to the new set.
  • Cassie is no longer free, but Tiberius is instead. Ruckus is no longer free, but Khan is instead, and we’ve added Ash as a free Champion as well. Jenos is no longer free, but Furia is instead.
  • Ash and Furia have been removed from the Gold Edition, and Jenos has been added.
  • Khan and Tiberius have been removed from the Deluxe Edition, and Ruckus and Cassie have been added.

NBA 2K22 Update 1.017 Hits the Court for Next-Gen This June 28 (Update 2)

Visual Concepts has released NBA 2K22 update 1.017, which is out on last-gen and next-gen platforms. This is another big download, which shouldn’t surprise anyone. Read on for the NBA 2K22 PS5 and Xbox Series X patch notes.

NBA 2K22 Update 1.017 Patch Notes | NBA 2K22 PS5 and Xbox Series X Update Patch Notes for June 28:

Size: 26GB. 39GB(Xbox)

Update 2: Visual Concepts has confirmed via tweet that the patch is prep for Season 8, so don’t expect any patch notes, folks!

Update: Visual Concepts has announced that Season 8 starts July 1, which means this patch is centered around that. While we’ve included the details regarding Season 8 below, the devs have not issued an update yet on whether there are gameplay-related changes included in today’s title update roll out.

NBA 2K22 Season 8 honors Shaq’s legendary combination of raw athleticism and finesse that dominated from coast to coast, showing fans that greatness is earned, not given. This Season also introduces many exciting new updates to MyCAREER and MyTEAM. More updates include:

  • MyCAREER introduces new courts, new apparel, new rewards, and more. Players who reach Level 30 can zip around The City and Cancha Del Mar in an all-new Slime Skin for their Go-Karts, and Level 40 players can dash through MyCAREER in a brand new pair of Dash2K I winged shoes. Additionally, players can deck themselves out in Season 8’s all-gold NBA Finals-themed gear, including Gold Goggles, Gold Basketball Jersey, Gold Long Shorts, Gold Arm Sleeve, Gold Hat, Gold Tee, and a Gold Suit;
  • MyTEAM this Season will focus on some of the players who have made the biggest impact on the community over the last decade. Additionally, this Season adds End Game Jokic, Invincible Dr. J in Token Market, Invincible Dominique Wilkins as a reward for 2000 wins in Triple Threat, and more. Updates also include a Kobe and Shaq Pack at launch and brand new signature challenges centered around AI, Kobe, MJ, and LeBron. Lastly, a final Domination tier will be added to MyTEAM, where players can compete for End Game James Harden;
  • The W* features former WNBA stars-turned coaches in Sheri Sam and Taj McWilliams-Franklin. In Season 8, players can lean on their basketball expertise and knowledge to reach the Hall of Fame tier to be rewarded with their contacts, including a Takeover Perk Picker. Players can also earn 2K Breakthrough Gear, an Extra Point Badge, 4,000 total VC, a Seasonal Clothing Bundle, and exclusive W Gear.

As per the norm, Visual Concepts has yet to release the official patch notes, and we don’t expect that to be released until the afternoon (Pacific Time), which is par for the course for the studio.

As for the recent updates on social media, we do know that Season 7: Return of Heroes will be ending this Friday:

The latest patch released before this one was to prep for Season 7, which was released on May 19. Read on here for the gameplay-related improvements included in that title update.

We’re checking the game’s subreddit to see if there are any noticeable gameplay-related changes, and once we find any, we’ll update the post.  If you notice anything, be it technical or gameplay-related, leave a comment below to let us know. Could this be tied to the Golden State Warriors’ wining the chip this year? We’ll know later on in the day.

Once the official patch notes are out, we’ll be sure to update the post, so check back throughout the day to find out what’s new.

Enlisted Update 1.43 Out for Several Changes This June 29

Darkflow Software has released the Enlisted update 1.43 (PS5 version 1.000.103) today for several gameplay changes. A lot of bug fixes have also been implemented to improve the game. You can check out the full Enlisted June 29 update patch notes below.

Enlisted Update 1.43 Patch Notes | Enlisted Update 1.000.103 | Enlisted June 29 Update Patch Notes:

Each update of “Making Enlisted a Better Place” focuses on a certain aspect of the game or a particular mechanic in which we’ve fixed bugs or have added interesting features.

The improvements are mostly or even completely based on the feedback you have left in the special topics and discussions on our forums and social media platforms.

THEY DESTROYED YOUR RALLY POINT!

And now you will get the intel immediately, just like you asked for. We have added a notification when your Engineer rally point is destroyed, as it is strategically essential both for the whole team and for your engineer point balance that you get for each respawn at the rally point.

AMMO FOR THE TROPHY GUNS

Trophy weapons can now be replenished from enemy ammo boxes. As many magazines as your soldier can actually carry will be added to your inventory – this depends on the availability of ammo bags.

The hunt for good enemy guns is now open!

FULL LIST OF CHANGES

  • Added a notification after the destruction of a player-built rally point.
  • Trophy weapons can now be replenished from the enemy ammo boxes.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the AI-soldiers to fall through the environment models in some cases.
  • Fixed a bug where the camera after death could fly away from the place of the soldier’s death instead of facing the direction of his killer.
  • Previously, the camera after death would show the enemy that did the most damage to you. Now it will show the killer himself.
  • Fixed disappearance of the point capturing progress display, which could happen when switching to another squad member on a strategic point.
  • Removed the limit of 10 respawns for the whole battle from missions in Conquest mode. Now respawns are not limited.

That’s it for the patch notes. Enlisted is out now for the PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One platforms.

Overwatch 2 on Next-Gen Supports 120fps, Different Peformance Modes and VRR

For those curious how Blizzard Entertainment is taking advantage of the next-gen consoles’ power for Overwatch 2, players will be able to play the game on 120fps (frames-per-second), alongside other features that aren’t present on last-gen consoles.

Aside from Overwatch 2 being able to run at 120fps, players will also be able to choose different performance modes on the next-gen version of the game, and it’ll even support (on a system level) VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) too.

We checked whether Overwatch 2 was able to run at 120fps after Reddit user packersfan1290 posted it.on the game’s subreddit. Well, true enough, here’s what our captured image shows:

Image

As for the different peformance modes, players will be able to choose between “Resolution,” “Framerate” and “Balanced.” as shown in the featured image above. Again, this is only for next-gen consoles, as last-gen won’t have this feature in the options menu (we checked).

Speaking of the beta, Blizzard rolled out a day-one update for it, which include changes to heroes, and loads more! Even if you’ve played the earlier beta, you’ll want to read the patch notes for the changes

Don’t forget to read this long Q&A by Blizzard regarding Overwatch 2, where the studio confirmed that a new “main” currency is going to be used in Overwatch 2, alongside auto-aim questions and loads more!

Overwatch 2’s PvP component will be released this October 4, and will be free-to-play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Stay tuned here on MP1st as we’ll have more news regarding Overwatch 2 and the beta soon!

Overwatch 2 Beta Update for June 28 Lists Hero Changes and Loads More

For those lucky enough to get in, the Overwatch 2 beta with crossplay is kicking off today! While most players are diving in to the hero shooter sequel for the first time, Blizzard has rolled out the Overwatch 2 beta update for June 28, which included quite a long list of changes to the earlier beta that kicked off two months ago (which MP1st was invited to).

There are changes to heroes, the ping system, and loads more!

Overwatch 2 Beta Update for June 28 Patch Notes:

Console and Cross-Play Testing

The Overwatch 2 Beta will be cross platform and available to players on Windows® PC and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, and PlayStation®4 consoles.

Our primary goal for the Overwatch 2 Beta is to test our console and cross-play capabilities. Players from different platforms can play with and against each other. This gives the team the opportunity to stress-test our game and see what players from different platforms think about Overwatch 2!

Temporary Change to Quick Play

With Competitive Play currently unavailable in the OW2 beta, we’ve made a temporary modification to our Quick Play queue, providing both Role Queue and Open Queue as options. Quick Play games will also use competitive rulesets for each map’s game mode. For Hybrid and Payload maps, both teams play Offense AND Defense in the same manner as competitive play, with the winner determined by which team performs better on offense. All other features of Quick Play are unchanged. This includes elements such as matchmaking, handling of leaves, and allowing players to backfill into games in progress.

NEW HERO

JUNKER QUEEN

Scatter Gun (Primary Fire)
  • Pump Action Shotgun

Jagged Blade (Secondary Fire)
  • Active: Throw the blade and re-activate to pull it back, along with any impaled enemy
  • Passive: Wound enemies with Quick Melee or Throw, dealing damage over time

Commanding Shout (Ability 1)
  • Temporarily increase health and movement speed for yourself and nearby allies

Carnage (Ability 2)
  • Wound all enemies in front of you, dealing damage over time

Adrenaline Rush (Passive)
  • Heal from all damage over time dealt by wounds

Rampage (Ultimate)
  • Charge forward and wound enemies; dealing damage over time and preventing them from being healed

NEW FEATURES

New Hero Looks

All heroes have new Overwatch 2 exclusive looks. Select “Classic II” from the Skin select screen in the Hero Gallery to check them out.

Dynamic Rendering Scale

Added “Dynamic Render Scale” to PC to improve performance when GPU limited.

  • If Dynamic Render Scale is enabled, “Render Scale” can be set to “Custom” and supersedes the previous “Limit FPS” option, allowing for the ability to specify a minimum and maximum resolution scale:
    • Minimum resolution can be lowered to improve performance
    • Maximum resolution can be increased to improve visual fidelity

UPDATED FEATURES

Push
  • Total game time extended from 8 minutes to 10 minutes

PING SYSTEM

New Hero Pings
  • Symmetra can now ping her teleporters for her allies
  • Ana now has unique ping VO and visuals when pinging sleeping enemies
  • Junkrat can now ping the location of enemies in his traps through walls
    • This places a unique type of unmoving Last Seen ping
Ping Visual Updates
  • Ping icon visuals updated but are still a work in progress – pending final art
  • Low and Critical health indicators added to enemy ping icons
    • These indicators appear when you can see an enemy’s health and subsequently ping them. The following abilities/events can cause you to see an enemy’s health:
      • Sombra’s Opportunist
      • Sombra’s Hack
      • Mercy’s Valkyrie
      • Widowmaker’s Infra-Sight
  • Confirm and Cancel visuals added
    • Canceling a ping removes it from the world
    • Confirming a ping informs your allies that you see their communication with contextual responses
  • Last Seen pings now have unique visuals
    • Last Seen pings are unmoving pings and are only placed when you lose line of sight of an enemy that was previously pinged
  • Offscreen pings now animate to draw attention
Ping Wheel Updates
  • Opening the ping wheel now also automatically fires a contextual ping
    • This will help with pinging enemies when you accidentally open the wheel
  • The ping wheel now remembers the location your crosshair was aimed when the wheel opened (instead of when you make a selection on the wheel)
  • World pings will now be placed at that location
  • The ping wheel now has a bespoke dead zone, smaller than all other wheels (Comms, Emote, Voice Line, Response)
  • The ping wheel now has a back button
    • All wheels have the back functionality for controller
Pinging While Dead
  • For the first 3 seconds of a hero’s death, the dead hero can ping the enemy that killed them
    • This prevents spamming the ping on enemies to keep their position updated since your body doesn’t provide line of sight
    • Allies are not provided line of sight from where you die, meaning you’ll only be able to place Last Seen pings if none of your allies also see them
    • Many pings are not intended to work while dead, instead printing your remaining respawn time in the team chat
    • Aiming at the enemy is not required since players are unable to aim in this 3-second window
    • There is more stringent spam protection on these pings than on regular enemy pings

SCOREBOARD

Overall Updates

The game scoreboard has been updated in multiple ways based on all the amazing feedback we’ve received since the first beta.

  • Completed reorganized layout, bringing the most important information together for an easier viewing experience
  • Improved ultimate progress indicators that now show numeric values
  • Increased transparency to allow you to see more of the game action while viewing the scoreboard

We look forward to more of your feedback on this feature, as we’re still looking to update and polish the scoreboard.

Statistics Updates

A large reorganization is in progress for the statistics displayed on the scoreboard, as well as the statistics for each hero. The scoreboard now displays Eliminations, Assists, Deaths, Hero Damage dealt, Healing Done, and Damage Mitigated. Here are the new statistics:

  • Assists is a new statistic that increments whenever a player earns what we previously referred to as a Defensive Assist or an Offensive Assist
  • Damage Mitigated is a new statistic that encompasses the previous Damage Blocked statistic, but also keeps track of damage prevented by effects such as Ana’s Nano Boost or Orisa’s Fortify
    • There’s still work to be done here, as we plan on adding tracking for damage mitigated by effects such as Lucio’s Sound Barrier

Many heroes still have statistics that are not yet implemented. These are marked by the NYI tag after the name of the statistic. We have included these unfinished statistics in the scoreboard to provide opportunities for players to give feedback on this feature.

SOUND

Home Theater Surround Sound Updates
  • All ambience soundscapes are now mixed for surround sound
3D Audio Updates
  • Xbox – Overwatch now supports Dolby Atmos for home theater and 3d audio over headphones
  • PS5 – Overwatch now supports Sony 3d audio through headphones and TV

New Features

  • Art Gallery
  • Music Player
  • High-Resolution Filter

More details from the press release:

The story of Mega Man Battle Network takes place in the near-future interconnected world of Net Society, which depends upon computer programs known as Network Navigators (or NetNavi for short) to manage everything from their toasters to city power grids. While the networked age brings all manner of convenience, it has also imported a wave of cybercrime eroding all levels of society. In these games, players take on the role of Lan Hikari using their PErsonal Terminal (or PET) and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, to confront the culprits behind these cybercrimes. Players control MegaMan.EXE as he explores the net, engages in grid-based combat, and uses Battle Chips to gain devastating abilities capable of deleting even the most sinister viruses.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection features optional high resolution filters that allow players to enjoy smoother, less pixelated visuals. Players can turn the filters off/on at any time if they would prefer to enjoy the original visuals of the Battle Network games. Network Navigators will also be able to access over 1,000 pieces of concept art, character sketches, and official illustrations in the collection’s Gallery. The “Mystery Data” section will contain exclusive illustrations from past events and images of licensed goods from this era of Mega Man™ titles. If you’d like to rock out to some tunes while browsing all of the art, the Music Player includes more than 180 tracks from all 10 titles.

Both collections will release digitally (PC, Switch and PS4) as well as physically (PS4 and Switch) in 2023. As of now, there is no confirmation on whether or not both volumes will see a release on Xbox platforms.
