GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition Update 1.04 Released This Dec. 3 (Update)

Rockstar Games has released the (Grand Theft Auto) GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition update 1.04 (PS5 version 1.004) patch this December 3! This one, much like the others, is for bug fixes and changes for all three games. Check out the full patch notes.

GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition Update 1.04 | GTA San Andreas – The Definitive Edition Update 1.004:

Update: The GTA Trilogy subreddit has posted some of the changes that are now live on the Nintendo Switch.

General

  • Menu sound effects have been changed
  • Switch menu now has a Fog ON/OFF setting

We’ll be sure to update this post once the full patch notes are out. Here are the complete patch notes:

[December 3, 2021] – Stability / Improvements (PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

  • Performance improvements to address a gameplay delay experienced by some players while driving

That’s about it for the patch.

Source: Rockstar Games Support

In case you missed it, check out our review of GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Review on the PS5 (4/10), where our own Jimmy Lara wrote: “I like to think that some thought was put into the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition, at least when it came to the quality of life improvements. But outside of that, it’s hard to say that this is the definitive way to play these all time classics. The end product of Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition feels more like a mod created from one person. And that would have been more forgiving if that was the case, however, it’s a full team (a small one granted) and the end result just simply isn’t on par with the level of expected quality.”

The spearfishing system has been overhauled, and now involves a mini-game wherein players strike fish as they swim across the screen.

Spearfishing Basics

1. With your spearfishing gig equipped, use the Fathom and Shark Eye actions to locate teeming waters.

2. As fish swim across your field of vision, strike them using the Gig action.

New Spearfishing Features

Weak Spots

Fish are caught by striking their weak spot as they swim through the teeming waters.

Certain fish will have a distinctive appearance, indicating they are guaranteed to be large-sized when caught.

Wariness

Nearby fish will take notice of your actions in the teeming waters, their wariness represented by a gauge at the top of the spearfishing interface. Wariness increases slowly over time, as well as with each strike of your spear. When the gauge is full, the fish will disperse, ending your spearfishing attempt.

Catch Counter

Successfully catching fish in quick succession will increase your catch counter (up to a maximum of ten), which slows the rate at which wariness increases. Be mindful, however, that the counter may reset should you go too long without catching any fish.

* To abandon a spearfishing attempt, press the Escape key, or the Quit action.

DICE: “No Plans” to Use Leaked Battlefield 2042 Santa Clause Skin This Holiday, Shows Incoming Weapon Cosmetics

Earlier today, DICE rolled out Update 3 for Battlefield 2042 that not only included a ton of gameplay-related tweaks, but it also accidentally leaked a Battlefield 2042 Santa Clause skin for one of the Specialists, which didn’t exactly go over well with the Battlefield community.

With this in mind, the studio has gone on Twitter to explain the leak, and why it was there in the first place. We’ve included the base tweet, as well as compiled all the relevant tweets in one spot for an easier read.

Today some of you accidentally got a glimpse of some Holiday themed cosmetics and we wanted to help clarify their intended usage #Battlefield

Here’s a thread where we can help to share some insight

Development for Live Service requires us to work months in advance, and enables us to have options when we reach key moments in our first year

Today, we have other priorities, and so whilst we have the skins, we presently have no plans to utilize all of them this Holiday.

We also create unique cosmetics for single time use in special #Battlefield Portal modes to further enhance the fantasy in special events.

Throughout our live service, you may occasionally encounter these mode locked cosmetics, which don’t impact the rest of the game.

It provides all of us working on #Battlefield with exciting new opportunities that let us explore with more creative freedom than before.

Having you all along for the journey is something we don’t take for granted, and we’ll be grateful to hear your experience with those modes.

Separately, we’ll be starting our weekly missions next week where you’ll be challenged to complete objectives, and be rewarded with new skins

Once earned, you’ll gain new items for your Collection and we’ll have new skins available to unlock each week on the road to Season One

Image

Image

Well, there you have it! This is something that wasn’t intended to be used in the first place. That said, I doubt this bit of revelation will do anything to calm the BF horde down.

In your opinion are some of the Battlefield community members just a tad too touchy with a bunch of harmless cosmetic items or is this something that should never be in the game in the first place? Sound off and let us know your thoughts down in the comments below.

Apex Legends Next Update Patch Notes for Raiders Collection Event Revealed

In just a week, Respawn Entertainment is launching the Apex Legends Raiders Collection event, which not only will deliver new items to earn, but also a slew of gameplay tuning changes. Thankfully, Respawn has released the Apex Legends next update patch notes that are set for the Raiders event!

Apex Legends Next Update Patch Notes for Raiders Collection Event:

LEGENDS

  • Wattson: Fixed the issue with fences “sticking” when trying to place a node near a fence.
  • Wattson: Fixed bug for cases where Wattson’s Fence nodes ignored player collision.
  • Wattson: Fixed bug with the blueprint line not showing up to signify where the fence will be created.
  • Wattson: Fixed issue where Caustic’s Ultimate isn’t zapped by the Interception Pylon.
  • Wattson: Fixed bug where Arc Stars could stick to and damage the Interception Pylon
  • Ash: Based on feedback we’ve increased the audio presence of Ash’s Ultimate.
  • Ash will no longer “bleed” when shot and now displays sparks [like Pathfinder and Revenant].
  • Ash: fixed cases where a grid pattern would show on some rare and common skins.
  • Valkyrie / Revenant: Fixed a bug where using a Skydive with Death Totem at a specific time caused Valkyrie’s skydive to enter a bugged state.
  • Valkyrie: Fix for Birthright Skin where Valk’s jetpack control clips into her hands in first person.

ARENAS

  • Arenas: Fixed bug where Seer could continuously charge his tactical after it’s reached zero uses.
  • Arenas: Reduced reconnect times since the matches are shorter than a Battle Royale match.
  • Arenas: Fix for missing ammo UI on the common, rare, or epic, CAR.
  • Arenas: Fix for missing horizontal black bars while spectating.
  • Arenas: Fix for cases where the Death Tab is missing from the shop window.

ADDITIONAL BUG FIXES

  • Fixed issue with a spot on Storm Point where players could camp in unintended areas near Command Center.
  • We also addressed multiple minor bugs around the map ranging from misplaced kill triggers and holes in geo.
  • Bocek Compound Fracture Legendary skin bug: Fixed an issue where players would still see iron sights when aiming even if another sight is equipped.
  • R-301 Dynastic Cycle Legendary skin bug: Fixed an issue with the gun using a mix of two different skins.
  • Fixed bug for cases where the Loba Edition displays “No Price Found” when viewed in the store tab.
  • Based on feedback we’ve reduced the SFX on reactive skins for the Volt.
  • Fixed bug where players were unable to scroll downwards when looting a death box or black market.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing players from getting Rampart’s Heirloom even after buying all 24 event packs.
  • Fixed bug where players could skydive faster after spamming Ping.
  • Fixed issue with players seeing the 888 Elite Mode Badge constantly unlocking.
  • Fixed bug where dive trails were not rewarded properly.

BALANCE CHANGES

Seer

  • Decreased Focus of Attention detonation delay from 1.6s to 1.4s

Dev Note

Seer was dialed back to a healthier spot with the balance hotfix soon after his release. However, after four months of evaluating his use in the live game, the detonation delay seems a little too sluggish. We want to improve its feel while continuing to evaluate the reveal meta as a whole.

Arc Star

Sticks

  • Base stick damage lowered from 30 -> 10
  • Shield Damage Multiplier increased from x3 -> x4 (stick on shielded enemy will now max out at 40 instead of 90)
  • Sticking an enemy now applies a slow debuff (reverting Legacy update change)

Non-Sticks

  • Slow duration is now driven by distance to the center of Arc Star detonation

Dev Note

Arc stars excel in a lot of areas. They have high damage potential coupled with a punishing slow, and can be thrown more accurately than other ordnance types. Removing the stick slow created some degenerate play patterns and often made it hard to tell when you got stuck in the heat of battle. We’re bringing that back with a tradeoff of lower damage potential and a proximity based slow falloff in non-stick cases. These changes make stick scenarios more consistent across shield types and make arc stars less effective at area denial.

Splatter Rounds

  • Removed increased magazine capacity

Dev Note

Big Maude has been an awesome drop location and a reliable source of early power for teams that win the hotdrop. However, the paintball weapons are proving to be a little too strong so we’re going to remove the increased mag size but keep the handling improvements.

Crafting

  • Shotgun ammo, sniper ammo, and arrow crafting output reduced to a single stack

PRIVATE MATCH

  • Observer Mode – UI and Scoring Improvements for in-game stats menu.
  • Observer Mode – Reduced opacity on Loba’s Back Market for map & mini-map.
  • Observer Mode – Added toggle option to show next ring location.
  • Added [Team] Eliminated text in kill feed for Private Match Anonymous mode.
  • Admins now have the ability to end matches in either Observer or Player positions.
  • Fixed issue for real time API delay after running consecutive games.
  • New real time API events including:
    • Shots fired
    • Kill awarded
    • Line by line formatting
    • Unique player IDs

QUALITY OF LIFE

New Custom Reticle Color System

Custom Reticles are here! The new UI can be opened under Gameplay Settings by selecting the Customize option under Reticle.

Once in the new Custom Reticle UI you’ll be able to:

  • Select a color from some of our recommended favorites
  • Use the color and brightness sliders to find that perfect color
  • Manually enter an RGB color
  • Toggle between 4 different hand picked environments to preview your reticle

Dev Note

You’ll be able to pick from a lot of colors in the new system, but darker colors won’t be selectable because of how some of our reticles react to the world (additive effect) which would make them invisible. If a manually entered RGB value is in that range, we will do our best to keep that hue but will bring that value closer to a safe color.

From all of us on the Apex Legends team we wish you all a safe and wonderful Holiday! Thank you for the support this year.

Battlefield 2042 Feedback Survey Sent Out by EA, Asks About Specialists, Maps & More

Have you played Battlefield 2042 recently? Got something to say to the people behind it? Check your inbox, as EA has sent out Battlefield 2042 feedback survey links to players asking about weapon variety, maps and more.

Battlefield 2042 Feedback Survey:

While we don’t have the full set of questions, we do have confirmation that it’s legit, and even a few screengrabs of it.

As you can see, the questions all ask specific stuff like whether players are satisfied with the variety of weapons in the game, how Specialists are and more. This isn’t the first time EA has sent out a survey regarding BF2042, as the publisher also sent one out back in October to see feedback on the beta. Also important to note, given that Battlefield 2042 is already out, this survey won’t really change anything in this game, but still, letting EA know how you feel about the game can’t be wrong, right?

It’s been quite a day for the Battlefield franchise, as not only did we get a survey form EA about it, but even the studio’s GM is leaving this year, and the franchise will now be overseen by Respawn Entertainment boss Vince Zampella. You can read more about that right here to see what kind of shake up DICE is undergoing right now.

Don’t forget to check out the patch notes for today’s massive BF2042 game update that tweaks a lot of things in the game. In this same update, it was revealed that there’s going to be a Santa Clause-themed outfit for one of the characters in the game.

Thanks, DependentOk1540 & Tom Henderson!

Tribes of Midgard Season 2 Release Date Revealed, Roadmap Also Updated

Developer Norsfell and Gearbox Publishing have finally announced the Tribes of Midgard Season 2 release date. Subtitled Serpent Saga, this hefty new season will add tons of new content to the game, including a new Season Track, Saga Boss, Open Seas biome, weapons and armor, 40 more Runes, Boats, Swimming, and various quality-of-life improvements alongside a festive three-week Yuliday event. (Correction: there will be five new Runes in Season 2, bringing the game’s total to 40).

In addition to the release date of Tribes of Midgard Season 2 on December 14, Norsfell also announced that the game will also be releasing on PC via the Epic Games Store during the same date. Below is a rundown of the new content coming to Tribes of Midgard Season 2:

Season 2: Serpent Saga Key Features:

  • A New Saga Boss – Just like the fearsome Fenrir from Season 1, you will now have another mysterious but powerful beast of myth to tackle before Fimbulwinter. Take to the seas to find and unlock its Lair, and defeat the beast to stop Ragnarök.
  • Shipyard – Your Shipyard, located right outside your village on an Ash Beach biome, will need to be rebuilt just like the Quarry, Farm, and Lumberyard. Once rebuilt, you can use resources to craft Boat kits and take to the seas! Smaller boats are flimsier, but are more nimble and require less materials. Larger boats unlocked by leveling up your Shipyard can hold more players, travel faster, and have more HP, but cost more resources. With different tiers of boats, players can choose the right boat for their playstyle.
  • Boats – Vikings can now sail the seven seas by building and constructing Boats crafted in the Shipyard. Boats can be placed and built through your Construction Inventory, but only in the Open Seas off a coastline, shore or cliff – not in rivers or ponds.
  • Swimming – For shorter trips, or on the off chance your ship takes a turn for the worst, Vikings can now swim! While a quick lap or trip back to an accessible shoreline or Boat ladder is fine, swimming is limited by your Viking’s Stamina gauge – so make sure you’re back on your boat or dry land when that bar hits zero, or you’ll start taking damage until the water claims you.
  • Exploration: Explore the Open Seas and access uncharted islands off the shores of Midgard to find Merchants and new Beacon Camps filled with turrets and brand new enemies! The expanded map allows you to discover new lands full of resources, enemies, and loot. However, there is also a greater challenge, as you will have to traverse this expanded world to unlock and defeat the Saga Boss before Fimbulwinter.

DICE GM Departs Studio, Respawn Boss Vince Zampella Taking Over & Will Play “Bigger Role” in Battlefield Franchise

After the release of Battlefield 2042, and in the midst of the developer’s roll-out of much-needed updates for the game, it appears that DICE is undergoing a massive shake-up in terms of leaderships structure. DICE GM Oskar Gabrielson is officially leaving his post, with Respawn Entertainment head Vince Zampella taking the helm as he plays a “bigger role” in the overall Battlefield franchise.

The story comes from GameSpot, where the original report confirms the  Battlefield franchise development shake up, and series’ future. Speaking to GameSpot, Zampella described the strategy and how it will affect the Battlefield franchise moving forward:

This is an ‘And’ strategy in many ways. We will continue to evolve and grow Battlefield 2042, and we’ll explore new kinds of experiences and business models along the way that we can add to that foundation to provide an awesome array of experiences for our players. In this universe, the world is interconnected with shared characters and narrative. This universe is also built with our community as we harness the power of Portal and user generated content that puts creativity in the hands of our players.

As for Gabrielson, he is departing the studio at the end of the year, which is sometime this month, and had this to say regarding this move:

It is hard to put into words my passion for our studio, our teams and the Battlefield franchise. The last decade with the team at DICE has been nothing short of amazing. From the debut of Battlefield 3, to Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefield 1, and of course the return of all-out warfare with Battlefield 2042,” Gabrielson said. “There’s just been so many great memories working with our teams. DICE has some of the best talent in the industry and the team is in great hands.

While Zampella might be the new big boss when it comes to the Battlefield franchise, DICE will have a new GM in Rebecka Coutaz, who was the former studio director at Ubisoft Annecy. Gabrielson will be helping Coutaz transition into their new role in the studio, and the former DICE GM will be working outside of EA, though there’s no announcement made just yet.

It will be interesting to see how Zampella will handle his new role as the new lead for DICE, and what will happen to Respawn Entertainment in the process. Recently, the studio’s first hit title, Titanfall, has been delisted from storefronts and will be removed from subscription services next year.
