Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.33 April 22 Now Live

Following this week’s Marvel’s Avengers patch, Crystal Dynamics has released the Marvel’s Avengers update 1.33 April 22 patch (PS5 01.000.010), and it clocks in at 2.59GB on PlaySation platforms. Head on below for the changelog.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.33 April 22 Patch Notes (PS5 01.000.010):

Per Crystal Dynamics on Steam. here’s what got changed today:

22-04-2021 – Updated to build 1.6.1.1 with the following changes:
  • Fixed a problem that could result in save data corruption.

In addition to that, the Tachyon Anomaly event is live now, too! You can check out the trailer here, and we included details about it below.

The world is reeling as AIM’s tampering with time has led to periodic Tachyon Anomalies. During these events, Avengers from different timelines can converge in a single location and take on threats together, allowing players to form teams of more than one of the same Super Hero online. Players can also matchmake into teams that contain the same Heroes, leading to new and exciting team compositions.

During the two weeks of the event, players that complete any Temporal Assault missions will receive an exclusive animated Temporal Assault Nameplate usable with any Super Hero as a reward.  Completing additional Temporal Assault missions rewards players with Priority Set pieces for high-level Heroes.

The Tachyon Anomaly event also makes Tachyon Rift missions accessible to Heroes who are Power Level 1-100, allowing all players to experience them. A new Tachyon Rift mission, “And We’re Back,” is available on the War Table starting with this event, giving players more missions of that type to run.

Don’t forget, this event runs from today and only until May 3! If there are more gameplay-related changes in this patch, we’ll update the post to reflect it.

For Honor Update 2.27 April 22 Out Today, Here’s What’s New

Ubisoft has released the For Honor update 2.27 April 22 patch, and it includes a host of gameplay changes and more. Head on below for the complete list of patch notes.

For Honor Update 2.27 April 22 Patch Notes:

File Sizes: *PS4: 1.7Gb, Xbox One: 2.1 Gb, PC: 2.1 Gb*

IMPROVEMENTS

BREACH

  • Improvement: Decreased Pikemen Health to 37 (from 46)
  • Improvement: Decreased Pikemen Damage to 8 (from 10)
  • Improvement: Decreased Fortifier Health to 80 (from 120)
  • Improvement: Decreased Fortifier Side Heavy Damage to 24 (from 40)
  • Improvement: Decreased Guardian Health to 520 (from 600)
  • Improvement: Decreased Commander Health to 855 (from 950)
  • Improvement: Decreased Commander Top Heavy Unblockable Damage to 48 (from 60)

Dev Comments: Following the Core Combat Update from last year we now revised the health and damage values from all different NPCs in Breach. The previous values no longer fell in line with the damage output from Heroes. We know that Pikemen were a source of frustration for many and with their new health values, most Heroes with a Light-Heavy combo will be able to dispatch them quicker with less stamina consumption.

USER INTERFACE

  • Improved the Dominion scoring widget:
  • The 1000 points mark is now visible on the gauge to make the Breaking threshold easier to see at a glance
  • A lock will appear on a team’s gauge when they reached over 1000 hard points as Breaking cannot be reverted anymore

Dev Comments While the previous scoring widget was functional, we wanted to make it easier for players to quickly grasp how close teams are to Breaking, and whether or not a rally is possible by taking a capture zone. Even if these are fairly known rules to most players, we hope it will make the widget more comfortable to use, as well as clarify how the scoring works for newer players.

CUSTOMIZATION

  • Weapon Set for Wu Lin heroes presented during the Y5S1 Warrior’s Den stream have been added as loot drops (FH-1445)

BUG FIXES

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused Revenge to stack with other damage buffs (FH-1417)

FIGHTERS

Lawbringer

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Lawbringer’s weapon to be misplaced and appear to be hovering when performing a light attack as part of the Swift Justice Combo (FH-1048)

Tiandi

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Tiandi’s Dragon and Tiger dodge animations to be mixed after performing them many times (FH-1262)

Shaolin

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Shaolin’s Sun Kick Smash animation to stutter after changing Guard direction (FH-1066)

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Win Loss ratio value to be different when comparing the old profile with the new one

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused some Voice lines and grunts from attacks to be cut off early when connecting with opponent (FH-425)

CUSTOMIZATION

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Gryphon’s “Rabid Wolf” elite outfit patterns and symbols to not be displayed (FH-1426)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Berserker’s Asmundar helmet to have physics effect on the front metal part (FH-1382)
  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue that caused the Zhanhu’s Yushi Dafu armor chest to have physics effect on the shin parts (FH-1366)

Triple Rewards on Casino Work and Rumors of Diamonds in the Vault

Plus a Free Sponsor Tee for All Open Wheel Racers, Double Rewards in Stunt Races, and More

Trading in your cash for chips is one way to try and get rich off a casino’s dime. Another is helping Agatha Baker by completing Casino Work missions and assisting the house in running some errands around Los Santos: fending off mercenaries, chauffeuring VIPs, and generally making yourself useful. Ms. Baker will make it worth your while, dishing out triple the usual cash and XP on all Casino Work until April 28th.

If you would rather get your hands dirty: multiple walkie-talkies inside The Diamond have been chirping about a potential delivery of diamonds being made to the vault sometime this week. The only way to confirm or deny the rumor is to scout out the contents of the vault to see if the odds are in your favor.

2X GTA$ and RP on Stunt Races

Sometimes your greatest foe in a Stunt Race isn’t your co-competitors, but gravity itself. Whether you defeat a fundamental force of nature, your fellow racers, or end up in a fiery hunk of charred metal on the business end of a loop-de-loop, all players will earn 2X GTA$ and RP on all Rockstar created Stunt Races through April 28.

Free Open Wheel Sponsor Tee for All Open Wheel Racers
Turn your torso into a walking billboard by participating in any Open Wheel Race this week to have the Open Wheel Sponsor Tee added to your wardrobe next week.

On the Podium this Week: Annis RE-7B

While you may be helping or hindering the financial success of The Diamond Casino & Resort (or just visiting the bar), there’s no downside to spinning the Lucky Wheel: there’s GTA$, RP, clothing, mystery prizes, and more, all up for grabs at no cost to you. This week’s top prize on the podium is the Annis RE-7B, a Japanese-built racing prototype designed with the most exacting specifications and race conditions in mind.

Curate Your Space: 50% off all Penthouse Decorations in the Casino Store

Do your party guests keep remarking on how drab your new spot is? If so, it might be time to get new friends … and some new décor. Luckily, all Penthouse decorations are half off at the Casino Store, conveniently located in the lobby of The Diamond, so feel free to deck your halls out, perhaps with the latest and greatest works by artists like Urbanski, Dimi, Gaspar Losa, and more.

Discounts:

Don’t let envy get in your way: there’s a grab-bag of discounts on offer this week that’ll help you climb the social ladder, whether it’s 40% off the Master Penthouse Suite atop the Diamond and all its Customizations and Add-Ons, or a selection of vehicles that are sure to turn heads.

Vehicles:

  • Pegassi Torero — 30% off
  • Grotti Itali GTO — 40% off
  • Lampadati Komoda — 40% off
  • Nagasaki Stryder — 40% off
  • Maxwell Vagrant — 40% off

Prime Gaming Bonuses and Benefits

GTA Online players who successfully connect their Rockstar Games Social Club account with Prime Gaming will receive the Kosatka submarine’s Sonar Station for free, along with GTA$200K just for playing any time this week.

In addition, Prime Gaming members receive exclusive discounts including 70% off the Pegassi Zorrusso and 80% off both the classic Grotti GT500 sports car and Pfister Comet Safari off-roader.

That’s it for this week!

Battlefield Mobile Announced, Out in 2022

While we’re all waiting patiently for the reveal of the still-untitled Battlefield 2021 game, EA has sprung a  surprise today by announcing a new Battlefield mobile game that’s set to come in 2022!

It doesn’t seem to have any official title yet, but EA has mentioned that this  will be a “standalone” Battlefield game built for smartphones and mobiles. Check out what DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson had to say:

A new Battlefield Mobile Game Coming in 2022

It’s always been our vision to bring Battlefield to more platforms. So, after years of prototyping, I’m super happy to be able to let you know that our friends at Industrial Toys, working closely with all of us here at DICE, are developing a completely new Battlefield game bringing all-out warfare to smartphones and tablets in 2022.

Make no mistake, this is a standalone game. A completely different game from the one we’re making for console and PC, designed specifically for the mobile platform. It’s being built from the ground up by iToys to make Battlefield-on-the-go a reality and you can expect a fully-fledged, skill-based experience. This mobile game is now entering a testing period ahead of launching next year, so expect more details to come.

Hopefully, this is a game worthy of the Battlefield name.

What are you expectin from Battlefeild’s mobile version? Let us know what you think down in the  comments.

Hunt Showdown Update 1.22 April 22 Deployed

Hunters, Crytek has deployed the Hunt Showdown update 1.22 April 22 patch today on both PC and consoles (PS4, Xbox One). It doesn’t seem like there are any major changes included in this one, but we’ve outlined some of the latest stuff the studio has mentioend below.

Hunt Showdown Update 1.22 April 22 Patch Notes:

Here’s what Crytek had to say about today’s maintenance and more:

There’s also a new DLC bundle set to become available soon, which could be what the downloadable data is for. Checkc out the details on “Wolf at the Door.”

ABOUT THIS CONTENT

This DLC contains four Legendary weapons: Rougarou (Mosin Nagant Obrez), Once Bitten (Lebel 1886 Marksman), Blood Moon (Crown & King Auto-5), and Midnight Howl (Caldwell Conversion Uppercut).

The wolf is one of nature’s most accomplished hunters, and those seeking to channel the animal’s efficient brutality will want this set of new Legendary weapons in their arsenal, weapons that bear witness to their skill in hunting and tracking, to local werewolf legends, and to the influence of the heavens. Controlled by bloodlust, hunger, and the undeniable pull of the moon – we fear wolves; we are wolves. And from wolves, we Hunters have much to learn.

Today also marks the end date of the As the Crow Flies event,.

Same as always, if we get a proper changelog of gameplay-related fixes, we’ll  be sure to update the post.

The Division 2 Needs a High-Stakes Money Activity

The Division 2 is a fantastic MMO with a plethora of content for players new and old to work through. Ubisoft is dedicated to bringing even more new content to the game for the foreseeable future. At the time of writing, it’s not even known if Ubisoft will move onto The Division 3 or keep up supporting this second entry in the franchise for even longer. With that in mind, I reckon that the developer would be wise to add a casino activity. Something to assault the eyes and senses like never before and bring an entirely new experience to this series.

Casinos are big and bright. They’re full of noise and moving objects and are about as far from calm as you can get. That’s why it makes perfect sense to have some Divison agents burst into one and start shooting the insurgents that have taken it over. I imagine that the Black Tusk would be the best fit for this type of area. Their mastery of technology makes them perfect for such an intense area. They could fill it with all sorts of traps and surprises to keep Division agents occupied.

The Best Casino Mission Ever Made

If anyone can create the top online casino ideal, it’s Ubisoft. The activity could be framed as an online casino game in the actual casino itself. Groups of enemies can be placed in sections of the building, and each one would need to be taken out, creating a winning line before you can move on. There could even be a hold mechanic using doors, seeing players choose which doors they move through to try to break through to the final boss. The entire activity can be so different from anything else that’s even been in the game. It would make for such an exciting addition.

Much of The Division 2’s visuals are bright and colorful. A casino will fit right in with them. While the bright lights may take some getting used to, they could be worked in with the rest of the game’s world using Black Tusk. Obviously, this also presents a great opportunity for new loot. The weapons and gear on offer can all be themed around casinos. This is what will keep players coming back every day, week, and month to earn shiny items that light up their character. It would be amazing if some of those items actually lit up, making for some super interesting new fashion choices.

Finally, I think that The Division 2 shines in the activities that are unique. In the elevator that you ride up and kill enemies along the way, you’re constantly facing new groups of enemies. There’s always a new challenge, and each floor brings something interesting. That same concept can work in a casino, particularly if it’s in an activity themed around a slot game. Failing to get a line could result in a tougher challenge while making one can see players push further forward than they could otherwise. Hopefully, Ubisoft will implement something along these lines one day.

    • Enabled: Left and right audio channels are combined into one channel

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed a bug with most Cold War barrels where Hip Spread and ADS Idle Sway were being increased when they should not have been.
  • Fixed a bug with some ZRG 20mm optics that disabled the ability to hold breath.
  • Fixed a bug where some loot would drop in close proximity on death.
  • Fixed a bug where if the player is downed while switching to a gunner seat, they would become invisible and/or invulnerable.
  • Fixed a bug causing the random Operator select option to only select Coalition Operators from Modern Warfare.
  • Fixed a bug causing Baker’s fourth Operator Mission Objective to not track properly (eliminate 15 enemies using a weapon with an attached 2x magnified scope or greater).
  • Fixed a bug causing certain Operator models to appear headless while using the FFAR 1.

Modern Warfare & Warzone Update 1.36 New WEAPONS

  • Cold War weapons have had their ammo names updated.
  • The FFAR 1 crosshair has been updated to match other Assault Rifles.
  • New Weapons
    • PPSh-41: SMG (Launch Week)
      • Tier 15 of the Battle Pass.
    • Swiss K31: Sniper Rifle (Launch Week)
      • Tier 31 of the Battle Pass.
  • Two New Weapon Unlock Challenges
    • LC-10
      • Using SMGs, get 3 kills without dying in 15 different matches.
    • FARA 83
      • Using Assault Rifles, get 2 headshot kills in 15 different matches.
  • Assault Rifles
    • Cold War AK-47
      • Recoil pattern has been adjusted
      • The recoil pattern on the Cold War AK-47 had made its downsides far more apparent than its upsides. We have smoothed out its recoil to make it easier to control. If you are accurate, or skilled at recoil control you will now find the Cold War AK-47 quite effective at most ranges.
    • FARA 83
      • Minimum damage increased from 25 to 26
      • Maximum damage decreased from 33 to 31
      • Maximum damage range increased by 17%
      • Recoil pattern has been adjusted
      • As a fast-firing AR with relatively strong recoil, we felt there was too much of an identity overlap between the FARA 83 and the FFAR 1. We have smoothed out its recoil and pushed its damage profile out to be a more viable mid-long range AR option.
    • FFAR 1
      • Maximum damage decreased from 30 to 27
      • Maximum damage range decreased by 15%
      • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1.1 to 1
      • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1.1 to 1
      • ADS speed decreased slightly
      • With high damage, rate of fire, and a competitive mag size, the FFAR 1 has enjoyed a lengthy reign of terror on the short-to-mid range engagement space. When a weapon is so ruthlessly efficient that it pushes the entirety of a weapon category out of viability, it needs to be addressed. The FFAR 1 will remain a respectable option following this change, but it should now be a playstyle preference rather than a loadout necessity.
    • Groza
      • Recoil increased slightly
      • ADS speed decreased slightly
      • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1.3 to 1.1
      • This change is more of a precaution. We expect in the absence of the FFAR 1, that the Groza would rise to take its place. While there will always be a ‘meta’, we want the meta to exist in a TTK range that is a bit higher than where we are currently. In that regard, we believe the Groza was a bit of an outlier that, much like the FFAR 1, could have been detrimental to weapon diversity. Bringing the Groza down a notch should allow for some healthy competition in this weapon category.
    • Krig 6
      • Head damage multiplier changed from 1.4 to 1.5
      • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.3
      • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.1
      • Lower torso damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.1
      • The Krig 6 has long been overshadowed by other all-stars in the AR category. We believe this change will allow for a more competitive Time to Kill given the shots are well placed.
    • QBZ-83
      • Move speed increased
      • ADS move speed increased
      • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.2
      • Upper torso damage multiplier changed from 1 to 1.1
      • The QBZ-83 is a unique weapon that trades overall lethality for mobility. We aim to provide players with the tools to support a multitude of interesting playstyle options. Our goal is that with the right attachments, skillful maneuvering and rotations will be a hallmark of the QBZ playstyle. We have also given it a much-needed nudge in lethality if you can manage aiming and moving simultaneously.”
  • Submachine Guns
    • LC10
      • Bullet velocity increased slightly
    • Mac-10
      • Maximum damage decreased by 1
      • This is another precautionary change to promote diversity. The Mac-10 is both popular and fun to use. Part of what makes the Mac-10 feel fair to play against is that its upside feels comparative to its downside. That is where player skill comes in. Knowing when and what weapon to swap to during an engagement is a facet of skill expression we want to highlight whenever possible. While this change only brings the Mac-10’s Time to Kill up by about 10%, we think this is a good place to start to encourage exploration in the SMG category.
  • Sniper Rifles

    • Pelington 703
      • ADS speed increased
      • Raise time increased slightly
  • Tactical Rifles
    • Cold War Tactical Rifle Charlie
      • Time between bursts increased by 33%
      • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1.8 to 1.3
    • M16
      • Time between bursts increased by 10%
      • Neck damage multiplier changed from 1.8 to 1.1
    • The Cold War Tactical Rifle Charlie and the M16 were able to reach rates of fire that allowed the wielder to negate a requisite identity pillar of burst rifles—accuracy. With their extreme rates of fire and generous burst pattern, shots were not required to be well placed. You would inherit the high damage profile and range of burst rifles with minimal downside. With this change, and the change to Fire Rate barrels noted below, you will now need to aim deliberately if you intend to kill quickly.

And… we are keeping a close eye on the AMAX. No king rules forever.

Modern Warfare & Warzone Update 1.36 ATTACHMENTS Changes

  • Position Concealment
    • Position Concealment will reduce the time your position is visible on the compass and minimap after firing. This effect has been added as a pro on both the Flashguard and SOCOM/KGB Eliminator.
  • Barrels
    • 16.3” Rapid Fire (M16)
      • Increase to rate of fire reduced by 58%
    • 18” Rapid Fire (Tactical Rifle Charlie)
      • Increase to rate of fire reduced by 56%
    • 15.9” Strike Team (M16)
      • Increase to rate of fire reduced by 66%
    • 18.2” Strike Team (Tactical Rifle Charlie)
      • Increase to rate of fire reduced by 64%
    • 16.3” Titanium (M16)
      • Increase to rate of fire reduced by 61%
    • 17” Titanium (Tactical Rifle Charlie)
      • Increase to rate of fire reduced by 59%
    • Sorokin 140mm Auto (Sykov)
      • Minimum damage reduced from 23 to 19
    • Sorokin 140mm Auto AND Akimbo (Sykov)
      • Minimum damage reduced from 19 to 14
        • This only affects the weapon when both the Sorokin 140mm Auto and the Akimbo attachment are equipped simultaneously.
    • The Sykov, when equipped with any permutation of the Sorokin 140mm Auto has been far more lethal at range than we would prefer. When secondary weapons can go toe-to-toe with, or even best a primary weapon consistently, we risk streamlining access to one of the most powerful Perks in the game—Ghost. While we continue to examine the impact that Ghost has on gameplay, providing easier access to it with negligible downside is not something we want to enable.
  • Lasers
    • Ember Sighting Point
      • ADS speed penalty reduced by 20%
    • SOF Target Designator
      • Flashlight is now visible during hip-fire and ADS
  • Magazines
    • Salvo/VDV Fast Mag
      • ADS speed penalty reduced by 20%
    • Speed Mag
      • Pistols
        • ADS speed penalty reduced by 40%
      • SMGs
        • ADS speed penalty reduced by 30%
      • Snipers
        • ADS speed penalty reduced by 20%
  • Muzzles
    • Flashguard
      • Added Position Concealment pro
    • SOCOM/KGB Eliminator
      • Added Position Concealment pro
  • Optics
    • SUSAT MultiZoom
      • ADS speed penalty reduced by 10%
    • Ultrazoom Custom
      • ADS speed penalty reduced by 20%
    • Vulture Custom Zoom
      • ADS speed penalty reduced by 20%
  • Rear Grips
    • Increases to ADS speed reduced by roughly 10%

We have begun the iterative process of tweaking values on attachments. We would like the diminution of weapon downside to be a build direction rather than a single attachment choice. As it stands, we feel most attachments need to have their values addressed in some regard to achieve this. We are hoping to make some previously nonviable options less so in addition to widening overall build variety. This may include increasing upsides or downsides on existing attachments. We are also actively looking at how we can create more compelling choices within the confines of attachment categories—chiefly, muzzles like the Monolithic and Agency Suppressor.
Given the magnitude of balance changes in this patch, we may make some adjustments shortly after Season 3 launch to ensure the meta is healthy and stable. As always, please continue to provide your feedback!

Check out the first seven minutes of this updated film adaptation, featuring the early origins of the rivalry between Hanzo Hisashi and Bi-Han, aka Scorpion and Sub-Zero!

If you’re new to the Mortal Kombat fandom, here’s the official synopsis for the reboot from the film’s official website.

In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal Kombat will be released in theaters and HBO Max on April 23.

Resident Evil Village Gameplay Demo Impressions – Really Lycan It

Following Capcom’s earlier “demo” for Resident Evil Village titled “Maiden,” which was more of an audio and visual showcase more than anything, the company has now released a full-fledged demo for the upcoming horror game, though one that limits the player in terms of total playtime. Based on the first 30 minutes, is Resident Evil Village something you’ll want to visit again once the demo becomes available for an hour (full demo schedule can be seen here), or is this experience left us yearning for the franchise to return to its third-person formula — something Resident Evil 2 Remake so excellently executed? Read on for our full impressions of the game’s first vertical slice.

Kicking the demo off, you play as previous RE7 protagonist, Ethan Winters, who has set off to find his abducted daughter. His journey eventually takes him to a small Romanian village, which seemingly is centuries behind modern civilization.

Entering a small gated portion of the village, you are greeted by the very same old creepy lady from the trailers. She warns that since the arrival of Rosemary (Ethan’s daughter) the village has been plagued in darkness, with creatures now awoken and terrorizing the locals in horrific and gruesome ways. It is here where we start our journey towards the mysterious Castle Dimitrescu, the presumed place where Rosemary is being kept.

If you go into this demo expecting a ton of plot, then you’ll end up being a bit disappointed. This isn’t to bark on the demo in any way, considering it’s meant to showcase the gameplay. No instead, I would almost lean towards the opposite, despite not having a lot of context, it did an excellent job at engrossing us in it’s world with it’s teased set pieces.

The NPCs (non-playable characters) specifically seem to be playing a far bigger role than in previous games. While yes they’re there just to get killed off at any chance possible, the light interaction in the demo made the world of Village feel quite lively. Seeing that you are a stranger in this closed off community, the NPCs naturally have resentfulness towards you. It shows, even despite helping them out, but it seems all well explained once you start seeing a group of them pray to what almost seems like a cult-like religion.

It’s a rare kind of world building when you think about it, especially in a Resident Evil game where they mainly try to stick you in front and center of it all with zombies and such. It’s unknown how much the final game will play using NPCs, but we are hoping this isn’t the last we see of them in this capacity.

As for the village itself, we absolutely love the brooding, 19th century aesthetics. It sets an atmospheric tone that comes off very serious, and unlike Resident Evil 7 where it was pretty much shades of brown (due to the mold theme), Village has colors that complement  the experience by pushing a narrative tone. It all fits the theme so very well, and feels like a huge call back to Resident Evil 4.

Of course this being a gameplay demo, we should talk about the gameplay itself. Unless you’ve been living under castle Dimitrescu this whole time, the gameplay of Village follows in the steps of Resident Evil 7’s first-person combat. However, rather than just be a direct lift, Village seems to refine the overall gunplay experience, to what feels like an overall improvement.

Controls are snappier, and it doesn’t feel like you’re a 500lbs person trying to walk and move around. I will admit it still had some stiffness to it, but nothing as annoying as I felt within RE7. And seeing that we played with it on the PS5, the game does make awesome use of features like haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Resident Evil game if it didn’t have puzzles, and the Village demo gave us a small glimpse at just that. The demo has you searching for two keystones in order to unlock a door that leads into the castle. While yes, you could go about and just find these without any clues, we decided to take the longer approach and search every nook and cranny we could find within the demo limit. We discovered some helpful clues, such as a map detailing the locations of the keys, along with many hidden mechanics scattered throughout.

Unfortunately, seeing that there was a timer to play the demo we didn’t feel like we experienced everything there was to offer, but clearly there was a lot more to the demo, or at least to the area that’ll most likely play a major role in the final release.

While the gunplay felt a bit stiff, it was definitely a step up from Resident Evil 7’s, which wasn’t bad by any means. We’ll reserve judgement on this for when we’re able to play the demo for an hour, which should give us more time to get used to its feel and mechanics.

Possibly the biggest takeaway from the 30-minute demo from us? The way Capcom is shaping the game’s world and story alongside the player, and its inhabitants. Usually, in past Resident Evil games, we’re placed in the middle of the chaos, but here in Village, we’re experiencing what’s happening alongside the game’s non-playable cast, which adds immersion, and more tension than just being put in the middle of a zombie or monster-infested place, and then things will unfold along the way. It’s a different take on the franchise’s storytelling, and it’s a very intriguing one that could pay off big-time.

Call of Duty Warzone Rebirth lsland Get’s a Nighttime Makeover After Nuke Event

It seems that we are starting to see the aftermath of the recent nuke launch in Warzone, as Rebirth Island is now experiencing a nighttime event.

The newly updated playlist for Rebirth is called “Aftermath: Rebirth Island,” with a description of:

Nuclear fallout engulfs Verdansk. Get a glimpse of what happens next. Drop into Rebirth Island and battle all night in limited-time versions of Resurgence, Mini Royale, and Kinglsayer. Search for clues amid the Aftermath

So far from our play session we haven’t spotted anything different outside of the mode now being set at night. However, from the message of the day description, it does hint that there are clues scattered around the map. Most likely following in the same fashion as previous Easter eggs and clues, these findings are probably well hidden and tough to locate, especially given the map size of Rebirth and the respawn rate.

An image of Warzone Rebirth lsland at night showing the aftermath of the Nuke.

Call of Duty Warzone Rebirth Island Nighttime

The official Call of Duty Twitter also pointed out that players should start investigating the island at 9PM Pacific Time.

https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1384976050770305026

And while we haven’t spotted anything ourselves, it seems that ModernWarzone did in fact notice a set of Nukes now on the island.

Should we, or anyone in the community find anything else we will be sure to let you all know. Hopefully there’s enough hidden stuff to keep us busy until the second part of the Destruction of Verdansk event arrives. Let us know if you guys spot any clues in the Warzone Rebirth nighttime variant!
