Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Has Been Delayed to November

It appears Resident Evil fans will have to wait a bit longer to enter the world of survival horror in cinemas again, as Sony Pictures has announced that Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City has been delayed from its September release to November instead.

According to Variety, the delay of the new Resident Evil reboot film was due to Sony not wanting to clash with another big release — namely Disney and Marvel Studios “Shang Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings.”

Sony has delayed the release of “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.” The apocalyptic horror film is now scheduled for Nov. 24.

“Resident Evil” was previously set for Sept. 3, which is the same day that Disney is currently expected to open the Marvel adventure “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” It stands to reason that Sony would want to space out “Resident Evil” from a big-budget superhero movie, especially since moviegoing has been slow to return in the U.S.

As a reboot of the Resident Evil film franchise, Welcome to Raccoon City will adapt the storyline from the first two games and will feature fan favorite characters such as Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon S. Kennedy, and Claire Redfield — being more faithful to the source material than the Paul W.S. Anderson films.

In related Resident Evil news, a new promotional image has been released for Resident Evil Village that shows off a new mystery character.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is now scheduled for release in theaters on November 24.

Knockout City Crossplay Beta Scheduled Announced

Get ready to dish it out in dodgeball-style multiplayer matches whether it be consoles or PC, as Velan Studios and EA have announced that the Knockout City cross-play open beta is scheduled from April 2 to 4 — giving access to previous beta content as well as adding new stuff.

Here’s the details on the latest beta from the Knockout City team via press release.

Electronic Arts and Velan Studios announced this weekend’s beta* for the upcoming team-based, dodgeball-inspired multiplayer action game, Knockout City™, will be open to all players worldwide to download and play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Origin, Steam and the newly added Epic Games Store, plus the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S through backwards compatibility. Taking place from April 2-4, the beta will support cross-play and cross-progression across all nine of those platforms, giving friends a chance to play together and get into the action ahead of the game’s launch on May 21. Knockout City brings intense battles to players as they master the art of throwing, catching, passing and dodging in a highly competitive experience, with joyful surprises popping up around every corner.

In the Cross-Play open beta, players will have access to everything they loved from the first beta — the Moon, Cage and Bomb Balls, the Concussion Yard, Rooftop Rumble, and Knockout Roundabout locations and Team KO playlist — with even more new content. This weekend will introduce the Sniper Ball, Back Alley Brawl map, 1v1 Face-Off and Diamond Dash playlists and fresh style options. With a total of four maps, five playable balls, three playlists and a ton of customization options, this second beta will have dodgebrawlers on their toes all weekend long. Private Matches will also be available to set up custom matches against friends, or some foes.

Here is the playlist schedule for the upcoming weekend:

  • Team KO

    • Start time: April 2 at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 3 p.m. CEST / 10 p.m. JST
    • End time: April 4 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT / 3 a.m. CEST / 10 a.m. JST
  • Face-Off

    • Start time: April 2 at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 3 p.m. CEST / 10 p.m. JST

Knockout City will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 21.

Rumor: Alan Wake 2 in Development by Remedy and Epic Games

One of Microsoft’s creepiest action-adventure properties may get a new lease in life if this rumor holds water, as Alan Wake 2 is reportedly in development by Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games — bringing back hopes of a sequel to the 2010 game originally released for the Xbox 360 and subsequently getting a PC release in 2012.

According to Game Mess Show’s Jeff Grubb which was also shared by Nibel, Epic Games is going to fund Remedy in producing an Alan Wake sequel. According to Grubb, there was a bidding war between different companies in order to get the rights to the Alan Wake IP, but in the end it was Epic Games that came out on top and are going to work in Remedy to work on their new project — which is Alan Wake 2 according to the video game streamer.

https://twitter.com/Nibellion/status/1377312988990955524?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1377312988990955524%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbloody-disgusting.com%2Fvideo-games%2F3658290%2Frumour-remedy-working-with-epic-games-on-alan-wake-2%2F

Originally after the release of the first game, Remedy was set to work on Alan Wake 2 and produce a true sequel after releasing DLC for the first game. Unfortunately Microsoft opted to focus on something else and the result was the new game Quantum Break.

Remedy also released the game Control — which they stated was part of the Remedy connected universe along with Alan Wake. That was touched upon with the Control AWE DLC we reported on a while back.

COD Warzone Stim Glitch Is Back Again After Season 2 Reloaded 1.34 Update

One of the most annoying Call of Duty Warzone glitches, the COD Warzone Stim Glitch, is back once again with the recent season 2 Reloaded Warzone 1.34 update.

Reports of the Warzone stim glitch returning flooded Reddit early in the morning hours when the update became available, with multiple users posting video confirmation. A bug that has plagued Warzone since it first launch last year, Raven Software has been on a constant with patching it out. However, it seems that it keeps getting overlooked in nearly every major update, with the latest adding it back in once again.

The stim glitch/duplicating your tactical item glitch is 100% back
byu/SpaceCommanderNix inCODWarzone

by inCODWarzone

For those unaware of what the Warzone Stim glitch is, essentially it’s a glitch revolving around the Stim health gadget that allows players to live through the poisonous gas ring that closes in on players during Warzone. Basically a player can ride it out to the very end of a match in order to be the last survivor. Not a very fun glitch to deal, especially when legit players end up being the “last” squad only to have it taken away from a cheater.

Expect to see Raven Software fix the COD Warzone stim glitch yet again in an upcoming hotfix. This would be their seventh time fixing the exploit, and one has to question why it keeps on coming back.

Chivarly 2 Cross-Play Closed Beta Announced, Console Pre-Orders Now Available

Prepare to battle in an epic medieval fantasy game and clash swords in a multiplayer set up, as Torn Banner Studios, Tripwire, and Deep Silver have announced that Chivalry 2  cross-play closed beta runs from April 23 to 26, with console pre-orders now available for the game!

Two new videos promoting the game have been released by the Chivalry 2 developers – the Mason Order faction trailer and the Agatha Knights faction trailer.

Here’s the details on what you can expect from then upcoming closed beta next month.

Chivalry 2 also supports free cross-generational upgrades from current-gen versions when you upgrade to a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S system.

To celebrate this news, and to prepare players for the upcoming Cross-Play Closed Beta, Torn Banner has released two all-new videos detailing each of the battling factions featured in Chivalry 2. The Mason Order – For the Red and Black! Inspired by the virtues of strength, merit and dominance, the Mason Order has no respect for the weak and seek to crush any who oppose them. The Agatha Knights – For the Blue and Gold! The Agatha Knights are instilled with a strong sense of loyalty, duty and honor, and believe themselves to be the rightful rulers of the land.

Additional details on what players can expect from the upcoming Chivalry 2 Cross-Play Closed Beta include:

  • Cross-Play Across All Platforms: Cross-Play smashes the boundaries between PC and console, allowing players to face-off on the battlefield together, regardless of platform.
  • Size Matters: Experience the chaos of epic medieval battlefields, charge forth to the frontlines of battle, and experience true mass-scale combat supporting up to 64-players designed to capture the intensity and scope of “The Battle of the Bastards” from Game of Thrones.
  • Master Blade, Bow, or… Chicken: Your arsenal expands with the new subclass system that provides more variety than ever before. Four base classes expand to 12 subclasses, including the Skirmisher, a melee/ranged hybrid – to the Poleman, a fighter who keeps foes at bay with long-distance melee.
  • The World is Your Weapon: Own the field with a variety of heavy siege engines including Ballistae, Catapults, Trebuchet, Battering Rams, Mantlets, Spike Traps, Ladders and more. Utilize traps to defend, including spikes, bear traps, and more. You can even deal damage with a smorgasbord of “found items” on the battlefield. Try downing a cup of mead and deal a killing blow with the empty chalice or finish off a foe by smashing him in the face with a flaming chicken!
  • New Map – The Siege of Rudhelm: In the first public hands-on of Chivalry 2 since PAX East 2020, experience the return of the fan-favorite Team Objective mode and join attacking or defending teams as 64-players vie for control of a well-fortified castle in a never-before-seen map.

  • Many Modes: In addition to Team Objective mode, closed beta participants can also sharpen their skills in a variety of other modes, including Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All.

Additionally, the press release also details what console players can get by pre-ordering the game.

Both retail and digital console pre-orders are live today for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 computer entertainment systems, the Xbox One family of devices, and the Xbox Series X/S console systems for both the standard edition of Chivalry 2 (MSRP $39.99, €39.99, £34.99) and the Chivalry 2: Special Edition (MRSP $49.99, €49.99, £44.99). All digital pre-orders for both console and PC (via Epic Games Store) include guaranteed access to the Chivalry 2 Cross-Play Closed Beta, scheduled to run from Friday, April 23 at 10:30am EDT through Monday, April 26 at 10:30pm EDT.

Chivalry 2 will offer pre-order incentives across the standard and special editions. The standard edition pre-order of Chivalry 2, available for both digital and retail, will grant players the Royal Zweihänder weapon skin. The Special Edition, offered for digital pre-order only, comes with additional exclusive items in addition to the Royal Zweihander weapon skin, to further enhance the Chivalry 2 gameplay experience.

We previously reported that Chivalry 2 held its PC closed beta on March, with the game still due for release this June 8 for consoles and PC.

Black Ops Cold War Update 1.15 March 31 Fires Out (Update #3)

While Call of Duty fans might have just gotten a huge download for the big Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Reloaded patch, Treyarch has today released the Black Ops Cold War update 1.15 March 31 patch which is live now including next-gen platforms. This is a small download clocking in at just 300MB, so don’t expect anything major to be included in it.

Black Ops Cold War Update 1.15 March 31 Patch Notes:

Update #3: After hours of having the patch out in the wild, Treyarch has finally released the official patch notes!

GLOBAL

Features

  • Calling Card Showcase
    • Choose up to three Calling Cards to display in your Showcase, now available in the Player Identity menu at the Barracks.

Operators

  • Wolf
    • Wolf Operator Bundle now available in the Store.

UI

  • Addressed an issue where a pop-up message stating “Quitting with 3 or fewer players on your team will result in a loss and a ladder point penalty” could erroneously appear when attempting to join on a friend.

MULTIPLAYER

Maps

  • Miami Strike
    • Addressed an issue where attackers/defenders could spawn on the same spawn side in CDL Custom Games.

Daily Challenges

  • The “Junked” Daily Challenge now tracks progress for destroying enemy Field Upgrades by interacting with them, not just by shooting them.

Stability

  • Fixed a rare crash related to players joining a match in progress in Search and Destroy.
  • Fixed a rare crash in Multi-Team related to radiation clouds.

CODCaster

  • Addressed an issue where CODCaster could be selected in non-team-based modes.

ZOMBIES

Menus

  • Moved the Private Match Server Pause feature to an option in the Pause menu to allow the host of a match to apply a Blueprint from the Pause menu without inadvertently pausing the match.

Outbreak

  • Stability
    • Fixed crashes related to Krasny Soldat and zombie pathfinding.
  • Gameplay
    • Addressed an issue where a player’s vehicle would not take damage when running into Special or Elite enemies.
  • Addressed an issue that caused jetpack flames to appear on an HVT when their jetpack was not in use.

Onslaught (PS4/PS5)

  • Addressed a progression break that could occur when killing a zombie immediately after the Surge incremented.

The studio has also revealed what’s set to come next week, too!

INCOMING NEXT WEEK

Like all season launches and mid-season updates, this first week is just the beginning. We’re delivering even more features and content throughout next week, including:

  • The launch of Gunsmith Customs, allowing players to create, name, and save their own custom Blueprints by mixing and matching attachments from Blueprints of the same weapon type.
  • The deadly new ZRG 20mm sniper rifle to add to your arsenal.
  • The debut of Gunfight Tournaments with exclusive rewards to earn.
  • Plus, the newly updated Gunfight Blueprints mode featuring a fresh collection of Season Two Weapon Blueprints to wield.

Update #2: Sad to say, it seems the camo launcher challenges are still bugged! This has not been fixed in today’s patch per the community:

Destroy 3 scorestreaks camo not registering properly
byu/mnevin19 inblackopscoldwar

Update: Treyarch has still not given the official notes, but has mentioned of another fix that came in today:

Known issue: When attempting to join on a friend, players may see an erroneous pop-up message: “Quitting with 3 or fewer players on your team will result in a loss and a ladder point penalty.”

This can be dismissed by selecting “Quit Match” without any effect on your account.

Update: The pop-up message issue above should no longer occur in-game.

For now, Treyarch has not commented on what the patch officially is for, but checking the official Black Ops Cold War Trello board, the studio has marked launcher camo challenges as an issue the studio is tracking:

Launchers: Science Camo Challenges are not tracking progression.

Description

We are aware of, and tracking, this issue. Thank you for the reports.

So far, that’s all we’ve seen. We’re monitoring the Black Ops Cold War community, and if we hear of any new changes or fixes implemented, we’ll update the post.

If you spot any gameplay-related changes and whatnot, let us know what you find down in the comments.

For those wondering, this patch won’t have anything to do with Warzone, as Raven Software handles the patches for that, and this is tied with Modern Warfare rather than Black Ops Cold War.

Resident Evil Village New Promotional Image Shows Mystery Character, Japanese Version Will Be Censored

It’s more than a month to go before we dive into the world of Survival Horror once more, as Resident Evil Village continues to hype up the fans as the game gets a new promotional image!

As shared by Twitter user Masa, the new promotional image is from Japan and features a new look at returning protagonist Chris Redfield as he carries Rose — the baby of RE7 lead Ethan Winters (also featured in the poster) and his wife Mia. The image also shows a new helmeted masked character who hasn’t been introduced yet. You can check it out below.

Speaking of Japan, the Japanese version of the game however will be censored! According to Resident Evil fan and game writer Alex Aniel aka cvxfreak — the Japanese version of RE Village aka Biohazard Village will be censored. This is in accordance with the CERO rating system in Japan, which is the country’s version of the ESRB. As a result and even with the game getting a high mature rating, the Japanese version will have no decapitations, less blood, and other restrictions.

Don’t forget about the RE Showcase digital event happening some time this April. Stay tune for more announcements.

Resident Evil Village will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC this May 7.

Thanks, Biohazard Declassified!

Zombie Army 4: Dead War | PS4

That’s not a bad list. In other PlayStation news, if you’re still playing your PSP, Vita or PS3, you might want to get the games and DLCs for those titles ASAP, as Sony is closing the store for those platforms soon.

No Man’s Sky Update 3.31 for March 31 Introduces Expeditions Mode

Hello Games has released No Man’s Sky Update 3.31 for March 31, which introduces an all new expedition mode along with a number of bug fixes and optimizations across every platform.

The big feature of No Man’s Sky Update 3.31 (dubbed by Hello Games as the “3.3” update) is the new Expeditions mode that offers players a new way to play the game. A trailer showcasing the mode can be found below as with the complete 3.3 patch notes.

No Man’s Sky Update 3.31 March 31 Patch Notes:

EXPEDITION MODE

  • Expedition Mode is a new game mode, accessed by starting a new game.
  • In Expedition Mode there is no tutorial and the Artemis mission path does not automatically begin.
  • In Expedition mode players start with a randomised ship, Multi-Tool and character customisation set. Their starting technology is also randomised.
  • Every player beginning an expedition starts on the same planet.
  • Expeditions are time limited. Players have a fixed period in which to complete a unique set of new challenges. Completing challenges awards a mission patch and unlocks rewards to assist your progress. These challenges, called milestones, can be undertaken in any order.
  • The Expedition Page will show all earned mission patches, as well as track key exploration stats.
  • Milestones can be pinned as your active mission via the Expedition Page, which offers targeted guidance towards their goal.
  • Several milestones require a visit to a Rendezvous Point. These are specific points in the galaxy at which all players are required to check in in order to complete the expedition.
  • Milestones are grouped into phases. Completing all the milestones in a phase will unlock exclusive rewards, such as new customisation options.
  • The phase rewards for the first expedition include a new style of firework, a new banner, a new title, a new base part, an exclusive golden First Spawn helmet, a new jetpack style and a golden version of the iconic Alpha Vector starship.
  • Once unlocked, these rewards can be redeemed on any save by visiting the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion on the Space Anomaly.
  • When the time available to complete the expedition is up, no further rewards will be earned. However, the save will convert into a Normal Mode save and can be used to continue playing.
  • Some milestones award inventory slots. These can be redeemed immediately or their token brought to the Space Station and applied via the Exosuit Upgrade Terminal.
  • On key expedition planets, protections have been put in place so that resource collection is not synchronized across the entire playerbase, preventing exhaustion of the planet.

TARGET SWEEP

  • Added a new mode to the Analysis Visor, the Target Sweep.
  • Missions where the location of the target building is not immediately clear will no longer automatically lead players directly to the building. Instead, they will direct players to the approximate area on the correct planet.
  • When players exit their ship in the correct area, they can now use the Analysis Visor to search for the exact mission location.
  • Players may still use their eyes to locate the correct building from the air or whilst on foot.
  • Many missions across the entire game have been reworked to make use of the Target Sweep mechanic.
  • The Living Ship/Starbirth missions now use a long-range Target Sweep instead of requiring players to manually search coordinates.
  • When a mission requires players collect items from specific planetary objects – such as sac venom, harvestable plants, or ancient bones – the Target Sweep will automatically detect such objects and assist in their location.
  • Players can pin specific objects from the catalogue to gain the assistance of the Target Sweep in locating them.

TWITCH DROPS

  • Support has been added for Twitch Drops campaigns. Watch your favourite streamers and earn in-game rewards!
  • The first Twitch Drop campaign runs from April 1st – April 5th 2021.
  • Sign up and learn more at https://twitch.nomanssky.com

WEEKEND EVENTS

  • Weekend events have been re-enabled.
  • Weekend events are now generated procedurally.
  • Each weekend event will still send the entire community to a selected planet.
  • Weekend events continue to award significant amounts of quicksilver.

MISSION BOARD

  • The space station mission listings UI has been completely overhauled.
  • The mission listings UI now more clearly displays the rewards and standing on offer for each mission.
  • The mission listings UI now more clearly displays the faction that has commissioned the mission.
  • Significantly improved the value and diversity of mission board rewards.
  • Text and objective clarity in all mission board missions has been significantly improved.
  • Missions involving repairing or locating missing targets have been reworked to incorporate the Target Sweep mechanic.
  • Completely reworked the pirate-hunting missions to more clearly direct the player towards a specific target.
  • Completely reworked the creature/flora/mineral scanning missions to direct the player to complete surveys on undiscovered worlds.
  • Fixed a number of progression blockers that could occur if the player was sent to destroy a depot that had previously been destroyed.
  • Photo missions will now precisely direct players towards an appropriate location to take their photo.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause delivery-style missions to permanently block the use of an outpost trade terminal.

NEXUS MISSIONS

  • The Target Sweep mechanic has been incorporated into a number of multiplayer missions.
  • Added a stage to ensure players are flying nearby each to each other at the start of pirate hunt multiplayer missions.
  • Rescue-style multiplayer missions now require players to look inside buried technology modules instead of the rarer salvageable scrap satellites.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause incorrect numbers to appear in the mission description of Nexus missions.
  • Fixed a number of issues in depot raid Nexus missions that could cause progress to desync.
  • Fixed a number of issues where depots that have been previously destroyed could block mission progress.
  • Fixed a number of issues where separate groups undertaking the same multiplayer mission at the same location could influence each others’ mission progress.
  • Fixed an issue where the symbol for a weekend event could incorrectly appear while the player was disconnected from the servers.
  • Added some conclusion text to the end of discovery multiplayer missions.
  • Added guidance to escape sentinel attention at the end of depot raid multiplayer missions.

HUD

  • The HUD has been completely overhauled for a fresher, modern look.
  • The new HUD has been scaled to look sharp when the game is running at 4K.
  • All markers in the game have been completely redesigned.
  • Mission markers are now drawn in a different style from building/planetary chart icons, to help players navigate more easily in busy systems.
  • Many markers now change size dynamically to reduce visual clutter.
  • The offsets and light-beams for markers have been visually improved.
  • Many rare planetary items have been given their own bespoke markers, to aid identification at a distance.

BALANCE AND QOL

  • Players can now use the Quick Menu to switch their primary starship while docked at the Space Anomaly.
  • The Quicksilver Synthesis Companion on the Space Anomaly now allows quicker access to the shop.
  • The cost of repairing broken technology on planetary drop-pods has been significantly reduced.
  • The cost of repairing damaged slots on salvaged starships and recovered Multi-Tools has been reduced.
  • The cost of building Exocraft garages has been reduced.
  • The amount of metal mined from planetary resource deposits has been increased.
  • The economy-related price volatility has been reduced for Gravitino Balls and other similar planetary items.
  • The pinning system has been significantly improved. Pinning damaged components within a technology now results in more accurate and useful instructions.
  • The pinning system now correctly advances past steps where the subcomponent has already been completed or the required items have already been gathered.
  • The pinning system now correctly differentiates between repairs and installs and displays the correct text and item requirements.
  • When pinning items that can be found on planets (such as Sac Venom), a target will be added to the Analysis Visor’s Target Sweep to assist in locating the item.
  • Repair instructions for damaged technologies can now be pinned even if that inventory is currently inaccessible.
  • All products in the catalogue can now be pinned.
  • The damage dealt by starship rockets has been significantly increased.
  • Fixed a number of occasions where the starship reported no valid landing locations when trying to land on the planet surface but near to buildings.
  • Fixed an issue where the pulse drive would lock onto the space station despite the ship being aligned with a planet.

BALANCE

Developer Commentary: Yagorath is heavily influencing the meta and play rates of champions at all skill levels – we are seeing that most overperforming champions have mechanics that either counter, or compliment her very well. For now we would like to bring Yagoraths power level down and see where other Champions fall, so balance will be minimal for the release of PTS. More balance adjustments may come based on PTS performance.

Barik

  • Health
    • Reduced Health 4,000 ➡️ 3,400

Developer Commentary: Based on Bariks current performance we are reverting his health buff from last patch.

Yagorath

  • Talent
    • Corrosive Acid
      • Reduced Caustic Spray initial hit damage 48 ➡️ 42
  • Passive
    • Armored Carapace
      • Base Damage Reduction decreased 40% ➡️ 35%
  • Inhand
    • Caustic Spray
      • Reduced initial hit damage 42 ➡️ 36
  • Ultimate
    • Devour
      • Reduced base Ultimate Health pool 4000 ➡️ 3500

Developer Commentary: Giant space worm is strong.

TRIALS OF THE REALM – GAME ON

Trials of the Realm is Paladin’s newest challenge system replacing the Battle Pass Challenges, featuring weekly quests for players to tackle each patch. Completing your Trials unlocks a variety of cosmetic, currency, and XP rewards, with every Event Pass featuring a fresh set of Challenges and rewards.

REGIONS:

Trials of the Realm can be accessed from a new menu option on the Paladins home page.

When you first open the Trials menu, there will be 8 regions that all correspond to a location on the Paladins World Map.

When a major patch goes live, players will only have access to the first Region, but each week a new region will unlock, opening up new challenges and rewards. A timer on the World Map and Region List will show how long before the next region is unlocked.

CHALLENGE HUBS:

To start your Trials open up any of the regions that have been unlocked – there you will find 3 different sets of challenges, each with their own reward, represented by an iconic Paladins location.

These locations are unlocked with tickets displayed at the bottom of any region you open. Each patch you will start with two tickets, and completing a set of challenges grants you both the reward for that location and a new ticket. Open up any of the three locations inside a region, select unlock, and you will start progressing your trials!

REWARDS:

Each set of Trials you complete has a unique reward tied to it. Whether you want crystals, avatars, Event Pass Levels, or chests – the order you unlock the rewards is determined by you!

  • 300 Total Crystals
  • 7 Total Game On Event Pass Levels
  • 60,000 Total Gold

MVP Poses

  • Striking Snake – Mal’ Damba

GENERAL

Mortal Kombat Movie Delayed A Week, Will Now Hit Theaters and HBO Max on April 23

Looks like the warriors and fans of the Mortal Kombat world will have to be a bit more patient before they see their beloved fighters in the big screen, as Mortal Kombat Movie has been delayed a week by Warner Bros. — and will now hit theaters and HBO Max on April 23.

As reported by Variety, the postponement of Mortal Kombat’s release is likely due to giving another WB release in Godzilla Vs Kong more time to screen, as well as allowing more theaters to open so the film can generate a wider audience.

“Mortal Kombat,” an adaptation of the popular video game, has been delayed a week.

The Warner Bros. fantasy-action film was originally scheduled for April 16 and is instead coming out on April 23. It will premiere both in movie theaters and on HBO Max.

The postponement comes the day before Warner Bros. plans to release another tentpole, “Godzilla vs. Kong.” Film exhibitors have been optimistic about the arrival of the big-budget clash of the titans, which has already done notable business overseas. “Godzilla vs. Kong” has made $121 million at the international box office to date. It’s done especially well in China, generating $70 million on opening weekend. By pushing “Mortal Kombat,” the studio hopes to space out the potential blockbusters in an effort to avoid cannibalizing ticket sales.

Speaking about Mortal Kombat Movie, check out what characters were cut out according to the film’s producer.

Mortal Kombat will now hit theaters and HBO Max on April 23.

CD Projekt Red Reaffirms The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Will Be Out in 2021, The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Teased

Geralt of Rivia fans who want to play the character’s adventures for newer systems can rest easy, as CD Projekt Red reaffirms that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next gen will be out in the second half of 2021 — just as The Witcher 4 gets teased!

In a tweet made by the lead PR manager of CD Projekt Red named Radek, the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 is expected to hit this year for those who already own the game as well as being available as a stand alone purchase for newcomers.

Meanwhile The Witcher 4 has reportedly been teased along with a possible Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, as CD Projekt Red has announced that parallel AAA development will start some time in 2022 — while also putting out images that feature the backs of Geralt and V, aka the two protagonists of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 respectively.

While this image does not confirm or state that they are actually The Witcher 4 and the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, it’s a good bet to speculate that they could be just that or follow-ups/ spin-offs at the very least. The Witcher series has already proven itself to be a massively popular IP that CD Projekt Red can bank on, while Cyberpunk 2077’s disappointing launch and numerous game breaking bugs have left the game in a sorry state. Getting a sequel at those point would be too early since the first game needs to be fixed first — but it would also help CD Projekt Red in the road to redemption and recovery after that devastating launch.

Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, Patch 1.20 already went live and has fixed numerous bugs in the game — which you can read about here.

Rumor: World War 2 Warzone Map Incoming for COD 2021, Will Be Similar to Rebirth Island

With rumors stating that this year’s Call of Duty will once again see players back in World War 2, some might be wondering how that will fit into Call of Duty: Warzone. If this recent rumor is anything to go by, it looks like COD 2021 will indeed introduce a World War 2 Warzone map, though don’t expect a full-fledged map that will replace Verdansk.

In Tom Henderson’s latest newsletter, the reliable Call of Duty leaker has mentioned that Sledgehammer Games started work on Call of Duty: Vanguard back in August 2019, and some of that were done at home due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. In terms of integrating into Call of Duty: Warzone, Henderson claims that we will see a World War 2 Warzone map sometime in 2022, though it won’t be a full-scale map, but instead be similar to Black Ops Cold War’s Rebirth Island.

First of all, I can confirm that we are 100% not getting a World War 2 Warzone map in 2021. In fact, we’re likely to see some kind of WW2 Warzone map around April 2022 (1 year from now). Since the botched map release of Black Ops Cold War’s Warzone map (which was meant to release months ago), it’s my understanding that Warzone will now face a big mid-year update.
Although official development of such a map hasn’t started, rumblings suggest that the map will not actually be a full-fledged Warzone map, but instead be similar to Rebirth Island, with 40-60 players and developed by a different studio in collaboration with Sledgehammer Games.

The rumor also touches on the integration of Vanguard’s weapons in Warzone, and mentions how it could be different this year. Instead of Vanguard multiplayer weapons being integrated into Warzone in one drop like what happened in Black Ops Cold War, the weapons will be introduced periodically throughout the lifecyle of Vanguard. This is being changed to further incentivize players to buy Blueprints, or purchase Vanguard in order to finish multiplayer challenges faster, so they can be used in Warzone (Vanguard weapons available on day one could come to Warzone as DLC, but will require players to unlock them via in-game challenges).

Additionally, Henderson states that the Warzone and Vanguard integration would have been more simple, but due to Black Ops Cold War’s delayed integration, and development hiccups, Activision and the developers are thinking of compromises.

Again, same with any rumor that hasn’t been confirmed by Activision or the devs, treat this with a grain of salt. Henderson himself notes that it is “too early” to give concrete info on what’s happening with Warzone and Vanguard, as nothing has been finalized yet.

Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Being “Reconsidered” by CDPR, Now Plans on Bringing Online to All Franchises

While Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player action-RPG, the fact that CD Projekt RED (CDPR) was developing a Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer component was public knowledge, with the studio even stating that they are deploying the company’s biggest team to develop it. Well, it seems things have changed.

In today’s CDPR “Strategy Update,” President and joint CEO Adam Kicinski mentioned that Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer is now being “reconsidered” though he didn’t outright say it was cancelled. Kicinski also mentioned how the studio is now planning on bringing all their franchises online in the future.

Previously we hinted that our next AAA would be a multiplayer Cyberpunk game but we have decided to reconsider this plan given our new more systematic and agile approach instead of primarily focusing on one big online experience or game we are focusing on bringing online into all of our franchises one day

Given the state Cyberpunk 2077 is in, I suspect most fans would rather the studio focus on fixing the game first rather than release a Cyberpunk-themed multiplayer. That said, it’s not outright mentioned as cancelled, though from the sounds of it, CDPR will somehow integrate online (which usually means multiplayer of some kind) into all their games in the near future.

Speaking of fixing, CDPR released a hefty patch yesterday that included a ton of fixes! Check it out here.

Daunting Games Podcast Episode #1: Chatting With Halo Canon

Ever run into a game series that looks fun but has so much backstory and lore from past games that it seems impossible to get into?

Welcome to Daunting Games — MP1st’s newest podcast, This new podcast talks to lore experts about the backstory and how newer fans can enjoy games with a long history. Every month we will cover a new game (or two) with an expert (or experts) in that game’s backstory and lore. We hope you will join us on this journey to uncover many of the untold or unknown stories from games that might make you think, “wow, this isn’t that confusing.”

Our first episode brings a game series that has been around 20 years. With tons of books, comics and games surrounding it, Xbox’s flagship series, Halo, can be challenging to jump into. Our guest is Ian Browning Smith, also known as Halo Canon. With over 180,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, Halo Canon has followed the series for years with videos on everything from the games to the less known books. His expertise in Halo lore and extensive knowledge of the entire Halo universe makes him an ideal guest to help people who are a bit nervous jumping into a series with so much backstory.

So please sit back, relax and join in on our first of many deep dives into Daunting Games. We already have a second episode shot, and a hint is the lore of this game is a bit “Evil.” I might have made it a bit too obvious, but it’s an outstanding series.

PS: This episode might have some audio issues on the host’s end (myself) because I decided not to make sure my microphone was plugged in. So the audio may seem of lower quality, but it has been fixed for the next episodes in the series.

Host: Kyle Hooper (MP1st) follow on Twitter @hoopstar245

Guest Host: Ian Browning Smith (Halo Canon) follow on Twitter @toa_freak

That’s all for episode 1 of Daunting Games! If you enjoyed this episode or have any suggestions, please let us know in the comments down below! The next episode will be right around the corner and take a look at one of Capcom’s most successful franchises.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 Update for March 30 Fixes Xbox Series Crashes

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 recently launched on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S this week, and while things seemed pretty okay for PlayStation gamers, the Xbox Series version of the game suffered from a title crash, preventing players from playing the game unless offline. Thankfully though, a new Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 Update update for March 30 has been issued, fixing the skateboarding game’s Xbox Series crashes.

The update (Revision # 1.0.342.6303), which was a small download for Xbox Series owners has been issued for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2, and while Activision or Vicarious Visions have yet to provide an official changelog, multiple user reports confirm that the game is now playable on the Xbox Series X and S.

PATCHED! THPS 1&2 fixed for Xbox Series X|S!
byu/Livan043 inXboxSeriesX

Xbox Series X — title update just now fixed freeze issue for me
byu/CRIP4LIFE inTHPS

For those who got the game digitally originally this wasn’t much of an issue considering the upgrade was free. However, if you had picked up a physical version of the game on last-gen platforms, there was a $10 purchase of the cross-gen bundle required in order to receive the upgraded next-gen version on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. Understandably, Xbox owners weren’t too happy when launch came as the game as has a title crash with the only known workaround being to play offline, which even still didn’t work for everyone.

It’s good to know that the fix has arrived so quickly after launch, and hopefully anyone wanting to catch some air on the Xbox Series Consoles can do so now.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 is now available on next-gen platforms. If you haven’t yet, be sure to read up on our review of the remakes here: MP1st Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 Review.
