Black Ops Cold War Season 1 New Mall Map Images Surface, References Back to the Future

In today’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 cinematic trailer released by Activision, a new map was shown off that should be part of the Season 1 roll out, and it’s set inside a mall! Thanks to leaks and observant gamers, we now know a few more details regarding this Black Ops Cold War Season 1 new mall map!

Courtesy of reliable Call of Duty leaker/dataminer MW2 OG, a bunch of screenshots showcasing the mall map has surfaced!

It seems the name of this map will be “Mall at the Pines” which is a reference to the mall shown in the movie “Back to the Future.” Note that Black Ops Cold War is set in the ’80s, which is when Back to the Future is set as well. The Black Ops Cold War new mall map has a similar logo and name as the one in Back to the Future, which you can see below as well.

Don’t forget, in addition to the mall map, players are also getting Black Ops 2’s Raid map as part of the Season 1 roll out! At the very least, in case the mall map isn’t your thing, Raid should do the trick since it’s one of the best Call of Duty maps of all-time (in my opinion).

Alongside the new maps, Treyarch confirmed that we’ll be getting new weapons, new scorestreaks and more as well! And of course, the integration of Call of Duty: Warzone will be part of the Season 1 roll out as well.

Black Ops Cold War Season 1 will start on December 16 on all platforms.

Street Fighter 5 Fighting EX Layer Crossover Costume Turns G Into Skullomania

Street Fighter fans and players who have consistently participated in the Extra Battle missions in Street Fighter 5 are going to get something pretty nostalgic and sweet, as the newest crossover costume that will become available this week will be none other than Skullomania from Fighting EX Layer!

Here’s the Tweet sent straight out from the Street Fighter team themselves.

First making his appearance way back in December 1996 when Capcom and Arika teamed up to develop the 2.5D Street Fighter series known as “Street Fighter EX”, Skullomania is a third-rate businessman who turns into a hero by donning a skull themed suit and fighting for the side of justice. The character serves as a tribute to the popular Tokusatsu genre of heroes such as Kamen Rider, as is actually inspired by “The Skull Man” created by the legendary manga artist Shotaro Ishinormi. Skullomania would continue to appear in the Street Fighter EX series all the way until the final release in Street Fighter EX 3 for the PS2, after which he would make his long awaited return alongside the other original characters created by Arika in the company’s own fighting game called Fighting EX Layer.

Be sure to read more news and features about Street Fighter right here on MP1st.

The Skullomania costume can be won for a limited time in Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition’s Extra Battle mode starting December 8.

Cyberpunk 2077 Preload For PS4 and PC Begins Rolling Out

The Cyberpunk 2077 preload has officially begun rolling on the PS4, along with the PC version on GoG.

For PlayStation gamers, the Cyberpunk 2077 preload weighs in 102gb (depending on region). This was confirmed over on Reddit as a PSN user residing in New Zealand has begun downloading the preload. For those who have pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4, but reside in North America, the preload will be going live tonight at 12am ET. Other countries should also be available throughout the day as those respective regions hit the 8th.

Do note that this download size is also the same for those planning to play on PS5 as the version that will be available at launch for the console is that of the PS4. While it has been confirmed that the title will receive a dedicated next-gen version for free, no details have been provided as to when we could expect this version to release. So for PS5 players out there, the version that will be playable will be using the PS4 Pro enhancements plus the backwards compatibility advantages found on the PS5.

For PC who pre-order from GoG.com, you’ll also be excited to know that the preload has also begun with the current file size weighing around 60gb (also depends on region). Steam version will be available in a few short hours.

https://twitter.com/GOGcom/status/1335903947580641281?s=19

It is currently assumed that the download size for the preload is smaller than that of the PS4 version due to it potentially lacking the day one update. Xbox players should have already been given the option to preload almost a week ago.

An interesting message for those who pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 off of GoG, the game can be “launched” though CD Projekt Red have included the following screen for those that do attempt to play early.

https://imgur.com/a/4gww7Xr

“Go back to sleep, Samurai, it’s not currently December 10th yet!”

A pretty fun little Easter Egg. Cyberpunk 2077 will officially be available on December 10, worldwide. Down below you’ll find the global launch for PC and Stadia, with some regions being playable on the December 9. PS4 players in North America can expect the game to be playable at 12aM eastern time on December 10.

Be sure to check back here later as we will have a full review of Cyberpunk 2077 shortly after launch!

      • Fixed an issue where being killed by the effects of Necrotic Grip would show as being “Killed by the Architects.”

Monster Hunter Movie Features Controversial Joke That Causes Backlash to Franchise

Big controversy in brewing the world of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise, as Monster Hunter World is receiving a lot of Review Bombs in China thanks to a very controversial joke that appeared in the new Monster Hunter movie directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring his wife — Resident Evil films star Milla Jovovich.

Shared by Daniel Ahmed on his Twitter page, the racist sounding joke was featured in a scene between two soldiers — where one asked “What are my knees? What kind of knees are these? Chi-knees.”

As Deadline reports, the Monster Hunter movie has been pulled from Chinese cinemas because of the tasteless attempt at a joke —  and an attempt is now being made to remedy the situation and edit out the scene altogether. Capcom has also released a statement trying to distance themselves from the film, which Ahmad also shared on Twitter.

Just as the film just opened and is now gone thanks to the controversy, Monster Hunter could be facing a very big loss in the millions on the Chinese box office. The joke has also affected the reputation of the games in the country, as Monster Hunter World has been the subject or review bombs  — negatively impacting the game’s image on Steam and a lot of comments referencing the racist joke from the film. It doesn’t help that Milla Jovovich’s character Captain Natalie Artemis is slated to be a DLC character in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne as a cross promotion for the film’s release.

Read up our other features on the Monster Hunter franchise here on MP1st.

The Monster Hunter film is slated to be released in US Theaters on December 25.

Black Ops Cold War New Scorestreaks, Raid Map Coming in Season 1, Report States AUG & M16 Nerfs Incoming

Following Activision’s announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s first season would be pushed back to its new start date on December 16, Call of Duty multiplayer game designer Tony Flame confirmed that we’ll see the return of Black Ops 2’s Raid in Season 1, as well as Black Ops Cold War new scorestreaksm weapons and more!

This announcement was made by Flame on Twitter, where he pointed to Raid as the big new addition in Season 1’s map pool.

In addition to the new stuff incoming, it seems the two most popular Tactical Rifles — the AUG and M16 — are getting nerfs soon, too! This was divulged by YouTuber LongSensation, which some people might remember as the first person to accurately leaked that Call of Duty 2019 would simply be called Modern Warfare (along with other info).

https://twitter.com/_TomHenderson_/status/1334250513857175560

Given how the AUG and M16 just shreds people up close and even long range, these two guns getting nerfed hard shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone who’s currently playing multiplayer.

As for the Black Ops Cold War new scorestreaks, the earlier list we posted from datamined sources pointed to a few ‘streaks that aren’t available in the game currently. Chances are high that a few of these ‘streaks will be making their way into Season 1 once it launches on December 16.

Battlefield 5 Babel Staircase Puzzle Guide & Info Overview, Here’s How to Get the Eidolon Skin

While there’s no new maps or weapons planned for Battlefield 5, that doesn’t mean DICE is giving up on the game when it comes to new content and experiences. In the latest update for the game released in November, DICE snuck in the Battlefield 5 Babel staircase puzzle/Easter egg that needs to be seen to be believed!

Players can try to do this little secret on Hamada, though you’ll need a few friends to help you on your quest completing it which will award the Eidolon skin! We’ve included a step-by-step guide on how to trigger this litte quest thanks to DannyonPC, whose video is embedded below too.

Battlefield 5 Babel Staircase Easter Egg:

Anywhere in the game menu your goal is to spell “teeet” in morse code.

Hold an arrow up for a second, then press it three times quickly, and then hold it up for a second for another time.

This can be done with either a keyboard or a controller.

If done correctly, the player should hear a triumphant sound blare for a quick second or two.

Once that sound plays, go to the Combined Arms section.

Get your party of four and enter The Challenge mode (Danny recommends two Supports and at least one Medic class)

Support class should have the AT grenade pistol, an ammo crate (not a pouch), and a Lewis LMG with an extended magazine

For Medics, use the Tromboncino to clear the barbed wire (or anything with lots of bullets)

Once that’s ready, find the gnome to get this mission started (it spawns at different pre-set locations every time):

Players can check out this Google document to know more about the steps needed to complete the tasks, as well as the gnome locations.

There are loads more steps to do, and I suggest watching the video below to know more about it:

Those who complete it, here’s the reward you’ll get (Eidolon character skin):

This is definitely a nice move by DICE to reward hardcore fans of Battlefield 5! For those looking forward to the next entry in the franchise, EA hasn’t named it yet officially, but has confirmed the game is in internal testing, and is on a “never-bef0re-seen” scale.

Sucker Punch Productions has released Ghost of Tsushima update 1.17 for December 5, which seems to be focused on some multiplayer related fixes. Clocking in at 800-900MB, this one is purely for fixes, so don’t expect any new content.

Here’s what the PS4 update history states:

Per the community, modded game saves for Legends multiplayer mode appears to have syncing issues with the serves (unverified.) Another thing mentioned is how melee Resolve is fixed now too.

These seem to be the standard placeholder patch notes that Sucker Punch Production use, outside of the new addition of “multiplayer improvements”. If the studio does release any official specific notes we will be sure to update this post with the full changelog. For now, we will be watchful of community feedback to see if any bugs were fixed (such as melee resolve bug) and/or balancing changes done to some of the gear.

Black Ops Cold War Krig 6 Gun Guide

Those looking for a little bit of help in building gun loadouts, we’re here to help with the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Krig 6 gun guide! Check out which attachments to use, which ones to avoid and more.

Thanks to Korean YouTuber Tiny wolf’s Gaming for the gun guide below, so make sure to check his YouTube channel. We’ll be featuring his gun guides more soon as well.

Black Ops Cold War Krig 6 Gun Guide:

Before you read on, here’s a quick refresher on what each acronym is:

Acronyms

  • TTK = Time to kill
  • BTK = Bullets to kill
  • AR = Assault Rifle
  • LMG = Light Machine Gun
  • SMG = Submachine Gun
  • ADS: Aim Down sight Speed
  • Sprint out: Sprint to Fire Speed

KRIG 6

1. Range

50.8m

Boasting the longest range for an AR (the same as LMGs), I’d say that for all of KRIG 6’s shortcomings, this is a neat feature.

2. DAMAGE

Base = 35 ~ 28

Headshots = 49 ~ 39

3. BTK & TTK

Headshots BTK TTK
0 5 ~ 6 368ms
1 4 ~ 5 276ms
2 4 ~ 5 276ms
3 4 ~ 5 276ms

This gun has the slowest TTK among the fully automatic weapons, and its headshot efficiency is also really bad.

It’s pretty common to find Youtubers using this gun (among others with lower ttk) for clickbait to say stuff like, “SHREDS” and “MELTS ENEMIES”. Some of the information I’m going to share below might make that seem possible, especially with the low recoil and stuff. However, without headshots, the TTK on this gun is even slower than 1911 and DIAMATTI’s…

Fully automatic rifle getting out performed by pistols? Ouch.

Headshot efficiency is actually good, though. With one headshot its TTK can get faster than any other AR, to a point. Once you start getting more than 3 headshots, other ARs start to pass it. However those first couple of headshots let Krig 6 compete with even some SMGs, let alone other ARs.

Overall this makes the gun pretty worthless if you can’t get headshots, but a fair choice if you’re able to nail them consistently.

4. Recoil

Vertical recoil is the best among all of the ARs, and Horizontal is second best (only behind XM4 and still pretty close to that). From far away the pattern appears to go up and to the right, but if you get close you can see that some of the bullets go just a little bit to the left.

5. Pros and cons

Pros

Long range.

Fast velocity.

Low recoil.

Cons

Long TTK.

Low headshot efficiency.

Which is to say that the TTK is already freakin’ long and getting headshots doesn’t really help much.

6. Breakdown

As I’ve mentioned, KRIG 6 has VERY slow TTK. Of course the range is good, but LMGs have the same range and kill much faster. Other ARs might have shorter range but are more mobile, versatile, and take enemies out more quickly.

For Krig 6 to be viable, it needs at least one headshot. It’s not that hard to get, but it’s not something that you can just consistently do natrually.

So what’s the best way to run this gun?

It might seem like I’m totally against using this gun, but actually I’m not.

Rather than everybody just going around and playing with MP5 and AUG, I think that we, as a community, should take more difficult guns like this one and try to figure them out. To make them viable. So with KRIG 6, you need to keep the distance long. Camping is a great way to do this, but LMGs do it better.

So what I recommend doing is what I call semi-camping. Find cover, and using that cover to check your surroundings. Be aware of the map and the current situation. Try to figure out a place that is tactically important- Somewhere an enemy can flank your allies, or maybe a place they have to pass to capture a point. Move from cover to cover like that. Taking the time to assess the situation and keeping those important locations in mind as you do so, kill one or two enemies, move to the next cover.

This is where KRIG’s low recoil feature really shines. If enemies hide in cover to just peak, you have a better chance of winning. If they know you are hiding, so they pre-aim, dropshot, jump shot, your low recoil will let you trace their movements fluidly. And changing your cover every couple of kills makes you less predictable, so they’ll pre-aim the wrong cover.

7. Recommended Build

An optic of your choice / Field agent grip / Airborn elastic wrap / SAS Combat stock

Vertical recoil control + 6%

Horizontal recoil control + 20%

ADS + 30%

Flinch resistence + 80%

Aim walking movement speed + 40%

Shooting move speed – 31%

Hipfire accuracy – 15%

Sprint out – 15%

I highly recommend running an optic. I feel like the visual recoil is really bad in Cold War compared to other COD games, and the iron sights aren’t really that good. They just don’t feel that accurate to me. Both as a gamer and as a veteran who’s used a real AR. Some of the scopes and other sights are good in this game, but the default iron sights are super trash.

In close combat it can’t compete with SMGs or other ARs. So, again, you’ve really got to keep a good amount of distance between your enemy during combat. That’s why I sacrifice stats that are needed for run and gun playstyles (hipfire, shooting movespeed, sprint out), in favor of things more useful for the semi-camping style I mentioned, like recoil control, flinch resistance, aim-walking movespeed.

The gun can have 5 attachments, but I have only listed 4. The reason is because the last part is a good one to just switch around depending on your personal preferences, or the map you get put on.

If you wanna be stealthy, a suppressor is a good option. For maps that make it difficult to see your opponents, you can use Tiger Team Spotlight. Of course an extended magazine is always a solid choice.

8. Attachements to avoid

Agency Suppressor

Muzzle concealment + 100%

Vertical recoil control + 7%

Effective damage range – 30%

Bullet velocity – 30%

This attachment sacrifices one of the only strengths of KRIG while enhancing things that don’t need it.

15″ CMV Mil-Spec barrel

Damge + 6% (35 ~ 28 -> 37.1 ~ 29.68)

Strafe speed + 8%

Max starting ammo – 33%

Effective damage range – 40%

I’ve thought about running this attachment. If TTK is the problem, increasing damage with this should be good right? But unfortunately, it’s not.

Even with the additional damage, BTK and TTK don’t even change. It’s not enough to make a difference, and by lowering the range you’re getting rid of the long range advantage KRIG has in the first place.

We’ll be posting more gun guides for Black Ops Cold War and other games so stay tuned!

The Division 2 Season 4 Global Event, Next-Gen Improvements & Codename Nightmare Update Revealed

It’s a rather busy week for The Division 2 fans in this week’s State of the Game! Ubisoft Masssive talked about The Division 2 Season 4 global event, next-gen improvements, an update on Codename Nightmare and more!

The Division 2 Global Event: Golden Bullet

  • This will be the first Global Event of the Season

Mechanics

  • One member of a hostile fireteam will get (approx. every 10s) an Icon over its head that is charging up.
  • Once it is fully charged that NPC has the so-called “golden bullet” that will deal a ton of damage.
  • So once that NPC has that golden bullet it should not hit you, because it will be brutal.
  • If you can kill the NPC with the golden bullet (loading or fully charged), that buff is transferred to you and you get the golden bullet buff for 3-5 Seconds.
    • Instant reload
    • Damage buff
    • Rate of fire increase
    • When you kill an NPC during that time, the buff is refreshed.

Update on Codename: Nightmare (TU12.1)

At the end of the trailer during the Ubisoft Forward September virtual conference, they mentioned a limited special event titled “Codename: Nightmare,” a unique gameplay experience that would take place at a repurposed Kenly College.

Due to unforeseen circumstances in what has been a challenging year, they have since changed the event to focus on apparel only, allowing you to collect the most exciting outfits yet, trophies and skins via a unique apparel event.

This event – which will be unlike any other apparel event they’ve had – will come in the second half of Season 4.

To clarify Codename: Nightmare originally had a new and special gameplay experience with a repurposed Kenly College – but the new gameplay experience will not be happening. It will just be a special Apparel Event with more rewards.

TU12.1 will be released on February 2nd.

Next Gen Consoles improvement

In addition, coming with TU12.1, they are happy to confirm that next-gen consoles (Series S, Series X & PS5) will experience improved frame rates (4k 60FPS) for The Division 2.

This is not an optimization pass, it just allows the next-gen consoles to run the game on 4k 60FPS.

Don’t forget, we’ll be getting Title Update 12 next week, which will feature former agent Faye Lau as the prime target! Read up on TU12 and what’s in store, right here.

PGA Tour 2K21 Update 1.07 December 4 Hits the Green

While HB Studios has released a rather hefty update to PGA Tour 2K21 yesterday, the studio has today released the PGA Tour 2K21 update 1.07 December 4 patch and it’s live now (at least on PS4). Given the patch yesterday, don’t expect anything big in this title update.

PGA Tour 2K21 Update 1.07 December 4 Patch Notes:

According to the PS4 update history, this patch was released just for “bug fixes.” The devs have not mentioned anything about it either. From the community, one thing that this patch brought is a change in the sky’s color.  Reddit user RandomTowTruck commented, “The only thing I’ve noticed so far is that it messed up the sky. Now instead of the whole sky being light blue w/clouds, it has this weird purplish/blue matrixing that happens as the ball is in flight.”

Aside from that, we’re in the dark when it comes to this update. If you spot any gameplay-related changes not mentioned here, let us know down in the comments what you notice that got changed.

If you haven’t picked it up yet, go check out our review where we state, “This game is made for fans of golf and fans of sports simulations. If you find yourself in either of those groups I recommend this without hesitation. If you are any other kind of gamer that admires well done sports games and quieter, thoughtful experiences. I would recommend this one heartily with only a couple of words of caution.”
