ARC Raiders Server Slam Playtest Launch Times, Rewards, Download Links and Expected Content

If you liked what you played of ARC Raiders before, or haven’t tried it at all, now’s your chance to do so before it launches later this month. Embark, the studio that created The Finals, is ready to take the extraction world by storm when ARC Raiders later this month, but gamers can give it a go now.

The ARC Raiders server slam playtest is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, starting today, October 17!

The Map: Dam Battlegrounds

The Dam Battlegrounds stretch across a broken landscape of flooded lowlands and forgotten structures. You’ll cross through dark forests and overgrown research centers, through swamps thick with mist and echoes of a civilization long gone.

You can run solo, or head there with a squad. Your choice.

This is the first map Raiders will explore in the full launch version of ARC Raiders. It’s the perfect fighting ground to get your bearings, test your instincts, and learn the rhythm of the Rust Belt.

Keep your eyes open for some special conditions like Electromagnetic Storms and Night Raids, and perhaps even a visit from the Queen…

Trading and Quests

In Speranza, survival means connection. The Traders of Speranza keep the wheels turning, even if each one has their own agenda and their own way of seeing the world. They’ll send you on quests that tell the story of the Rust Belt and reward you for your help. You’ll trade with them, sell what you don’t need, and earn their trust one job at a time.

During the Server Slam, Traders will offer a selection of early quests. The more advanced work will have to wait until launch.

Server Slam content

Weapons and Gear: Early and mid-tier equipment will be available for you to experiment with, but some things will be locked until launch.
Blueprints: Blueprints expand your Raider’s ability to make and modify weapons and gear. All blueprints can be found, but those of the highest-tier will not be craftable during the Server Slam.
Raider Deck: You’ll be able to test out the Raider Deck functionality with one page of items to unlock.
Workshop: Basic crafting stations (Weapon, Equipment, and Medical) are available, but upgrades aren’t possible for this limited test.

Some systems will be visible in the world, but not yet active:

Projects (Expeditions): Long-term missions where a Raider leaves the Rust Belt permanently. Some progress resets, but key rewards and benefits carry over. For more information you can read this blogpost from Design Director Virgil Watkins.
Trials: A proving ground for seasoned Raiders. Complete the challenge, return safely to Speranza, and vie for a place on the leaderboard. You’ll have to wait for launch to climb ranks and earn seasonal rewards.
Codex: A growing archive of your Raider’s accumulated knowledge. Here you will collect stories, people, and places as you progress deeper into the world.

Feats, Cred, and Raider Decks

Topside, Raiders can complete small, moment-to-moment challenges called Feats. You’ll receive a list of rotating daily tasks, asking you to destroy ARC, extract with rare loot, or other requirements. Completing these Feats will earn you Cred, a currency used to unlock rewards through the Raider Decks.

Raider Decks are made up of multiple pages of rewards that open as you progress. Some decks are free, others are premium, and while most stay in circulation, a few are time-limited. Be aware that you won’t be able to purchase any in-game benefits.

The ARC machines

The Rust Belt is crawling with machines that don’t care who you are or how many fights you’ve survived. Each one hunts differently. They are known as ARC.

Here are a few you’ll face:

Wasps: swarming fliers, firing with accuracy
Ticks: small scuttlers in the dark, waiting for you to come close
Bastions: slow-moving tanks that annihilate anything in their sight
Leapers: agile jumpers that will close the gap before you can react

Rewards

Play during the Server Slam and confirm your Embark ID to earn an exclusive backpack: The Server Slammer! This prize will be yours to claim when you launch the full game for the first time after the launch on October 30th!

NBA 2K26 Update 1.008 Dribbles Out for Patch 2.1 Before Season 2 Starts

While Visual Concepts released the Season 2 data for NBA 2K26 earlier this week, it seems there were a few bugs that needed to be squashed, as the studio has released NBA 2K26 update 1.008 for the basketball sim’s version 2.1 patch.

Today’s patch resolves issues with the shot meter, ball collision issues.

The patch download is out now on consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S), and will be released on PC later today and will include the fixes from patch 2.0 and 2.1 rolled into one.

NBA 2K26’s October 17 Update Resolves Issues Ahead of Season 2 via Patch 1.008

Here are the list of confirmed fixes included in today’s patch (via the NBA 2K Discord);

Returned ball collision sensitivity on escape dribble moves to pre-Patch 2.0 levels based on community feedback. The improved responsiveness for well-timed, intentional steal attempts remains.
Updated the shot meter to properly reflect the green window bonuses of the Poster Machine Takeover Ability.
Resolved a reported hang that could occur when attempting to load a MyCAREER save.
Fixed a hang following a press conference in the Out of Bounds story.

Ghost of Yotei New Update 1.010 Rides Out

Sucker Punch Productions has released Ghost of Yotei update 1.010 (complete version 1.010.000) on PS5, and this is another unannounced patch for the open-world action game.

While last week’s patch tackled a lot of issues, especially the missing coins and how Atsu’s horse would leave her after being summoned, there are still issues plaguing the game.

Don’t expect any new features from the patch, such as New Game+, as you can be sure Sucker Punch would announce that before rolling it out.

Ghost of Yotei Receives Update 1.010 to Resolve More Issues

Update: True to form, Sucker Punch has released the patch notes hours after the update went out.

Performance and Stability

Fixed a rare crash that could happen when ray tracing is enabled.
Fixed a rare crash that could occur during “Poison and Lies” if the player backtracked to the fire in the building then walked towards Oyuki with the Nine Tails NPC following Atsu.

Gameplay

Fixed a bug that prevented the Black Ghost mask from being granted to players who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of Ghost of Yotei once they completed “To Catch a Spider”.
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “Fighting Fire with Fire” due to the player not being guaranteed to have flash bombs during the flash bomb trainer.
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “The Way of the Kusarigama” if the player warped into the mission during a specific point.
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “The Tale of the Oni” if the player managed to avoid seeing the “armor upgrade” scene and then left the area.
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “A Brokered Trust” if the player managed to complete part of the branching objectives and then goes and completes a different mission allowing the second branch to become available.
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “Higashi Lumberyard” if the player saved and exited the game after interrogating the enemy but before defeating Saito’s soldiers
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “Broken Horn Garrison” if the player died after killing all enemies and rescuing the prisoner but before the final conversation plays.
Fixed a permanent mission blocking bug that could happen in “The Kusarigama’s Shame” if the player created a campsite in mission critical stealth grass.
Fixed a permanent game blocking bug that could happen if the player climbed a tower in the Frontier, talked to an NPC, but then restarted from their last checkpoint.
Fixed a bug that could happen in “Encounters of the Wild” that would cause the fox to appear stuck if the player had reloaded their game after seeing the bear above the cave near the sanctuary.
Fixed a bug that would allow the player to change their loadout during the spar with Kiku in “A Wolf’s Pack”.
Fixed a bug where the player could become stuck in a permanent respawn loop if they jumped into a pit and died soon after completing an objective or mission.

Environment

Replaced a placeholder asset that had been along a major path in “The Kitsune’s Fate”.

Unfortunately, Sucker Punch has yet to provide any official patch notes for now, and judging from past update releases, don’t expect anything until almost a day after.

Some of the known issues the game is still facing even after the 1.009 patch has been released include:

Wolf Blade doesn’t change guard on different sword kits
When Atsu dies and wakes up from camp, you travel right back to the Red Crane Inn (not sure how prevalent this is)
Crashing issues still persist
Endless loop after death of respawning inside a hole with spikes after falling in it with your horse (this is literally game-breaking and has no known fix for now)
When you enter water, the oxygen meter would show up and deplete as if Atsu was submerged
Dens are locked at 50 Coins
“Kusarigama’s Regret” mission is causing the controller to stop working properly
Moving through Yotei Grassland is causing controller issues
“The Last Brother” bounty bug wherein the player cannot speak to the wounded guy at the bottom of the hill, nor can you spawn any bounty hunters to slay, which is the objective. This means the graves cannot be interacted upon and leaves the player stuck.

Bug as one reader pointed out to us, “after I killed the oni I skipped the cutscene half way through and then I got the armor upgraded screen and stuff and I would spawn at the forge in ishikari and then get locked with my screen being in the black borders, I can’t move or reload any old save, none of buttons worked my controller was charged and plugged the only thing I could do was fast travel cause it would give my the option to do another quest, anytime I fast traveled back to this forge my screen would get locked and the onyro armour upgrade screen would come up, I close the game and the same screen happens, Atsu says her fathers wolves are together and then I can’t move or pause my game.”

Hopefully, some, if not all, the issues listed above are resolved. The biggest one there is the respawn issue since that actually prevents you from playing the game, since you can’t even pause it. The only fix currently known? You have to restart the entire friggin’ game!

Marvelous Inc. has begun rolling out Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion update 1.001.001 (version 1.1.1 in-game) across all platforms. This is a major update, as it brings not only bug fixes and improvements, but also new bosses and some free outfits.

Here’s what’s new per Marvelous Inc.

New Bosses

Lapis Lacrima RT: Ω and Cybele RT: Ω have been added as new boss enemies.

“Battle Lapis Lacrima RT: Ω” and “Battle Cybele RT: Ω” will be added to the Rematch Simulator at the base.

Along with bug fixes and adjustments, the Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion 1.1.1 update includes the release of two new bosses: Lapis Lacrima RT: Ω and Cybele RT: Ω, as well as the free “Formal Suit Outfit” and “Axiom Researcher Outfit” cosmetic DLC. The limited event boss Zeruchroar will also now be available permanently in-game. You can check out the full details of what’s included below.

Additions and Adjustments

Added a function in EDIT APPEARANCE to turn off visible mutations upon unlocking Fusion.
Added an event to the Rematch Simulator that allows event boss Zeruchroar to be fought at any time.
Added a Stray equipped with Revenger after completing the mission “Subject: Codename: Shadow Taker.”
Added an Immortal with development data for Strider X after completing the mission “Subject: My buddy Strider’s in trouble! ;_;” and completing the game.
Fixed mission requests from Angel to be playable after completing the game.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where the mission “Subject: Investigate Zeruchroar” is shown as withdrawn without an emergency mission being issued.
Fixed an issue where Zeruchroar sometimes appears to be in standby and does not move.
Fixed an issue where an Arsenal’s particle effects stay displayed.
Fixed an issue where weapons multiply upon obtaining a Gun Vambrace.
Fixed an issue where Dreadnoughts sometimes yield no loot.
Fixed an issue where some dropped items display no name.
Fixed an issue where Foolish Wrath sometimes fails to fly towards a locked enemy.
Fixed an issue where a processing lag sometimes occurs during battles with Cybele.
Fixed an issue where there are sometimes two instances of Iris in the base.
Fixed other minor bugs.

Demon’s Souls Update 1.007 Released for New Feature, Though Not What You Were Expecting

Bluepoint Games has released Demon’s Souls update 1.007 (complete version 1.007.000), on the PS5, and it adds a new feature, but not the one gamers were expecting.

Four weeks ago, Sony released a new PS5 firmware update that introduced the power save feature, which is a feature people can turn on in games that support it.

Starting today, Demon’s Souls supports that feature.

While there’s no official changelog available from Sony, the confirmation of the Power Save feature was made last month, and here’s how to turn it on:

Go to the PS5 home screen.
Navigate to Settings (the gear icon).
Select System.
Choose Power Saving.
Select Power Saver for Games.
Turn on Use Power Saver and select Demon’s Souls

Aside from Demon’s Souls, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Ghost of Yotei are also confirmed to be getting this feature.

Unfortunately, the much-requested feature of being able to delete characters is still not available, and I honestly doubt it will ever be part of the rollout. If we spot any other gameplay-related change, we’ll update the article to reflect it, though we’re not counting on anything of the sort.

Twelve months ago, Bluepoint also released an update for the RPG to provide the game with PS5 Pro enhancements in time for the console’s release.

Two Point Museum Update 6.000 Gets Vampire Survivors Crossover

Two Point Studios has released update 6.000 for consoles (known as 6.0 on PC) for Two Point Museum, introducing a free crossover with Vampire Survivors that adds a new Digiverse rift, over 10 new exhibits, mythical gear for your museum and staff, new decor, and a new VIP.

As usual, this update also comes with a load of bug fixes, improvements and optimization changes.

- Equip staff with Vampire Survivors Mythical Gear exhibits, including Spinach and Santa Water
- Poe Ratcho becomes a visitable VIP if Vampire Survivors relics are present
- New decorative items, wallpapers and floor tiles
The Digiverse map will grow over time as new games are discovered, providing new exhibits, decorations and gameplay

Improvements & Fixes

QoL Improvements

Fantasy experts can now also increase their Fantasy Stats by training in four of the existing, traditional qualifications:
- Aerodynamics: +3 Dexterity per level
- Analysis: +3 Intelligence per level
- Happy Thoughts: +3 Luck per level
- Survival Skills: +3 Strength per level
Fantasy Potions that only provide Fantasy stats (e.g Strength) now only appear in the Cargo Items list if the POI has Fantasy stats as event counters
Growth Potion now provides +125% expedition XP instead of +50%
XP-Dition Journal now provides +25% expedition XP instead of +15%
When going on a break, staff can now occasionally prioritise items in the staff room based on their traits:
- Bean-Brained: prioritises using the Coffee Machine
- Lard Lad/Lass: prioritises using the Snack Table
- Slacker: prioritises using the Button Master
- Junk Foodie: prioritises vending machines
- Workhorse: prioritises using the Staff Desk
When using the Snack Table, staff with the Lard Lad/Lass trait will exclusively choose to eat doughnuts
Added new traits to some of our Fantasy Finds exhibits:
- Devilish Door – Added Intriguing trait
- Ironic Throne – Added Intimidating trait
- Dungeon Manual – Added Amusing trait
- Zapper – Added a new Fish Fry trait, which explains that they’ll kill all non-zapper fish in the aquarium
Updated numerous trait icons to better reflect their impacts
Improved the number of subcategories tourists, goths, professors and children can pick as their favourite subcategory
Added a POI Hint and tryptic to Gale Cliffs that helps explain the Fathomless Winch and staff panic

Fixes

Fixed an issue where security guards were not correctly retrieving the full amount of money available from donation stands if those donation stands had previously been vandalised
Fixed an issue where exhibits with the “Dry Climate” weren’t being negatively affected by humidity
Fixed Job Applicant list showing “0” days until next applicant appears
Fixed an issue that allowed sponsorship items to be duplicated by placing them in the inventory
Fixed an issue in the Explorer Edition pop-up museum that was incorrectly counting available staff when trying to set up expeditions
Fixed Botany enthusiasts not leaving after witnessing a dead Botany exhibit
Slightly Reduced Extra Life event to give +75% bonus XP instead of +150%
Fixed an issue where the “Cause of Death” for fish would say nothing
Fixed the Camera Room showing a “Room Full” icon when a new security guard relieves the current guard in the room
Updated bounds of ticket booth so that they correctly disable interaction points of nearby items
Added missing solo animations for the Kings of the Ring interactive display
Fixed Treacle Ponds never triggering the Camping Spot event, even if it had been unlocked in expedition setup
Fixed an issue where multiple robots couldn’t charge at the Robo Charge Master at the same time
Extra Expertise perk now gives XP for all restoration types, not just grubbiness
Status effects related to Bean-Brained, Lard Lad/Lass and Junk Foodie now correctly show their impacts
Fixed interaction points on the DNA Designer and Panoptic Pillar that weren’t allowing the item to be placed against a wall at certain angles
Fixed bankruptcy repo staff not using diving suits when repossessing fish in the aquarium
Fixed Fantasy-related status effects having incorrect ailment icons
Fixed Self Cleaning Water and Focused Fish Food aquarium perks not correctly displaying their output in the aquarium inspector
Fixed a placeholder image when setting up expeditions that had a required cargo item
Fixed the Fantasy donation stand so that coins correctly disappear when emptied
Fix for item menus causing the game to hang when lots of mods are in the list
Fixed a typo in objective text 2 (removed the ‘s’ in “Sounds”)
Improved renovation performance by limiting the number of rebuilds and reducing the scope of intermittent rebuilds
Minor text and bug fixes

This is not the first crossover for Two Point Museum. Previous collaborations include Dredge, which added new exhibits and a location based on the horror fishing game.

MP1st’s review of Two Point Museum gave it a score of 9 out of 10, stating, “Two Point Museum is a great game to play if you’re looking for a chill, silly time.

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.088 Addresses Crashes and Multiplayer Stability

Lords of the Fallen update 1.088 has been released as a hotfix addressing various crashes and bugs which sufaccd in the previous second-anniversary update.

The patch addresses issues such as inventory problems, menu navigation errors, password system glitches, and multiplayer functionality.

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.088 Deployed to Fix Post-Anniversary Update Bugs

Here are the complete patch notes:

New Weapon Inventory Fix: Resolved an issue where players with a full inventory did not receive the Moon’s Judgement weapon. This fix also retroactively grants the weapon to affected players from the previous patch.
Right Hand Shields: Fixed an issue where shields could appear in the right-hand weapon slot when using sorting.
Friend Pass Navigation: Fixed an issue preventing Free Friend Pass players from navigating the Multiplayer submenu in the Vestige Menu when using a controller or keyboard.
Password Feature: Fixed issues related to the password system in the Vestige Menu.
Host Menu Lock: Fixed an issue where the Host could become unable to navigate the Vestige Menu if a Client joined while it was open.
Main Menu Selector: Fixed the issue where the Main Menu selector could disappear for Free Friend Pass players.
Parry Tutorial: Fixed an issue where the parry tutorial would repeatedly disappear and reappear during the Otto fight.

The Lords of the Fallen anniversary update released on October 13, introduced a free Moon’s Judgement sword and significantly reworked the magic system. The update also included enhancements to inventory management, added a dedicated pause button, and brought various quality-of-life and co-op fixes based on player feedback.

In other news, speaking to MP1st last month, the developers mentioned that there are no “hard stops” when it comes to updates for the RPG, even though the studio is currently hard at work developing the sequel set for release next year.

Minecraft Update on Oct. 16 Brings Version 1.032 to Consoles

Minecraft’s update released on October 16 applies the Bedrock 1.21.114 fixes to the game, which console gamers will see as update download 1.032 (complete version 1.032.000).

This should be a small download, as it’s purely for fixes. While this patch also doesn’t resolve all issues, the ones included are important ones, especially since it can cause issues running the game.

The fixes released last week were the following:

Fixed a bug where the contents of a Bundle would get deleted if placed in a container above a Hopper with all slots filled (MCPE-226250)
Copper Golem now drops its carried item when player interacts while holding an item in offhand, or when player has armor equipped (MCPE-228459)
Fixed a crash when using %.<number>s specifier with a length longer than the multiplied string
Fixed a potential crash if an Actor query in script was happening during world load
The "all_slots_empty", "any_slot_empty", "has_equipment" filters now support "main_hand" as an equipment location

By my count, today’s update is the fourth patch released after The Copper Age major update was released. Once Mojang releases another one, expect it here on MP1st.

Minecraft New Update 3.22 for Bedrock 1.21.114 Fixes Crashing and Skins Issues

Following last week’s patch that focused on bug fixes for Minecraft, Mojang has released a new update today on all platforms as Bedrock 1.21.114.

Console players will see this as Minecraft update 3.22/1.032 (complete version 01.032.000), and this should be a small download.

This patch also doesn’t house a lot of fixes, but the ones included are important ones especially since it can cause issues running the game.

Dying Light: The Beast Update 1.002.005 Released for A Season to Dismember

Techland has released a new Dying Light: The Beast patch today, October 16, and this starts a new wave of challenges and content for the zombie action game.

Console gamers will see this download appear as Dying Light: The Beast update 1.002.005, which starts the first week of challenges in an 11-week plan outlined today via the game’s new roadmap.

Called “A Season to Dismember,” the community can work together to earn exclusive rewards.

This is the first community challange of Call of the Beast. and here’s what you need to know:

Community Challenge: A Season to Dismember

Call of the Beast Week 1 runs from Thursday, October 16 at 4PM CEST/10 AM ET/1 PM PT until Thursday, October 23 at 4PM CEST/10 PM ET/1 AM PT.

Goal #1: Cut off 30,000,000 limbs
Reward: Lumberjack Car Skin
Goal #2: Cut off 60,000,000 limbs
Reward: Woodchopper Axe

Players can check how close they are to victory and the rewards via the Dying Light Outpost, which tracks progression in real-time (it seems). Once the goal is reached, players will find their prizes waiting for them in the in-game stash –provided you contributed to the progression, of course.

Unfortunately, Techland has not shared if any gameplay fixes or adjustments have been made. While Techland has released a fix-filled patch last week, there are still a handful of bugs present, such as:

Compass issue (reversed)
Softlock glitch
Some stability issues for PS5 that makes the console sound like it’s wheezing from running the game

If Techland releases a proper changelog, we’ll update the article to reflect it. For those that notice bugs that still persists, leave a comment down below.

Dying Light: The Beast Roadmap Reveals New Game Plus, Legend Levels, Nightmare Difficulty Incoming in 11 Weeks

Techland isn’t slowing down after the successful launch of Dying Light: The Beast. The studio has now revealed an ambitious 11-week roadmap that aims to keep the game alive for a long time, including highly requested features, new content, and a global event called “Call of the Beast.”

For players who want more challenges after finishing the main story, the coming weeks will be exciting. Techland promises the start of a new phase of post-release support, focusing on long-term content and stronger community involvement.

Techland Announces Upcoming 11 Week Roadmap for Dying Light: The Beast

The main focus is on updates designed to improve replayability and endgame depth. Along with the long-requested New Game+ mode, Legend Levels and the tough Nightmare Difficulty are being added, features that fans of the first Dying Light will recognize right away.

Techland also plans several technical upgrades: Ray Tracing support on PC, new weapon executions, and even an exciting collaboration with PUBG Mobile. The roadmap extends through January 2026, and according to the studio, there are still “more surprises” to come.

The community event “Call of the Beast” will run alongside this roadmap, encouraging players to “unite and prove their strength together.” Over eleven weeks, players will face weekly challenges to earn exclusive rewards, from weapons and vehicle skins to a secret Legendary Reward. Anyone who completes at least 17 of the 22 goals will receive this special reward. If the community collectively completes 20 goals, all participants who joined at least one challenge will unlock every reward, even those who join later.

The event begins on October 16 and runs until January 7, 2026, with a new goal revealed every Thursday. Progress can be tracked on the official Dying Light Outpost website.

Battlefield 6 Sells Over 7M Units in First 3 Days, Now the Biggest Launch in Franchise History

Given the super warm reception of the Battlefield 6 beta, anything short of a massive launch day success might be seen as a failure by publisher Electronic Arts, and even the community.

Thankfully, that conversation doesn’t need to happen, as EA has announced today that Battlefield 6 is now the biggest launch in franchise history!

As if there was any doubt, given the shooter amassed over 700K concurrent players on Steam alone, but now it’s official.

Battlefield 6 Sells Over 7 Million Units in Its First Three Days

In a press release sent by EA, the publisher calls the game as “one of the biggest gaming and entertainment launches of the year,” as the game now has the biggest opening ever in the Battlefield franchise.

In the first three days since it launched on October 10, Battlefield 6 has managed to sell over seven million copies. This has equated to 172 million matches played online and accumulated over 15 million hours watched on streaming services during the three-day weekend.

Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield, shared, ““First and foremost we want to thank our players. Battlefield 6 was built with our fans. From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta we have been obsessed with player feedback. Together, with our players we’ve had a singular goal: to craft the best Battlefield ever. And this is just the beginning – our first season of new content is just 12 days away.”

Also adding his thoughts is the Executive Vice President and video game maker extraordinaire Vince Zampella who said, “We never take moments like this for granted, so I want to express our sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point. We appreciate you joining us for Battlefield 6’s momentous launch. We have so much more to come in the weeks ahead.”

While that number is quite impressive, the developers are just getting started. We already know that Season 1 will kick off on October 28, bringing new maps, weapons, and more. However, even before that, the developers have been vocal about the changes they have planned for the game, and this includes adjusting bloom, addressing known issues and more.

Today, the studio released a new update for the shooter on all platforms, which primes the game for Season 1. There’s also the Battle Royale component, which is rumored to be released when Season 1 starts.

Phasmophobia Update 1.000.026 Applies Hotfix for Crimson Eye

Last week, Kinetic Games launched the Crimson Eye event in Phasmophobia, which saw the game’s Halloween event introduced. If you noticed a bug or two that came along for the ride, you’re not alone.

Kinectic is aware of this and has pushed out Phasmophobia update 1.000.026 on consoles and PC.

Read on for the short list of changes made today.

Phasmophobia’s Update on Oct. 16 Brings Fixes via Patch 1.000.026

Fixes

Fixed players getting stuck on “Connecting” screen when joining lobbies via friend invite.
Removed a pop-up message when unlocking the Child of the Cult foil badge.
Main menu radio will now play spooky sounds.
Fixed an issue with CCTV which was causing reduced performance until focusing on the CCTV.

If you weren’t able to log in last week, here’s what to expect from the event:

Crimson Eye: Phasmophobia’s Halloween event returns for another round. Throughout this event, players will be able to earn extra rewards and work together to complete challenges. For more details, head to our blogpost.
Moon Altars: A change to these means that they will now appear as ‘Usable’ in game, and once interacted with will disappear. Remember to take a photo before interacting with an Altar, it’ll count as a Unique piece of Media!
While the event Trophy remains the same as the 2024 event’s, it is now upgradeable upon completing Personal Goals. The Crimson Eye trophy can be upgraded up to three times during the event, and progression will carry through to the next Crimson Eye event.
We have added leaderboard support for in-game events to the PS5, PS VR2 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Phasmophobia.

The Finals starts Halloween a bit early this year, as the game brings items for it and more via its 8.5.0 update live now. For those on consoles, this will show up as patch version 1.000.109, and version 1.47 on PS4.

Marvel Rivals Voice Change Feature Added in New Update Version 1.000.049/1.07

Even if we just received the big Season 4.5 update last week for Marvel Rivals, that hasn’t stopped NetEase from releasing a new patch today, and this is to add a new feature in the game.

Console players will see this as Marvel Rivals update 1.000.049, with PS4 players seeing this patch as version 1.07. This update also adds new store items and even hero-related bug fixes.

Battlefield 6 New Update 1.000.003 for Ver. 1.0.1.6 Is a Minor Patch to Help With Season 1

DICE has released a new Battlefield 6 update, which the studio calls version 1.0.1.6. Unfortunately, this isn’t a patch to get excited for, as this is more for the game’s backend than anything else.

Console gamers will see this appear as Battlefield 6 update 1.000.003, and it’s a relatively small download at 665 MB (on PS5), though expect the other files to be updated too.

According to the developers, today’s update is primarily to help aid Season 1, which is dropping on October 28.

Battlefield 6 First Update Download Post-Release Is a Minor Patch for Backend Stability Seen as Version 1.000.003

According to DICE, “This minor Quality of Life update focuses on backend stability to help us prepare ahead of the upcoming Battlefield 6 Season 1 update.”

The lone patch note mentions:

Minor backend updates improving stability ahead of Season 1 update.

While today’s backend update might be underwhelming and not what you were expecting, the studio has released two server-side updates this week. There was one released yesterday that adjusted Conquest tickets on all maps, and another one that nerfed shotguns a bit.

The developers have also confirmed a long list of known issues they are working on, without any balancing changes factored in whatsoever.

Battlefield 6 Known Issues (As of Oct. 16)

PLAYER:

Party System: Accepting a multiplayer invite while in Campaign does not transfer you to the lobby or server.
Soldiers may bounce off vault-height objects if jumping from too far away.
Characters can bounce when landing on certain assets.
Profile: All Weapon Mastery Badges appear greyed out in the loadout screen. You will still be able to progress towards these badges.

GADGETS:

EOD Bot may get stuck if deployed on top of a Supply Crate.
Defibrillators may have inconsistent hit registration after range adjustments.

WEAPONS:

Some weapons are missing the intended camera shake when aiming.
Crosshair does not scale correctly when playing in 4K resolution.
Weapon sway can disconnect after exiting a vehicle.
Some weapons cannot reload if reload input is pressed immediately after firing.
Charm loops are missing on some weapons.
For certain scopes, the lens may visually detach from the scope during ADS reload.

VEHICLES:

R-84V2 and AIM-84 Air-to-Air Missiles have been temporarily disabled due to an issue related to Air-to-Air missiles from jets towards other aircraft. These missiles will be re-enabled in an upcoming update.

MAPS & MODES:

The combat area may sometimes fail to render on the minimap or deploy screen while playing Escalation.
Strikepoint: Halftime screen may show no information.
Empire State (Rush): All sectors may appear active from the start of a match.

UI & HUD:

HUD may not appear in gameplay when using 16:10 aspect ratio with certain resolutions.
The game mode UI at the top of the screen (including team scores) may not update if you join a match mid-round This will remain incorrect for the rest of that round on your client. Rejoining the match resolves the issue.
Command Console cannot currently be accessed.
“Purchase Failed” error message may appear when pressing the CTA button in Inbox, Front-End Bulletin, or Takeover screens.
The “Highly Trained” Dog Tag currently refers to it being an AI Dog Tag, this is due to be renamed to “Bot Dog Tag” and will remain being unable to be equipped.

CHARACTERS

Faction and Class patches may be missing on some skins.
The Sunstroke skin uses the wrong camo pattern.
The Bramble skin has an incorrect texture.
Player choice patches may override Faction and Class patches.
Patches are not correctly applied on Assault ROAR when using the Get Loud Class Assignment.
The Copperpulse skin currently shares the same outfit/pattern as Evergreen.
The System Override cosmetic is currently too saturated and will be reduced in vibrancy in a later update.

SINGLE PLAYER:

Challenges may not unlock if they were failed in a previous mission during the same playthrough. Relaunch the mission from the main menu and complete the challenge again in that mission to unlock it.
Graphical issues may occur if settings are set to Low; Performance Mode will also force settings to Low. Adjust graphics settings to resolve.
Screen tearing may occur; enabling V-Sync can resolve this.
Teammates can sometimes get stuck; restarting the checkpoint or mission resolves the issue.
Characters may become stuck due to collision; restarting the checkpoint or mission resolves this.
Reloading a checkpoint can cause issues; restarting the mission resolves this.
Playing outside intended areas (edges of the map, ignoring objective markers) can cause AI or mission objectives to stop functioning; restart the checkpoint and follow the mission path to resolve.
The game may become unresponsive after being idle for long periods; restart the title to continue playing.
On PC, unintentional interactions with apps outside of the game may occur when in Windowed mode; switch to Fullscreen mode to prevent this.
The Challenge Mode UI may not display correctly after unpausing; restart the checkpoint or mission to resolve.
Controller issues may occur on PC; switch to mouse and keyboard if this happens.
Shader stutter may occur at the beginning of the Prologue and some missions on PC.
Corrupted weapon firing VFX can appear when running at 120Hz.
Mission 07: Nile Guard: Player camera may break and fly through the map after triggering a specific cinematic while in first-person view.
On Xbox and PS5, the game may crash when pressing “Continue” in Campaign if no add-ons are installed.

SETTINGS:

Graphics settings may default to Low when using the Auto Performance preset on some RTX 5080 cards at 4K or 1080p.
Different aspect ratio selections may cause see-through borders or other display issues, depending on resolution.
PC Players: If you played on release day on PC your deadzone values may be defaulted at a too high of a value (22%). This may result in scenarios such as your aim moving when no input is taking place. We recommend you change this to the new default of 8%.
Consoles: Currently DRS (Dynamic Resolution Scaling) is not working as intended in Performance Mode. After joining a Game Session, the Performance Mode option will need to be toggled off and then back on again to receive the full benefit. This process would need to be repeated each time a new Game Session is joined or after having gone to the Main Menu. We are working on a more permanent solution for a future update.

PORTAL:

Unable to host an experience if the server description contains special characters.
On PS5, the title may crash if a party leader starts a Portal server while certain content packs (01 and 04) are disabled.
Portal: Unable to scroll to the bottom row in the “My Experiences” tab.

PROGRESSION:

Player stats may incorrectly count progress from custom Portal game modes.
Challenges: “Resupply teammates with the Supply Pouch” is not tracking progress.
Challenges:The Progress bar for “Repair Vehicles” does not update when repairs are made.
Challenges: “Use Vehicle Supply Crate” does not progress even after completing the action.
Challenges: The Weapon Expert Unit Challenge is not tracking correctly. The description says you must “Get a kill with each type of weapon in a match,” but the actual requirement is to get 15 longshot kills in a single match.
Assignments: Helicopters are incorrectly counted as Ground Vehicles in the “Land Vehicle Expert” assignment.
Assignments: Helicopters are not counted properly in Vehicle Challenge 1.

VFX & VIDEO:

Shader stutter may occur in the intro video on the PC splash screen.
Accessibility: Photosensitivity concerns may occur when rapidly switching from third-person to first-person weapon perspective while in a vehicle.

It seems the first major patch will be released for Season 1, and we’re hoping it includes the promised bloom changes.

When it comes to Season 1, we already know the slate of content dropping on launch day, but there’s no info on what fixes are included with it.

The latest patch for Metroidvania hit Hollow Knight: Silksong is now live on consoles, and this is the same update released the other day on PC.

Hollow Knight: Silksong update 1.000.007/1.07 adds support for DualSense Edge controllers for the PC versions. fixes various controller issues and more.

When it comes to gameplay, it fixes issues with out of bounds, a certain boss fight and more. Read on for the complete patch notes to see what got resolved today.

– Improved support for various controllers on Mac.
– Game now pauses when the controller disconnects.
– Fixed various smaller controller issues (more fixes to come in future).
– Fixed remaining instance of certain players getting stuck cursed while in the late game.

DOOM: The Dark Ages New Update 1.010 Applies Ripatorium Fixes

The latest DOOM: The Dark Ages update version 1.010 (complete version 1.010.000) is now live on consoles and PC, and this is a patch aimed at fixes for bugs that surfaced from the Ripatorium patch released two months ago.

Clocking in at 2-5 GB depending on the platform you’re on, this is more of a hotfix than an actual update.

Read on for the issues that were fixed, and for some of the issues that are still nagging the game.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Update for Oct. 15 Delivers Hotfix via Patch 1.010

Update: After hours since the patch came out, id Software has released the patch notes.

Handheld Setting Autodetection

On first launch using a handheld PC device, the game will autodetect the optimal settings. Players may further customize the settings based on personal preferences
Settings are stored per device, allowing players to customize their experience per individual device

Handheld Performance

Optimized general performance, VFX and SFX for handheld PC devices
Added advanced optimization settings and Benchmark Mode specifically for handheld PC users
Added quality-of-life input improvements when the device is docked, including external controller detection

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Enemy AI:

Resolved a rare crash if the player used the Shield Throw on Plasma Shield Soldiers with the “Power Surge” Shield upgrade

Final Battle:

Visuals for area denial from Prince Ahzrak’s Blood Pillars expiring now render correctly.
Fixed a rare crash when using the BFC during the beginning of each phase of the enhanced Prince Ahzrak boss fight

Gameplay:

Fixed an issue where death and damage stats were not registering properly in cases of multiple damage instances occurring on the same frame as an entity death. (This change also addresses a bug where the Accelerator Mastery Challenge was not incrementing properly)
Cycler Plasma Gun no longer glows white when fired with Berserker Power in Harbor of Souls and Resurrection
Using the Shield now correctly recovers from staggering during a melee strike while attempting to block or parry. This prevents a Shield lockout or cases where the Shield would briefly pop into a blocking state after the input was released

Fixed an issue where reloading checkpoints after the Gold and Sentinel Shrine tutorial could cause objectives to vanish until level restart or transition

Sentinel Barracks

Mancubus no longer respawns during the Vagary Champion boss fight.

Removed Hell Knight and Stalker Imp reinforcements from Mancubus Leader spawn wave in the burning tree fight

Siege – Part 1

Hell Knights, Stalker Imps and Imps no longer respawn during the Vagary fights throughout the battlefield

The wolf statue Ruby no longer gets stuck behind a red energy gate if it is not collected after breaking the wolf statues and reloading the south gore portal checkpoint

Siege – Part 2

Fixed an issue where an errant Serf could appear in the courtyard when reloading the checkpoint

Ancestral Forge

Arachnotron no longer respawns during Agaddon Hunter fight at the end of heart sandbox section

Fixed an issue where the Shield Saw grinding SFX could stop if the player opens the Dossier while the Shield is in a Power Node and then returns to gameplay

UI

Fixed an issue with Codex entries not tracking progress properly after revisiting levels via Mission Select
Resolved an issue with the Ripatorium tutorial pop-up intended for first visit of the game mode occurring on subsequent visits
Fixed bug where opening the Dossier the frame after breaking a metal lock or using a switch could cause the trigger to fail and block progression
Addressed a potential crash when

VFX

Corrected issue where picking up a toy collectible could trigger the Shield or an equipped weapon’s visual effects during the animation
Addressed stray purple lines appearing when overloading a Cacodemon with the Cycler
Addressed bug where first-person gore overlay flickers around screen edge during AI execute actions while resolution scaling is active

New Active Tunables

Reduced damage of certain attacks from the Agaddon Hunter, Cosmic Baron, Hell Knight and Komodo to reduce the number of attacks that break the Shield in one hit on Nightmare Difficulty
Adjusted the Brink of Death system on all difficulties to be more in line with the game at launch. This system protects the player from certain instances of lethal damage, creating the opportunity to fight back from a near-death state

Developer Note: The Dark Ages (and Eternal) was designed from the start to allow players the chance to fight their way back from a near death experience – this system is known as the Brink of Death. When your health is low, by design, you are at your most alert and engaged. We’ve re-tuned this system’s values to settings closer to launch, enhancing this aspect of the combat

Original Story:

While id Software hasn’t said anything about today’s update, the community is here to the rescue! Here are the confirmed things fixed via today’s update:

Optimization 89->85GB (on Console)
Ripatorium Settings in Campaign Fixed! (this Includes Unkillable Leaders and Champions. Settings, challenges and codex should be back! Music Menu is now gone from the base campaign!),
Sound Settings Changed? (Steam DB says Sounds and Music got updated)

Unfortunately, the Melee Expert and Berserker Achievements/Trophies are still bugged, literally more than five months after release. Will it ever get fixed? We sure hope so, but given the developer’s silence surrounding it, that might be a while.

If you haven’t played the game yet, the minor technical issues aren’t enough to detract from the fun factor. Our review states, “DOOM: The Dark Ages should definitely be in contention for game of the year, if not at least best single-player game of the year thus far. It has a meaty, action-packed campaign, replete with secrets and collectibles galore.”

If id Software releases a official changelog, we’ll update the article.

Capcom Didn’t Want the Re-Release of Classic Resident Evil Games, Believing Remakes Were the “Superior Experience”

Started in 1996 by Capcom, the Resident Evil series remains one of the company’s most popular franchises, featuring several sequels and remakes that reimagine the originals with updated graphics and gameplay.

However, when it came to preserving the classic versions, Capcom was initially hesitant, almost preventing their re-release on GOG.

Capcom Initially Refused to Re-Release Classic Resident Evil Games

In an interview with The Game Business, Marcin Paczynski, GOG’s senior business development manager, explained that it was a challenge to re-release the original trilogy.

According to him, the developer believed that no one would want to play the old games, especially when there are “superior” remakes easily available.

“Capcom were like, ‘we have all of those remakes. It’s already the superior experience to those games.’ They didn’t really see the value in bringing back the vanilla versions,” Paczynski said. As a result, GOG had to work hard to convince Capcom to approve the re-release of Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3, allowing both old and new players to access them more easily.

“It took a lot of convincing that there is an audience that has a lot of memories about those games, and would love to experience exactly the same game again,” continued the GOG director. “Thankfully, we were able to convince them.”

All three were released as part of GOG’s Preservation Program, which ensures future compatibility with new hardware and operating systems. The platform also provides bug fixes and support for modern game controllers.

For instance, the GOG version of Resident Evil includes multiple localizations, DirectX improvements, and features like V-Sync, Gamma correction, anti-aliasing, and much more. This preserves the original experience while offering some visual and gameplay improvements.

Ultimately, the overwhelmingly positive reception and strong sales of the Resident Evil originals on GOG proved that the platform’s vision was correct and that there is a clear market for well-preserved, classic versions of iconic games.

In other news, Capcom has confirmed that its upcoming game, Resident Evil Requiem, aims to play with players’ emotions, teasing a new system the devs can’t reveal yet.
