Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade Finally Fixes Door Textures

The biggest question around the PS5 release of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake has finally been answered! If you played Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you may have noticed that doors for whatever reason had little to no textures on them. Well, it seems that the Intergrade release will finally fix that.

Here’s a side by side comparison to refresh those who forgot how the door originally looked on the PS4.

Not the biggest fix in the world, but at least the doors look like actual doors now, right? Speaking of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Square Enix rolled out a patch for the game earlier this week that added cross-gen save transfer! Don’t forget to also check out this unofficial Final Fantasy 7 Remake 60fps patch made by modders.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be out on June 10 exclusively on the PS5.

Thanks, Reddit!

First Battlefield 2021 Gameplay Images Leak

While we’ve already seen leaked screenshots of Battlefield 2021, it seems those were obtained from the internal reveal trailer. Today, the first Battlefield 2021 gameplay images have surfaced, and they confirm a few things as well!

Apparently, the images were obtained from a recent playtest (via Discord) that content creators have taken part in, and the images confirm the game will be set in modern times, as well as feature four-man squads, which shouldn’t be that surprsing since the last few Battlefield games stuck to this squad count as well.

https://imgur.com/a/tsxLqAJ

Now before anyone judges the game’s graphics, please note that these are low-res images, and from what looks like, is from an alpha build.

Same as always, take everything with a grain of salt, OK? That said, I am amped to go to war using these vehicles, and in a modern setting!

Battlefield 2021 will officially be unveiled on June 9.

Back 4 Blood PvP Showcase Added to Summer Game Fest 2021 Schedule

First-person shooter fans who are looking forward to Turtle Rock Studios’ upcoming multiplayer game Back 4 Blood can expect a PVP showcase to happen soon, as that event has been added to the Summer Game Fest 2021 schedule!

Here’s the tweet announcing the digital PvP showcase, which happens this June 13.

https://twitter.com/summergamefest/status/1400649050098225161

As a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead zombie shooter series, here’s the info about Back 4 Blood from the game’s page.

Back 4 Blood is a thrilling cooperative first-person shooter from the creators of the critically acclaimed Left 4 Dead franchise. You are at the center of a war against the Ridden. These once-human hosts of a deadly parasite have turned into terrifying creatures bent on devouring what remains of civilization. With humanity’s extinction on the line, it’s up to you and your friends to take the fight to the enemy, eradicate the Ridden, and reclaim the world.

Cooperative Campaign

Fight your way through a dynamic, perilous world in a 4-player co-op story campaign where you must work together to survive increasingly challenging missions. Play with up to 3 of your friends online or go solo and lead your team in battle.

Choose from 8 customizable Cleaners, one of the immune survivors, and a range of lethal weapons and items. Strategize against an ever-evolving enemy bent on your total destruction.

Competitive Multiplayer

Play with or against friends in PVP. Switch between playing as a Cleaner with special perks and the horrific Ridden. Both sides come with unique weapons, abilities, and specialties.

Extreme Replayability

A new “rogue-lite” Card System creates different experiences each and every time, putting you in control to craft custom decks, roll different builds and undertake more demanding fights.

The Game Director is constantly adjusting to player actions, ensuring exciting fights, extreme gameplay diversity, and tougher legions of Ridden – including mutated boss types up to 20 feet tall.

If you missed the last Back 4 Blood trailer, it introduces the Cleaners and character profiles and you can check it out here.

Back 4 Blood will be out for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on October 8.

EA Begins Battlefield 2021 Marketing Campaign, Cryptic Messages Sent to Content Creators

With Battlefield 2021 set to be revealed this coming June 9, it looks like EA has started the marketing campaign, as cryptic messages are being sent via Twitter DMs (direct messages) to content creators!

Over on Twitter, the official Battlefield Twitter account sent messages to YouTubers JackFrags, PeterSMK2, Lirik and more! Here are the messages that was sent over:

As you can see, the complete message is all garbled, though the direct messages sent all have different parts where the sentences are edited out. Per Reddit user Zerevay, here’s what the entire thing says:

Some of you want to return home that most human of all instincts.

With a heavy heart, I must tell you the truth. War is the only way home.

The question we must ask ourselves now is:

Do we accept our fate? Or do we dare to fight for a better world?

MISSING PART

If you can fire a gun, if you can tend a wound, if you can cr havoc–

MISSING PART We need you.

War is the only way home.

Geeky Pastimes has also posted what seems to be the most complete form of the message so far:

I have no idea what that meas, but all I know is, war is coming and we need guns! Given how far off we are from the reveal, expect more messages and whatnot to surface in the coming days to build up hype.

Knockout City Reaches 5 Million Players, Free Trial Extends

In an amazing feat for a recently released game on May 21, dodgeball brawler Knockout City has reached a whopping five million players. The announcement came from publisher Electronic Arts and developer Velan Studios, as the free trial has now been extended past the Block Party event.

The ten-day Block Party event allowed players to try the game for free and level up until Street Rank 25 before being prompted to purchase the game. There is no indicated date for the end of the trial period.

Just like during Block Party, anyone who downloads the free trial will be able to progress in Street Rank, unlock cosmetics, and complete Daily Contracts, Season Contracts and start progressing toward getting those Career Contracts. All the customizations you unlock, progress you make, and Contracts you complete in the free trial will carry over when you purchase the full game. You will also be able to play League Play once you reach Street Rank 10. If you want to Crew Up with friends, or play Private Matches, the game will gently remind you that those features are available when you purchase the full game.

Knockout City is free for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play subscribers. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also be $1 for the first three months.

Report: CDPR Data Breached Files Make Their Way Online, Includes SDKs for PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch

Four months ago, CD Projekt Red announced that they had been compromised by a cyber attack, leading to some of their data being stolen. Amongst that data were source codes to games like Cyberpunk 2077, the Witcher, and more. While it was originally thought to be a closed case with the ransom demand being pulled and the hackers saying the data wouldn’t be published, it seems that new reports suggests that the data has made it’s way to online torrent sites.

Now obviously we won’t post any links to any of the torrent sites currently hosting the file, and in fact, highly recommend you steer clear of it as there are likely to be a lot of fakes. That, and it being technically illegal to download stolen material like this.

Nonetheless, this is still a rather interesting development and according to the message in the readme file, the torrent contains the source code for The Witcher 3 early E3 build, next-gen version, Thronebreaker game, and even Cyberpunk 2077.

CDPR PS5 SDK

Additionally, the leak also includes SDKs for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and the Xbox Series X. All considering these are meant for developer use only, that is a rather huge leak. It is, however, important to note that the SDK alone shouldn’t lead to these consoles (specifically PS5 and XSX) being exploited. While yes, these SDK would allow the creation of homebrews, there is no way to actually run them, at least until specific consoles are exploitable. Thankfully, next-gen consoles have yet to be publicly exploited.

Now we haven’t seen the files ourselves (nor do we plan on it,) but if this leak is indeed legit, expect to see plenty of videos surfacing showcasing all these early game builds.

Report: “Marvel XCOM” Game, Borderlands Spin-Off & More Unannounced Games From 2K Leaked

While Marvel’s Avengers just got released last year, it seems it’s not only Square Enix who’s publishing games under the Marvel banner, as it seems 2K Games will be announcing a new “Marvel XCOM” game soon, along with a few other titles.

This was posted by redditor swine_flu_greg, which in itself might not be news-worthy, but credible people like Jason Schreier, and even VGC have corroborated the story. The leaker claims that 2K has a few gems up its sleeve, and while we don’t know when these titles will be announced, they are big ones! Aside from the XCOM based on the Marvel property, there’s also a Borderlands spin-off on the way, as well as a new action game codenamed “Volt.”

Info on upcoming games from 2K
by inGamingLeaksAndRumours

Given we’re headed to E3 week, some — or all — of these games could be announced by 2K then. That said, same as with every rumor, treat this one with a grain of salt even if it’s backed up by reliable sources.

Those not familiar with the XCOM franchise, it’s a strategy game first developed by Mythos Games, with Firaxis handling the dev duties since 2008. The latest entry in the franchise is XCOM: Chimera Squad which was released last year on PC.

While there’s no guarantee that all these games will be revealed by 2K, it’s important to note that in the E3 schedule released today, Gearbox (devs behind Borderlands), and 2K’s parent company Take-Two Interactive have presentations planned for the event.

Latest Overwatch Update for June 3 Brings Hero Changes

Blizzard Entertainment has rolled out the latest Overwatch update for today, June 3, and it’s for hero tweaks! Note that this is a server-side patch, and will automatically be applied once you connect to the servers.

Latest Overwatch Update for June 3 Patch Notes:

HERO UPDATES

Baptiste

Exo-Boots

  • Charge time increased from 0.7 to 1 second

Developer Comments: Though it felt better to use, the previous reduction to the Exo Boots charge time resulted in Baptiste becoming much more evasive against some heroes. Since he already has strong defensive ability options in Regenerative Burst and Immortality Field, we’re reverting how quickly he can charge the Exo Boots jump.

Echo

Duplicate

  • Ultimate cost increased by 15%

Developer Comments: The Duplicate ultimate has proven to be more impactful than expected and was coming up quickly due to Echo’s high damage output.

McCree

Peacekeeper

  • Reload time increased from 1.2 to 1.5 seconds

Combat Roll

  • Distance reduced by 20%

Developer Comments: Much of McCree’s recent success can be attributed to his increased maximum health and we think that aspect is working well to help solidify a close-to-mid-range role for him. We’re reverting the Combat Roll distance and Peacekeeper reload times as they lead to longer distance Flashbang initiations and made the burst damage from ‘Fan the Hammer’ less of a costly investment.

Moira

Biotic Grasp

  • Resource regeneration is now three times higher while channeling Coalescence

Coalescence

  • Ultimate cost increased by 17%

Developer Comments: Many channeled ultimate abilities automatically reload the heroes weapon as they’re locked out from reloading for a short time. The new regeneration rate will refill about half of Moira’s Biotic energy resource over the full duration of Coalescence. This doesn’t fully refill Moira’s energy from empty as it would be unfortunate to lose that portion of her gameplay if players were able to fully cycle between ultimates with healing alone.

Reaper

The Reaping

  • Life Steal amount increased from 30% to 35%

Developer Comments: This adjustment brings Reaper’s self-healing with his Hellfire Shotguns back to about where it was before the recent weapon tuning changes.

Zarya

Particle Cannon

  • (Primary Fire) Beam damage now scales from 75-170 damage-per-second, down from 95-170

Developer Comments: Zarya’s base damage wasn’t adjusted after the beam hit detection changes awhile back but she wasn’t seeing much use at the time either. Now that she has a more dominant presence in a variety of team compositions, we’re looking at reducing her beams average damage, though the same maximum damage is still achievable.

For Honor Year 5 Season 2 Mirage Release Date Set for June 10

Weapon fighting fans, the next season of For Honor is almost upon us! Ubisoft has announced that the For Honor Year 5 Season 2 release date is set for June 10!

Called “Mirage,” a new hero will enter the fray, along with a new limited-time event (LTE) called “Visions of Kyoshin” and more! Check out the trailer below.

For Honor Year 5 Season 2 brings an intense drought to Heathmoor after a period of abundance and celebration. Vegetation and water used to keep the legendary Kyoshin Temple in the Myre hidden from all, but now the temple has lost all its protections. While warriors try to survive and find water for their clans, they are seeing mirages and hallucinations due to the heat and lack of water. Some are even clashing with strange Samurai who seem to possess unknown capabilities.

Beginning June 10, a limited-time in-game event, Visions of the Kyoshin, will have players fighting for resources in the Kyoshin Temple with new special variables in the Temple Garden. A free event pass will be available with an ornament, a mood effect, and a battle outfit along with lootable weapons.

For the Year 5 Season 2 update, drought-affected versions of Temple Garden, FOrest, Belvedere, and Highfort maps will be available too! And of course, there’s going to be a new Battle Pass with new content such as a new execution and paired emote will be available once the new season rolls around.

Once the title update is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

While gameplay has already seeped out for Rainbow Six Quarantine (Rainbow Six Parasite), Ubisoft hasn’t officially unveiled any, nor has the publisher even mentioned what the game’s official title will be. That will change as early as next week, as the publisher has confirmed that the official Rainbow Six Quarantine gameplay premiere will happen during the publisher’s digital showcase called, “Ubisoft Forward.”

Set to air on June 12 at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET, here’s what the publisher had to say about the event:

The main show, starting 12 PM PT, will feature the next mainline entry in the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® franchise, formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, with world premiere gameplay and trailers revealing this brand-new co-op title for the first time. The show will also include more details on Far Cry 6 ®, a game set in a nation under the heel of dictator Antón Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito. There will also be news of Riders Republic, the upcoming multiplayer open-world playground taking place the landscapes of North America. There will also be updates from Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla and Rainbow Six Siege on their upcoming content, as  well as the Mythic Quest series on Apple TV+ and upcoming film, Werewolves Within, both from Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’re hoping this co-op game will have the same legs as Rainbow Six Siege, which is still going strong years after it launched.

The Ubisoft Forward event can be viewed on the official Ubisoft YouTube and Twitch channels. You can bet that MP1st will cover everything important in the event, so keep your crosshairs locked here.

What If You Were in Charge Of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo?

In the English language, two words can either influence people to embark on various paths in their lives or drive them completely crazy: what if? Whether it’s cheering on your favorite sports team, deciding on what field of study to pursue in college, or debating if you should ask that special person on a date, people ask themselves “what if” as a way to envision an altered version of their reality. Sometimes, it’s fun to think what life would be like if you won the lottery, for example, but thinking too much about “what ifs” can detach oneself from reality entirely. As with most things in life, balance is key. Finding the right balance in thinking about “what ifs” can actually be beneficial to our society, because it helps develop a blueprint toward building a better future.

Talking about the concepts of “what ifs” can lead down some pretty enlightening, deep conversations, but luckily we’re going to keep things a bit light-hearted. One of the biggest and fastest-growing markets in the world is video games. Since 2013, the trifecta of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch have sold over 200 million consoles combined worldwide. Each day, games become more and more popular, which means the decisions behind their development become more and more of a hot topic. Be it games media outlets or average players, everyone has their two cents on how companies should be conducting business, especially as we enter a new generation of gaming consoles with the PS5 and Xbox Series.

Although the two consoles operate virtually the same, Sony and Microsoft possess slightly different philosophies. Microsoft focuses a lot of time and energy on backward capabilities and the widely popular Game Pass subscription service. Even though gamers are eager to have the latest console, many still want the opportunity to play old games they’ve grown to love. On the other hand, Sony doesn’t care as much about older games working on the PS5, nor does the company have a suitable counterpart of Microsoft’s Game Pass. And then there’s Nintendo. The Switch is one of the greatest inventions in gaming history, and Nintendo is on the verge of announcing a Switch Pro soon. While Sony and Microsoft tend to be a bit closer in comparison, Nintendo is in a category all to itself. Neither Sony nor Microsoft is necessarily wrong in their decision-making, but that won’t stop people from offering their opinions on how they’d run the show. So, here’s our chance to use those two words to envision our altered version of video game reality: What if you were in charge of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo?

Sony

For the past decade, Sony has dominated the games department. From Uncharted to Horizon Zero Dawn to Ratchet & Clank and everything in between, Sony’s exclusive games have exceeded plenty of expectations. Given the choice between quantity or quality, it’s clear that Sony will pour endless resources into developing top-notch experiences. While fans (rightfully) have brought up concerns about Sony’s lack of desire to preserve older games, there isn’t much that Sony has “done wrong” entering the PS5 era. But that also doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement, as MP1st writer Sean Mesler pointed out.

“In all honesty, I would stay the course with one caveat,” explained Mesler. ” They have almost consistently proven they can deliver high-quality games from both their first-party studios and second-party partnerships. Just look at the past 12 months: The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Astro’s Playroom, Sackboy, Demon’s Souls, and now, Returnal with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart coming soon. They can improve on services and such, but what matters most are games. The caveat is that I would ditch last-gen sooner rather than later.”

Mesler brings up an interesting point regarding cross-gen support. With a new console on the market, it’s not uncommon for studios to continue developing games that would work on both current-gen systems and the next-gen systems. In other words, Guerrilla Games is developing Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, for both the PS4 and PS5. Mesler’s desire to cut back on this type of cross-gen support would give developers more creative flexibility by fully embracing the power of next-gen systems, instead of having to fit within the power restrictions of a soon-to-be outdated console. Speaking about “power restrictions”, what if Sony went back to the portable drawing board?

“You know, I would love for Sony to take a crack at the portable side of business again,” senior editor James Lara explained. “Maybe it’s wise to explore a hybrid as Nintendo did with the Switch, but my only issue with that is the cost and the likelihood of it just gimping the main hardware. I would rather just have Sony look into getting as much power out of a new handheld, all while keeping cost down, lower than any of the given consoles on the market. The software has always been the key to consoles, so there would need to be a slate of titles exclusive for it. It would be a perfect opportunity for Sony to restore “dead” classic IPs.

Then again, I have been messing around with remote play on my iPhone a ton recently and as long as my connection is stable, the experience makes up for the lack of portability”

The idea of Sony reviving the PSP or Vita in a modern sense is tantalizing. Based on the massive success of the Switch, there’s clearly a portable market. It might be a pipe dream to wish for Sony to get back into the portable ring, but if done correctly, could open a plethora of opportunities. Even if this modern Vita wasn’t constructed in the same light as the hybrid Switch, being able to play Sony’s extraordinary titles on the go would be a game-changer.

Microsoft

Throughout the Xbox 360 era, Microsoft was in a good place. The tech company managed to break through and “win” the 360-PS3 era but stumbled a bit during the Xbox One era. While Microsoft’s Game Pass service is arguably one of the greatest subscription services ever invented (still don’t understand how Microsoft makes money off of it), the company is lacking in the exclusivity department. Aside from Game Pass, there isn’t a compelling reason to own an Xbox, other than being a die-hard fan. Microsoft needs to give people a reason why buying an Xbox is a good investment, and no, a subscription service (so far) doesn’t cut it. Luckily, Microsoft’s recent splurge of acquiring studios, like Bethesda, will certainly bolster its exclusive lineup in due time. But the lack of games, even if they’re coming in the future, is Mesler’s main issue with Microsoft and the first thing he’d change.

“With Microsoft, I would do the complete inverse of what I’d do with Sony,” Mesler said. ” The fact that Microsoft released a next-gen console without a single new first or second-party triple-A game, and still haven’t released one yet, is unacceptable. Microsoft can buy all of the studios and publishers it wants, but it still needs to deliver on games. So my main focus would be making sure my first-party studio had actual good games and not just titles to fill out the Game Pass library.”

Lara presented a similar course of action and agrees that the lack of games is Microsoft’s biggest area needing improvement.

“I would take the ‘less talk’ and ‘more action’ approach when it comes to upcoming titles,” Lara explained. “Every year it’s the same old talk, ‘we’ve seen what X developers are working on and it’s exciting,’ yet nothing ever comes out of it. I feel like the company has been doing the same thing for the last decade, where it expects people to wait for a gaming event, and then literally nothing happens. I love my Xbox Series X, but I can’t ignore that it has an issue when it comes to new IP releases. However, I will credit Microsoft on the console features, which have been great so far.”

At the end of the day, games are what will move the needle. Not console features or subscription services, but exclusive games. Microsoft didn’t shell out $7.5 billion for Bethesda to see the next Fallout appear on the PS5. Acquiring Bethesda eight months ago opens up many possibilities for exclusive Xbox titles, but patience is running thin. Microsoft has turned into a broken record telling its fans that exclusive games are coming, but when exactly? Halo Infinite was scheduled to release alongside the Xbox Series X last November, which would have been a huge boom to its sales. New exclusive games are important, but also succeeding in delivering the few exclusives it has is equally as important. Delaying Halo Infinite (presumably) a calendar year needs to pay off for Microsoft, otherwise, it might be too deep of a hole to climb out of. E3 2021 should certainly shed some light on that, but the clock is ticking.

Nintendo

Nintendo is essentially the black sheep of the gaming industry but in a good way. The storied video game company doesn’t play by anyone’s rules, except its own. While Sony and Microsoft were exchanging haymakers with their traditional consoles, Nintendo was pushing the boundaries of video game innovation. By creating the Switch, Nintendo successfully fused the concepts of traditional and portable gaming into one remarkable machine. As of January 2021, the Switch has sold over 78 million units, and according to various rumors, Nintendo is on the verge of unveiling an upgraded Switch Pro. So, how exactly can Nintendo improve even more on its current success? Just like Microsoft, Lara thinks it’s all about the games.

“The big thing that bugs me about Nintendo is the lack of updates on its big games,” Lara explained. “It’s kind of like Microsoft to a degree, but you also know that Nintendo will eventually follow through. From a business standpoint, I can see why announcing something so early works, as it draws up hype and sales, but as a fan, it’s frustrating not knowing when the next drop of information about a game is coming. Look at Breath of the Wild 2 for example, haven’t heard anything since Nintendo showed the teaser trailer to prove it existed, and I have my doubts that Pokémon Legends: Arceus will launch next year given the early bits of gameplay we’ve seen. I think, ultimately, Nintendo needs to be more in the spotlight when it comes to talking about games and showcasing them more often.”

As previously mentioned, Nintendo doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo will announce a direct showcase for a random Tuesday to talk about Animal Crossing for 30 minutes. There’s a reason fans joke about Nintendo shadow releasing games because there’s typically not a whole lot of information to go off. It’s not a surprise Lara’s biggest concern with Nintendo is the lack of information, and while it would be greatly appreciated for fans and the media to know more about the inner workings of Nintendo, it’ll be more of a surprise to see the company succumb to those wishes.

Mesler, on the other hand, wants Nintendo to provide a bit more “oomph” in its console.

“For Nintendo, I would do the same thing I’ve been wanting them to do for decades: release a console that is powerful enough to compete with Sony and Microsoft,” Mesler explained. “Having more power wouldn’t diminish its output, and it would greatly serve Nintendo to have the strong, current-gen third-party support. Sure, Switch is selling extremely well, but I truly believe it would sell even better if Nintendo could get the current-gens best third-party games instead of ports of games from ten years ago and severely gimped versions of last-gen games.”

Nintendo has some of the most beloved game franchises in existence with Zelda, Mario, and Metroid to name a few. While those franchises are critically acclaimed in their own rights, imagine how those games would look and feel with the power of the PS5 or Xbox Series X? Or maybe, those games would lose some of their charm if given a boost in power? Regardless, Nintendo isn’t doing itself any favors by limiting its games due to an insufficiently powered console, which makes the Switch Pro so captivating.

What’s Next?

Although some of the suggestions here might seem unattainable and simply wishful thinking, there are a few that are within the realms of possibility. Making its long-awaited return, E3 2021 looks to re-ignite the gaming industry with a slew of highly-anticipated reveals. Fans expect Microsoft to finally unveil many of its upcoming exclusive titles and Nintendo to showcase more gameplay overall (looking at you Breath of the Wild 2). While Sony won’t formally attend E3, it will have its own separate showcase to announce release dates for the latter half of the year. It’s been seven months since the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the honeymoon phase has come to an end. With E3 and Summer Game Fest returning as well, it’s going to be an exciting summer (hopefully) packed with gaming news.

Buckle up.

Neverwinter Introduces the Bard Class in New Module Coming Later This Year

Prepare to play a class that is highly-skilled and adventurous in the Dungeons and Dragons world, as Neverwinter introduces the Bard class in the new module that is coming later this year to the game!

Check out the reveal trailer courtesy of folks at Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studio.

Here are the details on the Bard class and what this seemingly carefree player type can do via press release.

Neverwinter players who choose the Bard class can become daring heroes who possess the ability to weave magic into their swords and use music to inspire allies, manipulate minds and even heal wounds. Bards dress to impress, carry an instrument — like a trusty lute — for performances and never leave the tavern without a rapier or cutlass at their hip.

With the ability to be Songblades and Minstrels (the two Paragon Paths for the class) no two Bards will be exactly alike, as the class will offer one of the largest selection of spells and playstyles Neverwinter has to offer.

  • Songblades: Stylish swashbucklers who are as charming as they are deadly, that can dispatch their foes in style with swordplay, magic and music. This path is for those who want to be damage dealers who are comfortable close and mid range, and who want to make use of dramatic spells and supporting songs to enhance their natural combat ability.

  • Minstrels: Master musicians who prefer to use the power of their instrument to support their allies from afar with songs of bardic inspiration. These healers can also use music to unleash psychic attack spells and illusions.

Regardless of the Paragon Path adventurers choose, every Bard has an arsenal of unique abilities that will make them a versatile and powerful party member.

If you missed the latest Neverwinter Update 9.12 that dropped last week, you can check out the list of fixes it has here.

Neverwinter is free-to-play and is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Mortal Kombat Fans Are Thirsty for a Shaolin Monks Remaster

Looks like Mortal Kombat fans are thirsty for a Shaolin Monks remaster, as legendary Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has put up a poll in his official Twitter page asking kombatants what should be given a much needed HD remaster — and all signs have pointed to the action adventure beat ’em up spin-off!

Here’s Ed Boon’s tweet and poll, and you can see that the results are pretty unanimous.

Even with other contenders such as Mortal Kombat Deception, the ten year old Mortal Kombat 9, and even the classic sequel that is Mortal Kombat 2 — fans have spoken and many are craving for a Shaolin Monks remaster. That spin-off title was originally released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2005, and was a beat ’em up style retelling of the events of MK2 that followed the eponymous shaolin monk warriors Liu Kang and Kung Lao as they protect Earthrealm from the forces of Outworld. Originally developed as a Liu Kang spin-off game, Shaolin Monks instead dove into the beat ’em up format and it became a critical and commercial success. Upon completing the game, players could play as Scorpion and Sub-Zero, but the story would remain unchanged in the main campaign.

Speaking of Mortal Kombat, check out the terms used in the game and other brawler titles in the newly uploaded Fighting Game Glossary here.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Pre-Load Now Available to Download

With a week to go until it releases, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart’s pre-load is now available!

Those looking forward to the game will have to secure some space for this fairly large game, as the download size clocks in at about 33gb.

If you’re wondering what’s in store for the plot of this much anticipated sequel, here’s the overview from PlayStation.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a brand-new full-length adventure. When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated. As they try to reunite, they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locales (but with new dimensional twists!), and wield a whole new arsenal of out of this world weapons.

If you’ve never played a Ratchet & Clank game before, this is an excellent one to start with as the adventure is a stand-alone storyline, but longtime fans of the series will find deeper layers of connection to previous games.

Hyped up for what achievements Insomniac Games has lined up for Rift Apart? Check out the trophies list for the game here.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart will be released exclusively on PS5 on June 11.
