Check out the teaser trailer to The First Soldier here — which is a battle royale game that takes place 30 years before the events of Final Fantasy 7.
And here’s the trailer for Ever Crisis — which is a return to the compilation world of FF7 with a visual twist and on mobile devices.
Here’s the info on both mobile games via press release.
In addition, today SQUARE ENIX announced two exciting new mobile games set in the FINAL FANTASY VII world. FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER is a battle royal action game set in Midgar before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII. As a SOLDIER candidate, the player will make full use of their magic and abilities in a battle for their survival. FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS is a chapter-structured single player experience which will cover the whole of the FFVII timeline, including the events of the original game along with all the FFVII compilation titles, as well as new story elements, penned by FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE story and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, surrounding the origins of SOLDIER. More information on these two mobile games, FINAL FANTASY VII THE FIRST SOLDIER and FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS, will be announced at a later date.

While most assumed that the next Dragon Age game by BioWare, which we’re calling Dragon Age 4 for now, will feature multiplayer based on the game’s most recent release, that plan seems to have been squashed, and Dragon Age 4 will purely be a single-player affair!
This latest bit of news from the game comes from the reliable Jason Schreier of Bloomberg (subscription required), who states that the game was originally planned to not only be a multiplayer game, but also be part of EA’s games-as-a-service (GaaS) roster. The sources who wish to remain anonymous, states that the upcoming Dragon Age game was originally designed to feature a “heavy multiplayer component,” though EA has changed course on this afte a multiplayer “flop.”
Apparently, Respawn Entertainment’s excellent Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order (which was a purely single-player game) was one of the main reasons EA suits changed their minds. It seems Jedi Fallen Order outperformed EA’s sales expectations, and managed to reach more than 10 million players in its first four months! Another thing that helped in EA’s decision was Anthem, the multiplayer game crafted by BioWare that failed to make waves, and was announced yesterday that its planned reboot has since been cancelled. It seems EA execs feel that BioWare, a studio largely known for its single-player RPGs, is better off sticking to its roots! Who’d have thunk, eh?
Note that this is still considered a rumor, as EA nor BioWare has issued anything about this. That said, let’s hope this is true, and that BioWare can develop Dragon Age into a top-tier RPG more than anything else.
Phoenix Labs has deployed the Dauntless update 1.47 Feb. 25 patch, or what the studio calls patch 1.5.4! Players can expect bug fixes, quality of life changes, balance changes and more! Head on below for the full patch notes.

Fixed a bug where the lantern capacitor’s overview menu was displaying Escalations as +50 power and resistance at level 25 but was actually giving +150 power under the hood. Once we get wind of the next title update, we’ll let our readers know.
Here’s a rather super quick turnaround: in Call of Duty Warzone’s latest patch which was released earlier today, Raven Software drastically changed how suppressor from Black Ops Cold War that were usable in Warzone worked. Well, that seems to be changing very soon, as the studio announced the COD Warzone suppressors change today!
Over on Twitter, Raven Software confirmed this by announcing that the Agency/GRU/Wrapped suppressors in COD Warzone are going to rever to their “former glory” in the next hotfix!
🛠️We will be returning the Agency/GRU/Wrapped Suppressors to their former glory in the next hotfix. #Warzone
No timetable was shared regarding this hotfix, nor if it needs to be a client-side patch, or if it’s something the devs can tweak via a playlist update.
Mind, this is a change that a ton of people online have been asking for, as it essentially made the Black Ops Cold War suppressors pretty much worthless. Glad to see that the studio is listening to their player base, and will act on it quckly.
Those looking forward to Destiny 2 crossplay, we’re inching nearer and nearer to that becoming reality, as Bungie has confirmed that it will be rolled out in Season 15 (which is still untitled, of course). There will be internal testing and alpha invites going out during Season 14 as well.
This was disclosed by Bungie in a new post discussing the upcoming expansion, The Witch Queen which is set to go out this 2022.
Before that, here are a few key topics detailed by the studio that they are working on this year:
Crossplay is coming to the masses in Season 15. We’ll be doing some internal rollouts and alpha tests in Season 14 to prepare for a widespread launch this fall. With Crossplay, you’ll be able to play with all your friends no matter what platform you call home. And don’t worry, we won’t be matching console and PC players together in the Crucible unless PC players specifically invite their console friends to play with them in the PC Crucible pools.
Some of you have noticed that Ikora Rey has not been nearly as present recently in Destiny 2. We’ve missed her as well. Not only will you see Ikora again in Season 14, she will be playing a pivotal role in The Witch Queen.
In Beyond Light, we introduced Stasis subclasses. Like Solar, Arc, and Void, Stasis will continue to evolve into a fully supported damage type. In Season 15, we will introduce our first round of Legendary Stasis Energy and Power weapons. There will be a lot more info here as we get closer to the fall.
More recently in Season 13, we rolled out phase one of our new gilded title system, where players can gild our ritual titles like Conqueror, Unbroken, Dredgen, and Flawless each season. In Season 14, phase two of gilding titles will roll out. When players gild a title, it will now also display how many times that title has been gilded in the past.
As for The Witch Queen, here’s the info the studio is comfortable to share regarding the expansion, which is set for release in “early 2022.”
Last summer, we outlined our ambition for the next era in Destiny 2 by announcing the full arc, starting with Beyond Light, followed by the Witch Queen and Lightfall. As we began to scale production on the Witch Queen last year, we made the difficult but important decision to move its release to early 2022; we also realized we needed to add an additional unannounced chapter after Lightfall to fully complete our first saga of Destiny.
We’ve long thought about moving Destiny’s annual release to the early half of the year primarily for the health of the team, but the Witch Queen and not being tied to legacy expectations allowed us to make this choice early for three important reasons:
The Witch Queen represents an important evolution in the ongoing story of Destiny 2. Beyond Light built the foundation and allowed us to weave the world-building of Destiny and Destiny 2 together, but The Witch Queen will light the fire on a strongly interconnected narrative across Lightfall and beyond, unlike anything we’ve ever attempted before, with characters, arcs, heroes and villains that persist over multiple future releases. Even more importantly, the conclusion of these releases will also conclude the “Light and Darkness Saga,” the conflict we first introduced with the launch of Destiny many years ago. As we’ve been developing The Witch Queen, we realized that we needed this release to be the first of many moments crucial to the story of Destiny. With so much leading to and dependent on what happens in The Witch Queen, we wanted to make sure that we gave ourselves enough time to build out this journey in the right way, starting with an exceptional first chapter in The Witch Queen.
With Destiny now committed to being an everlasting evolving world, we want to make sure we are still taking the time to upgrade the systemic foundation of Destiny 2 to support everything we want to do in the future. Our ultimate vision for Destiny 2 still stands – a definitive action-MMO, a unified global community where you can play Destiny anywhere with your friends. For 2021 this means upgrading our approach to keeping Destiny’s weapon and armor game fresh, refining our vision for PVP, implementing transmog, and adding Crossplay. More below.
Finally, and the most important reason, we are proud to be uncompromising when it comes to our commitment to the health of our teams. With COVID-19 keeping us away from the office, and the large amount of work on our plates, we needed to move the date in order to make sure that both this year’s updates and The Witch Queen were both delivered at the quality we strive for, and on a schedule that made sense for everyone involved.
There’s a ton more discussed today. Check it out right here to read up on upcoming PvP changes, Power level tweaks and loads more.
We also got a sneak peek at one of the armor sets coming to The Witch Queen!
It looks like guardians are in safe hands with Bungie so far! Stay tuned for more Destiny 2 news here on MP1st!
As expected given the Dying Light title update that went out yesterday, Techland has announced the details regarding the Dying Light 6th year anniversary! There’s a new event that’s live starting today, a new weapon bundle and more!
Check out the trailer for today’s new Zombie Hunt event, and read on below for the details.
Time flies when you’re having fun, and so the last six years of Dying Light passed by at the double. Thank you for being with us! We’re not slowing down, though, as we plan to deliver even more hours of joy, starting right away. Pop the champagne and celebrate six years of Dying Light with a free weekend on Steam and the Zombie Hunt event!
If you or any of your friends still haven’t tried Dying Light, there couldn’t be a better time to fix that! From February 25, you’ll be able to play Dying Light for free on Steam for the entire weekend. Explore Harran, the post-apocalyptic city taken over by zombies. Master parkour and combat skills, learn crafting and fight the infected, as you unravel the mysteries of a deadly infection. Want to play with friends? Try the co-op mode! Test it out, and if you enjoy the game and choose to continue your adventure, you’ll keep all the progress you’ve made!
Although we’re celebrating, the citizens of Harran are still in grave danger. A while ago, the GRE sent their agents into the field, equipping them with special boost potions—the “GREcipe”. Unfortunately, the mission didn’t go off as planned and the operatives died. Now, they walk around Harran as undead, terrorizing the city and wreaking havoc among survivors. And that’s not all. Since the “GREcipe” caused mutations in their bodies, they are not just some regular undead, but tough and strong freaks of nature. It’s going to take skill and wit to hunt them down, but the bounty is generous.
First, find and pacify Hothead Joe, an undead HTU officer. You’ll recognize him by his size and the HTU helmet. Defeat him, and you’ll be free to loot his “HyperArgument” hammer as well as other higher-level items. Being a special goon, he’ll also grant you a significant XP boost each time you kill him! When on your way, make sure to also help the survivors scattered around Harran. Assist them, and if the community reaches the goal, you’ll be rewarded with a gold weapon! You’ve got one week to deal with Joe and save the survivors, as another freak of nature is already approaching, and he’ll be here soon.
Excavator Mike is another one of the undead GRE agents we’ve managed to pin down. Big and strong, he’s trying to finish what Joe started—destroy both the city and its survivors. He also happens to be carrying a recipe for the GRE potion responsible for his mutations. Luckily for you, you’re very much alive and able to use the “”GREcipe”” to your advantage. Kill him to get a blueprint for the special mixture. For a short time, it will grant you infinite stamina and boost some of your stats. With its help, you’ll hunt the infected down even more efficiently. While looking for Mike, you might spot some of the supply drops the GRE distributed in an effort to mitigate the damage done by the mutants. Help other players retrieve enough of them and get a King Mod as a thank-you!
As for the event, expect it to run for two weeks! Check out the week #1 and week #2 objectives below.
Schedule: Week #1 runs from Feb 25 through Mar 3

Community Goal:
Help save 100,000 survivors from Demolishers

How to find Freaks of Nature enemies:
They will be random around the maps, so hunt them down and take them out!
There’s also a new weapon bundle out now called the Harran Tactical Bundle! This is also available now on all platforms for $2.99!
Join the Harran Tactical Unit with this new bundle and help your team members pacify the zombie situation!
Here, only the best will make it. Become a part of an elite police unit and investigate the dangers lurking in Harran. Form a team with your friends to make sure you’re covered!
The zombies refuse to give up; in fact, their numbers are rising as we speak. With the situation in Harran getting worse by the hour, we’re left with no other choice but to send a Harran Tactical Unit into the city. Become one of these elite officers and give the infected a taste of what happens when professionals enter the scene]. Which you’ll do at roaring speed in your new buggy, the Four-Wheeler. By the time zombies see your lights flashing, it will be too late for them to retreat. Clear your way with a special HTU hammer that’ll send your enemies flying with its permanent hypermode effect. Then, open fire before they rally and pick them off with your new rifle or shotgun. Do whatever’s necessary, but remember: the operation must not fail.
The bundle contains:
Protector – a Harran Tactical Unit armor skin

It appears that the world of Mortal Kombat was once going to expand into kids territory, as details and images from a cancelled Warner Bros. animated series named Mortal Kombat Ultra Girls have leaked online via a Reddit thread that talks about the unaired series in detail.
In a lengthy post by keyconstruction8, the series would have focused on the offspring and next generation of fighters from the MK universe — namely Cassie Cage, Jackie Briggs, and Frost.
A regular episode follows new student Cassie Cage or her friends. They’re assigned to fight or do Shaolin Showdown style challenges with student of the opposite school faction. Winners gamble the Crypt Coins they’ve found. What the coins are for are revealed later.
The episodes slowly get more serialized. First pitched as Mortal Kombat Friendship, MKUG takes place after multiple timeline resets caused by Blaze during Armageddon. In this new timeline the warriors were shown all the previous canons. Many characters want Armageddon to happen again so they can start a new life. Others want to prevent the reset so they can continue the life they have. The 2 split into factions of Reset or Continue.
This time Armageddon is scheduled to happen many years after it once did. The warriors are getting too old to fight. So, Shang Sung forms a high school to train a younger generation. He pits them against each other in Reset or Continue factions. Who’s ever team gets the most Crypt Coins will be the ones to decide their future should they win their final battle against Blaze.
This is not fully a comedy. That took a bit of fighting on the show runner’s part to get this story. No we don’t insult old fans in this show. It’s a girl focused series but we wanted everyone to enjoy it.
Cassie Cage, Jackie Briggs, and Frost are the main 3. They’re the focus but we cram in every character we could. Other students include Mileena, Katana, Jade, Takeda, Sheva, Kidd Thunder, Erron black who’s dating Nitara, Scarlet, Reiko, and Scorpion’s son who’s a zombie in this show. There’s a lot of gallows type humor that pushes PG. We had a lot of freedom on this. But no blood or guns. Cassie basically uses “Green Energy spirit guns” as one of the supervising director puts it. The MK Ultra title pun was intentional with this shows humor. WB loves that humor. Thunder Cat Roar’s theme song is a pre existing song called Drugs, Neko for pete’s sake. Bo Rai Cho is just called Bo here. Meat is a test subject used in their science class. It was hard to get pass with S&P but they allowed it when we pointed out Adventure Time did skinless humans.

Outriders may be geared heavily towards multiplayer co-op, but if you’re someone who prefers playing alone, you’ll be glad to know that it’s entirely possible to solo the whole experience — even the endgame!
In a group interview with the devs that MP1st recently participated in, Lead Game Designer Piotr Nowakowski touched upon on how the team balanced Outriders for both single and multiplayer.
“The experience should be evenly interesting and intensive for someone who plays solo and co-op…. given the balance and each setup will feel comfortable. It’s a little bit different of course, because if you play in a team you may have more tools, the combined power of all the builds tree from different or same characters. So the cooperative mechanics still, most of the mechanics exist also in single because we were not building the game that where one class interacts with a different class and there is a interaction point. It was rather lets have pieces of elements that the system are built and the pieces can be on one class and the second and then the interaction is created.
Still you can have both of the elements on a single class because there are mods for the weapons. So while the class is oriented to one of the direction, the more tools that you have, the different the gameplay can be. I’ll say playing in a single you will experience all the mechanics you will have in multiplayer, but playing it in multi adds a different layer to that.”
So how does this work for the endgame experience? Well, if you are one of the few out there who plans on tackling the game solo, you’ll be happy to learn that endgame content is possible to beat alone — that is, if your up for the difficult task.
“The endgame content is aimed more towards the multiplayer, still you can beat that in single. It will be a little bit more challenging, it will take more time to gather all the things and be more perfect. Still, it will be available in single-player. If you are a single-player oriented player, yeah, you will have a full game with everything available for you.
If you prefer the multiplayer, then it will add additional layers. What’s the most interesting, you can switch between that at any moment. That was super important for us when we were thinking about the game, because that’s the way we like to play. Sometimes you are in the mood, “yeah I’ll just play alone”…but then you play with your friends, you don’t have to switch games, its the same one, you can play with a different approach, different possibility, the difficult adjust. So from that point of view it’s a competent experience and that was one of our goals and I really feel we succeeded, we are super happy about that approach.”
If you are interested in learning more about Outriders endgame content, the previous broadcast stream from yesterday breaks down everything there is about, including how many will be available at release and the difficulty they entail.
We also published a demo FAQ that lists the demo release times, and answers a ton of questions.
