MLB The Show 20 Update 1.13 Introduces New Features and Gameplay Changes

Sony San Diego Studios has released the MLB The Show 20 update 1.13 patch and in introduces new features, gameplay changes and bug fixes. Read on below for the full notes.

MLB The Show 20 update 1.13 patch notes:

Introducing the new Swing Analysis Window

The intention of the Swing Analysis Window, first and foremost, is to help gamers determine where they can improve. Our approach was to recreate the window to conveniently present more essential information to the user all in one place. This led to auditing all the information itself, as well as how the information was arrived at.

The Old

The previous Swing Analysis Window lacked critical information to tell a story about how inputs arrived at the hits players were seeing, with a lot of important information scattered throughout different sections of the user interface and menus. Also, the arrangement of what limited information did pop-up would often result in misinterpretation and confusion.

The New

With the new Swing Analysis Window, we hope to help users understand the context of why [the hit] happened. There are so many inputs to determining any play result, so we focused on covering the most essential information in an intuitive way.

The most essential inputs are on the left and will pop-up on ball-bat contact. This info includes:

  • NEW! The batter’s handedness. The batter’s Contact, Power, and Vision
  • IMPROVED! The user’s swing timing input with a precision scale visualization
  • Pitch Location with Pitch Type and Speed (note that location is by far the most important)
  • User’s plate coverage input
  • NEW! Ballpark and wind occasionally impact the play result

Note: We’ve primarily focused on inputs to bat-ball contact. Some important inputs not shown would include Swing Type (Power, Normal, Contact), Gameplay Settings, and Defensive personnel and positioning.

Some outputs and results info will slide out to the right post-play. This info includes:

  • NEW! Launch angle in degrees
  • Exit Velocity at bat-ball contact
  • Contact Result generalization
  • NEW! Scorebook result

As we said, we also wanted to make sure there wasn’t any misleading feedback, and that led us to making…

Improvements to Contact Result Feedback

We’ve re-engineered the ‘Contact Result’ feedback, now found in the bottom right of the new Swing Analysis Window. The reworked “Contact Result” system rates your hit as a combination of mph and launch angle. Take note of how the combination of the two alter the result. For example, each hit type has different thresholds for Good, Okay, and Weak that reflect their AVG and SLG value in baseball. Line drives have a lower mph threshold to qualify as Good because their launch angle gives them a high potential of being a hit or a double. Whereas high flies have a higher threshold to qualify because they give fielders a lot more time to reach the ball than a line drive or medium flyball. It’s normal for a line drive and high fly to land in the same spot but be rated differently! The new system accounts for these nuances in a more reliable way. Better hitters should now generate more ‘Good’ hits, and ‘Good’ hits are more consistently valuable than they were in the previous system and there is now more separation between the Good, Okay, and Weak categories. Also remember – the Contact Result does not factor in the stadium and wind or fielding/running ability.

Fun Fact: Apart from Good, Okay, and Weak, your hit can also be rated: Bunt, Missed, Corkscrew, Checked, Broken Bat, Foul Tipped, Perfect (3 types), Way Inside, Way Outside, Popped, Chopped, Jammed, Rolled Over, and Out in Front. Many of the descriptions are special sub-sets of Weak. For example, Jammed is an important feedback because it drops your swing power significantly even on perfect PCI placement.

In the pitcher-batter analysis, you can see for yourself how each category performed using the ‘Result’ filter. In testing, we found ‘Contact: Good’ consistently hit around .600 AVG (averaging multiple games), with most hits being extra bases. Whereas ‘Okay’ averaged just over half of that, and few extra bases. Perfect hits generally average .850 (slightly higher or lower based on batter power, due to home runs).

Updates to Battle Royale

Two new updates are now live in Battle Royale.

First, all BR entries are FREE until June 26! Start practicing your draft strategy as we approach the first tournament in MLB The Show 20.

The second update in Battle Royale focuses on the two Diamond player rounds, and this change will be in effect for the Summer Circuit tournament.

  • 99-97 overall players in the first Diamond round*
  • 96-90 overall players in the second Diamond round*

The updated Diamond rounds mean you will see better squads with these higher caliber players, and more importantly, improved balance between users’ drafts.

*Note: In rare cases during the draft, it’s possible to see player draft options that fall outside this range, usually due to position depth.

And Finally, Additional Fixes…

In-game

  • Several fixes made to Outfielders reacting to and catching balls in the outfield and or near the wall.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the player to lose control of the defensive fielder after throwing to a base in a rundown situation.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause runners to appear like their “skating” while running to the base in certain situations.
  • Fixed a bug where the base runner would move up a base when the batter attempts to drag bunt while simultaneously hit by a pitch.
  • Fixed an issue where commentary would not play for Pitcher substitutions.
  • Fixed a bug where the pitching meter line would not turn red on early or late throws.
  • Fixed a few scenarios where the ball would appear to “warp”  into gloves on pick-ups and catches.

Ranked Seasons Pitcher Energy Balance:

  • Removed energy regeneration for starting pitchers that pitched in the current game.
  • Slightly increased energy regeneration for all pitchers that did not pitch in the current game.

Graphics / Performance

  • Fixed an issue causing FPS slow-downs in all stadiums in certain situations.

Now that’s one meaty update! If there are more changes not listed in this MLB The Show 20 update 1.13 patch notes, share ’em below in the comments.

Infinity Ward Posts Tutorial on How to Reduce Modern Warfare File Size on PS4

It’s no secret by now that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one huge game when it comes to taking up space in your platform’s disk drive. While Infinity Ward has acknowledged the Modern Warfare file size, it seems the studio has now taken a more active approach.

Loading the game on the PS4, players will be greeted with instructions by the studio on how to reduce the Modern Warfare file size! Here’s what you’ll see upon booting up the game:

If you see it, you won’t miss it given the big “Reduce File Size” lettering. Here’s a step-by-step guide via Infinity Ward:

  1. From Main Menu, Select “Options”
  2. Select “General” tab
  3. Scroll down, slecet “Game Installs”
  4. Select DLC Packs to uninstall

As far as we’re aware, this is the first PS4 title to offer this kind of feature wherein you can shave off its file size by deleting specific portions of the game. Then again, I doubt there’s any title out on the platform that’s as big as Modern Warfare has been.

How have you dealt with Modern Warfare’s massive file size? Has this been a big enough factor that you considered uninstalling the game completely?

Remnant From the Ashes Update 1.15 June 17 Pushed Out for Consoles

Just a few weeks ago, Gunfire Games released the Swamps of Corsus update that included new content, gameplay changes and more. There’s a new patch out today! Gunfire Games has released the Remnant From the Ashes update 1.15 June 17 patch which it calls “hotfix 236263.”

This update is for consoles only and includes bug fixes, rebalancing changes, and more! It also brings parity to the game on all platforms.

Remnant From the Ashes update 1.15 June 17 patch notes:

[ GENERAL ]

Disappearing Items

Fixed an issue causing disappearing items in MP under certain circumstances

DEVELOPER COMMENT: In the last patch, we prevented this from happening on new characters, however, on current characters that had already triggered this bug, it would still happen. Now, characters that have (or will) skipped tutorial to immediately join a multiplayer game should no longer see this issue again.

[ PLAYER ]

Mod Generation

Fixed a bug that enabled damage boosts to generate huge amounts of Mod Power

DEVELOPER COMMENT: A while ago, we fixed a bug that was causing high level weapons to generate more mod power than low level weapons. However, the bug persisted with damage boosting mods. At the highest levels of gear (and higher levels of Survival), mods were filling almost instantly. We fixed this issue and went through all mods to adjust their buildup values. See “Mods” for more info.

Mod Generation Overlap

Fixed a bug that prevented extra mod power from filling unfilled charges

DEVELOPER COMMENT: For mods with charges, when a player filled a charge, additional mod generation for the next charge was clipped. This means that if you had 25 power remaining to fill a charge, and you generated 100 mod power, you’d only generate 25 to fill that mod and the remaining 75 mod power would disappear. Now, the overlap mod generation will carry into any additional charges that are currently unfilled. This makes mod generation much smoother for mods with charges!

Trait: Spirit

Increased max value from 20% to 25%

DEVELOPER COMMENT: With the change to mod generation, we wanted to boost up the Spirit Trait a small amount to make it even more enticing. We may increase this over time as we monitor buildup!

[ SURVIVAL ]

Enemies

Reduced enemy health gain by 4% per world level increase

Decreased boss health from 150% to 135%

Added small exponential HP scalar per level

DEVELOPER COMMENT: In the last update, we increased the base HP for all enemies by 4% and increased the base HP for all enemies as well. Players were having a harder time at early levels, so instead, we reduced the values and added a small exponential HP scalar per world level up. The scalar is small so that has almost no noticeable effect on enemy HP until about level 10. The values are also much closer to the original DLC release tuning for the first 10 or so levels. As players get into much higher world levels, this change will become more obvious.

Consumables

Fixed Survival Mode Consumables to use proper Survival Mode values

DEVELOPER COMMENT: We noticed that some of the 1-hour consumables in Survival Mode were still using the Campaign Mode values behind the scenes. They’ve all been updated to give the appropriate values listed in their description. This should also make them much more viable in-game.

Matchmaking

Fix for normal gametypes appearing in Survival Matchmaking

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Small bugfix!

[ ITEMS ]

Campaign DLC Trinkets

Enabled Campaign DLC-flagged trinkets so they can be used on pickup

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Certain bugged trinkets that we made visible in the last patch began showing up in Campaign for players with no DLC. This was thinning out their loot pool with items they couldn’t use, so we enabled them for use for all players.

Daredevil Charm

Fixed damage multiplier to prevent it from stacking improperly

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The DDC was stacking damage buffs improperly allowing for an insane damage boost (up to 3x in some cases). We identified the issue and fixed it!

Band of Castor / Band of Pollux Combo

Fixed a bug that prevented clients from receiving the paired bonus

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The paired bonus wasn’t working under certain conditions and we identified why. Players should now be able to utilize the bonus as both host and client.

[ ARMOR ]

Ex-Cultist

Blood Pact Set Bonus: Increased 1-PC from 12.5% to 15%

Blood Pact Set Bonus: Increased 2-PC from 25% to 30%

Blood Pact Set Bonus: Increased 3-PC from 40% to 50%

DEVELOPER COMMENT: With the changes to mod generation, we wanted to ensure that methods for generating mod power were enticing. The Ex-Cultist Armor received a boost to all its tiers which make it an incredibly exciting option, even at the highest levels.

[ WEAPONS ]

Assault Rifle

Increased magazine capacity from 28 to 32

Increased total capacity from 196 to 224

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Based on our own testing and community feedback, we’ve decided to give the Assault Rifle a small boost in its magazine capacity and total capacity.

Chicago Typewriter

Increased base damage from 11 to 12

Reduced reload speed by 6.5%

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The Chicago Typewriter is excellent for spitting out bullets for an extended period but compared to the Beam Rifle (which recently received a capacity boost), it was falling off at higher levels. We increased the damage which has increased both the single-clip DPS and the full capacity DPS by a noticeable amount. This should make it a much more interesting choice.

Ricochet Rifle

Increased first bounce damage from 0.5 to 0.85

Reduced subsequent bounce modifier from 0.85 to 0.75

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The Ricochet Rifle first bounce penalty felt a little too punishing to use in creative ways (like shooting around corners). We increased this considerably and reduced the subsequent bounce value to compensate. Overall, the Ricochet Rifle now does +60 total damage.

Butcher’s Flail

Reduced base damage from 68 to 60

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The Butcher’s Flail and the base Flail had identical base damage which meant the Butcher’s Flail was always superior due to the debuff. We reduced the damage slightly so that it still matches (and eventually exceeds) the base Flail damage output while the debuff is active.

[ ENEMIES ]

Barbed Terror

Reduced base HP by approximately 12%

Fixed an issue causing Barbed Terror to trigger the wrong hit-reaction state

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Barbed Terror has a ton of HP because he stands still, and the entire fight can be done with only weakspot damage. However, after feedback from the community, we decided to reduce his base HP just enough to make a noticeable difference in the length of the fight.

Shade/Shatter

Fixed a few bug causing Lurkers to stop pathing

DEVELOPER COMMENT: In some cases, navigation mesh wasn’t being properly generated and it caused Lurkers to lose their way. In other cases, the pressure value of the Shield would prevent Lurkers from wanting to attack you. We fixed this as well!

Claviger

Fixed bridge not showing up sometimes for clients

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Occasionally, the bridge to the Claviger fight would not appear for clients joining the battle. We identified some issues and took care of them.

[ MODS ]

General

Readjusted the buildup for all mods

DEVELOPER COMMENT: With the overall change to how mod power was built, we went through every mod and adjusted their power requirement. For the most part, mods are placed into one of four categories: Low under (550), Medium (550), High (1100), and Unique (above 1100). The average of 550 requires 10 shots from a Hunting Rifle. High requires 20 shots. There are some outliers, especially boss weapons, which are based on the damage of their weapon’s primary fire.

Explosive Shot

Reduced Friendly Fire scalar from 0.25 to 0.15

DEVELOPER COMMENT: This should reduce the chance you kill yourself or your teammates.

Blink Token

Increased base damage from 140 to 210

Increased Power Requirement from 250 to 275

Reduced Total Charges from 5 to 3

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Blink Token damage was too low for our tastes, so we increased it by about 34% and adjusted the power requirement. Since it builds so quickly, we reduced the total charges to 3 to promote more of a blink, damage, blink, damage type of gameplay instead of using up all 5 at once.

Wildfire Shot

Reduced Power Requirement from 400 to 275

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Since Wildfire Shot adds 3 stacks all at once and then cannot stack any further, we reduced this to “Low” requirement, so you have quicker access to it and more frequent uses.

Seeker Beetle

Reduced Power Requirement from 350 to 275

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Seeker needed a bit of love so we reduced the power requirement.

Seed Caller

Reduced Power Requirement from 400 to 275

DEVELOPER COMMENT:  A general change for both Seed Caller, Beckon, and Iron Sentinel. We moved them into “Low” requirement, so you have access to it more quickly.

Beckon

Reduced Power Requirement from 350 to 275

DEVELOPER COMMENT:  A general change for both Seed Caller, Beckon, and Iron Sentinel. We moved them into “Low” requirement, so you have access to it more quickly.

Unstable Quills

Increased Power Requirement from 350 to 550

DEVELOPER COMMENT: We think the strength of Unstable Quills is in a good spot, but the power requirement was a tad low. We moved it into the “Medium” category.

Iron Sentinel

Reduced Power Requirement from 750 to 550

Fixed a bug that prevented VFX/SFX from playing with Soul Ember equipped

DEVELOPER COMMENT: A general change for both Seed Caller, Beckon, and Iron Sentinel. We also moved Sentinel into “Medium” requirement, so you have access to it more quickly.

Corrosive Aura

Reduced Power Requirement from 650 to 550

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Due to the risk of getting in close, we wanted to make Corrosive Aura available more of the time, so we reduced it to “Medium” level.

Breath of the Dessert

Reduced Power Requirement from 550 to 420

Increased base damage of projectile from 25 to 30

DEVELOPER COMMENT: When mod generation was being affected by damage boosts, Breath of the Desert became easy to spam at higher levels. To balance it in previous versions, we reduced the damage and adjusted mod requirement. Since we’ve adjusted how mod power generates, we reduced the power requirement and increased the base damage.

Hotshot

Increased Power Requirement from 500 to 550

Fixed a bug causing Evocation to increase Damage Buff instead of just Burn Damage

DEVELOPER COMMENT: In the previous patch, Hotshot’s damage buff was being affected by the Evocation Trait. We fixed this issue and increased the buildup slightly to “Medium”.

Hunter’s Mark

Increased Power Requirement from 500 to 550

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The requirement was increased marginally to “Medium”.

Rift Walker

Reduced Cooldown from 20s to 15s

Reduced Power Requirement from 1500 to 1100

DEVELOPER COMMENT: We eased up on the cooldown and the power requirement.

Stormcaller

Reduced Power Requirement from 1250 to 1100

Increased AOE damage from 10 to 15 per tick

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The AOE damage was lacking on Stormcaller so we increased it by 50%. This makes it a bit deadlier when dancing around mobs at close-range.

Howler’s Immunity

Increased Power Requirement from 750 to 1100

DEVELOPERS COMMENT: Howler’s Immunity is extremely good at reducing all incoming damage to you and your team. We moved this into the “High” category, so it requires a bit more buildup.

Swarm

Increased Power Requirement from 750 to 1100

DEVELOPER COMMENT: One of the strongest mods in the game, we didn’t want to reduce any of its functionality so we simply put it into the “high” requirement category.

Song of Swords

Increased Power Requirement from 1000 to 1100

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Moving this into the “High” category by slightly increasing the requirement.

Flicker Cloak

Reduced Cooldown from 15s to 10s

Increased Power Requirement from 1000 to 1100

DEVELOPER COMMENT: With the mod generation fix, we reduced the cooldown on Flicker Cloak and increased the requirement slightly.

Veil of the Black Tear

Increased Min duration from 5s to 10s

Increased Max duration from 10s to 15s

Reduced Power Requirement from 1250 to 1100

DEVELOPER COMMENT: While Veil is incredibly powerful in a couple of fights, we felt that the duration at both low and high levels where a bit too short. We fixed the durations and reduced the power requirement to “High”.

Rattleweed

Increased Power Requirement from 1000 to 1100

Fixed a bug that prevented VFX/SFX from playing with Soul Ember equipped

DEVELOPER COMMENT. A general bug fix along with a slight power requirement increase to put Rattleweed into the “High” requirement.

Mender’s Aura

Reduced Power Requirement from 1500 to 1650

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Mender’s Aura is a staple at many levels of play. We felt that “High” was still a bit too frequent, so we have it a “Unique” power requirement.

Banish (Repulsor)

Increased the duration of the post-banish debuff from 4s to 8s

Reduced Power Requirement from 400 to 200

Reduced Total Charges from 5 to 3

DEVELOPER COMMENT: The duration of the damage debuff of Banish felt too short to properly make use of it so we doubled it. This also applies to bosses, though they cannot be Banished. We also reduced the Power Requirement so that it only takes 2 shots to fill a charge. We also reduced the overall charges to compensate for the quicker buildup.

Spore Shot (Sporebloom)

Increased Power Requirement from 500 to 600

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Slightly increased the power requirement so that Spore Shot builds with 3 shots of Sporebloom.

Radioactive Volley (Defiler)

Increased Power Requirement from 250 to 205

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Reduced the power requirement so that Volley builds in 4 shots of Defiler.

Gravity Core (Particle Accelerator)

Reduced Power Requirement from 1500 to 1400

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Slightly reduced the power requirement so that Gravity Core builds with 4 full magazines of Particle Accelerator.

Undying (Ruin)

Reduced Power Requirement from 3000 to 2825

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Slightly reduced the power requirement so that Undying builds with 5 full magazines of Ruin.

Skewer (Devastator)

Reduced Power Requirement from 1000 to 640

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Reduced the power requirement so that Skewer builds in 4 shots of Devastator.

Hive Shot (Hive Cannon)

Reduced Power Requirement from 500 to 380

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Reduced the power requirement so that Hive Shot now fills with 1 full magazine of Hive Cannon.

Vampiric (Pride of the Iskal)

Reduced Power Requirement from 750 to 590

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Reduced power requirement so that Vampiric now fills with 1 full magazine of Pride of the Iskal.

Tentacle Shot (Curse of the Jungle God)

Increased Power Requirement from 400 to 450

Fixed a bug that prevented VFX/SFX from playing with Soul Ember equipped

DEVELOPER COMMENT: Slightly increased the power requirement so that Tentacle Shot now fills with 1 full magazine of Curse of the Jungle God.

Static Field Shot (Eye of the Storm)

Reduced Power Requirement from 350 to 320

Increased Large Explosion trigger range by 1m

Reduced total charges from 5 to 3

DEVELOPER COMMENT: We wanted to make the alt-fire of Eye of the Storm more useful, so we reduced the requirement and increased the trigger range of the Large Explosion (triggered by 2 Overloaded Enemies near each other) by 1m. Since the Large Explosion is easier to trigger now, we reduced the total charges from 5 to 3.

[ OTHER ]

Art (General)

Fixed a handful of art-related bugs

Hardened Carapace (Crafting Material)

Fixed an issue that prevented players from picking up more than 1 at a time

Yep, this Remnant From the Ashes update 1.15 June 17 patch is one big “hotfix,” but we’re not complaining.

Scared of Giant Spiders? Grounded Arachnophobia Safe Mode Makes Them Almost Non-Existent

Is your fear of spiders preventing you from playing certain video games? Well, fear not! Obsidians’ latest title, Grounded, which features spiders that are larger than the players themselves is offering an option to help do away with that fear via an”Arachnophobia Safe Mode.”Here’s a look at Grounded Arachnophobia Safe Mode with some screenshots!

The Steam demo of Grounded was made available yesterday for everyone to try out, though as a fair warning to those with fear of Spiders the game features lots of them, and they just so happy to come in many shapes and sizes. Luckily, Obsidian has decided to add an accessibility option that can help alleviate this fear as the game warns players before even starting the game.

The warning read as:

This game contains Spiders that are often much larger than the player. If you’re super not okay with that, you can enable Arachnophobia Safe Mode in the Accessibility options.

This is a visual-only setting that does not affect gameplay or difficulty.

A pretty cool option to say the least, and it has many different options for how the Spiders are shown in-game as seen in the screenshots below.

Grounded Arachnophobia Safe Mode Screenshots

About Grounded:

The world is a vast, beautiful and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunk to the size of an ant. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?

Grounded is currently running its closed beta trial with a Steam demo being available to everyone not in it. The title is currently planned to release July 28 on the Xbox One and PC.

Predator Hunting Grounds Update 1.11 June 17 Is for Bug Fixes

While Illfonic released a big Predator Hunting Grounds patch last week that brought in a new max rank, weapons and more, the studio has released the Predator Hunting Grounds update 1.11 June 17 patch today and it’s live now.

Note that while Illfonic calls this a “hotfix,” players will still need to download a patch.

Predator Hunting Grounds update 1.11 June 17 patch notes:

  • Fixed a bug where certain weapon skins would cause the equipped loadout to reset to default
  • Fixed an issue where the characters in the main menu cinematic would sometimes not appear
  • Fixed a crash that could occur while in the customization menu

And that’s basically it, which should be expected given we just got a big patch last week. If you haven’t picked up the game yet, it’s gotten some much-needed improvements, which makes playing it more pleasant than at launch. Here’s our review of the title where we had the following to say:

I can see Predator Hunting Grounds being a better game in a year’s time, but as of right now, there are far too many issues that hinder it. While it supplies excellent Predator gameplay, it falls short of everything else, including capturing the original feeling of the films. It may have all the right nostalgic ingredients to be a perfect Predator game, but sadly, it wasn’t ready to come out of the oven. I can only recommend this title to the hardcore Predator fans; otherwise, I suggest you wait until more content is added and general performance is improved. It is disappointing, to say the least.

Again, the game has gotten better since.

Elite Dangerous Update 1.44 June 17 Brings Fixes and Changes

While we just got a patch for Elite Dangerous last week, Frontier Developments has released the Elite Dangerous update 1.44 June 17 patch just now, and it brings both fixes and changes to the gameplay.

Elite Dangerous update 1.44 June 17 patch notes:

Commodity Market

  • Reduced repeat speed on market selection arrows on Compare Market screen.

Mining

  • Reduced the largest possible yield when subsurface mining for Low Temperature Diamonds by around 25%.
  • Decreased the effectiveness of the peripheries of Low Temperature Diamond hotspots.
    • Overlapping hotspots for Low Temperature Diamonds, when coupled with the new Subsurface Mining changes, were more effective than the centre of the hotspot itself. This change increases the drop-off of the hotspot’s ring, reducing the likelihood that a double-overlapped hotspot is more lucrative than either of the hotspot’s centrepoints. A well-placed triple hotspot will still be very effective at increasing the likelihood of finding Low Temperature Diamonds. This change does not affect any other hotspots or minerals.

Crashes/Stability

  • Fixed a disconnect triggered by selling exploration data at a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed an occasional crash when entering a system with a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed an issue with some bookmarks being missing.

Fleet Carriers

  • Fixed an issue which could cause a Fleet Carrier purchase transaction to fail.
  • Skybox will now correctly update after a Fleet Carrier jump without having to re-enter the instance.
  • Fixed a bug which allowed players to install additional Carrier services even if they didn’t have capacity.
  • Fixed an issue with duplicate Fleet Carrier call-signs – this will cause all Fleet Carrier call signs to be regenerated as of 3.7.01.
  • Fixed some issues with stats not correctly updating.
  • Fixed an issues with carrier jump sequence not always proceeding correctly.

Arx & Customisation

  • Fixed an issues which caused some Fleet Carrier nameplates to be obscured.
  • Fixed the colour of landing pad 7 holo-marker on Fleet Carriers.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when switching Fleet Carrier Layout.

Audio

  • Fixed missing ATC voices at starports.
  • Fixed issue with outfitting ambiance audio layering up on top of itself when going between outfitting and livery.
  • Fixed an issue with Engineer Remote Workshop ambiance persisting into the main game, and can layer up on itself too.

Text

  • Fixed missing titles for the audio logs associated with the Golconda.

Missions

  • Fixed an issue where a collect/source mission would request commodities on sale at the same location.
  • Fixed an issue which caused mission critical updates to not appear in the inbox.

Journal

  • Added a speculative fix for an issue that could cause the game to add excessive NavRoute entries to the journal when looking at the Galaxy Map.

Powerplay

  • Fixed the missing cooldown time which would allow players to repeatedly obtain their allocation of powerplay materials.

Background Simulation and Galaxy

  • Reinstated missing locations.
  • Ongoing balancing of Faction influence normalisation.

Note that this Elite Dangerous update 1.44 June 17 patch rolled out during the maintenance period, which should be over by the time you read this.

Overwatch Update 2.91 June 16 Shoots Out, Here Are the Changes

Blizzard Entertainment has released the Overwatch update 2.91 June 16 patch for all platforms, and it’s live now! There are Competitive updates, as well as hero changes! Head on below for the full patch notes.

Overwatch update 2.91 June 16 patch notes:

2019 OVERWATCH LEAGUE MVP SKIN: ALIEN ZARYA

Celebrate the 2019 Overwatch League MVP with the Alien Zarya skin! This skin is a unique combination of influences. Her extraterrestrial form features nodes that respond to Zarya’s Particle Cannon charge and facial tentacles that glow in her signature pink, while her sleek suiting is inspired by retro fashion. Learn more about the skin and the League within the Overwatch League menu!

GENERAL UPDATES

New Feature: Priority Requeue for Collapsed Games

If a competitive game collapses due to a player leaving early, you are now granted a priority requeue the next time you queue to play. You will see a small icon on the interface to denote this status. When you queue for a game with priority queue status, the matchmaker tries to prioritize finding an appropriate game for you. This normally results in significantly lower times waiting in queue.

COMPETITIVE UPDATES

  • Competitive Open Queue Season 2 has begun! Find this game mode within the Arcade for roughly two weeks. This mode will use standard Competitive Play rules, but will have no role restrictions or role queues.

HERO UPDATES

ECHO

Focusing Beam felt slightly too long-ranged given how lethal it has the potential to be. Echo may have to get a bit closer to utilize the ability but certainly has the mobility to do so.

Focusing Beam
  • Range reduced from 20 to 16 meters

GENJI

We’re looking to strengthen Genji’s close-range combat effectiveness to help solidify his viability as a mobile burst-damage hero. We’ll keep a close eye on his overall power as we’re increasing both the flexibility of Deflect and improving the shuriken damage consistency at the same time.

Shuriken

General

  • Damage increased from 28 to 30

Secondary Fire

  • Spread reduced from 12 to 9
Deflect
  • Duration increased from 1.5 to 2 seconds
  • Can now be cancelled manually

HANZO

The previous combination of changes to the projectile speed and the damage of Storm Arrows impacted Hanzo more than intended so we’re reverting the Storm Arrow damage back its previous value.

Storm Arrows
  • Damage increased from 60 to 70

ORISA
Halt!
  • Increased sound effects volume

WORKSHOP UPDATES

New Workshop Actions
  • Attach Players
  • Detach Players
  • Start Forcing Player Position
  • Stop Forcing Player Position
New Workshop Values
  • Is In Alternate Form
  • Is Duplicating
  • Hero Being Duplicated

BUG FIXES

General
  • Deathmatch – Fixed a bug where the end of round flow music would not transition properly
  • Fixed a bug in which custom game settings were sometimes being reverted to default between rounds of a Control map or when causing one’s own death while Respawn as Random Hero is active
  • Custom games will no longer shut down due to server load issues when using Mei’s primary fire with a 0% freeze rate
  • Fixed a bug where custom game lobby privacy settings were reset when importing a share code
Heroes

Echo

  • Fixed a bug that would allow Reinhardt’s Charge to hit Echo when using her Duplicate ability
  • Fixed a bug where Echo would lose her ultimate charge if she dies with her ultimate target confirmation active
  • Fixed a bug with Echo becoming stuck in her Focusing Beam animation
  • Fixed a bug where a cloned hero’s communication wheel settings would not copy over properly

Mei

  • Fixed a bug that would cause Mei’s hat to fall off when using Cryo-Freeze while wearing her Mei-rry skin
  • Fixed a bug with Mei’s drone not animating correctly at the end of her Blizzard ultimate ability

Sombra

  • Fixed a bug where Sombra could sometimes hack people right as they started an ability that would prevent hacking (i.e. Wraithform, Meteor Strike)

Symmetra

  • Fixed a bug where Symmetra Turrets could be placed on certain spawn doors
Workshop
  • Fixed a bug in which restarting a rule that was using the Wait action and then executing the same Wait action on the same frame could cause the action to wait forever
  • Fixed a bug in which using a chased variable for the rate or destination of the Chase action that was modifying it would cause incorrect behavior
  • Fixed a bug in which the final objective of an Assault, Hybrid, or Escort map could be completed when Disable Built-In Game Mode Completion was in effect
  • Fixed a bug in which reaching 100% distance or capture progress on the final objective of an Assault, Hybrid, or Escort map would cause endless beeping if Disable Built-In Game Mode Completion was in effect
  • Fixed a bug which caused the Stop Transforming Throttle action not to work
  • The Is Using Ultimate value now returns true when D.Va is using either of her ultimate abilities
  • The Is Using Ultimate value now returns true for the first few frames of Echo’s ultimate (After the first few frames, check the new Is Duplicating value)
  • The Is Using Ultimate value now returns true for Ashe only while B.O.B. is alive
  • Fixed a bug which caused the Respawn action to stop working for players that had recently been resurrected
  • Fixed rules with Echo as the designated hero not always executing correctly during or after her ultimate
  • Fixed the Is Primary Fire value sometimes returning incorrect values after Winston’s ultimate and during Hanzo’s Storm Arrows ability
  • The Is Using Ability 2 value no longer returns true for Widowmaker if her only existing Venom Mine has been fired off the map
  • Fixed a bug where script error messages remained on screens for certain subroutine errors even after fixing the issue in the editor
  • Fixed a bug preventing Set Objective Description from working when executed prior to the player spawning in
  • Fixed a bug preventing Disable Built-In Game Mode Announcer from working in certain modes
  • Fixed a bug preventing the Damage Over Time effects from occurring when first starting the Molten Floor Workshop Preset
  • Fixed a bug preventing Set Match Time from being able to be used while in Assemble Heroes in CTF
  • Fixed a bug preventing certain abilities from triggering Dealt/Received Knockback Events (Junkrat’s self-knockback from Concussive Mine, Doomfist’s Rocket Punch, and Reinhardt’s Rocket Hammer)
  • Fixed a bug preventing Sigma’s Ultimate Ability from working properly when gravity settings were altered via Workshop or Custom Game Settings
  • Fixed a bug preventing the names of Dummy Bots from properly showing up in Kill Cams, POTGs, and End of Match Summaries
  • Fixed a bug where Destroy All Dummy Bots failed to work in certain scenarios

Note that this Overwatch update 2.91 June 16 patch notes are different from Experimental and what’s being tested in the PTR.

Modern Warfare Playlist Update June 16 Now Live

Enjoying Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 so far? If you’re one of the players not warm to the playlists we have since the season started, Infinity Ward has released the Modern Warfare playlist update June 16 refresh and it’s live now!

Modern Warfare Playlist Update June 16:

Today’s #ModernWarfare playlist update is now live!
· Adding Gunfight 3v3 Snipers Only
· Adding Gunfight Blueprints
· Adding One in the Chamber
· Adding Realism Ground War

And for #Warzone players, we’ll be bringing Plunder variant, Blood Money back this Thursday, June 18th!

Don’t forget to check out the Modern Warfare Season 4 roadmap, as well as the leaked 200-player Warzone game mode coming this season.

What game mode should Infinity Ward roll out for multiplayer? Personally, I’m hoping Deathmatch Domination becomes a regular fixture since it has the perfect blend of objective play and kill-mongering that players crave.

We’re not expecting any stealth gameplay changes included in the Modern Warfare playlist update roll out, but if we spot any, we’ll update the post.

DC Fandome Digital Event Announced, New WB Games Announcement Incoming

It’s been quite some time since we heard anythiing regarding Rocksteady Studios, the studio behind the excellent Batman: Arkham franchise, though that might be changing soon. Warner Bros., which is the parent company of DC, has announced the DC Fandome event!

Set to take place this August 22, the DC Fandome event is a digital-only presentation where fans can learn more and meet the creators (virtually) behind the brand’s films, TV, comics, and yes, even games. In the press release announcement, it mentions that WB Games, which is the games division of Warner Bros. will have “new announcements” — yes, with an S!

Imagine all the Super Heroes and Super-Villains you’ve ever loved finally coming together in one place to celebrate DC’s past, present and future.  Accessible for 24 hours at DCFanDome.com, the global event will immerse fans into the DC Multiverse, with new announcements from WB Games, Film and TV, and comics, as well as an unprecedented opportunity to hear from the casts and creators behind your favorite feature films and TV series, including: AquamanThe BatmanBatwomanBlack AdamBlack LightningDC Super Hero GirlsDC’s Legends of TomorrowDC’s StargirlDoom PatrolThe FlashHarley Quinn, the SnyderCut of Justice League,LuciferPennyworthSHAZAM!,The Suicide SquadSupergirlSuperman & LoisTeen Titans GO!TitansWatchmenYoung Justice: Outsiders and, coming this fall to theaters worldwide, Wonder Woman 1984.

DC Fandome will take place at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT on Saturday, August 22, and will be free for fans. More details on the event, cosplay entries and more can be seen here.

Does this mean we’ll see Rocksteaty Studios’ next project there? Maybe, but odds are, we’ll see WB Games Montreal (Batman Arkham Origins) announce their new game there given the studio has already released teasers for it. Who knows? Maybe we’ll get an announcement from both studios? Well, one can hope.

Neverwinter Update 7.90 June 16 Brings Gameplay Changes

Cryptic Studios has released the Neverwinter update 7.90 June 16 patch for consoles today and it’s live now. There are tech fixes, but for the most part, the big deal here are the gameplay-related changes. Head on over for the full notes.

Neverwinter update 7.90 June 16 patch notes:

Content and Environment

Cloaked Ascendancy

  • Shard of Night: The respawn locations in this instance have been fixed.

Rage of Bel

  • Insurgencies should no longer have a chance to spawn without any enemies spawning.
  • There’s no longer a place where players can fall through the world during an Insurgency.

Vallenhas

  • The Devil Siege Heroic Encounter once again properly shows a boss health bar.

Combat and Powers

Classes and Balance

  • Paladin: Bond of Virtue: This power’s duration is no longer increased by the feat Enduring Spirit.
  • Paladin: Bond of Virtue: This power no longer triggers the Blood Raven Set Bonus, since it is not an AoE spell.

Item Powers

  • Blood Crystal Raven Skull: This item’s set bonus no longer stacks when used by multiple players. It now only procs once per cast, on only one character per cast.
  • Rage of Bel: Ranks 2-7 of the Forger’s Box no longer incorrectly shows multiple instances of Power buffs in the Buffs display.

Items and Economy

Rage of Bel

  • The Battle Worn Metal Rod and rings now have a chance to drop for all players who damage a warlord.

Vallenhas

  • The upgrade item, Fallen Paladin’s Holy Symbol, can now properly drop from Heroic Encounters.

Wasteland Lockbox

  • The tooltip now properly says that it can give out 1 Companion Upgrade Token Mini-Pack, not 2.

General

  • A few typos have been addressed.
  • Longbow of the Infernal Forge: This weapon is no longer incorrectly wielded as a melee weapon.
  • Various Rage of Bel weapons now display properly when outside of combat.

User Interface

Guild

  • Some guild-related error messages now properly have text.

Map

  • The Rage of Bel meter now always rounds down, so that it doesn’t incorrectly show 100% completion when it’s 99.5% complete.

Character Art

Rage of Bel

  • Off-hand transmutation items from Rage of Bel now properly display.
  • Various new items have had minor clipping issues addressed.

That’s all the changes included in this Neverwinter update 7.90 June 16 patch. Once we know more, we’ll let our readers know ASAP.

No Man’s Sky Update 2.53 June 16 Patch, 2.52.1 on PC Deployed

Following the big No Man’s Sky patch that brought in crossplay to the game, Hello Games has released a new patch just a few days ago, but it seems they’re not done just yet for the month. Today, Hello Games has released the No Man’s Sky update 2.53 June 16 patch, and as one might expect, it’s for fixes.

Hello Games calls this the 2.52.1 patch for PC, though its also out on consoles.

No Man’s Sku update 2.53 June 16 patch notes:

Hello everyone,

Thank you to everyone playing the Crossplay Update, especially those taking the time to report any issues they encounter via Zendesk or console crash reporting.

We are listening closely to your feedback, and have identified and resolved a number of stability issues. These fixes have been combined into patch 2.52.1, which is now live on Steam and GOG.

  • We’ve fixed a number of issues specific to AMD GPUs. We are aware of other GPU specific crashes and are working with AMD to fix them on a driver level. In the meantime, they have recommended rolling back to the previous WHQL driver 20.4.2, which can be found here: link.
  • We are also aware of a number of Windows 7 users who are unable to connect. This is a platform security issue, and requires an update to enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols in WinHTTP in Windows, found here: link
  • Fixed a rare networking crash related to base building.
  • Fixed a crash related to broken ships.

As far as we’re aware, the No Man’s Sky update 2.53 June 16 patch includes just that, and as you can see, it’s mostly for PC fixes. That said, the broken ship crashing issue being addressed should be appreciated by gamers.
