PUBG Update 1.47 July 30 Brings Season 8 to Consoles

While PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) PC players got it last week, Season 8 is now out for consoles too! PUBG Corp. has released the PUBG update 1.47 July 30 patch! The biggest thing here is, of course, the Sanhok remaster, the Loot Truck and more.

Sanhok Remaster – Return to Sanhok

The main feature of update 8.1 is of course Sanhok, which has been reworked from the ground up to look better, perform better, and offer more balanced gameplay. We wanted Sanhok to feel more like a forgotten, overgrown paradise while addressing some of the most glaring balance issues we’ve seen over the last couple of years. We’re happy with what we’ve created and hope you are as well. Read on below for some snippets on what we’ve changed in some of the island’s more prominent areas.

Sanhok Season 8 Key landmark changes

Bootcamp

Bootcamp has been completely reworked. We wanted to keep this a hot drop location, while improving the feel and competitive conflict in the area. There is plenty of line of sight for long range engagements but also lots of cover for players to advance on opponents. There are underground areas for aggressive close quarters combat as well. Overall, we feel the changes have amplified the risk vs reward gameplay players want from a hot drop, while giving everyone more options to best approach different situations.

Quarry

The old version of Quarry was a beloved, yet terribly imbalanced experience. We’ve done a lot of work here to make this unique location fun and fair for those who find themselves in it. The stone blocks are now larger to provide better cover from opponents with the high ground and we’ve added some perilous rope bridges to give players more options for crossing without having to go through or around. All in all, Quarry should now be a meaningful destination for players who want long firefights and non-conventional engagements.

Airfield (Previously Mongnai)

We’ve replaced the farm area in the Northeast with a new Airfield. The farm never quite got the attention we were hoping it would, so we’ve added some incentives for players to drop on this part of the island. The main incentive being that the Airfield, perhaps unsurprisingly, now has a chance to spawn the Motor Glider! This is the only place you can find it on Sanhok, so grab a gas can and take to the skies!

Getaway (Previously Docks)

The old docks were fun, but generally were low in the loot department, especially for a drop that far away. Our replacement is the Getaway, a loot packed resort town designed to separate tourists from their money. Featuring poolside bars, a boardwalk, Sanhok’s premiere dance club, there’s plenty of neon haze to go around. Just don’t let it distract you from why you’re there.

Ruins

While the structure of the Ruins itself was always hotly contested, the areas surrounding it posed a severe disadvantage for anyone walking out without the proper gear. We’ve reworked this area to make ruins the massive, labyrinthine, and deadly destination it should be, with plenty of loot for those willing to raid its treasures.

Mountain

The mountainous area in Sanhok certainly make for topographical diversity, but when it came to actual gameplay implications, there were a number of issues here. Players caught up here with the blue zone approaching were left with few options, one of which was jumping and hoping for the best- a few of you have probably been there. The other is the straight up high ground advantage with little to no counterplay for those caught below. With these thoughts in mind, we’ve added additional pathways to reach it, adding some flanking options for the team with the high ground to defend against.

Cave

We’ve redesigned the Cave to have the fiction we’d always wanted it to have. You can still get your thrills through the scariest vertical pool drop in PUBG, but now there’s a cool subterranean temple waiting for you to explore, should you survive the fall.

River

Our main goal with the River was to give players more options to traverse it. Original Sanhok had very few places to cross without diving straight into the water, so we’ve added more bridges for crossing, additional cover on some existing bridges, and more cover on river banks should firefights open up there.

Pai Nan / Khao / Sahmee / Kampong

These towns have all received some reworking, adding verticality, interesting things to explore, new ways to fight, and most importantly, great venues to battle over the new Loot Truck as it passes through each town. In some cases, the changes are minor, such as simply widening the road so the truck can pass through to bigger reworks to create more interesting ways to battle.

Bhan

While a cool locale, Bhan was underused and a pain to loot. We’ve removed Bhan and replaced it with a normal set of houses so that we can focus on using those resources for unique locations elsewhere. Due to the more simplified and familiar building layout, this area should now be a more defensible position to loot and control.

New Feature: Loot Truck

The Loot Truck is a brand new feature that gives players an additional, albeit risky, way to gear up. Trucks spawn in one of several garages around the island and drive along roads, enticing players to attack them. As these trucks take damage, they’ll drop some loot and continue on their way. Players persistent enough to destroy the truck will be rewarded with an even bigger cache of weapons and gear for you and your squad. Be careful when attacking these rolling behemoths, though- they can take a lot of damage and doing so will certainly draw some attention.

  • Up to four Loot trucks are spawned at the start of the match.
  • Each truck is spawned separately inside of one the special garages scattered around the map.
  • When a truck is destroyed, a new truck will be spawned from the garage.
  • A total of 8 Loot Trucks can spawn in a single match.

Heavy Armour

  • Loot truck can be damaged and destroyed with weapons/throwables

  • However, the loot truck takes decreased damage due to its heavy armour.

  • As loot truck receives damage, it will start to drop lootable small or large containers.

    • Dropped containers can be looted.

  • When the truck’s durability hits 0%, the truck will explode and give excess to large amount of best loot including possible exclusive weapon loot.

    • Exclusive weapons are weapons with a pre-applied skin with a unique name.

Loot trucks are only spawned in normal matches during 8.1 update!

Balance update

Remastered Sanhok will feature mostly similar item spawns compared to previous version of Sanhok.

  • However, the Panzerfaust has now been added to world spawn loot.

Vehicle spawns in Sanhok has been slightly adjusted to fit the new map.

  • Some vehicle spawn spots were deleted to make way to the new loot truck’s path.

Weather

  • Remastered Sanhok will feature clear day, sunrise, sunset, and overcast weather types.

Other changes

  • Due to the remake of ‘Getaway’ (previously Docks), Docks map is now removed from TDM map selection.

  • Updated Sanhok will be available on both Normal/Ranked matches as well as in Custom matches.

    • Old Sanhok will be no longer available in all game modes.

  • New Sanhok themed lobby and exclusive BGM has been updated.

  • Adjusted the Fade effect of the bluezone walls to look more natural.

Survivor Pass: Payback

With the new season comes a new Survivor Pass! Survivor Pass: Payback lets you earn nearly 100 new skins as you explore the remastered island of Sanhok. Complete special missions to unlock unique weapon skins and face paints. We’ve also increased the XP you can earn through playing and surviving, up to 7200 XP per day just by playing the game!

Deleted Mission tabs

Following 3 mission tabs were deleted from the survivor pass.

  • Community Mission

  • Progression Mission

  • Beginner Mission

Changes in Season missions

  • After the update, unlike before, all missions will be opened rather than waiting for each mission to be opened every month

  • Complete all 4 types of Sanhok related missions to earn total 4 different weapon skins

Challenge Mission

  • These are challenging missions based on the theme ‘Survival’

  • They are composed of total 16 missions capable of earning 4 make-up items

Survivor Pass XP

  • Now players will be able to acquire more XP proportional to the time survived in normal/ranked match.

  • Players can earn approx. 600XP per 1 hour of normal gameplay and maximum 7200 XP per day.

Gameplay

Gas Can Improvements

The Gas Can improvements, which were postponed from update 7.2, are now back with some changes!

  • Changes from 7.2 patch

    • Spilled fuel was too easy to be spotted making difficult for players to make ambushes.

    • Spilled fuel is now blend much better with the environment making it difficult to spot.

    • Fuel now splatter in larger areas/puddles so that once its lit, it flames similar to the molotov’s flame.

    • We have decreased the number of fuel cans and increased the spawn time in the training mode

  • You can now equip Gas Cans in the melee weapon slot.

  • Press “attack” to pour gas on the ground. It takes around 7 seconds to empty the can.

  • Spilled fuel can be set on fire with gunshots, molotovs, and grenade explosions.

    • Fire deals the same damage as a molotov, but burns longer (~20 seconds).

    • Spilled fuel evaporates in about 3.5 minutes.

  • You can also throw the Gas Cans the same way as melee weapons (aim, then press attack), which causes it to release some fuel upon landing, making it easier to ignite and explode.

    • Jerry Cans cannot be picked up or reused after being thrown, but can still explode.

  • Changes to Jerry Can explosions:

    • Deals less initial damage. Max 40 dmg, which scales down with distance from the explosion.

    • Now sets the nearby area on fire like a molotov, dealing damage over time.

Parachute Follow Feature

Added parachute follow to help teammates land together.

This feature was temporarily removed after its addition in Update 6.2 due to some technical issues which have now been resolved.

  • During the pre-match countdown, follow UI will be shown at the bottom left of the screen.

  • Open the map to select a teammate to follow.

  • You can still select a teammate to follow up until exiting the plane.

  • After selecting a teammate to follow, you can cancel on the map screen, or also by holding the cancel button(PS4: O / Xbox & Stadia: B) while in the plane, or while actively following a player in your parachute.

  • If you’re obstructed by terrain or an object, your follow will be cancelled.

  • A new icon has been added to better highlight the “Disable Follow” option

The intention behind this feature to help make the parachuting process more convenient in teamplay situations. Parachuting is a skill to learn in and of itself, and every now and then, you often run into teammates who don’t know where or how to land. Many times you had to see teammates get knocked in the early stages of the match because they landed just too far from their teammates. With the parachute following feature, players can simply choose a teammate to follow and safely land near where they do. Super convenient for going on those quick bathroom breaks during drops too.

Ranked Mode

New Season

A new Ranked Season has begun. Ranked Rewards for Season 7 will be distributed to players shortly after launching into the new season.

  • Vikendi has been added to the Ranked map pool.

    • You will be randomly matched in one of the following maps: Erangel/Miramar/Vikendi/Sanhok.

    • We have adjusted the map ratio with the addition of Vikendi.

  • Player ranks have been reset

    • Players will be given their initial rank after 5 placement matches.

    • MMR has been soft-reset, so your initial Season 8 placement will be influenced by your Season 7 rank.

  • Leaderboards have been reset

Game Mode Updates

  • Team placements

    • RP(Ranked Point) acquired based on players performance will have to account for Team placement rather than individual placement

      • When a player leaves a match even though teammates are still alive, placement points will be calculated based on the team placement at the very moment when the player leaves the match.

  • If the player decides to stay with the teammates and the team wins the chicken dinner, the player’s placement point will be considered as 1st place.

  • Bonus kill points

    • When killing an enemy player whose rank is higher than 5 divisions, (ex. Silver 5 killing Gold 5 player) player will be able to earn a bonus RP.

      • The greater the difference in rank tiers, the more bonus RP granted to players.

      • Killing a higher ranked player will grant bonus BP RP.

  • RP Growth rate adjustment

    • In order to have players reach the rank best matching their skills, we have adjusted the RP growth rate 50% greater.

  • The minimum Survival Mastery level to participate in Ranked Mode has been increased to level 40 (previously level 20).

Ranked mode ruleset update

With Vikendi joining the Ranked, overall update has been made to the ranked mode rule set.

  • Vikendi is now playable in Ranked mode.

    • Vikendi’s bluezone has been adjusted accordingly to match Ranked mode.

    • Vikendi’s redzone has been removed just like other maps in Ranked mode.

  • Item

    • Small amount of M249 is now spawned in the world

    • DBS is now spawned in the world

    • Mosin-Nagant is now spawned in Erangel/Vikendi.

    • Small amount of crossbow is now spawn in the world.

  • Vehicles

    • Vehicles are now spawned on the Esports fixed spawn locations

      • However, in Ranked mode, vehicle will be not spawned in ‘100%’ possibility.

    • Motorglider is now spawned in Ranked.

      • Motorglider is only spawned in Erangel/Miramar.

      • Motorglider will have small amount of fuel ready in the tank.

  • Flare Gun

    • BRDM-2 is no longer summonable with a flare gun.

      • BRDM-2 has been too overpowered in ranked mode than our expectations.

Ranked-FPP Mode

Season 7 is coming to a close, and we’d like to thank all players who played and participated in the inaugural season of Ranked Mode. The first season was a bit of an experiment for us as we did not know how opening two new queues to the game would affect overall matchmaking, and how our community would take to them. It’s clear from our data that a large majority of our players prefer Ranked-TPP. This combined with the lack of Ranked-FPP matches being created throughout the entirety of the season, we will be closing the Ranked-FPP queue with Season 8.

With your feedback and suggestions, we’re making some other changes to the Ranked ruleset which are detailed in these patch notes. We hope you enjoy this next season of Ranked, we look forward to hearing your thoughts on all of the changes!

Survival Mastery
  • Maximum amount of Survival mastery exp available per match is now set to 1500XP.

Performance
  • Optimized the unnecessary process during opening and closing UI such as inventory and maps to improve hitching

  • Desynchronized how the game loads icons in the inventory to improving hitching during icon loading process.

  • The game now preloads bluezone before the game starts so that no more hitching occurs while loading a bluezone when match starts

  • Optimized the physical actors (objects) to improve CPU performance.

  • Thread scheduling optimization to improve CPU performance.

  • Fixed an issue with Dynamic Resolution to improve framerate stability.

Sound

Footstep sound re-design and remaster

In order to provide better sounds, following improvements has been made

  • Quality & details of the sound resource itself has been improved.

  • Quality upgrade to footstep sounds by distance.

  • Minimized the sound difference between bare foot and with a shoe equipped.

UI/UX

In-game HUD Improvement

  • Improved the boost icon so that players can visually distinguish the 2 different stages of running boost.

New Caption

  • New caption has been added to the main menu Store tab to notify new items.

UI Design Improvements

  • Unified the style of the drop-down menu and improved for much more clear understanding on control method=

  • Improved the style of toll tips to be more consistent.

Emote preview feature

  • Now you can preview your emote from “Customize” > “Emote”.

Added Irish language

  • Now PUBG officially supports Irish. Brendan Greene is Irish, BTW (Will not be provided on PTS, will be available from the 8.1 Live server update.)

Social

‘Team up’ System

Now you can easily ‘Team Up’ with other players who you’ve met in normal, ranked matches!

  • In match result screen of both normal and ranked matches, you can now use the Team Up button to form a team.

  • In case of premade teams, only the team’s host can activate the Team Up button.

  • Death cam will be still available after pressing the Team Up button.

  • When Team Up is successful, new team will be redirected to the game lobby screen after 5 seconds

  • If there are no other players left in the match result screen, player won’t be able to activate Team Up.

  • Friend list is now updated in real-time

Bug Fixes

Gameplay

  • Fixed the issue where footstep sounds were not played properly

  • Fixed the abnormally quiet footstep sound played on certain floor types in large apartment building, Erangel.

  • Fixed the issue where melee weapons teleport when thrown inside a vehicle

  • Fixed the awkward movement of No.2 player character when pressing ready.

  • Fixed an issue where DBNO character moves continuously from other players’ point of view.

  • Fixed an issue where BP calculation malfunctioned in public matches with Bots involved.

  • Fixed an issue where if a player enters ADS with 4x scope equipped and moves it down, part of the reticle blinks.

World

  • Fixed the issue with certain object becoming invisible when using scopes in the training mode

  • Fixed the issue where windows in Cement Factory building would not brake when players vault.

  • Fixed a sound issue in Erangel apartments where if you are located in a different floor, volume of other players’ footsteps on concrete is noticeably smaller than footsteps on wood.

  • Fixed an issue on Miramar where footstep sounds are not heard continuously when performing certain steps.

UI/UX

  • Fixed the excessively narrow scroll bar located in the store menu

  • Fixed the false preview screen displayed in customize tab when previewing item boxes which are still on sale

  • Fixed the unnecessary penalty pop-up message displayed in ranked mode after spectating the players killer player

  • Fixed the issue where players were directed to wrong menu screen

  • Fixed the wrong season title displayed in the Career menu

  • Fixed the issue where observing player’s weapon UI is not correctly displayed.

  • Fixed the issue of when you view a player’s gamer card from the custom match lobby, the number of players were visible in the rich presence.

  • Fixed an issue the death cam isn’t played and moved to lobby even when you press the death cam button from the results page.

  • Fixed an issue of  the player Card’s 3D modeling not being displayed from the Mastery Tab.

  • Fixed an issue of loot glow/pulse affect not saving preference.

  • Fixed an issue where the name of the PCS1-M416 skin is displayed as M16A4 when the game language is set to Russian.

  • Fixed an issue where the ‘Survival Level Too Low’ UI styling doesn’t match the design.

  • Fixed an issue where the profile image of the Xbox player from the recently played list is a default image.

  • Fixed an issue where the Normal/Ranked toggle UI appears even when season is set to Season 1 – 6  in “Career>Stats”.

Skin & Item

  • Fixed the issue where character’s neck part becoming invisible when equipping biker jacket and Ice Princess costume.

  • Fixed the issue where part of Tenebres AKM weapon skin remaining the weapon even after changing to other skin type.

  • Fixed the issue of PEL 2019 Phase 3 item displayed as other item

  • Fixed the clipping issue with Major Trouble costume with a character.

  • Fixed the clipping issue with PLAYERUNKNOWN’S Trenchcoat and PGC 2019 Combat pants.

Halo Infinite Nerf Gun Now Available for Pre-Order, Includes “Digital Asset” for Game

While Master Chief’s fight in Halo Infinite isn’t happening until this holiday, Halo fans can at least act like they’re Master Chief with the Halo Infinite Nerf gun! The NERF Halo MA40 motorized dart blaster is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Here’s the features list for this Halo Infinite Nerf gun that interestingly enough, comes with “a game card with a code to unlock a digital asset in the Halo game.”

  • DART-FIRING HALO BLASTER REPLICA: This MA40 blaster is inspired by the one in Halo Infinite, capturing the look of the blaster from the next chapter in this legendary video game franchise
  • MOTORIZED DART BLASTING: Scorch the battlefield with motorized dart blasting! Hold down the acceleration button to power up the motor, and press the trigger to fire
  • INCLUDES 10-DART CLIP AND 10 NERF DARTS: Includes a 10-dart clip and 10 Official Nerf Elite foam darts that are tested and approved for performance and quality
  • RAIL RISER FOR NERF GEAR AND ACCESSORIES: Attach the included rail riser to the blaster’s tactical rail, to add customizing Nerf gear and accessories (not included)
  • GAME CARD WITH UNLOCK CODE: It includes a game card with a code to unlock a digital asset in the Halo game*

There’s no mention of what this “digital asset” is, but I’m guessing it’s a weapon skin or something that will probably be cosmetics-related, and won’t affect gameplay.

In other Halo Infinite news, developer 343 Industries has commented on how big the game’s campaign is, and says it’s “several times larger” than the previous two Halo games combined.

Rogue Company Update 1.26 July 29 Introduces Fixes

While developer First Watch Games released a patch for Rogue Company just a few days ago, the studio has today released the Rogue Company update 1.26 July 29 patch and it includes a fair number of fixes! It’s out now on PC and PS4, with the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch version getting it soon (once approved).

Rogue Company Update 1.26 July 29 Introduces Fixes patch notes:

As of 4:00 PM ET (20:00 UTC) we released a client only hotfix for Epic and PS4 (Nintendo and Xbox will follow once approved). Please note the following changes:

  • The VS screen now has an indication the match is loading

  • Players should no longer respawn in Chimera when dying in Strikeout

  • Emote Music will no longer be heard next round if player is dancing during the round transition

  • Players can no longer access the roofs of the large buildings in Skyfell

  • Fixed an issue with players purchasing multiple Founder’s Packs from receiving them

  • Fixed 2 map exploits in Windward

  • Party leader and party members no longer see different queues while queued

  • When leaving a party, the “A player has left your party” notification will no longer appear twice

BASTION FLEET CARRIER

An Empire’s might and determination, symbolized in metal and voiced through cannon fire. The Bastion Fleet Carrier descends from orbit, ready to wage war across the battlefields of Auraxis.

  • With enough resources and time, any Outfit can now craft and call planetside this massive warship.
  • This fleet carrier comes equipped with shipboard turrets, command-based artillery systems, an interceptor launch platform, and can act as a spawn point for your entire Outfit.
  • A singular Captain commands this warship over the continent, maneuvering to protect its weakpoints and project its power.
  • Bastions require significant Outfit coordination and investment to call in, and each Empire can only field one at any given time.

Calling your Bastion

  • Outfits craft multiple pieces of their Bastion in the Outfit Armory using resources they’ve secured through combat (those topics are covered further down.)
  • When enough time and resources are invested, authorized Outfit members will be able to use the Bastion Uplink Terminal located at every Warpgate to call down their Bastion.

Manning your Stations

  • The first seat is the Captain’s, and seats 2 – 10 are turrets, and additional seats are for passengers. Bastions can hold a total of 48 players at any time.
  • The Captain uses waypoints on the map (or mini-map) to move the Bastion around the map, and order its artillery barrage. Captain must maintain this seat in order to continue issuing commands.
  • There are two types of mannable turrets aboard the Bastion currently. One is an anti-air/multi-purpose gatling, and the second is an air to ground cannon.
  • Any player who ejects from the Bastion will be mounted in an Interceptor class fighter with a unique loadout and built-in ejection seat.

Taking it Down

  • Each Bastion has eight weakpoints located around the ship. Any anti-vehicle weaponry can damage these weak points.
  • Weak points cannot be repaired, but do have a regenerating shield layer that comprises a quarter of their total health pool.
  • When all weakpoints are destroyed, the Bastion will self destruct into a glorious explosion.

COLOSSUS TANK

The Colossus Heavy Tank, a massive, 5-seated combat platform, has been deployed to the battlefields of Auraxis.

  • Capable of transforming into a powerful anti-Bastion Skylance Battery, a deployed Colossus emits a hardened shield bubble that can protect allies nearby.
  • The Skylance fires a piercing beam that passes through vehicles, and can strike any of the Bastion Fleet Carrier’s weakpoints from the ground. A special HUD assists in targeting.
  • The strength of the Skylance is so powerful that it damages the Colossus’ structural integrity while doing so, requiring allied support to keep the vehicle operational.
  • Advanced Nanite Transports (or ANTs) can also assist the Colossus by restocking its deployed shield with the Cortium that powers it.
  • Outfits can create this vehicle as a War Asset within the Outfit Armory, and deploy it from special terminals located at allied Warpgates and Tech Plants.
  • A number of weapons and enhancements are available to the Colossus which can be purchased with the Outfit-based Merit currency.

WAR ASSETS & OUTFIT ARMORY

Ever wanted to call in some vehicle support from orbit? Outfits are now equipped with new tools to impact the flow of battle, offer strategic control, and add depth and variety to every soldier’s gameplay experience.

These War Assets are crafted on the new the Outfit Armory page using resources your Outfit has secured through battle. Initial example assets include:

  • Steel Rain: Deploy your entire squad in a coordinated drop pod assault anywhere on the map.
  • Citadel Shield: A massive projectile-blocking bubble shield encases the area, providing room to advance, or defense against an incoming assault.
  • A.N.V.I.L.: Airdrop a vehicle of your choosing to reinforce your defenses, or mobilize your allies.
  • Orbital Satellite Uplink: Call for an Orbital Strike at your target location to crack an enemy armor column.

War Assets take time and resources to craft, and Outfit leaders will have the ability to grant privileges to their Outfit members to craft and/or deploy these Assets and turn the tides of battle!

FACILITY MODULES

We’ve expanded upon the War Asset system to bring a new type of strategic asset to Auraxis. Outfits can now craft Facility Modules that impart region-wide benefits, and most previously existing facility benefits have been rolled into this new feature.

Current Facility Modules available:

  • Phalanx Auto-Repair: Phalanx turrets installed at this base will repair themselves overtime. Even when destroyed or under attack.
  • Infantry Health Regen: While in the region, allied soldiers gain passive health regeneration.
  • Light Vehicle Discount: Harasser assault buggies and Flash ATVs cost 30% less Nanites when pulled from this facility.
  • Support Vehicle Discount: Sunderers and ANTs cost 30% less Nanites when pulled from this facility.
  • Mobile Armor Discount: Lightnings and Main Battle Tanks cost 30% less Nanites when pulled from this facility.
  • Light Aircraft Discount: Empire Specific Fighters and Valkyrie Aircraft cost 30% less Nanites when pulled from this facility.
  • Heavy Aircraft Discount: Liberator Gunships and Galaxy Air Transports cost 30% less Nanites when pulled from this facility.
  • Phalanx Combat Improvements: Phalanx turrets at the facility gain infrared zoom optics and can fire for longer before overheating

As a part of this feature’s introduction, we’ve adjusted the rules for spawning MBT and Liberator.

  • Liberators and Main Battle Tanks no longer rely on the Tech Plant benefit to be pulled.
  • Liberators can now always be pulled from Outposts with Air Pads available.
  • Main Battle Tanks can now only be pulled from Large Outposts and Facilities.

SECURING OUTFIT RESOURCES

On the map screen, players will see new Outfit-based resources associated with each territory. These resources come in three rarities, Auraxium (common), Synthium (uncommon), Polystellarite (rare).

Capturing a base will always yield an amount of Auraxium, while claiming it for your Outfit will provide the resource ticks shown on the map every 5 minutes.

Claiming territory for your Outfit is important, as it keeps your resources stocked, and is also amplified when starting or winning the Meltdown continent alert.

  • When a Meltdown alert triggers, the faction that started the alert will receive an immediate 5x tick of resources from bases they own.
  • When a Meltdown alert ends, the faction that won the alert will receive an immediate 5x tick of resources from bases they own.
  • Unstable Meltdown alerts do the same, but with only a 2x tick of resources from bases owned.
  • At the end of the alert, all outfit ownership is wiped.

In addition, Expeditions can be crafted in the Outfit Armory that, for a small investment and some time, reward you with resources of a higher rarity.

Expeditions must be claimed in the Nascent Expeditions office on Sanctuary.

SANCTUARY

Nanite Systems welcomes you to Sanctuary, a neutral home for the war weary, a place of trade, and a staging point for future exploration and expansion.

While in Sanctuary, all factions and allegiances are able to occupy the same space. Weapon use, and damage in general, is disabled in this new social hub.

Areas

Sanctuary launches with two main areas, the Atrium, and Central Operations.

  • The Atrium is a spacious area with a view of Auraxis and beyond. It also houses marketplace vendors and various services.
  • Upstairs, Central Operations is run by Nanite Systems employees to coordinate the various day to day workings of the Sanctuary satellite.

Marketplace

Various vendors and representatives can be found on board Sanctuary.

Purchase Rare Weapons and Equipment

In the shop to the left, players can find SPRK-33, a vendor that deals in the new A7 currency.

  • Throughout the world, players will occasionally find loose data that, once decrypted, can be collected for A7.
  • Participating in a Meltdown Alert will also give players A7 based on how much time they’ve spent in the Alert. The victorious faction receives more, so fight your hardest.

Trade Outfit Resources and claim completed Expeditions.

In the center shop, players will find a Nascent Expeditions Rep. and an Expedition Coordinator that both deal with Outfit Resources.

  • The Nascent Rep. allows for the trading of Outfit Resource types, converting them to greater or lesser rarities for a cost.
  • The Expedition Coordinator will debrief Outfits who have completed Expeditions, rewarding them with Outfit Resources.

Join an Outfit and purchase Outfit Equipment, Cosmetics, and Boosts

In the shop on the right, players will find an Outfit Recruiter and an Outfit Quartermaster that uses Loyalty and Merit to offer equipment to players in Outfits.

While in an Outfit, each player now gains Loyalty by capturing and defending bases with their Outfit members (a reasonable force of enemies are required at these bases in order to count toward progress.)

Loyalty acts similarly to Battle Rank, in that it increases over time, and isn’t spent like a currency. The higher the Loyalty Rank of a player, the more Outfit Quartermaster items they’ll have access to. Loyalty decays slowly over time, so be sure to keep showing up for Ops Night.

Alongside Outfit LoyaltyMerit is earned in much the same way. Capturing and Defending bases with your Outfit provides Merit, a currency that can then be exchanged with the Outfit Quartermaster for boosts, equipment, and cosmetics.

EMPIRE STRENGTH & CONTINENT META

To accommodate a more map-driven metagame, we’ve stepped away from the mid-continent events system, and made some changes to how Empire Strength is gained as the continent progresses. We may return with a replacement for events in the future, depending on how the Live gameplay turns out, but we’d want some more conducive to the map-based objectives of the game before doing so.

  • Mid-continent events (Aerial Anomalies, Maximum Pressure, etc,) have been removed.
  • Territory control of 41% now awards 5 Empire Strength.
  • Territory control of 44% provides an additional 5 Empire Strength, and this effect also occurs at 48%, 52%, 56% and 60% territory.
  • Eisa Tech Plant (Esamir) Empire Strength benefit from 30 to 20.
  • The Ascent (Amerish) Empire Strength benefit from 15 to 20.
  • The Crown (Indar) Empire Strength benefit from 15 to 20.

PlanetSide 2 update 2.15 July 29 – INFANTRY ADDITIONS

T7 Mini-Chaingun (Terran Republic Heavy Weapon)

  • Minimum refire rate from 100ms to 80ms.
  • Maximum refire rate from 75ms to 71ms.
  • Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle no longer reduces maximum refire rate (as that’s now built in by default.)
  • Ballistic Rapid Refire Toggle no longer has a hidden projectile speed benefit.

Dev Note: Always treated like a support weapon, but without the traits that make it successful as one (most support weapons sacrifice damage for accuracy or splash damage,) the Mini-chaingun is hard to justify bringing onto the battlefield over other LMG options. This update offers a significant boost to its 1v1 potential, and increases its overall ferocity.

Revive Grenade (Combat Medic)

  • Reduce detonation time by 1 second to increase responsiveness.
  • The thrower no longer receives a UI notification in an attempt to revive yourself.
  • NSO Defector units are no longer revivable with Revive Grenades.

Proximity Mine (NSO Engineer/Infiltrator utility)

  • Renamed “F.U.S.E.”
  • Fixed medal tracking issues.

MAX & DEFECTOR

Nanite Auto-Repair (Defensive Slot)

  • Repair from 0.5/0.75/1/1.25/1.5% health restored per second to 1/2/2.5/2.75/3% health restored per second.

Dev Note: Rarely in competition Kinetic Armor and Ordnance Armor, Nanite Auto-Repair has received a buff.

Defector (NSO Infantry Unit)

General

  • NSO Defector units are no longer revivable with Revive Grenades. (As mentioned above.)
  • We’ve decided to let Defectors continue to contest capture points for the time being.
  • You can now hear this unit’s footsteps in first person.

Grenade Printer (Primary Weapon)

  • Grenade Printer’s cooldown speed increased by 20%.

Hypermatic Servos

  • New Defensive Slot Certification
  • Removes the movement speed penalty of Time Bomb, and reduces the movement speed penalty of Seraph Shield to 25%. In addition, you accelerate into a sprint more quickly at all times.

PlanetSide 2 update 2.15 July 29 – NEW WEAPONS

Combat intensifies as new armaments are deployed to the front lines.

NS-66 Punisher (Common Pool SMG)

The Punisher is a next-gen PDW built with close-quarters aggression in mind. The in-built underbarrel fires fragmentation grenades, and can be adapted to fire class-specific ammunition instead.

Class Underbarrel archetypes:

  • EMP (Infiltrator) – Destroys deployables and scrambles HUD.
  • Impulse (Light Assault) – Knocks back enemies and the user on impact.
  • Enhancement (Engineer) – Mechanical targets receive increased maximum health and a repair over time.
  • Havoc (Heavy Assault) – Renders mechanical targets immune to repair effects for a time.
  • Cleanse (Combat Medic) – Heals over time and removes slow/blind/concussion effects.

NS-06 Thumper SE – Common Pool Heavy Weapon

  • This special edition variant of the Thumper heavy grenade launcher celebrates the 17-year anniversary of the PlanetSide franchise!
  • It comes equipped with an anti-infantry fragmentation payload, and has access to multiple specialized munitions.
  • This weapon contributes progress to the Exceptional III directive line.

Adjustments

Rocklet Rifle (Light Assault Tool)

  • Locklets have been replaced with Sabot Rocklets.
  • Sabot Rocklets sacrifice damage for increased accuracy at range. When equipped, alternate fire is replaced with a low-bloom 3-round burst, and projectile velocity is increased for both firemodes.

Dev Note: Reload speed increases no longer affect the Rocklet Rifle in unintended ways (ie. hyper reload speeds.) A consequence of this fix was that Typhoon Rocklet implementation had to be reworked (though players should see no gameplay impact,) and Locklets had to be replaced as an option.

NSX Tanto (Common Pool Carbine)

  • Hipfire cone of fire bloom from 0.24 to 0.12.

Dev Note: The excessive hipfire penalty on the Tanto was originally meant to offset its higher-than-normal starting accuracy, but we’ve peeled that penalty back as it has enough counterbalances elsewhere.

NSX Daimyo (Common Pool Sniper Rifle)

  • Now appears in filters as a Sniper Rifle, instead of a Scout Rifle in marketplace filters.
  • Maximum damage from 225 to 325.
  • Minimum damage from 175 to 250.
  • Headshot multiplier from 5x to 3.5x

Dev Note: We’re reducing the extremes between bodyshots and headshots a bit so the reliance on the Daimyo’s unique headshot multiplier is lessened, though it will remain incapable of a 3 bodyshot kill at maximum damage range.

Hunter QCX (Common Pool Sidearm)

  • Explosive Bolt direct damage resist type from 3 (a deprecated resist type) to 34 (Infantry Rocket Launcher.)
  • Explosive Bolt direct damage from 450 to 300.
  • Explosive Bolt indirect minimum damage from 10 to 50.
  • Explosive Bolt indirect minimum radius from 0.35m to 0.5m.
  • Explosive Bolts no longer lose damage over distance.
  • Replaced Explosive Bolts hipfire cone of fire penalty with a smaller magazine size (by 1) penalty instead.
  • Detect Bolts reduced the number you can have on the field at any time from 20 to 4.
  • Smoke Bolts have been replaced with Incendiary Bolts, which ignite enemy infantry to deal damage over time.

Dev Note: We’ve done some cleanup on the Hunter crossbow’s attachments. Explosive Bolts’ unnaturally high damage against certain targets is brought to be more in line with the weapon’s intended functions. Additionally, we’re stepping away from the spammability of smoke on this weapon to encourage the use of alternatives.

Underbarrel Smoke (Underbarrel Attachment)

  • Ammo restocking time from 4sec. to 5sec.

Dev Note: Some weapons shared this reload time already, but we’ve done a pass to put the others in parity. This change matches the reload times with underbarrel grenade launchers.

Recon Detection Device (Infiltrator Tool)

  • Maximum active darts from 20 to 6
  • Firing while aiming down sights no longer reveals your minimap location.
  • Recon Darts should no longer lift vehicles into the air when placed in their springs.

Infradine (Black Market Consumable)

  • Duration from 20 seconds to 30 seconds.
  • Nanite cost from 3 to 25.

Flash and Quick-Det Flash Grenades (Light Assault)

  • Moved the resist type from this grenade from type 2 (small arms) to type 6 (common explosives.)

Concussion Grenades (Heavy Assault)

  • Concussion turning speed reductions no longer stack, which would cause inverted movement controls.
  • Moved the resist type from this grenade from type 2 (small arms) to type 6 (common explosives.)

Revenant (Implant)

  • Rank 5 benefit has been changed to the following: If you revive an allied player, they will now be cloaked upon accepting.

Failsafe (Implant)

  • Cooldown from 20 seconds to 12 seconds, at all ranks.

Survivalist (Implant)

  • Rank 5 no longer offers reload speed increase.
  • Rank 5 now heals the player for 150 health over 6 seconds when shield is broken.
  • Sprint Speed buff will now be stripped when damage is taken.

Misc. Infantry

  • Fixed non-NSO MAX small arms resistance to the correct 80% (was previously broken at 75%.)
  • Removed the broken shield shimmer benefit from the Chameleon Module suit slot.
  • NSO Defectors no longer have the creepy human head in the second loadout slot.
  • Disengage and Heavyweight impulse effect use new visuals.

JAVELIN (NSO GROUND VEHICLE)

General

  • Vehicle terminal cost from 200 Nanites to 100 Nanites.
  • Javelin now uses its own experience type, instead of the Flash’s to award experience.
  • Using a repair tool on the Javelin will now show particle effects in the correct location.
  • Spitfire Turrets will now fire at riders.
  • Vehicle now bounces less while moving along rough terrain, is slightly less prone to nose-up while airborne, and is all around a bit more stable.

Performance Slot

  • Speed Chassis now increases afterburner fuel recharge by 30%.
  • Combat Chassis now allows greater control of side to side movement while afterburner is engaged.
  • Agility Chassis now provides lift from the ground when the afterburner is engaged.

Dev Note: We’ve made some adjustments to the chassis options to more dramatically alter how each of them makes the Javelin performs.

TACTICAL SLOT & MERIT ASSETS

We have added a new loadout slot to all players. This slot now houses Merit Reward deployables, and in the future may house other limited, tactical equipment.

Tactical Slot Deployables

Tactical Slot deployables will now be able to be restocked with Merit from the loadout screen after purchasing an initial schematic from the Outfit Quartermaster on Sanctuary.

  • Flash XS-1 is now located in the Tactical Slot.
  • Caltrop has been added as a Merit Reward item. These deployables are for outdoor use only, and can be placed to help hinder the movement of enemy vehicles.
  • Hardlight Canopy has been added as a Merit Reward item. Provides small, circular cover to protect infantry against airborne assaults.
  • Cortium Bomb has been added as a Merit Reward item. Deploys a large explosive device that deals high damage over a wide area. This bomb can be defused.

KOLTYR

The island of Koltyr has now become an instanced playspace that will become available under certain conditions.

  • During times of high server population, Koltyr will become available to accommodate the population overflow.
  • Likewise, during times of very low server population, Koltyr will become available to provide a more focused playspace.
  • Capturing 66% territory on Koltyr will trigger a 30-minute Meltdown alert, after which the continent will lock.
  • Unlike Meltdown events on full continents, Koltyr does not provide rewards on completion, but will increased experience gain by 25% for the duration of the event.
  • War Assets are not available for use on Koltyr.

SUMMER FUN

We’re bringing Summer back in the form of an updated directive line that will run from now through August 16!

Players will also be able to find two event items in their loadouts during the event.

  • Soldier Soaker: A sidearm designed to combat the Indar heat, the Soldier Soaker was an inconvenient, yet familiar way to cool off soldiers in need.
  • Water Balloon: These water balloons approved for both recreational and combat use will harm enemies and douse fires.

  • Beat the Heat: Score kills with a Summer Holiday Weapon.
  • Beachhead: Kill enemy vehicles while in a vehicle yourself.

Marvel’s Avengers Beta Will Reward Fortnite Players With Hulk Pickaxe for Completing Tasks

Announed during today’s Marvel’s Avengers War Table stream (and via a press release), Crystal Dynamics announced that a crossover (of sorts) is happening with Epic Games’ Fortnite, an the Marvel’s Avengers beta!

According to the press release, PS4 and Xbox One players who link their Square Enix Members and Epic Games accounts and complete the beta’s three HARM-room challenges (training sims) will earn the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe with bonus Hulkbuster style in Fortnite!

Those playing Fortnite that are interested, here’s the full Marvel’s Avengers beta schedule:

  • August 7-9: PlayStation 4 Pre-Order Beta
    • Marvel Avengers PlayStation 4 pre-order players only
  • August 14-16: PlayStation 4 Open Beta
  • August 14-16: Xbox One Pre-Order Beta

Marvel’s Avengers Beta Walkthrough Video Gives a Taste of What’s Coming, Beta Reward Announced

While Crystal Dynamics has already announced the Marvel’s Avengers beta schedule, the studio has shown off a Marvel’s Avengers beta walkthrough video that showcases some of the missions, levels and even the boss fight we’ll experience come August.

In the beta, players will be able to play as the Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Ms. Marvel. Players will be access the Harm Rooms (training simulators), and more. Also, for those asking, there will be a beta reward for participants that will carry over to the final game, and that’s a unique nameplate that showcases you participated in the beta.

Marvel’s Avengers will fly out this September 4 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s also confirmed ot be coming to next-gen platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X). You can check out gameplay footage showcasing the co-op right here.

First Marvel’s Avengers Post-Launch Hero Will Be Hawkeye (Update)

As part of today’s Marvel’s Avengers War Table devstream, Crystal Dynamics has announced that Hawkeye will be the first Marvel’s Avengers post-launch hero that will be available for free!

According to Crystal Dynamics, Hawkeye will have his own Hero Chain missions, storyline, and more! Check out our first look at Hawkeye in Marvel’s Avengers below.

Spoiler Alert! The Marvel’s Avengers WAR TABLE gave a sneak peek at one of the first heroes that will be added to the game after launch at no additional cost: Clint Barton’s Hawkeye. In an original story-arc inspired by some of the best-known Hawkeye moments in the comics, players wield Clint’s iconic high-tech bow and trick arrows in missions either solo or co-op online with friends. Hawkeye’s story will continue to move the entire Marvel’s Avengers narrative world forward, and all new missions are accessible with the entire roster of playable heroes. More information about this and additional post-launch content, including the new villain and other content debuting with Hawkeye’s story, will be available soon.

Sony Reveals “Ready for PS5” TV, Features 120fps at 4K

While Sony is known as an electronics giant moreso than a video game company, there’s no denying how big the PlayStation business has been for the company’s bottom line. Having said that, isn’t it weird that Sony has never tied in one of its TV with its consoles? That seems to be changing today.

Sony has announced the Sony BRAVIA X90H/XH90 Series which the company calls “Ready for PS5” TV.

It touts that the TV can run at 120 frames-per-second (fps) at 4K resolution, or in more technical terms — 4K: 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. As of right now, there is no pricing for both TV sets though we can’t see them being cheap. Both sets will support the Dualsense controller so that users can easily turn it on alongside the PS5.

If you have the cash to burn later this year once the PS5 launches, perhaps you’ll want to pick up a new TV too? Sony is hoping you’ll pick this one up for your gaming binges, I imagine.

In other PlayStation news, leaked images have surfaced indicating that the white plates/covers on the PS5 can be swapped. We also got our first look at thte PS5 controller (called the DualSense) in action last week.

Developer Evil Mojo Games has rolled out the Paladins update 2.21 July 29 patch that brings in the Radiant Stars content and changes! There’s also a new Battle Pass, cosmetics and more. Head on below for the full notes.

Battle Pass – Radiant Stars

The Darkness and Dragons Battle Pass will become purchasable with the release of Patch 4 – Radiant Stars. The Radiant Stars Battle Pass will be available for purchase with the release of patch 4.

Receive instant rewards for purchasing, and unlock over 100 more goodies just by playing and leveling up your Battle Pass. All players start earning Radiant Stars Battle Pass experience as soon as the update is live. Battle Pass purchasers unlock premium rewards every level, along with the free track rewards.

The Radiant Stars Battle Pass costs 600 Crystals, and rewards you just for playing. You can now unlock up to 450 Crystals through the Battle Pass Free Track, and an additional 150 through the Premium Track, making the Battle Pass FREE once completed. Reticle Change over Target

  • The color of your reticle will no longer change when you are aiming at an enemy in non-training matches.

Mixer Khan

  • Mixer Khan quest has been disabled, and removed from the Viewer Store. Players who own this skin will still be able to use it.

NEW: Bounty Store

We’re introducing a new way players can unlock skins just by playing Paladins! Starting with the release of Radiant Stars, players with a linked Hi-Rez account will unlock a new currency called Bounty Coins by completing daily quests. Bounty Coins can then be spent inside the Bounty Store – which will feature a limited quantity of a single skin that rotates every 72 hours.

Skins inside the Bounty Store will be priced on one of two ways:

  • Increasing Price

  • The Bounty Coin cost of the skin will start out low, and as players purchase the skin and the number available goes down, the price will increase.

  • Decreasing Price

  • The Bounty Coin cost of the skin will start out high, and each day the price will decrease.

Developer Commentary

Our aim is to make targeted, meaningful changes to improve the dynamic between Support, Frontline, and Hitscan champions at higher levels of play. After watching the Season 3 meta develop and receiving feedback from both the AOC and Paladins Pro Circuit Players, we’re hoping to address the following:

  • Strength of Hitscan champions with strong lifesteal options.

  • Underwhelming strength of off-tanks that were previously able to apply more pressure to Flank & Damage champions

  • Meta-defining nature of Io & Luna

  • Cost vs effectiveness dynamic of Master Riding and Resilience

General

Cards and on-hit effects: Modified most on-hit effects to only apply after hitting Players and Pets, rather than including Decoys, Illusions, Deployables, and Shields. There are some exceptions based on intended use-cases for particular abilities or cards. For example, cards pertaining to Drogoz’s Salvo will still have their effects applied when hitting Shields.

Developer Commentary: Consistency in effect, where possible, is important in creating a familiar structure — one that makes sense to any player who is familiar with how any given mechanic affects their gamespace — and these changes are with that purpose. Some will be more noticeable (Deep Roots will no longer chain from deployables like Barik turret) and some won’t have to change at all, but except for a very few exceptions, these effects will now be consistent across the board.

Developer Commentary: The Blue Orc is someone we care about, and these changes are a step in the direction of making playstyles — those that have historically felt underwhelming — feel a bit better. We are absolutely keeping an eye out for changes that will further improve his gameplay for future updates.

Dev Commentary: Talus is also a Champion we will be keeping our eyes on. We would like to keep the high points of his gameplay intact while mitigating some of the frustration that players may experience when dealing with his appearances in their backline. The interaction between Guts, Primeval Might, and his ability to instantly Teleport away from danger is one we want to make sure is in a healthy position.

  • Fixed an issue on Fish Market where Players could get pushed out of bounds on the edge of the map in some circumstances.

  • Fixed an issue where some sprays from the Pirate’s Treasure Battle Pass were not functioning properly.

Valve Boss Gabe Newell Prefers the Xbox Series X Over the PS5

Are you intersted in a PS5 or an Xbox Series X? Both? While some might be deciding which console to get (assuming they can’t buy both), Valve boss Gabe Newell has already cast his vote, and he’s on Team Microsoft!

In an interview, Gabe Newell was asked “which is better” the PS5 or the Xbox Series X. Without hesitation, Newell says it’s the Xbox, and when asked why, Newell says “because it’s better.”

Clearing things up a bit, Newell adds, “I don’t have a stake in that race…Obviously, we do most of our development on personal computers, but of the two I would definitely go with an Xbox.”

Well, there you have it, folks! If your purchasing decision is influenced by super-rich bosses of gaming companies, then a vote has been cast in the Xbox Series X’s favor. That said, it’s all a matter of preference, no? And if you can afford both, I don’t see why you wouldn’t buy both? I mean, each console has platform-exclusive games and whatnot.

343: Halo Infinite Campaign Is “Several Times Larger” Than Last 2 Campaigns Put Together

In case you didn’t know, 343 Industries is going the open-world route with Halo Infinite. While bits of it were revealed during the gameplay debut, fans still have no definite idea how big the Halo Infinite campaign will be. Thankfully, 343 has spoken out about it and fans are in for a treat.

According to 343 Industries Studio Head Chris Lee, the Halo Infinite campaign will be “several times larger” than the studio’s last two canpaigns put together!

The campaign in Halo Infinite is the most ambitious campaign we have ever created in a Halo game. It’s this open, expansive experience for players, and it’s several times larger than our last two campaigns put together. I think the way to think about it is this is Halo’s take on open gameplay and what kind of providing the player with unprecedented levels of freedom can feel like. We really wanted to capture that moment of players being able to kind of feel what it would be like to be on a foreigner ring and unlock secrets and kind of new equipment or upgrades along the way as they’re playing through the campaign. And I have one way to kind of give them more concrete examples when you’re looking at the demo. We showed and you’re on the elevator looking out over that vista. There’s a ton of the ring that you can see there and that is just part of the space that players will be able to explore and where Master Chief’s story will take you throughout our campaign experience.

Lee compares it t0 taking Halo CE, and “knocking the walls down” and then giving players freedom to explore on their own.

I don’t know about you, but unless Lee was referring to Halo Wars or some other non-mainline Halo entry, mentioning how it’s several times larger than the last two campaigns put together means Halo Infinite will be one meaty meaty even without the multiplayer factored in. Of course, this is to be expected somewhat given players can form a four-man team to take on the campaign online.

Halo Infinite is set to assault the Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC sometime this holiday.

MLB The Show 16 Update 1.10 Brings the Game Offline

Like it or not, games that rely on multiplayer will eventually go down, and this especially rings true for sports games. Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment San Diego Studio has released the MLB The Show 16 update 1.10, and it brings the servers offline!

Mind, I’m not sure if there’s anyone still playing this offline given MLB The Show 20 is up and about today, and y’know, sports gamers do want updated rosters and new players, but here ya go.

Predator Hunting Grounds Update 1.17 July 28 Released for Map Fix

Earlier today, Illfonic released a Predator Hunting Grounds patch that brought in a new Predator and other fixes. Well, the studio has released a new one again and it’s live now. The Predator Hunting Grounds update 1.17 July 28 patch is live, and it’s for a single fix.

  • Overgrowth is now back in the map queue and available to play!

Yep, that’s basically it. At the very least though, the studio is quick with the fixes. Speaking off, listed below are some of the stuff included in today’s update:

Paid DLC

  • New Playable Predator – City Hunter
  • Early Access to new Predator gear – Wrist Launcher
  • Early Access to new Predator weapon skin variant – [Combistick] City Hunter

General

  • Various crash and stability fixes
  • Fixed an issue where multiple loading screens would appear if the player rapidly selects their custom loadout multiple times

These are the highlights, but there’s a lot more tweaks made, which you can read about here.If you haven’t picked the game up yet, check out our review where we state the follwing, “The game comes packed with a ton of customizable cosmetics (unlocked via loot box-style mechanic) that can make both playable characters look better,” and commend on how playing as the Predator feels right in the game.

This Dreams Halo Infinite Project Needs to Be Seen to Be Believed

Have you ever wanted to play Halo on a PlayStation console? Did the Halo Infinite gameplay reveal got your juices flowing? We’re not going to see Microsoft’s premiere first-person shooter franchise on a PlayStation device anytime soon, but this Dreams Halo Infinite project might be the closest one we’ll get to that, and it looks fantastic.

Mind, this isn’t a game just yet. According to DISARMED, it’s a showcase to display what Dreams is capable of using current-gen hardware, and that it’s “super, super early” in development. It’s also not available for download currently, so fat chance using this to fake your friends out, folks.

In addition to the Dreams Halo Infinite project, if you liked how the greenery looked in that video, DISARMED also made a VR test for a forest as well. VR in the Dreams was introduced in the latest game update released last week,

While Sony has quite a impressive number of first-party franchises under its belt, one of the genres it still (kinda of) struggles with is your standard first-person shooter. Sure, Killzone and Resistance were fantastic games, but it’s not on the same level as Halo. We’re not going to see a full-fledged Halo game on a PlayStation platform anytime soon, and what we’ve seen above is probably the best we can hope for — at least for  now.
