Borderlands 3 Mayhem 2.0 Detailed

Starting tomorrow, Gearbox Software will roll out Borderlands 3 Mayhem 2.0! This is your chance to get some of the most powerful loot in the game.

Players will need to finish the main Borderlands 3 story in order to play the Mayhem 2.0 content. According to Gearbox, there will be more than 25 all-new modifiers that can be applied and rated as Easy, Medium, Hard, and Very Hard.

Easy modifiers are largely helpful, and include things like Big Kick Energy, which actually increases your weapons’ damage but also increases their recoil and spread. There’s also Galaxy Brain, which dramatically increases the size of enemies’ heads so that crit shots are easier to land.

Venture into Medium modifier territory and beyond, though, and things start to get more challenging. For example, the Medium modifier Floor is Lava “encourages” you to keep moving at all times by forming a pool of damage-dealing lava beneath your feet when you stand still, and the Hard modifier Drone Ranger spawns Healing Drones to accompany and assist enemies. We’ll let you discover the rest of the modifiers—including all of the Very Hard ones—for yourselves.

Modifiers are selected at random, but the number of modifiers and difficulty ratings of those modifiers are always the same for each Mayhem level, as shown in the table below.

Mayhem Level Modifier 1 Modifier 2 Modifier 3 Modifier 4
1 EASY
2 EASY MEDIUM
3 EASY MEDIUM MEDIUM
4 EASY HARD
5 EASY MEDIUM HARD
6 EASY MEDIUM MEDIUM HARD
7 EASY HARD HARD
8 EASY VERY HARD
9 EASY MEDIUM VERY HARD
10 EASY MEDIUM HARD VERY HARD

Once the patch is out tomorrow, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Digital Extremes Looking to Revamp Warframe Railjack With Upcoming Updates

Back in December, Digital Extreme launched a massive Warframe update called “Empyrean”, which introduced for the first time in the series, pilotable Railjacks. It was meant to introduce a whole new layer of combat to Warframe, yet despite the intentions, many of the current players have felt that gameplay wasn’t up to par with the rest of Warframe. Well, they aren’t alone, as Digital Extremes has taken notice of this, and plans on releasing a Warframe Railjack Revisited update that will make many changes to the Railjack system.

Taking part in an interview with Youtuber, Quite Shallow, Digital Extremes’ lead designer Scott McGregor took to talk about the current state of Warframe and touched upon some of the key changes being made for the Warframe Railjack Revisited update. One of those big changes they’re testing is limiting the number of breaches, fire, and the other hazards down to just one so players aren’t in a constant state of preparing the Railjack. Other changes also include general balancing to the economy and enemies, Railjack movements, all in effort to make it feel more “arcade” like.

“I want to make sure that the core combat loop for Railjack is solid enough. Is it fun to kill fighters? Is it fun to engage against a crew ship? Exterminate is what we call our simplest mission. If we can make Exterminate fun and engaging, then when we make other more interesting, more complicated game modes then those should be fun as well.”

Great news indeed. You can watch the full interview below, which we highly recommend for all you Warframe players as it gives us a great look at the inside development happening at Digital Extremes.

Stay tuned for more Warframe news as we move closer to Tennocon 2020!

The Division 2 M1A Changes Not Included in TU9 Notes, Here’s What’s Happening to It

Just yesterday, Ubisoft Massive released The Division 2 Title Update 9, and along with it, the huge patch notes that covered everything from Exotic item changes, to bug fixes. Unfortunately though, it seems one thing it didn’t cover are The Division 2 M1A changes.

In the latest State of the Game devstream, Ubisoft explained why The Division 2 M1A changes weren’t included, as well as the next steps planned for the weapon.

TU9 Patch Notes not Complete

The first topic was a short explanation of why the M1A nerf was not in the patch notes and how they plan to avoid that in the future:

  • The Community Team is responsible for the Patch Notes
  • It was also their mistake that the M1A nerf was not included in the Patch Notes
  • This was not done on purpose because it does not make sense to try to hide a nerf of such a popular weapon and they also did not believe that they would “get away” with nerfing the M1A.
  • To avoid such mistakes in the future, they will improve their internal processes.

M1A Situation and Nerf

They saw the general reaction to the M1A nerf itself, the amount of the nerf and this is how this came about:

  • In 2019 the M1A was buffed for Title Update 6/7 because the meta at the time was Berserk, Clutch and Eagle Bearer builds
  • While the M1A was already overtuned at the time, it was overshadowed by the Eagle Bearer.
  • When Warlords of New York was released, that balance remained and the M1A became the new meta because the Eagle Bearer was changed.
  • Then a pandemic happened, they are working from home and try to do their best to maintain a live game while also producing new content that will come in the future (including the next raid)
  • They were, of course, aware that the M1A was an issue and they made a change that was meant to be a first balance pass for that weapon.
  • Because of the pandemic circumstances the validation process of that first balance pass fell through the cracks.
  • This was not the result of bad intentions, it was the result of bad processes and – like with the patch notes – this is something they intend to address.

  • The Bottom line is, the 40% nerf in Title Update 9 was not meant to be final, but the shift to working from home disrupted the developers’ ability to more thoroughly rebalance it.
  • The intention was to revisit the M1a post TU9 while also looking at all of the weapons and all of the talents and Gear Sets to make a better overall balance pass.
  • But as players saw on Tuesday, the M1A got a 40% nerf and that was not intended.

Next immediate Steps

  • As a first step they will revert the nerf of the M1A and the Bakers Dozen in PVE. After that, the damage of these weapons will be the same as before the patch in PVE content.
  • In PVP the M1A will get a 20% nerf because that was well-received of the PVP community.
  • The goal is to implement the reversion as soon as possible, it might be this week or the next – the exact details will follow.
  • The change may cause a UI issue for Stadia users, showing the Title Update 9 values until a client update can be deployed.

Future Balance passes

  • In the long term, they will address the M1A to bring that weapon more in line with the other guns.
  • The change will be a nerf because it is more practical to nerf 1 overtuned weapon than to buff all the others.
  • Other guns, Exotics, Gear Sets and Named Items that are underperforming will be buffed
  • The NPCs are also part of that equation. Since TU8 armor, health and damage were adjusted and TU8.5 and TU9 deployed additional tweaks to address the difficulty.
  • Now they will be looking more into specific NPC behavior and outliers
  • But the general discussion is still the overall experience – casual vs challenging/difficult. The goal is to find a middle ground where gear progression is there but there should also be challenges for players that like difficult content and challenge themselves.
  • The Raid will also be a big part in that difficulty discussion and the balance changes also impact the Raid.
  • But these changes take time and it should be ready in June.
  • Loot Overhaul (especially purple drops) will also be part of the June update

Send-Off Clarification

  • Holstered talents were removed from all weapons, and this was initially missed for the Send-Off shotgun.
  • It was never intended to keep a holstered talent for a weapon like the Send-Off, which needed to first be crafted before players could find out it had a holstered talent.

Studio also talked about what they plan on skill builds moving forward, and that the Raid 2 is still set for spring.

Skill Build Intentions

  • Skill Builds are a bit underrepresented right now
  • They don’t have as many Gear Sets, Talents or Weapon Talent options
  • The next Title Update will add Gear Sets that are specifically designed for Skill Builds and Hybrid Skill Builds where you can be a little bit of Weapon and Skill.
  • That means burst DPS and AOE DPS Skill Builds will be addressed

The Raid 2

  • The release date of Raid 2 – The Foundry – is still in spring
  • It will be free for everyone that owns The Division 2

As for Title Update 9, this patch introduced a few new bugs as well. Below is the priority list of stuff the studio is looking to fix from yesterday’s patch.

Title Update 9 – Priority List

We wanted to give you an update on the top priorities we are currently working on regarding bugs that have been introduced with Title Update 9.

  • Kenly College Technology Laboratory being blocked.
  • Coney Island, several progression blockers.
  • Firefly Skill not launching or sticking to the agent’s hand.
  • Turret Skills not placing properly and immediately going on cooldown.
  • SHD-Levels not showing in group UI.
  • Shield Skills and Assault Rifles not working together properly.
  • Not being able to start or finish the Angel of Mercy Contaminated area.
  • Being unable to link items in the chat.
  • Being unable to deactivate/hide the Recommended Activity UI element.

No word yet on when the next patch will drop, but it’ll likely be sometime in May.

Infinity Ward Introduces Call of Duty Warzone Cheaters Lobbies, Additional Anti-Cheat Measures

Enjoying Call of Duty: Warzone? Annoyed at how many cheaters there are — at least on the PC version? With the free-to-play (F2P) battle royale game enabling crossplay (and recommending it, even), some might have come across Warzone cheaters in their quest to become the top team (or player) in a Warzone match.

While Infinity Ward has already banned a ton of players due to cheating, the studio has revealed a few more Call of Duty Warzone anti-cheat steps to help players feel at ease, and to ensure cheaters get banned. According to the studio, players who are suspected of cheating will be matched with other cheaters too! Not only that, but other anti-cheat measures are being implemented as well.

Starting This Week:

Players in Warzone and Modern Warfare who report suspected cheaters will receive confirmation in-game when a player is banned.

Additional Measures:

  • Deployed additional dedicated security updates
  • Updated matchmaking to match suspected cheaters together
  • Increased resources across backend tech, studio, and enforcement teams

Coming Soon:

  • Report-a-player functionality to killcam and spectate modes

Given how many players login to Call of Duty:Warzone everyday, it’s nice to see Infinity Ward tackle this with fervor. While there will always be cheaters in online games, studios can adapt and ban these people to make the experience better for everyone.

What do you think Infinity Ward can do to combat cheaters more effectively? Let us know down below in the comments.

Apex Legends Update 1.35 Pushed Out, Here Are the Fixes

Respawn Entertainment has pushed out a new Apex Legends update earlier today which will show up as Apex Legends update 1.35 and it should already be live now. As one might surmise from an unannounced patch, this one is for fixes and holds no new content. Of note, this seems to be a PS4-only patch as well. Check out the full list of changes in Apex Legends update 1.35 below.

Apex Legends update 1.35 patch notes and changes:

Per Respawn Entertainment:

Heads up, Legends: This afternoon, we pushed through a patch for PS4 that addressed the following:

  • Playlist selector defaulting to Trios after coming back from a Ranked game or after switching Legends
  • DPad/cursor menu controls not working after picking up loot
  • Crash fixes

Yes, that’s basically it. Unfortunately, for those suffering through connection issues, no official word regarding that has been announced so far, so don’t expect any change at all from this patch.

If you spot any gameplay-related changes that wasn’t announced, please let us know down in the comments below or send us an email.

Don’t forget, The Old Ways event is still on-going which offers new rewards and more.

Report: Call of Duty 2020 Tagged as Call of Duty Vietnam, Possibly Not a Reboot

While we’ve heard multiple rumors that Call of Duty 2020 will be developed by Treyarch, we’ve also heard rumors mention that it’ll be a reboot of sorts for the studio’s Black Ops franchise. Well, a new report has surfaced today, and it’s from a reliable source.

Former Kotaku reporter and reliable industry leaker Jason Schreier answered people on Twitter today, and mentioned that from what he’s heard “thrown around a couple of times,” this year’s Call of Duty is known as Call of Duty Vietnam.

Schreier also mentions that he doesn’t think that it’s a reboot at all.

Mind, Schreier admits that he’s not familiar with Black Ops’ lore and story and whatnot, and if you’ve played the first Black Ops, you’ll know that it does feature Vietnam, so it could very well be a soft reboot of sorts like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 was to the original Modern Warfare.

When asked whether this year’s Call of Duty is on track for release again this year, he mentions that for now, it is, but we don’t know what’s happening in the coming months (and yes, this is all due to the global COVID-19 pandemic playing a part in it).

Remember, nothing mentioned here has been confirmed by Activision or Treyarch. Heck, we’re not 100 percent sure Treyarch is the one developing this year’s Call of Duty title, even. though it does seem like they are.

What do you think? Would you want a Call of Duty: Vietnam game or a Black Ops reboot? If we do get a Black Ops reboot of some sort, it seems one person we can count on not being there is Sgt. Frank Woods actor James C. Burns who confirmed he’s not involved with the franchise in any way.

Thanks, CharlieIntel

Modern Warfare Playlist Update April 21 Brings Back Cabin Fever and More

Tired of the 10v10 Stir Crazy playlist in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer? If so, and you’re one of the many that miss Shoot House, you’re in luck! Infinity Ward has rolled out the Modern Warfare playlist update April 21 server-side update and it re-introduces those and more!

Modern Warfare playlist update April 21 changes:

Added Cranked (replaces Drop Zone)
– Cabin Fever 24/7 (Shipment, Rust, Shoot House, Hackney Yard, and Hideout)
– Removing Stir Crazy playlist
– Removing Realism Ground War
– Removing Aniyah Palace from Ground War

I have to admit, Cabin Fever is one of my preferred playlists when playing Modern Warfare multiplayer.

While we don’t expect any gameplay changes in this server-side update (which means no download is required), we’ll report on any if we spot something since Infinity Ward has been known to include a new nips and tucks with their playlist updates from time to time.

Which playlists should Infinity Ward keep throughout Season 3? Let us know down below in the comments.

  • Fixed an issue in the Seraph Towers public event where Ana’s dialog would still call out towers being overwhelmed when the towers are down and Champions are present in the final phase.
  • Fixed an issue with the Heavy Frame spawning away from its platform in The Quarry and Scavenger’s Den Legendary Lost Sectors on EDZ.
  • Fixed an issue affecting the difficulty scaling of several activities including Whisper of the Worm and Zero Hour missions.

SMITE Update 11.38 Released for Witch of the Woods Update

Hi-Rez Studios has released yet another big update for SMITE! This one is for the Witch of the Woods update that includes Baba Yaga, a host of gameplay changes and more! Check out the full SMITE 11.38 patch notes below.

SMITE update 11.38 patch notes :

PASSIVE – CREEPING CABIN
  • Baba Yaga’s Cabin accumulates up to 100 essence over time, when it moves, and if enemy gods get too close. Baba Yaga can approach the Cabin and use this essence to gain evolving item stacks. Items with a low stack count take more energy. If Baba Yaga has no stacking item this essence heals Baba Yaga for 0.8% max health per tick.
    • Item Stack Cost: 400 / Item Max Stacks
    • Heal Cost: 4

WILD WITCHCRAFT
  • Baba Yaga throws forward magic imbued with chaotic qualities. The magic will travel in the path of a random shape (Left Corner, Right Corner, Split, or Oval) and leave behind a random magical field on the ground it flew over for 4s. The fields can boost friendly Protections, boost friendly Movement Speed, lower enemy Movement Speed, or Silence enemies.
    • Damage : 75/125/175/225/275 (+75% of your Magical Power)
    • Protections: 15/20/25/30/35 for 1s
    • Movement Speed: 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% for 1s
    • Slow: 20/22.5/25/27.5/30% for 1s
    • Cost: 70/75/80/85/90
    • Cooldown: 12s

BABA’S BREW
  • Baba Yaga throws together random ingredients to brew a Potion. Each Eye of Newt increases the Potion’s Damage by 7.5%. Each Dragon Scale adds a 12.5% slow to enemies hit for 2.5s. Each Wolf Tooth adds a 7.5% Attack Speed slow and Power reduction to enemies hit for 5s. Baba Yaga can store a single Potion in her consumable slot refiring/canceling this ability. She can pull it out at any time to throw it.
    • Damage: 55/95/135/175/215 (+60% of your Magical Power)
    • Ingredient Count: 3/3/4/4/5
    • Cost: 60/65/70/75/80
    • Cooldown: 16/16/15/15/14s

BLAST OFF!
  • Baba Yaga crawls inside her Mortar for protection. While inside the mortar she gains Damage Reduction, Knockup Protection, and begins to build up explosive magic. After 1s the magic explodes, launching Baba Yaga and her Mortar in the direction she is facing. Enemies near the Mortar when it explodes take damage.
    • Damage: 80/125/170/215/260 (+85% of your Magical Power)
    • Damage Reduction: 25/27.5/30/32.5/35%
    • Cost: 60/65/70/75/80
    • Cooldown: 16s

HOME SWEET HOME
  • Baba Yaga calls down her Cabin, causing it to crash onto her and launch nearby enemies away. Baba Yaga commands the cabin for up to 8s, using it as a protective shield to create and throw 4 Witchfire Bolts from the inside. When the thrown Witchfire lands, it explodes dealing damage to enemies in the area while leaving behind a creeping patch of fire that chases nearby enemies. Enemies caught in the creeping fire take burn damage every 0.4s.
    • Landing Damage: 100/145/190/235/280 (+50% of your Magical Power)
    • Burst Damage: 60/85/110/135/160 (+30% of your Magical Power)
    • Burn Damage: 12/17/22/27/32 (+7.5% of your Magical Power)
    • Shield Health: 100/180/260/340/420
    • Cost: 60/70/80/90/100
    • Cooldown: 90s

Here’s an infograph detailing every new change included in this new patch (via Reddit user BluesUltra):

BALANCE LIVE WITH THE WITCH OF THE WOODS UPDATE APRIL 21
All Modes
  • Jungle Camp Timers will now appear on the mini-map for all camps at the start of each match.
Conquest
Pro play has not officially started, but from our communications with pros and early reviewing of scrims, we have clear evidence that the invade meta has persisted into Season 7. Our goal as a design team was to discourage invades, but not make them impossible. Invading can be a high risk strategy that can be exciting to play or watch, and the Season 7 changes did a good job of slowing this strategy down in normal and ranked games.
However, we do understand that there was a significant amount of frustration toward this meta and we want to take bigger steps toward shifting the meta elsewhere. In this update we will be introducing a new mechanic to the Conquest map: Invader’s Curse. If an enemy god enters the area around their opponent’s back harpy / speed buff area they will be significantly debuffed. This will be active for the first minute of the match.
Invades might still occur on other parts of the map. We have gotten word of 2v2s for purple or blue at the start of the match. These invades are unaffected for now because they often result in kills or camp secures that move the game forward. We wanted to specifically discourage the type of invade where one players essentially sacrifices their progress to slow the progress of another, which we feel is inherently unhealthy to the pro meta.

  • The Jungle Shrine now emits a protective aura around each team’s respective Speed and back Harpy camps.
    • Invader’s Curse
      • Only lasts for the first 1 minute of the match
      • Debuff continuously refreshes on enemies in the area
      • 30% Reduced Healing (standard SMITE healing reduction applies to all ability and item healing, including potions, relics)
      • 30% Reduced Movement Speed
      • 30% Reduced Attack Speed
    • The Skybox art has been updated. Yggdrasil is barely clinging to life. Surely this is a sign of something grim.
Joust
Lots of data and feedback has come through since the new map launched in 7.1. This map introduced more strategy to the map as well as a new art set. With the addition of more jungle lots of concerns about pacing and snowballing have been brought up, and those are the primary issues we plan to address with this update’s changes. There is also a good set of QoL adjustments.
Minions were not scaling in the intended way, and will now scale in XP reward similar to how they do in Conquest. These fixes will prevent player levels from stagnating out in the late game. It will also make it easier for the losing team to stay in the game as long as they can clear their minion waves. You’ll also get that minion XP from further away.
Red buff is being made tankier and receiving a more clear pre-game timer to ensure the fight over it is an interesting one. At the same time the other jungle buff camps are getting squishier to speed up rotation times.
Finally, lots of adjustments are being made to structures and objectives. These were too squishy leading to quick clean sweeps of the map. It will now be harder to kill the Phoenix, Titan, and Demon King. There are some specific changes unique to Joust or Duel for these.

  • Environment
    • Adjustments made to lighting and shadows
    • Decreased volume of various crystal hums around the map
    • Slightly increased the width of the lane, up to 10ft in certain areas
  • Bug fixes
    • Fixed an issue where lane minions were scaling every 3 minutes instead of every 1 minute
  • Lane Minions
    • Increased minion kill reward distance from 80ft to 120ft
    • Added XP Reward scaling: +2.5 XP every minute
    • Increased Max HP scaling of Archer minions from +5 to +10 every minute
  • Buff Camps
    • Increased Max HP scaling on all minions
    • Increased base HP of small camp minions
    • Damage Buff  Holder (Red)
      • Increased base HP
      • Increased base Magical Protection
    • Mana Buff  Holder (Blue)
      • Decreased base HP
      • Decreased base Physical Power
    • Speed Buff Holder (Yellow)
      • Decreased base HP
      • Decreased base Physical Protection
  • Phoenix
    • Increased base HP from 1750 to 2000
  • Titan
    • Increased Magical Protection from 45 to 60
    • Joust 3v3 – Increased base HP from 6000 to 8000
    • Duel 1v1 – Increased base HP from 6000 to 7000
  • Demon King
    • Increased Max HP scaling from +310 per minute to +340 per minute
    • Joust 3v3 – Increased Max Health from 1750 to 2250
    • Joust 3v3 – Increased Physical Protection from 25 to 45
    • Joust 3v3 – Increased Magical Protection from 25 to 30
Items

HAND OF THE GODS
Along with the invade changes, we are buffing HoG slightly to ensure a smooth experience. This buff should allow junglers (with Assassin’s Blessing bonus) to clear the mini’s in buff camps or harpy camps through the early game with HoG alone, speeding up their initial clear times.
  • Increase Damage from 150 to 170

HEARTSEEKER
Although many changes this update are protecting Junglers, we have received persistent feedback that Heartseeker feels overtuned. This item allows for a huge power spike in the mid to late game for Assassin’s, and we have seen data to confirm they could be brought down slightly. Similar tech that Soul Reaver uses is being applied to Heartseeker to reduce the bonus damage when fired on a single target in rapid succession.
  • Subsequent hits from the passive on the same target do 75% the bonus damage for the next 3s

MANTLE OF DISCORD
Mantle of Discord has been your one stop shop for the best all around defenses, and that may still be the case after this change, but we plan to introduce more counterplay to the item. The stun will now fire on a delay after the CC immunity with an additional visual FX cue in between. This should allow opponents of the Mantle to avoid, cleanse, or play around the incoming stun in more ways.
  • Now has 0.4s cast time before the stun hits
  • CC immunity still happens instantly on trigger

RING OF HECATE
Mage ADCs are on the way up after a few targeted buffs and item buffs, but still not quite rivaling their physical counterparts. Ring of Hecate is a new item that has not yet found its way into their builds, and is feeling a little lackluster all around. We are decreasing the cost and making a big change to the passive to help this item fulfill the role it was meant to.
  • Decreased Cost from 2600 to 2500
  • Passive now gains stacks from any target
Gods
ARES
Ares received a pretty intense buff a few months back but was quickly forgotten about in the Conquest meta. Ares is a uniquely aggressive guardian so he can struggle to play the support role. To give Ares a little more control in difficult team fights we are decreasing the self slow he applies to himself while ulting. This will allow him to better avoid incoming attacks and will also give him more control of where he pulls enemies to if they fail to avoid the pull.

NO ESCAPE
  • Decreased self slow from 50% to 30%
DISCORDIA
The Goddess of Discord has caused quite a debate in the SMITE community, which is exactly where she wants us. Many players are convinced that Discordia is not as strong as she needs to be to compete in the current meta. Generally people perceive her Ultimate to be the weakest part of her kit, as the warmup and travel time are both quite slow and easily avoidable. We are making the apple travel much faster to help it hit its target.

GOLDEN APPLE OF DISCORD
  • Increased Projectile Speed from 80 to 120
HORUS
Horus has fallen off pretty hard in most levels of play. This god has the potential to be a top support, yet is still struggling in the metrics. We are decreasing the cooldown of his primary engage and lockdown ability, which should make a big impact. Additionally, we are speeding up his movement speed while flying in his ultimate. This number here looks insane but diminishing returns apply harshly during the effect. The speed increase should be noticeable but not overly shocking.

FRACTURE
  • Decreased Cooldown from 16s to 16/15.5/15/14.5/14s

TO THE SKIES
  • Increased from 35% to 135% Horus now moves faster in the air while selecting a target
KUZENBO
The King Kappa has a gun now, but with his treasured Hide of the Nemean Lion being nerfed the big guy has struggled. We are looking to make him a more reliable support, by making his defense passive stack for much longer and for giving him more control over where he takes enemies hit by Sumo Slam. In addition to those defensive changes, we are removing the cap on NeNe kappas spawned. Kuzenbo’s kappa army will finally be realized!

WATER BOWL
  • Increased Duration from 10s to 30s

NENE KAPPA
  • Kuzenbo can now spawn multiple NeNes

SUMO SLAM
  • Adjusted turn radius to allow for more control over turns
MULAN
New gods are always an interesting balance project. Of course, there is always a lot of feedback about them being OP, even when stats clearly suggest otherwise. Mulan has been relatively balanced, and near the middle of the pack. Feedback about her being OP has been a bit more quiet than usual, and her stats are low but not alarmingly low. We have heard clear feedback that her Ultimate feels underwhelming, so we are adding a new component to it to reward Mulan’s who have built defenses already.

SPEAR THRUST
  • Increased speed of the rollout hit area of this ability

DIVINE MASTERY
  • While firing this ability, Mulan’s protections are increased by 30%
RA
The Egyptian Sun God hasn’t seen the light of buffs in quite a while! This god still hold a special place in many player’s hearts, but he has struggled in the metrics lately. We are bringing back an element of Ra that his kit actually had in closed beta SMITE, where his Solar Blessing will give his allies a Power buff while they are inside it. This encourages Ra to use this ability in combat, and gives him some interesting strategies around structures or jungle bosses

SOLAR BLESSING
  • This ability now provides 10/15/20/25/30 physical power and 20/25/30/35/40 Magical Power to allied gods who while standing in the area
SCYLLA
Our final balance change is more of a QoL or bug fix, but it will certainly have a balance impact. First we fixed a small bug around Scylla’s max rank protection debuff on Crush, but that’s not the big news. Scylla will now be able to refire crush even while CC’d or dead, this is a long-time request and since we have applied it to some other gods we feel that it’s only fair Scylla gets it too. We will also continue to look at this concept for any other gods who might need it.

CRUSH
  • Fixed an issue where Crush would not apply protection reduction to slow immune targets
    • Only impacts last rank
  • Scylla can now refire this ability even while under the effects of crowd control, or while dead.

Don’t forget, there’s a bonus update out on May 5 which is part of this update. Once that’s out, we’ll let our readers know.

The Division 2 Update 1.22 Brings Title Update 9 Changes

As mentioned last week, the big April update for The Divsion 2 is here! Players will see this as The Division 2 update 1.22 or what Ubisoft Massive calls Title Update 9. There are changes to how Exotics behave, AI NPC changes, and loads more! Check out The Division 2 update 1.22 patch notes below.

Note that this is a big download clocking in at roughly 10GB on each platform. There’s also server maintenance happening at 03:30 AM EDT, which will end after three hours (6:30 a.m. EDT).

The Division 2 update 1.22 patch notes – Title Update 9:

New features

EXOTIC RECONFIGURATION

Image

You will now be able to upgrade Exotic items to level 40, as well as re-roll their attributes with the new Reconfiguration system available in the Crafting bench. Find out more in our dedicated article here.

Game Balance

EXOTICS, TALENT, NAMED ITEMS

Exotics

  • Sawyer’s Kneepads – Reworked
    Image

    • Cannot be staggered by explosions.
    • Increase total weapon damage by 3% each second you are not moving. Stacks up to 10x and stacks are lost when moving
    • This exotic only provides defensive attributes and no brand bonus, so now has potential for high damage and makes it appealing to both red and blue builds.

Developer comment: The old version didn’t provide enough engaging gameplay; this change should help with that.

  • Imperial Dynasty – Buff
    • Reduced cooldown to 35s (down from 40)

Developer comment: This buff is to better compensate for the lack of brand bonus.

  • Dodge City Gunslinger
    • Reduced charge up time 30s (from 50s)

Developer comment: This buff is to better compensate for the lack of brand bonus.

  • Diamondback – Reworked
    Image

    • Now Grants all shots guaranteed crits for 5s after hitting a mark

Developer comment: The Diamondback is underperforming, and this change should make the bonus a bit more exciting.

  • Merciless/Ruthless – Buff
    • Explosion damage increased to 1200% (up from 900%)

Developer comment: Explosion Damage doesn’t scale with crit stats, so boosted to compensate.

  • Lady Death
    • No longer enhances Turret Skills.
  • Bullet King
    • Base damage is now the same as the non-exotic LMG version.
  • Exotic attribute roll quality
    • All exotics will now roll at the highest possible minimum roll regardless of the difficulty they are obtained in.
      • Exotic items can still roll higher than the minimum but minimum rolls are now higher.

TALENTS

  • Tag Team – Reworked
    • The last enemy you have damaged with a skill is marked.
    • Dealing weapon damage to that enemy consumes the mark to reduce active cooldowns by 6s.
    • Cooldown: 4s
    • Does not consume mark if no skill is on cooldown.
  • Reassigned – Buff
    • Killing an enemy adds 1 round of a random special ammo into your sidearm.
    • Reduced cooldown to 15s (down from 20s).
  • Tamper Proof – Reworked
    • Enemies that walk within 3m of your hive, turret, or remote pulse are shocked.
    • Arm time: 2s.
    • Increased cooldown per skill to 10s (up from 5s).
  • Empathic Resolve – Buff
    • Repairing an ally, increases their total weapon and skill damage by 3-15% for 20s (up from 10s). 1-7% if self.

Developer comment: Currently it is difficult to keep a high uptime in 4-man content as non-tank players try to be as safe as possible and NPCs have higher lethality, so chip damage is less frequent.

Creeping Death

  • When you apply a status effect, it is also applied to all enemies within 8m (up from 5m) of your target.
  • Reduced cooldown to 15s (down from 20s).
  • Overcharge talents now properly state they don’t work in PVP.

Named Items

  • Contractor’s Gloves
    • Damage to Armor lowered to 8%.
  • Firm Handshake
    • Status Effects increased to 15%.
  • Ammo Dump
    • Now correctly rolls 2 additional attributes.
  • Claws Out
    • Now correctly has a skill tier core attribute roll.
    • Now correctly rolls an attribute in addition to pistol damage and melee damage.
    • Melee damage increased to 400%.
  • Fox’s Prayer
    • Damage to out of cover lowered to 8%.
  • The Hollow Man
    • Damage to Health lowered to 10%.
  • Punch Drunk
    • Headshot Damage increased to 20%.
  • Send-Off
    • Removed Perfectly Rooted Talent.

WEAPONS

  • Assault Rifles:
    • Increased maximum roll of Damage to Health to 21%.
      • Players on Stadia will not see this be displayed correctly and instead see an increase to Damage to Health on other weapon types. This is an UI issue only and will be fixed with the next client update.

GEAR SETS

  • True Patriot
    • White buff armor repair lowered to 2%/3% once every second.

MAIN MISSIONS

  • Pentagon & Darpa Research Lab
    • Lowered difficulty to be more on par with other missions.
  • Liberty Island
    • Lowered difficulty to be more on par with other missions.

Check out the stuff mined from the new data introduced via patch v12.41! Note that we’ll be updating this post with whatever stuff that’s found, and same as before, not everything datamined means it’ll be available today, this week or at all.

  • Wall Street
    • Reduced health and damage of the APC.
  • Stranded Tanker
    • NPC composition has been adjusted.

AI & NPCs

  • Signature Weapons Against Named NPCs
    • Slightly increased damage signature weapons deal to named enemies
  • Elite NPCs Damage Against Player Skills
    • Reduced damage elite NPCs deal to player skills.
  • Tank Sprint Speed
    • Reduced sprint speed of Tank archetype from all hostile factions
  • NPC Shotguns
    • Reduced damage of all NPC shotguns
    • Adjusted range of some NPC shotguns (including shotguns used by Black Tusk Rusher)
  • Status Effects
    • Reduced duration of Poison and Cleaners’ Napalm Ensnare (when applied to players)
  • Special Ammo Signaling
    • Any NPC with special ammo has the same UI indication as from the Special Ammo Directive.
    • Examples of who this affects:
      • Outcasts who pick up special ammo from boxes deployed by their Support archetype.
      • Bounties who spawn with special ammo.
  • Rogue Agents
    • Significantly reduced the armor of dynamically spawning Rogue Agents.
      • To prevent this from being too large of a nerf in 3-4-player co-op a Rogue Agent can spawn with an armor kit which can repair their armor up to 70%.
    • Slightly reduced the damage output of dynamically spawning Rogue Agents.
  • NPC Buff Allies Ability Changed
    • Previously, certain bosses and bounties would magically overheal themselves and their fireteam. This “buff allies” ability lacked clear messaging, so it has been replaced with a “leader overheal” ability. This is the same ability that the Rikers’ Leader archetype has. Battlefield 5 South Africa Servers Temporarily Reactivated

Remember last month when we reported that DICE has killed off the Battlefield 5 South Africa servers (and Middle East ones too)? Well, it seems there’s some good news for those playing the game in South Africa — at least for the time being.

Over on the Battlefield 5 forums, DICE Community Manager PartWelsh announced that the studio has “temporarily” reactivated the Battlefield 5 South Africa servers! Note that this is only temporary as mentioned, and no definite date when they’ll be pulled down again. Check out the complete announcement below.

Hey folks,
‏‏‎ ‎
As of 1300 UTC today, we have temporarily reactivated South African Servers in Battlefield V. Since we initiated the change, the global situation has changed for the worse and more of us find ourselves at home, needing ways to occupy our time. In the spirit of Stay and Play, we’re doing what we can to re-establish those local servers and will work with our partners in South Africa to sustain them for as long as we can through this Global Pandemic.
  ‎
We will go on to deactivate them again in the future. When we reach this point, we’ll look to serve you advance notice so that you understand when to expect this change.
‏‏‎ ‎
Please note that all servers across Battlefield V are spun up on demand, so you may not be able to observe them from the server browser until enough players have elected to queue for Matchmaking, and we’ve detected that there are enough players to kick off a fresh round.
‏‏‎ ‎
On behalf of EA DICE, our apologies that you weren’t served advanced notice of the change last month. We will ensure that when we come to disable them further down the line that you receive a better standard of communication on this.
‏‏‎ ‎
I’ll provide further updates on this topic here on the Battlefield Forums, via Answers HQ , and in partnership with Community Leaders in the region should we need to announce further changes.
‏‏‎ ‎
Many thanks,
‏‏‎ ‎

Well, that’s the silver lining for Battlefield 5 players during these tough times, no? No mention if this applies to Middle East servers, so I wouldn’t hold my breath for that. Let’s hope this becomes viable enough for DICE to not pull deactivated ’em in the future.

If you’re looking for the April update, DICE has mentioned already that it’s being rolled into the May one set for next month.
