This Is How Battlefield V Weapons Available at Launch Stack Up Against Other Battlefield Titles

Just yesterday, DICE announced the list of available weapons in Battlefield V, and the number is currently sitting at 30 primary weapons available at launch. If you’re not OK with this number and think the past entries in the franchise had a lot more available, you’ll be surprised to know that you’re just half right.

Over on Reddit, user MartianGeneral whipped up an image comparing each Battlefield title to how many guns it had available, and even how many vehicles. Take a look below, but there’s a few things that need to be amended in the image as well.

As some Reddit users have pointed out, there’s a few errors in the graphic; for one, Battlefield 1 had more than five secondary weapons. It had the following:

BF1 also had 24 primary weapons (six per class), unless the graphic-maker is counting Calvary, Pilot and Tanker.

All in all, Battlefield V isn’t that bad, right? Of course the fact that weapons are restricted for those that came out during WW2, and well, you have tighter room to work with.

Are you happy with how many weapons can be used in Battlefield V? Don’t forget that DICE said that some guns will be released via progression or Tides of War.

New Dirt Rally 2 Gameplay and Track Info Revealed

Dirt Rally 2 has quietly been getting some more information after it was announced that the game would be launching on the 25th of February in 2019. This new info includes a rough amount of how many cars will be in the game, and which locations players will be able to rally across.

Via its Steam Page, Codemasters says the six locations players will be able to rally across will be Spain, Poland, Argentina, New Zealand, and the USA with more tracks to become available post-launch. Players will also be able to drive over 50 cars at those locations including the VW Polo GTI R5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, and the Citroen C3 R5.

As we previously mentioned in our article covering the announcement, Dirt Rally 2 will feature eight rallycross circuits of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Players can duke it out with their friends in multiplayer at locations like Barcelona, Montalegre, Mettet, Lohéac Bretagne, Trois-Rivieres, Hell, Holjes and Silverstone.

If you’re looking for gameplay of the new installment, you’ll find that it’s sparse. But the gameplay that does exist? It’s pretty good. Take a look.

But that’s not all. GameByte even have has an interview with Codemasters on the new game, including great insights on the design philosophy that goes into making a simulation-style game rather than an arcade one.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 2018 Roadmap Gets Updated

While DICE has already laid out the Star Wars Battlefront 2 2018 roadmap back in August, the studio has updated it, and added more events! This time, DICE has revealed what Battlefront II fans can expect up to February 2019!

Check out the image for the condense version, and then read up on the official details.

October – Hero Appearances, N1 Starfighter, and Hero Health Star Cards

For October, we’re revealing that General Grievous*** will don the Jedi Hunter Appearance by default. At Grievous’ release, the additional Battle-Damaged Appearance* will be unlockable with Credits or Crystals.

The fan-favorite N1 Starfighter, a sleek example of Nabooian design and engineering philosophy, will now take to the skies as a fighter class ship in the Hero Starfighters game mode.

Also coming this month are changes to Hero Health Star Cards, giving every hero the ability to equip one of these. Read the Community Transmission solely dedicated to this topic, to learn all about how it affects heroes’ abilities.

November – More Hero Appearances and a Small Update on Geonosis

In November, Obi-Wan Kenobi*** is entering the battlefront, and he’s wearing his Jedi Master Appearance from the get-go. At the same time, Obi-Wan’s Robed Appearance** and another to-be-announced Appearance** for General Grievous are approaching.

Here’s a neat little tidbit about November’s release of Geonosis: this new location will feature the native Geonosians as part of its living world (non-interactive environment). The Geonosians played an important role in the Clone Wars colluding with the Separatists, led by Count Dooku, to develop plans for the first Death Star.

December – No Game Updates

December will see no new game updates, as we’re preparing the Clone Wars content releasing in early 2019 – including a new large-scale, non-linear game mode.

January – Count Dooku, the Coruscant Guard, and Even More Hero Appearances

Then, to kick off the new year, January will see the release of Count Dooku*** plus an additional Appearance** for the Separatist leader. Obi-Wan is expanding his wardrobe even further with the General Kenobi Appearance**, and the Coruscant Guard clone trooper Appearances** are joining the forces of the Galactic Republic.

February – Anakin Skywalker and New Large-Scale, Non-Linear Mode

Anakin Skywalker***, an additional Appearance** for the same, and the 501st Legion clone trooper Appearances** arrive to the game in February. You’ll be able to play with them in our new, large-scale, non-linear game mode featuring capture points and capital ship takedowns.

Please note that more content and features are still to be confirmed. Things might also be moved around, added, or changed. Efforts such as improvements on matchmaking, daily challenges, map rotation, bug fixing, and balancing are ongoing, too. We’ll be back at a later date with an updated view of the Roadmap.

Don’t forget to read up on this month’s upcoming list of events and more right here.

DICE: “Some” Battlefield V Weapons Seen in Trailers & Screenshots to Be Rolled Out via Progression & Tides of War

While DICE has revealed the official Battlefield V weapons list yesterday when it blew the door wide open in terms of weapons, gadgets, vehicles and more, eagle-eyed fans spotted a few weapons that were shown in trailers and screenshots that weren’t present in the official list.

As it turns out, DICE knows about this and has confirmed that these weapons will be rolled out via progression, and with Battlefield V’s GaaS (games-as-a-service) evolving free content called Tides of War. This was revealed by DICE Global Community Manager Dan Mitre over on Reddit when he was repeatedly pressed by gamers on the “missing” weapons.

Some of the weapons seen in trailers and screenshots that weren’t on the list are being rolled out through Progression and/or Tides of War. – Dan Mitre, DICE Global Community Manager

Based on Mitre’s answer, it’s safe to say that more free weapons will be added at some point in Battlefield V’s lifespan. Either these weapons aren’t tweaked properly or in the game’s code just yet, or this is DICE’s way of making sure there’s always a drip feed of content that players are working towards.

Are you OK with some of the weapons being available post-launch? Or should DICE include them now if they’re ready? Let us know what you think in the comments.

In other Battlefield V news, check out a preliminary list of headgear/helmets that players can earn in-game. DICE has also mentioned that we might see new classes post-launch as well.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 October Roadmap Revealed, Hero Health Star Cards Detailed

For those playing Star Wars Battlefront II, we’re here to report on some good news! Developer DICE has hunkered down and laid down some of the new content and events coming your way this month!

There’s a lot of stuff incoming for Battlefront II fans this October, and we have every detail you need! First up is a Battle Point Event: Heroes Unleashed community event with Heroes in Galactic Assault set at 75 percent off their normal cost, and eight heroes per side available at any given time! Of course, this month being October, there’s a Halloween-themed event coming too! Called “Night Mode,” this event will feature night-only maps from Friday October 26-31! Check out the complete Star Wars Battlefront 2 October roadmap below!

DICE isn’t stopping there. Battlefront II’s Star Card is also getting changes too. According to DICE, the overall plan is to replace the selection of Hero Star Cards that aren’t used a lot to be replaced with Health Star Cards. These will be broken up into two types of cards:

A generic “Health on Defeat” Star Card

  • This type of card is for Boba Fett, Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Kylo Ren and Darth Maul. When a hero defeats an enemy, they will regain a small portion of health.

A “Defeat with Ability” card

  • This type of card is for Chewbacca, Yoda, Finn and Captain Phasma. When using one of these Star Cards, health will only be awarded if a specific ability was used to defeat the enemy.

DICE is also adding new Cards to Battlefront II that will make heroes “more fun and engaging to play.” Check out the complete breakdown of changes and additions below (via Reddit):

Health on Defeat Star Cards

These cards award health when a hero has one equipped and defeats an enemy.

Boba Fett

We’re excited to see what Boba Fett can do in the hands of a skilled player once these changes are live. We will be modifying his “For the Hunt” ability to reveal enemy players to both Boba Fett and his teammates by default, without the need for a Star Card. This change would make the Information Sharing Star Card redundant and a good candidate to be changed into a health card.

  • Old Card: Information Sharing
  • Old Description: For the Hunt will reveal enemies to your allies for a part of its duration.
  • New Card: Bounty Claimed
  • New Description: Whenever Boba Fett defeats an enemy trooper, he regains twenty health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Han Solo

We know from our in-game telemetry that Han Solo’s “Head Games” Star Card is very rarely used by players. We believe this is because it has a difficult trigger and not much benefit. We know from community feedback that this Star Card is a good candidate to be reworked into a health card.

  • Old Card: Head Games
  • Old Description: Scoring three headshot hits in a row without hitting any other body part will reset a part of all Han Solo’s abilities recharge time.
  • New Card: A Good Blaster
  • New Description: Whenever Han Solo defeats an enemy trooper, he regains 20 health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Lando Calrissian

We feel that “Overheat” is not as important for Heroes as it is for Troopers because all Hero weapons cooldown very quickly. As a result of this, the benefit of Lando’s “In the Zone” Star Card is negligible, making it a great candidate to become a health card.

  • Old Card: In the Zone
  • Old Description: Disabled overheat lasts longer when perfectly cooling the X-8 Night Sniper blaster.
  • New Card: Easy Wins
  • New Description: Whenever Lando Calrissian defeats an enemy trooper, he regains 20 health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Kylo Ren

We’ve identified Kylo Ren’s “Bloodletting Frenzy” Star Card to be the one that will be reworked into a health on defeat card. We know that health does decrease quickly, and this has an effect on Hero based game modes and Galactic Assault.

In hero-based game modes, players rarely survive long once they reach below 25%, while in Galactic Assault players would find themselves retreating.

  • Old Card: Bloodletting Frenzy
  • Old Description: While Kylo Ren’s health is below 25% he will deal bonus damage with his lightsaber.
  • New Card: Frenzied
  • New Description: Whenever Kylo Ren defeats an enemy trooper, he regains 20 health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Darth Maul

Darth Maul does not have stamina and because of this, the “Frantic Strikes” Star Card has very little use. We know this is a card that does get brought up quite often by the community, so we feel it’s the perfect candidate to be changed into a health on defeat card.

  • Old Card: Frantic Strikes
  • Old Description: Melee strikes will drain less stamina.
  • New Card: Wrathful
  • New Description: Whenever Darth Maul defeats an enemy trooper, he regains 20 health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Defeat with Ability Star Cards

These Star Cards reward health when an enemy is defeated by using a specific ability.

Chewbacca

Chewbacca’s melee attacks are already very powerful so, Chewbacca’s “Wookiee Berserker” card is rarely used because of this, even more so due to the fact he can slam the ground.

Chewbacca’s high health is why we decided to connect his health regeneration with defeating an enemy by using a specific ability.

  • Old Card: Wookiee Berserker
  • Old Description: Chewbacca’s melee attacks are stronger and deal more damage.
  • New Card: Ground Breaking
  • New Description: Whenever an enemy trooper is defeated by CHARGE SLAM, Chewbacca regenerates 20 health. If it was an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Yoda

“Master of the Force” is a Star Card that is very rarely used since Yoda loses the unleash power build up very quickly. This card also has a very high difficulty curve, making it one of the least used cards available to Yoda.

Since Yoda has a health boost ability, we have made the decision to connect his health regeneration with the ability “Unleash.”

  • Old Card: Master of the Force
  • Old Description: When the UNLEASH radius is at maximum distance, unleashing it will deal bonus damage.
  • New Card: Release the Force
  • New Description: Whenever Yoda defeats an enemy trooper using UNLEASH, he regains 20 health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Finn

When looking at the Star Cards for Finn, we identified the “All Together” card as one that is considered weaker than his others, and is rarely used by the community. Finn’s health boost ability is the reason why he receives a Defeat with Ability Star Card.

  • Old Card: All Together
  • Old Description: The radius of UNDERCOVER TEAM is increased if two friendlies are affected.
  • New Card: Covert Leader
  • New Description: Whenever Finn defeats an enemy trooper while UNDERCOVER TEAM is active, he regains 20 health. Whenever he defeats an enemy hero, he regains even more.

Captain Phasma

We have identified Captain Phasma’s Star Card, “Only Pawns,” as the optimal candidate to be replaced. We have found that recharge rates are often difficult to convey towards players and, it makes for the perfect choice.

The new Star Card will continue with the “Staff Strikes” themes, making it much more beneficial within Galactic Assault.

As with the other heroes in this category, Captain Phasma’s health boost ability is why she receives health regeneration connect to an ability.

  • Old Card: Only Pawns
  • Old Description: For every enemy Captain Phasma defeats with STAFF STRIKES its recharge rate will be increased for five seconds.
  • New Card: Beat Down
  • New Description: Whenever Captain Phasma defeats an enemy trooper with her STAFF STRIKES, she regains 20 health. Whenever she defeats an enemy hero, she regains even more.

Finally, DICE has also laid out a quick FAQ for the Star Cards being changed.

Star Cards Changes FAQ:

Q) If I already own one of the Star Cards that are being changed, what will happen?

A) If you already own one of the Star Cards that are changing, it will automatically change into the new card.

Q) If I have leveled up a Star Card, what happens if it changes?

A) The Star Card will retain its level, despite changing over to its new version.

Q) How did you choose which Star Cards to modify?

A) We used in-game telemetry which told us which Star Cards were not being used. We also utilized community feedback.

Q) Are you going to be making any more changes?

A) We will be monitoring the game and community feedback once these changes go live. We will continue to tweak and balance through further updates to the game.

These changes are currently scheduled to arrive within the General Grievous update and as always, we’re looking forward to hearing what you think.

Whew! That’s a lot, right? Once this update is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Super Brief Battlefield V Hamada Gameplay Shows How Explosions Can Save You

While a lot of gamers have had their chance to experience Battlefield V’s new features in last month’s beta, one of the “new” gameplay mechanics that were shown in the beta that didn’t get a lot of attention was how objective explosions knocked players over.

It might be more of afterthought than anything else, but this gameplay mechanic can save virtual lives! Over on Twitter, DICE Lead Multiplayer Designer for Battlefield V Valerian Noghin shares  a super short clip of him being saved by knockback experienced from an explosion!

I admit, I was a bit annoyed at these knockbacks, but seeing them doing something like this is kinda cool, no? In other Battlefield V news, don’t forget that the complete weapons list, vehicles and more have been revealed today! We also posted some of the headgear/helmet variants players can earn in-game.

Report: Harry Potter RPG Leaked Gameplay Footage Looks Incredible, Watch It Now

It’s Avada Kedavra time, Harry Potter fans! It seems Warner Bros. is working on a as-of-yet–unannounced Harry Potter RPG that’s aimed for hardcore gamers. What’s more, there’s leaked gameplay footage of it flying about right now, and it shows the unnamed wizard killing enemies!

Watch the brief leaked footage below, where we get to see bits of the character creator system, traversal, puzzle, and even goblins being slayed! Yes, this isn’t a Harry Potter game aimed for kids!

The leak, which comes from Reddit user VapeThisBro, even has gameplay details!

Set in the 19th Century (1800’s) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power.

Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins o brew within the castle walls. Together with Professor Elezar Fig, you embark on a journey through both familiar and never before seen locations to bring to light the truth behind these mysterious occurrences.

On your quest you will craft potions, master new spells, and discover fantastical beasts. You will battle Dark Wizards, Goblins, and other supernatural enemies and uncover the truth about your destiny – the Fate of the Wizarding World lies in your hands.

FEATURES – Journey to Hogwarts to become one of 8 different Wizard types -Experience Hogwarts, make new friends, uncover new secrets, and change the fate of the Wizarding world. -Experience a new magic system that creates countless possibilities to master magic. -Freely explore the Wizarding World for the first time., Choose your house and friends at Hogwarts, and decide to pursue a path of good or evil. -Create your own witch or wizard, and experience a all new story separate from the books or films

While the gameplay might be from a canned game, that’s not so according to BBC News reporter Lizo Mzimba. He shares (via Eurogamer) that the footage is legit, and Warner Bros. currently have a few titles in mind for it which include: Harry Potter Magic Awakend, Magic Forever is also in the mix.

Additional digging seems to indicate that the developer is Avalance Software (Disney Infinity), which shouldn’t be confused with Avalance Studios who has worked on the Just Cause franchise. Evidence of this was dug up last year by NeoGAF wherein it was discovered  that Warner Bros. is hiring for a Harry Potter RPG using the Unreal Engine 4 game engine.

Furthermore, Eurogamer has heard the same thing that Avalance is behind this RPG, and it’s currently a year away from launch.

We’ve contacted Warner Bros. and will update the post if and when we get a reply. Will this game have multiplayer of some sort? I sure hope it does. Who wouldn’t want to be in a Hogwarts gang doing all kinds of magical stuff, right?

Complete Battlefield V Weapons, Vehicles, Gadgets List Officially Revealed

As promised by DICE, the studio is going in-depth with Battlefield V’s weapons and vehicles today, and what better way to do that than to list ALL of the available weapons and vehicles players will be using and driving come November 20!

Quick summary: there will be 30 primary weapons in Battlefield V, which will run the gamut from assault rifles, to SMGs. There will also be 24 vehicles that are a mix of land and air. Without further ado, here are the complete weapons and vehicles of Battlefield V straight from DICE!

Battlefield V Weapons List:

Assault Rifles

  • StG 44 – Considered by many to be the first real assault rifle. It combines a high rate of fire with good accuracy and stopping power.
  • Sturmgewehr 1-5 – The selective-fire variant of the Gewehr 1-5 semi-automatic rifle.
  • M1907 SF – Similar to the M1 carbine, only heavier and more powerful.

Semi-Automatic Rifles

  • Selbstlader 1916 – An early German semi-automatic rifle whose sensitivity to field conditions made it more popular with the German air force than its army. Only 1000 were ever made.
  • Gewehr 43 – A rifle so sturdy it can be used as a ladder rung if needed.
  • Gewehr 1-5 – A semi-automatic rifle that used the same detachable magazine as the StG 44.
  • M1A1 Carbine – Very fast firing Semi Auto with a rather weak bullet. Best used within 50 meters.
  • Turner SMLE – Fires faster than the Gewehr 43 but has a weaker bullet at range.

Bolt-Action Rifles

  • Gewehr M95/30 – This rifle’s origins date back to the late 19th century and saw heavy use in World War 1 by the Austro-Hungarian Army.
  • Krag-Jörgensen – A rifle dating back to the late 19th century, with a special type of integral magazine which loaded from the side rather than the top.
  • Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk l – Very fast firing sniper rifle. Its bullet is significantly slower than that of the Kar98k, making it preferable for medium range.
  • Kar98k – The most common bolt-action rifle in the German army.

Self-Loading Rifles

  • Model 8 – Created in 1900. US hunters and some police units would use it, but it was never formally adopted by the US Army.
  • ZH-29 – A hard-hitting self-loading rifle that can kill with only two hits.
  • RSC – By repurposing parts from the Lebel rifle it was designed to replace, the RSC was cheaper to produce for the French army, though there were complaints that it was unwieldy in the trenches.

Submachine Guns

  • STEN – The easier to control twin of the MP40.
  • Suomi KP/-31 – Very hard to control, fast firing SMG. It starts off a bit weak, but benefits more than other SMGs from progression.
  • EMP – Developed in Germany, this submachine gun proved immensely popular across Europe and Asia.
  • MP40 – The Allies called this popular submachine gun the “Schmeisser” although well-known weapon designer Hugo Schmeisser was not involved in its creation.
  • MP28 – After World War 1, Hugo Schmeisser made many improvements to the MP18, such as replacing the drum magazine with a straight one. The resulting MP28 was sold to both China and Japan among others.
  • MP34 – The MP34’s design was based on the old MP18 submachine gun. Used primarily by the German army, it was an extremely well-made gun although the production costs were very high.
  • M1928A1 – The Chicago gangsters made the “Tommy Gun” famous in the 1920s. The US Army adopted it in 1938 for its accuracy and high rate of fire, and Allied Commando and Ranger units used it extensively.

Light Machine Guns

  • KE7 – Medium rate of fire LMG. Even though this light machine gun was designed in Switzerland, the Swiss army never used it.
  • Bren Gun – Based on a Czechoslovak design, with a top-mounted box magazine which gave it a distinct look.
  • FG-42 – Very fast firing automatic rifle with a small magazine. Highest damage output weapon on the support kit.
  • Lewis Gun – Entered Allied service in 1914. In World War 2, the British again used it as an anti-aircraft gun. Its barrel shroud and top-mounted pan magazine made it easy to recognize.

Medium Machineguns

  • MG 34 – The first of a kind: a portable, air-cooled machine gun with a high rate of fire. Too complex to properly mass-produce, it was later supplanted by the MG42.
  • MG 42 – This machine gun was reliable, easy to use, and had an extreme rate of fire. After its introduction in 1942, it was used on all fronts.

Shotguns

  • M30 Drilling – A triple barrel combination gun that leaves you more flexible than you would think. Use it as a double barrel shotgun in close quarters or change fire mode to the rifle barrel for medium range shots.
  • 12g Automatic – Served in both world wars. It was the first successful semi-automatic shotgun used by the Allies, eventually inspiring the German army to create their own version.

Red Dead Redemption 2 HUD Is Customizable, and Other Interesting Factoids

Just a few hours ago, Rockstar Games once again released a hype-worthy gameplay video that showcased some of the gameplay mechanics fans can expect from Red Dead Redemption 2. If that wasn’t able to scratch your itch, we’re here with more!

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony listed 22 Red Dead Redemption 2 facts that should help make the wait easier — or harder — until October 26. Did you know that the Red Dead Redemption 2 HUD (heads-up display) can be customized to some degree? Thought you didn’t. Read on for more factoids about Rockstar’s upcoming western shooter!

A robbery gone wrong puts the story in motion.

You play as Arthur Morgan, member of the infamous Van der Linde outlaw gang. Following a bloody robbery in the Western town of Blackwater that left a trail of dead, the gang is chased by the law East into the Grizzly Mountains. The game picks up as the gang is fighting to survive against the elements of a brutally cold winter.

The Van Der Linde gang is a rowdy bunch, but they’re like family.

Lead by the philosopher-outlaw Dutch van der Linde, this gang of hellraisers is 23 members strong. Doing your part for the gang will raise morale and change the way gang members respond to you. Talk to fellow members for leads on new money-making activities for the gang, or roll up your sleeves and chop some wood or head out to hunt wild game. Or, just pour yourself a cup of joe and listen to some stories. Cough up some of your hard-earned cash for the camp’s donation box to fund future camp upgrades, like fast travel.

It’s visually impressive.

There are multiple camera settings.

In addition to the standard third-person camera, you can pull the camera back to see more of your horse’s fancy footwork, or activate a first-person camera view ala Grand Theft Auto V.

Activate Cinematic camera angles that toggle between dramatic close-range and panoramic shots as you ride the open plains. Hold down X as you ride in this view, and your horse will keep to the track, allowing you to take in some stunning views on epic rides.

New cinematic techniques are also used for seamless transitions between cutscenes and gameplay.

You can customize the in-game HUD.

Press down on the d-pad to toggle between several different HUD options: off, a minimized version, and the default setting. On the radar, you can easily identify story beats by the yellow icons, while emergent “ambient” events are marked in white.

Hold L1 to access the weapon wheel.

A new version of the original’s weapon wheel is available by pressing and holding L1 – but tap R1 and you’ll now have access to helpful support items, including healing potions, binoculars, and the bandana. Weapons include a knife, revolver, repeater, lever-action rifle, and a classic bow and arrow. You can also earn the ability to dual-wield as you move through the story.

Fire a warning shot to get attention.

Everything you carry is independently rendered.

Expect wide environmental diversity.

Small talk can lead to outsized consequences.

There’s more to interacting with this world than just drawing a weapon. When approaching another person, you can hold L2 to pull up a menu of interactions. A greeting can trigger pleasant exchanges, awkward replies… or could provoke a brawl if your counterpart enjoys his privacy. Engaging with townspeople or fellow travelers adds color and unpredictability to the game. You never know what reaction you’ll get.

Some towns keep secrets.

Not every shopkeeper is running an honest business. Some stores have an illicit business on the side – if you can find it, you can hold up the owner for access to their less-than-lawful enterprise.

You can behave honorably or dishonorably.

Arthur Morgan is whoever you want him to be: a good-natured outlaw, a cold-hearted killer, or something in-between. If you want to show off your rebellious side, get ready for witnesses to report your crimes to the local lawmen.

You can cook and craft by the campfire.

Ready for a hearty meal of Gritty Fish, or a healing potion? Or perhaps something a bit more substantial, like special rounds for your revolver or shells for your shotgun? You can craft a wide array of supplies at campfires using ingredients you find or purchase during your travels.

The wildlife is diverse and unpredictable.

Hunt Legendary Animals for special outfits.

Legendary Animals are unique beasts of each species scattered across the world. Bring items from any downed Legendary Animals to a trapper to create unique pieces of clothing to wear.

Your horse is your partner, but you’ll need to earn its trust.

Horses aren’t treated as expendable vehicles here, but as living, breathing creatures with individual temperaments. They provide more than transport: they can carry animal skins and carcasses, as well as extra weapons and gear. To build trust with a new horse, you’ll want to tread lightly — patting it until it’s comfortable in your presence. Horses can be unpredictable based on the situation, too. A nearby snake might give your ride a case of the jitters!

Caveat emptor.

Town gun shops sell a variety of weapons and gear for the seasoned traveler, from new firepower (revolvers, repeaters, rifles, and shotguns) to performance-boosting accessories like gun belts and bandoliers. The shopping UI is a clever touch: you browse the selection using a vintage shopping catalog.

You can bathe, shave, eat, drink, and more.

Arthur’s clothes will accumulate grit, grime, blood, and mud as you fight your way across the Wild West. When you’re ready to clean him up, just head to the local hotel and pay $0.25 to scrub down in the bathtub. To complete the look, get a haircut and a shave — if you’ve got the cash.

The soundtrack is dynamic.

It’s a cross-studio initiative.

Every studio associated with Rockstar Games is pitching in to help create the massive world of Red Dead Redemption 2, which Rockstar sees as a continuation and extension of the vision first laid out in Grand Theft Auto 3 all those years ago.

Pick up your hat with the Square button.

Twirl your guns for extra style.

Just double tap L1 to draw and holster your guns with a twirl and a flourish.

You can read the entire thing right here, but we already listed down the important descriptions of each entry for your perusal. Also of note, Red Dead 2 content will be 30 days early on PS4 due to Rockstar’s marketing deal with Sony.

Red Dead Redemption 2 shoots out this October 26 on the PS4 and Xbox One.
