PUBG Level 3 Helmet Nerf, Weapon Balance Patch & More Coming “Very Soon”

PUBG level 3 helmet nerf, weapon balance changes, and more are “coming soon” to the game. Announced in a development blog update, PUBG Corp. shared their goal to “make it so no one gun will feel objectively better than the others.”

Here’s the full list of upcoming changes:

According to our research, only a few specific types of weapons (ARs) are used in most situations. We believe the choice about which gun to use should be based on personal preference and its effectiveness in any given situation, rather than simply “which gun is strongest.” Our goal is to make it so no one gun will feel objectively better than the others.

Alongside the weapon balance changes, we plan to make some changes to weapon attachments. Again, the goal here is to provide you with a wider array of attachment options so you can choose one that best fits your combat situation (rather than any one “best” attachment).

Finally, expect some changes to the level three helmet. It’s a game-changing item that can impact the outcome of a match—basically, it gives you an extra life in situations where a headshot would otherwise kill you. We don’t want luck alone to determine who gets items like this, so we’re removing it from the normal loot spawn tables and limiting it to care packages only.

These changes will first roll out to the Test Server and then, once deemed stable, they will be pushed through to live servers. PUBG Corp. will detail the specific changes in upcoming patch notes.

In other PUBG news, the new Savage map was recently tested on the Closed Experimental Server, an argument as to whether PUBG is pay to win has been brought up again, and it’s been found that 30% of all PC gamers are playing battle royale titles.

Call of Duty: WWII “Dom 75” to Be the New Standard, Community Challenge Now Live

In an update on the studio’s site, Sledgehammer Games talked about the weekly Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer update where the Blitzkrieg community event was discussed, along with a few other things. Tying in to the Blitzkrieg event, there’s a COD WW2 double XP buff happening now for Ground War Moshpit! This will be activated until 10 a.m. PDT, April 23.

First off, Sledgehammer has confirmed that for Domination, the Dom 100 won the Twitter poll. However, based on the back end data, the final Dom score per kill will be 75 as the “new standard.”

Domination. At last, we have reached a decision! We know that on our Twitter poll, Dom 100 won the vote. However, we also analyzed data on the back end and discussed as a team to help us make our decision: We’ll be going with Dom 75 as the new standard.

Here’s why: Domination is intended to be an objective-focused mode. Playing the mode optimally requires finding a balance between map control and slaying enemies. The XP awards associated with these actions also need to strike this balance. Dom 50 puts too much emphasis on trying to attain complete map control (3-Caps). 3-Caps typically cause spawns to flip and often result in a loss of map control, because it is difficult to locate the enemy team. On the other end of the spectrum, Dom 100 puts too much emphasis on killing enemies (typically in the quest for streaks). Slaying enemies to keep them away from the Dom flags is certainly an important aspect of the mode, but having control of the Dom flags needs to come first for a team to succeed. Dom 75 properly rewards both of these motivations and finds the intended balance regarding how frequently Scorestreaks are earned. Dom 75 encourages players to take control of 2 objectives and then maintain map control by killing attackers (which we consider to be the winning strategy of Domination).

We’ll let you know when this change goes into effect.

Also of note, there’s a new community challenge wherein the entire playerbase will earn rewards based on certain criteria met. Both Contracts and Orders will count to add to the overall total. The rewards, duration and such can be seen below.

Here are the sweet rewards for each Tier, as well as details about the event:

Tier 1: Emblem “Clip”

Tier 2: Calling Card “Eagle Gunner”

Tier 3: Weapon Charm “Bang!”

Tier 4: Special Helmet “M1 Ammo Reserves”

Tier 5: Grease Gun “Rosie II” (75 million Contracts and Orders)

Event Start Date: Friday, April 20, 2018

Event End Date: Tuesday, May 8, 2018

Here’s how to participate:

Log in on April 20 and start completing Contracts and/or Orders. Complete as many as you can! After each Tier is completed by the community, all eligible players will receive that Tier’s reward. Note: If you log in on April 20, you’ll be eligible to collect the rewards from all Tiers. However, if you don’t log in during Tier 1 and log in after any given Tier has been completed, you will only be eligible to collect the rewards for each subsequent Tier. For example, if you don’t log in between April 20 and the time Tier 1 has been completed, but log in during Tier 2, you will only be eligible to receive the rewards from Tiers 2-5.

If you want to complete Contracts:

  • Launch Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer
  • Tab over to HQ menu
  • Head to the Quartermaster (Captain Butcher)
  • Select Contracts you want to complete
  • Complete Contracts
  • Completed Contracts will be automatically tallied towards the community total

If you want to complete Orders:

  • Launch Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer
  • Tab over to HQ menu
  • Head to the Operations Officer (Major Howard)
  • Select Orders you want to complete
  • Complete Orders
  • Completed Orders will be automatically tallied towards the community total

You can check out the complete blog post here.

Fortnite China Image Could Tease New Map or Chinese Support

Epic Games has shared a Fortnite China image across its social media channels, alongside the message: “The Battle Bus is taking off! Destination, China.” There’s no clear explanation as to what this all means, and the image itself is pretty cryptic. What’s clear, is that something is happening on April 23 that concerns China or a Chinese theme.

Check out the Fortnite China image in the match below, and see if you can work out what it all means.

There appears to be two lines of thinking when it comes to this tease. Some believe it’s the launch of a new Fortnite map, while others think it’s the launch of the game in China. For me, the latter seems more believable, and opening up the game to more players will be huge.

What do you make of this all? Let us know.

In other Fortnite news, the game’s April Fool’s Day event was subtle yet fun, there’s a Boogie Down contest that rewards players with their own custom in-game emote, and Epic Games is considering adding a Gun Game mode.

Report: Call of Duty: WWII DLC 3 Info Unearthed Reveals 13 New Weapons, Commando Division & More

While the second expansion to Call of Duty: WWII titled “War Machine” just made its way to the PS4 this month, it seems details regarding the third expansion have already leaked out thanks to people mining the data files.  COD WW2 DLC 3 will have a new Division, a bunch of new weapons, a new War mode map and more.

Thanks to Reddit user LackingAGoodGame, you can check out the weapons and other stuff that was added to the game via the latest patch. Note that with other mined info, nothing here is set in stone just yet, and some weapons might be changed or removed at the last minute.

13 New Weapons, Commando Division, DLC3 War Map, and more coming to WWII
byu/LackingAGoodName inWWII

In case you can’t see the Reddit post, it reads:

New Weapons

All of the following Weapon entries were added with the latest patch, none of which were present in the game’s source until this point. 3 Rifles, 5 SMGs, 2 LMGs, 2 Snipers (Hi Jev), and 1 Melee. Information present in maps/mp/inline/weaponguids.gsh.

  • KGM21_MP
  • ZK383_MP
  • AUSTEN_MP
  • BECHOWIEC_MP
  • BLYSKAWICA_MP
  • EMP44_MP
  • MOSIN_MP
  • PTRS41_MP
  • DELISLE_MP
  • CARCANO_MP
  • SWORD_MP
  • RIBEYROLLES_MP
  • CHATELLEROULT_MP

Commando Division

Despite my previous post detailing the Grenadier Division – majority of which was spread across the recent Divisions Overhaul; the presence of the aforementioned Commando Division has becoming increasingly apparent after the latest Patch, however the Division still seems to be a work in progress, all information is subject to change. On a personal note, this seems extremely powerful, it may be that each Skill will be split into separate Basic Training’s? Information present in maps/mp/inline/divisions.gsh.

  • Specialist Basic Training’s
    • 3 Tiers of Basic Training’s awarded after the required amount of Kills. Unknown if player-chosen or preset Basic Training’s.
    • Basic Training 1: 5 Kills
    • Basic Training 2: 10 Kills
    • Basic Training 3: 15 Kills
  • Increased Explosive Damage Resistance per Crouch/Prone Kill:
    • +2% Explosive Damage Resistance per Kill
    • 3 Tiers of Explosive Damage Resistance: Bronze, Silver, Gold. Increasing a Tier is +10% Explosive Damage Resistance.
    • Bronze: 1 Kill (12% Reduction)
    • Silver: 8 Kills (26% Reduction)
    • Gold: 15 Kills (40% Reduction)
    • Max Explosive Damage Resistance is 99% (35 Kills).
  • Increased Sprint Speed per Hipfire Kill:
    • +0.2% Sprint Speed per Hipfire Kill
    • 3 Tiers of Sprint Speed Increase: Bronze, Silver, Gold. Increasing a Tier is +2% Sprint Speed.
    • Bronze: 1 Kill (+2.2% Sprint Speed)
    • Silver: 10 Kills (+4% Sprint Speed)
    • Gold: 25 Kills (+7% Sprint Speed)
    • Max Sprint Speed increase is 25% (119 Kills).
  • Decreased Recoil per Headshot Kill:
    • -1% Recoil per Headshot Kill
    • 3 Tiers of Recoil Reduction: Bronze, Silver, Gold. Increasing a Tier is -5% Recoil.
    • Bronze: 1 Kill (-6% Recoil)
    • Silver: 10 Kills (-15% Recoil)
    • Gold: 20 Kills (-35% Recoil)
    • Max Recoil Reduction is 90% (75 Kills).

DLC3 War Map

The DLC3 War Map will take place in Tunisia, North Africa. All information is subject to change. Information present in maps/mp/raidobjectives/mp_raid_dlc3_objectives.csv.

Objectives (Placeholder)

  • Capture a Flag
  • Hold a Hardpoint
  • Destroy an objective

Face Camos

Information present in mp/ddl/costumes.ddl.

Added to the data structure containing Heads and Helmets for your Soldier is Face Camos. There is currently no other information regarding these.

Chrome Tiger Camo

Information present in mp/unlocktable.csv.

Despite being present in the game since the Beta Build, the Chrome Tiger Camo is now seemingly obtainable after the latest Patch which also added the Gold Cheetah and Leopard Camos. Logically we can assume unlocking the Gold Cheetah/Leopard Camos on all weapons will unlock the Chrome Tiger Camo, however I have no data to prove this.

While nothing’s confirmed just yet, the info mined so far seems to line up with Call of Duty: WWII’s past expansions. In the meantime, go check out the Blitzkrieg community event currently on-going for COD WW2 right now.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Multiplayer Said to Be Similar to Overwatch

Following news that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won’t have a traditional single-player campaign and will, instead, have a reported battle royale mode, more Black Ops 4 multiplayer info has come to light, and it paints a vastly different picture than what franchise fans are used to.

Twitter user Matt Harris who seems to have a lot of info regarding Treyarch’s upcoming game, has spoken out, and has revealed a ton of info regarding Black Ops 4, the reported battle royale mode, and even Activision’s corporate doings. Normally, we don’t report on random people’s tweets, but credible Call of Duty site CharlieIntel corroborated some of the info, which leads us to believe that some of the stuff mentioned are legit.

First off,  the leak states that the Black Ops 4 multiplayer experience is similar to Blizzard’s Overwatch, which, according to CharlieIntel “lines up” with the info they’ve heard as well. If you’re shocked by this, don’t forget, the game is in active development and as such, things are constantly being changed. Treyarch has reportedly backpedaled on many of the Overwatch-like elements that were in development for Black Ops 4 after initial play testing didn’t go over so well.

Further more, the leak also states that there are some similar elements to Black Ops 4 and with LawBreakers –which in itself was kind of similar to Overwatch. The leak mentions that Black Ops 4 features a mixture of boots on the ground and advanced movements with “many changes to the franchise’s core systems,” like a new killstreak-based system, hero abilities (which are similar to Black Ops 3’s Specialists) and more. Check out the full leaked info regarding multiplayer below.

“New Multiplayer information has been confirmed by more than one source so I can now talk about that more publicly. As of two days ago Multiplayer was in the worst state you have ever seen a Call of Duty multiplayer mode. Sources who have play-tested the mode claim that it is less like a call of duty mode and more like a Call of Duty Overwatch or a Call of Duty Lawbreakers. The Lawbreakers reference is incredibly apt considering what he told me next. Remember how I said the game was simultaneously boots on the ground and advanced movement? Well I can elaborate on that a little more too. The game was going to take the “hero” or “specialist” system from Black Ops 3 and take it to the next level. Perks were basically removed completely, and had instead been morphed into a strange kind of Kill Streak. Normal Killstreaks as we know them, for example harrier jets or chopper gunners, didn’t in fact exist in this version of Black Ops 4. Instead you got highly powerful perks. One of which was a Movement Alteration. It literally changed your movement from Boots on The Ground to something very strongly resembling Black Ops 3’s advanced movement systems.

This fell flat with playtesters. They didn’t like it at all. It was deemed an unfair portrayal of Call of Duty, and something that wouldn’t resonate with fans in the slightest. So, as of the last play test, things are changing. Actual Killstreaks are being entered into the game and the hero systems are being scaled back a little bit. What this does mean is that the game is in fact beginning to resemble more and more the state of the game in Black Ops 3. What this means for the future of BO4 I do not know. Currently my information does not stretch to what the mode will become, only to what it very recently was. With the community reveal only weeks away I am truly concerned for Call of Duty Black Ops 4, and even more concerned for Treyarch as a development studio. This is tighter than it has ever been.”

Note that these should all be taken as rumors until verified or debunked by Activision. We’ve reached out to Activision to ask for a statement and will reply if and when we get a response.

With Black Ops 4’s reveal less than a month away, it seems franchise fans will be in for a shock very soon.

Battlefield 1 Free Map “Rupture” Now Available to All, Monthly Updates to Continue Until June 2018

While DICE has already released the last Battlefield 1 expansion named “Apocalypse,” that doesn’t mean the game won’t be supported. In a new post on the official website, DICE announced the future plans for BF1, and that includes a Battlefield 1 free map and mode!

Starting today, all Battlefield 1 players will be able to play the Rupture map form the They Shall Not Pass expansion for free! If that’s not enough, a new game mode called “Shock Operations” will be made available this June to all players. It’ll be a 40-player match, which sees attackers and defenders fighting over sectors like in your usual Operations map, but for this mode, it’ll be for one single map, which means each match will considerably be shorter than Operations.

Shock Operations will be playable on five maps: Giant’s Shadow, Prise de Tahure, Lupkow Pass, Zeebrugge, and River Somme. Anyone can play Shock Operations on these maps even those who don’t own Battlefield 1 Premium.

Finally, DICE has mentioned that monthly updates for Battlefield 1 will continue until June 2018, where players can expect bug fixes, balance changes and even fresh content.

With EA set to announce a new Battlefield game due later this year, this is the beginning of the end for Battlefield 1, but man, what a ride it’s been, right?

Monster Hunter World Update 3.00 Stampedes Out, Here’s the Full Patch Notes

Monster Hunter World is the gift that keeps on giving! Capcom has rolled out Monster Hunter World update 3.00, and as previously mentioned, it adds a new Elder Dragon, new quests, new loot, a ton of bug fixes and more!

Clocking in at approximately 1.2GB on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, the full Monster Hunter World update 3.00 patch notes and additions can be read below.

New Monster: Kulve Taroth

An elder dragon that protects itself with a glittering coat of metal. Its ecology and coat differ with each sighting, thus requiring more thorough investigation.

New Locale: The Caverns of El Dorado

The Caverns of El Dorado are a peculiar network of caverns shaped and influenced both by the Everstream and the minerals that Kulve Taroth has collected over the years. Kulve Taroth’s nesting ground—as yet undiscovered—is rumored to rest within the deepest region of the caverns, from which tremendous geothermal energies seem to emanate.

Armor Set: Kulve Taroth b

Palico: Kulve Taroth Set a

Major Additions and Changes:

  • An Interface menu and an option called HUD/Help Text Size have been added under the Options menu on the title screen. You can now adjust HUD text size to be larger than the default size.
To go along with this new option, the “Subtitle Text Size” option added in PS4 Ver 2.00/Xbox One 2.0.0.0 has been moved from the in-game options menu to the title screen options menu.
  • A feature to sort investigations has been added to the Manage Investigations screen.
  • You can now sell all Trade-in Items at once when selling items.
  • Pressing the Square button on PS4 or X button on Xbox One allows you to switch between the Decoration name and Skill name when setting decorations.
  • You can now preview armor at the Smithy even with Layered Armor equipped.
  • An update has been made to squad management so players who haven’t logged in for 30 days aren’t automatically kicked from the squad.
  • A tweak has been made so the camera is not forced to follow an active Scoutfly trail when fast traveling or returning to camp after fainting.
  • You can now cultivate Ivy at Botanical Research.
  • If a field researcher with important dialogue is present during an Expedition, an exclamation mark (!) will be displayed beside that character’s name on the World Map when departing.
  • The Search Via Play History description text has been reworded to be easier to understand. The function itself has not changed.
Previous: Search for an Online Session that you joined based on your play history.
Now: Search for an Online Session based on your play history.
(Cannot find a previous met player if they’ve left the Online Session.)
  • Flash Pod effectiveness against Tempered Monsters will gradually decline after multiple uses, and will cease to have any effect at all after a certain point.
  • To coincide with the Tempered Monster’s increased resistance to flash pods, the special rewards from Tempered Monster Investigations have been reworked to produce better results.
Threat Level 1 Special Rewards will now produce Warped Feystones.
Threat Level 2 Special Rewards will now produce Shining Streamstones.
Threat Level 3 Special Rewards will produce Shining Streamstones more frequently.

Bug Fixes:

Notice and Apology Regarding Guild Card Lighting

Due to updating the Guild Card lighting system when adding new poses during update PS4 Ver. 2.00/Xbox One Ver. 2.0.0.0, the lighting for existing poses were affected and player’s appearance on their Guild Cards underwent a change. We are preparing a fix that will be part of an update in the future so the lighting will be same as before PS4 Ver. 2.00/Xbox One Ver. 2.0.0.0. We appreciate your patience regarding this issue.

  • A bug has been fixed where the Jump Master skill would not activate during the beginning of the Vaulting Dance animation after a Jumping Advancing Slash or Strong Jumping Advancing Slash connect. The player will no longer go into a mid-air knockback animation.
  • A bug has been fixed where players would not recover from Defense Down status even when gaining a Defense Up buff from a Hunting Horn melody.
  • A bug has been fixed where during PS4 Ver 2.00/Xbox One 2.0.0.0, when the Self-Improvement Encore buff would add Attack Up for the player using the Hunting Horn, the Self-Improvement Encore message would not display “Attack Up + Deflected Attack Prevention”. The effect itself has not changed.
  • A bug has been fixed where your bait wouldn’t be consumed if you failed to reel in a giant creature.
  • A bug has been fixed where the Free Meal skill wouldn’t apply to Mushrooms you can eat via the Mushroomancer skill. Now when the Free Meal skill is active, Mushrooms will not be consumed when used.
  • A bug has been fixed where the lock-on cursor would target the space in front of Teostra’s face instead of the actual face when aiming the Slinger. The cursor will now lock onto Teostra’s face properly.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused Mining Outcrop points to not increase during High Rank quests and expeditions in all locales despite the environment info indicating that they are in upsurge.
  • A bug has been fixed to adjust the amount of Nitroshrooms harvested when using fertilizer. It has been adjusted to the following.
    No Fertilizer: 2
    Fungi Harvest Up (S): 2+2
    Fungi Harvest Up (L): 2+6
  • In Ecological Research, there was a mistake in the level display for monsters found only in high rank that have a maximum of 4 levels of research. The following changes have been made to their monster field guide entries.

    Research Level: Current Research Bonuses

    Before:
Level 0: Monster Field Guide Level 1 (Ecology)
Level 1: Monster Field Guide Level 1 (Scoutfly Bonus only)
Level 2: Monster Field Guide Level 2 (Physiology)
Level 3: Monster Field Guide Level 3 (High Rank Reward page added)
Level 4: Monster Field Guide Level 4 (High Rank Reward rare materials and drop rates displayed)
    Fixed:
Level 0: Monster Field Guide Level 1 (Ecology)
Level 1: Monster Field Guide Level 2 (Physiology)
Level 2: Monster Field Guide Level 3 (High Rank Reward page added)
Level 3: Monster Field Guide Level 4 (High Rank Reward rare materials and drop rates displayed)
Level 4: Monster Field Guide Level 4 (High Rank Reward rare materials and drop rates displayed)

    Research Level: Next Level

    Before:
    Level 1: Habitat Info Added
    Level 2: Material Info Added
Level 3: Rare Material Info Added
    Level 4: N/A
    Fixed:
    Level 0: Ecology
    Level 1: Material Info Added
Level 2: Rare Material Info Added
    Level 3: N/A
    Level 4: N/A
  • A bug was fixed where the Charge Blade move “Sword: Sliding Slash” was displayed as “Advancing Slash” while in the Training Area.
  • A bug was fixed where the Gajau was classified as a Piscine Wyvern in the Monster Field Guide. It has been changed to its correct classification as Fish.
  • In French, the Dragon Jewel 1 decoration had the same name as the Bow’s Dragon Piercer move. The decoration has been renamed to the following. If you have a Dragon Jewel 1 decoration in your possession, please be aware that your decoration has not been removed, but simply renamed.
    Before:
    Joyau perce-dragon[1]
    After:
    Joyau tueur de dragon[1]
  • Description text for the following three trophies/achievements have been updated, as previous translations had the term giant crowns instead of making a distinction between gold and silver crowns. This fix is for all languages except Japanese and Traditional Chinese.

    Giant Crown
    Giant Crown Collector
    Giant Crown Master

Whew! That’s a lot, no? Enjoy the new content, hunters! Stay tuned for more Monster Hunter World news here on MP1st!

Report: Battlefield V Battle Royale Protoype Being Worked on by DICE

With news surfacing that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will have a battle royale mode at launch, it seems EA’s Battlefield franchise might be following suit. According to a new report by VentureBeat, which also leaked the existence that this year’s Battlefield game will be titled “Battlefield V,” a prototype Battlefield V battle royale mode is being tested by the studio!

Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, the same report mentions that DICE hasn’t exactly approved or confirmed this Battlefield battle royale mode into the game just yet, and as mentioned, is in the prototype stage for now. Additionally, it also states that even if the studio is happy with what it has so far, it won’t be ready in time for the game’s launch.

Will we see Battlefield V Battle Royale as a free title update? Given how DICE has handled past titles in the series post-launch, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this as a free title update or something part of Battlefield Premium.

EA has declined to comment regarding this report, but once we know more, we’ll be sure to let people know.

If there ever was a franchise that could theoretically handle battle royale or adapt to it easily, it could very well be the Battlefield franchise given its expansive levels, destructible environments and so on.

Would you want to see Battlefield Battle Royale? Or should DICE focus on the core experience and not deviate from what has made the franchise successful?

Report: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Mode in Development

With yesterday’s big unconfirmed news that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won’t have a traditional single-player campaign, some franchise fans might be wondering what’ll replace the mode. Well, it seems we now know what.

Multiple reports have cropped up overnight stating that a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode will be part of the game when it ships this October! The news first came to light via reliable Call of Duty leaker CharlieIntel who mentioned that the Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode is being developed by Raven Software, who some might know as the studio that made Modern Warfare Remastered, along with helping out in other Call of Duty expansions.

Further reports have made their way online, with Eurogamer’s sources also saying the same thing: there will be no full-fledged campaign, but a Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode is indeed being worked on. What’s more, while the Black Ops 4 version of the popular mode might not hit the 100-player mark from the get-go, the developers are said to be “working towards that number.” Note that game development is an ever-changing scenario, so some of the info here could be a work-in-progress, or scrapped altogether.

Just to further hammer the point across, Kotaku has multiple sources who corroborated that Black Ops 4 won’t have a traditional campaign as well. Given Activision has been adamant that it doesn’t want to comment on the on-going rumors and such, we’ll have to wait until May 17 when the Black Ops 4 official reveal will take place to know more.

Given the success of games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Fortnite, it’s not that surprising to see the Call of Duty franchise dip its toes in the battle royale pool. Whether it’ll be successful is another story though.

Do you think this Black Ops 4 Battle Royale mode can and will replace the traditional multiplayer mode of the franchise? Are you OK with having this instead of a traditional campaign?
