Divinity 2 Console Release Date Set for This August 2018

While PC players have been enjoying Larian Studios’ Divinity: Original Sin II since September of last year, console players will finally be able to dive in and see what the fuss is about later this year!

In a press release, Bandai Namco Entertainment (who’ll be publishing the game) has announced that the Divinity 2 console release date has finally been narrowed down to August 2018! Not only that, but the UI (user interface) will even be changed to make sure it’s as painless as possible on PS4 and Xbox One!

DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 gives players the freedom of a sandbox RPG, encouraging improvisation and experimentation, with rules made to be bent rather than followed. The game takes place in the world of Rivellon where players can go anywhere, talk to anyone (living, dead, or non-human), and fully interact with the game world like no other RPG.

The game features six unique origin characters with full-fledged backstories, personalities, and questlines: Red Prince, a haughty but heroic lizard noble; Sebille, an elven assassin; Lohse, a possessed musician; Ifan ben-Mezd, a mercenary ex-soldier; Beast, a rebel-turned-pirate dwarf; and Fane, an undead member of the long-forgotten Eternal race. Console players diving into the world of DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 for the first time will enjoy a user interface tailored for console play in both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen co-op modes. Additional content updates and extra features will be announced in the weeks and months leading to the game’s launch later this year.

As an RPG fan, color me excited! Let’s hope nothing gets lost in translation with this gem when it hits consoles.

Ubisoft Teasing Splinter Cell Announcement in New Ghost Recon Wildlands Teaser

Remember when a few weeks ago, we reported that a Splinter Cell game was listed on Amazon? While that might have been a listing error, this new teaser video squashes any doubt that Sam Fisher is going back in action!

In a new Ghost Recon Wildlands teaser video titled “The Call,” we can hear Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fisher talk about a special operation in Bolivia, with the trailer announcing an April 9 date to know more about it.

When duty calls, he answers. Stay tuned for a full briefing on April 9.

Now, before anyone gets too excited, this is most likely just a Splinter Cell-themed mission in Ghost Recon Wildlands rather than a full fledged Splinter Cell game. But that said, it’s been ages (last one was 2013) since we got to play as super-spy Sam Fisher, so we’ll take it whatever we can get.

I don’t know about you, but maybe Ubisoft is ready to bring back Sam and this is their way of whetting people’s appetites before a Splinter Cell PS4 and Xbox One entry is announced at E3 2018? One can hope, no?

For more on Ghost Recon Wildlands, check out the year two plans by Ubisoft for the third-person action shooter.

    • Concussed: Adds “Take two pieces of Lethal & Tactical equipment”. Removes “presetting what the equipment is”.
    • Instincts: Adds “Immune to Shell Shock and Tactical Equipment”. Esports-only change to remove “warning when targeted off-screen” benefit (with the intention for this BT to be unbanned by MLG and used in competitive to counter Tacticals).
  • Incendiary Shells attachment buffed
    • Gives Additional Shells (7 for Combat Shotgun; 8 for all other shotguns)
    • Range reduction of Shells buffed to -10% from -15%
    • Sped up loading of shells for Combat Shotgun
  • M30 Rifle Bullet ammo buffed
    • Gives Additional Bullets (8 bullets instead of previous 6)
  • LMG Bipod Buffed
    • Increased fire rate while mounted (+9% which is equal to Rapid Fire attachment for LMGs [which stacks])
    • Firing while mounted initially draws ammo from reserve then once exhausted draws from current clip (removing the need to reload).
  • Sniper Sharpshooter Duration Buffed
    • Hold breath increased to 10 seconds from 4 seconds. Promotes using snipers the “proper” way rather than quickscoping.
  • Buffed “Take Significantly less fire & explosive damage” from Armored
    • 80% reduction from fire & explosive damage (previously was 65% reduction)
  • “Reduced idle sway” from Infantry III & Scoped now affects snipers
    • 30% reduction for Snipers; vs. all other weapon classes’ 65% reduction
    • This does stack with Ballistic Calibration attachment
  • Buffed “Move faster while aiming” from Infantry IV & Scoped
    • Maintained separation between weapon classes (Sniper < LMG < Rifle < SMG < Pistol / Shotgun)
    • LMGs mostly got their ADS firing speed buffed since that was previously very slow even with Infantry IV
    • Snipers got a smaller buff than other weapon classes since it isn’t beneficial to move too fast
    • Pistols & Shotguns already equaled non-ads speed with Infantry IV so they were not adjusted

Man! That’s a LOT of changes! It’s like, they completely re-jigged the entire multiplayer experience, no? As someone who hasn’t played COD: WWII in months, this just might be the trick to lure me back. The changes listed above are definitely ones I’m looking forward to.

What do you think of the upcoming COD: WWII changes? Is it too late? Is Sledgehammer changing something that doesn’t need changing? Let us know in the comments.

Next Boss Key Game Has “Fresh Creative Leaders,” LawBreakers to Be Supported in Its “Current State”

It looks like it’s the end of LawBreakers future updates, with developer Boss Key moving to only support the game in “its current state.” The developer has announced that it will be focusing on new projects. The new Boss Key game will be directed under “fresh creative leaders.”

In a developer blog post, Boss Key confirmed that they’re working on “something new” and can’t wait to share more about it. It’s apparently a “passion project that [Boss Key] is in complete control of.”

Read the full developer blog post below:

LawBreakers Community,

It has been a while since we said anything about LawBreakers. With that, the past four months at Boss Key Productions has been especially trying, as we pride ourselves at being communicative and transparent.

So here is the very real truth, which may not come as a surprise.

The fact is LawBreakers failed to find enough of an audience to generate the funds necessary to keep it sustained in the manner we had originally planned for and anticipated. And while a pivot to free-to-play may seem like easiest change to make, a change of this magnitude takes publishing planning and resources to do it.

The team here has worked hard on this game over the past three and a half years and our studio is determined to give this game the second life it deserves. However, between now and then, we cannot sit idle. We will continue to support the game in its current state, but we also need to focus on other projects with fresh creative leaders. We have been working on something new and we can’t wait to share more about it! It’s a passion project that we’re in complete control of.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and patience.

DayZ New Engine Launches “In a Couple of Weeks” on PC, Xbox One X Footage Released

It’s 2018 and a DayZ new engine is set to launch “in a couple of weeks,” and the game is also setting its sights on current-gen consoles, showcased in new Xbox One X gameplay.

Back in the days of 2010, DayZ was huge and unmatched. However, with H1Z1PUBG and other battle royale games now out there using similar mechanics, DayZ is going to have to prove itself a worthy contender.

The game’s lead producer Eugen Harton says that DayZ isn’t looking to compete with PUBG or Fortnite:

The hardcore simulation we’re working on is not gonna compete with PUBG. It’s not gonna compete with Fortnite… I think we have a different customer. I’m pretty sure of that… It might not become a mainstream thing, but that’s not our customer. I’m okay with that. I know what game I’m making – I don’t want to appeal to everybody.

Surprise! Here’s how DayZ gameplay looks running on actual Xbox hardware. Announced back in 2015 alongside the Xbox Game Preview program, DayZ is still coming to Xbox and we’ve played it. Join us in our epic quest to shoot zombies and find a drink of water in this DayZ gameplay on Xbox One X, then subscribe for more on Outside Xbox.

This DayZ Xbox gameplay is all played in offline single-player mode, so although you won’t see us being murdered or forced to drink bleach by player-controlled bandits, you will get a feel for DayZ’s new graphical engine (which will also be introduced to the PC version) and how the survival elements work.

What do you make of the DayZ Xbox One X gameplay? Let us know in the comments below!

Destiny 2 6v6 Multiplayer Coming Next Week, Dev Q&A Addresses Community Concerns

During the latest “This Week at Bungie” blog post, the developers dove into more Update 1.1.4 details, and gave an update on when the first Destiny 2 6v6 multiplayer event will launch.

Fortunately for eager players, 6v6 multiplayer will be available on April 10, when the new Iron Banner launches. Those taking part in the Iron Banner limited time event will be able to earn all Season 2 Iron Banner weapons through Reward Packages, or via direct purchase using Iron Banner Tokens. The event is scheduled to end the following Tuesday, on April 17.

Destiny 2 Developer Q&A

Q: In regards to Time to Kill, it’s a pretty popular opinion within the community that the TTK should be decreased. Do you have any plans on looking into this issue further? This sandbox update was called the go fast update. Will the next be called kill fast? Thanks for listening
Josh: We know this is one of the big items the community would like to see. We’re already coming at it from a few different angles. With Update 1.1.4, we wanted Guardians to feel more powerful and to get more chances to showcase that power. These changes included making weapons more lethal. The next big Sandbox update comes with Season 3 as we buff a good chunk of the Exotic weapons. These changes will be a direct response to “Exotics don’t feel Exotic enough.” Some of these weapons are getting damage buffs that can have a direct impact on the average TTK of an encounter.
Q: Will Vigilance Wing be allowed to reign supreme in the crucible or will we see any fine tuning in the near future?
Josh: While we will continue to adjust the Sandbox, we are not planning an outright nerf to Vigilance Wing at this time. We don’t believe slowing Vigilance Wing’s TTK in a world where our players are asking for a faster TTK is the right call. Instead, we should be adjusting more weapons up to a level where they can compete. I believe you’ll find a few retuned Exotics that can do that in the Season 3 Exotic update.
Q: When will we get the stream for Expansion 2 and Season 3? Liking the Go Fast Update so far. Excited to see what’s next.
DeeJ: We will be back on stream later this month to talk about the next content updates for Destiny 2. We’ll show you where you’re going next, who you’ll meet when you get there, how you’ll share new activities with your friends, and what you’ll be able to chase in the Crucible to prove your prowess.
Q: I’d like to know which elements of the recent and future updates the team have enjoyed working on the most, or which ones they are personally most excited for.
Kevin: With Seasonal Crucible Ranks, we’re looking to serve many goals. Most important to players like me, something to chase or something to set goals for every season. There is a reason to play, and there is a reason to perform in the Crucible. You’ll earn unique rewards for things like time commitment or performance. I’ll be back on a future stream to talk more about the ranking system, Valor, and Glory.
Q: I really wish D2 weapons system returns to primary/special/heavy. It was better than the current one. Is my wish reasonable?
Josh: We know that you want more control over your loadouts. You can expect weapon slot changes in the future of Destiny 2. We are actively working on a new system right now and we will have more to show and tell this summer.
Q: What is the exact design philosophy that lets you determine when a balance change is good? What testing procedures do you follow in order to implement a change? I think people in general want to know why some changes seem to take so long compared to other titles.
Josh: At any given moment, we are working on numerous Sandbox updates that follow the same pipeline. First, we set goals for what we want to accomplish with any given update. For example, the purpose of 1.1.4 was to directly affect the pace of combat and to allow for more powerful and heroic moments. In Season 3, we’ll be delivering a round of Exotic weapon tuning intended to make them feel more exotic. With our goals defined, we make the changes, playtest, and iterate for as long as we can. Destiny is a huge game with tons of different areas that may be affected in different ways (positive or negative) from any given change we may make. Our test team also plays them with us and helps us hunt for anything that we may have broken. Finally, those changes have to get packaged up into an update and certify those builds with each of our platforms before they finally roll out to you.
Kevin: It’s all priority. We have many releases, but we have a finite number of people on the team. For us, it’s all about prioritizing what we can get done and when we can get it done. So, in some cases (like weapon slots) – that’s going to take a long time. The bigger the change, the more focus and people are required to get it shipped.
Q: Any plans for the development team to get more directly involved in community feedback? Whether that be responding to feedback, or making dev posts detailing game decisions and why they were made. Might be exciting for the community to get a more intimate look.

DeeJ: On the community team, we are always looking for new ways to get designers socializing with players. Moments like the Bungie Bounty are a good chance to swap some chatter. You can expect to see them quoted on the blog whenever their work is in a place where they can go on record. Last week, we sat Josh down to talk to us about his motivations for Update 1.1.4. We also help you find them online so you can follow their dialogue about their day to day.
Josh: You’ve been seeing a hearing from me a good bit lately. I hope that my candor helps show that we are serious about our commitment to communicate more clearly and more often with you. If you need EVEN more, look for me on Twitter @Josh_Hamrick or Kevin at @Tocom11.
Kevin: We’ve heard the feedback that the community wants more involvement, or at least more of a conversation. We’re actively looking at ways to do that, with this stream, and even in game. We know there is a big desire for testing builds early, and that’s something we’re thinking more about.
Q: When can you tell us about your solutions for the loot system? Like random rolls, perks/mods, depth to weapons and armor and stuff like that?
Josh: I’m no Investment Designer but I can tell you that we, as a team, know that you want more reasons to play. We know you want to be excited about the possibility of any given drop again. We know you want to look forward to hopping on night after night for a shot at something you want to get your hands on and that you look forward to the adrenaline rush when it finally happens. We are actively working to get there, together. We’ll talk more about our plans when they are in a playable state that we think is stable.
Q: Are there any set plans to introduce new elements, classes, subclasses, or weapon types to the game in the near future?
Josh: Yes, to some of these. From my desk, right now, I can look around and see new hotness on several people’s screens. We’ll be showing off a lot of this stuff in the months to come.
Q: How did the Crucible Team decide on random game modes, instead of letting players choose what mode they want to play like we had in D1?
Kevin: The biggest driver of that conversation was trying to improve matchmaking times and connection quality. Additionally, it allows us to better supply certain moods. As you’ve seen with 1.1.4, we’ve reinforced those moods. Quickplay is now delivering the 4v4 low intensity that we intended for that playlist. Competitive is now driving further the 4v4 high intensity. The biggest driver is connection quality and connection times. More people in the pool means more good connections.
In May, Private Matches are coming. At any point when you want to get a game of Control together, you can do that. In terms of players asking to “make Rumble permanent,” we’ve absolutely heard that feedback. To be more specific, we’ve heard that, we understand that, and we’ve been having conversations every day since the launch of 1.1.4 about that. Hopefully we’ll have more to say soon.
Q: Are you looking back at Destiny 1 for inspiration, or are you trying to find a new way forward? What do you currently consider to be a high priority for PvE and PvP? Any hints for random rolls or special slot… pretty please.
Josh: Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 are two unique and helpful data points. Neither game is perfect. Both have plenty of room for improvement. It’s hugely helpful to be able to directly compare and contrast the two and see what worked and what didn’t. Ultimately the goal is just to make Destiny 2 be the best Destiny we’ve ever made.
Q: Why can’t the mobility stat increase sprint speed? I’m a Hunter, I need to ninja.
Josh: Our goal with 1.1.4 was to get back to more of the Destiny 1 style of movement, especially the movement you’re working with mid combat. Sprint speeds weren’t changed for D2 and therefore it wasn’t crazy high priority to hit those. That being said, we called it the “Go Fast” update for a reason and it was absolutely one of the potential changes to test with on our list. As we dug into making changes to it we ran into some technical challenges that kept it from being possible to get up in time to test with. It’s something we will continue to consider in the future though. What I can tell you is we buffed standard movement quite a bit.
Fun Fact: Any Mobility value over 5, after 1.1.4, is faster than max Mobility base speed values in D1.
We also returned (increased) Air Acceleration back to its D1 values, as well.

What do you think of the changes coming in the Destiny 2 1.1.4 update? Let us know.

In other Destiny 2 news, several top Destiny YouTubers have lessened their support of the game, Bungie is hiring a new community manager, and the developer explains the faction rewards throttle and incoming adjustments. It also seems like the next DLC will be Destiny 2 The Fallen Warmind, if these leaks are to believed.

Rainbow Six Siege Toxicity Management Is Being Worked on by Ubisoft

Regardless if you’re a veteran or newbie Rainbow Six Siege player, there’s always some spoilsports and assholes that make playing the game a less than pleasant experience. This hasn’t escaped Ubisoft as the studio has posted a developer update regarding Rainbow Six Siege toxicity.

According to the studio, this is a priority that the studio will be “focusing on a team over the next few years,” with the end goal to track negative player behavior, and implement features that will encourage players to improve on their negative behaviors.

There are some short-term changes planned which will have an immediate impact like team killing, chat filtering and more. Read up on the details below as well as when they’re expected to roll out.

CHAT MONITORING

We are currently tracking the frequency at which racial or homophobic slurs are used by individual players, and will be applying bans with increasing severity on a case-by-case basis.

This is clearly outlined in the following section of the Code of Conduct:

“Any language or content deemed illegal, dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive or constituting harassment is forbidden.”

The bans for this will fall within the following durations, depending on severity:

  • 2 Days
  • 7 Days
  • 15 Days
  • Permanent

*Please note that this is not a strict progression of bans. Particularly egregious offenders can be permanently banned without a warning, 2, 7, or 15 day ban being applied beforehand.

MUTE TEXT CHAT FUNCTION

ETA: Season 3

We want to put more power in our player’s hands to manage their own online experience. As such, giving you direct control over communication channels is important. We are working on allowing players to mute players individually for each player in the game. For example, you can mute the text chat of player A, the voice chat of player B, text and voice for player C, and neither for player D.

CHAT FILTERING

ETA: Season 3

Our team is working on the creation of an automated system that will censor text chat in game based on a chat filter list. This will replace words that have been identified as offensive and provide players with a notification that their language was found to be unacceptable. We will also be tracking the number of times players trigger this filter and will take action as necessary for players that are intentionally having a negative impact on other player’s gaming experience.

TEAM KILLING

ETA: Season 2

Intentional team killing is an issue in Rainbow Six, and our current method of addressing it is being improved. The goal is to track long term offenders across multiple games and sessions that slip through the cracks of our current team kill detection system. We cannot provide too many details on this, as it will lead to exploiting.

These short-term changes will begin to address toxicity, but we do not plan to stop there. We are serious about tackling the issues surrounding the potential for a negative player experience, and we will share any further changes with you prior to their implementation. We are interested in hearing your thoughts, and gathering your feedback! Please jump into the discussion on the subreddit and let us know what you think.

Don’t forget, Ubisoft has rolled out an update that targets hate speech users already, so this is an issue that the dev team is very much aware of.

PUBG Files Lawsuit Against Competition, Wants Copycats Taken Down

With the battle royale genre exploding into prominence with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), it was only a matter of time until copycats jumped in to take advantage of the game’s popularity, and of course, earn a few bucks too.

On the mobile gaming front, NetEase’s Rules of Survival and Knives Out are doing brisk business so far — even if there’s a mobile version of PUBG out now. Well, their success hasn’t escaped the eyes of PUBG Corporation as the company is now suing the copycats. According to a complaint filed in the federal court of California, PUBG states that the two mobile games were released before PUBG’s own mobile version came out, in order to gain market share (well, duh!). Not only that, but it gave examples of how NetEase copied several elements of PUBG without permission, and how it’s fooling mobile users from thinking Rules of Survival and Knives Out are connected to PUBG.

The 155-page filing lists a lot of things which PUBG Corp. claims are infringing on their trademarks. There are buildings, vehicles, weapons, gameplay mechanics like the shrinking area, and more. Another point of contention has been the “Chicken Dinner” message to winners of the game, which both mobile games use as well.

According to PUBG, these sort of messaging and images are made to confuse the public into believing that NetEase games are developed by, and connected, to PUBG.

“Defendants intended to create consumer confusion as to the source of ROS and intended to cause consumers to believe, incorrectly, that ROS had been developed by PUBG.”

PUBG Corp. stresses its point that both Knives Out and Rules of Survival are regularly referred to as “PUBG mobile” in the marketplace and by people, which proves that there is some confusion going on.

Back in January, PUBG asked Appled to take action against NetEase and their games for infringing on their trademark applications, to which NetEase denied. As a result of this, PUBG has filed a lawsuit where it it wants both mobile games taken down permanently, as well as monetary compensation.

PUBG has suffered irreparable harm as a result of Defendants’ infringing activities and will continue to suffer irreparable harm in the future unless Defendants are enjoined from their infringing conduct.

You can watch Knives Out in action in the video below.

Will the courts decide in PUBG’s favor? Your guess is as good as mine at this point. While it’s a safe assumption that NetEase did copy PUBG and capitalized on the PUBG craze to rake in a ton of cash on mobile platforms, PUBG Corp. has to prove that first before any of the game gets taken down.

You can read the entire 155-page complaint filed by PUBG here.

Rumor: The Division Developer Said to Be Working on a Battle Royale Project

With the success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Fortnite, it’s not surprising that more and more developers are jumping into the battle royale bandwagon. Well, if rumors are true, then it seems a Ubisoft battle royale game might be making its way out soon.

According to GameReactor’s anonymous sources, Ubisoft Massive, who’s currently developing The Division 2, is currently working on a battle royale title. Apparently, Ubisoft commissioned Massive to check up on the battle royale mode back in January 2018, and Ubisoft Massive has mentioned that they can whip up “something fun” in a short amount of time. It’s not known whether this is a spin-off mode for The Division, a standalone project, or something else.

When pressed to comment, a Ubisoft rep gave the ol’, “We don’t comment on rumors and speculation” line.

If this indeed is real, I wouldn’t be surprised given how popular the mode is, it’s just a matter of time until almost every publisher has a version of it. Then, it’ll flame out, and we’ll get another new hot sub-genre to obsess about, and the cycle repeats itself.

Would you want a Ubisoft battle royale game? Or has the genre burning itself out?

Ubisoft: Ghost Recon Wildlands Battle Royale Is Impossible “Right Now”

Following an April Fool’s Day joke that seemed to tease an upcoming Rainbow Six Siege battle royale mode, fans have been wondering whether any other Ubisoft franchises will be getting the battle royale treatment.

One player hit up the official Ghost Recon Wildlands Twitter account, suggesting that a 100-player mode would be great, as it could make great use of the “beautiful map of Bolivia.” Ubisoft responded, saying that they “understand the allure of the Battle Royale game mode” and acknowledged that “it may seem like a natural direction for Ghost War.” Unfortunately, “it would involve changes in the game structure and technical challenges that are simply impossible to undertake right now.”

That means we won’t be seeing a Ghost Recon Wildlands battle royale mode in the near future. However, with another year of content having been confirmed, it’s perhaps possible that a battle royale-esque mode will be added further down the line.

In other Ghost Recon Wildlands news, new Year 2 content details have been revealed, and the game’s anniversary was celebrated with free in-game items and a video.

Mothergunship Release Date Now Set for Summer 208

The first-person bullet-hell spiritual successor to Tower of Guns — Mothergunship — now has a release window! In a press release, GRIP Digital, who’s co-developing the title with Terrible Posture Games, has announced that the Mothergunship release date will fall somewhere in “summer 2018” for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Check out the latest trailer below.

Gun Customization:

See that massive machine in the cover art? That’s the MOTHERGUNSHIP, and yeah, you’re supposed to fight it. Luckily, MOTHERGUNSHIP (the game) lets the player craft, create, and customize their very own gun monstrosities to fend off all the foes you’ll face along the way. The only boundary is making the barrel face forward. The rest is up to your creative will. Joe Mirabello wanted the process to be exploratory and “game breaking”. With different barrels, caps, and stock pieces, players customize the shape, output, and total energy consumption of the weapon. Want to make a 10-barreled flamethrower sniper that’s shaped like a box in your FOV? Yup, go for it. How about a gravity dipping grenade launcher that also has 3 shotgun barrel attachments? Totally! Oh yeah, you could also make something more manageable too.

We’ll have some exciting news to share soon about how players can try their hand at this before release. But, ummm, that’ll come soon 😉

Take a peek at the gun customization here

Mothergunship will also be playable at PAX East this weekend, and some “remote preview opportunities” will be coming very soon as well. Don’t forget, Mothergunship has co-op multiplayer, so you’ll have a cohort in crime in dishing out chaos.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 Details Announced, Watch the Trailer

In a press release, Ubisoft has announced that Ghost Recon Wildlands will get a host of new, post-launch content in its second year! The first Ghost Recon Wildlands year 2 update will roll out on April 10, and will be called “Special Operation I,” and will contain the following:

  • Teammate Customization: The number one feature requested by the community, teammate customization will allow players to customize teammate outfits with all items they have unlocked for their own character.
  • PvP Update: A new game mode called “Sabotage” with five exclusive maps, the first of six new PvP classes for Year 2, and new perks and weapons.
  • PvE Update: A free special themed PvE mission and special challenge with exclusive rewards.

The Special Operation I includes the content planned for Updates 5 & 6 from the original Ghost War roadmap. There’s also paid stuff too, which you can read about below.

On top of that, Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Year 2 Pass offering seven-day early access to all the six new Year 2 GhostWar classes, an exclusive customization pack, and eight Battle Crates (four Special Ops crates and four Ghost War crates) to further customize players characters in the main game as well as in the Ghost War. Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 pass will be available digitally for $29.99.

In addition to that, Ubisoft has confirmed that the second year support for Wildlands will extend to both the campaign, and the Ghost War PvP mode. This is definitely good news for Ghost Recon Wildlands players, and its once again a shining example of the publisher supporting their player base even after a year of the game being out.

Are you still playing Ghost Recon Wildlands? How is it so far?

Report: First PS5 Info Surfaces

While there’s still a lot of gaming to be had with the console generation we’re in now, there’s no denying that the PlayStation 5, and whatever Microsoft calls the next Xbox is swiftly creeping up. Just last month, word got out that devkits are being sent out to developers so they can start creating PS5 titles.

Now, in a new report by SemiAccurate, the site has published what it calls PS5 info! Note that the site requires a $1,000 subscription, but thanks to ResetEra users, we have a quick summary of the info below.

Quick Summary of Playstation 5 article:

-Uses AMD’s Navi as its base architecture, not specifically using Navi.
-CPU is custom Zen
-Large amount of devkits have apparently gone out.
-Author suggests 2018 release of PS5 is not out of the question based on the amount of devkits released as this is a “sure sign that the launch is getting close”. Not definitive.
-VR “goodies” baked in at the silicon level. (My Opinion, not authors: Sony not giving up on PSVR any time soon. VR support inside the PS5 right out of the box)

Some more stuff in there, but doesn’t really discuss power of the system.

Why should we believe a website that calls itself “semiaccurate?” Well, for one thing, it did get the n news that Nintendo was partnering with NVIDIA with the Switch, and it got the correct PS4 tech specs way back in 2012, so the site’s track record has been reliable at the very least.

That said, I really, really doubt it’ll be released in 2018. Heck, I’d be surprised if it was revealed this year. If I had to wager a guess, the PS5 would be announced next year, with an official release in 2020.
