Following Power Save Feature Addition, Death Stranding 2 Update 1.010 Released

Yesterday, Kojima Productions released a new Death Stranding 2: On the Beach patch that added the Power Save feature, which was introduced to the PS5 via last month’s system update.

It seems something got broken with that patch, as Death Stranding 2 update 1.010 (complete version 1.010.000), and this should be another small download.

Don’t expect much from this patch, as the turnaround time makes it more of a hotfix than an actual content update.

Death Stranding 2 Gets Second Patch  in Two Days as Version 1.010

Kojima Productions nor the PlayStation support studio that helped in developing Death Stranding 2 have shared any details on today’s update yet.

If we had to hazard a guess, this patch should fix performance issues that some users have reported after installing yesterday’s patch that made the game crash.

While we got a patch a few months ago that resolved the stuttering issues, there are still a handful of problems that the devs have yet to address, which include:

  • PCC items are still missing player IDs
  • PS5 overheating on map (for some)
  • Users have reported that the fan on the base PS5 is louder after installing the patch.
  • Sound issue wherein it gets super loud during combat (quick fix is to pause/unpause to normalize audio levels)

The Power Save feature patch also came with a Chinese dub, so that’s an extra that we weren’t expecting.  When it comes to PS5 system updates, a new one was released today, and it’s more than your usual stability patch.

If the developers release a proper changelog, we’ll update the article to reflect it. For those who notice a bug that got resolved, leave a comment below and we’ll check it out too.

Read on for the complete list of new content and changes made today.

Madden NFL 26 Season 3 Adds New Content, Gameplay Upgrades via Patch 1.008

Gameplay

Catching

  • Increased catch knockout chance for more realistic KO outcomes on Competitive Gamestyle.
  • Fixed catch animation blending to prevent hand warping during catches.
  • Fixed a catching issue on the Stretch Alert Bubble play where the catch would initiate but not sync up to the pass resulting in a fumble.
  • Fixed a rare issue where receivers warp to 23 mph during a standing catch.

Locomotion

  • Tuning to improve scramble throw animations by elite scramblers like Lamar Jackson.
  • Addressed an issue with WRs jogging after a teammate catches a pass.
  • Addressed an issue with no cut-move playing on slants.
  • Tuning to reduce the effectiveness of the spin move for taller ball carriers.
  • Fixed an issue causing a safety in coverage to sometimes use an incorrect drastic-turn taking him out of position to cover a corner route.

Post Play

  • Fixed the Bowling Celebration where the ball was teleporting forward.
  • Fixed a rare issue causing a receiver to get frozen in an animation after a successful catch-tackle.

Defense

  • Fixed an issue preventing the proper press animation from triggering in man coverage vs. Gun Empty Steeler – Steeler Cross.
  • Fixed an issue causing the AI-controlled defense to sometimes align in goalline incorrectly vs. certain 4-WR sets.
  • Fixed an issue with Zone coverage defenders flipping coverage assignments to the opposite side of the field in Nickel 3-3 Single Mug formation when offense flips the play.

Pass Rush

  • Fixed an issue where defenders with equal or lower Pass Rush ratings were unable to trigger a Super Win. Now, all defenders have a fair chance to break through based on situational factors and ratings.
  • Adjusted animations for Contains when defending against run actions or play action. Defenders will no longer play the surf animation in these scenarios.
  • Improved consistency for CPU/User-controlled Defensive Linemen triggering Pass Rush moves. Expect more dynamic and responsive line play.
  • Fixed a delay in Contain defenders disengaging when the QB drops excessively deep in the pocket. Pass Rushers will now react more quickly to extended dropbacks.
  • Reduced the frequency of Bull Rush moves being triggered. Pass Rushers will now use a more balanced variety of moves based on their archetype and ratings.

General

  • Increased QB Fumble Chance vs user hitstick on Competitive Gamestyle for better gameplay balance.
  • Resolved an issue where the Ball Carrier coach adjustment was impacting user players resulting in user controlled ball carriers sometimes having a 0% fumble chance.
  • Greatly improved the visual clarity when a player on the field triggers an Ability.
  • Addressed an issue where the Mini Games: Two Minute Drill was missing the ‘Continue’ button.
  • Fixed an issue where Offensive PI would be called when running the Gun Bunch Str Nasty – Mtn Double Pass due to blockers going too far downfield.
  • Fixed an issue in Superstar Showdown (Ranked) where users would hold LB and let AI play for them.
  • Tuned CPU QBs rolling out of the pocket too quickly when unnecessary.

Special Teams

  • Increased the max distance on a field goal for kickers with 99 KPW to achieve a 70 yard field goal with a max power low trajectory kick.
  • DEV NOTE: During the Pre-Season, Jaguars Kicker Cam Little made a 70 yard field goal that tested the boundaries of what is possible on the field. To reflect this achievement in Madden, we tuned our 99 Kick Power Max Distance so that you at home can recreate this iconic moment.
  • Addressed several blocked kick exploits.
  • Fixed an issue where kick returners would have trouble fielding the ball on shorter kicks to the numbers.

Playbooks

  • Fixed an issue with the ball snapping over/around QB causing fumbles on the Pistol – Spread: Jet Touch Pass play
  • Fixed an issue on the Flexbone Close: WR Dive play where the QB keeps the ball when snapped early.
  • Fixed an issue with the ball teleporting between hands during Singleback Ace Dbl Wing-Fake: HB Zone QB Boot Lt.

  • Dime Load Weak – Missing coverage shell adjustments have been fixed.

New Formations

  • 3-3-5 Penny 3 High
  • Dime Single Mug and 2-3 Single Mug
  • Dev Note: Added to provide more flexibility and disguise in your defensive scheme. Single Mug looks force offenses into more one-on-one pass protection, making it easier to generate heat with stunts and targeted blitzes—especially off the slot.  The 3-3-5 Penny 3 High Safety is based on the real-life Arizona Cardinals’ innovations, this defense brings a modern spin: three deep safeties and fast front personnel create unique run fits and coverage shells, ideal for keeping offenses guessing pre- and post-snap.

New Plays

  • Blitz Loop 3, Nickel Sim 2, and Field Sim 3 – Added to Nickel Double Mug, 2-4 DBL Mug, and 3-3 DBL Mug
  • Cover 2 Roll, Show SS Sim 2, and Cross Sim 2 – Added to Nickel Over, Nickel 3-3 Over, and Nickel 2-4
  • Dev Note: Plays like Nickel Sim 2, Show SS Sim 2, Cross Sim 2, and Cover 2 Roll in modern football are known as “NTT” (Non-Traditional Tampa) coverages. The “Sim” (short for “Simulated Pressure”) tag indicates that although the defense gives the appearance of a heavy blitz (rushing five or more), in reality only four defenders rush while seven drop into coverage. This approach maximizes coverage integrity, yet keeps the offense guessing where pressure will come from.

Playbook Updates

  • Bengals – Added 3-4 Tite, Cub; Nickel 3-3 Cub, 3-3 DBL Mug, Single Mug; Dime Single Mug.  Removed 4-3 Over Wide; 46 Normal, Nickel DBL Mug
  • Cardinals – Added 3-3-5 Penny 3 High and Dime 2-3 Single Mug
  • Colts – Added Dime 2-3, 2-3 Single Mug; Nickel 3-3 Over, 3-3 Double Mug, Single Mug, 3-3 Cub; 3-4 Tite, Under, Cub.  Removed Dime Normal, 4-3 Over, Wide; Nickel Over, Nickel Wide

  • Added Dime 2-3 Single Mug to Bills, Broncos, Panthers, Rams, Ravens
  • Benkert’s Dimes playbook receives 36 different plays from Gun Bunch TE and 33 plays from Gun Bunch X Nasty

Presentation

  • Added custom pregame sequences for the NFL Rivalries program
  • For NFL Rivalries associated games in Franchise mode, uniforms are preset to highlight the unique matchups of the Rivalries program
  • NFL Rivalries field art has been updated for all NFL Rivalries teams for the 2025 NFL Season
  • Additional commentary updates for NFL Rivalries games

  • Fixed issue with Upcoming Games banner not displaying bye week

Franchise

  • Updated an issue where the Super Bowl logo referenced was last year’s Super Bowl LIX image.
  • Updated an issue where Coach Abilities were displaying as locked although they were upcoming within the Coach Archetype’s path
  • Resolved multiple stability issues to enhance overall game performance and user experience

Superstar Mode

  • Added a new Stats tab in the Superstar Center, with standings and League Leaders.

Challenges, Events & H2H

  • Fixed errors that occurred after completing a challenge, ensuring progress is saved and rewards are granted.
  • Resolved long loading screens after finishing or selecting sequences of challenges.

  • Addressed missing or overlapping division icons in the H2H Ranked Progression screen.
  • Users re-joining Squads lobbies will now see the ready button consistently and return to the correct lobby after matches.

If you’ve yet to pick the game up, check out our review where we state, “Many people had started to write off the Madden franchise as being nothing more than we’ve gotten in recent years, but entries like Madden 26 prove there is still plenty of quality to be found in the franchise.”

PS5 New Update Ver. 25.07-12.20.00.05 Released on Oct. 22, Brings More Than Just Stability Improvements

While we’re used to seeing Sony release minor PS5 system updates that improve the console’s stability, that’s not the case today. The PS5’s new update 25.07-12.20.00.05, released this October 22, isn’t a major upgrade that adds in a slew of new features, but it’s also more than just your standard system stability patch.

Clocking in at 1.3 GB, this new firmware update improves DualSense Edge stability, the console’s messaging feature and more.

New PS5 System Update Released on Oct. 22

PS5 Update 25.06-12.00.00.43

Here’s what’s new per Sony:

  • You can now use your console to check the serial number of your console, and of DualSense wireless controllers that are currently connected by USB or Bluetooth®.
    • For your console, select Settings > System > System Software > Console Information, and then check Serial Number.
    • For a DualSense wireless controller, select Settings > Accessories > General > Advanced Settings > View Serial Number.
    • We’ve updated the device software of the DualSense Edge wireless controller to improve stability.
  • We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.

That’s about it. It’s not a major system update, but it’s more than just your usual stability one. In other PlayStation news, the PS6 has been teased by Sony and AMD, and it’s been mentioned it’ll be coming in a “few years,” which should surprise no one.

The last major firmware update was released a month ago, adding the Power Save feature, which multiple first-party games are receiving as title updates. Yesterday, both Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and even Death Stranding: Director’s Cut got title updates that added this and a few more improvements.

MSI VERSA PRO Wireless Review – Premium Lower-Cost Gaming Mouse

Gaming mice are a dime a dozen these days. They come in all shapes and sizes, colors and styles. MSI is no stranger to this category, and over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been testing out their VERSA PRO WIRELESS gaming mouse for review consideration. We’ve spent a couple of weeks putting this mid-range mouse through its paces, and have our review ready now.

In the Box

In the box are just a few things: the mouse, a 2-meter FriXionFreeCable USB-C to A charging cord, and an instruction manual. This particular model appears to only come in black, which makes sense at this price level. With an MSRP of $69.99 USD, it’s not quite at the impulse level, but it also won’t drain your wallet like so many other high-end gaming mice. The feature set fits the price, indeed. Not all the bells and whistles, but some premium features where it counts.

The VERSA PRO WIRELESS weighs 97 grams, or a hair over 3.42 ounces. It’s incredibly light, yet hefty enough not to feel cheap. It’s right-handed, with an obvious resting area for your thumb on one side. The side grips are textured, featuring what MSI calls Diamond Lightgrips—a grippy texture with semi-translucent plastic that allows two lighted zones along each side. These zones, combined with the scroll wheel and MSI logo on top, provide four zones of RGB lighting.

On the underside, you’ll find five skates, which glide smoothly across most mousing surfaces, as well as the DPI switch button. A rounded access door can be popped off by pushing in one side, which disengages a magnet that otherwise holds it in place. This reveals a compartment containing the gold USB transceiver. This is for use with MSI’s proprietary SWIFTSPEED 2.4 GHz protocol. The VERSA PRO WIRELESS also sports Bluetooth 5.3 and USB 2.0 as alternative connectivity options, which means you can keep the transceiver in one computer all the time, while still having options to connect to another via Bluetooth (or you can also still use the mouse while it is charging via USB-C to A cable. There is also a dock connector, because MSI sells a docking station for this model, a surprise to see at this price point. Although we didn’t receive the model that included it, product shots suggest it could be a decorative piece, making it a nice inclusion if aesthetics are important to you. While this is a nice-to-have, it is far from required and the mouse functions fully without it.

Plenty of Buttons

The VERSA PRO WIRELESS sports 15 buttons, including the regular left and right buttons, which are powered by OMRON optical micro switches that are rated at 70 million clicks before failure might start to kick in. Obviously, we cannot test for such claims, but as optical switches have fewer moving parts, there is ample reason to believe this spec. The clicks are very quiet, and each main button requires a decent amount of force in order to actuate. For instance, a HyperX mouse I have used prior to obtaining the VERSA PRO WIRELESS is constantly the victim of accidental clicks, in part because the main buttons are too easy to press accidentally.

Besides the main left and right buttons, the mouse wheel can not only be clicked, but a switch below it acts as a toggle: the mouse wheel can either ratchet as it scrolls for precision (ideal for switching weapons in an FPS), or a free-spinning mode for much quicker scrolling, which is perfect for browsing websites. This feels like a higher-end function, and is something I have missed when I switched from a business-oriented mouse over to my HyperX. The mouse wheel also supports four-way scrolling: up, down, left, and right are all included, which also feels rarer at this price point.

The rest of the buttons (13 out of the 15 total) can be reprogrammed using the MSI Center application. While you are required to at a minimum assign a left click function, anything is fair game. One button in particular, situated at the front left of the mouse, is quite hard to press. It is assigned as a mute button by default, but perhaps using it as a macro would be more helpful; thankfully, the MSI Center application allows for recording of actions for this common feature. Near that is a sniper key, which causes the mouse to decrease its DPI, which can be handy when attempting to make long-range shots in shooting games, or for a temporary precision increase in other applications.

A High DPI Count

A PixArt PAW-3395 optical sensor drives cursor tracking. It uses an infrared LED, which you can easily verify by pointing it at your smartphone camera. It’s capable of a DPI as high as 26,000, which is overkill for almost anything you might possibly need fast cursor speed for. At that level (and, honestly, even half that), the cursor appears to basically teleport across the screen with even slight movement of the mouse. This higher DPI level can only be achieved with the MSI Center application, which isn’t uncommon for computer peripherals. If you choose not to download their software, you will have to live with the five built-in preset DPI settings. These settings start at 400 and double at each press of the DPI switch button on the mouse’s underside, reaching 6400 DPI. Even this default high setting should be enough for most gamers, but if you’re used to something higher, you’ll want to download MSI Center.

MSI Center is quite similar to many other hardware manufacturers’ customization software. It detects any MSI-branded hardware connected to your system and offers to download features that help you customize it. In the case of the Versa Pro Wireless, this means using their Gaming Gear module at a minimum, alongside the optional Mystic Light module. The Gaming Gear section lays out all compatible peripherals you have installed. For the Versa Pro Wireless, here is where you can modify the three different profiles and settings across four tabs. The “Buttons” tab lets you customize what each button on the mouse does. Performance tab enables you to set up the five DPI levels as well as the Polling Rate (which goes up to 1000 Hz), Lift-off distance, angle snapping, and motion sync. MSI Speedshift, which displays a tachometer that reacts to three “gear” settings – the lower the gear, the longer the battery life, at the expense of some accuracy. Most people will be just fine with this set to Gear I, because the battery life tradeoff is likely not worth it. I’ve had the Versa Pro Wireless for a little over a week, and with it in Gear III the entire time, the battery is already down to 51% as of this writing. If Gear I and II extend the battery life by an appreciable amount, that would immediately shoot up the longevity to months instead of weeks.

Software Needs Some Work

One issue we encountered during our testing of the VERSA PRO WIRELESS is that the MSI Center application did not seem to properly save profile settings to the mouse. While the settings would persist when the application was running, even simply putting the computer to sleep would cause the settings to be lost. DPI settings would revert to factory settings, and even custom macros would cease to exist. We’re not sure what the issue is yet: we’re on an ASUS TUF F17 gaming laptop from 2024, running Windows 11 Home 24H2 (so, not a preview/beta build). Should this situation change, we will update our review accordingly. But this does put a damper on any customization we might want to do, because without a guarantee that the settings will stick around, it feels pointless to mess with them for very long right now.

Verdict

The MSI VERSA PRO WIRELESS is a versatile right-handed gaming mouse that has basically all of the features you would expect in its category at this price range. It doesn’t break the bank, yet feels premium in the hand. The weight is right, battery life is solid, lighting is nice, and switching between a clicky or smooth scroll wheel is great. Some application issues may put a halt to any customization options, however, so hopefully that will be rectified sooner rather than later. Despite this, we would recommend this mouse to anyone looking for premium features at a price that doesn’t cause your wallet to catch fire. It may not have the highest polling rate, but for any average PC gamer, the high DPI settings available should suffice anyway.

Score: 8/10

Pros:

  • Premium look and feel
  • Very lightweight, yet still hefty enough
  • Excellent RGB lighting zones
  • Versatile mouse wheel
  • Lots of buttons to customize
  • Good battery life, extendable via settings

Cons:

  • MSI Center application currently has saving issues
  • Dongle storage is a little awkward

Ninja Gaiden 4 How to Adjust DLSS Setting

Ninja Gaiden 4 is officially out, and while it comes with upscaler support on PC for both FSR and DLSS, it seems that the latter is “broken.” While you can adjust different modes (performance, balance, and quality) with FSR, it looks as if DLSS only allows you to turn it on and off, with no control over the upscaling it does in-game.

Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your system, as this was more of an oversight on the studio’s part. Luckily, there is a way around this.

How to Change DLSS Modes in Ninja Gaiden 4

Despite Ninja Gaiden 4 supporting Nvidia’s DLSS, it appears there are no options for adjusting its modes beyond turning it on and off. A rather odd omission on the studio’s part, with a developer even commenting on Steam that there’s currently no way to adjust it in-game.

“Hi there — thanks for checking out Ninja Gaiden 4!

At this time, DLSS options aren’t adjustable directly from the in-game graphics menu. To tweak DLSS modes (e.g., Performance / Quality), please open the NVIDIA App / GeForce Experience and adjust the DLSS settings there.”

Despite recommending players to adjust the DLSS modes via the Nvidia App, many are still encountering issues, with some not even being able to change those settings through it. I do recommend you try first, make sure you add the game to the list, and force DLSS, especially if it’s disabled in-game with no way of changing it. Adding it to the Nvidia app and then selecting a mode will fix that option, too.

If that doesn’t work, there’s an easy fix: edit the game’s config settings. Here’s how:

  • Open Steam, right-click on Ninja Gaiden 4, select “Manage,” and then browse local files, which will open the installation folder.
  • Open the “Config” folder, then open the “settings.ini” file with Notepad.
  • Here you’ll see some text, with one line saying “DLSSSaclingFactor = -1.0”
  • Adjust the number at the end for whatever DLSS mode you want, which are:
    • 1.3 for Ultra Quality

    • 1.5 for Quality

    • 1.7 for Balanced

    • 2.0 for Performance.

  • Save the file, and you should now have DLSS enabled with your preferred mode once you launch the game.

It’s not the most ideal way of doing it, especially since you have to close out the game each time you want to switch modes.

If I am being honest, the game is generally pretty optimized, and I found that I’m able to get smooth performance without any upscalers enabled. Still, not everyone’s system is the same, so if you’re experiencing performance hiccups and have a DLSS-supported card, try this out; hopefully, it will give you better frames.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Battlefield 6 XP Farming Rooms Have Been “Killed” Off With Limited XP Update

The player and weapon progression in Battlefield 6 at launch was downright horrible, with some items tucked away via Assignments that had ridiculous challenges tied to them. Players started countering this with XP bot lobbies made via Battlefield Portal where players can kill bots, finish Assignments, unlock stuff and just to progress through the ranks.

The overabundance of these rooms meant that actual BF Portal experiences couldn’t be started by players, given almost everyone started boosting lobbies that prevent other people from hosting their own matches.

That’s ending now, though, as Battlefield Studios are clamping down on XP bot rooms in Battlefield 6! A recent backend server update has seemingly killed a majority of rooms in terms of XP gained. While the experiences can still be created, enabling bots or any custom ruling now results in restricted XP being earned.

There has yet to be any official confirmation from the studios, though it seems that many have been able to verify it themselves.

Say Goodbye to Battlefield 6 XP Farming Rooms

When DICE and the rest of the Battlefield Studios announced that Portal was going to be returning for Battlefield 6, many had already assumed that the experiences offered would be filled with XP farming rooms. That was the case for Battlefield 2042, which had a massive problem with XP rooms, and it was something that many fans were hoping would be addressed in the latest release. That wasn’t the case, at least for the last week, as Portal servers were flooded with XP farming rooms rather than real experiences that many wanted to play. So much so that whenever someone tried to create a new Portal experience, they’d be greeted with an error message about the capacity being reached.

Well, it looks like things have finally been addressed, as many have noticed that the rooms now have reduced XP, available only for match completion. Check out the new Portal XP earn rate screen (via BF Bulletin):

While there are still some rooms out there that are still running with full XP, it seems that many experiences have now been updated with the reduced XP. It seems to apply to any custom-based room, as well as to rooms that are being back-filled with bots.

That’s not to say that players can’t create official rooms, but they just can’t have bots enabled. We tested this ourselves, keeping all the rules official, and trying it out with bots enabled and then disabled. Sure enough, the room had full XP enabled whenever bots were disabled, and then reduced XP, which is only match completion, whenever bots were enabled.

For those wondering why players did this, it was mostly because some of the game’s progression was locked behind challenges. Many felt that the numbers required for some of the challenges (such as 150 headshots with a sniper 200m away) were unfair, so they resorted to playing in bot-filled rooms to complete the challenges.

One of the biggest criticisms of Battlefield 6 is the challenges, particularly how training paths, weapons, and other features are locked behind them. As someone who has been working towards completing some of these in live games, I can tell you they are the most counter-productive challenges you can think of, often making me ignore playing the objective.

While DICE buffed XP earn rate and made weapon unlock progression much easier and faster, the Assignments are still not in a good place. The devs have said they are looking into it, but no specific list of changes have been shared yet.

I can only imagine how many more matches will now be populated with snipers, as they all fight amongst one another to try and get those headshots over 200 meters away.

In other Battlefield 6 news, the game’s deadzone settings for controllers is broken, and there’s proof of it.

Hopefully, Assignments, progression, and other issues with the game are sorted when Season 1 rolls out next week.

Black Ops 7 Changes From the Beta Based on Community Feedback Outlined

We’re a few short weeks away from the launch of Call of Duty Black Ops 7. While Treyarch has already outlined several changes they’ve made based on community feedback (such as with SBMM), it seems they aren’t planning on slowing things down, as a new dev talk has been released, outlining even more big changes.

Those who weren’t a fan of not being able to aim down sights while sliding, diving, and wall running without the dexterity perk will be happy to know this is now part of the default movement.

Black Ops 7 Getting Big Changes Ahead of Launch

Ahead of launch, Treyarch is addressing some of the biggest feedback that players gave for Black Ops 7 during the recent open beta. This was confirmed in a new dev talk, where they broke down many of those changes, which you can watch and read up on below.

ADS & Dexterity changes

ADS while sliding, diving, and Wall Jumping is now the default in Black Ops 7. You can still equip Dexterity for maximum fluidity, but you won’t need it to aim down sights in all situations.

Aim assist adjustments

The team is focused on aim assist strength across all ranges, as well as rotational aim assist and the requirement for the right (aim) stick to be moving in the direction of a target on controller. More details to come!

Louder footsteps

Based on Beta feedback, footstep volume has been slightly increased, slide speed & distance have been slightly reduced (but still awesome!), and mantle speeds will be faster across the board.

Perk distribution updates

We’re redistributing several Perks to incentivize varied playstyles and make sure Slot 1 isn’t so stacked:

  • Tech Mask: Slot 1 —> Slot 2
  • Scavenger: Slot 1 —> Slot 2
  • Cold Blooded: Slot 1 —> Slot 3
  • Looper: Slot 2 —> Slot 3
  • Tac Sprinter: Slot 3 —> Slot 1

New Perk combinations

We’re also combining a handful of our MP Perks to support even more powerful playstyles:

  • Shadow+Engineer
  • Vendetta+Assassin
  • Bruiser+ Close Shave
  • Hunter’s Instinct+Tracker
  • Quartermaster+Gearhead (!!)

Players can also expect faster mantle speeds and new slide tuning to come at launch, along with additional changes that will be discussed at a later time.

Overall, these are fantastic changes, and we’re glad to see that Treyarch is quickly addressing many of the issues that players had during the beta. We’re particularly interested in the aim assist changes, especially for mouse and keyboard users, as this has been a major complaint during the beta, with some players calling the experience “unplayable” due to the unfair advantages that controller users have been given this time around.

Of course, we want there to be a good balance between the two inputs, and hopefully, Treyarch has found something that will make everyone happy.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially launches on November 14, for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Diablo 4’s Latest Update on Oct. 21 Applies Set of Fixes via Patch 1.095/1.95

Blizzard has rolled out build 2.4.2 for Diablo 4 on October 21 on consoles and PC. This is a minor patch that aims to resolve quest-related issues and more.

Console gamers will see this appear as Diablo 4 update 1.95/1.095, which is also a small download.

For the complete list of fixes, the official patch notes are available below.

Diablo 4’s Build 2.4.2 Appears as Update Version 1.095/1.95

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Bartuc’s Reign of Chaos quest could appear completed even though not enough Veneration had been acquired.
  • Fixed an issue where Bonestorm would occasionally be canceled prematurely.
  • Fixed an issue where Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus still referenced “using this weapon” when it appeared as Chaos Armor.
  • Fixed an issue where Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty’s Unique Power would last an insufficient duration while gaining Berserking.
  • Fixed an issue where Twisting Blades sometimes couldn’t hit Hellwyrms when attacking from behind.
  • Fixed an issue where the Harbinger of Hatred Tormented Echo could jump through the fog wall.
  • Fixed an issue where some cosmetic items from previous seasons appeared locked.

There was also a patch released two weeks ago that had gameplay-related adjustments and class tweaks as well. Here are some of the key changes made from the patch that was released on Oct. 7.

Season of Infernal Chaos

All Classes

Chaos Powers

A Beast Cornered

  • Previous: For every 10% Life you are missing, you gain 10-20%[x] increased damage and 5% damage reduction. Spending resources also drains a percentage of your Life equal to 30% of the Resources spent, refunding those resources. This cannot reduce you to below 10% Life.
  • Now: For every 10% Life you are missing, you gain 10-20%[x] increased damage and 5% damage reduction. Each resource you spend also drains a 0.2% of your Maximum Life to refund 40% of the total resources spent. This cannot reduce you to below 10% Life.

Rogue

Orphan Maker

  • Damage bonus for every second Reload Skill increased from 50%[x] to 100%[x].

Sorcerer

  • Crackling Energy no longer gets picked up from the Convulsions passive if you are full on Crackling Energy charges.

Infernal Hordes

  • The range of Soulspires was increased, and Monsters will frequently ambush players inside.
  • The Ambushing Hellborne Infernal Offer now results in far more Hellborne ambushes.

There are many more changes available in the patch notes. Once Blizzard releases another update, expect it here on MP1st.

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut Update 1.005 Released on PS5

Aside from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Kojima Productions has also updated the first game in the franchise, though only the PS5 version.

For PS5 owners, this will show up as Death Stranding: Director’s Cut update 1.005 (complete version 1.005.000), and this clocks in at 5.78 GB.

Read on for what got added for the game in the patch notes.

Death Stranding PS5 Version Updated to 1.005 and Adds Power Save

Death Stranding Save Transferring Guide 4

While Sony nor Kojima Productions have said anything yet, we can confirm that the update does add the Power Save feature. For those unaware of what it is, Sony rolled it out last month as a system update.

The Power Save feature is a mod that runs the console at less power, at the cost of lower frame rate and resolution.

One Reddit user said that this also adds Mandarin as a dub option and some “minor performance improvements,” which means that some bugged areas might now be fixed.

In related news, Death Stranding 2 director Hideo Kojima has recently said that AI (artificial intelligence) will be able to create remakes and sequels at some point in the future.

Death Stranding 2 Update 1.009 Adds Power Save Feature

As promised, and with several first-party PlayStation games already receiving a patch for the Power Save feature, it’s now Death Stranding: On the Beach’s turn today.

Kojima Productions has released Death Stranding 2 update 1.009 (complete version 1.009.000) on PS5, which not only adds the Power Save feature but also includes other changes, though nothing major.

For the details, read on below.

Death Stranding 2’s Latest Update on Oct. 21 Adds New Features via Patch 1.009

Death Stranding quick resume

While the PlayStation support studio that usually releases the changelog hasn’t said anything yet, we can confirm that the update does add the Power Save feature.

Another game that got the patch recently is Bend Studio’s Days Gone Remastered, as well as the Demon’s Souls PS5 version.

Nothing has been announced for Death Stranding 2 in terms of new content, though there is a chance that more patches are on the way to fix any nagging issues.

In related news, Death Stranding 2 director Hideo Kojima has recently said that AI (artificial intelligence) will be able to create remakes and sequels at some point in the future.

The Outlast Trials Invasion Update Unleashed via Patch 1.000.035/1.38

Red Barrels has rolled out The Outlast Trials Invasion update, which is a new and permanent PvP mode! Console gamers will see this as The Outlast Trials update 1.000.035/1.38, and this is another hefty download for the game.

To see the new event details, new MK Challenge, new Limited-Time Event “Geister”, and more, read on.

The Outlast Trials Invasion Update Adds Permanent PvP Mode via Patch 1.000.035/1.38

Here’s what Red Barrels has to say about Invasion:

“The new Invasion Mode allows players to join as either a Reagent or an Imposter, but only a limited number of Imposters can invade any given Trial: while the others wait, they act as the the eyes and ears of their murderous teammates. Each Imposter will get a chance to invade the Trial, as their peers succeed in their sabotage… or die trying. This new game mode is a lasting addition to The Outlast Trials, and a permanent fixture of its gameplay.

Imposters only have a limited time to take down their target. Once the time limit elapses, they must return to the nearest Insertion Gate or risk electrocution — and even death, resulting in a time penalty before their next respawn. But fear not, for Imposters are capable of seeing the noise and disturbances that Reagents cause, giving them an extra edge against their targets. At the end of the match, Imposters are evaluated based on the amount of damage inflicted on Reagents, as well as the number of slain Reagents and for staying alive through their turn. And lastly, Imposters are incapable of picking up Reagent items, but are uniquely immune to psychosis gas and Prime Asset effects.”

New MK-Challenge: BEGUILE THE CHILDREN

The television screen is the retina of the mind’s eye, where anything is true and everything is possible, especially when the audience cannot see the tools that are shaping their mind. Take control of the broadcast, reshape the subliminal message, and we will let you out.

New MK-Challenge: INVESTIGATE THE MINOTAUR

Corporate power and dynastic wealth are the cornerstone of free societies, but only so long a extracurricular activities can be kept quiet. Once private hobbies become public scandals, the guilty must be exposed and destroyed so more tedious dynasties can be put in place. Find the evidence of the Buffalo Minotaur’s crimes, bring it to the press, and we will let you out.

New Limited-Time Event: GEISTER

  • Experience the event by playing Trials in the program Geister.
  • Earn Event Tokens by completing Trials and Geister Tasks.
  • Program Geister Variators:
    • EXTRACT ORGAN SAMPLES. Find deceased reagents and extract organ samples for analysis.
    • HALLUCINATIONS? Side effects, trauma or something else?
    • MORE IMPOSTERS. More NPC imposters in the Trial.
    • NO PLAYER NAMES. Player names are hidden. (Intensive and Psychosurgery)
    • ENRAGED ENEMIES. Enemies are on high alert! (Intensive and Psychosurgery)

Event Schedule:

  • Part 1 will take place from October 21 @ 10am ET – November 4 @ 9:59am ET
  • Part 2 will take place from November 4 @ 10am ET – November 18 @9:59am ET

You can read more about the update in Red Barrels’ dev blog about it.

Fallout 76 Servers Taken Down to Apply an Update on Oct. 21

While the Fallout 76 servers went down yesterday, it was due to the Amazon server situation that saw games like Fortnite, Palworld and more go down as well. Today, October 21, Bethesda has pulled the servers down intentionally and this is to apply an update.

For the Fallout 76 downtime details, head on below.

Fallout 76 Servers Offline Temporarily on October. 21 for an Update

Fallout 76 Update 1.99

Update: The complete patch notes for today’s update is live, which you can read right now to see the big list of fixes applied.

Per Bethesda, the downtime starts at 10 am ET/9 am CT/7 am PT/10 pm HKT. While the developers don’t say how long this will take, expect this to last for at least 3-4 hours or more. Usually, downtime ends at 1 pm ET/10 am PT/1 am HKT.

As for the update, this is a patch for bug fixes rather than delivering new content, so temper expectations. While the “mini season” starts today, the data for it should have been rolled out alongside the previous Camp Revamp major update if I’m not mistaken.

Speaking of major updates, the Burning Springs patch is set to drop the same time as Fallout’s Season 2 on Amazon. While contents of the patch remain a mystery, the developers did reveal that Walton Goggins will make an appearance in the game as The Ghoul!

Expect the article to link out to the patch notes once it’s available. If anything changes regarding the downtime, we’ll update the article to reflect the changes.

Hell Let Loose Update 1.047 Unleashed for Patch 18 Hotfix 1

A few weeks ago, Expression Games released Update 18 for Hell Let Loose, which saw the Stalingrad refresh alongside a host of bug fixes and tweaks. As is the case for most big patches, there are bound to be issues that manages to creep out.

Today, the developers have released Hell Let Loose update 1.047 (complete version 1.047.000), which is the game’s Patch 18 Hotfix 1.

The patch includes general bug fixes pertraining to enemy flares, the Artillery Strike and a lot more. For the complete changelog, read on to see what Expression fixed.

Hell Let Loose’s Oct. 21 Update Rolls In Patch 1.047

Hell Let Loose Update 1.032

General Bug Fixes

  • Enemy flares can be seen on the tac-map by the opposing team
  • All Recon Tanks and Half-Truck wheels can not be repaired with a blowtorch
  • Killed In Action screen shows an issue when killed by environmental fire
  • Kubanka hat has incorrect ribbon model and colouring
  • Panther tank has a very difficult time dealing with terrain variance
    • Addressed reports of collision inconsistencies and reduced performance with the Panther. Adjustments have been made to the vehicle’s suspension behaviour and physics collision system to align its performance with its original specifications.
  • Artillery Strike can trigger the “Rain Hell” achievement
  • Artillery Strike ability can take out spawn points
    • The commander artillery strike ability can no longer destroy garrisons
  • Tank skin preview can be seen through geometry to all players
  • The recoil on the Luchs is excessive, making it difficult to aim as an autocannon
  • Following the implementation of the new tank knockback, the Luchs experienced excessive recoil due to its high rate of fire. Adjustments have been made to the recoil and knockback force to restore proper control during rapid fire.

Artillery Strike Balance Adjustments

  • The commander artillery strike ability has had several balance changes:
    • The strike zone radius has been slightly increased, making the shots less accurate
    • The number of shells that fall has been decreased from 16 to 12
    • The munition cost per placement has been increased to 125
    • The cooldown time has been increased to 430seconds
  • On top of this, the model used has been adjusted and the smoke trail removed.

Armor Tank Balance

  • Following playtesting and community feedback, it was determined that tank handling was not performing as intended, particularly in higher gear ranges. The balance between applied braking and thrust during steering has been adjusted to deliver a smoother and more responsive experience.
  • To continue the Armor update, all tanks have undergone suspension and physics collision updates. These adjustments aim to reduce issues with vehicles becoming immobilized on uneven terrain or smaller objects, particularly those located directly beneath the tank. This change is a part of an ongoing effort to enhance Armor and provide a more consistent driving experience for future updates.

Gameplay Balance

Following player feedback and testing, several gameplay balance refinements have been made:

  • Blowtorch Repair Speed: Increased slightly, improving repair efficiency on all tank components
  • Anti-Tank Launcher Damage: Increased from 325 to 380. This adjustment preserves the same number of required hits to destroy tanks while heightening the threat level to Armor units
  • Anti-Tank Gun Damage: Increased from 350 to 400. This adjustment makes these weapons more potent against all tanks; particularly heavy tanks which can now be destroyed in fewer hits compared to the anti-tank launchers

I expect Expression to roll out another patch soon, which should address the performance and crashing issues currently troubling players. Once that’s live, it’ll be here on MP1st.
