Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge New Gameplay Revealed, Coming to Switch

Get ready to say Cowabunga if you love TMNT and own a Switch, as Dotemu and Tribute Games have confirmed at Nintendo’s Indie World presentation that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch — with a new gameplay trailer released to give fans of the series a true nostalgic beat ’em up to look forward to!

Here’s the new gameplay trailer released by the developers themselves!.

Via press release, here’s the overview of the game — which takes inspiration from the classic 1987 animated series many turtle fans grew up with.

Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games in partnership with Nickelodeon today announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is bringing its classically inspired brawling action to Nintendo Switch. The news was part of Nintendo’s Indie World presentation and follows previous confirmation of the game coming to PC.
During the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Tribute Games Co-Founder Jean-Francois Major and Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert confirmed the heroes in a half shell are chasing the Foot Clan to Switch before sharing new gameplay. The Turtles unleash radical special moves and gnarly combos in the footage, bashing foes throughout areas reminiscent of classic TMNT games such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. Catch the side scrolling action by viewing the gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GemOAwU-9fo
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge’s lively battles are backed by original music from Tee Lopes, a composer and arranger previously featured in Sonic Mania, League of Legends, and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom among other releases. A sample of Lopes’ wickedly energetic melodies can be heard in today’s gameplay trailer.
Inspired by the Turtles’ iconic 1987 design, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge brings New York City’s most righteous ninjas to life with gorgeous pixel art that’d look right at home in your favorite retro arcade. From showdowns with infamous rivals like Bebop and Rocksteady to returns to signature locales like Dimension X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a bodacious celebration of classic TMNT beat-em-ups with its own modern touches.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge joins two retro gaming experts: Dotemu, the developer and publisher known for faithful ports as well as impeccable remakes and continuations of beloved gaming series including Streets of Rage 4, the smash hit nominated for Best Action game at The Game Awards 2020, as well as the upcoming Windjammers 2 and highly lauded Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap; and Tribute Games, the studio behind retro-themed original IPs including Panzer Paladin, Flinthook and Mercenary Kings which embody the spirit of classic games in new experiences. Tribute Games also houses key talent behind the acclaimed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game beat-em-up and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game released for Game Boy Advance in 2007.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge was announced last month for consoles and PC, but was just confirmed for the Switch. No release date has been announced by Dotemu for the game yet.

How to Move PS5 Games to External HDD to Make More Console Space

In case you missed the big news today, Sony released a new firmware update for the PS5 that added the ability to store PS5 games on an external hard drive. If you are wondering how this is done, we here at MP1st have prepared a short guide, detailing how to move PS5 games to an external HDD.

How to Move PS5 Games to External HDD

Honestly it’s not a very complicated process. To get started, all you need to have is an external HDD that supports USB connectivity. We recommend an external HDD that supports USB 3.0 as the speeds are far faster in terms of transfer rate. A external SSD is also one we recommend, but if it’s cost purposes definitely a USB 3.0 supported drive. If you are using one already for PS4 games this same one will also work. You PS5 also has to be up-to-date on the latest software. More information about updating PS5 software can be found at the official PS5 Software update page.

Step 1: Plug in your external HDD and allow the system to format the drive. If you are already using this drive on the PS5 for PS4 games then you will not need to format.

Step 2: Now that your drive is properly formatted, you can now begin copying PS5 games over to it. To do this, navigate to the system settings and then go to storage, select console storage, and finally select games and app.

Step 3: From this next menu, you will want to hit R1 to move to the “Move PS5 Games” tab. You will get a small warning that the games are only playable on the internal SSD. Acknowledge it and now you can freely pick whatever PS5 game you want to move over. Easy peasy!

Why Move My PS5 Games to an External HDD?

One of the biggest reasons you will want to move some of your PS5 games to an external HDD is because it can save you a ton of time from having to redownload said games. Due to the limited amount of space on the PS5 built-in SSD, users have had the tough choice of deleting old games to make for new ones. Issue with this is, if you want to play an old game you have to redownload it and depending on your internet speeds that can be an all day (or more) thing.

Copying from an external HDD to internal is significantly faster than redownloading.

Can I Play PS5 Games Off an External Hard Drive?

At the time of writing, there is no support to play PS5 games off an external hard drive, nor is it likely to happen. Unlike the Xbox Series consoles, the PS5 only supports internal SSD. There is an expansion slot, but Sony has yet to allow additional storage space to be added.

How Do I Move PS5 Games Back to PS5?

It’s the same process as above, only instead of selecting console storage you pick the USB extended storage option. A “PS5 Move Game” option is located in the storage option.

That’s all there is too it! Hope you guys enjoyed this guide and learned a bit!

Returnal Hostiles Trailer Introduces Players to the Various Enemies in the Game

Prepare for some intense battles ahead on an alien planet that doesn’t let you die easily, as Housemarque has released a new Returnal Hostiles trailer that introduces players to the various enemies that will be seen in the game.

Check out the trailer below as released by PlayStation themselves.

Here’s the overview for the game as listed on the official PlayStation website.

After crash-landing on this shape-shifting world, Selene must search through the barren landscape of an ancient civilization for her escape. Isolated and alone, she finds herself fighting tooth and nail for survival. Again and again, she’s defeated – forced to restart her journey every time she dies.

Through relentless roguelike gameplay, you’ll discover that just as the planet changes with every cycle, so do the items at your disposal. Every loop offers new combinations, forcing you to push your boundaries and approach combat with a different strategy each time.

Brought to life by stunning visual effects, the dark beauty of the decaying world around you is packed with explosive surprises. From high stakes, bullet hell-fuelled combat, to visceral twists and turns through stark and contrasting environments. You’ll explore, discover and fight your way through an unforgiving journey, where mystery stalks your every move.

Designed for extreme replayability, the procedural world of Returnal invites you to dust yourself off in the face of defeat and take on new, evolving challenges with every rebirth.

Returnal has already gone gold in the past few weeks, and is scheduled to be released exclusively on PS5 this April 30.

The House of the Dead Remake Comes to Nintendo Switch Soon

One of the most iconic rail shooters of the 1990’s is getting an unexpected revival and reboot, as Forever Entertainment SA and Megapixel Studio SA have announced the House of the Dead remake — and it comes to the Nintendo Switch platform pretty soon!

Check out the debut trailer for the remake below.

Courtesy of Nintendo.com, here’s an overview of the game and what to expect from it.

The House of the Dead: Remake is a remade version of the game introduced in 1997 in arcade platform. A classic arcade rail-shooter receives a whole new entourage and gameplay changes to suit modern gaming standards.

Key Features

  • Hordes of the undead monstrosities in a fast-paced rail-shooter.

  • True to the original gameplay.

  • Well know arcade classic with modern graphics and controls.

  • Multiple endings.

  • Up to two players.

Based on the 1996 game that was first released by SEGA in arcades, The House of the Dead is a two-player game that sees players fight hordes of zombies and monsters using guns, with the story unfolding through chapters as you beat down enemies through a linear path and progress through after defeating them. It’s basically Time Crisis meets Resident Evil, and like the latter game this helped popularize the zombie and horror themed video game genres of that gaming generation.

Speaking of horror themed games, Resident Evil’s newest installment RE Village has new screenshots up — including a portrait of one ofthe antagonists of the game Mother Miranda.

[unitegallery ps5updateapril14first]

Version: 21.01-03.00.00

  • You can now store PS5 games in USB extended storage.

    • To play PS5 games that are in USB extended storage, go to your game library, and copy the game to console storage from the options menu. Copying games is faster than redownloading them. It’s also faster than reinstalling them from the disc if the game on USB extended storage has add-ons or has been updated.
  • You can now enjoy Share Play with players on PS4. Use Share Play to invite your friends on PS4 to watch you play a game, or even hand over control to them.
  • We’ve added zoom to our accessibility features. Use zoom to magnify what’s on your screen. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display > Zoom to enable this feature.
  • We’ve added Disable Game Chat Audio in the control center under Sound. If you turn on this setting, your voice won’t be heard, and you won’t hear other players’ voices in game chats. This setting doesn’t apply to party voice chat audio.

    • We’ve separated videos and broadcasts under the Shared tab for easier browsing.
  • You can now manage all the games you follow by going to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Manage Followed Games. This allows you to unfollow games without having to navigate to the individual news posts or game hubs.
  • For displays that support the HDMI device link feature, you can now enable or disable one-touch play and power off link individually. Go to Settings > System > HDMI to change these settings.
    • When one-touch play is enabled, turning on your PS5 console will also turn on your connected display.
    • When power off link is enabled, turning off your connected display will put your PS5 console in rest mode.
  • You can now set the country or region in the parental control settings for PS5 console users and guests who haven’t joined or signed in to PlayStation Network.

    • Games you hide on your PS4 console will also be hidden on your PS5 console.

Other updated features

  • We’ve added the following features to saved data management:
    • When you start or resume a PS5 game, your console will check for newer saved data in cloud storage. If you have more recent saved data in cloud storage, you can choose to sync the data.
    • It’s now easier to manage your saved data directly from the home screen. When you open the options menu for a game, you’ll now see Upload/Download Saved Data and Check Sync Status of Saved Data.
  • We now support more emojis.
  • In Trophies, we’ve updated the following:
    • You can now access screenshots and videos taken the moment you earn a trophy. Select a trophy you’ve earned to see related media.
    • You can now choose which grades of trophies you want to save trophy screenshots and videos for. To change these settings, go to Settings > Captures and Broadcasts > Trophies.
    • Now when you select a hidden trophy, you can press the square button to quickly show hidden information.
    • You can now go directly to a game’s trophy list from a trophy card by selecting Go to Trophies in the options menu.

    • You can now view your trophy stats by pressing the square button on the Trophies screen.
    • Now when you sort your trophies by rarity or earned date, the trophy cards will show the rarity or earned date information.
  • If you install this update, Enable Chat Transcription in accessibility settings will be turned off. If you want to use the chat transcription feature, turn this setting back on.
  • In the multitasking feature for cards, we’ve updated the following:
    • Now when you focus on the multitasking icon on a card, you’ll see hints about the multitasking modes that are available: picture-in-picture, pin to side, or both.
    • We’ve added a button guide to show you how to interact with a card that’s currently in multitasking mode.
  • You can now see your wireless controller’s battery percentage in the control center.
  • In the game or subscription hub, you’ll now see promotional offers that are currently available, including those for PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and EA Play subscribers. To view the options that aren’t displayed in the hub, press the … (more options) button.
  • When playing a game you’ve hidden by selecting Hide your games from other players in your privacy settings, other players will no longer see information about the game you’re currently playing next to your online status.
  • Some PC monitors that can display 1080p/120 Hz now support 120 Hz display for games. If you’re having trouble viewing your game at 120 Hz, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output, and then turn off Enable 120 Hz Output.
  • We’ve added the option to switch the video output to non-HDR when using a game or app that doesn’t support HDR. To change this setting, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > HDR.
  • We’ve made updates to the system software to improve stability and performance.

Instruction to update via USB (if not using internet connection on PS5) : https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps5/system-software/

  • Store PS5 Games on Compatible External USB Drives.* With this feature, you can now transfer your PS5 games to USB extended storage from your console’s internal storage. It’s a great way to extend the storage capabilities of your PS5 console, and you can seamlessly copy your PS5 games back to the console’s internal storage when you’re ready to play. It is faster to reinstall PS5 games from USB extended storage than to re-download or copy them from a disc.
    • Because PS5 games are designed to take advantage of the console’s ultra high-speed SSD, PS5 titles can’t be played from USB extended storage. PS5 titles also cannot be directly downloaded to USB extended storage. However, games that you transfer or copy back to internal storage will automatically update when applicable. In addition, you can select which game modes you want to install (such as campaign or multiplayer) for select titles that support the option.
    • For tips on using USB extended storage on PS5, including storage device requirements, please visit: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/ps5-extended-storage/.
  • Cross-generation Share Play. PS4 and PS5 players can now Share Play together while chatting in parties. This means PS5 console users can let their friends on PS4 consoles view their game screen, or even try out the PS5 games through Share Play, and vice versa. Options include the ability to share your screen with a friend, pass your controller virtually to a friend, or pass a second controller virtually to play co-op games together.
  • Request to Join Game Session. A selection of your friends’ joinable game sessions will now appear on both PS5 and PS4 consoles, allowing for more gameplay opportunities together. The “Request to Join” option also serves as a shortcut to sending a game invite, reducing the time it takes for you to get into games with friends. Through the Privacy Settings menu, you can modify who can interact with you through parties, games and messages.
  • Improved Game Base. The Game Base menu has been improved for quicker access to important content and features. You can now easily switch between Parties and Friends to start chatting with your existing parties or see what each of your online friends is up to. In addition, you can turn notifications on or off for each of the parties you’re in.
  • Disable Game Chat or Adjust Players’ Volume. You can now quickly disable in-game chat, which turns off your mic audio and the voice audio of other players. Additionally, you can easily adjust the individual voice chat volume of other players in the same chat so you don’t have to ask your friends to lower or increase their mic volume each time.
  • Game Update Pre-download. Once it’s enabled by developers, title updates for games will pre-download to your console if the “automatic updates” setting is enabled and your console is on or in rest mode. This will let you start playing the latest version of a game immediately after the update’s release.
  • Customize Game Library. With the ability to search your library or hide games from view, it’s now easier to find content and personalize your view of your game library.
  • Screen Zoom. You can now adjust the magnification of the screen to suit your preference from the Settings menu.
  • New Trophy Settings and Stats Screen. The level of trophies that results in automatic capture of a screenshot or video clip can now be customized — so you can now choose to only capture and save images/videos of moments when you earn higher-grade trophies, like Gold or Platinum. We’re also introducing a new player Trophy Stats screen, where you can check out the summary of your trophy level and status at a glance.

We’ll get the text version of the notes once it’s available.

Update: Added the text version of the patch notes for today’s PS5 firmware update.

Watch today’s Gameplay Overview trailer for a deeper look into exactly what goes into Hood’s medieval multiplayer heists.

Assemble, infiltrate, battle and extract

Every game of Hood: Outlaws & Legends pits you and your friends against a rival group of four other players who are also aiming to steal the treasure. Over 475,000 Call of Duty Warzone Cheaters Banned This Week, Activision Going After Cheat Makers

It’s never fun to play a multiplayer game when someone is cheating. Unfortunately, there’s a ton of that in Call of Duty: Warzone. Activisio is aware of this, and has issued an update on what steps the company is doing. One big step announced is how over 475,000 Call of Duty Warzone cheaters have been perma-banned this week!

Cheaters are never welcome. To date, our security and enforcement team has issued more than 475,000 permabans in Call of Duty: Warzone. Yesterday’s large banwave was our seventh high-volume set of bans since February.

Additionally, the company has also mentioned how they are going after cheat makers, and those who sell accounts.

We also are tackling the commercial market of cheat providers and resellers. This includes suspicious accounts, which are farmed and often sold to repeat offenders. We recently banned 45,000 fraudulent, black market accounts used by repeat offenders.

Removing cheaters and taking away their ability to move to alternate accounts is a key focus for the security teams.

Activision has also announced that they have ramped up the fight in a few key areas:

  • Utilizing 2-factor authentication to make it harder to access new accounts simply to cheat
  • Ramping-up additional resources to support our security and enforcement teams
  • Increased frequency of high-volume banwaves in addition to our daily banning of repeat offending accounts
  • Improving regular communications and updates

Finally, on the subject of hardware bans, here’s what Activision had to say:

Some have asked if we issue hardware bans. We do issue hardware bans against repeat, or serial, cheaters. This is an important part of our effort to combat repeat offenders.

This is definitely a step in the right direction! Let’s hope more cheaters are weeded out soon.

In other Warzone news, don’t forget, an event is happening on April 21, which seems to be related to a big shakeup of the map.

Outriders Review – A Beast of an Anomaly

Merriam-Webster describes an anomaly as “something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified” or as a “deviation from the common rule.” Anomaly is somethng you’ll hear quite a lot in Outriders due to its story, but the word is apt for the game itself, as it’s a peculiar style of looter shooter, though one that should feel familiar to a lot of gamers who played some of the game it’s inspired by it.

By all intents and purposes, Outriders is an anomaly to the genre simply because it’s fun, doesn’t feature any microtransactions, nor promises of “live service” content, which is what gamers are used to for titles similar to it (Destiny, The Division, etc.). While this is Outriders review will cover a lot about the gameplay, grind and whatnot, don’t expect us (me) to talk about the same stuff we discussed in our demo impressions.

Outriders Legendary Weapons

Altered Reality

In most looter shooters, players have come to expect a few things: the loot grind, an ever-evolving endgame, loads of bosses and mobs to kill, and some type of microtransasction currency. I’m happy to say that Outriders doesn’t feature any kind of microtransaction (at least for now), though the game seems suited for it.

Outriders feels like a complete boxed experience; by this, I mean that the game has a beginning, middle, and an ending, and doesn’t really try to hook gamers into a live service offering (since the devs have repeatedly said it’s not a GaaS title). This honestly feels refreshing, since players can jump in, experience what the game has to offer, and jump out. That’s it. However, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do once you beat the main campaign, as there are Expeditions in the game that scale up in difficulty, and where the best gear in the game can be obtained (more on Expeditions later in this review).

While the story might have some cliche stuff thrown in, I enjoyed it for the most part. Sure, you’re the “savior of the world” again, as is in most RPGs and whatnot, but at least your character has their own personality. There are even some surprising stuff regarding the story as well, which we won’t spoil. It’s not the most original story in any medium, but it’ll be enough to get most gamers hooked to know just what’s happening in Enoch, its inhabitants, and so on.

Familiar Grounds

Let’s not beat around the bush when it comes to Outriders’ core gameplay: it heavily borrows from established franchises like Gears of War, Destiny, The Division, Warframe and more. While it is noticeable in some aspects, PCF has managed to craft their own spin on things for the most part.

Outriders Demo Update 1.07

Outriders won’t win any rewards for originality, but when the core gameplay loop is this much fun, it doesn’t need to.

Sure, there are cover like in any traditional third-person shooter, but the game has you focus on going aggressive more than anything else to build back health. There are different tiers of loot, but the reliance on just getting legendary weapons and calling it a day won’t work, as there are lower class weapons that are better in some areas, and it’s up to the player to decide whether they want to level up that said weapon, improve its rarity, and so on, though that means you’ll be spending a lot of in-game currency to do this. It’s the simple things that make Outriders stand out, as you don’t feel cheated out of your time since the game just throws a ton of loot/gear in your face. While the majority of these said loot will be scrapped or sold, you won’t feel cheated that much given you’ll need all your resources if you want to do well in the shooter’s endgame.

Given People Can Fly’s history with shooters, it’s no surprise that the shooting mechanics in the game feel excellent. The different guns all feel distinct in their own right and smacking an enemy around with a hail of bullets feel very satisfying. Factor in how there are loads of mods that give your guns and armor added abilities, the playstyle and class builds player can craft are endless.

In addition to the gunplay, armor and mods, Outriders also features a good slate of abilities for each class. While you can only use three skills at a time, the powers and classes all feel different enough that players will need to strategize on how they’ll approach each mission (or side-mission) in order to be the most effective. Players will feel powerful, and an actual “Altered” when playing the game, and it’s not just because you have loads of guns at your disposal, but rather, the stuff that you can do seem otherwordly, and appear overpowered when taken at face value. Thankfully, the game’s AI is more than up to the challenge. These assholes will flank you, rush at players, snipe with precision, and just be a pain in the ass that you’ll sometimes feel it’s unfair. People Can Fly knows this, which is why they built in “World Tiers” into the game. Find an encounter annoyingly hard? Lower the World Tier so you can make mincemeat out of ’em! Once you’ve properly leveled up, obtained better gear, then you can hike the World Tier back up. World Tiers are also tied into gear rarity, so there’s an incentive to push for the hardest difficulty as you can.

Sprinkle in two or three-player co-op into the mix, and you can just guess how fun the chaos is. Combining powers on targets, coordinating which skills to use and when adds a layer of depth to Outriders that feels empowering. You can finish Outriders by yourself, but make no mistake: this was made as a co-op game, and it thrives in those situations.

Outriders Demo March 5 Update

Rough Riders

While players might feel powerful whenever they unlock a new power, or obtain a new weapon, they’ll quickly fall back to earth given how many enemies are thrown at players in almost every encounter. Sure, there are some braindead mobs to clear out, but for the most part, the game’s AI is commendable in how enemies will flank players, rush, snipe, and just simply try and overwhelm players with the amount of on-screen enemies all gunning/rushing for your head. It feels unfair sometimes, but I’d rather have that than just clearing through rooms with ease given how stupid the AI is.

Unfortunately though, while the AI is to be commended, the game’s other technical achievements aren’t on the same level. At the time of this writing, players are still plagued by sign-in issues, disconnects, loading problems, crashing and loads more. It’s been over 10 days since the game launched (the initial 2-3 days of launch was riddled with server issues), and there are even new issues surfacing. While I do feel that PCF will eventually be able to sort it all out, it’s still hard to swallow all these — especially for people who bought the game at full price, and were expecting a AAA experience (that works) out of the gate.

Outriders Demo

Another thing to point out is how some stuff just feels unpolished. Selling or scrapping gear takes longer than needed given how sometimes the game won’t recognize you pressing the right analog stick down, and while you can group scrap items depending on rarity, there’s no way to lock equipment, so the chances of accidentally scrapping gear is high.

While Outriders is mostly a linear affair, there are loads of side missions to cover which grant oodles of loot. Unfortunately, the in-game map is possibly one of the worst I’ve seen in any game. Forget about having an active marker showing where you are in the map in real-time, but even which direction you’re looking at (pointed in) isn’t there, either. This leads to frustrating situations since the game’s objective marker sometimes glitches and doesn’t show where you need to go, or some side missions glitch out where you can’t even properly track them.

If that wasn’t enough, there is no in-game communication tool. Sure, the game offers crossplay, but try and talk to your friend playing PC. Me and my friends literally had to open a separate messaging app on my phone, and use that for comms, which feels downright silly that PCF didn’t develop a way for gamers to talk across all three platforms.

Exploring the Endgame

Beating Outriders and its side missions will clock in around 40 hours give or take, which isn’t a small number by any means. However, beating the game opens up Expeditions, which is the game’s endgame loop. You’re going to once again move up in tiers, and doing so will net you better loot, and will inch you closer to the Eye of the Storm, which is the mode’s final challenge.

There is currently no word on whether we’ll get any new Outriders DLC, or if more Expeditions are planned, but what’s there is adequate enough to give players more opportunities to personalize their gear, and unleash their new weapons and abilities on tougher enemies. I admit, it’s fun grinding the different Expedition skirmishes in order to potentially score legendary gear, and to earn Drop Pod points which is the endgame’s new currency for buying new stuff, and  leveling up guns and armor past the campaign’s level cap. It’s a nice little diversion, but once you beat the Eye of the Storm, that’s about it. People Can Fly has not promised any new seasonal content, DLC, or other stuff players can chew on, though I suspect given how many people are playing the game, that new content is an inevitability.

Outriders’ endgame pretty much consists of fighting tougher enemies, so you can upgrade your gear in order to fight more tougher enemies, and so on. Mind, this is the same loop for games like Destiny and The Division, though those games do have seasonal content to keep things fresh.

outriders new gameplay

Landing on Enoch

At its core, Outriders is a pretty fun game — though one riddled with technical issues, which I’m hoping will get resolved soon. However, when you’re not experiencing these said tech malfunctions (which has been the case for me since sometime last week), the game is loads of fun, and easily worth the price of admission even if there’s no promised post-launch content.

If you’re a fan of looter shooters like Destiny, The Division, then you’ll feel right at home in Enoch. And when you factor in that there are no microtransactions, have friends to play with, then Outriders is going to be a must-play for you. Tech issues aside, Outriders has been the most fun co-op experiences I’ve had in a long while in games, and even playing solo, there is a certain Diablo-ness to its loot grind that will have you keep coming back for more.

Square Enix and People Can Fly have managed to pull off an anomaly — as it managed to successfully craft a proper looter shooter from the ground up, where companies like EA have failed with the likes of Anthem. While Square Enix’s lofty ambitions for a multiplayer-centric game might have failed with Marvel’s Avengers, the publisher can now breathe a little easier as it has a bonafide franchise in its hands, and I for one, cannot wait to see what People Can Fly has planned for Outriders’ future.

Note: While my experience has been relatively pain-less since the launch server issues, I know that’s far from being the norm. If you’re experiencing it (server disconnects, inventory wipe, etc.), feel free to dock a point. That said, outside of the server and tech issues, the game’s core gameplay is fun, and that’s where it earned the score.

Score: 9/10

Pros:

  • Satisfying gunplay
  • Addicting loot grind
  • Meaty single-player campaign with a solid endgame mode
  • AI is challenging
  • Scales well for beginners to veteran shooter players (thanks to the World Tier system)
  • Will make you feel powerful with character abilities

Cons:

  • Server and sign-in issues galore when it launched (and it’s still happening from time to time)
  • Some annoying design choices that we’re hoping gets patched
  • No cross-platform mic support
  • No promises of post-launch content support

Call of Duty Warzone Event Teased for April 21; Looks to Be Nuke-Related

Leaks, rumors, and teases have been running for over a year since the launch of Warzone, but now it seems like we finally have a date as multiple streamers have been sent a mysterious packages, teasing the Warzone Nuke Event for April 21.

In a Tweet made by longtime streamer Drift0r, he posts a video showing off a new package he received. In it, we see a hard helmet with Verdansk Dam marking and a gas mask symbol, along with a small letter issued for Call of Duty Warzone.

The message reads:

Once the hostiles reach here, we levee a guess that Verdansk is all but gone to the damned. April 21st 12PM

Now we aren’t 100% if this is the nuke event that has been speculated since the release of Warzone, though it does seem like a pretty good chance. Rumors suggest that once the Nuke event is over, a new Warzone map will be released, possibly a 1980s’ themed version of Verdansk. This would tie it up nicely with Black Ops Cold War given the time period.

Coincidentally, we do know that Treyarch does have an update currently in QA for Black Ops Cold War as it has been uploaded to PSN for the PS5 version of Black Ops Cold War. This update has yet to go live.

Chances are this update will coincide with the April 21 event, and judging from the size it’s a pretty sizable one. We should be hearing more on this real soon as we inch closer to the date.

A storm’s a brewin’, Tenno. But where there’s risk, there’s Ghostly reward! Void Storms have been detected rolling through the Proxima. Supercharged with Void energy, boarding parties and Point of Interest enemies caught in these conditions are subject to Void Fissures – perfect for Void Relic opening! As the storm brews outside, brace yourself for Void Sinks on board your Railjack. These Void Sinks can deal damage to your Warframe if touched – shoot them to destroy!

Bring your Railjack Crew or your squad to open Relics, earn Intrinsics, and grofit with rewards! On top of your earned Relic reward, Void Storms offer their own goodies upon completion. May the Void be ever in your favor!

Veil Proxima: Axi Relics: Play here to open Axi Relics and earn their rewards!
Veil Proxima Void Storm Rewards: Notable rewards in addition to your Relic items include pieces of Sevagoth the Warframe!

How do Void Storm rewards work?

Void Storm missions are directly similar to Void Fissure missions, where you’re tasked with completing the objective while also collecting enough Reactant.

All on-foot enemies are subject to becoming Corrupted from Void Fissures. Boarding parties, Point of Interest enemies, Crewship enemies, etc once Corrupted can all drop Reactant needed to open your Relic. Reactant is a shared pickup for Void Storms! Since Railjack requires Tenno to coordinate across multiple environments simultaneously, we felt that having shared Reactant pickups would help squads open Relics in a co-op friendly way.

Upon mission completion, you’ll be rewarded with your earned Relic reward, as well as an added item from the Void Storm drop table itself.

UPDATE 30 FEEDBACK & BUG REPORTING SUB-FORUM

https://forums.warframe.com/forum/1780-all-platforms-feedback-bug-reporting/

Railjack Changes & Fixes:

  • Increased Affinity reward for each Orphix to scale between 1,000 to max of 2,000 at level 60.

  • Railjack Earth Proximas Iota Temple, Ogal Cluster, Korm’s Belt, and Bendar Cluster now have a guaranteed Point of Interest.

    • Point of Interests are needed for Void Storm gameplay to ensure Void Fissures spawn to collect Reactant.

  • Sigils can now be equipped on Crew mates via their Appearance screen.

  • Added more unique Railjack Crew descriptions.

  • Fixed endless Affinity gain from Crew Repairs by sitting in a mission and allowing the Railjack to take damage while your Crew cleans up. Affinity granting Repairs from Crew mates now has a cap of 20 per mission.

  • Fixed Corpus Railjack Fighters endlessly spawning, resulting in exploitive farming.

  • Fixed the new Railjack Armaments (Glazio, Laith, Talyn & Vort) at any Tier only returning 25 Endo when Scrapped.

    • Upon login, players who sold the Glazio, Laith, Talyn, or Vort Armaments will receive the respective Endo difference per Tier up to a maximum of 40,000 Endo returned (roughly equal to 200 Armaments Scrapped). Our reasoning for the cap correlates to the Corpus Fighter spawn exploit that was used to endlessly acquire items, including Armaments.

  • Fixed Host migration while streaming into a Railjack mission resulting in an infinite load tunnel

  • Fixed Necramech’s not counting as being inside the Capital Ship airlock, which is needed to continue the mission.

  • Fixed various functionality issues related to being outside the Railjack as the Operator.

  • Fixed enemies not spawning and Capital Ship Turrets not firing during the weak point destruction phase of the Volatile mission.

  • Fixed objective marker for Point of Interests occasionally remaining active after completing it.

  • Fixed missing Railjack loading tunnel and incorrect skybox for Clients who load in faster than the Host.

  • Fixed On-call Crew members not attacking or repositioning when in Melee range of an enemy.

  • Fixed Railjack Crew assigned to the Pilot position not staying near the Corpus Capital Ship after approaching it and having to destroy the scan points.

  • Fixed becoming stuck in the Railjack load tunnel when attempting to start a Sanctuary Onslaught mission while in the Railjack Star Chart.

  • Fixed Clients experiencing the screenshake and sound effect of Void Hole when cast by the Host.

  • Fixed Necramechs not despawning in the Railjack when returning to the Dry Dock.

  • Fixed description for Railjack Drift Maneuver on controller being incorrect.

    • Instead of reading “press & hold LS to drift” it now properly reads “Tap LB while boosting to drift”.

  • Fixed momentary black screen occurring when viewing your Companion loadout while in the Arsenal in the Dry Dock.

  • Fixed issue where the names of Elite Corpus fighters in Veil Proxima were appearing as TARO instead of ORM.

  • Fixed getting pushed out of the Corpus Crewship and into Archwing when standing under a moving elevator within the Crewship.

  • Fixed Clients not seeing the visual dash FX of Corpus Elite Fighters.

  • Fixed Aurax Polaris & Aurax Culveri Moas counting for “Demolyst Killed” in the End of Mission player stats screen from Corpus Railjack missions.

  • Fixed Crew mate Transmissions affecting other NPC Transmissions.

  • Fixed the Railjack Gox always colliding with itself and causing a direction change when moving fast enough forward.

  • Fixed Sentinels equipped with Vacuum sucking in items that can’t be used when Piloting the Railjack.

  • Fixed Primary/Secondary crosshair being overlapped with the Melee crosshair in the Dojo after returning to the Drydock from a Railjack.

  • Fixed Intrinsics text in the End of Mission screen being squished together.

  • Fixed a script error that could occur in rare cases when returning to the Relay Dry Dock.

  • Fixed a rare script error that could occur if you entered the Railjack loading tunnel just as Stalker or a group of Syndicate Assassins arrived.

  • Fixed a script error when a Client interacts with the Plexus on the Hosts Orbiter.

  • Fixed a harmless script error that could occur when aborting from specific types of Railjack encounter.

New Codex Fan Art

b5e0d209df2128287198f7b091791457.png
In anticipation of the Call of the Tempestarii Update, we commissioned 5 of our official Warframe Creator Fan Artists to create pieces that are now live in the Fan Art section of the Codex! Use any Display in your Orbiter to decorate with this stunning artwork.

Optimizations:

  • Improved networking performance for all platforms.

  • Made optimizations towards the Grattler FX that were affecting GPU time.

    • We’ve also scaled down the Grattler projectile size to further improve performance.

  • Made a micro-optimization when opening the Invite panel.

  • Made micro-optimizations to some core engine code.

General Additions:

  • Added Somachord Fragments for a special tune (avoiding spoilers here) from Call of the Tempestarii.

    • Find these Fragments in the Call of the Tempestarii Quest! If you miss them during your first run you can replay the Quest from the Codex!

Changes:

  • The Clan Dojo Room Limit of 128 is now visible for Dojo Architects. This limit always existed but was never exposed to the player, which could cause confusion when building/destroying rooms.

  • When viewing the Dojo Transporter menu, the room you’re currently in will appear faded out with an arrow next to it to indicate that ‘YOU ARE HERE!’.

    • d00418007c50b51c7b7b15eb9be968dc.png

  • Khora’s Whipclaw line of sight checks are now a little more generous.

    • To quote [DE]Ruu’s post: No longer will small rocks or detailed floor geometry block Whipclaw’s explosion! Enemies that hide behind cover will not be hit by Whipclaw if you hit the front of the object that enemies are hunkering down behind. However, if you strategically hit beside them, you will vanquish your foes.

  • Brood Mothers maggots now spawn less and less frequently the longer they’re alive to mitigate exploitive gameplay.

  • Removing unreleased Corpus Captura Scenes from nonexistent crates (as shown in the public drop tables).

  • Acolytes will no longer spawn underwater in Submersible Steel Path missions due to the water killing them instantly. They haven’t learned to swim yet.

Fixes:

  • Fixed Eximus enemies no longer having drops due to the recent move of Oberon & Ash Blueprints to Railjack.

    • For now, Eximus drop tables will reflect their normal variants. We’re experimenting with some other potential drop avenues and making improvements to Eximus overall on the heels of this change.

  • Fixed scenario where you could force the Acolytes to spawn in a Cambion Drift Steel Path mission at level 30 instead of the intended Steel Path level 100+.

  • Fixed scenario where dying while in Voidrig’s Guard Mode could prevent player movement.

  • Fixed enemies unable to target Titania when Reave (via Helminth Subsume) is cast while Razorwing is active.

  • Fixed Melee Guidance not being affected by Aura Strength Mods. This was causing Ash’s Blade Storm clones (also likely Mirage & Equinox clones) to give you temporary Melee Combo Duration buffs from their auras.

  • Fixed Deimos Captura Scenes found in hidden areas under Deimos not being Sellable or Tradable.

  • Fixed incorrect wording for the Deimos Heart Captura Scene description.

  • Fixed Halikar Wraith not having the correct Riven Disposition.

  • Fixed inability to Chat Link the Halikar Wraith.

  • Fixed Necramech and Archgun Affinity gained not displaying for the Host player if Necramech was dead at the time of mission completion.

  • Fixed ally Specters getting stuck in perpetual weapon swap animations.

  • Fixed World State Window always displaying that there are 5 Steel Path Incursions, despite completing some/all.

  • Fixed Zephyr getting stuck in her Divebomb animation when going through a Sanctuary Onslaught portal.

  • Fixed Mission Progress screen showing incorrect amount of Standing earned after completing a Bounty phase.

  • Fixed the Nautilus Wings Sentinel Attachment not respecting chosen Energy color.

  • Fixed typing while Extracting from a mission causes text to appear both in the Chat and the End Of Mission rewards search bar.

  • Fixed incorrect ingame Market icon for the Baza Prime Stock.

  • Fixed missing breed type for Vasca Kavat Imprints.

  • Fixed text in the Leverian dioramas being very difficult to read when using a light UI Theme (ie. Nidus, Orokin, Tenno).

  • Fixed the Imperator Festive Syandana attaching to Octavia Prime’s back, not her neck like the other Imperator Syandanas.

  • Fixed audio issues with the Morgha Alt Fire.

  • Fixed audio issues with the Halikar Wraith.

  • Fixed a script error occurring during the Vox Solaris Quest when attempting to detonate the K-bomb.

  • Fixed a script error when casting Mirage’s Sleight of Hand ability.

  • Fixed script error related to the Sentient omnidirectional laser attack.

  • Fixed a harmless script error that could be caused when a Chesa Kubrow attempts to Neutralize an enemy.

That’s about it for this major title update.

New Strategy Game “Gord” Announced, Will Be Released in 2022

Get ready to embark on a new fantasy journey from a new Polish game studio that’s totted as a new strategy experience, as Covenant announces Gord — a dark fantasy game that will be released some time in 2022.
Here’s the announcement trailer from the developers themselves.
Via press release, here’s the description and key features you can expect from the game.
Gord is a single player, adventure strategy game featuring developing societies, eerie forbidden lands, and remarkable mythical creatures. Players complete quests and manage a populace whose personal stories and well-being impact the fate of the settlement.
Key features:
  • Adventure strategy in a dark fantasy setting – Lead the people of the Tribe of the Dawn as they venture deep into forbidden lands and ensure the survival of your populace in a grim fantasy world inspired by Slavic folklore.
  • A unique city-builder with survival elements – Grow your gord from a humble settlement to a formidable fortress while your population is constantly at risk from enemy tribes, gruesome monsters, and mysterious powers that lurk in the surrounding woods.
  • AI-driven quest system to ensure lots of variety – Side quests and random encounters will send you off into the wilderness to hunt down legendary creatures, uncover secrets about the Ancients, or vanquish a nasty scourge.

In addition, Square-Enix has also released details and info on

SQUARE ENIX® today revealed exciting new details for FINAL FANTASY® VII INTERGRADE, the enhanced and expanded version of the critically acclaimed and award-winning FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE on the PlayStation®5 (PS5™) console. The team revealed the official title for the new episode featuring Yuffie as FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, and introduced new information on the episode’s main character, Yuffie Kisaragi, as well as the talented English voice cast behind the new characters for this new episode.

Players can look forward to utilizing Yuffie’s signature battle style in combat while they infiltrate the shadowy Shinra Corporation to steal a powerful materia and restore glory to her homeland, as she shines in both close and long-range combat. As a member of Wutai’s elite corps of ninja operatives, her Unique Ability allows her to throw her iconic massive throwing star at enemies. During that time, she is able to attack with long-range ninjutsu that can be augmented with her Elemental Ninjutsu ability, which can change its affinity to fire, ice, lightning or wind.

Another of Yuffie’s abilities, “Banishment,” unleashes an attack that does more damage based on how much ATB was spent before it. Similar to her Unique Ability, its elemental affinity can be changed with Elemental Ninjutsu.

Yuffie can also use “Windstorm,” which creates a damaging gust of wind that damages nearby enemies and launches them towards her. Players can look forward to learning even more about Yuffie’s specialized ninja fighting style and enjoy an expanded gameplay experience featuring multiple new combat and gameplay additions for FF7R EPISODE INTERmission.

Alongside Yuffie and Sonon, additional characters were introduced for FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, including Zhijie, a Wutain who acts as the point of contact between the new Wutaian government and Avalanche HQ, members of Avalanche HQ—Nayo, Billy Bob, and Polk, and Weiss, the sadistic ruler of Shinra’s top-secret underground research center Deepground.

SQUARE ENIX also announced the talented English voice cast behind these new characters in FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, including:
