Report: Call of Duty 2020 Multiplayer Details Leaked – Mini Map Returning, 150 Health & More

While rumors and even actual early gameplay have surfaced surfaced for this year’s Call of Duty, Activision has still not announced it — which is unheard of given we usually hear about each year’s Call of Duty in May. Well, fortunately for us, leakers won’t let us down, as new Call of Duty 2020 multiplayer details have surfaced today.

This latest batch of Call of Duty 2020 multiplayer details come from YouTuber Xclusive Ace, who’s probably one of the best Call of Duty YouTubers around, and generally doesn’t post any baity or fake stuff. In short: we trust his report on this, which is why it’s on the site.

You can check the video or read up on our summary below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNj0xEmaxJ4&feature=emb_logo

Call of Duty 2020 multiplayer details:

  • Set in Cold War (no official title confirmed to him)
  • Codename is Zeus internally
  • Targeting end of Q3 release date (earlier than usual) or early Q4
  • Game is in pretty good state; multiplayer maps are done.
  • Campaing fully playable, but not all animations are complete
  • Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone is part of it
  • New Warzone map will be included
  • Standard mini map is back (red dots returning) in its current state, but could easily change before launch
  • No fog of war in mini map (like in Black Ops 4)
  • Compass in Modern Warfare is returning
  • No mounting/leaning mechanic
  • Sliding is in but no dolphin dive
  • Swimming is in, which is in MP maps and Warzone.
  • Standard sprint, no tactical sprint, unlimited sprint is back
  • No doors in MP but will be in Warzone
  • Ace has seen nine out of the ten maps that should be available at launch.
  • Map design is more Treyarch in nature, but some are big and not three-lane. Current map names known are: Mall, Satellite (middle of desert), Tank, Tundra, KGB (fairly small)
  • No Specialists, but something like Field Upgrades is returning and you can charge it up twice (hold up to two at once). Some examples mentioned are Crash’s (from Black Ops 4) ammo box, and a SAM turret-like unit that shoots down streaks
  • There will be regular equipment in one slot (doesn’t recharge). Some examples include: combat axe, concusson, semtext, flash, frag, molotov, and the more.
  • Scorestreaks are back! Some samples of streaks: bow, artillery strike, chopper gunner, gunship, hand cannon (like Seraph’s), flamethrower,  controlled missile, death machine, grenade launcher, light attack chopper, RCXD, sentry gun, UAV, Counter-UAV, napalm strike, strafing plane
  • No Dead Silence in the game currently. No idea on footsteps sounds yet.
  • 150 health (like in Black Ops 4) but will have auto-heal/
  • You can see your health bar (in current state)
  • Confirmed guns are: AK5, SPAS-12
  • Hybrid Create-a-Class and Pick 10 from Treyarch.
  • No Gunsmith
  • Wildcards will be back
  • No Prestige system evidence yet (doesn’t confirm that it’s not coming back though)
  • 6v6 not 5v5
  • No Gunfight mode, but have playtested a 3v3 mode
  • No full-fledged Ground War mode, but they have a mode that takes place on various sections of the Warzone map
  • Ace has an image of the new Warzone map and will take place in Russia

Given that the Call of Duty 2020 multiplayer details above are obtained from an early and unfinished build of the game, things are subject to change, so bear that in mind before judging on the stuff leaked.

Hopefully, Activision will formally announce this year’s Call of Duty soon.

Modern Warfare Recoil Patterns for Assault Rifles Detailed

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been out for quite some time now, Infinity Ward has been adding guns to the game throughout its life span. Given how assault rifles are by far the most popular gun in the game, some might be curious how the Modern Warfare recoil patterns work for the assault rifles, and we’re here to help.

Thanks to Reddit user NotMegatron, here’s a quick but detailed view of how each recoil pattern is for the assault rifles released for the game so far. Note that these recoil patterns are presented via their base values (meaning no attachments at all).

As you can see from the spray pattern, some guns are a lot harder to control. Having said that, the attachments to control recoil do help a lot, and as such, doesn’t mean that the gun with the worst recoil is the “worst” one.

In your opinion based on your experience, which gun is the best in terms of having the least amount of recoil? Personally, I’m used to the recoil pattern of the RAM-7 and Kilo, though I know most people prefer the recoil pattern of the M4.

For those looking to complete the gun reticles, we’ve also posted a guide about that which even includes pictures of each reticle type.

MLB The Show 2020 Update 1.14 June 26 Patch Pitches Out

Sony San Diego Studios or now known as SIE San Diego Studios has released the MLB The Show 2020 update 1.14 June 26 patch. In addition to the patch notes, SIE San Diego has also given an update on the Summer Circuit as well, which you can read below.

MLB The Show 2020 update 1.14 June 26 patch notes:

Here’s the official post from SIE San Diego:

Thank you for following the MLB The Show 20 Summer Circuit! Your feedback is important to us and we are taking steps to deliver an authentic tournament experience for everyone participating. We were happy to see a smooth matchmaking and team-building experience for the qualifier, but there were some issues to we would like to acknowledge:

First and foremost, we have been working with ESL and have made sure the difficulty settings are correct moving forward. Starting with the 2nd Qualifier on 6/27, difficulty will be set to Hall of Fame and we have ensured that tournament gameplay sliders are uniform for all players (Update 1.14 – see below). Also, the issue that prevented matches from being properly reported and stopping some users from continuing on in the qualifier has been resolved.

Second, we are adding a 6th Qualifier starting August 4th where the top 8 winners will be eligible to compete in the Grand Finals.

Lastly, starting with the 3rd Qualifier on 7/11, start times will be 12pm PT / 3pm ET.

Update 1.14 includes a fix for the bug that caused “My Sliders” settings to carry over into Tournament games, and is set to deploy at 3 AM PT on 6/26/2020.

If there are more changes included in this patch, we’ll update the post.

No Man’s Sky Update 2.55 June 26 Patch Soars Out

Hello Games is continuing their fantastic post-launch support for No Man’s Sky, as the No Man’s Sky update 2.55 June 26 patch has just been released on all platforms. As far as we know, there are no new content included in this patch, but more for fixes than anything else.

No Man’s Sky update 2.55 June 26 patch notes:

Hello everyone,

Thank you to everyone playing the Crossplay Update, especially those taking the time to report any issues they encounter via Zendesk or console crash reporting.

We are listening closely to your feedback, and have identified and resolved a number of issues. These fixes have been combined into patch 2.55, which will be live on all platforms today.

Patch Notes

  • Fixed multiplayer connections on Windows 7.
  • Crossplay players now show a different icon depending on their platform.
  • Fixed PS4 friends showing a gamemode icon when playing in non English languages.
  • Fix for crossplay friends not being joinable if they are in a group.
  • Updated matchmaking rules to form lobbies of the correct size.

Given we just got the big No Man’s Sky crossplay patch a few weeks ago that included a ton of gameplay changes, it’s understandable that this one only includes big fixes and nothing more. Nonetheless, if you spot any changes included that’s not listed in the No Man’s Sky update 2.55 June 26 patch notes, share ’em below in the comments.,

Arc System Works has released Dragon Ball FighterZ update 1.24, which brings performance improvements and a few fixes and currency adjustments.

The update is currently available on the PlayStation 4(135mb),  Xbox One (6.5GB?), and Steam (4GB), with the Nintendo Switch version hopefully going live shortly. Down below you’ll find the full patch notes

Dragon Ball FighterZ update 1.24 patch notes:

  • Adjusted BP value changes in Ranked Matches.
  • Fixed issues with fighting mechanics
  • Updated replay data version (replay data from older versions cannot be played).
  • Improved game performance and Stability

About the game:

DRAGON BALL FighterZ is born from what makes the DRAGON BALL series so loved and famous: endless spectacular fights with its all-powerful fighters.

Partnering with Arc System Works, DRAGON BALL FighterZ maximizes high end Anime graphics and brings easy to learn but difficult to master fighting gameplay.

High-end Anime Graphics
Using the power of the Unreal engine and the talented team at Arc System Works, DRAGON BALL FighterZ is a visual tour-de-force.

3vs3 Tag/Support
Build your dream team and sharpen your skills to master high-speed tag combinations.

Thrilling Online Features
Ranked matches, interactive lobby, crazy 6-player Party Match… There is something for every taste!

Exclusive Story Mode
Discover a never-seen-before scenario featuring Android 21, a brand new character whose creation was supervised by Akira Toriyama himself.

Spectacular Fights
Experience aerial combos, destructible stages and famous scenes from the DRAGON BALL anime in 60FPS and 1080p resolution!

A rather minor update, though we aren’t sure which fighting mechanics have been fixed. The game is apparently undergoing maintenance at the moment as well, so checking how much the BP has changed in ranked matches is not known at this moment. We’ll be sure to update this post if we do learn of any additional changes, and it would be helpful if anyone can point them out in the comments below.

Is the Destiny 2 Cold Denial Ornament an Upgrade or a Downgrade?

Destiny 2 has a huge number of collectibles for players to gather over the course of their time with it. One of the best collectibles out there are weapon ornaments, which act like special skins for certain weapons, and they have to be unlocked through quite a bit of work. One of these skins, the Cold Denial Ornament known as Dark Waters, seems to completely change the way you aim down sights with the weapon, but there are no actual changes to gameplay.

This fact was pointed out in a recent post on Reddit by user Vykromond, who also posed a pretty important question, “is the Cold Denial Ornament an upgrade or a downgrade for you?” As I’ve already mentioned, the Ornament completely changes how you aim down sights with Cold Denial, just look at the comparison below to see for yourself.

cold-denial-ornament

It doesn’t take a genius to see that, for some reason, your Guardian holds their head closer to the sight with the Ornament on. But really this should make the red dot in that sight much larger, whereas in reality it makes it so much smaller.

Of all the sights available for weapons in Destiny 2, I find red dot sights to be the most useful. while they don’t have the best range on them, they do accurately pinpoint your enemies, and I always find that they tend to provide a bit of a speed boost while aiming down sights. With this weapon Ornament though, the red dot is reduced in size so much that you may as well be using a scope with a longer range, it’s more than a bit confusing.

As I have already pointed out, the advantage of a red dot sight is a faster move speed while aiming down sights, and a big red target that highlights when you should fire. While standard red dot sights don’t have great range, it’s possible that here we’re seeing a potential upgrade. On the one hand, with the Ornament attached you get to see your enemies in more detail and might notice things off in the distance that you wouldn’t have otherwise. On the other hand, the smaller red dot sight makes it much harder to identify when you should fire, rendering its functionality almost inert.

I would say that if you’re a Destiny 2 player who adores Pulse Rifles, then you can probably cope with this Ornament. The weapon’s rate of fire is unaffected, and the range and spread of shots is usually generous enough to ensure that you’ll land at least one bullet with each pull of the trigger. If you’re the type to stay back from a fight and take pot shots, this Ornament is going to be a nightmare. It’s great for watching fights, but no good for actually being in one, and you can’t tell when you’ll hit something because they’ll have moved by the time they’re under your newly shrunken red dot.

Of course, this might simply be a bug, an oversight on Bungie’s part. The developer has been working remotely since mid-March, and it would be no surprise to anyone to see something close to a bug making it through the cracks. I would say that the red dot sight on the Ornament looks like a bug, especially when you can see it next to the standard sight.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Dauntless Update 1.31 June 25 Unleashed

Developer Phoenix Labs has released the Dauntless update 1.31 June 25 patch, and it’s full of gameplay fixes and changes. Expect monster tweaks, performance improvements and more.

Dauntless update 1.31 June 25 patch notes:

Behemoths:

THRAX

Slayers are taking down Thrax faster than we expected, so we’ve made some balance changes to extend the length of the encounter, while making part breaks more attractive.

  • Thraxes have increased health, but their limbs are easier to break.
  • Thraxes are less likely to become stuck outside the arena.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause Thraxes to disappear after the portal train attack.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause wounding not to work on Thraxes.

RIFTSTALKER

  • Fixed a bug that caused Riftstalkers to lose their hitbox when leaving a portal.

NAYZAGA

  • Fixed a bug that could cause Shadowtouched Nayzagas to lose their hitbox after using a portal.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause wounding not to work on Shadowtouched Nayzagas.

QUILLSHOT

  • Fixed a bug that could cause players to get stuck inside a Quillshot.
  • Improved the side-spinning shooting attack to better sync the animation with the damage.
  • Fixed an issue where broken quills wouldn’t change to the broken texture.

CHARROGG

  • Charrogg lava balls will now explode if they fall off a cliff, instead of becoming stuck.

KOSHAI

  • Shadowtouched Koshai projectiles are no longer missing materials on consoles and PCs with low detail settings.

POWER ADJUSTMENTS

As we continue to tune the early- to mid-game progression, we’ve found that the power/difficulty curve is leaning a little too heavily into difficulty, so we’re adjusting the power and threat levels of a host of regular and Dire Behemoths.

  • Skarn: Power level 120 (down from 140)
  • Skraev: Power level 140 (down from 150)

Borderlands 3 Update 1.14 June 25 Out, Adds DLC and Phase 2 of Mayhem Mode

Gearbox Software has released the Borderlands 3 update 1.14 June 25 patch that adds campaign DLC (paid), and phase 2 of Mayhem Mode! Check out the full list of changes below.

Borderlands 3 update 1.14 June 25 patch notes:

NEW CONTENT:

  • Added support for Borderlands 3’s third campaign add-on: Bounty of Blood!

Due to complications related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, only English and German voice-overs will be available at launch for Borderlands 3’s third campaign add-on Bounty of Blood. Localized subtitles for all supported languages will be available at launch, and localized voice-overs will be added at a later date.

  • Increased the level cap by 3 to 60
  • Added 3 New Guardian Rank skills and Guardian Rank Increase

– Groundbreaker: Melee or Slam attacks will trigger an Aftershock, dealing 25% of all non-melee damage you have dealt over the last 5 seconds
– Dead Man Walking: While not moving in Fight for Your Life, your meter drains 50% more slowly.
– Lead or Alive: When you enter Fight for Your Life all your guns are automatically reloaded

STABILITY

  • Addressed a reported crash that could sometimes occur during the mission “The Family Jewel” in Floodmoor Basin
  • Addressed a reported concern where the game could become unresponsive after alt-tabbing out on PC
  • Addressed a reported crash that could sometimes occur when the host backed out to the Main Menu

MAYHEM MODE

  • Added Mayhem Level damage scaling to melee, slide and slam
  • Added Mayhem Level skill damage scaling
  • Added Mayhem Level pet damage scaling
  • Added Mayhem Level vehicle damage scaling
  • Updated several passive skills to properly respect Mayhem Level damage

The damage sources above now scale their damage according to the level of Mayhem you are in. Each type of damage is scaled uniquely to account for how different skills and gear interact with the different types of damage.  This is significant change and we will be monitoring the community’s feedback intently and adjust gear, skills, or damage scaling to ensure that build diversity flourishes. To accommodate this scaling, a few passive skills were updated to use a new form of damage that prevents them from scaling inappropriately.

  • Added skill damage as a rollable stat on Class Mods

Class Mods now can roll additional Bonus Skill Damage.  When paired with the base Mayhem Level skill damage scaling, we anticipate builds centered on skills to become viable in late Mayhem.

  • Added Mayhem Levels to Grenade Mods

Grenade Mods drop as weapons do in Mayhem, with additional damage relative to the Mayhem Level it was acquired in.

  • Enabled all sources of loot to spawn Mayhem Gear

Mayhem Gear can now be acquired from all sources of loot in the game.  Vending machines, chests, mail, mission rewards, and Loot enemies all have a chance to award Mayhem Level weapons and grenades.

  • Changed damage source for Remnant, Short Fuse, Indiscriminate, Do Unto Others, and Ties That Bind to address that they “double dip” and scale inappropriately at higher Mayhem levels

As a result of this change, players will notice that Ties That Bind will not scale properly with Action Skill damage. This is a temporary fix that will be addressed in a future update.

  • Vehicles now scale damage uniformly instead of just against non-vehicles
  • Addressed a reported concern where splitscreen players could sometimes not scroll through the Mayhem 2.0 modifier list
  • Addressed a reported concern where Mayhem Modifier Drone Ranger Healing Drones sometimes did not replicate position smoothly for clients
  • Addressed a reported concern where the tether from the Boundary Issues Mayhem modifier would sometimes persist after enemies died
  • Addressed a reported concern where the Mayhem vehicle damage scalars sometimes did not apply when players were in gunner seats
  • Addressed a reported concern where the Laser Fare Mayhem modifier would sometimes generate new laser beams when it took damage
  • Added the ability for DigiClone and Iron Bear to support damage scaling

GENERAL

  • Addressed a reported concern an issue where vehicle health would sometimes be cut off
  • Nativized Hotfixes

Borderlands 3 Update 1.14 June 25 HOTFIXES

To apply hotfixes, wait at the main menu until you see a sign that says “Hotfixes Applied”! If you are experiencing any issues or want to provide feedback, please submit a ticket to support.2k.com.

GENERAL

  • Melee and Action Skill damage further increased

Borderlands 3 Update 1.14 June 25 WEAPON ADJUSTMENTS

We are looking at adjusting manufacturers and weapon types across the board to bring greater parity at the base level between weapons. We are still monitoring balance between Legendary gear but wanted to first address groups of weapons to increase opportunities for weapon builds.

All pistols will see a slight increase with JAKOBS pistols receiving the smallest bump and MALIWAN pistols receiving the largest. As enemy health pools increased, low mag size weapons like pistols became less popular. The damage increase across all pistols should provide more opportunities for builds to equip a pistol to accommodate their other weapon choices.

We also increased damage of all TEDIORE SMG weapons because we believed the damage from the thrown weapon explosion would be an integral part of the loop. However, throwing the weapon was impractical compared to shooting enemies with other SMGs. Now the trade-off to throwing at full magazine versus shooting will be more dramatic.

COV, DAHL, and JAKOBS Assault Rifles were increased to match some of the VLADOF Assault Rifles. We will evaluate VLADOF Assault Rifles in totality after players try the changes to the other manufacturers first.

Finally, we increased the damage of our traditional multi-pellet shotguns. HYPERION, MALIWAN, and JAKOBS all received a damage increase. Some of these shotguns were underperforming compared to fast-firing weapons so now they will pack a greater punch.

  • Increased pistol damage across all manufacturers
  • Increased damage on Tediore SMGs
  • Increased damage on COV, Dahl, and Jakobs Assault Rifles
  • Increased damage on Hyperion, Maliwan, and Jakobs shotguns

BOUNTY OF BLOOD HOTFIXES

These hotfixes are related specifically to the Bounty of Blood campaign add-on. To receive the changes and avoid seeing any of these issues arise, make sure that you have your hotfixes applied at the main menu.

  • Removed two straggler townsfolk that were clapping their hands at the wrong time
  • Addressed a potential progression blocker where FL4K the Beastmaster was sometimes unable to grab an important ledge
  • Stopped Juno from sometimes getting stuck on a walkway
  • Addressed instances where cash registers would sometimes float

Regardless if you bought the new campaign DLC or not, the Borderlands 3 update 1.14 June 25 patch should affect your gameplay experience in some way.

How Mahjong Has Evolved to Permeate the Games Industry

Mahjong is a game that seems to be everywhere. From tabletop board game versions and PlayStation 4 adaptations, to free Mahjong games that you can play online today. This game seems to be ancient, and many do believe that it is about 2,500 years old. But how did this game manage to make it into the games industry?

While there are those that think this game is thousands of years old, and link it to Confucius and his love of birds, the oldest historical record to mention one is from the 1880s. Researchers who have studied these records say that the game originates from the 19th century, in provinces of Kiangsu, Chekiang near Shanghai, and Anhwei. Researchers also link the rules of Mahjong to another popular game called Mah-tiae, otherwise known as Hanging Horse, which uses the same tile set.

The game spread through China in around 1905, and a traditional rule set was popularised. First, the four Wind Tiles are placed on the board, and players then draw one to determine where they will sit at the board, usually around a square table, North East, South, or West. Once this is decided, players draw 14 tiles, and then need to arrange them on the board into four sets, plus one pair. The rules are somewhat similar to Rummy, in that you can place three sets of identical tiles, a ‘pung’, or three tiles of the same suit in sequence, a ‘chow. Before the game begins, 17 tiles are arranged around the board, two tiles deep in front of each player. This is a ritual that is said to ward off cheaters, since Mahjong is a gambler’s game.

At the start of the 20th century, the game spread beyond China, and new rules began to develop. As the game spread, collectors and clubs popped up in places like Shanghai and Japan. The amazing artistry of Mahjong tiles appeals to collectors, as well as the material that older tiles are made of, sometimes bone, ivory, and bamboo. Today they are mostly made of wood, ceramic, or plastic. Each set of tiles contains 136 separate tiles, made up of 36 circles, bamboo, and characters, with 12 Dragon Tiles, and 16 Wind Tiles. Certain sets have four additional Flower and Season Tiles as well.

At some point in the 1920s the game spread to England and America, and soon after The Official American Rules were born, and these are probably the ones that have been used in most digital Mahjong games. These are the rules that most purists believe to be the best and original, so it makes sense that gamers also use these rules.

Some of the first Mahjong games were for the Sony PlayStation. A series called THE Mahjong allowed players to experience the game without the need for three other players. While these were exclusive to Japan, Mahjong would see western video game releases. On the PlayStation 2 they were still very much exclusive to Japan, but they had stories with some animation to keep the player interested. With the PlayStation 3, Mahjong games released in all regions, allowing western gamers to experience this phenomenon on their consoles for one of the first times ever.

Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have digital Mahjong games that are available to play today. There’s even a VR version of Mahjong if you can believe it.

Mahjong is an incredibly popular game. It has conquered the world, and now it has even conquered our consoles. As we move into a new console generation, I can’t help but think that Mahjong might be one of the first real next-gen exclusives that makes the most of the increased power on offer.

Minor New Content and Features

  • Alongside improvements made to Path of Exile’s engine, we have changed the post-processing settings so that two specific ones are separately exposed: reducing the intensity of the new Bloom effect and disabling Blur effects (such as those played when transitioning into or out of an Incursion).
  • We have also improved how Screen Shake effects (such as those played on a critical hit) are handled, toning down the wild variance and ensuring you can always still see the action. This new screenshake can be disabled in options if desired.
  • Added 2 new Rogue Exiles, designed with the help of our talent competition winners.
  • Added new Labyrinth enchantments for both new and reworked skills.
  • Improved the visual effects of a number of player and monster skills, including Earthquake, Firestorm, Ground Slam, Ice Crash, Creeping Frost (previously Arctic Breath), Perforate, All Warcry skills, Sunder, Molten Strike, Tectonic Slam, Incinerate, Arc, Herald of Ash, Arcane Cloak, Armageddon Brand, Orb of Storms and Lightning Warp.

  • Continued to incrementally improve the sound, art, effects and environments.

Delirium Mechanics Added to the Core Game

  • Delirium has been added to the core game. From the Torched Courts onwards, you’ll have approximately a 5% chance to encounter a Mirror of Delirium in each area. Once you reach the Atlas, that chance will increase by a small amount for each other league, atlas or master mechanic that appears in that area. In other words, if your goal is to encounter Mirrors of Delirium then you are encouraged to use your Zana modifiers, master missions, sextants, and whatever else you have available to you!
  • You’ll now have a greater chance of finding Cluster Jewels through Delirium

Character Balance

  • The Shakari God Power no longer makes you immune to poison. It now causes poisons on you to have 50% less duration, and prevents you from being poisoned while there are at least 5 poisons on you.
  • Hexproof now acts like an Immunity effect when gained (such as via Headhunter), and will remove any curses already present on you when gained.
  • Dual Wielding no longer grants 20% more physical attack damage. It still grants 10% more attack speed and 15% chance to block attack hits.

Skill Reworks

Warcries

  • Greater support for Warcries has been added to the Passive Skill Tree in the form of new and changed clusters, and even a new keystone.
  • Warcries no longer share a cooldown by default. All Warcries now have a base use time of 0.8sec, and their effects tend to linger for a greater duration. Their base cooldowns are also now longer.
  • Each Warcry is enhanced by the proximity of enemies, and for some warcries, allies or corpses too. This is measured as ‘Power’, with Normal enemies providing 1 Power, Magic enemies providing 2, Rare enemies providing 10, Unique enemies providing 20, and players providing 5. All Warcries also taunt enemies in range.
  • Warcries all now cause a certain number of attacks to become Exerted after the Warcry is used (except Enduring Cry and General’s Cry, however the attacks done by the General’s Cry Mirage Warriors are Exerted). Exerted attacks are enhanced in different ways depending on the Warcry. Your Exerted Attacks can benefit from the effects of multiple Warcries, if the type of attack is valid.

Abyssal Cry (now Infernal Cry)

  • Now taunts all nearby enemies to attack the user, and exerts the next 4 melee attacks. It also covers enemies in ash, slowing them and making them more vulnerable to fire damage. Causes enemies to explode when they die, dealing fire damage in an area.
  • Exerted attacks trigger Combust, which converts 60% of Physical Damage to Fire Damage, and deals 100% Attack Damage in an area at gem level 1, up to 158% at gem level 20.
  • Now has a base duration of 5 seconds at gem level 1, up to 5.9 seconds at gem level 20.

  • Now causes you to regenerate 120 life over 1 second at gem level 1, up to 1976 at gem level 20.

Sunder

  • Now slams the ground, creating a slow wave of churning terrain that damages enemies in a sequence of areas in front of you. Enemies hit by the wave will release a damaging shockwave in an area around them. Using the skill again will stop the previous wave. Requires a Mace, Sceptre, Axe, Staff or Unarmed.
  • The wave creates 5 areas, and cannot stop before creating 2 areas.
  • There is a delay between areas the wave creates. The gem gains reduced delay between areas as it levels, up to 25% reduced delay between areas at gem level 20.

Passive Tree Balance

We’ve taken the opportunity with this patch to review the passive skill tree as a whole, with a few specific goals in mind:

  • We wanted to add support for mechanics that have been added in the past few years that as of yet do not have adequate support on the passive tree. Some of these mechanics include Rage, Unleash, Corpse manipulation, Warcries, Heralds and Banners.
  • Many passive skill clusters offered the same thing as other clusters, with the only differences being the location on the tree and the number of passive skills in the cluster. In this patch, we have endeavoured to give each cluster its own identity and function.
  • Timeless Jewel Keystone passives have become a popular feature for many builds, but are prohibitively difficult to acquire (especially without trade). We’ve moved some of the most build-defining Keystones out of the Timeless Jewels and into the tree itself. These Keystones have been added to the tree: The Agnostic, Glancing Blows, Supreme Ego, Wind Dancer and Eternal Youth.
  • We’ve also added new Keystones as part of our effort to support newer mechanics. These Keystones are: The Impaler, Imbalanced Guard and Call to Arms.
  • We also wanted to reduce the power of some clusters that were overly efficient, and increase the power of clusters that were inefficient. Ultimately, the passive skill tree should provide more interesting choices regardless of your build.
  • Due to the volume of the changes to the passive skill tree, we won’t be listing each change out. Instead, you can check out the new tree for yourself here.

  • Due to a number of changes making it much easier to reliably stun tough enemies, many bosses are now immune to stun while stunned and for a short time after the stun ends.
  • The base distance an enemy is knocked back by knockback effects is now based on the enemy’s size. Smaller enemies are knocked farther back than large enemies.
  • The Man-Tracker monster in Hunter Influenced Maps now spread their spit attacks out (rather than all spitting at once). It is now correctly categorised as an attack, and will be mitigated as such.
  • Monsters which deal extra Chaos damage (many of whom are encountered in a Breach) now say so beneath their nameplate. Note that this does not change the balance of these monsters.

Path of Exile update 1.50 June 24 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Thunderstruck notable caused all hits against Shocked enemies to knock those enemies back, rather than just critical hits.
  • Fixed a bug where items with a fixed number of sockets (such as Loreweave or Oni-Goroshi) could have the number of sockets reduced through the hideout crafting bench, but not increased. Now, the number (or, if the item specificies, colour) of sockets can no longer be affected by the crafting bench.
  • Fixed a bug where Orb of Storms’ hit frequency benefitted doubly from increases to cast speed.
  • Fixed a bug where Betrayal members on a Transportation job were teleporting too frequently.
  • Fixed a bug where brands hovered above Kitava’s head (and typically offscreen).
