Elite Dangerous Update 1.45 June 30 Released, Here’s What’s New

Frontier Developments has released the Elite Dangerous update 1.45 June 30 patch, and it adds fixes to stability and Fleet Carriers. Not only that, but there are other gameplay-related fixes included as well. Check out the full notes below.

Elite Dangerous update 1.45 June 30 patch notes:

Fleet Carriers

  • Setting a price for a commodity in the market management screen is now much faster.
  • Players can now use “-” when entering ship IDs.
  • Fixed an issue that placed Fleet Carriers in the barycentre when jumping to a binary system, even if space was present around the primary star.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause Fleet Carrier landing pads to be displaced.
  • Removed superpower faction logos from Fleet Carriers.
  • Fixed a bug which prevented SRVs from being restocked at Fleet Carriers.
  • Fixed the timing so that when transferring a ship to a carrier the “Incoming Message” audio now plays at the same time as the message arrives rather than immediately upon requesting the transfer.
  • Fixed a problem with stolen mission cargo getting stuck after being sold to a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed an issue positioning Fleet Carriers near stellar bodies with highly eccentric orbits.
  • Fixed some issues with bookmarking Fleet Carriers.
  • Fixed an issue with Limpets sometimes not being restockable at a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed an issue with Fleet Carrier shipyards incorrectly interacting with Powerplay control system effects.
  • Fixed an issue causing ship inventory numbers to be displayed incorrectly after selling items to a Fleet Carrier.

Background Simulation

  • Adjusted the way Retreat and Expansion conflicts are resolved: The Retreat state will now be overridden if another faction attempts to expand into the retreating faction’s star system by challenging them. The resulting conflict will still evict either the expanding or the previously retreating faction as normal

Mining

  • Surface and sub-surface deposits on asteroids will no longer immediately respawn when re-entering the instance or switching to a ship launched fighter.

Galaxy Map

  • Fixed an issue which stopped Squadron Bookmarks appearing.

Installations

  • Fixed an issue with combat bonds not being correctly awarded for scenario objectives when over four players contributed.

Commodities

  • Galactic average prices were updated.

Stability Changes

  • Fixed an Orange Sidewinder connection issue when dropping into an instance with a Starport and Carrier Vendor.
  • Fixed a crash when entering the Commodity Market on a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed a crash when entering Holo-Me customisation at a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed a crash when purchasing a Fleet Carrier and immediately viewing it in the galaxy map.

ARX

  • Fixed a bug which meant that selected Fleet Carrier paint jobs would be removed when entering an instance.

We’ll be on the look out for any new Elite Dangerous changes, and will let our readers know once we find any,

Modern Warfare Update 1.23 June 30 Patch Now Live, Brings Season 4 Update

As expected from yesterday’s announcement, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update 1.23 June 30 patch (or what the studio calls the June 29 patch) is now live, and it brings the Season 4 update! Infinity Ward calls this Season 4 Reloaded, and it brings a new weapon, new multplayer map, 200-player mathes in Call of Duty: Warzone and lots more.

For those wondering, yes, this includes the Grau assault rifle nerf that was previously announced. Note that this is a big download for all platforms clocking in at 22-36GB depending on your platform. Note that you can uninstall data packs (here’s how) to make the overall size smaller.

Modern Warfare update 1.23 June 30 patch notes:

WHAT’S NEW:

200 Player Warzone!

Verdansk will now be able to hold up to 200 players. Jump into Battle Royale Quads with 200 players!

Supply Run Contracts!

Upon activation, you and your squad (if applicable) will be directed to a nearby Buy Station. Reach it within the time limit to get a discount on Buy Station purchases.

Spotter Scope!

Think of this as a high-powered scope without the glint; this re-usable scope allows you to scan the environment around you and mark enemies without being detected. Perfect for scouting ahead, the Spotter Scope is a great tool for Operators who want to plan their next move while keeping a low profile.

DATA PACK DOWNLOAD:

Please note that the Season Four Reloaded update will have a download size of approximately 22-36 GB for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare. Console owners must install a secondary download of approximately 3.5GB, then reboot the game to access Multiplayer, if desired. A reminder, console players can choose also to uninstall/remove other data packs (e.g. Special Operations), if no longer needed for a smaller overall file size. For detailed information on uninstalling/removing other data packs, read this article.

Once the Season Four Reloaded update is fully completed, it should minimally increase the overall digital footprint of the full version of Modern Warfare.

Existing free-to-play Warzone players will have a download size of approximately 22GB-30GB, once finished there will be a reduction to the overall footprint on their machines.

Modern Warfare Season 4 Update Out Tomorrow, Bringing 200-Player Warzone Matches & More

Well, the reports are true! 200-player matches are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone! This was announced today by Activision as part of the Modern Warfare Season 4 update that’s due tomorrow, June 30! Alongside the new mode, there’s also a new map for multiplayer, new weapon and more.

The Modern Warfare Season 4 update release time is set for 11 .p.m. PDT/2 a.m. EDT! Check out the updated roadmap image below, as well as official details on the new weapon, map and more.

Modern Warfare multiplayer new map – Cheshire Park

Those who have the full Modern Warfare experience have a new locale to deploy to: Cheshire Park.

Located in urban London, England, Cheshire Park is a picturesque garden and conservatory where Operators will battle from door to door or through the central flora-filled area.

Take to the townhomes for long sightlines, the stores to capture objectives through intense CQB battles, or take to the side streets to take some shortcuts. If you dare, try to challenge those who may set up shop in second story windows, phone booths, front yards, or scaffolding.

Modern Warfare Multiplayer new weapn – Rytec AMR:

Snipers, meet the Rytec AMR.

This .50 caliber-chambered beast joins the three other weapons in the sniper rifle category and is yours to unlock via in-game challenge. A blueprint variant is also available to get through the Store via the ‘Lost Souls’ bundle.

Whether you need to lock down an objective in Multiplayer, lay waste to AQ in Co-Op, or take that cross-Verdansk shot in Warzone, the Rytec AMR is one of the deadliest semi-automatic anti-material rifles an Operator can get their hands on. Use the included picatinny rail to Gunsmith it out to the situation at hand and get back in the fight as your squad’s reliable sharpshooter.

Modern Warfare Multiplayer new mode – Team Defender:

Introduced nearly a decade ago, Team Defender returns to Modern Warfare as a fast-paced objective game mode that puts a twist on the traditional Capture the Flag formula.

Instead of both teams defending their respective flags, there is only one flag for a squad member to capture and hold onto. A squad earns a point for every second that one of their members holds onto this flag, which means defending the carrier is a must for victory.

Other than needing the flag to earn points, attackers will want to down the carrier for points, which will lead to games where both squads will frantically attempt to wrest control of the flag until the very last second in this pulse-pounding Multiplayer experience.

Call of Duty: Warzone new gadget – Spotter Scope:

Think of this as a high-powered scope without the glint; this re-usable scope allows you to scan the environment around you and mark enemies without being detected. Perfect for scouting ahead, the Spotter Scope is a great tool for Operators who want to plan their next move while keeping a low profile.

According to Activision, the Modern Warfare Season 4 update file size will be approximately 22-36GV for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare. Console owners must install a secondary download of approximately 3.6GB, then reboot the game to access Multiplayer. If you’re hard up on disk space, don’t forget that you can delete data packs of the game once installed.

Will we see the Grau assault rifle nerf included in tomorrow’s update? Maybe the Warzone Riot Shield bug? If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say yes, though don’t quote me on that.

Report: Ubisoft to Debut New Battle Royale Game Called “Hyper Scape” and Here’s the First Screenshot

According to leaked details, Ubisoft Montreal is getting ready to announce a brand-new triple AAA battle royale game called “Hyper Scape”.

According to reliable industry insider known as Slasher, Hyper Scape will be a free-to-play first-person battle royale game that’s said to be built with streamers and Twitch partners in mind. The title is supposedly going to be teased later today by Ubisoft, with a possible full announcement coming later this week along with plenty of gameplay from Twitch streamers. Down below you’ll find a supposed screenshot of the title.

Slasher states that Hyper Scape will be releasing this month with crossplay features launching later this year. This announcement by Ubisoft would certainly be a surprise as we have yet to hear any rumors of the company working on a battle royale title. It will be interesting to see how the reception is (if rumors are true,) seeing that the market is pretty heavy filled with battle royale title. The studio will no doubt have to do something creative or at least do enough to make this experience unique if it hopes to pull players away from current offerings.

Don’t forget, Ubisoft will be holding a digital event called “Ubisoft Forward” that takes place this July 12.

Blizzard Gives Diablo 4 Dev Update on Story, Multiplayer and More

The quarterly Diablo 4 dev update is here, giving us a behind the scenes look at the development of Diablo 4.

The Diablo 4 dev updates starts with the team explaining how they work with what they call “blackouts,” essentially a process of developing assets without actually completing them. This is done so that the team can focus on whether or not something is actually fun or works fro what they are trying to go for, without actually discarding completed assets. Down below you can see an example of a design going through concept, lockout, and then in-game art.

The Diablo team then touched upon some of the new storytelling methods that they are taking with Diablo 4. Rather than have the over-the-top traditional way with text-displayed, they will be a bit more complex. Scenes will now zoom in closer to offer a more narrative feel, as will there be more unique animations.

Additionally, the game will feature real-time cutscenes (or RTCs) where players will experience the story more like a movie in terms of storytelling. They will be in real-time meaning they will display whatever gear your character has, but also whatever graphic settings you have selected, creating a more seamless experience. Here are some beautiful screens showing just that.

As for those looking to the multiplayer side of things, the devs noted that this has been a rather challenging aspect, not in terms of technology limitations, but in terms of not making the world feel like some sort of massive online role-playing game. It’s for this that dungeons will remain as private for players and their parties, and no one will be forced to party-up with anyone should they choose not to. They note that when you complete stories and liberate camps, you would see more players, but it’s the world events where fans can expect to see large masses of players. Even then you can, solo players can participate without actually joining a party. This is all done to ensure that there is a seamless experience across Diablo 4 and to make sure it still feels like a Diablo game. For fans who are heavily focused on playing with others, they have confirmed that they have created new tools to help search for players. More details on that will be available later.

Progression was also briefly touched upon, though expect a beefier update on that later. For now, enjoy some screenshots of some of the drops players got during their playtests.

The Diablo teams close off by explaining why they are sharing these updates. Considering that Blizzcon has been canceled they feel these updates are important even if they have yet to reach the alpha or beta stages of development. They promise that more in-depth updates will be pushed out throughout the year. Pretty exciting stuff they shared that they have shared with us, really excited to see how well the multiplayer is implemented in Diablo 4 once it releases. Make sure to check out the officially released Diablo 4 gameplay footage to see how the game is shaping up as well.

Call of Duty Warzone Riot Shield Bug Being Looked Into, Realism Filter “in the Plans”

For those playing Call of Duty: Warzone, have you found using the Riot Shield in the game to be a wee bit broken? If so, you’ll be glad to know that Infinity Ward has acknowledged this Call of Duty Warzone Riot Shield bug, though there’s no confirmed date for when this will be out.

This was addressed by Co-Design Director of Multiplayer Joe Cecot over on Twitter, where a YouTuber conveniently showed a clip of the bug in action:

https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1276719733820153856

In addition to that good news, those who prefer playing multiplayer in Realism mode will be glad to know that Infinity Ward is looking into adding it as a filter in QuickPlay!

https://twitter.com/JoeCecot/status/1275614958714146816

While no release date has been specified for both, odds are that one of these (or both) will be rolled out the same time the Grau is nerfed — something Infinity Ward has confirmed is in the pipeline.

In other Call of Duty news, a ton of details regarding Call of Duty 2020’s multiplayer has leaked from a reputable source, and we have the goods!

Dying Light Hellraid Trailer Brings You to Hell

Announced last month, Techland is bringing new content to Dying Light with the Hellraid DLC! Curious? Here’s the first Dying Light Hellraid trailer to see what horrors are in store.

Check out the trailer now for DLC which is out this July 23.

Over five years after the release, Dying Light is getting an exciting DLC that’s bound to refresh your experience with the game. Get ready for an entirely new game mode based on our currently-on-hold first-person dark fantasy slasher Hellraid. That’s right – dark fantasy!

You might wonder how we tied the DLC’s significantly different setting to Dying Light’s post-apocalyptic reality. The answer to that question is a strange device found in the Tower’s basement after an odd power outage. It looks like an arcade machine but in fact it’s a portal between worlds. Use it and you’ll emerge in a grim fortress overrun by Hell’s minions.

To keep the hellish setting consistent, we’ve populated the stronghold with completely new demonic enemies and designed an array of fitting fantasy weapons to slay them with. Hellraid comes with its own progression system and you’ll have to improve your rank to unlock new swords, hammers, and axes. These are more than just pieces of equipment – they’re trophies. Each run through the dungeon will reward you with coins that you can spend to proudly wield Hellraid weapons in Harran. Every time you revisit the fortress, you’ll have a choice to increase the prize by picking up bounties. Whether you choose to test your skills alone or in co-op (up to 4 people), you’ll face a considerable challenge.

As for Dying Light 2, that game has been delayed with no firm release date just yet.

Warframe Hard Mode Difficulty Begins Testing This Weekend, Officially Called The Steel Path

Officially dubbed as “The Steel Path,” Digital Extremes has revealed that Warframe hard mode will begin it’s testing this weekend for invited players.

The Steel Path will be introducing new difficulty modes to Warframe that will give players the opportunity to replay both old and newer content, only at a far higher challenge. For now, they are running some public clusters and have opened up to inviting at least 1000 PC players. Steam will be required to participate in this round of clusters, and for those interested in participating you can do so by visiting this link: Public Test Cluster: Opt-in Key Lottery #2!

Here are the details on Warframe hard mode as seen on the official forums

What it is:

  • Higher Difficulty Series of content that rewards exclusive cosmetic decorations, emotes, and mastery.
  • An extra layer of opportunity for players to use their powerful gear to take on threats at a higher level without having to wait in missions for long periods of time.
  • A way to engage with some better scaling Affinity and Mod Rewards.

What it isn’t:

  • Intended to be associated with the nebulous ‘end game’ topic.
  • overly complicated in its goal to simply provide higher-level content and some exclusive rewards.
  • tiered. We are providing one 100+ level pass to be cognizant of matchmaking for our first iteration.

The Warframe hard mode was first announced early last month and has since then received several teases of it’s launch being near. With public testings now starting, chances are we will see the release of The Steel Path within the next few months. Of course, console players will eventually see this update, most likely shortly after it’s PC release. We’ll be sure to keep tabs on it’s development, but in the meantime, PC players be sure to sign-up for your chance to participate in the public cluster.

Marvel’s Avengers Free-Roam Explained, Players Will Be Allowed to Fly “Everywhere”

If you didn’t know this by now, Marvel’s Avengers game is not an open-world game. Instead, it opts for large hub zones that players will be able to complete main and side objectives along with a number of activities, including being able to free-roam in them. To explain what players can expect more, the game’s War Zone director, Philippe Therien opens up a bit on Marvel’s Avengers free-roam along with how characters can travel in the game.

Taking part in a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA), Philip confirmed that players will be able to free-roam between objectives, along with what kind of activities they can do.

Q: Are there going to be times where we can freely explore regions peacefully? Or is it just constant action?

A: In between objectives, you are absolutely free to roam as you please and look for points of interest around the level. These can be allies to rescue, bounty enemies, to defeat for loot, Hidden caches, secret AIM stockpiles of resources or you could raid AIM’s depots where they store gear! Typically those rewards are defended but you can roam around the environment without constantly fighting if you want to just admire the scenery or have fun doing traversal.

Q: When we deploy to a Warzone, how does it work? Will we be selecting a mission to pursue and then have free roam over the map until we complete the objective? Or can we select an option on the map to free roam the area without a mission objective? And can players split up from each other and go to different corners of the map on their own? Or do they have to stick together in a Warzone?

A: When you pick a mission and choose your hero, you will be inside that Warzone you selected until that mission is completed. You can explore up until the point where the final objective is completed, at that point we return to the Quinjet where you can select another mission.

Players can absolutely split up as they wish but keep in mind that if you go off alone, you could get overwhelmed by enemies!

Therien also confirmed that players can expect different types of regions, all while teasing that there are still more to come.

Region wise we will have Cities, Forests, Deserts, the Arctic, Underwater, In orbit and some others that aren’t revealed yet! Inside those regions you will see everything from wilderness to AIM structures and of course urban landscapes in cities.

Of course, with there being different heroes that can travel differently, one has to consider how they would balance things out as those who can fly could most likely reach an objective faster than those who can’t. Luckily Phil had an answer to this and confirmed that they have balanced the characters out in terms of speed when reaching objectives.

They are balanced to be able to cross the same distances in generally the same time with some differences of course but for those who aren’t flying they have acrobatic moves. Without giving too many spoilers…Hulk can jump, Widow has gadgets and Kamala…well she can stretch really good!

Along with this piece, he also confirmed that characters that can fly also aren’t restricted in terms of where they can fly (unless told otherwise), allowing players to even use flight mode while inside buildings.

You can fly everywhere including indoors and underground though the ceilings can be a bit lower inside you wont be forced to walk anywhere except for things like transitions between areas.

There you have it, that’s how Marvel’s Avengers free-roam works in the game. Are you glad to hear that they are ensuring a balance between the characters when it comes to movement? What about some of those free-roam activities? Don’t forget to check out the gameplay blow out this past week where we got to witness co-op gameplay, as well as a long gameply demo involving Thor.

Path of Exile Update 1.51 June 27 Released for Fixes (3.11)

Grinding Gear Games has released a fix-specific patch for Path of Exile that’s out today. Players will see this as Path of Exile update 1.51 June 27 patch, and it’s mostly for fixes. The studio calls this the 3.11 patch for the free-to-play RPG. Check out the full notes below.

Path of Exile update 1.51 June 27 patch notes (3.11)

3.11.0f Patch Notes:

PS4 Specific:

  • Fixed a client crash that would occur with Incinerate and Creeping Frost.
  • Made engine changes to mitigate against common client crash issues.

General:

  • Added highlighting to key words in Harvest crafting descriptions.
  • Fixed a bug where Wave of Conviction, when supported by Arcanist Brand, was hitting more often than intended against stationary monsters.
  • Fixed a bug where various objects (including enemies) could be invisible.
  • Fixed a client crash that could occur when using Ballista Totem Support.
  • Fixed an instance crash that could occur when opening map portals while using the Random Portal Variation setting.
  • Seed Caches in maps now drop more seeds than before, scaling up per map tier so that you’ll get double the number of seeds dropped from a Tier 16 map.
  • Weightings of crafting outcomes have been fixed and improved. Due to an error, many seed types couldn’t spawn certain rare crafting outcomes before level 80. The combination of these changes and the increased seed drops will result in seeing the rare outcomes more frequently than before, especially in higher-tier maps.
  • The difference in rarity of Tier 2 and Tier 3 seeds has been flattened, so you’ll see the rarer Tier 2 and Tier 3 seed types more often now. Their drop chance from Tier 1 monsters has not been changed, meaning the increased Tier 1 seed drops from higher-tier maps will result in more Tier 2 seeds, and by extension Tier 3.
  • Recently-hatched monsters are now resistant to damage. This will prevent you instantly destroying them with abilities you have prepared before the start of the encounter. This is now consistent with our other league mechanics that give you time to prepare.

Thats’s basically it for the Path of Exile update 1.51 June 27 patch. Earlier in the week, the studio released the big Harvest patch which you can read about here.

Report: Crash Bandicoot 4 Multiplayer Might Have Just Been Confirmed by PlayStation Store Listing

In case you haven’t heard the news, Activision announced Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time this last Monday. While the title is mostly seen as a single-player game, it would appear that the PlayStation Store may have accidentally confirmed that there will be some form of  Crash Bandicoot 4 multiplayer when it launches.

The store listing currently lists the game’s features, one of them being offline multiplayer with it being playable with up to four players. While surprising, this may hold some weight as the game does feature more than one playable character as seen in the reveal trailer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOGwx3Ju6QQ

Details from the PlayStation Store

*Available at launch.

Offline multiplayer (2-4 players)
Uses DUALSHOCK 4 vibration function
Enhanced gameplay on PS4 Pro console
Offline play enabled

There is also some mention of an online leaderboard and an Activision account being needed for it, though that could be a standard disclosure from Activision. Of course, take this with a grain of salt as it could very well be a mistake on the store listing. Still, is a Crash Bandicoot 4 multiplayer mode something players would want? Even if it is just local play co-op?

Hellpoint Release Date Coming Next Week, New Screenshots Released

Originally set to release in April, Cradle Games has announced that they will reveal the new Hellpoint release date next week. To help tide potential players, they have also released a new batch of screenshots and artwork.

The new Hellpoint release date will be announced next week on  July 2. We aren’t sure if we are expecting to see a new date trailer of some sort, but don’t be surprised if one drops the same day. Down below you’ll find some new screenshots and key artwork.

About Hellpoint

Hellpoint is set in the aftermath of a massive quantum cataclysm called the Merge. You wake up on board the Irid Novo space station, a beacon of galactic cooperation and scientific exploration gone horribly wrong. What happens next will be solely determined by your choices.

Key Features:

  • Occult space story: Blending science and fantasy, the intensely atmospheric dark sci-fi setting will keep you searching for answers.

  • Jump-in co-op and PvP multiplayer: Ask a friend to press Start to join a couch co-op session or call for assistance online. Hellpoint offers a full, uninterrupted co-op story with shared loot drops.

The title will be releasing on PC (Steam), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch. Report: Xbox Lockhart/Xbox Series S Teraflops and RAM Specs leak

While Microsoft has yet to announce whether or not the Xbox Series X would see an additional, less powerful, cheaper model, it would appear that some leaked documents have surfaced, detailing the Xbox Series S teraflops and RAM count.

The leak was first spotted by TheVerge, which points out a development mode called “Lockhart profiling mode”. According to sources close to TheVerge this mode is a part of the Xbox Series X development kit, which allows developers to hit the targets of Microsoft’s suppose second console. Additionally, the leaked documents hint at an undeveloped CPU, with 4 teraflops and 7.5Gb of accessible RAM. In comparison, the Xbox Series X sports a title of 12 teraflops with 13.5Gb of usable RAM, whereas the PlayStation 5 has 16GB of RAMand a little over 10 teraflops of power.

If the specs are true, this would appear to put it just above the Xbox One X systems, with obvious improvements in other areas. Chances are this console will most likely be targeting high fidelity in visuals and performance, but with 1080P to 1440P resolution in mind. The price will also be a major factor here, as while Sony is offering two versions of the PlayStation 5 that are nearly identical outside of no disc drive, Microsoft appears to be going a different approach by offering different specs. Whether they also go a digital approach with this version is remained to be seen, though if it’s about being cost-effective and consumer-friendly, we wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t have one.

Chances are high that Microsoft will most likely reveal this console during their Xbox Series X event next month. We’ll be sure to keep you all posted on any details as they’re revealed, but for now what are your thoughts on this rumored cheaper versions? What kind of price point do you expect to see? Let us know in the comments!
