Battlefield 1 New Dog Tag Designed by Fan Coming in Future Game Update, Here’s What It Looks Like

If you’re one of the many people who love collecting dog tags in Battlefield 1, you’re going to have another one to add to your collection as DICE has announced the winning design for its Battlefield 1 dog tag contest!

Over on Twitter, the design was shown off by the official Battlefield account where we can see a donkey chasing a gun on a stick. There’s a joke or something there, that I’m too dense to figure out.

The Battleifeld Bulletin Twitter took it a step further and placed the image in an actual dog tag in Battlefield 1.

If you don’t care about dog tags, you can check out two new Easter eggs found by the community that shows the “Battlefield Noob.” For actual gameplay content, there’s already gameplay footage of the upcoming BFI expansion, Turning Tides.

Do you like the design? Or were you expecting something more brutal? Once it can be obtained, we’ll be sure to let people know.

Gears of War 4 Updates Bringing New Maps & Xbox One X Support, Halloween Event Begins This Week

The Coalition is prepping a big update for Gears of War 4 scheduled to land on October 23. It’ll bring the final two maps to the game, Fuel Depot and Lift Apex, while also including support for the upcoming Xbox One X enhancements.

Here are the full details:

New Maps

Fuel Depot

That rush for Longshot in the trucks and that first dual sniper showdown is still as nailbiting as it was over 10 years ago – prepare to experience it all in a fresh light with the return of Fuel Depot to Gears 4!

Fuel Depot’s larger size provides ample opportunities to flank and catch opponents out in the open, while the warehouse gives Gnasher players a chance to shine with plenty of cover. The small windows of visibility offered by the warehouse shutters are still great for harassing your opponents with a Lancer – provided the enemy Sniper doesn’t take your head off first!

Fuel Depot Screenshot

Lift Apex

Lift Apex builds upon the spirit of the original by re-imagining the design of the map without the mechanics of a moving lift and expanding territory. Set in an Imulsion Extraction Facility right in the middle of the Serano ocean, this ocean-bound elevator introduces a faster and more tactical experience than its original inspiration.

The battlefield has been redefined in small and large ways that will change the fights you think you know – from the faster flow from spawn to the numerous cover changes that offer different solutions to tackle each part of the map.

Without the movement of the lift in play, the action is fierce from the second you leave spawn thanks to two immediately available Power Weapons and Frags to fight over. The submarine bay offers a new enclosed defensible position (which is also great for Horde!) with a nearby EMBAR or Longshot that – if you’re brave enough to secure it – is the perfect tool to punish opponents from this elevated position.

New strategies will emerge thanks to timed shutters that can be closed by players in the Control Room, offering a window of protection for a limited amount of time. Use it to cover your back while crossing from mid, to force opponents into fighting up close and personal for a ring or simply to deny sightlines.

Xbox One X Support

Planning on picking up an Xbox One X? You can pre-download our Xbox One X Enhanced content before you own your console by going to System -> Download 4K Game Content. Once this Update releases, you’ll be able to manually download the content for easy transfer (via external HDD or local network) once your console joins your Xbox family.

Don’t forget that only the Xbox One X has the power to take advantage of our Enhanced content, so please do not toggle this option if you’re not planning to upgrade. You’ll just be taking up storage space!

Halloween

There’s plenty more to come from Gears of War 4 in 2017! Halloween is just around the corner with new characters to collect, new weapon skins to earn and some spooky-themed events!

In addition to all of this, season pass holders will be receiving a new bonus called “Map Owned.” This will “offer a permanent percentage increase in XP and Credit gain for any maps you own whenever you play on them in Public Versus or Horde.” It’ll also replace the Developer Playlists with Double XP and 20% Bonus Credit event.

In Xbox One news, Hori is coming out with a new officially licensed keyboard and mouse for the console, the fall update is here with lots of new features, and October 2017’s Games With Gold are available to download.

Another Battlefield 1 Easter Egg Has Been Discovered, Again Featuring Battlefield Friends

Amidst the new content coming to Battlefield 1 in the Turning Tides expansion, DICE has also hidden some new secrets for players to find. Final Fantasy XV Comrades Co-Op Mode Expansion Delayed

I’ve got bad news for Final Fantasy fans looking forward to the upcoming Comrades expansion. The original planned release date of October 31, has now been pushed back to “early November.”

Square Enix isn’t providing an exact new launch date, but has said that the delay is due “to final adjustments and to create the best possible experience.”

The delay should hopefully only last a week or two. Once it’s over, players will be able to group up and tackle the world’s challenges as a team. Here’s what to expect from Comrades:

For the first time, Final Fantasy XV players will be able to create their own character and join up with three other friends to take on epic quests and battles in the game’s first and only online multiplayer expansion titled “Comrades.” Starting October 31, players will set foot as a survivor from Kingsglaive to find out more about the disappearance of Noctis after the events in Chapter 13 from the main game.

“As members of Kingsglaive, players equip royal sigils that grant special powers from the Lucian bloodline. Players can then strategize and create a balanced team to take on a variety of quests. In addition to multiplayer quests, single player quests are also available for players to enhance their characters.”

If you want to see more from Comrades, be sure to give this trailer a watch. For other Final Fantasy content, check out this Dissidia Final Fantasy NT closed beta video overview, and details on the new Final Fantasy XIV patch.

Regardless, with the support of Gearbox Software’s latest IP coming to an end. This also means the Texas-based studio can now focus it’s attention on the highly anticipated Borderlands 3. Just recently, it was discovered that the studio is already looking for a writer for the game according to a recent job posting.

Watch Some Call of Duty: WWII “Flak Tower” Map Leaked Gameplay

Remember when we posted that story about someone getting arrested for trying to steal and resell early copies of Call of Duty: WWII? While he was caught, there’s still a bunch of unofficial clips of the game circulating online. Today, a bunch of YouTube videos have popped up online showing the Flak Tower map being played by someone, which most likely came when the beta client went live for a brief moment and the map was playable.

The two videos that show the map seem to be against bots, which is a given since the servers are far off from being turned on. Check out the flanking routes, tight corridors and more of Flak and whether it’s a map that you’ll want to vote for whenever it’s up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knt0dM_QxNk

If that’s not enough for you, we also posted what seems to be the complete map list for COD: WWII in one of the number of leaks we got from the PC beta files. Still not enough? Check out the Basic Training list, and the new gun customization called “sweetheart grips” as well.

Are you digging Flak so far? Will it replace be Call of Duty: WWII’s Nuketown? We’ll know for sure once COD: WWII hits retail on November 3 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Report: First Original Xbox Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One Titles Revealed

After initially revealing that the original Xbox games will be available as backwards compatible titles in the near future during this year’s E3, it seems Microsoft is getting very close to making this feature available to Xbox One users. Either  that or at the very least getting ready to announce the very first few titles for the program.

Just recently, a pretty interesting image was discovered on the internet, which shows off an handful of original Xbox titles such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and many more.

If this image is to believed, Microsoft seems intent with starting off the program with a bang so to speak. As this first batch of original Xbox games also includes great games like Fusion Frenzy and Ninja Gaiden: Black. For the full list of rumored games, check them out below:

  • BloodRayne 2
  • Crimson Skies
  • Dead to Rights
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • The King of Fighters: NeoWave
  • Ninja Gaiden: Black
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Psychonauts
  • Red Faction II
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Though as with every rumor, you should take this image with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made from Microsoft. As to when we can expect some sort of announcement, it seems that Microsoft’s very own Albert Penello has the answer to that as he revealed via his Twitter account that Microsoft is set to make an announcement regarding the original Xbox backwards compatibility program ‘soon.’

Those who are looking forward to being able play original Xbox titles once again, which game are you looking forward to being available in the near future? Let us know in the comment section below.

Valve Boss Gabe Newell Is a Very, Very Rich Man

How many of you reading this game on PC? How many of you use Origin? What about Battle.net? Not a lot? Just the right amount? What about Steam? Yeah, I gather, almost everyone who games on a PC uses Steam.

With that said, Steam and Valve boss Gabe Newell is now part of the top 100 richest in the US! Forbes released its list of most loaded people in the US rounded to the nearest hundred million, and Newell is at the 97th spot! Forbes estimates that Newell’s worth is at $5.5 billion!

Newell can now buy his own island, maybe build his own Avengers-like army of developers to finally work and finish Half-Life 3. Whatever he wants to do, Newell’s war chest looks to be expanding even more what with the concurrent users of the digital store now reaching over 15 million. Note that’s concurrent, which means there are more people than 15 million in the world who uses Steam.

Speaking of Steam, here’s when the next three Steam sales will be happening.

Congrats, Gabe! Throw some gold at publishers to stop them from doing microtransactions in every game, please!?

Incoming Fortnite Battle Royale Update Will Focus on Weapon Accuracy, Greater Customization & More

With the Fortnite Battle Royale player count growing and growing, the demand for new features is getting louder and louder. Epic Games’ free-to-play expansion has attracted a lot of attention, but without regular updates and content drops, player interest could quickly decline.

Happily, it looks like the developers are hard at work bringing new features to the game. In the latest developer update video, Epic Games’ Eric Williamson and Zack Estep detailed their plans for the next few patches, and what players can expect to see soon, as well as further down the line.

The main points of discussion were: voice chat (which has now been added), weapons and consumables, and scope adjustments.

With regards to weapons and consumables, the team is currently looking at balancing additional weapons, as well as a powerful potion that currently restores full health and part of the shield.

Weapon accuracy is also being looked at. The most notable change being tested is the complete overhaul of all weapons to use projectiles rather than hit-scan. This means bullets will travel over distance and it will be more challenging to hit enemies. Aim assist will also be looked at.

Player progression and customization are also a hot topic amongst the developers, as well the automatic picking up of ammo and other consumables.

You can watch the full developer update here:

I definitely like the sound of automatically picking up consumables! What changes are you most looking forward to seeing implemented?

We plan to solve many of the bugs from the current live servers, and we are also constantly working on optimization. You will be able to experience bug fixes, optimization, and many other improvements in the test servers that will be run prior to the official release.

Please keep in mind that the live server build and the developing PC 1.0 build are not easy to integrate or merge together. Even if some of the issues are resolved during internal development, these changes cannot always be reflected upon the live servers immediately.

As mentioned above, we plan to run the test servers at least three times before the official launch. However, the announcements for what is being implemented into the test servers may be delayed and often published on short notice. This is because we are constantly trying to implement and fix as many things as possible, and we want to make sure that our announcements to the community are as accurate as they can be.

I’ve never been so excited about vaulting over walls!

In other PUBG news, over 322,000 cheaters have been banned and new concurrent player count has been achieved, the game was bombarded with negative reviews following in-game ads, and Bluehole is apparently “in talks” with Sony regarding a PS4 version

Destiny 2 Seasons Info Recap From the Reveal – Everything in One Place

[tps_header]

Just a few hours ago, Bungie went on Twitch to open the lid on Destiny 2 seasons and what it means for the shared-world shooter. Now if you weren’t able to catch the livestream, or just wanted a condense version, you’ve come to the right place!

Thanks to the fine folks over on the Destiny subreddit, a bulletpoint breakdown can be read that focuses on the important stuff. We’ve broken it down to two slide pages since it’s super long. Just for clarity’s sake, we’re currently in season 1, and there will be four  seasons in the first year of Destiny 2.

[/tps_header]

[tps_title]Season 1:[/tps_title]

  • Expansion 1 – Winter 2017 aka Curse of Osiris DLC
  • Seasons:
    • Max level so that old/smaller clans have a chance vs only larger more active clans to dominate. Keeps everything on a more fair level.
    • Seasons have themes associated with them. They take feedback from the community for adding and adjusting things such as new emotes, rewards, etc.
    • Goals:
    • More predictable time tables (what to expect and when)
    • Destiny 2 year 1: 4 seasons
    • Make big changes to the game
    • Sandbox tuning, new features, more content:
    • Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 6.43.12 PM
    • Big patches to change the meta, etc.
    • Meant so you don’t feel like you have to play Destiny ALL the time.
    • Season 2: The Dawning will make a return shortly after the launch.
    • Ice Hockey will be enabled:
    • Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 6.49.24 PM
    • Other Easter Eggs
    • You can have snowball fights
    • Event affects will be throughout the world, not just the social space.
    • Armor preview:
    • Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 6.49.59 PM
    • Armor, Weapons, Shaders, and possibly emotes will come
    • Iron Banner – What Bungie Learned:
    • 1,500 YEARS worth of time played between all guardians.
    • Learned how we interacted with the loot system. Will be changes to loot such as letting us direct purchase guns via tokens and legendary shards.
    • The token economy is not always the best way for everything.
    • Unlock ornaments via gameplay vs tokens for some events in the future.
    • Heard community feedback of wanting rewards more meaningful.
    • One more Iron Banner in Season 1.
    • For Season 2, there will be an ornaments slot requiring an objective to unlock to show that you completed a limited event objective.
    • Some new gear:
    • Perks and stats will be updated.
    • There will be a complimentary energy and kinetic weapon so you can have one of each.
    • Trials of The Nine
    • There will be ornaments as well, not shown yet but “They look really cool”
    • Updated weapons, both visual look and perks:
    • Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 7.00.04 PM
    • Faction Rally
    • Data was tallied cross-platform.
    • One more in Season 1
    • Screenshot:
    • Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 7.00.32 PM
    • For Season 2 there will be changes to promote playing with a fireteam more vs just solo.

Tekken Director Says He Wants Characters From Different Companies and Franchises and Pit Them King of Fighters Style

We’ve already seen the Tekken characters fight non-franchise characters before, but could more of them be on the way? If Tekken 7 Director Katsuhiro Harada had his way, we would.

Speaking in an interview, Harada revealed that his “wish list” of characters he wants to appear in a fighting game isn’t just from one franchise, but rather, taking his favorite characters and having them go at each other like SNK’s excellent King of Fighters series.

If it’s just a wish list, not necessarily for Tekken 7, I’ve always been interested in taking my favourite characters extending from many different company franchises and putting them into a King of Fighters style.

Does this mean we’ll finally see Tekken X Street Fighter? Probably not. But as someone who has played some of SNK’s King of Fighters games, I approve of what Harada’s dream game would be. Imagine if we had a tag system with characters from Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Virtua Fighter and more? That would be legendary.

What would your dream fighting game be? Who would be in your dream roster?
