Better late than never, right? Injustice 2is finally coming to PC, starting with an open beta on Steam. All players will get to trial the superhero fighter starting October 25.
As for when the full release will land, we don’t yet know. However, we’d hope that the time between the beta and full launch is substantial enough to allow any needed changes to be made.
If you’re a PC gamer who’s out of the loop when it comes to Injustice 2, here’s the game’s official description:
Injustice 2 is the super-powered sequel to the hit game Injustice: Gods Among Us that allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. Featuring a massive selection of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains, players can personalize iconic DC characters with unique and powerful gear earned throughout the game. Additionally, for the first time, gamers can take control of how their characters look, fight and develop across a variety of game modes.
EVERY BATTLE DEFINES YOU
Injustice 2 expands on the previous title’s larger-than-life showdowns. With every match, players earn gear to equip, customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains that meaningfully impacts not only how they look, but also how they fight.
MASSIVE ROSTER OF DC CHARACTERS
Players can choose from the biggest DC roster ever offered in a fighting game, from classic fan favorites such as Batman, Superman, Supergirl, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle, to astonishing new villains like Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd and Deadshot.
EPIC, CINEMATIC STORYLINE
Injustice 2 continues the story set in motion in Injustice: Gods Among Us as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together, but struggle against those who would restore Superman’s Regime. In the midst of this chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth’s very existence at risk.
BUILT BY NETHERREALM STUDIOS

Xbox fans, your day of sales has come. This week’s Xbox store sale listings are up now. Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has revealed this week’s Xbox Deals With Gold offerings, and there’s a lot of Grand Theft Auto V in it.
Same as before, don’t forget that you need to have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to take advantage of the sales, and you have until November 1, Wednesday, before it all expires.
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V is still one of the best selling video games to this date, four years after initial release and the years following with releases on next generation consoles and PC. While Rockstar had stated previously that more single-player content would be on its way in the coming months and years, we haven’t seen one episode of content for the single-player so far.
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Director of Design Imran Sarwar shed some light regarding one of the game’s most important question: why we haven’t seen any GTAV single-player DLC.
No, it was not really a conscious decision, it’s just what happened. With GTA V, the single-player game was absolutely massive and very, very complete. It was three games in one. The next-gen versions took a year of everyone’s time to get right, then the online component had a lot of potential but to come close to realizing that potential, also sucked up a lot of resources. And then there are other games – in particular Red Dead Redemption II. The combination of these three factors means for this game, we did not feel single-player expansions were either possible or necessary.
Imran went on to say that “as a company, we love single-player more than anything, and believe in it absolutely – for storytelling and a sense of immersion in a world, multiplayer games don’t rival single-player games.” The sentiment seems quite true given that Rockstar recently announced their sequel to the popular western Red Dead Redemption.

Sony has released a new PS4 update for the company’s flagship console, and as one can expect from a unannounced PlayStation 4 firmware update, it’s main “additions” are stability fixes.
Bear in mind that you might need to manually prompt the PS4 update 5.01 since it doesn’t seem to be a mandatory download. The full patch notes and download links can be seen below.
Main features in version 5.01 update
This system software update improves system performance.
It’s a relatively small file clocking in at just 300MB (download link for direct USB installation). Fun little tidbit: these small PS4 updates have patch notes that say “improves system performance” and not the usual “improves system stability.” Also, for this one, it says “improves system performance” which is kind of new. Also, according to multiple Reddit users, PS4 update 5.01 was rolled out to squash a loophole for running homebrew, which more often than not, leads to piracy.
It’s Tuesday, which means that it’s time for a Destiny 2weekly reset. We’ve listed everything that’s new — including Milestones, the Nightfall Strike, Eververse items, and more — down below.

Call of Duty eSports fans, mark your calendars as the Call of Duty World League 2018 season will get an official reveal this Wednesday. This was announced by the Call of Duty eSports Twitter account, which also showed off this year’s logo.
After originally reporting what the first batch of titles of original Xbox backwards compatibility titles will be this past weekend, it seems we won’t have to wait much longer for them to become available.
Bill Stillwell who runs the backwards compatibility program shared some important news regarding original Xbox titles that sees games such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Red Faction 2 and many more officially become playable on the Xbox One platform starting tomorrow.
However, that’s not the only piece of news he’s shared regarding original Xbox backwards compatibility titles. It seems that these titles are taking advantage of running on a more powerful machine, and will be increasing the pixel count by 4x if you happen to be playing them on either the Xbox One or Xbox One S. Those who’ve shelled out some extra cash to purchase the Xbox One X will see an even bigger increase of pixels, as the Xbox One X will be increasing the pixel count by 16x.
To help you visualize these improvements to some of these games, IGN has recently posted videos on their YouTube channel showcasing what these titles would look like running via the backwards compatibility program. You can catch the visual improvements to Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic in the video above.
Additionally, those who own the Xbox Game Pass will also get access to Ninja Gaiden: Black for free as apart of their subscription. For the rest of the titles, it seems they will be available from variety of prices that ranges from 9.99 USD to 14.99 USD. If these titles aren’t your cup of tea and would rather wait until the next batch of titles to become available before you dive into playing some original Xbox titles. It appears that you may be waiting quite a bit, as the next batch of titles are set to be available sometime in the sGet readypring of 2018.
Good news aside, it should be noted such features like Xbox Live access won’t be available. Due to the Xbox Live servers for the original Xbox being taken down quite a few years ago, though offline multiplayer features such as system-link and co-op will still be supported.
With the original Xbox backwards compatibility launching tomorrow, are you going to play some of these old time classics?
If you’re familiar with the Gran Turismo franchise, then you know it’s not exactly a game that’s known for its speedy releases. On the contrary, it usually gets delayed a few times before it finally settles on a release date. However, once an entry is unleashed onto retail, it usually sells a lot.
Well, apparently, it sells enough that it’s worth Sony’s time even if it keeps getting delayed a lot. According to the Gran Turismowebsite (via GamingBolt), the total Gran Turismo series sales are at a staggering 76.9 million units! Check the complete breakdown per entry below.
Worldwide
Units
Gran Turismo
10,850,000
Gran Turismo 2
9,370,000
Gran Turismo 3 A-spec
14,890,000
Gran Turismo Concept Series
1,560,000
Gran Turismo 4 Prologue
1,400,000
Gran Turismo 4
11,760,000
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
5,350,000
Gran Turismo PSP
4,660,000
Gran Turismo 5
11,950,000
Gran Turismo 6
5,170,000
Total
76,900,000
And that number is sure to keep on climbing given Gran Turismo Sport, which was just released last week, is already selling like hot cakes.
With the massive success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), it’s logical to assume that we’ll see support for the game for a long while, especially given it’s not even out of Early Access. However, with the game’s sales now at a astronomical number, will studio Bluehole think to capitalize on the craze with PUBG 2 before the hype dies down?
Well, apparently, not anytime soon. Speaking to IGN (via GameSpot), PlayerUnknown himself Brendan Greene emphatically shot all the sequel talk down, and said that Bluehole is focusing on PUBG as a games-as-a-service (GaaS) model, with constant updates, and patches.
We’re building this game as a service. We’ll still have the boxed copy that you buy …we still want to polish and refine. Add more maps, add more assets, and continually refine the gameplay and optimise as we go forward.
That’s actually comforting to hear, no? Rather than getting a sequel out the door for more money, they’re going ot build on the game that brought them success in the first place.
Earlier today, Bandai Namco announced the Dragon Ball Fighter Z release date, which made a lot of people happy given it’s about a month earlier than what was known previously. If that wasn’t enough, the publisher also revealed the Dragon Ball Fighter Z Season Pass details as well.
Over on Twitter, the official Bandai Namco account revealed the details with the main draw being the eight new playable characters coming to the game post-launch.
Need more FighterZ on your squad!? Pick up the FighterZ Pass for DRAGON BALL FighterZ (X1/PS4/PC), it adds 8 NEW characters + MORE! pic.twitter.com/i5x4wx47Va
If you can’t see that, the Dragon Ball Fighter Z Season Pass will be priced at $34.99 and include:
Eight new playable characters for Dragon Ball Fighter Z
Each fighter comes with respective stamp, lobby avatars, and alternate colors
And that’s basically it. Right now, assuming Bandai Namco doesn’t add any more fighters to the Season Pass, we’re looking at $4.37 for each character (overall price rounded out to $35), which is either expensive, or a steal depending on how much you play the game.
It is looking fantastic though, and given Arc System Works’ pedigree, the gameplay should match the visuals when it comes to playability.
It’s been four years since we got a proper Gran Turismo game (Gran Turismo 6 for the PS3), and after a few delays, Polyphony Digital’s first PlayStation 4 game, and the first PS4 Gran Turismo title, races out with Gran Turismo Sport. Booting the game up, you’ll be greeted by a “welcome gift” automobile that you can use without spending a dime of in-game currency (more on this later).
After that, you’re suggested to try the “campaign” which consists of challenges ranging from the basic tutorial, to more challenging maneuvers that will test your resolve and patience. For racing fans used to arcade racers, I suggest doing the tutorials first given the game’s more sim-like approach to game mechanics and automobiles.
Sexy Back
If there’s one thing I’m sure of when it comes to Gran Turismo Sport, it’s that it looks amazing. Cars look shiny (sometimes a tad too much), reflections bounce of correctly, and watching it in motion will make your jaw drop. If there’s a game that’s the perfect showpiece game for your PS4, then it’s GT Sport. Only thing I noticed that seemed a little off were the trees, but given how we have actual responsive crowds (to some degree), fantastic lighting effects, and just flat-out gorgeous in-engine gameplay (no bullshots here), then that’s a compromise I’m fine with.
Polyphony knows GT Sport looks beautiful, too as the “Scapes” mode is essentially a screenshot mode that makes everything look as good as it can, and don’t be surprised if you spend more time with it than necessary even for non-photo fans.
Another cool aspect Polyphony has done is that the options menu gives a wide range of color saturation and other settings that can be fiddled with, so players can optimize the visuals to their liking, and should be appreciated by fans, and car enthusiasts alike.
While the audio design might not be as impressive as the visuals, the engine sounds, tire screeches and more are handled brilliantly as well thanks to the help of Sony’s audio tech department. Don’t expect exaggerated sounds when it comes to car collisions, hitting walls and such, as these sounds and other auto audio effects are presented in a more subdued way than your typical arcade racer.
Speaking of audio, the game’s soundrack is fantastically curated. Expect mellow beats, hard-hitting songs and the like to match the race. It’s pretty evident that Polyphony made a conscious effort to ensure the soundtrack won’t overwhelm racers, and instead act as something that’s made for cooler heads.
Tight Corners
Over on the progression and “carrot-on-a-stick: department, Grant Turismo Sport continues the franchise’s legacy. Prepare to spend hours on races to earn in-game credits to purchase better cars, customization items and more. Essentially, everything you do in GT Sport nets you some sort of reward via credits or getting automobiles as “gifts” for completing certain challenges. Thankfully, these credits can only be obtained by actually playing the game and not through microtransactions. I have to applaud Polyphony when it comes to this, since it’s super easy to abuse the in-game credits system and have microtransactions dictate the unlocks.
As for the actual gameplay, expect that familiar Gran Turismo feel; controls are easy to learn, but the nuances on when to brake, or hit the pedal while turning a curve, is something that needs to be mastered to do well. Sure, you can play it as your regular racer, but don’t expect to beat those who pour in the time to study their car and how to steer properly. There’s a “Driver Assist” feature in the game that some people might find useful. If you’re an experienced racer, then you can turn it off completely, but for those who aren’t as seasoned? You can set it to “beginner” and the AI will help you around corners, notify you when to brake and more. It’s a handy tool that should make transitioning from learning the game to mastering it, all the more easier.
Same with other racing games, players can choose whether to use a manual or automatic transmission on their race car during a race, modify the tires, and so on. In some cases, there are recommended and mandatory car settings in order to qualify for a match, and it’s just a button press away to make the adjustments, which is dead useful for those who just want to race, and aren’t really gearheads. Polyphony might also have gone a bit overboard with the HUD when viewing the game in first-person navigation mode since there are a ton of car meters, icons and such that might prove confusing to some. It’s not a big deal however, as drivers can toggle between multiple viewpoints all with a single button press. Personally, I like the third-person view the most given I’ve played the first few Gran Turismo games that way.
Offline Pit Stop
While there’s a lot to like in Gran Turismo Sport, there is one big “issue” that needs to be addressed: the game cannot be played offline. OK, that’s a bit of an exaggeration. You can play GT Sport offline, but only the Arcade mode, and you can’t save anything either. I learned this the hard way when servers went down when I was trying to play, and I had to check online to make sure there was something wrong with the servers and not with my actual game.
This is a major drawback as almost everything you want to do in GT Sport means you need to be online to do it. Want to finish the challenges while your ‘net service is down? Nope, can’t do it. I can’t stress this enough, Arcade mode will be the only mode available to you offline. If you’re someone who doesn’t connect their console to the internet, or in an area with a spotty connection, take note of that first before considering GT Sport.
When online though, Arcade mode is just one of the many modes in GT Sport. There’s the “campaign,” which consists of the tutorial and challenges (all of these rewards you with credits and a gift upon completion), and of course, racing online. Interestingly enough, Polyphony has a mandatory “Driver’s Etiquette” videos that you need to watch the whole way through (no way to fast foward them, either) before you can join any multiplayer match. They’re videos telling you how to behave online, and is only a few minutes long. It might seem like a hassle to some, but given how bad some players are with internet anonymity, this is a welcome move by Polyphony to at least try and educate people on how to game online.
There are also Daily Races that players can join to get their SR (Sportsmanship Rank) and DR (Driving Rank) up, which in turn lets them join higher-skilled matches. Polyphony makes a big point about matching players against same-level gamers, and that reflects in matches too. Don’t expect to blitz past newbies in races. Regarding SR, it’s algorithm is a bit odd given you’ll sometimes be deducted points for not really doing anything bad or “unsportsmanlike.”
Playing online is a bit of a mixed bag, with match queues taking a bit longer than what I would have liked, but once you’re in an online match, prepare for a (relatively) seamless experience. Not sure if it’s my dumb luck or whatnot, but I’ve yet to experience any lag or rubberbanding, and felt that my online successes (and failures) were all of my doing and not due to the game’s servers acting up.
Race Against the Machine
Longtime franchise fans will no doubt, lap up everything GT Sport has to offer. But first-timers might balk at the seemingly bare-bones modes and offerings. Case in point, GT Sport only has 150 cars to unlock and earn, which is a far cry from the hundreds of vehicles its predecessors dangled onto players noses. Sure, you can customize your car (to some extent) but don’t expect to go overboard with these. It’s a racing sim through and through, and it knows it.
While a lot of Polyphony’s vision for Gran Turismo Sport seems to be on the minimalist side of things (from the menus, credits system, etc.), it knows its audience well, and appeals to them the most.
Other racing games might be able to offer the same things GT Sport does, and some might even do it better. But for Gran Turismo fans, GT Sport is racing heaven. Prepare to lose hours in hitting gold rank in challenges, saving up cash for the next big car you want to buy, and vying to qualify in races. Sure, it’s not as feature-packed as some would have liked, but what it does, it does well.
Gran Turismo fans, rejoice! The franchise is back and it didn’t take the entire console generation for Polyphony to get a game out. Just make sure to have an internet connection before playing before you hit the virtual garage.
Score: 8.5/10
Pros:
Beautiful visuals, drop-dead gorgeous graphics that will make you jaw drop
Lots of features to ease newcomers into the franchise
Scapes mode is perfect for taking gorgeous in-game shots
Sound design and music curation is excellent
No microtransactions!
Cons:
Internet connection is essentially required
Menu layout/dashboard UI might be overwhelming to some
Unforgiving gameplay that might scare off those used to arcade racers
Constant loading and queue screens between challenges, online matches
EA have revealed the Emperor will return in Star Wars Battlefront II. which should come as a shock to no one. While there’s not actual gameplay to be seen for now, we do get a lovely image of the Emperor in all his hooded glory.
At close range, the Emperor is especially potent, wrecking groups of enemies with his area effect attacks. The heart of the Emperor’s arsenal is his signature Force lightning. The iconic bolts of purple-blue energy fired from his hands serve both as the Emperor’s standard attack and as the basis for his special offensive abilities.
The Emperor’s Chain Lightning is among his most terrifying and potent attacks. A bolt of lightning strikes a nearby foe, then spreads to strike another, and another. Used against tightly-packed squads, this power is a potent equalizer, shifting the balance of power in seconds.
The Emperor can also summon a Dark Aura of Force energy to surround his body. Any opponent caught within it suffers a twofold effect: the aura deals damage and it slows any enemy unfortunate enough to come into contact.
Finally, the Emperor can completely lock down groups of nearby enemies with Electrocute, catching them in an immobilizing area of energy and rendering them vulnerable to the Emperor’s allies.
For more on Battlefront II, check out our article where we showcase some of the Heroes confirmed to be in the game, complete with snippets of gameplay. The contents of the Founder’s Pack, which will be given to beta participants has also been revealed.
Star Wars Battlefront II will release November, 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Supermassive Games has given us an insight into the new crime thriller, Hidden Agenda.
Hidden Agenda is designed to be a part of the PlayStation 4 “PlayLink” system. PlayLink cancels out the DualShock 4 controllers and puts the control in the grasp of your phones. PlayLink titles are designed to have up to six players journeying through the interactive stories.
Here’s a breakdown of what Hidden Agenda is all about, including a video developer diary:
We’ve taken inspiration from various neo-noir thrillers to craft a tale of betrayal and revenge, set in a rainy, rundown city. You play Detective Becky Marney and District Attorney Felicity Graves as they hunt down the “Trapper” — a serial killer who rigs his victims with explosives to murder the responding officers.
This video gives you an overview of the game’s two modes: Story and Competitive. In Story mode, you’ll work together to catch the killer. In Competitive mode, you’ll get secret objectives as you play through. Much like a bluffing card game, you’ll need to trick your friends to evade blame and make your hidden agenda come true.
Playing alone or with friends will create a different story each and every time you play. Because of this, you will be able to play multiple times with a new story “branch.”
Hidden Agenda will launch October 24. Be sure to download the free companion app on your mobile devices, whether that be your mobile phone, or even tablet.
This time on Pixel Enemy, I’m offering a rundown on the top five worst in-game business practices. These include loot boxes, pre-order content taken from the core game, and more!

“This is Mack, for Pixel Enemy, here to talk about in-game business practices and just how awful they can be, particularly when combined together to be especially offensive.
This video could be a little long and ranty, so we’ll dive right in. These are the top five worst in-game business practices.
Loot boxes have been a very hot topic, as of late. I’d say that they are the trending topic in the world of video game controversies, and for good reason. However, for this video, I’m separating the two kinds of loot boxes, as one type isn’t so bad, while the other just outright sucks…”

Just to clarify, we’ve already reported on the Founder’s Crate before, and now EA has announced what the actual contents are, which can be read below.
Original Story:
If you took part in the Star Wars Battlefront IIbeta, regardless of whether it was through closed or open access, you’re set to receive a “Founder’s Crate” upon booting up the full game.
The Founder’s Crate is “specially curated” and will feature credits, an exclusive emote for Darth Maul, and a rare Star Card.
Everyone who plays the Beta will receive a specially curated “Founder’s Crate” filled with goodies as a thank you from the developers, including credits, an exclusive emote for Darth Maul, and a rare trooper Star Card to give them a head start in battle.
Here’s hoping that “rare trooper Star Card” isn’t too powerful, as we know how sensitive the community is to statistic-boosting loot drops. Here’s hoping that lesson has been learned!
If you didn’t partake in the beta, I wouldn’t worry too much. This “thank you” present likely only provides an hour or two’s advantage, so don’t look too glum.
Star Wars Battlefront II is set to release on November 17, across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Those Guardians hoping to have fun tricking and treating in-game will be disappointed to hear that the Destiny 2Festival of the Lost event won’t be happening. Not this year, at least!
In the original Destiny, the Festival of the Lost brought trick-or-treating to the Tower, night covered Crucible maps and social spaces, and new consumable, masks and emotes could be earned. Sadly, this won’t be the case for Destiny 2.
Community Manager David “Deej” Dague confirmed this on Twitter, stating that the first event for Destiny 2 would be The Dawning.
No, Sir. We may see it again someday but Season 1 has been about launch and ritual activation. The first event for Destiny 2 is The Dawning.
The Dawning will take place over the winter holiday period and feature various themed activities and rewards. It’s sure to be a fun time, but I’m many players will be disappointed to hear that Halloween isn’t being celebrated. (I, too, loved those masks!)
Gran Turismo Sportis off to a flying start in the UK. According to GfK Chart-Track, the game has taken the top spot in sales, knocking FIFA 18 down into second place.

A new Ghost Recon Wildlandsupdate is rolling out across all platforms. It brings a host of changes to the game, including tweaks to Ghost War‘s Thermal Vision perk, as well as Campaign Mode fixes and improvements.
The updates weighs in at 11GB on PS4 and Xbox One, while on PC it’s smaller at 7.89GB.
Here’s the full list of patch notes for update 8.2 (1.12):
Ghost War mode
Thermal Vision perk balancing changes
The Thermal vision perk will only be available to Support classes only and can only be used while operating the drone. Also, the game developers moved Quick Hands to the multiclass category.
Campaign mode
Ghost Recon Wildlands update 8.2 fixed a bug where some players got stuck on a “refreshing content” pop-up window when trying to join Narco Road or Fallen Ghosts.
PC version
Some players who had uninstalled EAC were receiving an error popup preventing them from launching the game. A new fix is added to prevent this error from coming again.
Matchmaking
The reason why the game matches players with different levels together is because matchmaking is done based on players’ Match Making Rating instead of level. MMR is basically a value representing the player’s skill and goes up and down depending on their win/loss ratio. At level 1, because the players haven’t won or lost a match yet, they are assigned a default rating value upon which we apply our MMR calculation algorithm (based on the Glicko-2 rating system) depending on round outcomes and also their own team’s and the opposing team’s MMR.
Ghost Recon Wildlands update 1.12 has lowered the starting MMR value below the global average MMR. With this fix, there will still be a chance for a level 1 player to match with higher level players, but their skill will be significantly lower, so matches will be more balanced.
Player progression
Game developers have noticed that the player progression from level 1 to 50 seemed to be much slower than anticipated. With Ghost Recon Wildlands update 8.2, developers managed to reduce the total time needed to reach level 50 to a much more comfortable amount so players will progress quicker.
If you’ve been playing Ghost War, you’ll probably be very happy seeing changes to Thermal Vision!
