Halo Infinite Daily XP Payouts Increased for First 6 Matches

Following the Head of Design’s initiative to prioritize multiplayer progression, 343 Industries has rolled out some small XP changes for Halo Infinite. As of today, Halo Infinite daily XP payouts for the first six matches have been increased significantly, a welcome change for those who have been burned out for grinding for the game’s battle pass.

The announcement comes from 343 Industries Community Manager John Junyszek, who made the statements of the changes over on Twitter. In a thread, he described how these XP changes will be rolled out, which you can read below:

When we made our initial change to progression, which added Daily “Play 1 Game” Challenges, updated Weekly Challenges, and doubled the duration of 2XP Boosts, we promised that we’d monitor the data and make additional changes if needed. Now, it’s time to follow up on that.

After seeing how XP was earned with those changes, we noticed that players were starting their sessions with slower payouts than we’d like. To address this, we will be increasing the XP payout for the first 6 matches of each day. An outline of this update can be found below:

1st Game = 300XP

2nd Game = 200XP

3rd Game = 200XP

4th Game = 100XP

5th Game = 100XP

6th Game = 100XP

7th+ Game = 50XP

We believe this increase will help address those slower initial payouts while also benefiting those of you jumping on each and every day.

He ends the post with some reassurance for those who want to see larger changes made with regards to Halo Infinite multiplayer progression and daily XP:

We know many of you want even larger changes and we’re committed to doing so, but those will take time. We made this update based on data and player feedback, and we’ll monitor its impact after we push it live tomorrow morning. As always, keep sharing your feedback!

In case you missed it, 343 Industries has rolled out some multiplayer progression changes a few weeks ago. You can read all about the changes here.

SMITE Update 12.00 Patch Notes; Out for Bonus Balance This Nov. 30

Hi-Rez Studios has released the SMITE update 12.00 patch this November 30, and this one is for the Bonus Balance update 8.11! Head down below for the complete patch notes.

SMITE Update 12.00 Patch Notes | SMITE Bonus Balance Update 8.11 Patch Notes:

General

Anti-Heal “Brawling” Buff
Welcome to the SMITE World Championship patch! Our goals this patch are to make any final adjustments before the pros take to the stage and battle it out to see who are this Season’s World Champions. Adjustments made here are focused on competitive level feedback to ensure we have a fun and competitive championship. The first change is focused around Healing. We have seen a steady rise in gods that heal their team significantly and rather than nerfing them directly we want to use our global reduction to address this. The in combat pressure they provide will be mitigated by other adjustments below but this allows us to address healing that occurs in between fights.
  • Increased Healing Reduction from 30% to 40%
    • This applies globally to all gods who have not dealt/received damage or CC to/from another god within the last 3s

Items

Lotus Crown Nerf
Lotus Crown has been a potent reason for the increase in healing. Its cheap but efficient statline combined with powerful team utility makes gods that can apply it stand out above the rest of the cast. By decreasing the team utility, other gods’ strengths should have a better chance to compete.
  • Decreased Passive Physical and Magical Protections provided to allies from 20 to 15

Divine Ruin Buff
The final major ‘healing’ focused adjustment is towards Divine Ruin. All other Anti-heal items feel powerful to purchase with the exception of Divine Ruin which feels noticeably weaker compared to other choices. An extra 20 Magical Power will help Mages secure their spot as a powerful Anti-heal part of a well rounded team composition.
  • Increased Magical Power from 90 to 110

Warrior’s Axe Nerf
Warrior’s Axe received heavy adjustments and our goals for Solo lane feeling more aggressive and combat focused were met, Warrior’s Axe is contributing too much in that regard. We are lowering how strong its direct one-on-one trading can be in the early game to ensure other starts can compete.
  • Decreased the Passive HP Steal from 35 to 25
  • Increases the HP Steal from 1 per level to 1.5 per level

Sundering Axe Nerf
Similar to Warrior’s Axe, Sundering provided Warrior’s with too much consistent and reliable trading. A decrease in frequency and potency of the steal will help this feel more in line with other starting upgrades.
  • Increased Cooldown on the passive from 7s to 8s
  • Decreased Damage from 3% + 2% Per protections to 2% + 2% of protection

Wind Demon
Wind Demon provides a slew of stats that can synergize with most Hunter builds. A decrease in Attack Speed in both its base and proc will make this item less useful in all builds but still a powerful part of a Critical Strike build.
  • Decreased Attack Speed from 20% to 15%
  • Decreased Passive Bonus Attack Speed from 15% to 10%

Gods

Bastet Nerf
Bastet has pounced up the win-rate charts with her recent rework! She still excels as an ability Assassin but with her extra healing and target isolating Ultimate her play style is much more rounded out. Each of these new components is just a whisker too potent however, giving her too much self sustain and up close burst. Decreasing these components (and setting Huntress of Bast to 90s) will let players have a better shot at surviving an encounter with this fearsome feline.
  • Nightstalker
    • Decreased Lifesteal and Ability Lifesteal from 5+1% per level  (25% max) to 5+0.75% per level (20% max)
    • Decreased Lifesteal and Ability Lifesteal from 5+0.5% per level (15% max) to 5+0.25 per level (10% max)
  • Huntress of Bast
    • Increased Cooldown from 80s to 90s
    • Decreased Physical Power Scaling from 100% to 90%
Cliodhna Nerf
Speaking of Assassin burst, Cliodhna’s ultimate has created some interesting highlight moments. When fighting her directly her damage and ability to secure kills feels similar to other Assassin’s; but the ult traps are often executing enemies before a fight can even begin. This should leave enemies caught by one trap in less of a dire situation and reduce the chances of being instantly killed by two traps stacked on each other.
  • Tearing The Veil
    • Decreased Physical Power Scaling on the Opening hit from 80% to 70%
Camazotz Nerf
Camazotzs has been a heavily contested Assassin and looks like he would continue to be a dominating presence if left unadjusted. Scaling adjustments on Vampire Bats and Bat Out of Hell will make him easier to trade with and temper the strength of the free Physical Power he gains with Screech.
  • Vampire Bats
    • Decreased the Physical Power Scaling on the initial hit from 100% to 80%
      • (Decreased Total Scaling from 130% to 110%)
  • Bat out of Hell
    • Decrease Physical Power Scaling per hit from 40% to 35%
      •  (Decreased Total Scaling from 120% to 105%)
Erlang Shen Nerf
Erlang Shen is another jungler who is seeing a high amount of play that may limit Jungle diversity for Worlds. 72 Transformations offers heavy crowd control on a relatively low cooldown when maxxed. A reduction to Turtle’s Base Damage combined with an increase in cooldown will limit how often and how deadly this crowd control can be.
  • 72 Transformations
    • Decreased Turtle Damage from 65/110/155/200/245 to 55/100/145/190/235
    • Increased Cooldown from 18/17/16/15/14s to 18/17.5/17/16.5/16s
Nike Nerf
Nike has been a consistent and reliable path to victory for many team. Barrier Formation’s long duration combined with the large team-wide slow of Sentinel of Zeus gives her tools that can be difficult to answer back again. A reduction in duration of both of these effects will open windows for better counter engagements and attacks.
  • Barrier Formation
    • Decrease Duration of this ability from 6s to 4s
  • Sentinel of Zeus
    • Decreased Slow Duration from 4/4.5/5/5.5/6s to 4s at all ranks
Artio Nerf
Artio can certainly bear another nerf given her performance, even with our most recent round of adjustments. Her strong utility from Entangling Vines and Ferocious roar will now happen less frequently. Entangling Vines also limits enemies ability to fight back with a hefty Power reduction. Decreasing this will let enemies who cannot flee have a stronger chance to fight back.
  • Entangling Vines (Ferocious Roar)
    • Increase Cooldown from 14s to 15s on both Bear and Druid stances
    • Decreased Druid Power Debuff from 5/10/15/20/25% to 5/7.5/10/12.5/15%
The Morrigan Nerf
The Morrigan offers unparalleled flexibility for players. The strong assassin playstyle in the late game combined with transforming into a powerful teamfight god can give even the most coordinated teams problems. Confusion’s long duration late game makes it especially difficult to avoid getting caught out. With a second removed The Morrigan will need to decide to commit to assassination attempt much more quickly or risk being caught out.
  • Confusion
    •  Decreased Stealth Duration from 4/4.5/5/5.5/6s to 3/3.5/4/4.5/5s
New Skin Voice Actors
  • Infinite Overseer Cerberus: Major Attaway
  • Soul Slayer Nemesis: Aimee Smith
  • Crimson Authority King Arthur: Cory Yee
  • Shield Guardian Cabrakan: Matthew Waterson

That’s about it for the patch.

Sifu: Creating an Authentic Kung Fu Action Game Set in a Fictional Chinese Setting “Made the Most Sense” to Sloclap

While Sloclap’s Absolver was a combat-focused title, the studio’s follow up game — Sifu — heavily leans on the game’s Easter/Chinese heritage not only in the story, but also in the combat, as it focuses on different styles of Kung-Fu.

MP1st asked Sloclap, which is a Parisian indie game studo composed of former Ubisoft Paris devs, why they focused on the Easter side of the globe when it comes to the game’s setting, combat and so on. Here’s what Executive Producer Pierre Tarno had to say:

MP1st: What made Sloclap decide to focus on the Eastern-side of the world? I mean, in terms of setting, combat and the like, it’s clearly inspired by Hong Kong, and other Asian countries’ form of combat.

Tarno: We set out to make an authentic Kung Fu action game and setting it in a fictional Chinese city made the most sense to us. A lot of the original members of Sloclap have or still practice martial arts and take it very seriously. That’s why we enlisted Benjamin Colussi, a master himself, to join the team and consult with us to make sure every detail in our combat and things like the Wuguan were authentic in details.

As someone who’s Chinese, and who grew up in Chinese customs, I’m quite interested to see how faithful Sloclap is with the culture and martial arts. In the same interview, Sloclap that Sifu has “hidden secrets” that will require players multiple runs to fully understand.

Sifu will be launching on the PS4, PS5, and PC February 8, 2022. Stay tuned to our full chat with Sloclap where we dive into martial arts and gaming very soon.

DICE “Aware” of Battlefield 2042 Hit Registration Issues, Fix Aimed for “Early December”

Are you having Battlefield 2042 hit registration issues? Does it feel like your bullets aren’t hitting the intended target(s)? If so, you’re not the only one, and thankfully, DICE is “aware” of this issue, and plans to have a fix rolled out in December.

This was confirmed by the studio in an update on the EA Answers page, where it was updated with the following message:

We are aware of some instances where you may encounter your hits not registering properly while shooting at a target. We are still investigating the cause for this issue, and this remains a work in progress. However, we have some improvements coming in our next update in early December.

Mind, this “early December” patch is the Update #3 game update planned by the studio that includes quite a lot of gameplay tweaks and fixes. While not the complete patch notes, you can check out the (already) huge list of confirmed fixes included in the patch here.

Once we know more about this “early December” patch, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Chances are, we’ll hear more about it later this week or early next, so stay tuned!

COD Vanguard Playlist Update for November 29 Now Live

Sledgehammer Games has released the (Call of Duty) COD Vanguard playlist update for November 29, and it brings some fan-favorites back. Check out the complete list below.

COD Vanguard Playlist Update for November 29:

A playlist update is live in #Vanguard

Here’s what’s on the menu:
– Ship Haus 24/7
– Big Map Blitz
– Bloodshed
– Carnage
– Champion Hill Duos
– Champion Hill Trios

We’ve removed Champion Hill on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S while we investigate crash issues in this mode.

With Season 1 of Vanguard fast approaching, expect loads of news to drop this week! If you haven’t played Vanguard yet, our review can be read here, where we state, “Vanguard comes at an awkward time for Activision, and into a sea of competition. While the campaign is decent, it’s nothing to write home about, and the Zombies experience probably should have been delayed altogether. For Call of Duty, multiplayer is where it counts though and they’ve managed to put together a solid offering this year. Kudos to the teams at Sledgehammer Games and the other COD studios for managing to do so on such a tight deadline, in the midst of a global pandemic.”

Dauntless Next-Gen Out on Dec. 2, Trailer and Update Details Revealed

Phoenix Labs have unveiled the Dauntless next-gen trailer and details ahead of its December 2 launch, including everything in store for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. There’s a lot of stuff to cover, all of which are sure to excite players who are eagerly awaiting to enjoy the free-to-play monster-hunting experience on their newest consoles.

Dauntless Next-Gen Update Details:

Here is a rundown of everything coming with this next-gen update for Dauntless.

Slayers, the day you have been waiting for is finally close. December 2 will mark the official native launch of Dauntless on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This launch brings seamless cross-generation and full cross-platform support to Dauntless across seven different platforms!

After the launch, PlayStation 5 players can claim and download the enhanced version of Dauntless for free from the PlayStation Store. Players on Xbox Series X|S will automatically receive the enhanced version of Dauntless via Smart Delivery.

If you are already playing Dauntless on a console or PC, there will be no need to start over on your next-gen console. True cross-progression means that your progress carries over across all platforms you play on. With full cross-play, it also does not matter which platform your friends play on — everyone can slay Behemoths together.

  • Experience exceptionally improved visuals on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This includes everything from beautiful new lighting and atmospheres, improved view distance, volumetric fog and other effects, to reworked environment textures, trees, water, grass, and higher quality shadows.
  • On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, enjoy dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60 FPS. On Xbox Series S, enjoy 1440p resolution targeting 60 FPS.
  • Across all 3 next-gen consoles, get into the hunt sooner with up to 90% faster load times.
  • 36 new achievements and trophies have been added, covering all of the great content we’ve added to the game since our initial console launch. This includes a shiny new Platinum trophy on PlayStation 5!

In addition to these new features, Phoenix Labs also revealed some exclusive ones for the PlayStation 5, specifically with the DualSense controllers.

  • Enjoy in-game support for dynamic adaptive triggers and integrated sound from the DualSense wireless controller for PlayStation 5.
  • You will also be able to enjoy 3D audio. 3D audio places you at the centre of everything in the game, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the intensity of the sounds.
  • If you like quick access to hunts, you will be able to instantly jump into select hunts from the Activities menu. At launch, we will have a few featured hunts you can instantly join.

Once the update is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. We’re expecting some gameplay-related tweaks and bug fixes to be part of this title update roll out.

Marvel’s Avengers Holiday Content Deep Dive – Raid, Spider-Man & More Showcased

In case you didn’t know, Crystal Dynamics is dropping Marvel’s Avengers’ biggest content drop this November 30, when it makes Spider-Man available for PlayStation (PS4, PS5) gamers, along with the game’s first-ever Raid, and also the resource and gear changes incoming as well.

To help give players a better understanding of it all, Crystal Dynamics has released the Marvel’s Avengers Holiday content deep dive War Table! It’s a 12-minute video where players can check out the changes and new content incoming tomorrow, November 30!

Update: Crystal Dynamics has published a blog regarding the stuff discussed in the trailer

Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound

The new Raid, Discordant Sound, is end-game content designed to challenge the highest-level strike teams and is unlike anything you’ve encountered before in the game. As you and your friends descend into the mines within Mena Ngai, the Great Mound, you’ll face elite enemies and puzzles that will require serious coordination to progress.

Our story picks up directly after the events of “War for Wakanda.” Shuri, the newly appointed Queen Regent, informs Black Panther and the Avengers of a new threat that could destroy Wakanda. Corrupted Vibranium has infested the Great Mound and is spreading through the Wakandan jungle, heralding the return of the sonic monster Klaw. Our Heroes find Mena Ngai swarming with Klaw’s forces and a large sonic barrier blocking the entrance to the mines. Wakanda’s greatest warriors join forces with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to stop the giant Klaw from realizing his devastating vengeance against Wakanda.

Your strike team will encounter all-new enemies, environments, and puzzles never seen before in Marvel’s Avengers that will test your mind, combat prowess, and cooperative teamwork skills. You’ll have to delve into the Mound yourself to find all its secrets and earn its rewards!

Game System Updates

In addition to bringing players our first ever Raid, we’re also making some major updates to the game systems. For the first time, we’re raising the maximum Power Level (PL) from PL 150 to PL 175.

Shipments

Our brand-new Shipments system provides an exciting new way to collect and earn some of our coolest cosmetics. Shipments will contain a randomized collection of cosmetics and resources that update on a rotating basis, but you’ll be able to see everything in a shipment before you decide to spend your hard-earned Units. Best yet, opening 100 shipments in a cycle will guarantee a top-tier reward. Any duplicates of cosmetics you’ve already unlocked are converted into Fragments. Shipments can be bought with earnable Units, and you can earn a free one every day through multiplayer play.

Spider-Man

PlayStation players, assemble: Spider-Man is joining your roster! Our team has been hard at work crafting an all-new Hero Event for Marvel’s Avengers, exclusively for PlayStation.

In the Spider-Man: With Great Power Hero Event, Peter Parker partners up with the Avengers to stop AIM from acquiring technology that could make their Synthoid army unstoppable. Spider-Man forms a tentative friendship with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow while learning the new dynamic of working in a team. Our Peter Parker is a conscientious and cautious early-20-something Hero who is still adjusting to balancing his double life as Spider-Man.

You can read more about the published blog post from the devs here.

Outside of Spider-Man and the Raid, there are new activities players can dig under as well, which should add some variety for heroes across the world. Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Call of Duty Endowment Veterans Day Giving Campaign Raises $1.75M

This November, one of the biggest non-profit organization campaigns for veterans in the US made huge strides as the Call of Duty Endowment Veterans Day Giving Campaign raised $1.75 million in funding. The funds were raised through a three-week in-store round-up campaign by Pilot Company and its guests, and will go towards the more than 3,000 service members in their search for employment.

Related Reading: Call of Duty: Vanguard Review (PC) – Familiar Territory

The amount raised is more than triple the original 2021 goal of $500,000, which is incredibly benefitting for veterans and their service. Shameek Konar, CEO of Pilot Company, had this to say (via press release):

“We’re proud to support military service members and their families every day with a year-round discount at our stores. For Veterans Day, it was important that we do something special to not only thank Veterans, but also support them. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our guests and the hard work of our team members to raise this record-setting amount for the Call of Duty Endowment that will help thousands of Veterans find their next career.”

Call of Duty Endowment Veterans Day

Pilot Company has partnered with the Endowment since 2019 with the overall goal of securing employment for 100,000 Veterans by 2024. The campaign ran from October 25 to November 15, in which 750 participating U.S. travel centers raised the overall total of $1,756, 461.

Dead Cells Update 1.29 Patch Notes; Deployed for Everyone Is Here This Nov. 29

Motion Twin has released the Dead Cells update 1.29 patch this November 29, which brings the “Everyone Is Here” title update to consoles! This patch was released on PC last week, but is now available for the console versions of the game.

Dead Cells Update 1.29 Patch Notes | Dead Cells Eveyrone Is Here Update Patch Notes:

How do you get this free stuff?

You’ll find a book of clues in the opening area – figure out the riddles within and complete the challenges to unlock fresh outfits!

You’ll also find lore rooms dotted around the place, hiding bizarre and powerful weapons from other worlds…

If you want the full details of everything right now then check out the patchnotes and the little summary below, if you want to keep some mystery then download the update and get into it!

Hollow Knight

The Knight was a bit too shy to show themself, so you won’t be seeing them running around the island, but their trusty nail is here 🙂

The Pure Nail can attack upward and downward. Attacking downward while airborne causes you to bounce on your enemies, dealing critical damage.

Hyper Light Drifter

Laser guns are finally in the game! The Drifter wields their trusty energy sword/gun combo, ready to wordlessly slay more monsters.

The Hyper Light Gun marks its targets while also dealing damage. The Sword deals critical damage to the marked targets, increasing with the number of gun marks on the target. Sword hits also recharge the gun’s ammo, which doesn’t recharge passively.

Blasphemous

The Penitent One is here. Mea Culpa…

Crush the Face Flask on your forehead, dealing low damage to yourself and transforming 35 percent of your missing health into recovery.

Guacamelee

The luchador Juan arrives, with a feathery surprise up his non-existent sleeve…

Channel your chicken spirit with the Pollo Power, turning into a chicken for a few seconds while firing several explosive eggs around you.

Skul: The Hero Slayer

Tear your way through hordes of enemies as Skul, slaying mobs with a trusty bone club.

Smash enemies with a bone club. Hitting with the second attack enables a whirlwind attack that deals critical damage.

Curse of the Dead Gods

That’s right, mutton chops are in Dead Cells, we have now accomplished everything that we set out to do when we started this. Shut it all down.

Slash twice with a machete. The third attack uses the pistol to bump and inflict critical damage to nearby enemies. Holding the attack button charges a slow and powerful ranged attack.

That’s it for the content, there’s a few of the usual QoL fixes and what not too, so check out the patchnotes if you’d like to know more about that.

If you haven’t had the chance to play Curse of the Dead Gods, Skul: The Hero Slayer or Guacamelee 2, then we are running a bundle with them on Steam from 10am PT so go fill your boots and show some love for the indies!

We’ll be back soon with some more news, hope you enjoy the update and as always please don’t hesitate to leave us feedback 🙂

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Progression Fix “Top of the List” for 343 Industries

Despite the glowing reviews across players worldwide, there is no doubt that Halo Infinite is suffering a bit because of its multiplayer progression, which has been described by most of the playerbase as too grindy and stingy. That said, developer 343 Industries has addressed these issues, with Head of Design Jerry Hook taking to Twitter to state that the Halo Infinite multiplayer progression is at the “top of the list” of things that they will be tweaking first.

In a Twitter thread sharing his thoughts on an indie title called Len’s Island, Jerry Hook also mentioned that he is still playing Halo, stating that he is “feeling everyone’s pain on progression.”

Yes I am still playing Halo and feeling everyone’s pain on progression. We are back at it next week and this will be top of my list with the team.

343 Industries have already tried to implement a few changes in order to fix the slow multiplayer progression, but it’s apparent that those are not enough for a lot of players. It will be interesting to see what more they can do in order to please their growing playerbase, as the long-awaited single-player component heads ever closer to release.

In other Halo news, a physical copy of Halo Infinite has already been spotted online, more than a week ahead of the game’s official launch on December 8.

That’s about it for the patch.

In case you missed it, the last major patch on consoles unlocked the frame rates on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as adding features like:

Reconnect Support

Update 1.7 brings with it the introduction of the Reconnect feature – the ability to reconnect to a Bounty Hunt mission in cases where your connection has been lost or the game has crashed. There are two ways in which this will attempt to restore the connection:

  • “On the Fly” 60 second reconnect:
    • In instances where you lose connection to the server, but the game client is still running, we will attempt to restore the connection and get you back into the mission.
  • Game client crash/client restart/kick to main menu reconnect:
    • In instances where either the game client crashes, or if you restart the game while in a mission, a prompt will appear which will give you the option to reconnect to the mission or abandon your hunter.
    • This prompt will show the remaining mission time, the current state of you and your teammates:
      • Alive.
      • Downed – can be revived.
      • Dead – Redskulled/cannot be revived.
      • Burning while downed (better hurry, you might be able to get back and put them out!).
