Visual Concepts has released the NBA 2K21 update 1.011.000 June 23 patch that’s out now on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S! It seems this is a current-gen only patch, which means PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC gamers are left out.
It’s a relatively small download clocking in at just 840MB on Xbox, so don’t expect any new content to be included.

If you spot any gameplay-related changes or fixes, let us know what you find down in the comments. For more on NBA 2K, head on over to our hub for the game.

With Battlefield 2042 revealed earlier this month, EA has also mentioned that there’s a closed alpha test scheduled for the game though it’s only open for select people. Today, EA has uploaded a “Battlefield” build on the PlayStation Network!
First spotted by PlayStation Game Sizes, the file size is roughly 20GB for the base game. When we reached out to PS Game Size for clarification, they stated that they came to this conclusion via the game ID, which is EP0006-CUSA28676_00-LOREMIPSUM43KING. Important to note: the Battlefield 2042 Origin leak listed the codename of BF 2042 as “Kingston,” while the data ID of the file includes “KING” in it as well. While this certainly isn’t much to go on, our very own James Lara did a bit more digging into this file, and upon inspection he discovered that the pronunctiuation text file does confirm that this is indeed Battlefield related.

🔸 EA Game – Alpha Version (i think Battlefield 2042)
— PlayStation Game Size (@PlaystationSize) June 22, 2021
Also of note, there is also EA Play set for next month, where Battlefield 2042’s new mode will be revealed. Could a beta announcement be part of the show, too? We do know that there will be a beta, perhaps we’re getting it sooner than we think? If so, could this be the alpha or beta file of Battlefield 2042 now uploaded to the PlayStation Network?
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this and will update our readers if we spot anything else. Those who might know more, send us a news tip, and we’ll be sure to credit you.
Xbox players best pay attention to a big update Xbox Support has announced, as Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox returns to its standard digital refund policy effective on July 6.
We will be returning to our standard digital game refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 6th for both new and existing purchases. For more policy details, go to: https://t.co/HDp52FoKc1
As detailed on the Xbox support website, Cyberpunk will be returning to its original refund policy for digital purchases now that CD Projekt red continues to fix and address the numerous technical issues of the game.
The team at CD PROJEKT RED continues to work hard to improve the experience of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox players and has made a number of updates. Given these updates, Microsoft will be returning to our standard digital game refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 on July 6 for both new and existing purchases.
As previously mentioned, Cyberpunk 2077 made its long awaited return to the PS Store following its controversial and somewhat disastrous launch late last year. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game suffered numerous glitches and bugs — necessitating CD Projekt Red to apologize and address that they will be working on updates as well as accepting refunds from customers dissatisfied with the product. This caused Sony to pull the game from the PS Store, but it has officially returned and you can read about that here.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC, with a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S coming some time in the future.
In case you didn’t know, a new Dungeons & Dragons game has launched this week titled “Dark Alliance.” Compared to past games in the fantasy franchise, this one has a more action-oriented slant than RPG. Before the game launched, however, MP1st had the pleasure of talking to Tuque Games where we asked about local co-op, crossplay, and lots more.
Answering the questions is François Champagne, Lead Mission Designer.
MP1st: How will “Emergent Combat” differ for those who are more precise with what they’re doing? Will there be moves excluded from this playstyle (more button-mashing), than being precise?
François Champagne (FC): At the easiest levels of difficulty, players can survive with simple button-mashing, but on higher difficulty settings, knowing when to parry and what move does what and when and how to chain moves together is pretty much a requirement. The most advanced moves require the right input at the right time to be chained, so button-mashing will limit the number of combos a player can pull off on higher difficulty settings.
MP1st: We know there’s no local co-op, but can people play in a party solo with the team members controlled by AI?
FC: The is no friendly AI in Dark Alliance but we will be bringing two-player couch co-op to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC hopefully with the first free DLC this summer. We’re investigating how to support two-player couch co-op on PS4 and Xbox One after that.
MP1st: Will the game always need to be online?
FC: No, the game doesn’t always need to be online. It is possible to play offline and complete the entire game in solo mode.
MP1st: Will there be different settings like outdoors and such or are areas tied to dungeons?
FC: We have many different locales and environments in the game, both interior and exterior. The game isn’t designed to be open world; however some levels are more open and can be explored, but they all follow a similar mission structure and flow.
MP1st: Will there be towns where players can pick up quests, sell items and maybe upgrade armor and items, too?
FC: There aren’t towns, but in between missions players can hang out in the base camp where they can upgrade armor, sell and purchase items, etc.
MP1st: Will crossplay and cross-progression be available? Or is this something the team wants to do post-launch
FC: There will not be full crossplay, but there is crossplay between similar platforms (i.e., PS4/PS5, Xbox One/XBOX Series X). There is currently no plan to support full crossplay post-launch. If you buy the game for Xbox One or Xbox Series X, there is an infinite transfer between saved games on those consoles if you’re using the same account. For PlayStation, there is a one-off saved game transfer from PS4 to PS5, however this might be delayed until after launch.
MP1st: For some reason, seeing the trailer reminded me of Monster Hunter World, has the studio taken any inspiration from that title/franchise? If so, what?
FC: Maybe it has something to do with our choice to focus the game on the great monsters you will face, but our inspiration came entirely from Dungeons & Dragons. Honestly, the D&D franchise has enough content to explore to keep us inspired for a couple lifetimes.
MP1st: Will the game utilize the DualSense’s special features and if so, in what way?
FC: We aren’t taking advantage of the DualSense’s special features in Dark Alliance.
MP1st: What frame rate and resolution is the studio targeting on PS4 and PS5?
FC: On PS4 you can run the game at 30 FPS at 1080p. On PS5 you can run it at 60 FPS in glorious 4K.
MP1st: The game features something called “short rest” right? Does this come down to a voting option (majority wins) in a multiplayer group session if this will be activated or not
FC: The short rest isn’t a majority vote; any player in the party can trigger and/or cancel the short rest.
MP1st: Given there are loads of levels to progress through and loot, does the title feature an endgame of sorts? Challenges for max builds?
FC: One aspect of building the ultimate companion is to get the best gear, and getting the best gear requires you to play on the hardest levels of difficulty. Mastering the combat system, teaming up with friends and finding the best sets for specific challenges as you tackle the game at the highest difficulty can keep you engaged for a long, long time. And when your main is all geared up and has become the ultimate bad ass, there’s three other companions with completely different fighting styles for you to explore and upgrade as well.
MP1st: Looking at the trailer, it’s clear that the game has a “lighter” tone, compared to say other RPG such as Wasteland and Fallout. I’m all for it, but what was the reasoning going with the more lighthearted approach versus the other?
FC: D&D is a huge license with millions of unique fans that play the game in different forms with different interests in mind. Wizards of the Coast encouraged us to take the characters and setting and to make it our own; we wanted to offer something that stood out as its own thing and the tone we’ve chosen is certainly one of those aspects.
MP1st: We’re seeing a lot of excitement around Drizzt, and for good reason given how iconic his role is in the D&D universe. It’s pretty f-ing amazing to see him star in Dark Alliance, as with the rest of the named cast. Can we expect to see the story stem deeply from the source material? Or is this more of a unique take that the studio is going with?
FC: The story of Dark Alliance takes place after the event of R.A. Salvatore’s The Crystal Shard and is its own thing, but fans who take the time to explore and read all lore entries will recognize the characters and setting.
MP1st: We couldn’t help but notice that the trailer theme music is from Ozzy Osborne, it would be a shame if he didn’t make a surprise cameo of some sort in Dark Alliance, “wink” “wink”. Can we expect to see one? What about from other characters deeply rooted in the D&D universe, you think long time fans will be surprised to see some of them outside of the ones revealed?
FC: It would indeed be awesome. Sadly, the technology that would allow us developers to render Ozzy in all of his required glory hasn’t been invented yet. As for other characters, I’m not at liberty to say.
We’d like to thank Tuque Games for taking the time out of their busy schedule to answer our questions, Dark Alliance is available now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC. You can read our review of the game here.

With today’s new Overwatch patch, Blizzard Entertainment has not only released a new set of hero tweaks, but more importantly, Overwatch crossplay has been implemented on all platforms!
If you’re wondering how to enable Overwatch crossplay, we’re here to help.
How to Enable Overwatch Crossplay:
Prepare Your Account
All console players will be required to make a Battle.net account and link it to their console (Xbox, PSN, Nintendo) account. PC players do not need to take this step – You already have a Battle.net account. Upon launching the game, you will be prompted to link your console account to a Battle.net account. Follow the steps below to create a Battle.net account, then link your console game account to your Battle.net account.
The QR code may be scanned with a mobile app to take you to the linking webpage, which will be pre-populated with the code provided in-game
Log in with your Battle.net account credentials to finalize the connection between your console game and Battle.net accounts
You will receive a message in-game that notifies that your account is now successfully connected
Exit and relaunch Overwatch
Voila! That’s it! Easy, right? Don’t forget, if you already have an existing Battle.net account, you can use that one which means one major step of this process is already done and over with.

Event Interstellar Insanity
You made it! The moon landing was performed without any complications! Well, almost… Anyway, this research station has gone quiet for a while so you must check if everything is going well. But considering that communications were cut off a few days ago, the situation does not look good, so don’t let your guard down. On top of that, there are also 2 alternative scenarios that you may experience that will imply an additional challenge level: Arachnophobia and Scavenger weekly modes. But there is some good news! At least you will be able to use the new fancy tools from Horzine Research Group, the HRG Bastion and HRG Blast Brawlers, that were being developed in this station. Final advice: it may take you some time to get used to the moon’s gravity.
New Additions and Highlights
1 New Map
Moonbase
Compatible with Survival, Weekly, and Endless Game Modes.
Takes place on a secret Horzine research outpost on the Moon which you arrived into via the Steam Powered Rocket.
Features low gravity across the map.
2 New Weekly Modes
Arachnophobia
Custom Zed spawn composition, with more Crawlers than usual, which have much more HP than usual.
Stomping capacity has been improved and now it will cause devastating damage, so it’s the recommended way to deal with the Crawlers. Stomping on them will also regenerate a portion of the player’s health.
Making several stomps in a row will grant the player a damage bonus for some seconds.
Scavenger
Traders will be empty of weapons. Armor and Grenades are the only available things to purchase.
The weapon pickups spawn rate is increased.
The weapon pickups pool will vary on each wave, including weapons of different tiers depending on the wave.
4 New Weapons
HRG Blast Brawlers for the Support
An alternative version of the Static Strikers for the Support Perk.
The default fire mode will shoot blasts out of each fist like if they were shotguns.
Some of the melee capacities are kept from the original weapon, like the block and the heavy attacks.
Trader price is 1600 Dosh.
HRG Bastion for the SWAT
An alternative version of the Stoner 63a LMG for the SWAT Perk.
It counts with an energy barrier that can be activated or deactivated with the alt-fire button.
Energy Barrier reduces incoming damage but will deplete if all energy is consumed. The energy automatically refills when the barrier is not active.
Trader price is 2000 Dosh.
FAMAS Masterkey for the Commando and Support
This is a paid DLC weapon. This weapon can be shared amongst players through our weapon-sharing system.
It is a tier 3 assault rifle with an underbarrel shotgun attached. It’s also equipped with an ACOG Zoom Scope.
Default fire mode is 3-round-burst fire from the rifle. Alt-fire is pump-action from the underbarrel shotgun.
Primary and secondary ammo are managed with separated box-fed magazines.
Trader price is 1200 Dosh.
Thermite Bore for the Firebug
This is a paid DLC weapon. This weapon can be shared amongst players through our weapon-sharing system.
It is a tier 4 weapon that launches thermite grenades that pin to enemies and to any surface. They explode after 4 seconds, creating residual fires all around.
Projectiles can be manually detonated with the alt-fire button.

Designer Notes :
We have integrated the skip trader vote system in the Versus game mode, which will make the process of skipping the trader easier and clearer for players. Only the Survivor players will vote.
We were aware of the stun reliability problems of the Crossbow and Compound Bow headshots against Scrakes, and the frustration that it may cause. We have worked on improving the system and now the headshots stun power should be applied correctly to the Scrakes, and stun them with more consistency.
The Compound bow was not in a bad spot but we think that one of their fire modes, the cryo arrow, was not performing as good as the other one, the sharp arrow. So we boosted the explosion of the cryo arrow to allow a higher damage capacity and more effective freeze effect against groups of Zeds. Finally, we increased the ammo capacity of the weapon to encourage the use of more cryo arrows to players that are usually conservative with ammo, regarding that this fire mode does not leave pickup as the sharp arrows.
We made some adjustments on the Hemogoblin to improve its viability as a medic weapon. Apart from the bleeding mechanic, the semi-automatic fire mode was a bit unbalanced, so we increased the damage of the primary fire, and speeded up the reload time. We also increased the healing of each dart to make it slightly more impactful, in a midpoint between the HMTech-401 and the HRG Incision.
We implemented several nerfs to the Berserker and Field Medic perks, mostly related to their surviving capacities, as we had a lot of community reports about both perks overperforming in that aspect, even more if their capacities were combined. We love to see the different synergies between perks and strategies that our community creates, but we would like to have every perk in a similar balance point, and each of the 10 perks to be equally relevant in the game.
Finally, we made some adjustments on Demolitionist’s Extra Rounds and Support’s High Capacity Magazines, to improve their viability, as they were underperforming compared to their counterpart skill and were less prefered by most players.

The latest Marvel’s Avengers update has gone live, and while it prepares player’s for the next major content drop, there seems to be a rather nasty bug that is making player’s IP address display while in-game. For those who stream the game, this means that you may be at risk.
For those wanting to jump back in Marvel’s Avengers to prep for the Cosmic Cube event, you may want to hold off on streaming the game for now and playing with others, as the game is now displaying users home IP addresses. We went ahead on jumped in game to verify this ourselves, which you can see in the image below. Obviously we blacked out our IP for our own safety.
Why is This Dangerous?
You might be wondering why this might be an issue as it’s just a string of numbers. Well for those that don’t know, these numbers are all what people need in order to dox you, meaning they can find your approximate location amongst other things, like DDOS attacks. This isn’t very good at all, and if you are a big streamer this is especially a bigger problem since you’d likely want to keep your place of living private.
What’s Being Done?
Crystal Dynamic has responded that they are investigating this issue, though didn’t explicitly state, nor warn users that their users that their IP addresses were being exposed, and only mentioned a “floating string of text”.
We're aware of the issue where a floating string of text appears on the screen and are investigating. Thank you for the reports!
We expect to see another update real soon, or possibly a rollback of some kind.
Now do note that this most likely wasn’t intentional of Crystal Dynamics as often when a patch is created for a game certain unexpected bugs may appear. It’s not uncommon for a developer to display this information on an internal build, which unfortunately does seem to have transferred in the retail game.
Hopefully this gets patched real soon, otherwise we suggest you don’t stream the game at all, nor play with others. You have been warned.

Fans of the Nier series can pat themselves in the back for making one of the newest releases a best seller, as Nier Replicant Ver.1.22 shipments and digital sales surpass one million units — making another success for Square Enix!
Here’s the announcement of the big news via press release from Square Enix themselves.
Square Enix announced that the worldwide shipments and digital sales of NieR Replicant™ver.1.22474487139…, the critically acclaimed re-telling of NieR Replicant for modern consoles, have surpassed one million units. SQUARE ENIX is also proud to celebrate over six million shipments and digital sales of NieR:Automata™, the action role-playing game developed in collaboration by PlatinumGames Inc. and created by acclaimed director YOKO TARO (Drakengard®), composer Keiichi Okabe (TEKKEN / Drakengard), and producer Yosuke Saito (DRAGON QUEST® X).
Additionally, the Steam version of the game has received an update that optimizes the game’s performance on PC, so Nier fans playing on the platform and want the best visuals and output the game can offer will want to check out the game’s Steam page for details.
Be sure to check out the latest Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22 update 1.03 and its details here.
Nier Replicant is already out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Contrary to earlier reports made, Tekken X Street Fighter is not cancelled as Tekken director and producer Katsuhiro clarifies a subtitle mistranslation was the reason for many to believe that the project died.
In a tweet released by the man himself, Harada shared his frustration about the subtitle problem from the Harada’s Bar video he was featured in and apologized to fans — while also explaining what he actually meant in regards to Tekken X Street Fighter’s state.
First of all, at around 21 minutes and 25 seconds, he says “今はとめてますよ(ima tomete masuyo)” which means “It’s pending state,” similar to “pause” and This is the same word we have been talking about before.
So, “up to 30% of the development was in progress, but now it is still pending”. This is still the status of the project.
Next we are talking about “Artist Collaboration” starting at minute 22. This is a story about how we had a famous artist draw a certain illustration for us during the development of TK x SF (TEKKEN also has illustrations in collaboration with famous artists, something like that). I say “Okura-iri ni nattan dayo na” in Japanese about this illustration collaboration.
For some reason, the meaning of the word “Okura-iri” is “Project died”, but the original meaning of “Okura-iri” is “be shelved” or “put in storage”.
Contracts with artists and collaborators outside of development are subject to terms and conditions, including duration, so we do not own the rights to them indefinitely.
So, this one has been put in storage for now.
You can see that the original Japanese and the English subtitles give a very different impression (so people who can hear Japanese are not particularly interested in this topic thing).
So there you have it! Harada himself officially puts it on the record that Tekken X Street Fighter is shelved for the time being, and our previous report on it being cancelled was cleared up and not true.
Let’s hope the game gets released sometime this console generation.

People Can Fly has released the Outriders update 1.10 June 22 patch, and as promised, this brings changes to Legendary drops and more! Expect a detailed explanation of the changes in loot drops, as well as the complete patch notes below, which inludes big fixes.
Outriders Update 1.10 Patch Notes for June 22:
We’ve made some changes to the Legendary Drops.
Legendary Drop Rates, across the board, increased by 100%
Legendary Level Brackets have been removed, so that all Legendary items can drop at any level.
Previously, some items could only drop from enemies of certain levels or above. For example, the Ugake Cowl could only drop from enemies of level 48 or higher.
Legendary Anti-Duplication System implemented
This system will mean that if a character has an item in their inventory or stash and a duplicate item is rolled, the dropped item will be re-rolled once.
Note that this system does not guarantee that every drop will be unique. Rather, it is designed to provide a second roll at avoiding a duplicate.
Scripted Boss Loot (Chrysaloid, Yagak) are now able to drop all non-class specific Legendary Helmets
This change will improve the variety of items in the Campaign.
Previously, these bosses would only drop a selection of Legendaries (the same pool that was available in the Demo as well as the Cannonball Helmet).
The Luck system has been improved and players should no longer experience very long droughts without a Legendary item dropped during endgame.
The base scaling of Legendaries dropping through higher difficulty levels still applies, so you may will still want to farm as high as possible.
