Agent 47 Is the Perfect Brand Ambassador for VPNs and Internet Security

Agent 47 is a man of few words. To his targets, he’s generally a man of no words and extremely confusing actions, right up until he squeezes the life out of them in some extremely random way, making use of a pillow, fish, or suitcase whilst wearing something ridiculous. However, you can’t argue that he isn’t careful, particularly in what is considered his silent assassin runs. This is a kill in which Agent 47 isn’t detected by anyone. Not even once. As far as the canonical version of Agent 47 is concerned, he’s a ghost. He only kills his targets, and he gets the job down whilst wearing a fabulous suit at the same time. He’s the picture of finesse, quality products, and security.

All of this is what makes Agent 47 the perfect brand ambassador for an internet security or VPN company. These businesses sell security to all users, making browsing online far more secure in an easy-to-use fashion. There’s no need to allow someone else access to your devices or set up an extremely complicated system of passwords you’ll never remember. It’s all about quality, finesse, and security, everything that defines Agent 47.

Let’s look at www.privacysharks.com, for example. The company offers uncompromising internet security through the use of VPNs, virtual private networks to the uninitiated. This service sees users log onto a separate server when browsing online, meaning their IP address has shifted, and their location and private details are much harder to track. While Dianna does most of Agent 47’s legwork, he would never be caught using his one Google account. He’s definitely got a set of burner accounts but will also be using a VPN to mask his location, making it easier for him to study his targets without the fear of being caught.

Not to sound harsh, but Agent 47 is also the perfect blank slate as far as his appearance goes. He’s got zero identifying features unless you’re looking directly at the back of his head. He’s the personification of how you feel when you’re using a VPN. Sleek and impossibly cool, you could take on the world, and no one would be the wiser. In reality, you’re probably just trying to watch something that’s not available in your region or access a game that’s a bit cheaper somewhere else. Regardless of the action, you feel like Agent 47 as you do it, and that’s what makes him the ultimate face of all security products online.

Since Agent 47’s journey ended in Hitman 3 with him looking for something new to do with his life, there’s no reason he can’t take up a modeling career. After all, he likes to keep himself in shape, has fantastic cheekbones, and is a stunningly handsome man by all accounts. With nothing but time, a bit of work on the side as the epitome of a stealthy internet user could go a long way for him.

  • Preparing a weapon while in Gunslinger can result in being unable to melee.

  • Some inconsistencies may be experienced in terms of sensitivity while using gunslinger mode. Melee and weapon turn speeds are slightly different.
  • Gunslinger: In some cases, players can shoot by pressing melee button after spamming a combination of different actions.
  • Unlocking a legendary item can often change the order of items in the list when modifying your loadout.
  • Tutorial: Consumable replenishment may be incorrect after respawning.

  • In some cases, the crosshair for the throwing knives can disappear during gameplay.

  • Spectator mode: Aiming state of the player does not always line up with what is visible in spectator mode.
  • Shooting a hive bomb that is floating on the water (with a shotgun) can result in multiple instances of the swarm.
  • Challenges: Hunters that are damaged by other players but receive a killing blow from AI count towards the total. This is not intended and should only add to the total when the killing blow is caused by a player.

  • Gunslinger: In some cases, players can shoot by pressing melee button after spamming a combination of different actions.
  • In some cases, a looted item will still appear on the blue boxes in Quickplay even after another player has taken it. You will not be able to interact with these items.
  • In some cases, after being revived or if a weapon is swapped with a Winfield equipped, the server will register might register that it has no ammo.

  • Performing multiple specific actions at once can result in players unintentionally standing when in a crouched position.
  • In some cases, the clones of the Assassin may become stuck and will not attack players.
  • In some rare cases, the spider may become stuck beneath the floor after jumping on a player.
  • Bleeding damage ticks do not register on the death screen in the damage history.
  • In some cases, it may not be possible to melee with the Bomblance if you try to do so at the same time as releasing from ADS.
  • Performing multiple specific actions at once can result in players unintentionally standing when in a crouched position.
  • In some cases, cancelling a reload will cause you to melee instead of shoot in cases where the right mouse button is held down.
  • In some cases, your health bar will remain onscreen even though it appears to have no damage. This is caused by having been slightly burned but it does not display correctly. A small amount of damage will refresh this and show the correct information.
  • Trials: In some cases, when replaying an earlier trial mission, you might spawn in with less health chunks than intended.
  • In some cases, weapon shadows might appear pixelated when entering/leaving Darksight.
  • In some cases, where all consumable slots are full, you may not be able to purchase consumable items other than the one in the first slot.
  • In some cases, switching to another weapon (looting) can result in the dropped weapon falling under the floor.
  • In some cases, cancelling a reload will cause you to melee instead of shoot in cases where the right mouse button is held down.
  • In some cases, while in the “waiting for players” screen, it is possible for AI to attack.
  • In some cases, the banish state and extraction state can show the incorrect details. This is purely a visual issue. The normal status will continue as intended in the background.
  • Quickplay: Picking up a small weapon while performing a switch to a larger weapon results in swapping the wrong item.
  • In some cases, crows may react to player noise later than intended. If there is a lot of occlusion between you and the crows, they can also be hard to hear.
  • In some cases, after changing fire modes on the Winfield Aperture, it is not possible to ADS.
  • Poison effects from the hive and spider can persist even after their intended duration (poison bug).
  • Alt tabbing in and out repeatedly can result in losing control of your hunter.
  • Some weapons allow for two heavy melee attacks to be performed in quick succession before losing any stamina.
  • In some cases, using ladders can teleport players or cause them to become stuck in other assets.
  • A potential stall can occur when banishing a boss.
  • Some players may encounter stuttering issues. We are actively investigating these issues.
  • Beartraps placed on window frames can cause issues with vaulting through the window.
  • In some cases, weapons will come out of ADS randomly.
  • In some cases, you may encounter desyncs between the client and server when walking on edges/slopes.

Blue Box Game Studios Says Abandoned Won’t Run on PS4 Because of Visuals, Plans to Host Q&A to Clear Rumors

Looks like the mystery behind BLUE BOX Game Studios’ upcoming PS5 exclusive, “Abandoned” is nearing its full reveal as the studio has announced that they will be hosting a Q&A to clear up any rumors, along with revealing other tidbits of information.

Taking to Twitter, Blue Box Game Studio announced that they would be hosting a live Q&A session in order to clear the air and set expectations for their upcoming game, Abandoned.

For those not in the know, for the last couple of months fans have been speculating that the studio, Blue Box Game, was in fact a shell company that was secretly being ran by none other than Hideo Kojima. The community was quick to point out many oddities in the game’s announcement, and a recent tweet (now deleted) made by Blue Box fueled this by giving a hint to the game’s true title. The hint stated that the game started with a S and ended with a L, which made speculators go into a frenzy as many assumed this was Silent Hill, an IP owned by Konami and one that Hideo Kojima was previously going to work on.

Well, seems this isn’t the case (if it’s still to be believed,) as Blue Box has stated on multiple occasions that people should not set their expectations for it, and that the IP is owned by Konami.

Furthermore, the studio also revealed that the game is focusing on emulating real-life, and that it won’t be possible to run on the PS4 with it’s visuals.

Sadly, no date was given for exactly when this Q&A session may take place, though it may be rather soon seeing that the studio is gearing up to release a app to showcase Abandoned this Friday. According to the developers, this will be running in real-time on the PS5. This will be the first time anyone has done something like this, so it will be very interesting to see how it turns out.

Abandoned is currently set to release later this year, and is exclusive to the PS5.

DICE Vague on Battlefield 2042 F2P Mode, Says “More Announcements” Coming Down the Line

With Activision striking gold with Call of Duty: Warzone and its free-to-play (F2P) model, could EA be following the same route with Battlefield 2042? While there’s no announcement or confirmation of a Battlefield 2042 F2P mode, the studio’s replies to it have us here on MP1st thinking.

YouTuber Lossy has released a new video where he revealed that during the EA Game Changers event where Battlefield 2042 was revealed, content creators such as himself asked DICE on a Battlefield 2042 F2P mode. The DICE dev/rep at the event didn’t give a definitive “no,” and mentioned that they (DICE) weren’t going to talk about a F2P mode then and there, but that “more announcements will come” further down the line.

While this is in no way a confirmation that a F2P mode is coming to Battlefield 2042, I wouldn’t be surprised if EA decided to release one for it. You can watch the entire video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USHcViNSnN0

Don’t forget, there is a new mode set to be revealed next month during EA Play!

Battlefield 2042 will be released on October 22 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Tekken X Street Fighter Has Been Cancelled According to Katsuhiro Harada

It looks like the fate of one of the most anticipated crossover games has sadly been revealed, as Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Tekken X Street Fighter has been cancelled according to Katsuhiro Harada — putting an end to a long in development game that never saw the light of day outside of teasers and screenshots.

In the latest episode of Harada’s bar, the legendary Tekken director and producer said that the Bandai Namco side of the crossover and follow-up to Capcom’s 2021 game Street Fighter X Tekken was about 30% done — yet ultimately production stopped in 2016 and the game lingered in developmental hell before it ultimately got cancelled.

“Development stopped but we got about 30 percent done”

“We even had motions, which you can see reflected in Akuma.”

As Akuma was a guest fighter in Tekken 7, seeds were already planted for Tekken X Street Fighter. Harada stated the team worked hard and wanted to continue making the game, but ultimately things didn’t work out as planned.

“We were working really hard on that, we really were. Wish we could show you the models and stuff. We had really nice models. I really wanted to show them Chun-Li. I wanted to show you guys all the characters. We were pretty confident.”

“We wish we could show you them eventually, but Street Fighter belongs to Capcom so we can’t do it on our own.”

While it is sad that Tekken X Street Fighter isn’t being made anymore, fighting game fans can rejoice and get their crossover fix as Kazuya Mishima has been revealed as the next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Rumor: EA Working to Revive “An Established IP”

It looks like one of Electronic Arts old properties may be making a comeback, as EA is rumored to be working to revive “an established IP” — which means that one of their long dormant franchises could be in for a long overdue revival.

According to Games Beat journalist Jeff Grubb, an unannounced Electronic Arts title is slated to be revealed during an EA Play Live event — which is scheduled to be held on July 22.

While the specifics about what exactly the project is were not given, Grubb stated that the project is an established EA property and clued in with his words that it could be a familiar IP that longtime EA players may recognize.

“I think you’ll be happy.”

“We’re going to see it… if we’re not dead first”.

From his choice of words, Grubb may be implying that the long dormant Dead Space series may be the EA IP that’s getting a revival. This has been corroborated by Eurogamer as well as VGC, which all hint that it could be a Dead Space revival and that the project is under the development of EA Motive.

Take it with a grain of salt and it could still mean it could be any other franchise under Electronic Arts, yet the last mainline Dead Space game released was Dead Space 3 in February 2013 — and any follow-up or sequel after that game was shelved due to the closure of developer Visceral Games.

As Electronic Arts prepares for their EA Play Live showcase on July 22, the company is still recovered from a hack attack that saw the Frostbite source code and more stolen — which you can read about here.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Update 1.08 Adds Native 4K on PS5

Kaiko has released the Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning update 1.08 June 21 patch, and this adds native 4K resolution when playing it on the PS5 and other fixes! For the full list of changes, head on over for the patch notes below.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Update 1.08 June 21 Patch Notes:

Here’s what’s new according to the console update history:

  • Issues that could lead to broken Quests fixed.
  • Controller Sensitivity improved.
  • Stability improvements.
  • Graphical glitches fixed.
  • Loremaster Achievement fixed.
  • Native 4K resolution when running on PS5

That seems to be it. If you haven’t played the game yet, you can check out our review where we state, “As a whole if you haven’t explored the world of Kingdoms of Amalur, this remaster is a solid introduction to the franchise. While this remaster won’t give players who have already explored the world enough reasons to jump back in, it’s still a good game, particularly if you’re looking for an RPG to sink your teeth into. Combine that with the DLC, the Legend of Ded Kel, and Teeth of Narros, included in this package, and you have an excellent value proposition, even if the experience can be uneven at times.”

Ghost of Tsushima Updated Box Art Drops “Only on PlayStation” Wording, New Studio Branding Color

It seems that a new box art for Ghost of Tsushima has been pushed out, adding Sony’s new PlayStation Studio logo all while removing the mention that the game is only on PlayStation, which could mean that the game is headed to PC.

As spotted on Amazon, there is a new box art for Ghost of Tsushima that has added some new marking. For starters, the new box art now features the the new PlayStation Studio logo, although it comes in black rather than the previous white one that was used. Furthermore, there is now mention of the new multiplayer component that was added in the 1.1 update for Ghost of Tsushima. What is even more interesting, is that the game no longer features the “Only on PlayStation” text that was found on top of the case.

For comparison, this is the old box art.

Do note that this doesn’t mean the title will be available on other platforms, as Sony recently dropped the “Only on PlayStation” marking with recent PlayStation exclusives, such as Spider-Man Miles Morales. Still, we wouldn’t be surprised if down the road that Ghost of Tsushima did in fact release on PC. Sony has been rather opened about bringing more PlayStation exclusives over to PC, with Days Gone being the most recent. This would certainly make for a great addition for PC gamers, although we don’t actually expect to see this any time soon if we are honest, though that is anyone’s guess.

About Ghost of Tsushima:

In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan. As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands as one of the last surviving members of his clan. He is resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima is currently only available for PS4, with a FPS update releasing recently for improved performance on the PS5 via backwards compatibility. The title has received exceptionally high praise, with our review giving it a 9.5. Ghost of Tsushima also won our game of the year award for 2020

Dungeons & Dragons Dark Alliance Review – Dungeon Fighter

You know, anyone who’s played a game of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) understands just how much it’s driven by imagination, and how important role playing is to the foundations of campaigns. These worlds, crafted by dungeon masters are so rich in details, that it’s hard to find a video game that could offer an experience such as it.

Games like Baldur’s Gates come close at feeding that crave, and for good reason, as it’s world is large with near complete freedom to the players. You can be whoever you want and do whatever you please. It’s as close as a D&D representation that one could get. So of course, with Tuque Games’ Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance there was a lot to be skeptical about it, but in reality it’s a D&D game not meant to give you freedom, but instead tells the story right from the action viewpoint. It’s the type of game that you would you imagine if you played directly from the perspective of those fighters, which honestly sounds like an awesome idea. Does it live up to that awesome idea though? Read on for our Dark Alliance review.

A World Plucked From D&D

You know I’m always a bit more generous when it comes to visuals on a budget tier game, because I know fully well that it isn’t a triple AAA game trying to blow everyone away in it’s visual department. I’ve kind of grown to expect them to look “ugly,” but in the case of Dark Alliance I am pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous the environments look.

Dark Alliance Review Screen 1

All the levels in Dark Alliance come with rich diverse environments that are high in details. One stage you’ll be exploring an icy cavern, filled with poisonous liquids oozing from the floor, while another ventures into a lava-filled hellhole. There were scenes where I would stop for a moment and just take in, as a lush amount of colors, and distinguishable structures filled it. Not once during my playthrough did I ever feel like I had already played through an area.

This is one pretty looking game with some very interesting locations, so much so that they feel like they’re directly plucked from D&D. The developers capture the spirit of the universe perfectly, and there’s a lot of lore to be found it in it alone. If you aren’t rushing through battles, you can catch short conversations that goblins will have with one another, talking about some of the backstory and such.

I’ll say Dark Alliance isn’t all too heavy on narrative in regards to shoving it in your face. I know that’s not what a lot of D&D fans may be hoping for, but I do like how it’s handled with some backstory provided here for each level, and a cutscene at the start and end that introduces the big baddy of each area. Some are pretty funny to with their crude humor.

On a performance level, the game holds very well in gameplay on the PS5, even during it’s action packed moments. The one thing I will point out is that there appears to be some effects that are rendered in 30 frames-per-second (or lower) rather than 60fps. Not a whole lot mind you, but if you see a flag that’s waving in the wind, you’ll definitely notice there is some choppiness to it. Even some of the character abilities sometimes look like that, but they move so fast it’s hard to really notice.

Dark Alliance Review Screen 2

What you will notice, however, are the choppy cutscenes. While they certainly look good, and are well animated, it’s hard to really stay focused on them when they’re playback like some sort of PowerPoint slide. They get really bad, with the audio desyncing from them entirely. I’m not sure how something like that got by, but for a game so light in it’s story, it’s a total buzzkill seeing the cutscenes perform so poorly when everything else runs smooth.

Class Building Hindered by the World’s Inhabitants

Dark Alliance features four playable characters, each falling into a specific class and role with those being the Ranger (Duelist/Assassin,) Fighter (Tank, and Archer/Sniper,) and the Barbarian (Assault/Shock Troop). Much like any other class game, each character has their own unique playstyle accompanied with special abilities. For the most part, these characters actually do feel good to play. I started off as the Ranger class because I like being able to move fast and perform a volley of slashes in a short amount of time, and it played just like that.

That’s important for a D&D based game, because you want to feel like you’re living in the shoes of those characters. Being the Barbarian made us feel like we were this massive brick wall with an unyielding force of power. The fighters, which two of the characters were classed as, differed one was focused on being the tank, while the other harnessed range attacks.

All characters, such as it is in an actual D&D game, have their own character sheets that players can level specific attributes to become stronger. Further, there is a passive tree known as Feats (again in D&D) that allow you to passive bonuses, such as increased critical attacks, stamina, and health boost.

And of course you can teach your character different moves. These moves really open up combat, allowing you to perform some awesome moves. Take Drizzt for example, a Drow who harnesses magical dark abilities. A lot of his unlockable moves are focused on just that, with him being able to summon beasts to aid him in combat, summon dark hands, gain vampiric powers, and even send a shockwave of darkness to enemies.

Despite being pre-determined characters, they all felt well crafted and enjoyable to control. They are, in truth, the embodiment of what you would expect one of these D&D characters to play as. Sadly, the world that encompasses these heroes really wants to work against you, as it’s rather janky, at least in co-op.

Take one of the mid-game bosses, The Chief. The Chief is a tough fight, even with a full party of players. But not for the reasons you would think. Being a big soul player and having played and beaten every single one of them, the thought of a game being hard is a much welcomed one. Bosses are hard in those games, but they have mechanics tied to them that work and can be learned.

See that big sword being raised? Well, it means get ready to dodge. Oh, they just finished their third slash? Time to attack. You understand what I mean right They’re hard games, but with mechanics that are meant to teach you. In the case of Dark Alliance, those mechanics exists but they’re hit with so many issues that they’re basically broken.

The Chief doesn’t move very fast, and with his attacks being readable he should have been a very easy fight. Problem is, when it does come time to dodge, characters’ hit boxes felt so janky that you would swear that there was some sort of lag going on. Rolling away with his attack clearly missing would often still be met with a hit. Heck, I had him facing me at times with my co-op companion hitting him from behind, yet when the boss took a forward slash towards me it still manage to hit my buddy from behind him.

This is a huge issue in general, mostly with all the elite-brute types of bosses and enemies. What worse is that the controls felt unresponsive, especially during knockbacks. Big enemies like the giant orcs will knock you down to the ground. Sometimes you can get up right away, but more often then not you’ll be stuck in a standing up animation that takes ages. In fact, they’re so long that by the time you do stand up, the orc is already performing another knockdown attack just for the cycle to continue. This was such a hair puller for me, that we (me and my co-op buddies) eventually decided it was better to run past those enemies types whenever we could. In no instances should your animations feel 10x longer for just standing up than one of the enemies stun attacks. It’s ridiculous.

I’ll admit, this game might be better played alone and offline as most of these issues seemed to be related to the net code, which clearly couldn’t keep up with certain areas such as enemy animation. Heck, playing in co-op a lot of times we stopped and wonder what was even hitting us as we saw groups of enemies moving, but not actually attacking, least according to what was on screen. The issue did persist in solo play, but not as bad.

It doesn’t help that Dark Alliance doesn’t feature any kind of in-game rumbling, at least on PS5. I’m okay if a game doesn’t have it, even if it’s odd nowadays not to have it, but the big annoyance with this is the combat just generally lacks any kind of good feedback. Hitting an enemy just felt like hitting a massive bullet sponge as they sat there and absorbed the damage. Sure they flinch here and there, but you’ll notice them tanking damage rather than reacting to it a lot more than you should.

The A.I. in general is pretty dumb. I mean, I don’t expect top of the class, A.I. that are going to be trying to outsmart you, especially for a game that throws them at you like it’s a Musou game, but I do expect their awareness to at least be there. You could literally run right up to an enemy without them even noticing you, or stand back and kill them off with range. They don’t even notice that their poor ally screaming in pain as arrows pierce their own bodies.

Dark Alliance Review Screen 2

It bums me out that Dark Alliance has some really good things going on for it like the progression, a loot system that actually changes character’s appearances, and the core gameplay of each hero, but the world just feels like it wants to fight against all that. I’m not saying there isn’t fun to be had, because I definitely had some in my solo sessions, but playing in co-op, the game’s biggest selling point just had too many annoyances occurring during combat.

A Dungeon Worth Waiting On

I really wanted Dark Alliance to good, and maybe it will be after some patches. The game looks beautiful and has solid performance, but for being so co-operative focus, there seems to be plenty of net-code and bugs that proved rather annoying. If you do jump in on Dark Alliance, I highly recommend the solo route as you’ll find most of those issues eliminated. But that honestly is an issue in itself, because this is D&D, and how do you recommend someone to play by themselves for a series known to be played in groups?

Score: 6/10

Pros

  • The visuals are nice, with the world filled with stunning environments.
  • Story is decent.
  • Characters all feel unique, and enjoyable to control.
  • Plenty of progression and skills to unlock.
  • Loot is decent, but it’s great that character appearances can change based on it.

Cons

  • Too many annoying issues during co-op.
  • Enemy hitboxes are hit and miss.
  • Enemies will skip animations, and sometimes these will be attacking ones. Made parrying very hard to do.
  • Character’s standing animations take way to long, allowing enemies to stun lock you to death.
  • The A.I. are pretty dumb in general. They will stand and take hits from you sometimes.
  • Hitting an enemy feels like hitting a sponge, and at times even air as there isn’t enough feedback for the players.

Dark Alliance “Emergent Combat” Explained, Button-Mashing Works on Easiest Difficulty

With Dungeon & Dragons: Dark Alliance focusing on combos in combat more than past entries in the franchise, developer Tuque Games has coined a term for the action game’s fighting mechanics which they call “Emergent Combat.”

Speaking to MP1st, we asked Tuque Games how the Dark Alliance Emergent Combat experience be for those who know what they’re doing, as opposed to those who go in with a more “button-mashing” playstyle. Here’s what François Champagne, Lead Mission Designer had to say about it:

MP1st: How will “Emergent Combat” differ for those who are more precise with what they’re doing? Will there be moves excluded from this playstyle (more button-mashing), than being precise?

François Champagne: At the easiest levels of difficulty, players can survive with simple button-mashing, but on higher difficulty settings, knowing when to parry and what move does what and when and how to chain moves together is pretty much a requirement. The most advanced moves require the right input at the right time to be chained, so button-mashing will limit the number of combos a player can pull off on higher difficulty settings.

Hopefully that translates to a gameplay experience that’s both rewarding for newcomers and action vets alike. Button-mashing being a viable option might also come in handy for those who just want to relax with their friends, significant others, kids who don’t game much.

Dark Alliance will be released tomorrow, June 22, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. Stay tuned for our review hitting the site today!
