Announced earlier this week, the latest State of Play stream is happening in a few minutes (9AM Pacific Time / 5PM BST / 6PM CEST), where players will be able to see fresh new Horizon Forbidden West gameplay!

FIFA 21 Update 1.22 Patch Notes for May 27 Update #15

EA has released the FIFA 21 update 1.22 May 27 patch, and this is also called patch #15 by the studio, and was released on PC earlier last week. There are FIFA Ultimate Team changes, as well as audio and video fixes as well.

FIFA 21 Update 1.22 May 27 Patch Notes (#15):

General, Audio, and Video

Made the following changes:

  • Updated CONMEBOL competitions.
    • Updated CONMEBOL Libertadores seeding in Career Mode and Tournaments.
    • Updated CONMEBOL Libertadores and Sudamericana competition structure for Career Mode.
    • Added clubs who qualified for the 2021 CONMEBOL Libertadores and Sudamericana group stages where appropriate and updated rosters for existing clubs.
  • Updated some player portraits, kits, badges, ad boards, broadcast and presentation packages, and interview backdrops.

Addressed the following issue:

  • Addressed further instances of balls not displaying shadows during a match.

FIFA Ultimate Team

Addressed the following issues:

  • After viewing and exiting the Transfer Market Live Search Results for a specific Stadium Club Item Type, the selected Club Item Type filter could unintentionally change.
  • The in-game pause menu incorrectly displayed Squad names instead of Club names.
  • Co-Op match lobbies could sometimes display a placeholder goalkeeper kit instead of the Captain’s selected kit.
  • Some leaderboards did not display an icon representing the player’s platform.
  • [Stadia Only] The Squad UI could incorrectly display that some Player Items were ineligible for the Three Nations Live FUT Friendly.

Career Mode

Addressed the following issues:

  • Elland Road was not a selectable stadium for Leeds United.
  • In some cases, players could still control their whole team as usual when attempting to use the Lock To Player function.

VOLTA FOOTBALL

Addressed the following issue:

  • Placeholder text was visible in a preview thumbnail of a long sleeve white crewneck

Game Ventures Challenges Gamers in the Arts of Speedrunning, Beta Now Live

Have you ever felt so sure of yourself in a video game that perhaps maybe you have broken some sort of record? Or maybe your just a big fan of watching people perform incredible gaming feats? Well do we have some good news for you as notable speedrunner Eric “Omnigamer” Koziel and business partner Kristopher Cost announced today that their community-driven platform, Game Ventures, has officially opened for beta testing!

Game Ventures is a platform that promises ease of access for all users who love pushing the boundaries of what can be done in gaming. Completely driven by the community, users will be able to submit their own challenges known as Ventures, where the community can then face off against each other in hopes of winning the prize money set by the creators.

A little about Game Ventures:

Game Ventures is a platform dedicated to challenging and expanding the idea of what’s possible in gaming. This novel platform enables video game fans to incentivize skilled players to achieve the seemingly impossible.

Game Ventures takes the idea of accomplishment in video game speed and challenge running and creates a unique marketplace where any gaming accomplishment can become a Venture, a user created and funded game-specific goal that has the ability to be improved upon past the initial target. This Venture may come in the form of beating a game in the fastest time, achieving the highest score in a particular game, and more, with any game open to having a Venture created for it.

The original creator of the Venture then funds at least a minimum monetary reward for the completion of the Venture, with other Game Ventures users able to add to the award and raise the stakes for competition. A small fee is added to each funding contribution to cover platform operational costs and development.

Prospective challengers can browse all created Ventures and pick any they’d like to pursue. Users can also track the progress of competitors through related streams on Twitch until the goal is met. Completed Ventures undergo rigorous community-led verification with an emphasis on building a healthy and fair collaborative environment. Upon a successful Venture completion, the winner receives the award in full.

As we were shown in a closed session, setting up a Venture only takes a few steps. This involves setting up bounties for the Venture, which are basically objectives that the community can try to achieve. Best part of this, should you best the objective and do it better than everyone else, you’ll be awarded the monetary reward set by the original contributor. Not a bad deal, and for all you speedrunners and challenge seekers out there this is definitely a great way to earn for your hard work.

Furthermore, Game Venture also supports Twitch integration, a perfect way to help promote your channel! Youtube Integration is hopefully coming at a later date.

Tekken 7 Update 4.20 Patch Notes, Update for May 26 Now Live (Update)

The Tekken 7 update 4.20 is now live on all platforms (PS4, Xbox, PC), and it’s a hefty download clocking in at 2.9GB on Steam. Expect fighter balance changes in this patch.

ff2, is now -9

ws1+2 is a wallbounce

f4 is now a ch launcher as well as the last hit in b1,4 and in 3,1,4.

Last hit in df1,2 now guarantees a f1+2 on ch.

King:

Here’s what I’ve got on Armor King so far. This is based off of what rbnorway had for the last patch, plus my own notes. I apologize if there are errors.

-damage of d+3 buffed from 11 to 14

-f, F+4 start-up frame buffed from 17 to 15 (rbnorway had this one wrong)

-d/f+2,1 block disadvantage buffed from -12 to -6

-d/f+1+2 block disadvantage buffed from -7 to -4

-d+2 block disadvantage nerfed from -2 to -5

-d/b+1+2 block advantage buffed from +3 to +5

-f,f,N,2 block disadvantage buffed from -18 to -14

-Blue Spark Upper block frame buffed from neutral to +1

-the damage of all combination finishers out of Cobra Clutch have been buffed by five points

Feng appears unchanged apart from minor damage buffs; 30>33 damage shoulder, 17>22 damage 1+4 (the stagger low), 26>29 damage WS1-2. The damage is added to the 2, not the 1, so plain WS1 is unaffected.

Lili F3 is now -3 on block, I think it was like -6 before. Her UB1 is a facedown KND, no longer a CH launch. FF3 is an NH launcher, they fall over backwards like with Jin FF3. Her F4 is now a CH launcher, gives a Kazuya CH DF2 type stun. That one Lili main who made a post asking for this will be happy. Her DF1 range was complained about right? If I block a DF1 and backdash as Kazumi, the next one connects with my block. Unsure if new.

Quickly labbed Jin. Didn’t find noticeable changes so far, FF4 DB4 D4 2-1 FF3 B2-1 BF2 strings appear the same.

Leo QCF1 was -2 on hit before, right? -1 now.

Key Paul moves appear unchanged; B1-2 SS3 QCB2 QCB1 F1+2 DF2 etc.

Key Bryan moves appear unchanged. QCB3 DF2 DF1 D2 DB3 D4 3+4 F3 B1 etc.

Asuka DB4 now +3 on CH. Unsure if new. Otherwise seems about the same, looking at key moves

Kazuya B1-2 deals 33 damage now. Wasn’t it 29 before? Other key moves seem unchanged.

Key Josie moves appear unchanged. Hopefully she got something!

Here are some of the known changes via the community:

  • Dragunov got his d2 back
  • Heihachi ws1 is now 13 frames.

Report: Dying Light 2 Release Date Set for December According to Ad

It seems some advertisers may have accidentally jumped the gun a bit early as a new set of them have seemingly appeared online, revealing that Dying Light 2 release date is happening this December. 

When is Dying Light 2 Release Date?

According to an ad spotted on Twitch, Dying Light 2 will be releasing on December on December 7.

Furthermore, according to Twitter user SenpaiDam, Sony is also preparing to launch the option to preorder the game as shown in a captured image.

Typically PlayStation does not allow you to preorder, unless the game has a release date. 

About the game:

It’s been 15 years since humanity lost to the virus.

The last great human settlement exists within an unforgiving, infected world, plunged into a modern dark age. During the day, bandits, factions and starving survivors roam the streets scavenging for scraps – or someone to take them from, by violence if necessary. Chances are, we will most likely see this announced as part of tomorrow’s Dying Light 2 broadcast. It is expected that we will see a brand-new trailer, and given the leak above, it seems we can also expect to see a release date tied to the trailer. 

No further details were uncovered by the ads.

PS5 & PS4 Female Console Owners at 41%, Free-to-Play Games Account for 25% of PSN Store Revenue

With more and more people gaming these days, it’s no surprise that female gamers have ballooned as well. For Sony, though, it has risen tremendously that femaler gamers now own about 41% of PS4 and PS5 consoles.

This fact was revealed by Sony in the company’s investor relation presentation, where it showed how that same figure was just at 18% during the PS1 era, and has more than doubled since then.

In the same report, Sony revealed that the free-to-play (F2P) market has now captured 25% of the PlayStation Store’s revenue! Now that’s a lot of cosmetic items and booster packs!

Not that surprised since huge games like Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends and Fortnite have been able to increase their player bases, and entice them to buy skin packs and whatnot.

In the same report, Sony announced that they are expecting the PS5 disc version to break even next month,

Sony Expects the PS5 Disc Version to Break Even Next Month, Wants Console to Hit Over 50% Market Share

It’s not unusual for a gaming company to be selling at a loss, and in fact most do when they kick off a new console launch, with profits coming in much further down the road. Well it seems that after being on the market for a whole six months, Sony is expecting to no longer sell the PS5 disc version at a loss.

As part of the documents for the Sony Investor Relations Day presentation, the company revealed that they full expect the disc version of the PS5 to break even starting next month. This means that they no longer expect to be selling at a loss, and for every disc version sold they will now profit off the hardware.

Additionally, the company has also stated that they want to capture over 50% of the market share for the PS5 versus the PS4, which sat at 45%.

If this expectation turns into reality for Sony, then that’s one mighty feat, as most consoles sell at a loss for well over a year or more. Of course, the company should first be able to manufacture enough for people to actually buy it first.

Rocket League Update 1.98 Spikes Out for Fixes

Psyonix Studios has released the Rocket League update 1.98 title update, which is purely for fixes! This is a small download, and should be available on all platforms the game is on.

Report: Uncharted 4 Headed to PC Per Sony Investor Relation Presentation

With Sony releasing more and more of the publisher’s games on PC, it looks like another heavy hitter is on its way, as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is headed to PC according to Sony’s investor relation presentation!

In the pdf file, Sony marks Days Gone (already released) and Uncharted 4 as titles coming to PC!

If this pans out, hopefully, the entire Uncharted trilogy is ported to PC as well.

Released back in 2016, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End marks the end of Nathan Drake’s adventures, and acted as the franchise’s swan song.

PC players are in for a treat if Sony does announce this later this year.

Starfield Teased for Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase

Earlier today, Microsoft announced that they would be holding their Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 13. While they didn’t exactly tell us what games would be shown off during the event, they did provide a teaser image featuring some very recognizable characters, more so from the Halo universe. However, for those familiar with Bethesda’s new project, Starfield, it would appear that some of its artwork can also be spotted in the teaser image.

Taking a look at the featured image above, you might notice in the lower left of the planet shape circle some geographical features of what appears to be some lakes and mountains, or canyons. 

As it turns out, this may in fact be from Starfield as the features are identical to an early concept art for the game. Have a look.

As you can you see, what both the images feature basically the exact same lake/river among other noticeable similarities. 

This is certainly an exciting discovery as Bethesda hasn’t spoken much about Starfield since it was first announced back in 2018. It’s been nearly three years since we got a substantial update, with a few leaks cropping up here and there, and now it seems that that studio is finally ready to pull the curtains back.

Hopefully with it being teased, this does mean we will see it at the event and it’s not just put there for the sake of being there. It’s going to be a very interesting showcase, one filled with plenty of questions, mostly regarding whether or not we will see Starfield on PlayStation, or if it has truly become a full Xbox exclusive.

Don’t forget, the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is set for June 13.

Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase Confirmed to Be Combined, Set for June 13

With Microsoft now owning the entirety of Bethesda, it looks like the two are teaming up when it comes to announcements, as the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase has been announced today!

The event is set for June 13, at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET/1 a.m. HKT. People can watch it live via Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

Outside of that date, Microsoft has been mum other than mentioning “world premieres” and “games, games, games,” which means that yep, we’ll hear new game announcements at the event.

Xbox Games Marketing boss Aaron Greenberg confirmed that the event will be 90 minutes long, and focus on games.

What are you expecting to see come June 13? Starfield perhaps? What’s the over and under on Bethesda games being Xbox-exclusives on consoles? Once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.

Report: Full Battlefield 2021 Reveal Trailer Has Leaked

While we posted what appears to be a partial leak of the Battlefield 2021 reveal trailer, it looks like the entire thing has leaked today! Yes, the full Battlefield 2021 reveal trailer that’s planned for sometime in June, can be seen right now!

Watch the entire footage which clocks in at about 1:40 in total run time! You can see the big rocket from previous screenshots, planes, vehicles and more! Sadly, the video is obstructed by that troll face thing, but we’ll take it!

Same as with every leak, treat this one with a bag of salt. Having said that, this does look like the real deal though, and it even flashes the EA and DICE logos near the end, even.

The wait won’t be long now, people! EA is set to reveal Battlefield 2021 this June, and I’m hoping we get a different trailer than this one, and maybe some gameplay?

Monster Hunter Rise Upcoming Update 3.0 Out on May 27, Here’s What’s Coming

Get ready to be bombarded with some new content for Monster Hunter Rise, as the new upcoming update 3.0 will be out on May 27 — and here’s what’s coming to the game!

Here’s the list of new content via press release — from new monsters in Crimson Glow Valstrax and Apex Zinogre to a new ending, standard quests, and more!

Additional Monsters: Crimson Glow Valstrax and Apex Zinogre

Crimson Glow Valstrax

A mutant Valstrax fearsomely dubbed the “Crimson Glow.”
This elder dragon typically secludes itself in the upper atmosphere,
but it has been driven mad by its own rampant energy,
causing it to lash out at anything in its sight.
Once it sights its prey, it swoops down
trampling them beneath its shifting wingblades.

Apex Zinogre
A Zinogre so mighty, it was crowned an Apex.
Its body is covered in scars and wounds as if it had been caught in a storm,
and it’s seemingly always dominated by wrath and terror.
Its forelegs—and their every strike—brim with ferocious sparks.

Various DLCs including layered armor, hairstyles, hunter voices, stickers and pose sets will be newly available.

In addition to the new DLC stuff with the update, Capcom Collabs will start this June — with an Event Quest releasing this mid-June that allows players to obtain layered armor that makes your Palico look like Tsukino from Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. More updates will be announced in the future by Capcom, so stay tuned for those.

BlizzCon 2021 Cancelled, Global Event Planned for Early Next Year

Those looking for Blizzard to showcase more of Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 later this year, that won’t be happening — at least not in an event, as BlizzCon 2021 has been cancelled. And for those wondering, nope, there won’t be a digital version of it either.

Posting on the company’s official site, Saralyn Smith, Executive Producer of BlizzCon, explained that the on-going pandemic has made it difficult for the company and its partners to prep for the event.

Building an in-person BlizzCon is an epic and complex affair that takes many months of preparation—not just for us, but also for the many talented production partners, esports pros, hosts, entertainers, artists, and other collaborators we team up with locally and globally to put all of the pieces together. The ongoing complexities and uncertainties of the pandemic have impacted our ability to properly move forward on many of these fronts, and ultimately we’re now past the point where we’d be able to develop the kind of event we’d want to create for you in November.

However, there is a global event planned for “early next year” that seems to be a hybrid of online and physical (assuming we’re out of this pandemic mess by then).

But we don’t want to let too long go by before we connect with everyone again. So in the meantime, we’re planning a global event for the early part of next year, combining an online show along the lines of our recent BlizzConline with smaller in-person gatherings, and we’ll share more as our plans come together.

While we won’t get BlizzCon 2021, let’s hope that we get smaller, digital shows that showcase the game, which is what happened last week with Overatch 2.

PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2021 Titles Revealed

Sony has today revealed the PlayStation Plus free games June 2021 games, and they’re a good bunch! Star Wars Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5, and Operation Tango are the titles set to become free for members.

PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2021 Games:

Operation: Tango | PS5 version only* 

Team up to save the world in this cooperative spy adventure, challenging you and a friend to join up online** to complete dangerous missions across the globe in a high-tech near-future world. Combine skill sets from different points of view – playing either Hacker or Agent – to overcome asymmetrical challenges, working in tandem with only your voice to link you. Teamwork is crucial, and communication is key! Note: Operation: Tango requires both players to have access to a working microphone.

Operation Tango will be available to PlayStation Plus members until Monday, July 5.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown

Report: Valve Creating Portable Gaming PC, Set for Release This Year

It looks like the folks behind Half-Life and Steam are working on a brand new device that gives their users mobility and on-the-go access, as Valve is creating a Nintendo Switch-like portable PC that’s called SteamPal — which reportedly is set to launch by the end of the year.

According to a report by Ars Technica, the device is an all-in-one gaming PC handheld that will feature a touchscreen, and actual controllers. The device is codenamed “Neptune,” and has been hinted through discussions and panel conversations. Valve boss Gabe Newell hinted at the device during an appearance at a New Zealand school — where he was asked what Valve’s plans are for future console video games and gave an unexpected response instead.

 “You will get a better idea of that by the end of this year… and it won’t be the answer you expect. You’ll say, ‘Ah-ha! Now I get what he was talking about.'”

The existence of the SteamPal got more buzz when Valve uploaded new hardware-related code to its latest version of Steam just recently. The portable device is said to run a large number of games via Steam using Linux, and it has been in development for quite some time. Hopefully we’ll find out more details as E3 approaches and begins next month.

Same as with every rumor, treat this one with a grain of salt. Though given we’ve already seen Valve enter the hardware sector with Steam Machines, the company pushing a new handheld gaming device really wouldn’ be that surprising.
