Official Far Cry 6 Trailer Revealed

As expected, and while we got the Fary Cry 6 trailer leaked yesterday, this time, we have the English version to pore over! Revealed during the Ubisoft Forward digital event, check out official trailer for Far Cry 6 below.

We already know about it, but it’s worth repeating that Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito as the main baddie is a great fit.

According to the Far Cry 6 leak store listing leak, the game takes place on the island of Yala, a tropical paradise where time has stood still for a number of years. This is due to dictator who rules over the island, Anton Castileroux. The ruthless dictator plans to let his son rule over the island in his place, restoring the country’s former glory at all costs. However, the relentless oppression that the people have seen has pushed them to rebel, and now the island is in chaos.

Players take on the role of a character called Dani, who is a native of Yala. While the store listing gets a bit hard to understand at this point, it seems to say that the character’s full name is Dani Rojas, and he’s just become a freedom fighter in the wake of the people’s rebellion.

Hyper Scape Beta Starts Today, Beta Gameplay Trailer Released

During today’s Ubisoft Forward digital event, Ubisoft has announced that the free-to-play battle royale with baked in social elements is hitting open beta today! Yes, the Hyper Scape beta is now available to everyone starting today!

In addition to that, a new cinematic trailer has been released explaining the lore behind Hyper Scape and what people are fighting for.

Once more details regarding the Hyper Scape beta is revealed, we’ll update the post. 

Update: Ubisoft has sent out the press release detailing the Hyper Scape beta!

During this Open Beta, Hyper Scape will introduce Crown Rush Solo, a  100-player free-for-all version of its main Battle Royale mode, on top of the previously available 3-player squad mode Crown Rush Squad, The Open Beta will also feature two new limited time modes: Hack Runner Squad and Turbo Mode Squad. Additionally, the Open Beta includes one new hack and weapon, Shockwave and Harpy respectively. These additions build on the previously available nine weapons and nine hacks from the Technical Test.

Hyper Scape’s Open Beta will also introduce all new features to the innovative Crowncast Twitch extension, including Battle Pass progression by watching Hyper Scape live streams on Twitch and the ability for streamers to invite viewers directly into their squad from Twitch chat. These additions are on top of the previously available Viewer Events, which allow all Twitch viewers the opportunity to have a real-time impact on battle by voting on events that affect all contenders within a match, such as Low Gravity, or Infinite Ammo. The Open Beta introduces a new Event called Haste that increases the game’s speed for all contenders.

The Hyper Scape Open Beta will include a free 30 tier battle pass alongside an in-game shop offering additional customization options. All Open Beta progress and items will carry over through future live phases and into the full launch, across PC and console. Hyper Scape will launch its Season One for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this summer.

New Watch Dogs Legion Gameplay Overview Revealed

During Ubisoft’s Ubisoft Forward digital event, the publisher has unveiled a fresh new Watch Dogs Legion gameplay video! While we got some gameplay shown last year, Ubisoft is showing some brand-new sections and of course, the latest version of their open-world action game.

Ubisoft Forward Stream – Watch the Announcements as It Happens

While we don’t have E3 this year, that hasn’t stopped game companies from conducting their own digital events to announce new games, showcase gameplay and more. Today, it’s Ubisoft’s turn! Check out the Ubisoft Forward stream below the moment it starts at 12 p.m. PDT/3 p.m. EDT/3 a.m. HKT!

What are we expecting to be announced? Well, given a lot of the planned stuff has already leaked, we’re expecting to see the English version of the Far Cry 6 trailer that was leaked, maybe some gameplay too. In addition to that, an official look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (better than the leaked footage), and maybe a new Prince of Persia announcement too.

Titanfall 2 PC Player Count Skyrockets After Being Released on Steam

With EA now releasing games on Steam, it seems this has revived some of the older games released this generation. One of these said games is Respawn’s Titanfall 2, as the the Titanfall 2 PC player count has skyrocketed to the top of the charts.

Over on Reddit, the official PlayTracker account was attributed since it mentioned that Titanfall 2 hit the #5 spot in the charts with over 650,000 owners.

While you won’t see anywhere near 650,000 people playing multiplayer, the Titanfall 2 PC player count has risen to over 10,000 players regularly, which is good enough to beat even some Call of Duty and Battlefield games on the platform.

Given how much I adore Titanfall 2, I’m all for this. Could this somehow push Respawn to develop Titanfall 3 though? I wouldn’t hold my breath given the studio’s latest statements about it. Regardless of platform, if you haven’t picked Titanfall 2 up, I suggest you do. It’s possibly the best shooter this generation, which is a fact we touch upon in our Best Multiplayer Shooters of the Decade feature.

This Fan-Made PS5 Commercial Looks Fantastic and Showcases Familiar Characters

With the PS5 out later this year, Sony has slowly trickled out info about the next-gen console. While the marketing push isn’t in full swing just yet, a fan took things on his own and crafted a fan-made PS5 commercial that honestly looks like the real thing.

Reddit user bazarow17 not only made an excellent PS5 commercial, but he even included some of Sony’s most iconic characters! We see the PS5 console, LittleBigPlanet’s Sackboy, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, Kratos and more! Check it out for yourself below.

Far Cry 6 Release Date and Trailer Leaks

Just yesterday, it was confirmed that Far Cry 6 is a real thing! While we’re expecting a Far Cry 6 trailer to be revealed tomorrow during Ubisoft’s event, it seems not only has the trailer leaked, but the Fary Cry 6 release date too!

In the leaked trailer below, it states the release date as February 18, 2021, and it’s confirmed for the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, Stadia, and PC! Check out the trailer now.

UFC 4 Release Date Announced With New Trailer

Following the tease from the UFC this past week, EA has officially revealed the latest UFC game, and it’s titled UFC 4. Alongside that, the UFC 4 release date has been announced for August 14, 2020, and there’s a new trailer showcasing the new Career mode too!

Xbox Boss Says Xbox Series X Games Aren’t Being Held Back by Xbox One

With the Xbox Series X launching this year, Microsoft has pushed for the idea that next-gen games be playable on the current-gen Xbox One hardware. While some gamers might be happy with the idea of being able to play the newest titles on their current-gen platform, those who jump to the Xbox Series X might not feel the same way given the technical discrepancy between the two consoles might mean that Series X games won’t be realized to their full potential just so they’ll be playable on current-gen hardware.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has shot down this notion, and has pointed to how PC titles are playable on different technical specs as one example of how cross-gen games won’t hold Xbox Series X back.

Speaking to GamesIndustry, Spencer states that the idea of games being held back by is “a meme that gets created by people who are too caught up in device competition.”

Frankly, held back is a meme that gets created by people who are too caught up in device competition. I just look at Windows. It’s almost certain if the developer is building a Windows version of their game, then the most powerful and highest fidelity version is the PC version. You can even see that with some of our first-party console games going to PC, even from our competitors, that the richest version is the PC version. Yet the PC ecosystem is the most diverse when it comes to hardware, when you think about the CPUs and GPUs from years ago that are there.

Yes, every developer is going to find a line and say that this is the hardware that I am going to support, but the diversity of hardware choice in PC has not held back the highest fidelity PC games on the market. The highest fidelity PC games rival anything that anybody has ever seen in video games. So this idea that developers don’t know how to build games, or game engines, or ecosystems, that work across a set of hardware… there’s a proof point in PC that shows that’s not the case.

While Spencer wanting everyone to be able to play the latest games is a nice gesture, that might not be appreciated by people forking over hundreds of dollars for the latest Xbox console. Speaking of Xbox Series X games, a games showcase is happening  later this month.

Far Cry 6 Leak Stars Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad

In the wake of E3 2020‘s cancellation, Ubisoft is holding their own live event to discuss their upcoming games and updates. The event, Ubisoft Forward, is set to take place this Sunday. However, in what must be a mistake, a Far Cry 6 leak has been picked up just two days ahead of the event from the PlayStation Store. The leak in question was a store page for Far Cry 6, and featured some explanation of the upcoming game’s story, as well as the title villain, played by none other than Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad.

The listing goes on to explain that Yala is the most expansive playground the Far Cry franchise has even seen, with lush jungles, beaches, and of course the central run down towns and villages. Players will be able to hire companions, and partner beasts will also be a returning feature as well.

Ubisoft likes to iterate on the Far Cry series with every release. Far Cry 5, and the spin-off New Dawn, both pushed the franchise to what I believed to be its limits. Ubisoft is going to need to show something truly special on Sunday if Far Cry 6 is going to capture the hearts and minds of fans once again, particularly since it’s almost certainly coming to next-generation consoles.

Update: Just as we published this article, Ubisoft took their destiny into their own hands and put out the following tweet.

This is obviously an acknowledgement that the Far Cry 6 leak is real, and that the information found so far must be completely correct. Given this turn of events, maybe we’ll even see a reference to the PlayStation Store leak in the final release of the game.

Sony Invests $250 Million in Epic Games, Acquires Minority Stake

It looks like Sony and Epic Games are going to be working much closer together, as the electronics giant has invested $250 million for a minority stake in Epic Games, the company best known for the Unreal Engine, and of course, the mega-hit game, Fortnite.

Note that this won’t affect Fortnite’s availability on other platforms, and Epic Games will be able to publish future titles on other platforms in the future. Sony is acquiring a 1.4% stake in Epic Games, which puts Epic’s valuation at a staggering $17.86 billion!

Here’s what Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida, and Epic CEO and Founder Tim Sweeney had to say about the deal:

It isn’t clear yet what (if any) advantages Sony’s upcoming console the PS5 will get from this deal. Epic’s latest game engine, Unreal Engine 5, is supported by the PS5, and the Xbox Series X.

Apex Legends Update Today July 9 Rolled Out

While players just got a patch for Apex Legends a few days ago that included gameplay fixes and changes, Respawn Entertainment has released an Apex Legends update today July 9, and it includes gameplay fixes. Note that this is a server-side patch, so players won’t need to download anything, and will instantly see the patch applied once they connect to a match.

Official PS5 Box Art Revealed

While we posted some amazing fan-made PS5 box art concepts back in April, Sony has today revealed the official PS5 box art. If you’re looking for a big departure from how games looked like from the PS4, well, you’ll be disappointed (or happy) to see what it looks like for next-gen.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has shared our first look and used Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales as the sample game.

Developer Phoenix Labs has released the Dauntless update 1.32 July 9 patch that makes the overall game file smaller on all platforms, as well as gameplay changes. Check out the full patch notes below.

REPACKAGING

We’ve repackaged the way that Dauntless is stored and downloaded on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This will reduce the size of the download required for future patches and minimize the amount of storage it requires. To accommodate this, patch 1.3.2 will be large for those consoles — around 8 GB — but taking this proactive repackaging step will enable us to bring you more content with smaller downloads, and clear out space from your hard drive.

  • PlayStation 4: Now uses 8.13 GB of storage (down from 16.4 GB)
  • Xbox One: Now uses 7.6 GB of storage (down from 8.7 GB)
  • Nintendo Switch: No need to stress — your download for patch 1.3.2 is a lean 285Mb.

How Certain Practices Have Affected the Gaming Industry

In the last few years, there has been an increased interest among mainstream society and legislative and regulatory bodies on the relationship between gambling and the AAA video game industry. Based on recent reports, the number of gamblers in the UK has quadrupled to over 50,000 in two years, and there’s sure to be a lot of crossover with gamers.

Video games have changed with the increase of “games as a service.” This has seen game shift from a single product that developers release and never touch again, to something that people play for years because of the free support developers now provide over time. In some cases the support comes at the cost of a season pass, but there’s no denying that the content justifies the cost. But certain practices have continued to affect the games industry, and gambling is the most prolific among them.

Loot Boxes

We’ll start with the most intrusive way that gambling has affected the games industry, loot boxes. These are in-game item purchases that comprise a virtual crate, box, or chest rewarding players different game items based on the mechanics of chance and probability. The slot game mechanics aspect in loot boxes is much like that in the lottery game where you purchase tickets to win real money. The low probability of getting a big win encourages players to make multiple purchases to maximize their odds of the same. Loot boxes are quite popular in major titles like Fortnite, and online social games.

The reason that we say that loot boxes are the most intrusive way in which gambling has infiltrated the industry is because of the recent action being called for in the UK. The BBC reported that the House of Lords called for immediate action on loot boxes, having them regulated in the same way as gambling.

The reasoning for this regulation is sound, loot boxes are a game of chance, which brings them under the Gambling Act 2005. Furthermore, the House of Lords declared that if something looks and feels like gambling, it should be regulated as such.

The biggest issue with loot boxes is that they target children, leading some to spend thousands of pounds on nothing more than in-game cosmetics, often in the pursuit of something rare to show off to their friends.

In the UK there are reported to be 55,000 problem gamblers between the ages of 11 and 16. These gamblers are prime targets for loot boxes. While developers and publishers probably aren’t trying to squeeze as much money out of these vulnerable people as they can, it definitely comes across like they are.

Esports Betting

This involves the wagering of outcomes in competitive game contests using real-world currency or real-world monetary value. The largest prize pools in esports betting can, at times, run to over one million dollars, and millions of people watch the contests. Two new gambling forms have been developed for this betting, including internal and external.

Internal gambling for esports is also called skin betting since it involves the wagering of “skins.” It includes virtual images which change a player’s cosmetic appearance in the game. The player can then trade these cosmetic enhancements as digital items between his/her team and even cash them out for real-world value. A third-party grey-market website or platform is used for the wagering of skins on virtual games wherein the skins can be gained or lost.

It’s important to not that while internal gambling might sound safe, it definitely isn’t. A number of CS:GO streamers used to run one such gambling website, and were actively encouraging their viewers to use it. This led to some very serious punishments, since this is still considered to be a form of gambling that minors were taking part in.

There is now a large number of betting bodies and agencies offering “external betting” opportunities. In most instances, the bets placed on these platforms are like those in traditional sports betting. They can, however, be precise and more focused than the latter by using different inherent data.

Livestreams

There is also a growing craze of livestreaming video game content. Several people live-broadcast their video games nowadays. In live poker games online, viewers can talk to broadcasters and directly to players to ask them questions, give advice, and discuss relevant plays. Some platforms even have “home games where they invite viewers to play along broadcasters in large events by wagering their cash against other streamers.
Some streamers now also use gambling-like systems to encourage viewers to donate to them. One example of this is when they encourage people to donate money in exchange for the chance to win a prize. While this practice’s legality is in question in most places, the chance to win something encourages people to donate their cash to a streamer.

In the future, you can expect two significant changes in video game gambling. These include regulation and licensing and changes in the monetizing of video games. Most people ask themselves what the significance is as concerns the convergence of online gambling and video games. Most jurisdictions have no age restrictions on the above ways in which video games have become mainly like gambling.

The concern among experts is that without an age restriction on these video games, they might become the entry point for young people into gambling addiction. This is because the players are often distorted with the high payouts they can get when they play more games.

A growing body of evidence proves that young adults and children now participate in video games that look and work like online gambling. Those who participate in these games have been shown to engage in gambling and experience gambling-related issues later. As such, parents whose kids engage in video games should be wary of how much they allow their kids to consume.

With that said, it isn’t entirely on parents to monitor their children, or adults to monitor themselves. Gambling has managed to change the way that some games are monetized, and that has led to some very harmful practices.

If anything, governments around the world need to be looking at what constitutes as gambling in games, and regulating it, or putting some rules in place that state what is and isn’t acceptable. this looks more likely as time goes on, but with so many new games launching every year, it’s almost impossible to catch every instance of gambling-like behaviour in games.

One caveat to this very damning discussion on gambling in games is that AAA games tend to completely remove themselves from such practices. These games have the highest budgets, and are usually made as story-driven experiences that have no need for monetization or microtransactions. Maybe these are the games that consumers should be demanding more of, because it would do away with any gambling behaviour being present in the most popular games of the moment.

A Short Overview of the Mainline Tekken Games From 1994 to 2020

The Tekken game series spans from 1994 to the present day, and has conquered most consoles in some way. The games have grown in both scope and character roster, and they’ve even gone beyond games if you can believe it. Tekken cosplay now exists. You can buy Tekken novels as well as printed adaptions of the Tekken games and watch films based on the series of games. Casinos have even adapted Tekken and other manga series into slot games such is the scope of the franchise. Despite the franchise being over 25 years old, it continues to grow strong to the present day.

This is a short overview of the mainline games in the series, from the first to the most recent, and even a little look outside of those games.

Tekken – 1994

Tekken was the first game in the series. It wasn’t the first arcade fighter by far, but it was something new for players to sink their teeth into. Completing a series of fights with each character unlocked new ones, and awarded you with a short cutscene that showed a part of their story. The game’s booklet set each character’s motivations up before you even played as them, meaning that seeing this cutscene was the real payoff for pushing through all of those fights.

Tekken 2 – 1995

The follow up to Tekken was nothing short of incredible. It built upon what players had grown to love, but really doubled down on the story side of things. This was the game that really saw the series start to rise up as one of the best arcade fighters on the market, but it wasn’t quite the most popular. It maintained a focus on pure fighting, which was great, and very well-built, but it needed something more to make it stand out.

Tekken 3 – 1997

Tekken 3 is where the series really hit its stride. The game was packed not only with some of the best arcade fighter action available, but also a small spin-off mode called Tekken force that would go on to become a much larger part of the series. This is the game that got most people into Tekken, and is well known because of it.

Tekken Tag Tournament – 1999

The first PlayStation 2 Tekken game may not sound like a mainline entry, but many consider it to be. It vaguely continued the stories of each character, but the primary focus was on the ability to swap characters out in the middle of a match. This is actually a system that’s used by many games today, and is preferred by some to the traditional arcade fighting mechanics.

Tekken 4 – 2001

This was the first proper Tekken game for the PlayStation 2, and it squeezed every inch of power that the console had to offer out of it. The game included a number of modes, from the classic arcade and Tekken Force, to an all new story mode. Here is where most Tekken fans became invested in the stories of each individual character, something that was later pushed even further.

Tekken 5 – 2004

Tekken 5 was the best Tekken game on PlayStation 2. It lost the deep story and lore of each character, but introduced new ones to make up for that. It was probably the most popular of this console generation, going on to be used in professional fighting game tournaments. Characters from the game were even used in Tekken Pachislot, the first Tekken slot machine game, which debuted in Japan in the same year.

Tekken 6 – 2007

Tekken 6 seemed to be where the series lost its way. While it still maintains the stories of each character, and the core game modes, it just didn’t feel like it had improved upon what was already there. If anything, the game was actually a step back compared to the leaps and bounds other arcade fighters were making, such as Soul Calibur. Tekken Pachislot 2nd used cutscenes from the game, so it’s possible that it somehow suffered in order to be released in time for the second Tekken slot machine game to use gameplay from it.

Tekken 7 – 2015

Tekken 7 was a return to form for the Tekken series, and it’s the latest game in the mainline series to date. It has a number of modes, but each of them is complimented by the incredible arcade mode, which is now used in many professional tournaments. The game’s visuals have been used in both Tekken Pachislot 4 and the Tekken Pachinko machine, which is very popular in Japan.

The Tekken series is a phenomenal collection of arcade fighting games, many of which still stand the test of time today. It’s impossible to think of arcade fighters without referencing them, and they don’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. No doubt Tekken 8 is in the works and planned for release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Only time will tell where the series goes from here.\

Monster Hunter World Iceborne Update 14.00 July 8 Unleashed

Hunters, it’s finally here! Capcom has finally released the Monster Hunter World Iceborne update 14.00 July 8 patch, and it brings a ton of gameplay changes, new content, and more importantly, brings the Alatreon game data for the new Elder Dragon!

Required Space:

  • PlayStation®4: About 0.5GB (only this update)
  • Xbox One: About 0.4GB (only this update)

Main Additions / Changes

General:

  • Kulve Taroth has been added to master rank.
  • Arch-tempered Namielle quest has been added.
    -Both are available as event quests for a limited time.
System
  • Increased the number of weapons that can use the layered weapon feature.
  • Increased the number of bases/parts for layered weapons.
  • Appraisal weapons can now be upgraded at the Smithy.
  • Appraisal weapons can now be created at the Elder Melder.
  • New Pendants added.
  • Obtained Item Placement option added to the Options menu.

Miscellaneous

  • Appraisal weapons are now easier to obtain from the Kulve Taroth siege.
  • Incandescent Weapons now produce higher rarity weapons more easily.
  • The following charms have been added: Attack Charm V and Evasion Charm V.

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments

Base / Facility:
  • Fixed an issue where the level effect after unlocking the level cap for some skills would not display in the skill info screen.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain situations, the Safi’jiiva recon assignment would not appear for the character in the 2nd saved data slot.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred in the Guiding Lands rewards screen, where if the item box was at max capacity, items would be discarded instead of being sold.
  • Fixed an issue with some items being sorted in an unnatural order.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would not recognize that the player has met the criteria for the research request “Velkhana’s Icy Breath!”
  • Changed the quest ranking of the event quest “The Assassin” from master rank 3 to 5. This does not affect the quest itself or conditions to join.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred in the Guiding Lands section of the hunter notes, where the material rarity drop for certain levels of monsters were not displaying correct information.
  • Fixed an issue where if the player downloaded uploaded photo data, the icon that indicates when a research request could be submitted would disappear.
  • Fixed an issue where certain steps would result in the “!” icon indicating an important dialogue would not display over an NPC’s head.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred while editing a Squad Card, where performing certain controls while selecting a card design would result in not being able to select anything properly.
  • [PS4] Fixed an issue where the OPTIONS button controls would be enabled while editing a Squad Card.

  • Fixed an issue with the Elder Melder, where under certain conditions, an unobtainable item would appear in the list.
Monsters
  • Fixed an issue where a monster mount would not be canceled when certain monsters were paralyzed or put to sleep while in mid-air.
  • Fixed an issue where a Wyrmstake Blast lodged into Safi’jiiva would disappear if you returned to camp.
  • Fixed an issue where the rocks in Origin Isle could not be destroyed while the host player was in the tent.
  • Fixed an issue where small size Moonlight Gekko wouldn’t appear in the Elder’s Recess.
  • Fixed an issue where master rank Kulu-Ya-Ku and Tzitzi-Ya-Ku would not drop slinger ammo when their health decreased.
  • Fixed an issue where if Kulve Taroth’s attacks were canceled under certain timing, only the damage hitbox would come out.
  • Fixed an issue where rewards for breaking Rajang’s tail would not appear in the results screen.
  • Made adjustments to mitigate the occurrence of the clutch claw hit and grapple position being greatly different on certain monsters.
  • Swapped out the rewards for capturing a tempered Gold Rathian in the Guiding Lands from Elder Spiritvein Bone to Spiritvein Solidbone.
  • Changed the reward item for the quest “Put That Red Cup Away” from Large Wyvern Gem to Fey Wyvern Gem.
  • Fixed an issue where if Raging Brachydios’ tail was wounded, the tip of its tail would not become softened.
  • Fixed an issue where the player would still be afflicted with abnormal status despite successfully countering certain attacks from certain monsters.
  • Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, Raging Brachydios could be captured.
  • Fixed an issue where the Temporal Mantle would not be effective against certain attacks from Namielle.
  • Fixed an issue where master rank Kulve Taroth’s gold mantle would not soften during a mount.
Player
  • Fixed an issue where certain weapons would appear unnatural when sheathed.
  • Fixed an issue with the Orion/Orion α armor and layered armor sets, where the arm part would display unnaturally when equipped.
  • Fixed an issue with the Kjárr Pipe “Water” hunting horn, where melody effects would stop even if performances continued.
  • [PS4] Fixed an issue with the sword & shield, where after rising from being blown back, pressing the Circle button with certain timing would cause you to perform a backstep.
    [XBOX] Fixed an issue with the sword & shield, where after rising from being blown back, pressing B with certain timing would cause you to perform a backstep.
  • Made adjustments so that when using items with the custom radial menu, if the item doesn’t exist and the materials for the high priority crafting recipe aren’t available, the game will try to craft items for the low priority recipe if materials are available.
  • Fixed an issue where the values on the status screen when Non-Elemental Boost was active would not display correctly with certain weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where slinger ammo would fire in a different direction than the reticle when fighting Kulve Taroth.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred when carving from Safi’jiiva, where the default carving animation would be performed even though it’s a rare material.
  • Fixed an issue where the player character would appear unnatural when using specific hairstyles and armor together.
  • Fixed an issue where the item order in the item selection window would change when the Mushroomancer skill was in effect.
  • Fixed an issue that if a player is equipped with a bow and then checks the details of a player using a bowgun from the player list, the status screen would display unnaturally.
  • Fixed an issue where if the player adjusted the Item Display On/Off setting for Fixed Items while in base, the item would be displayed at the end of the list regardless of the player’s settings.
  • Fixed an issue where the player would not land correctly when they hit a wall at a specific position.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred when the option Obtained Item Placement was set to End of the item bar, during a quest, the Raider Ride Call position would not be correctly kept.
  • Fixed an issue where certain parts of the player character would not be displayed at the result screen, if they failed a quest or reset a quest while their heads were in a snowman state.
  • Fixed an issue that occurred during Safi’jiiva’s Sapphire of the Emperor or Behemoth’s Ecliptic Meteor, where the visuals effects of Demon Ammo and Armor Ammo would be displayed even if they didn’t receive the effects themselves.
Miscellaneous
  • Corrected various typos, etc., for some equipment descriptions.
  • Fixed an issue where after watching the “Nature’s Might” cutscene in the gallery, starting the game and completing the quest “Faraway Lorelei” would cause the game to go mute.
  • Adjusted the Scarred Yian Garuga quest so that accidental starts could not occur during the quest, as players could be put into an extremely disadvantageous situation at the start of the quest.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-field Palicoes, where text displayed would not match the current situation.
  • Fixed an issue where sound would not play when using stickers via the custom radial menu.
  • Fixed an issue that caused an application error when hosts were swapped under certain conditions during the Eternal Gold Rush quest.
  • Other miscellaneous bug fixes have also been made.

The Division 2 Title Update 10.1 Release Date, Balancing Changes Revealed

While Ubisoft has given gamers a release window for the next The Division 2 patch (called Title Update 1.01) last week, that changed today. During the latest State of the Game devstream, The Division 2 Tilte Update 10.1 release date has been revealed for July 21.

In addition to that, the balancing changes tied to the patch has been mentioned as well. While this isn’t the complete patch notes list, this is a good indicator of where things are going.

This is an in-between patch between TU10 and TU11 and therefore it is not a patch that introduces new content but is more of a bug-fix and balancing patch.

Adjustments / Balancing

Rifle Ammo Capacity Increase

With Title Update 10.1 the Rifles will get an ammo capacity increase

Loadout Swapping & Skill Cooldown

This is fixed and you will be able to switch your loadout even when the Skills are on cooldown.

Revive Hive

  • Reduce the number of charges at level 0 from 4 to 1
  • Reduce the recharge time from 240s to 180s (3min)
  • This way you only need to wait for 3 min to change the Skill and not 16 min.
  • You can still revive yourself or one teammate but not the whole squad with a level 0 Revive Hive
  • You get 1 additional charge per Skill Tier. (7 players on Tier 6)

Foundry Bulwark Gear Set

  • It is a powerful set and overall they are happy with it
  • The 3 Piece Bonus (+3% Armor Regeneration) is a bit too generous in keeping players alive
  • The Foundry Bulwark focuses on using a shield and that is why the 3-piece-bonus is reduced to +1% Armor Regeneration but the shield health is increased by 50% by the 3-piece-bonus
  • So what you lose in self-preservation without a shield, you gain when you use a shield.
  • Also when you have 3 pieces of Foundry Bulwark equipped, you basically gain a Skill Tier for your shield with the 50% shield health bonus.

Forge named holster

  • Currently increases Shield Health by 10%, with TU10.1, it will increase Shield Health by 50%
  • So basically like another Skill Tier for the Shield.
  • This can also be combined with Motherly Love

Booster Hive Changes

  • On live Booster Hive increases Weapon Damage, Weapon Handling, and Melee Damage by 10 – 16% depending on Skill Tier.
  • With TU10.1 the Booster Hive will keep Weapon Handling and Melee Damage but it will lose the Weapon Damage component – it will gain Hazard Protection.
  • Every time the Booster Hive buffs you, you gain – at Skill Tier 0 – 20% Hazard Protection, 20% Weapon Handling and 20% Melee Damage
  • At Skill Tier 6 you gain 60% Hazard Protection, Weapon Handling, and Melee Damage
  • It does not give you immunity and it does not cleanse but it should give the Booster Hive a place on the battlefield.
  • With mods, you get 90% Hazard Protection.
  • This applies to PVP and PVE

Hive Skill Platform

  • Increased drone flight speed for all Skill Variants
  • Will increase more per Skill Tier
  • So all Hive Variants will be more responsive

Headhunter

  • No planned changes for Headhunter

PVP Changes

Assault Rifle Buff

  • Assault Rifle damage will be increased by 9% in PVP
  • This helps to give them enough power to be used in middle ranges

Firestarter Chem Launcher

  • Explosive Damage is lowered by 50% in PVP
  • It was lowered by that high amount because Firestarter ignores cover, you have many charges on high Skill Tier and it does a lot of damage.
  • Sticky Bomb could be an alternative here

Striker Drone

  • 38% damage increase in PVP
  • This way the Drone can keep up with the Turret in terms of damage

All Deployed Skills

  • Will now take four times more damage from hostile players.
  • So this should make it easier to shoot down these skills

Riot Foam Chem Launcher

  • They see requests to nerf the Riot Foam
  • They are hoping the Booster Hive should help with that topic
  • Hazard Protection will lower the time you are stuck in Riot Foam and you can also break out in 1 Second.
  • They are still discussing if the base ensnare duration should be lowered, but there is a mechanic to break out and you don’t have to endure the full ensnare duration.

Loot Changes

Pre-Title Update 10

  • Before Title Update 10 bad rolls had high chance and high-quality loot had a low chance to drop
  • That meant that there is a high chance that the loot was bad.
  • This is what they wanted to address with Title Update 10

Title Update 10

  • In Title Update 10 they’ve adjusted the drop chances so that there are fewer rolls at the minimum Quality (yellow area), you have better chances to get medium quality (green area) but you have also a lower chance to get maxed out rolls (red area)
  • So while the average loot quality was better (green) when you are really in the min-maxing process (red) you had a lower chance to get the maxed out god-rolls.
  • That was also obvious in level 30 loot.

Title Update 10.1

  • With TU 10.1 they’ve increased the minimum-rolls so the overall loot quality will be better.
  • On top of that, there will be a better chance that you get the maxed out rolls.
  • This will also apply to the Dark Zone
  • Rainbow Items are completely random and they can’t control that at the moment, but they are looking at that for Title Update 11.

Caches

  • The Caches will also get better loot with TU10.1
  • Field Proficiency and Dark Zone Caches will be on par with heroic tier loot
  • Clan Caches will be between heroic and legendary loot quality

Exotic Drops

  • It has been reported that players often get the Exotic item they are NOT looking for – for example they are looking for the Bighorn in Legendary and get a Pestilence.
  • That is why they moved the random Exotic drops from the boss loot into Exotic Caches that can drop as mission rewards
  • This does not change how many exotics you get, as in the chance of them dropping, but when you see an exotic drop from a boss, it should be the one that you are expecting or the one from targeted loot.

 


Season 2

Hollywood Global Event

  • Enemies are equipped with special armor that resists against Small Arms damage
  • Most enemies spawn with a yellow shield around them, this reduces all damage while it is active
  • Explosive damage and damage from Signature Weapons strip this field away and deal heavy damage to the enemy
  • Enemies that are killed while the shield is active will drop grenades or Signature Weapon ammo
