Halo Backwards Compatibility Support Gets a Boost With Four More Supported Titles

What’s better than one, two, or even three Halo titles being made available for Xbox One backwards compatibility? Yep, that’s right, four of ’em!

The official Halo Twitter account confirmed the news that Halo 3Halo 3: ODSTHalo 4 and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary are all now playable on Xbox One. What’s more, they are all compatible with free DLC!

Now would be a good chance to get some of those tricky multiplayer-only achievements which may have eluded you in years past. I know there’s a few Halo 3 multi-kills that I need to pick up!

It might seem silly to get excited about playing old games when new titles like Destiny 2 just came out, but for those of us who grew up with Halo, diving back into such an iconic franchise is a nostalgia trip that shouldn’t be missed.

What will you be playing?

Overwatch Perma Bans Issued Starting Next Week, Play Fair or Don’t Play at All

To help “reduce unwelcome behavior,” Blizzard will be introducing Overwatch perma bans for Competitive Play. This system will kick in on September 27, with any player who accumulates three or more seasonal bans potentially suffering a permanent ban.

These “three strikes” stay with you upon season reset. “If a player earned season bans in Seasons 2 and 4, and then earns another ban in Season 7, he or she will be eligible for a permanent ban from Competitive Play as soon as that third seasonal ban is issued.”

Once an account is permanently banned, it currently cannot return to good standing.

Here’s the full statement from community manager Josh Engen:

Over the last few months, we’ve made several changes to the game as part of our ongoing effort to build a better, more welcoming experience. These changes include increasing the severity of penalties for poor in-game behavior, adding a reporting system on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and piloting a program to notify players via email whenever their reports result in an action.

Next week, we’re taking another step to help reduce unwelcome behavior by implementing permanent bans for Competitive Play. Starting Wednesday, September 27, any player who accumulates three or more seasonal bans may be permanently banned from Competitive Play, removing their ability to participate in any future matches in that mode.

Seasonal bans do not need to be consecutive to qualify for a permanent Competitive Play ban. For example, if a player earned seasonal bans in Seasons 2 and 4, and then earns another ban in Season 7, he or she will be eligible for a permanent ban from Competitive Play as soon as that third seasonal ban is issued. Additionally, neither seasonal bans nor permanent Competitive Play bans will decay or reset over time; once an account is permanently banned, it currently cannot return to good standing.

Make sure you play fair!

LawBreakers Patch Notes 1.4 Released, Update Aims to “Increase Average Lifespans Across the Board”

Boss Key has released the patch notes for today’s Lawbreakers update 1.4. Their main aim with this patch, is to “increase average lifespans across the board.” There’s also a new map, sound and disconnection bug fixes, and more.

Talking specifically about keeping players alive, Boss Key are increasing health for every role, giving all players health regen when out of combat, and implemented a group spawning system.

Here’s what they hope to achieve with the update:

  • Extend the combat dance and create more interesting decisions about when commit to a fight or retreat to safety.
  • Reduce the overall amount of insta-gibs.
  • Provide more incentive to use abilities and combos in order to finish a fight.
  • Health regen on all roles is about letting teams without a Battle Medic have a chance, who previously had too much of an impact on the outcome of a match.
    • We were careful here not to adjust regen values too high, we want to preserve the viability of both Battle Medic and Harrier as excellent support roles.
  • Health regen on all roles actually keep players in combat LONGER, which we’ve seen has been a positive change during internal testing. It increases players amount of action and fun rather than having them retreat to a health station.

Without any further ado, please go ahead and dive into the patch notes below!

NEW ADDITIONS:

  • New Map – Namsan!

  • New Feature – Daily login rewards!

    • Earn 50 Creds the first time you log on to LawBreakers for the day.

  • New Feature – Team spawning logic in all modes!

  • New Feature – More matchmaking options!

    • Players will now have the following options to queue for:

      • Objectives – Play matches in all of the current objective-based modes.

      • *NEW* Skirmish  – Team Deathmatch is now playable as our first limited time mode!

      • Quick Match  – Search for matches in both Skirmish and Objective to find the fastest one.

        • NOTE: Quick Match queues you in both Objective and Skirmish Modes to find the fastest match. Once a match is found, you stay in that queue (either Objective or Skirmish) until you leave.

ROLE CHANGES:

BASE HEALTH (ALL ROLES) –

  • Assassin HP  300 → 400.

  • Battle Medic HP  350 → 475.

  • Enforcer HP  400 → 500.

  • Gunslinger HP  325 → 400.

  • Harrier HP  350 → 450.

  • Juggernaut HP  600 → 700.

  • Titan HP  500 → 600.

  • Vanguard HP  325 → 425.

  • Wraith HP  325 → 425.

HEALTH REGEN (ALL ROLES) –

  • Assassin  0 → 20.

  • Battle Medic  10 → 35.

  • Enforcer  0 → 20.

  • Gunslinger  0 → 20.

  • Harrier  0 → 20.

  • Juggernaut  0 → 20.

  • Titan  0 → 20.

  • Vanguard  0 → 20.

  • Wraith  0 → 20.

ASSASSIN –

“We’re buffing up the range on the Arc Blades and pulling back the damage on the Romerus charge shot in order to shift Assassin’s play style a bit more towards her bread and butter melee.”

  • Arc Blade’s melee range increased from 400 → 425.

  • Romerus alt-fire projectile damage reduced from 27 → 25.

  • Dash travel speed reduced from 2500 → 2200.

BATTLE MEDIC –

“Battle Medic’s win rate shows way too much impact on the outcome of games, despite having lackluster damage output. Instead of gutting their healing abilities, we decided instead to buff up the rest of our roles by adding the new out of combat health regen. To help compensate Battle Medic, we’ve given them some more direct damage on their lobber grenades and did a full tuning pass on their mobility. They no longer suffer from increased gravity and should be more agile when moving around the map. We also want to encourage Medics to get into the fray more with their teammates, so we’ve pulled in the range on the Support Drone’s and given them a bit more health to help survive up close.”

  • Removed increased gravity modifier.

  • Support Drone range decreased from 5100 → 4000.

  • Lobber grenade direct hit damage increased from 135 → 145.

ENFORCER –

“We’re shifting some of Enforcer’s power out of his Bloodhound Rockets and into the rest of his kit. For a while the “memehounds” have been simply doing way too much damage for how easy they are to use, bordering on being a win-button. We’ve reduced the number of salvos fired to make them easier to dodge and lowered the damage per salvo to make them less punishing when hit. In exchange we’re giving a bunch back to the Aerator and Distortion Field in terms of more accuracy, faster reloads and better mobility.”

  • Aerator minimum spread decreased from 0.35 → 0.

  • Aerator maximum spread decreased from 3.75 → 3.25.

  • Badger ammo per clip increased from 6 → 7.

  • Distortion Field’s default active duration increased from 4 → 6 seconds.

  • Distortion Field’s buff bonus to reload & weapon swap speeds has been increased from 25% → 35%.

  • Reduced acceleration speed while Distortion Field is active from 5000 → 2500.

  • *NEW* Enforcer can now use double jump even when distortion field is not active.

  • Fuel regeneration time decreased from 10 → 7 seconds.

  • Bloodhound Rocket’s ammo has been reduced from 4 → 3 salvos.

  • Bloodhound Rocket’s damage per rocket (4 per salvo) has been decreased from 40 → 38

GUNSLINGER –

“Gunslinger’s have been annihilating everything in their path since they were buffed back in patch 1.1. Even though we pulled back on his damage a bit since then, those changes didn’t go far enough and so we’re doubling back and trimming more damage off of the Omega. We’re also fixing a longstanding issue where releasing the Omega charge shot early would cause you to always get the minimum damage.”

  • Omega’s fully charged max damage decreased from 150 → 130.

  • Omega’s base damage with no charge decreased from 85 → 70.

  • *NEW* Omega’s damage now properly ramps up based upon charge duration.

  • Omega’s base damage with no charge headshot multiplier increased from 1.1 → 1.5.

  • Omega’s damage during a Warp combo increased from 45 → 70

JUGGERNAUT –

“We’ve added a Blocker scoring event to reward Juggernaut players for using his Holo-Deflector effectively. We also added a Cross-checked event for getting kills with his specialty charge attack.”

  • *NEW* Juggernaut Scoring Events:

    • Blocker – awarded for absorbing 300 enemy damage with the Holo-Deflector.

    • Cross-checked – awarded for getting a kill with the Juggernaut’s Charge into Alt-fire melee attack.

VANGUARD –

“We want Vanguard’s to be able to escape sticky situations using their mobility, but not necessarily have the fastest top speed in the game.”

  • Afterburner’s top speed reduced from 2500 → 2200.

  • Afterburners acceleration speed increased from 4000 → 5000.

WRAITH –

“Wraith’s free mobility spam has broken every design rule we have in the game, complete with instant cooldown refreshes and infinite stab dashing. To keep him in check we’ve had to undertune the rest of his kit, which has left him feeling subar both to play as and to play against. We’re pulling the trigger on some mobility restrictions for Wraith that allows us to open up the rest of his kit. First, Wraith will no longer immediately regenerate triple jump charges upon hitting the ground. Second, the lunge associated with the Wasp is now on a 3 second cooldown. You’ll still be able to stab while it’s on cooldown, but there will be no forward impulse and the damage will be significantly reduced. On the buffs train we’re loading up improvements for almost every other aspect of the kit, with more damage on the Spektor, Slide Kick and Stinger, and a longer Key ability duration.”

  • *NEW* Triple jump now generates one charge upon landing, and subsequent charges after a 0.5 second delay.

  • *NEW* 3 second cooldown on the Wasp Stab lunge

  • Spektor’s damage per bullet increased from 24 → 25.

  • Spektor’s minimum spread decreased from 1.0 → 0.35.

  • Spektor’s damage falloff range decreased from 1200 → 600.

  • Spektor’s spread amount on bullets after 3 bullets have been shot increased from 2 → 3 per bullet.

  • Spektor’s ammo increased from 25 → 30;

  • Stinger’s single target damage with a direct hit increased from 150 → 175.

  • Stinger’s travel speed increased from 8000 → 9000.

  • Slide Kick damage increased from 25 → 75.

  • Slide Kick travel speed reduced from 1850 → 1700.

MAP & MODE CHANGES:

ALL MODES –

  • *NEW* Team Spawning:

    • We’ve added logic that tries to spawn teammates who died shortly after one another into collections. This means you will more frequent have some support when heading into battle.

    • Threshold to spawn is 3 seconds by default.

  • Added text messaging above the reticle to better inform the player of relevant mode information.

    • For instance, this message will now tell the ball carrier “YOU HAVE THE BALL” in Blitzball.

BLITZBALL MODE –

“Blitzball has been sped up a bit through score limit and overall game time changes. We’ve also added some defensive centric scoring events to help out player who like to defend and counter attack. This also helps all of you unsung heroes playing Juggernaut and Titan as goalies keep up with the speedy scoring roles a bit better.”

  • Game timer reduced to 10 minutes.

  • Score limit reduced to 5 scores to win.

  • Improved the game clock by not counting down while waiting for the Blitzball to reset.

  • *NEW* Blitzball Scoring Events:

    • Goaltender – triggers when you are near the goal and the Blitzball carrier dies.

    • Carrier Denied – triggers when you kill the carrier near the goal.

    • We’ve also added bonus points for the person that scores the Blitzball.

BUG FIXES:

UI –

  • Fixed an issue where the “Out of Bounds” warning could get stuck on the screen.

  • Fixed numerous issues where achievement icons were missing information.

  • Fixed numerous issues where achievement icons were cut off in announcement windows.

  • Fixed player’s health bars sometimes not updating when spectating another player.

  • Fixed the profile icon border sometimes becoming offset during the End of Match screen.

  • Fixed an issue where the game could get stuck when attempting to purchase a Stash Drop while Steam Overlay is disabled.

CUSTOM GAME –

  • Fixed an issue where the start button would not function for a period of time after completing a match.

SOUND / DISCORD –

  • Fixed an issue where players were forced to disconnect and reconnect to the Discord Client to be heard.

  • Fixed an issue where the game could potentially hang during gameplay due to excessive audio calls.

  • Fixed Blitzball overtime audio announcer message playing when jumping off the map while in overtime.

  • Fixed audio cue issues in Overcharge and Uplink where they may not play properly during your first match.

GAMEPLAY –

  • Battle Medic

    • Fixed an issue with Blindfiring Firefly immediately after reloading would result in 2 energy charges being used instead of 1.

  • Gunslinger

    • Fixed an issue where the TAC Knife’s melee attack could headshot certain characters for bonus damage

  • Harrier

    • Fixed an issue where the laser VFX would remain stuck.

  • Vanguard

    • Fixed an issue where Starfall would be interrupted in mid air due to camera collisions.

    • Fixed an issue where the game server would not immediately remove a player after they disconnected.

    • Fixed an issue where multiple players could be awarded MVP.

SETTINGS –

  • Fixed issues with the HUD not scaling properly.

GENERAL ADDITIONS/IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Sandbox Tutorial has seen several improvements to Tips, Objective Pathing, and Bot performance.

  • *NEW* Gameplay tips now display in game.

  • The “Find Match UI” will now always show during the end of game experience to let players know that they are still searching, or if they have been booted from the game lobby.

  • Leaving a match during warmup or between matches phases do not count against player’s consecutive match bonus timer.

  • Outdated versions of the game are no longer able to enter matchmaking

  • *NEW* Combined the end of match personal results and scoreboard screens into a new unified results screen.

  • Improved stability of the client and server.

Rumor – Call of Duty: WWII Pre-Order for Pro Edition Gets You Carentan Remastered Map

While we already reported on the bonus you’ll get for pre-ordering Call of Duty: WWII, it seems there’s more goodies on the way for those willing to fork out cash early. For those who’ll be getting the “Pro Edition” which includes the Season Pass, a fan favorite multiplayer map from Call of Duty 2 called Carentan is said to be included as well.

This was posted by Reddit user DanteYJ, which you can see in the image above. There are a few things worth noting, though. First off, while there is a Pro Edition of COD: WWII, the current listing of its contents doesn’t mention the map at all, which is weird since that sort of thing is something that marketing usually highlights to reel people in. The GameStop listing of the Pro Edition doesn’t mention it as well. With Activision and Sony being cozy with marketing deals, surely the’d be using the PS4 version to market this.

If it is indeed true, then this is a good map to remake; though gating access behind a more expensive edition of a game is never ideal.

For now, treat this rumor with a big bag of salt. We’ve reached out to Activision to ask whether this is legit or not and will update the post if and when they respond.

In other COD: WWII news, Activision has released a bunch of new trailers for the shooter that spotlights the single-player campaign.

Call of Duty: WWII Story Trailers Introduce Your Allies

Continuing Sledgehammer Games’ “Week of Intel” for Call of Duty: WWII, wherein we got introduced to protagonist Red Daniels yesterday,  we now get two more trailers today, and they introduce our allies.

After years of fighting in the British Expeditionary Force, Major Arthur Crowley serves as a part of the Special Operations Executive, where he executes covert missions behind enemy lines.

A highly skilled French Resistance fighter, Rousseau will do whatever it takes to fight off the Axis powers in France and avenge the ones she’s lost.

Not interested in Call of Duty: WWII story trailers? Don’t forget, there’s a PC beta happening at the end of this month. We’ve played the beta and offered our impressions, but we’ve also listed down the five things we want fixed from it come launch.

Call of Duty: WWII is set for release this November 3 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Fortnite Battle Royale to Be Free Starting Next Week

In case you didn’t know, Epic Games’ Fortnite is adding a “battle royale” PvP mode that’s not unlike PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. While Fortnite is still in paid Early Access, the publisher has now announced that Fortnite Battle Royale (that’s what they’re calling it) will be free for everyone starting this September 26!

Those not familiar with how battle royale games work, it’s a 100-player strong PvP world which will allow you to find weapons, supplies and as part of Fortnite’s base game mechanics, build structures.

Over on Reddit, the full details has been revealed. If you’re a PC player and bought Battle Royale last week, you can ask for a refund as per Epic Games’ instructions.

Is Battle Royale really free?
Yes, starting on September 26. We launched a public test and it worked better than we expected. We want the game to reach as many players as possible, so we decided to release Battle Royale for free sooner than we anticipated.

Squads. Where are the squads?
Squads are coming 9/26. We’ll share more details in the Fortnite Release Notes.

Where are the vehicles?
We are prototyping some ideas but don’t know how they will fit into the game. We’ll let you know more soon.

Will you add more maps?
Yes, but not right away.

What else are you working to immediately improve or add?
We’re working to improve the feel of combat, controls, weapons and movement. We’re also working to streamline inventory management.

I bought the game for the PvP Battle Royale mode on PC last week. Since it’s free now, can I have a refund?
Yes. If you purchased Fortnite between Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 to get access to Battle Royale, and you would like a refund, contact us and we’ll give you one. Fortnite Battle Royale will still be available to you for free.

Why did Epic make only Battle Royale free? When will the whole game be free?
We still have a lot of features to add before the PvE campaign is complete. We will launch the Save the World PvE campaign for free in 2018.

Now that Battle Royale is free, does that mean that PvP development is complete? No. Fortnite is still in development and we will continue to improve and expand both the PvE Save the World Campaign and PvP game modes.

Does Battle Royale mean that Fortnite is abandoning PvE?
No. The team has big plans and is continuing to add features and develop new modes to play, including the previously announced “Block Party” mode. Stay tuned for some spooky details on our October updates soon.

Will my progress in Fortnite PvE campaign transfer over into Battle Royale?
For now, PvE and PvP are not connected and we don’t know if Battle Royale will eventually connect to the Fortnite Campaign. We are considering cosmetic connections between PvE and PvP and compendium-like content, but we’re still figuring it out. Let us know what you think would be cool.

Will Fortnite Battle Royale be pay-to-win?
No. We will not sell items that give a competitive advantage. At some point in the future we will sell other things including cosmetics or compendium-like content.

What if I want to purchase the Save the World Campaign?
You can purchase a Founder’s Pack on PC here or through the PlayStation and Xbox stores.

You can check out more details (a lot more) on Epic Games’ forums

This is definitely an awesome move by Epic Games. Stay tuned for our impressions once we get our hands on this free mode.

NBA 2K18 Microtransactions Take Things Too Far, Players Deem Them “Worst Case of Microtransactions Maybe Ever”

Microtransactions are always a cause for controversy, especially when they’re found within a full-priced title. However, with more and more AAA titles implementing premium currencies, they’ve become more expected. With that said, despite NBA 2K18 players expecting purchasable “VC” to make a return, this year’s installment seems to overstep the line when it comes to what’s deemed acceptable.

The amount of VC required to progress through the game’s myCareer mode has been condemned by players, deeming it as potentially the “worst case of microtransactions maybe ever.”

Reddit user “CowardAgent” has calculated that in order to achieve a player rating of above 86, without spending any additional money, you’d have to play over two hundred games.

Here’s some more of the user’s complaints:

  • You will need about 240 NBA games to get to 86 overall and that’s if you get A+ every game, C grade is about 360 games and B about 300
  • You cant preview haircuts
  • Haircuts cost money even tho they were free in previous games
  • Filters resets in My Team Auction House every time to make sniping almost impossible and to make people buy VC
  • No bonus for playing on high difficulties in My Career.
  • Pro (lowest difficulty) is completely broken and some people (including me) cant make a layup or a shot to save our life, is 2k trying to make us buy VC to upgrade our player?
  • You cant preview your ratings before you upgrade your player

User “CharlesManson420” countered those saying that “VC is nothing new” by explaining that “it’s the extent that they are charging us for it this year that is new”:

Everyone saying this is nothing new, the VC isn’t new. It’s the extent that they are charging us for it this year that is new.

To give you a quick example, when you scan your face to put on to your character, he turns out bald. Fine, so go get a haircut right?

Wrong. You can’t preview what a haircut looks like before buying it, and once you buy it your guy leaves the barber shop in a grueling cutscene basically teasing you.

Your haircuts don’t stay in your inventory like last year, so once you buy that 1500 VC haircut and see that it looks like shit, you’re out of 1500 VC and you can’t even use it again once you purchase a different haircut.

They’re gouging us for f***ing haircuts.

“airzoom23” exclaimed:

Holy s*** balls. I just browsed the 2k sub. Worst case of micro transactions maybe ever?

Here’s hoping Visual Concepts can, at the very least, increase the rate at which non-paying players earn the premium currency.

Have you picked up NBA 2K18? What do you make of the game’s microtransactions?

Latest Overwatch Patch Notes Detail New Junkertown Escort Map, Big Changes to Mercy & D.VA

A new Overwatch patch is now live for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox one. Major hero changes hit Mercy and Diva, and the new map “Junkertown” has been opened up to all.

Read on for the full list of patch notes, as well as the occasional comment and reasoning from the developers.

PATCH HIGHLIGHTS

New Escort Map: Junkertown

Junkertown is located in the harsh and unforgiving Australian Outback. Constructed from the remains of a destroyed omnium, it’s now the home to a band of lawless scavengers known as the Junkers, led by their cutthroat Queen. When they aren’t pillaging the omnium’s skeleton for anything of value, the Junkers blow off steam in the Scrapyard—a massive gladiatorial arena whose combatants fight for glory, riches… and to survive.

GENERAL UPDATES

General

  • [XB1] Players whose Xbox Live reputation has been downgraded to “Avoid Me”
will remain in the same matchmaking pool as other Overwatch players. Howevers, they will no longer be able to use the in-game voice communication

Mystery Heroes

  • Players will no longer see the Assemble Your Team screen at the beginning of a game
  • Players who purposefully kill themselves will no longer respawn as a new hero. However, their Ultimate ability will reset and anything that’s been placed (i.e. Torbjörn’s turret) will despawn
  • Players will no longer be respawned as the same hero
  • These changes also apply to any custom games where the “Respawn as Random Hero” option has been enabled.

User Interface Updates

  • The skull icons that indicate where teammates were killed throughout the map have been replaced with hero portrait icons
  • Third person camera view will now frame the action automatically when spectating or waiting to respawn

HERO UPDATES

D.Va

  • Micro Missiles (New Ability)
    • D.Va fires a barrage of small rockets that detonate on impact, dealing damage in a limited radius around each explosion. These can be fired while D.Va is using any other ability or firing her Fusion Cannons
  • Defense Matrix
    • Defense Matrix’s resource meter will now deplete twice as quickly
    • Energy regeneration per second has been increased to 12.5% (formerly 10%)
  • Boosters
    • Fusion Cannons can now be fired while flying

Developer Comments: D.Va’s Defense Matrix uptime has proven to be too strong, but simply reducing it without making other changes would make her too weak (and far less interesting to play). Instead, we’re adding a new ability and giving her the ability to fire while flying. These changes give D.Va new options while maintaining Defense Matrix’s ability to shut down big enemy attacks.

Mercy

  • Resurrect (Formerly Mercy’s Ultimate ability)
    • Ability now targets a single player, instead of every player within a radius
    • Radius reduced to 5 meters
    • Ability cooldown is 30 seconds
    • Mercy is no longer granted invulnerability while Resurrect is active

  • Valkyrie (New Ultimate Ability)
    • Valkyrie unleashes the full power of Mercy’s Valkyrie suit, enhancing her weapons and abilities for 20 seconds
      • Caduceus Staff: Mercy’s healing and damage boosts beams now affect all allies near the targeted teammate, and the staff’s effective range has been extended
      • Caduceus Blaster: Now has infinite ammo and increased projectile speed
      • Guardian Angel: Increased range and movement speed
      • Resurrect: Cooldown is instantly reset when Valkyrie is activated and reduced to 10s after the initial cast
      • Hover: Mercy gains the ability to fly freely, at increased movement speed
      • Regeneration (Passive): No longer interrupted when Mercy takes damage

Developer Comments: While resurrecting downed allies is a core part of Mercy’s gameplay, the way her Ultimate functioned was causing a number of problems. It was frustrating to play against, and it incentivized Mercy players to hide away from important battles, instead of taking part in them. This version turns Resurrect into a single target ability. It’s still an important part of Mercy’s kit, but plays much better for both Mercy players and her enemies. Valkyrie, her new Ultimate, gives her the opportunity for big game-making plays and opens a number of new options for her.

Reinhardt

  • Barrier Field
    • Holding primary fire while your shield is active now allows you to rotate the camera

Developer Comments: This change gives Reinhardt more situational awareness while using his shield, allowing him to keep an eye on the battlefield while still protecting his team.

  • A new “Movement Relative to Camera During Barrier Free Look” option can be found under Settings > Controls. Simply select “Reinhardt” from the dropdown menu. This allows players to change the way Reinhardt moves when Barrier Shield is active and players are controlling the third-person camera movement

BUG FIXES

General

  • Fixed a bug that caused Custom Reticles to appear transparent and ignore opacity settings when their thickness was set to 1
  • Fixed a bug that caused Control matches to be played in a best-of-five format when creating a custom game using the Competitive preset
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from requesting a highlight while viewing a killcam after being killed
  • Fixed a bug that prevented voice lines from playing after players received five votes on a commendation card at the end of a match
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from automatically joining Match Chat, even when the option was enabled
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from receiving the Perfect Round indicator after an Elimination game if they received a temporary health boost from an ability (e.g. Lúcio’s Sound Barrier)
  • Fixed a bug that caused the “Aim Ease In” setting to affect controller input too aggressively when the thumbstick was deflected diagonally

Deathmatch

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the entire Team Deathmatch description from being displayed in the info section
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally caused the incorrect announcer VO to play in highlights captured during Deathmatch games
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Junkrat to destroy his own Steel Traps with Concussion Mines

Heroes

  • Fixed a bug that occasionally caused the heroes’ “sigh” voice line to play when respawning
  • Fixed a bug that interrupted the animation on Ana’s eye during the Beach Ball emote with her Captain Amari skin equipped
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Doomfist from being knocked back when his Rocket Punch ability was being used
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Doomfist’s Rocket Punch to hit players through the taxi on King’s Row
  • Fixed a bug that caused a pair of pink fuzzy dice to mysteriously float onto the screen when viewing D.Va’s weapon in the Hero Gallery if her Cruiser skin was equipped
  • Fixed an issue that caused the golden tint of Junkrat’s weapon to appear dull when his Firework skin was equipped
  • Fixed a bug that gave Junkrat’s RIP-Tire a speed boost when players wall jumped on ledges
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally caused Mei’s Ice Wall to launch players into the air
  • Fixed a bug that caused Mei’s Ultimate to appear friendly (it failed to change from blue to red) after being reflected by Genji
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Roadhog’s Chain Hook icon from being displayed in the kill feed when it caused an environmental kill
  • Fixed a bug that caused Symmetra’s Photon Barrier to indicate a 10-second cooldown when the red “cannot use” icon was active
  • Using D.Va’s melee attack no longer cancels Micro Missile barrage
  • D.Va’s Micro Missiles are now interrupted by stuns, knockbacks, and other crowd-control effects
  • Mercy’s Resurrect is no longer blocked by Steel Trap or Graviton Surge
  • Mercy is no longer able to use Valkyrie to escape Graviton Surge and Steel Traps

Maps

  • Fixed a bug on Ecopoint: Antarctica that could cause a crate to block your view of heroes during the winning team lineup
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Reaper to reach unintended locations on Castillo
  • Fixed a bug that allowed some heroes to reach unintended locations on Horizon Lunar Colony
  • Fixed a bug that prevented reflections from appearing on weapons while standing in certain areas on Ilios
  • Fixed a bug that caused jump pads to bounce players higher than intended on Oasis
  • Fixed a lighting issue that caused some items on the last point of Route 66 to take on a pinkish hue when players used low video settings
  • Fixed an issue that caused reflections to appear overly dark while players were standing in areas of the Cave Inn on Route 66
  • Fixed an issue that caused excessive camera zoom and flashing lights when players loaded into the tutorial map
  • Fixed a bug that prevented plated railings from being properly destroyed by weapons fire on Volskaya Industries
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to reach unintended locations on Watchpoint: Gibraltar

User Interface

  • Removed the “Healing Prevented” statistic from Ana’s career profile page
  • Fixed a bug that caused Doomfist’s Rocket Punch UI to occasionally remain visible when respawning
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Doomfist’s Seismic Slam from accurately targeting moving objects, causing Doomfist to land in unintended locations

Are you a D.VA or Mercy main? If so, how do you feel about the changes?

Top 10 Worst Battlefield Teammates to Have on Your Team

[tps_header]The 10 Worst Battlefield Teammates to Have on Your Team[/tps_header]

I’m the first one to admit, I’m a big Battlefield fan. There’s just something with how working together to win, using the right class to help your teammates out that just feels so satisfying. While DICE has refined its class-based system over the years, there’s one thing that the studio can never fix, and that’s idiot teammates.

If you’ve played a Battlefield game, then chances are, you’ve experienced some sort of stupidity or asshole-ness from a teammate of yours. It can be as simple as not giving you ammo to take down a tank, or be an annoying commander who keeps on ordering people what to do, how to do it and when.

In our top 10 list, we take a look at the top 10 bad Battlefield teammates. If you’re one of the people who fits one of the descriptions in this article, then there’s a very good chance your teammates, and squadmates are not enjoying the game as much as you think they are.

PUBG Update Acts to Prevent Crouch-Jumping, Fix Bugs & More

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has deployed a new update to the Test Servers. This marks the 26th weekly patch. If everything is stable, the update will then hit Live Servers for all players to experience.

One of the most significant changes included in this update is the disabling of multiple actions being bound to one key. This means that crouch-jumping will be a lot more difficult to pull off. Players who have been using this technique to easily evacuate buildings and surprise an enemy with a cheeky flank, will face a bigger challenge.

UI/UX

Added the following feature to the Map Help section on the World Map: Marking your character’s current position (Default key set to Insert)

Other

You may no longer modify ini files to set a key bind for multiple actions on the same key

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that enabled angled foregrip to attach to Tommy Gun
Fixed a graphic bug regarding building locations
Fixed an animation bug that appeared when a character used healing or boosting items in the driver’s seat
Fixed a bug that did not cancel a player’s reload if the character was knocked out during the reload
Fixed a bug where an uncooked grenade could explode if a character was knocked out while holding it
Fixed a graphic bug that would cause a black box texture to appear while scoped when Anti-Aliasing was set to Low or Very Low in the Settings

Are you happy with the changes? Is crouch-jumping a valid tactic? Or is it good that Bluehole is making moves against it?
