Assassin’s Creed Mirage Release Date Moved Up by a Week, Game Has Hit Gold

The moment that all Assassin’s Creed fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Ubisoft just announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has gone gold, which means that development on the game is finished, and the master is ready to be distributed to stores. The studio is even quite happy to share with players that the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date was moved up by a week, from the original October 12 plan to the new October 5 date.

The great news was shared via the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter, with the nice symbol that you can see right below.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage puts players in the shoes of Basim, a major character that fans of the series have met during Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Mirage takes place several decades before the events of that game, in 9th Century Baghdad, and a playthrough may run for 20-30 hours depending on your playstyle.

Releasing for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, Assassin’s Creed Mirage may be the chapter prior to Assassin’s Creed Red, which is apparently slated to a 2024 launch.

Cities: Skylines 2 Economy and Production Featured in New Gameplay Deep Dive

Paradox Interactive has revealed this week’s Cities: Skylines 2 gameplay deep dive! Developer Colossal Order details the upcoming city builder’s different Economy and Production options. You can watch the full Cities: Skylines 2 Economy and Production gameplay deep dive right here:

While the economic simulation of Cities: Skylines is similar in concept compared to the economic simulation in Cities: Skylines II, it was simpler in Cities: Skylines. The production chain was relatively narrow, but the economic simulation served its purpose well within the game’s other systems.

As Cities: Skylines II has been built from the ground up and all of its core systems redesigned, there was also the need to redesign the economic simulation. It governs the households and their money and resource usage, businesses finding suitable locations in the city based on their evaluation of potential profit, available resources, connections, and workforce as well as city service functionality and trade.

If you’re hoping to get more information, watch the video above, and don’t forget to check out the full Cities: Skylines 2 Economy and Production blog post right here. Cities: Skylines 2 gameplay deep dives are expected to continue until September 11, with new updates weekly. The full roadmap is posted in this article.

Cities: Skylines 2 releases on October 24, 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. It will launch on Xbox Game Pass on the same day.

Tekken 8 South Korea Rating Surfaces

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 just received its rating in South Korea from the Game Rating and Administration Committee. This rating was exclusively mentioning the PC version, but it’s known that the next chapter in the popular fighting franchise is also coming to consoles. With Tekken 8 rated, this means that we are one step closer to a release date announcement.

The news was discovered by Yellow_Motion, a Tekken enthusiast, and shared on Twitter with some additional context regarding a possible launch timeframe. The classification request was submitted on August 7 and approved on August 11, now it’s time to wait on the official release date announcement.

Tekken 8 Rated in South Korea, Early 2024 Launch Likely

In the same tweet reporting the classification, Yellow_Motion looked back into the story of Tekken and came up with some interesting facts, but take them with a pinch of salt. Tekken 7 launched just four months after being rated, so in the case of the upcoming fighting game, it would mean that Tekken 8 could release by December 2023. That would be a very surprising move though, as Bandai Namco has also previously admitted to its goal of releasing the game “after 2023,” as you can see in the same tweet.

In the end, the most likely scenario is a Tekken 8 launch before or around the end of this fiscal year, in March 2024, so don’t be too hopeful for anything before that.

A Tekken 8 partial roster leak confirms some of the fighters that you can expect to find in the game, and some images were already circulating, prompting Bandai Namco to issue a few takedown notices including copyright strikes to avoid them spreading.

Tekken 8 is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and this is probably the strongest reason why it is skipping last-generation consoles. It is under development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Review – Bloody Fun Times

A true horror classic spawning countless sequels and remakes, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has the right kind of setting to be recreated in a terrifying videogame. Until now, its members have remained quietly sheltered from prying eyes in their terrifying family house, but Gun Interactive decided to follow up on the bloody shoes of its Friday the 13th adaptation and is now releasing another asymmetrical horror game for horror buffs. Just as we hoped for, it’s bloody, brutal at times, and above everything else, a nail-biting experience that will get you on the edge of your seat.

Blood Spilling Runs in the Family

A strong contender to the title of the most asymmetrical multiplayer game of all time, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is designed and optimized around 4v3 player matches, and anything below that wouldn’t have the desired effect in terms of tension and consistency. You’re not only playing in deliberately unbalanced teams; each element of the Victims and Family comes with very specific mechanics that provide extremely different approaches to each match, and you’re going to find your favorites after many botched attempts at not becoming Leatherface’s new skin.

Gun Interactive scored the rights to the 1974 movie that shocked generations, so we won’t see any characters or locations from subsequent films, although that isn’t entirely ruled out for the future. Instead of delivering a by-the-numbers recreation of the movie’s cast and lore, they decided to take it up a notch by setting the game a few months before the events everyone knows all too well and by adding five new victims and a couple of unique villains, Sissy and Johnny.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Review

The core gameplay can be described in just a few words, but the impressive detail is that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is way more than a cat-and-mouse game or a bloody vicious hide-and-seek activity. As a Victim, you will have to escape from the basement and navigate several areas by unlocking doors and moving on to the next challenge. Your goal is to flee the property and finally escape the nightmare, something easier said than done when all players start learning the in-and-outs of the three maps available at launch: Family House, Slaughterhouse, and Gas Station.

Sounds and shadows play vital roles in the outcome of the challenge, with urgency and nerves of steel going hand in hand if you want to escape the Family’s grasp successfully. Move slowly, crouching, hide in shadows and vegetation, and avoid any actions that may result in noise, both visual and audio cues alerting the chasers to your whereabouts. Opening a toolbox to find a valuable unlock tool is one of several stressful situations, as is picking a bone scrap to cut down those rudimentary bone chimes, but these actions trigger a minigame where rushing through will cause noise, temporarily giving away your position to the thirsty cannibals. The same goes for lockpicking, a different kind of minigame but also a stressful one, where a few seconds seem to last for an eternity, the thought of not being able to watch your surroundings an unsettling one. Rush through chickens, and the little feathery fiends will start clucking, drawing attention to your movements, but deal a swift blow, and they’re no more – an act that can be excused when survival is at stake.

Hide and Seek and Die

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is all about the spine-chilling atmosphere. When playing as a Victim, it’s remarkable how the feeling of oppression becomes so noticeable, how the air becomes so thick that you’re almost tempted to hold your breath when you hide inside a trunk or a freezer, hoping that you have gone unnoticed by the skin of your teeth, an oddly fitting description. Or when you have no option but to hide in plain sight, crouching amidst the waist-high foliage, heart racing when Leatherface passes in front of you, almost bumping his knee on your face. These moments are of genuine terror, quite a feat for a player-versus-player game where players go through all the motions in a roughly 15-minute match: thrills, humor, and scares are all part of the deal.

As a Family member, it’s not so much about anxiety and careful steps but more about searching the area, securing the premises (keeping the generator on, for example), and destroying potential escape routes. Since both sides have different navigation possibilities, from sneaking into tight spaces to climbing a crate with barbed wire right above it, Leatherface, in particular, is hindered by these locations and can use the chainsaw to destroy them. Exploring every nook and cranny of the map is paramount to discovering where the Victims are hiding, the same as listening to sound cues.

But there’s another twist to playing as the Family, thanks to the terrifying Grandpa. Every member must be on the lookout for blood in buckets or even from Victims, regularly feeding Grandpa to improve his ability to highlight Victims on the map if they don’t stand perfectly still. The stronger he gets, the smaller the cooldown is, making it easier to use this ability to your advantage.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Review

It’s straightforward to see how differently both sides have it, with unique gameplay mechanics asking for completely distinct approaches. Learning the plus points of each character, Family and Victims, is key to making the most of their abilities, extraordinary game changers. Take Leatherface, for example, a hulking brute with great endurance and the ability to crash through some blockades in a relentless chase. The Cook, on the other hand, is a tired old man but with an amazing earing ability, capable of pinpointing the location of any victims who are just a little bit noisier than they should be. Johnny can look for footprints and track his prey easier with this cunning ability.

Victims have their tricks up their sleeves too, with Connie being extremely valuable to unlock doors almost instantly, but with the caveat of impacting Family proximity warnings. Leland is the strong type, capable of stunning most family members for brief seconds, giving everyone room to escape. Then you have perks that you unlock via the skill tree. Each character can pick from three perks and customize them in various loadouts for more intuitive use, and perks level up too.

Finally, attribute points can be unlocked and assigned to characters of both parties, increasing Victims’ toughness, endurance, strength, proficiency, and stealth, while Family comes with Savagery, Blood Harvesting, and Endurance.

Even new Family execution moves can be unlocked and switched, each one more brutal and agonizing than the previous one – although this isn’t the bloodiest horror game in the books, it surely delivers with some quite shocking and often graphic depictions of the takedowns, such as Sissy’s insistent neck slicing.

Maze Runner

The three maps available in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre at launch are truly scary and atmospheric. This is a game where fiddling with the default brightness setting is almost like cheating, the pitch-dark basements being a terrific opposite to the bright sun outside, assuming you’re playing the daytime map. OLED TV/monitor owners will be in for a real treat with how well the HDR and true blacks translate to the screen for this game.

You are bound to find similarities across the three maps, as the design doesn’t seem to differ much between them during the first hours. Slowly, you’ll start making a mental layout of all the main areas, discovering the difference between a car graveyard and a parking lot, and getting to a point where you feel confident that you can start rushing through sections.

In a sense, that’s a shame, as part of the brilliance of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is how the Victims are exploring a new and horrific place, completely disoriented, trying to discover where the exits and crucial routes are by trial and error. That’s where a huge part of the fright and anxiety of the Victims comes from; a dangerous, life-or-death struggle in a location that is unbeknownst to any of them. This would be the perfect game for some procedurally generated sections, adding this hint of unpredictability that plays an important but not exclusive role in exploration, spicing up every game as you would have no opportunity to memorize patterns and rush through it.

Even if the basements specifically and some outside areas feel extremely labyrinthine and confusing, experience and progress will eventually tone this down while killing the element of surprise and uncertainty, the excitement of discovering something new and challenging every single time.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Review

Voice chat is another feature that may end up being divisive. There’s team chat only, meaning you can only speak to party members, but even that sounds like an immersion-breaking option. Sure, you can turn it off, but other players will take advantage of it to align strategies and win matches in ways that don’t feel natural – telling someone in the other corner of the map that they can get an unlock tool in “X” area isn’t in the spirit of the game, which should play more in a more isolated and claustrophobic way – unless, that is, it was to feature proximity voice chat only, something that would make sense, potentially even alerting Family to conversation noise.

Some characters also seem to be nerfed for gameplay reasons alone. It’s odd that some of the slim Family members cannot move through small gaps, even if they fit perfectly. This is one of those situations where a perk is attached to a character when it would make sense to be something natural to everyone except for the bulky Leatherface.

In sheer technical terms, this is a great-looking game, with some stunning rural sights and suitably disgusting areas. The characters are of very good quality, Leatherface being the obvious highlight, but all of them are nice representations of the era where the events unfold, including the deranged Sissy, one of my highlights. On the downside, some of their movements aren’t as smooth as can be and occasionally tend to the clunky side, especially while running, and this can’t be attributed to them being harmed, as it happens in normal situations too.

A Game of Cat and Murderer

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Review

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre cements Gun Interactive’s expertise in delivering great asymmetrical multiplayer horror games. Balancing the two sides and the extremely unique abilities of each character sounds like the true nightmare of it all, but so far, everything seems to be working in a solid and engaging way.

It’s not a flawless game, but the anguish and thrills that it conveys are almost one of a kind, delivered with confidence and brutality to match the source. This is one for horror aficionados and everyone else who likes a good old-fashioned game of murderer cat, and stealthy mouse.

Score: 8.5/10

Pros:

  • The ominous, grim atmosphere.
  • Very distinct mechanics for both sides and characters.
  • Great use of lighting and audio cues enhances gameplay.
  • Competent progression system.
  • Brutal executions.

Cons:

  • Some clunky character animations.
  • Proximity voice chat would be a better choice.
  • Procedurally generated sections could improve replayability, otherwise, expect the feeling of fear to wear quickly.

XDefiant Anti-Cheat Not to Be Discussed to Avoid Leaking Info, Optional Verified Queue Being Looked Into

Given XDefiant is a free-to-play game, the chances of hackers and cheaters ruining the game is quite high. Thankfully, the dev team is aware of this, and while they haven’t talked about XDefiant’s anti-cheat measures, it doesn’t mean it’s not being worked on.

Over on Twitter, Executive Producer Mark Rubin confirmed anti-cheat for XDefiant is something they are purposely not being transparent about it, as to avoid leaking any info.

It’s a constant battle against people who hate video games. If people didn’t cheat we’d have more devs available to work on making the game even better. But cheaters don’t want good games. But to answer your question we try not to talk about our anti-cheat to avoid leaking info.

So unfortunately it’s one topic that I try not to be too transparent about.

In another Twitter convo, Rubin also confirmed that they are looking into optional verified queue’s, though there are no promises if and when this makes it into the game at all.

This is actually something we are looking into. No promises on when or if. But it’s an option on our table.

While XDefiant still has no firm release date, Ubisoft has commented that it’s still “on track” for a summer release. Once we know more about that and the anti-cheat situation for the game, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Modern Warfare 3 to Be Priced at $70, Won’t Have an Upgrade Price Nor Is It an Expansion, Says Activision

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 confirmed to be carrying over a lot of items from Modern Warfare 2, some might be wondering if there’s a way to upgrade the from MW2 to MW3. Sadly, it’s been confirmed today that’s not the case.

In a statement sent to CharlieIntel, Activision confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 will be priced at a full $70, and won’t offer an upgrade if you already own MW2. Activision states that MW3 is a “premium release” and not an expansion.

“As stated in numerous Activision Blizzard quarterly conference calls, Modern Warfare III is a premium release. It will be price accordingly at $70 USD,” an Activision spokesperson tells CharlieIntel.

That’s about it. Don’t expect Modern Warfare 3 to offer any price reduction if you own MW2. It’s a full-priced game, which is to be expected.

The official MW3 reveal is set to take place this August 17, with Warzone players able to experience it in-game as anew limited-time event.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 New Content – New Operator, Balancing Changes, Commendation System, and More

In just a few short weeks, Ubisoft will push out the Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 (Y8S3) update called “Heavy Mettle,” which brings in a new Operator, balancing changes and more! Thanks to Ubisoft, MP1st managed to get some early time with the upcoming update, and we’ve outlined the new content below.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 New Content:

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 New Operator – Ram

“Ram is part of an all-female unit of the South Korean Special Forces, and it’s complicated to integrate into that unit. As we researched and learned more about this unit, we all agreed that this character should look absolutely badass. Ram’s Gadget is more mechanical than high-tech. So it was a natural choice for us to make the design more gritty and grounded. Her night vision, camouflage, combat shirts, and pants are all general aesthetics that we’ve borrowed from the South Korean military.

And then, we went through a redesigning process to make this character memorable and unique. Ram is part of the Redhammer Squad, so the capacity of the destruction of this device needed to be unlimited.”

An excellent verticle operator with big destructive gadgets makes Ram one force not to be reckoned with.

Ram’s Primary Gadget – Bu-Gi Auto Breacher

Described to be the game’s biggest throwable gadget, the Bu-Gi Auto Breacher is self-propelled mobile machinery equipped with heavy-duty saws in both the front and the bottom. It’s capable of shredding floors and smashing through walls, as well asik being thrown from any position, such as around a corner and while repelling. It can smash through barricades while being thrown, though Castl’s armor panel can withstand the impact.

Once thrown, Ram has the ability to activate it remotely from anywhere on the map. The trajectory of the Bu-Gi Auto Breacher can be changed before activation, allowing it to go either in a straight path or a curve left or right, allowing it to go around corners without having to expose yourself.

Though the Bu-Gi Auto Breacher is mostly bulletproof, C4 and impact grenades will destroy it immediately. On its rear, there is a large red canister that can also be shot at to destroy the Bu-Gi Auto Breacher.

Further counter-measures include jamming from a mute jammer. The Bu-Gi Auto Breacher is a mechanical device, but during deployment, it is considered an electronic gadget, allowing it to be jammed. Solis can also detect the gadget.

Secondary Gadgets

  • Flash Grenade
  • Hard Breach Charge

Ram’s Primary and Secondary Weapons

Primary Weapons

  • R4C – Great for aggressive pushes and quick engagement. Ram is being given additional high-powered scope to help with range engagements.
  • LMG-E – The weapon is designed for players who prefer the suppressive fire approach.

Secondary Weapons

  • ITA 12S shotgun – For players who want to double down on the destruction aspect of Ram’s abilities, you’ll find the TA 12S shotgun to be the perfect secondary weapon.
  • MK19mm

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 Commendation and Player Protection Update

A new commendation system is being introduced this season, allowing the team to showcase the positive aspects of Rainbow Six Siege. At the end of each match, players can commend two teammates in three different categories. These categories include a player’s dedication to being an engaging teammate, their guidance, which is their helpfulness, and finally, their valor, which is their positivity during the match.

You’ll also be able to commend an enemy player for their worthiness as an opponent. Engaging in the commendation system will reward players with Alpha packs.

The Siege team also adds a reputation page that shows key negative reactions and behavior that can impact a player’s reputation. This page breaks down several of those behaviors.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 Game Modes Update:

Quick Match and Playlist Changes

  • All round timers, from the planning to the action phase, are changing to make quick matches quicker. The quick match algorithm is also being tweaked to make finding matches faster.
  • Soft resets will be performed on Quick Match Skill to bring players together.
  • A new system called “Pre-Setup” is being introduced for the Defender side. These are predeployments of reinforcements and rotation holes at the start of the round.
  • On the attacker side, they will get a new system called “Attacker Protection.” This will give attackers 10 seconds of invulnerability at the start of the round, making it much safer for them to approach a building.
  • All these changes are meant to push Quick Match into a much quicker and more casual place.
  • The unranked mode name will be changed to Standard starting the season to better fit the game’s playlist ecosystem. It’ll be a midpoint between Seige’s most competitive and casual modes.
  • Map and operator ban phase is being removed from Standard mode, so all content can be played without restrictions.
  • Overtime rounds are being changed to 1 so as not to drag the matches for too long.
  • These changes will make Standard the “Go-to” for players who want the classic Seiege experience without jumping to Ranked.

 New Game Mode for Arcade

  • Weapon Roulette is being added to Arcade this season. This is a Team Deathmatch mode where all players start with the same weapon that changes to a random new one after a short time.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 Balancing Changes and Update

Frost

  • Welcome Mat
    • The time to escape the trap is being increased from 2.5 seconds to 4 seconds.
    • It will have a more severe debuff that lasts up to 60 seconds. Player’s speed will be reduced to walking speed and continue to leave a blood trail, along with all the vocal calls.

Grim

  • Launcher efficiency is receiving a buff.
  • An alternative mode is being added to the launcher that will allow players to bank canisters off a surface rather than having them directly stick to them.

Fuze

  • Fuze’s charge can now be deployed on shields, including Talon Shields from Osa.

Shotguns

  • The entire weapon class is being overhauled to make them more reliable tools to use, though slug shotguns will not be included in this overhaul this update.
  • More precision when you’re ADS’d
  • More destruction when you aren’t ADS, even more when you are moving and not ADS.
  • Shotguns will be far more consistent and viable with this update.

Onboarding (Tutorials)

To make the Seige experience more welcoming for newcomers, there will be three new tutorials introduced in this update. These will go over the basics, attacker, and defender aspects of the game to help ease players, and make them feel more confident when joining player matches.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 Quality of Life Updates

  • “Free Cam Plus Hide UI” – The HUD can now be removed during the free camera in match replays. HUD removal will also be available in the spectator mode.
  • The ability to kick and promote players in a squad will be introduced in this update.
  • You’ll soon be able to read patch notes in-game via the new patch notes page. These will come with filters that highlight key changes.

Rainbow Six Siege Y8S3 Battle Pass Update

  • Discoverability and navigation are being worked on this season for the Battle Pass.
    • A new intro tab will be added to the Battle Pass, which gives you an overview of the main rewards in the Battle Pass.
  • More improvements will be introduced in other seasons.

Elden Ring Caught Lord of the Fallen Devs by Surprise; Discuss Similarities Between the Two

In case you haven’t seen it yet, HexWorks and publisher CI Games are set to release Lords of the Fallen later this year. A reboot of the original 2014 release, Hexworks is reimagining the game in a way that seemingly puts it closer to Fromsoftware’s Souls series. Huge steps to follow, especially after the release of Elden Ring, which apparently even caught the studio by surprise as they discuss some of the similarities found in there game, while remaining confident that they’ll be offering a unique experience.

In an interview with MP1st, HexWorks head of studio Saul Gascon and Creative Director Cezar Virtosu talk about the similarities between the two games, and how Elden Ring caught the studio “by surprise.”

MP1st: Has Elden Ring had any effect on the game’s development, be it removing or changing some gameplay mechanics or design because of it, this is something like a remake or reboot, you know, did that factor in at all?

Cezar Virtosu – I hate this answer, but it is yes and no – It’s a non-answer. What I meant is that Elden Ring caught us by surprise. We were expecting something great, not something groundbreaking. Nobody expected that sort, and it came late in our development, so we had to stick with our guns.

Because the way we do business is that we lock gameplay metrics on placeholder assets early on, and from there we just do tweaks as we create art. This is our way to cut on the iteration time and create AAA in 3.5 years.

Luckily, our industry savviness, we picked our horses differently than Elden Ring. We also overlapped on some of the improvements. For instance, the crafted tankers, the vestiges, we thought we were giving the players a bit too much with manual saves, but then we saw Elden Ring doing the Stakes of Marika and we’re like, alright, we’re good. We were very concerned that we were doing too much accessibility.

Some of the weapons that we’ve done, we found them in Elden Ring. Okay, there’s nothing we can do.

They have a girl that flies and fights with a sword. We have a girl that flies and fights with a sword. They had a small noble. We have a small noble. But we didn’t change them. We left them as they were. We are confident that they have different thematics, different stories than the ones from Elden Ring. They have flying creatures. We have some flying birds and things.

I would say 98% of the game is untouched. But if we saw something that looked like Elden Ring, and we can do something about it in tweaks, colors use, and VFX, that’s what changed.

Saul Gascon – I think you nailed it. Of course, we are very aware of what surrounds us, where and when are we launching, and who’s around like the big one. We took a look, we played it, we checked, and then said, okay, we are good. We don’t overlap with them too much.

And actually, with Umbral, we really are on a different side. We saw as well and compared the main strength of being open world, right? That is something that also we checked as well with our playtests, and people appreciated that we were not open world. So it’s like a different experience. In that regard, it was a very good thing, though, that they brought in the audience, they made the game more accessible to more people, and then from those people who are taking those, are looking for us, for a more intense, handcrafted experience.

Lords of the Fallen is set to be released this October 13 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned to our full interview hitting the site soon!

Baldur’s Gate 3 Opening Weekend Stats Shows Paladin as Most Used Class, 10M Hours Played and More Revealed

The resounding success of Baldur’s Gate 3 is only at the beginning, but Larian Studios couldn’t be more pleased with the outlook. With a peak concurrent count of roughly 815,000 according to the Belgian developer and literally crushing the usual #1 on Steam – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive –  in terms of engagement, they surely have a large smile on their faces.  So much that Larian is already looking into the future, with hotfixes and work on the first major patch already underway. But this community update was also the opportunity to learn a lot from player choices after the game’s official launch, with Baldur’s Gate 3 opening weekend stats revealing the favorite Races and Classes, among other interesting facts.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Opening Weekend Stats:

The first statistics focus on the Race and Class choices. Half-Elves are right there on top, followed closely by Humans and Elves, leaving the last place for the Githyanki — apparently, this came as a surprise to the developers. As for Classes, the community seems to be very fond of the Paladin, and doesn’t really care much about the Cleric.

Players who decided embark on one of the Origin stories chose Gale for the majority, with Karlach and Astarion pretty much a tie for second place. Larian also revealed that 10% of characters made in Character Creation were there for over an hour, so you definitely like to make it shine – and this is in fact something that the community is requesting, a mid-game appearance change option in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The remaining statistics cover some wide topics, and we’ll highlight some of the most important here. Most players seem to be more inclined to the good side of diplomacy, and Scratch is definitely top good boy, as he was petted over 750,000 times – dark times these may be, but petting always must be done.

Finally, and possibly the most eye-opening fact from the entire infographic: 368 players managed to finish the game during the opening weekend. If that’s not devotion and commitment, I don’t know what it is.

Report: Modern Warfare 3 Demo Is a Timed PlayStation Exclusive for Five Days

In one of those decisions that are likely to leave some players frustrated, Activision has decided to make the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 demo a timed exclusive for PlayStation consoles. Call of Duty fans owning Sony’s console will have a five days head start compared to other players on PC or Xbox platforms.

The reveal was made in Sony’s Arabic’s YouTube channel, and Call of Duty reliable leaker BKTOOR discovered the news and shared it among its followers. You can find the tweet below.

As you can see in the image with a huge “play the demo first on PlayStation” shout, the fine print mentions that these players will have five days to check out the anticipated shooter before others may do the same. However, a pre-order is required to access the demo, so this isn’t exactly one with free access:

Available on PlayStation at least five days before any other platform. Pre-order required to access early beta.

If you own a PS4 or PS5 and want to join in, dust off your wallet and pre-order Modern Warfare 3. The best thing is that a lot of items from Modern Warfare 2 carry over to Modern Warfare 3, including bundles, operators, and more.

Of course, this timed exclusivity is part of Activision’s deal with PlayStation for Call of Duty games; a deal that’s said to be ending with Modern Warfare 3. And with Microsoft soon to make its acquisition of Activision-Blizzard official, don’t expect any timed exclusive anything from PlayStation for Call of Duty.

Keep on top of every bit of info starting with the MW3 reveal coming August 17, and then it’s a matter of time as you wait for the grand launch, currently slated to November 10, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. The Steam page is already open in case you want to wishlist the game on PC.

There are seven studios working on Modern Warfare 3, something that is fairly mind-blowing: there’s Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Beenox, Raven Software, High Moon Studios, and Demonware.

THQ Nordic Has 20 Unannounced Games in Development

Just yesterday, THQ Nordic unveiled a new South Park game alongside new trailers for their existing projects at the THQ Nordic Showcase 2023 event. While the publisher has quite a fair number of games still unfinished, the company also confirmed that they have still quite a lot left to reveal.

THQ Nordic Unannounced Games Confirmation:

According to THQ Nordic, as of the event yesterday, they have 37 games in development, which puts the unannounced projects at 20!

Of course, there’s no word what these unannounced projects might be. It could be smaller titles or big ones, but rest assured, the publisher still has a few aces up its sleeve.

The known new projects currently cooking are TMNT: The Last Ronin, and South Park: Snow Day. Let’s hope THQ Nordic’s games do well, as to stem the bleeding cashflow from parent company Embracer after failing to complete the $2 billion deal.
