Anthem Cross-Play Not Happening at Launch, Early Look at Storm Ultimate UI

With Anthem having a strong emphasis on online multiplayer and co-op play, some might be hoping that you’ll get to play with your friends regardless of platform. Well, that’s not happening — at least at launch.

Over on Twitter, Executive Producer Mark Darrah confirmed that there’s no Anthem cross-play or cross-progression happening at launch.

This isn’t surprising given how most games these days don’t have cross-play, and even some of the big AAA titles coming out won’t have it enabled either.

Also on Twitter, Lead Producer Ben Irving posted a picture of the Storm ultimate UI, which gives us our first early peek at the ultimate abilities in the game.

In other Anthem news, go check out what each javelin type can do, and its abilities right here. BioWare has also revealed that Anthem’s version of raids will have matchmaking!

Anthem will fly out this February 22, 2019 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Casino.com: Is This the Place to Go for Casual Multiplayer Games?

Casual multiplayer games are going through a bit of a resurgence at the moment. While Fortnite’s updates keep even its tuned-in player base on its toes, regularly adding new features and weapons, the game is well-suited to players who only have an hour or so. So much so that the game has made $300 million catering to casual players on mobile devices who may play the game during breaks or on the way to work.

We’ve also seen the likes of vehicle racer Rocket League, squad-based shooter Splatoon 2, and silly restaurant management title Overcooked appeal to the same demographic. But, if you’re short of time and don’t have time to invest hours learning the ropes of a new game, you’re going to keep looking for more casual multiplayer games to play. Online games portal casino.com may be a winner then, so keep reading for our full review.

What Multiplayer Games Are on Offer?

While you probably think of casino games as slots (which are predominantly played solo) or games in which you face off against the dealer, this site does have a solid handful of multiplayer titles. This includes multiplayer blackjack, which allows five players in a room, all aiming to reach 21 with their cards. It’s like the card game you know and love except, now, there’s a chat window that allows players to talk to one another. And yes, before you ask, the chat does feature emoji support!

Other multiplayer titles include multiplayer blackjack surrender, which allows you to surrender your hand and lose half your bet after the dealer checks for blackjack, and multiplayer French roulette/multiplayer European roulette, which are roulette games with a greater social vibe.

How Does it Cater to Casual Players?

Plenty of this site’s players will know their stuff but the site is pretty good at catering to casual players too. Take the roulette games as an example. They allow you to save up to four sets of bets as a favorite bet so that you can quickly put money down if there is a particular option that you like to bet on. This makes it ideal for casual players who haven’t got much time to spare and want to put money on the outcome as soon as possible.

Casual players are also supported by this site’s mobile app and mobile adaptative site, which are intuitive and easy to use. Both the site and the app provide access to a massive amount of games to choose from including slots, video poker, and live casino games if you want to switch it up. So, if you’re on the go, it’s handy to have quick access to your favorite casino games with no fiddling or messing about trying to make the games compatible.

Other Top Tips and Need to Know Information

It’s worth noting that although the site seems quite good for casual players and new fans (it even has free spins in the welcome bonus), the aim is to encourage you to become a regular player. This site also offers a VIP system that offers exclusive promotions, VIP only events, a personal account manager and more.

It is suited to casual play when you have a few minutes to play here or there. But it’s positive to know that the option is there should you want to invest more time in playing.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Biggest Digital Day One Sales in Activision History

Well, it seems Treyarch knows what it’s doing with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. In a press release, Activision has announced that the Black Ops 4 launch day sales are now the biggest digital day one sales number in the publisher’s history!

The previous record holder was last year’s Call of Duty: WWII. Not only that, but Black Ops 4 has now set a record for day one digital full game sales on the PlayStation Store globally! As for the Xbox One version? It also became the best-selling Activision Xbox One digital game on day one. While it didn’t set the same records on PC, it did deliver a new franchise high of which PC digital sales more than doubled year on year.

Here’s a quote and the rest of the info straight from the press release:

It’s not only the Black Ops 4 sales numbers though. According to Activision, even the total number of people who connected online increased compared to COD: WWII.

“Black Ops 4 is an incredible game, and the community’s response to it has been amazing. We have shattered multiple digital day one sales records, and the number of people who connected online on day one to play has grown year on year,” said Rob Kostich, EVP and GM, Call of Duty. “But probably the most important thing is that the community is having so much fun across Multiplayer, Zombies and Blackout. We are so incredibly thankful for the community’s trust and support. This is just the beginning, it’s going to be an incredible journey with Black Ops 4.”
Digital downloads of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 are based on unit sell-through on the first day of availability worldwide.  Largest day one digital sales in Activision history based on combined console and PC units sold through on the first day of availability worldwide. Largest day one digital full game sales on PlayStation Store according to PlayStation. Largest Activision Xbox One digital game sales in Activision’s history based on Activision sales data.

Congrats, Treyarch! Well deserved!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Game Settings Update Out, Here’s the Hotfix Notes

Same as yesterday, Treyarch has rolled out a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 game settings update. Thankfully, this is via a server-side hotfix, which means you don’t have to download anything at all. There’s a bunch of balance passes and technical fixes in this hotfix, which you can read about below.

Included in the hotfix notes are a couple of things Treyarch is tweaking which will be rolled out in a future Black Ops 4 update/hotfix. Check out the fill list (via Treyarch):

  • General
    • General stability and crash fixes across all modes.
  • Zombies
    • Gameplay Balancing
      • Increased player health in Casual, Normal, and Hardcore Difficulty in Classic mode by 50 points.
      • Balance adjustment to rate at which players earn points.
      • Balance adjustment to Tiger attacks.
      • Balance adjustment to Hellhounds (spawn radius, speed, and frequency).
      • Balance adjustment to Hellfire Special Weapon.
      • Reduced cost of shield repair and replacement.
      • Resolved an issue where some players experienced a crash in the Laboratory.
  • Multiplayer
    • Create-a-Class
      • Mastercraft camos can now be properly unlocked.
      • Adjusted unlock requirements for the active camo on various Signature Weapons (MX9, GKS, ICR-7, Strife, SG12).
    • Gameplay
      • Prevented Scorestreak kills from counting toward progress in certain Challenges.
  • Blackout
    • Characters
      • Addressed an issue that occasionally prevented players from unlocking Ajax.

We’ve also made the following additional update specific to PC:

  • Blackout
    • Fixed an issue where Trauma Kits would occasionally not work properly.

Here are some of the hot topics we’re currently tracking and/or working on for a future update:

  • PC Crashes
    • We’re tracking a number of these across several different configurations, and the team at Beenox is working to identify and fix these as they come up. Watch /u/TreyarchPC and @TreyarchPC on Twitter for PC-specific Black Ops 4 updates, and please be as descriptive as possible when reporting crashes (for example, “error code Negative 345 Sky Wolf”) and what was happening in the game at the time of your crash. Every bit of info helps the team track and squash these issues.
  • Map Spawns
    • We adjusted spawns in Domination in yesterday’s update, and have seen reports of map spawn issues across other MP modes. We’re investigating these now and will address as necessary in upcoming updates.
  • Progression Issues
    • We’re investigating reported issues where some users have experienced a temporary loss in some progression stats, while others have reported Hardcore wins not counting toward Challenge progression, and/or losing a match already in progress counting as a loss. Our teams are on it.
  • Weapon Camo Issues
    • We’ve seen reports of instances where certain camos can cover up the Optic on your weapon. This is on the list for a fix in the near future.

In other Black Ops 4 news, it seems Supply Drops won’t be part of the equation this year.

Red Dead Redemption 2 File Size to Be Approximately 88GB on Xbox One

With the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2 fast approaching, and the game seemingly bursting at the seams with content, some might be wondering if the alleged Red Dead Redemption 2 file size of 105GB is true. Thankfully, it seems it’ll be a lot less than that.

Over on the official Microsoft Store, the Xbox One version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has its file size listed as 88.57GB, which is considerably lower than 105GB. That said, there’s almost always a day one update these days, which is bound to add a few more to that 88GB total. Also, there’s a chance that the PS4 Red Dead Redemption 2 file size might be lower or bigger, though it usually is at the same for most games.

In other Red Dead Redemption 2 news, go check out what sort of armaments you’ll be wielding come October 26. We also posted what’s allegedly a leaked Red Dead Redemption 2 Trophies/Achievements list as well.

Finally, for those curious what bonus early content PS4 gamers have, Rockstar announced it, and it’s not as bad as it seems.

Here’s What the PS4 Messaging Glitch Message Looks Like, Preliminary Fix Detailed

Just a few hours ago, we broke a story on how people are getting messages on PS4 that in turn, froze/locked their consoles. While we don’t know what messages to avoid, we at least now know what the actual PS4 message glitch image looks like!

Thanks to user Huntstark, check out how this seemingly innocuous message can wreck havoc on your expensive PS4.

So what to do if your PS4 gets affected, or in this case, infected? There is a preliminary fix before Sony (hopefully) rolls out a proper way to make sure this doesn’t affect anyone.

ResetEra user kennyamr listed a way which can foil this nasty PS4 message glitch, and you won’t even need to restore the console to its factory settings!

If one of those messages are sent to you, just turn off the console.
Take the phone app and erase the message.
Then press down the power button for 7 seconds to make the PS4 go into Safe Mode.
Finally proceed to Rebuild the Database to fix the problem. (This is not factory reset, nothing will be erased).
Of course, after all that, report the dummy account to Sony.

Others say that removing the message from the phone app is enough to fix the problem, but there are some conflicting reports on this.

I guess you can try just removing the message with your phone and wait a few minutes first.

Note that this isn’t a sure-fire way to fix this glitch, but so far so good, it seems to be working. In the meantime, make sure you change your messages to private. If you’re unsure how to do that, here’s a step-by-step instruction:

  • Go to the PS4 messages app/icon
  • Once you can see your messages, click the “Options” button on your controller
  • Click on “Privacy Settings (Messages)”
  • Enter your password
  • Change it to “Friends Only” or “No One”

Obviously, restricting your social interaction to just your online friends isn’t ideal, but it’ll have to do for now, lest you want to go through all that hassle in fixing the

Rumor: Are These the First Images of the N64 Classic Mini?

With the success Nintendo has had with the NES Classic and the SNES Classic (or otherwise known as the NES Mini and SNES Mini), it’s almost a given that we’ll see an N64 Classic Mini in some form or another. Well, if this recent leak is legit, we might have just gotten our first look at the new Nintendo retro console.

Over on Twitter, user Nacho & Pistacho (yep, that’s his actual handle) posted what looks to be an N64 Classic Mini console complete with controller ports just like the ones we saw on the SNES Classic.

Before anyone rushes out to pre-order one, there is the chance that this is a fake/mock up or something not official. We’ve reached out to Nintendo and if we hear anything back, we’ll update the story.

If Nintendo did release an N64 Classic Mini, what games would you want to see included? Can Nintendo even include some of Rare’s old titles? Let us now what you think in the comments.

Report: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Supply Drops Not Happening, “New Way” of Getting Items to Be Introduced

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is already out and being played feverishly by gamers around the world, one thing that’s curiously missing are the Supply Drops (what Call of Duty calls its loot boxes) that has been present in the past few Call of Duty titles this generation. Since launch, Treyarch, nor Activision has not mentioned or hinted at Black Ops 4 Supply Drops, and now we know why.

Over on Reddit, user GrandPaladin22 mentioned how his friend contacted Activision Support regarding something about the game, but also asked when Supply Drops will be coming to Black Ops 4.

The Activision Support rep mentioned that there is “a new way” of getting the items, you want, which heavily suggests that microtransactions will still be in Black Ops 4, which isn’t surprising at all.

Of course, there is the chance that the customer service rep doesn’t know the full story. Nonetheless, we’ve contacted Activision for a statement and will update the story if and when we get a response.

Are you missing Supply Drops in Black Ops 4? What do you hope will replace it?

In other Black Ops 4 news, make sure to check out the latest update Treyarch has made to the game, right here.

Battlefield V War Stories Trailer and Gameplay Dropping Next Week

Since Battlefield V’s reveal. developer DICE has focused mostly on the multiplayer aspect of the game, which is understandable given the franchise’s multiplayer-centric fan base. Lest anyone forgets, there is a single-player component to the game as well, which will be called “War Stories.”

If you’re looking forward to Battlefield V’s full fledged single-player campaign, then you’re in luck! In a super short video, Eric Holmes, Design Director of Battlefield V’s War Stories has revealed that this coming week, players can expect gameplay footage, a trailer, and blog posts from DICE about the mode.

In case you didn’t know, Battlefield V’s single-player mode will be similar to Battlefield 1’s episodic format. Here’s what the official Battlefield website has to say about the mode:

The War Stories of Battlefield™ V portray relatable people facing brutal warfare filled with Battlefield moments. In these intimate single-player stories, you’ll witness World War 2 through the eyes of the men and women who were entangled in a conflict that would change the world forever.

Using the popular anthology format introduced in Battlefield™ 1, each War Story will take players to unexpected fronts, such as the scorching North African desert, the sublime but hostile Norwegian mountains, and several other locations we’ll reveal on the road to Battlefield V.

In other Battlefield V news, don’t forget to check out this in-depth Q&A posted by DICE regarding the game’s weapons. We also get our first look at the dog tags in the game here too.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Hotfix Rolled Out, Fixes Domination Spawns and More

As part of Treyarch’s continued support for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the studio has rolled out a Black Ops 4 hotfix (which means no need to download a big file, but changes made on the server’s end), and it’s supposed to fix the Domination game mode spawn issues a lot of players seem to be encountering.

Here’s the complete list of changes according to Treyarch:

  • General
    • Resolved an issue where new players sometimes didn’t have a default Calling Card on initial boot.
    • Improved an animation in the player’s health bar when taking damage.
    • Resolved an issue where Prestiging a weapon wouldn’t remove its attachments.
    • Fixed overhead names and rank for bots in the lobby.
    • General stability fixes.
  • Multiplayer
    • Domination
      • Improved spawn balancing in Domination, which should alleviate some of the issues people have reported. The system has some new capabilities to reduce the frequency of spawn flipping (also a commonly requested change), and that comes with new challenges in striking the right balance between less flipping and less trapping. This is a first step, and we expect it to take a few iterations to achieve the right balance.
    • Equipment
      • Torque’s Razor Wire will no longer deal damage to the player or teammates in Hardcore. No more getting kicked for inadvertent team kills.
    • Create-a-Class
      • Resolved an issue that allowed players to utilize an extra Attachment slot.

We’ve also made the following additional update specific to PC:

  • Framerate
    • Framerate is now uncapped in all modes!

As always, we’re tracking a host of topics from the community, and we’re working behind the scenes on several updates slated for the next week. Some of these include:

  • Zombies
    • Gameplay Balancing Pass
      • Those of you who tuned into the #CODNation Challenge AMA with Jason Blundell and Fred “Nikolai” Tatasciore yesterday know the team is hard at work on our first post-launch balancing pass for Zombies, including nerfs to Hellhounds and Tigers. Look for a detailed update on this tomorrow!
    • Playlists
      • We’ve combined Blood of the Dead and Classified into one “Aether Story” playlist to ensure players will be given the best matchmaking experience possible across those two maps. These playlists will change over time, and we may decide to offer a Blood of the Dead-only playlist depending on community demand. Let us know what you’d like to see.
    • Treyarch Authenticity Stamp
      • Related to Leaderboards, the Treyarch Authenticity Stamp is a feature that we’re excited to implement for our hardcore Zombies players who’d like to prove their prowess to the world. There’s a lot of data behind this system, so we’re taking the time we need to ensure 100% accurate reporting and a streamlined process to share your achievements. Stay tuned for more info soon.
  • Leaderboards
    • As we mentioned on Twitter yesterday, we’re working to enable Leaderboards in both MP and Zombies next week. Stats are being recorded for Leaderboards, just not displayed yet. Thanks for your patience.
  • Combat Record
    • As with Leaderboards, we’re planning on bringing Combat Record online in an update next week. We’re still tracking your stats behind the scenes, so no worries there.
  • Ranked/League Play
  • Search and Destroy Custom Games
    • We’ve seen reports of custom Search and Destroy matches ending after round 7, and players sometimes getting stuck spectating teammates instead of spawning in. The team is currently investigating.
  • Xbox One Deluxe Edition Content
    • Some players had trouble accessing the Shadowman Blackout character or the Classified Zombies experience because they didn’t auto-download the content. If this is still affecting you, please follow these steps to access this content.
  • PC Updates
    • As always, follow /u/TreyarchPC for separate PC-specific posts with all the details on the latest updates and what we’re tracking on the PC front.

This isn’t the first hotfix the studio rolled out, either. Check out this list of changes made by the studio just yesterday.

Report: New PSN Message Glitch Can Freeze and Lock Your PS4 (Update #2)

Update #2:

The official PlayStation Spain Twitter account tweeted that Sony has acknowledged the PS4 messaging issue, and are working on a fix.

Update:

Updated the headline and took out “brick” since the console gets locked.

ResetEra user kennyamr has posted a workaround that should work.

Original Story:

While it’s never OK to spread rumors and panic among people, this one is a special case. It seems there’s a new PSN message glitch spreading now that’s bricking PS4s! Nope, this isn’t a joke.

This was posted by Reddit user Huntstark who mentioned that this happened to him and his friends, with the only way to fix it was via a factory reset.

WARNING: Set your messages to private from r/PS4

Just the other day, another user on Reddit also mentioned the same thing happening. User Pindabaas mentioned he received a PM (private message) from someone with two symbols on it, and the console froze, and gave a CE_36329-3 error.

Somebody send me 2 symbols through PM, and now I keep getting ce-36329-3 error from r/PS4

What’s more, Pindabaas used another account and sent those same symbols and yep, it froze again, confirming that the PM was the cause of the console malfunction.

On Sony’s official website, the CE-36329-3 PS4 error code means “An error has occurred with the system software.” The fix suggested is the following:

An error has occurred with system software

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions and select [Report Problem].
  2. Make sure that you have the latest version of the System Software installed by selecting [Settings] > [System Software Update].  The system should then be restarted.
  3. If you have upgraded the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) in your system, please re-install the original HDD.
  4. If the error occurs again, back up your saved data, and then go to [Settings] > [Initialization] and choose [Initialize PS4].
  5. If the error continues and occurs with every application, or as soon as the application starts, please contact PlayStation Support.

The only main way to stop this now is to set your messages to “private” so not anyone can mesasge you randomly.

We’ve contacted Sony about this and will update the story if and when we get a response.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Fixes and Upcoming Tweaks Listed by Treyarch

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 now out in the wild, there’s bound to be a few issues already discovered by the community. Treyarch, of course, expects this and has even rolled out a server-side update for a chunk of Black Ops 4 fixes.

We’ve made the following updates to the game today (Global):

  • General
    • Made many stability and UI improvements based on early tracking of live issues prior to official launch.
  • Multiplayer
    • Fixed an issue where Free-for-All players could sometimes appear on a team together.
    • Players are now granted bonus XP for unlocking Reactive and Mastercraft camos.
    • Corrected some inaccurate Challenge descriptions.
  • Zombies
    • Turned on Easter Eggs for all Zombies levels.
  • Blackout
    • Addressed some issues with Merits and stat tracking.

We’ve also made the following additional fixes specific to PC:

  • Framerate
    • Framerate cap increased to 160 FPS; uncapped framerate planned in the coming days.
  • Menus
    • Fixed an issue causing a UI error to appear when right-clicking characters in the Personalization menu.
    • Fixed an issue that caused UI elements to persist on screen when opening the Player menu at the same time as a match starting.
    • Fixed an issue causing the Social and Settings menus to be inaccessible when spectating in Blackout.

Treyarch has also mentioned that the community can expect frequent communication and updates from the studio. This launch is the start of what the studio calls a “living, breathing” game that they’re committed to “over the long haul.”

Finally, here are some of the improvements the studio is looking into based on community feedback.

  • We’re aware that players have been able to use Gestures (often referred to by the community as “Emotes”) to peek around corners in modes where that can create an unfair advantage. We’re currently working on an update that creates two systems for Gestures – the default system that is in the game now, and a competitive version that disables free look and applies different camera settings to prevent using it to see around corners. The default system will be used in parts of the game where corner peeking won’t affect gameplay balance (like the staging area of Blackout), and the competitive version will be used in modes where a more restrictive camera system is needed. We want players to always have fun with Gestures as intended, but never at the expense of fair gameplay!
  • There have been reports of sub-optimal spawning in Domination. We’re aware and working to improve that immediately.
  • Razor Wire should never trigger “team kill” detection in Hardcore modes. This is unintentional and will be fixed.

In case you’re curious, there’s a Blackout emote peeking exploit that’s doable now, which Treyarch will swat in a future update.

Check Out the Full Fallout 76 Map Right Now

With Bethesda now dipping its toes into the shared world, games-as-a-service (GaaS) genre with Fallout 76, some might be wondering just how big this version of the Wasteland set in West Virginia is.

It’s big, but you don’t have to believe me, you can check out the full Fallout 76 map below.

Of course, this is a big overview of the map, and we’re unsure for now just exactly which places we can actually go to. Given Bethesda’s past games though, I wouldn’t be surprised if we can trek through the entire thing.

In other Fallout 76 news, go check out how microtransactions are being handled in the game. Don’t forget, there are hours of gameplay footage available to watch right now.

Here’s How Gamers Are Doing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Emote Peeking Move, Treyarch Says Fix Incoming

Just yesterday, we posted a short clip that featured how Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 had emotes (or gestures if you want to be different) that can be activate in-game. While these look funny and add a layer of personality to the match, it seems it also allows inadvertent cheating in Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale.

In case you’re curious, here’s how you can “cheat” via Black Ops 4 Blackout emote peeking (via sw3ar).

As you can see, the player can see around the tree to make sure the coast is clear before looting. It’s definitely exploitable, and chances are, people are already doing it.

Thankfully, Treyarch knows about it and has said that the studio is working on an update that creates two systems for Black Ops 4’s emotes/gestures. The new one will a competitive version that disables free look, and applies different camera settings to prevent this little exploit.

We’re aware that players have been able to use Gestures (often referred to by the community as “Emotes”) to peek around corners in modes where that can create an unfair advantage.

At least a fix is incoming, right? Once it’s out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Have you tried doing this Black Ops 4 Blackout emote peeking move? Go on, there’s no shame in admitting that you want every advantage to win.

Battlefield V Weekly Debrief Includes Massive Weapons Q&A

It’s the end of another week, and that means another Battlefield V Weekly Debrief from DICE. While the studio dived deep into weapons and vehicle specializations, the big thing here is the Q&A part where DICE answers a ton of questions collected from Reddit, Twitter, etc., in one go!

Check out the full questions and answers below, with DICE’s answer in bold lettering.

Weapons General

  • Any chance we’ll see mortars again?
  • Florian Le Bihan (Game Designer): Not initially as we want to make sure we keep explosive spam as well as indirect fire kept in check. There is a chance mortars will return but with some changes to the gameplay design to ensure that we can minimize the frustration those can create.
  • Can you elaborate on the mechanics for the new Throwing Knives? Damage? Dropoff distance? Can we pick them back up after throwing?
  • FL: We’re actually modifying the design and giving it a final pass for launch. We used to spawn players with 6 throwing knives (that you can’t pick-up) dealing a flat 60 damage, getting a one shot kill would always require a headshot and the knife would initially fly at about 30m/s. This means it would drop very quickly and you would have to compensate quite a lot to hit targets at about 40 meters or so. Now, we are considering spawning players with fewer throwing knives, maybe dealing more damage in close range, and maybe some more changes.
  • Will Pistol Carbines be considered as sidearms? Maybe as stock upgrades for pistols?
  • FL: The Pistol Carbines will not be sidearms, more details on that soon!

Range

  • Will you also be making the StG44 less effective at close range?
  • FL: We’ve adjusted automatic-rifles base damage to be lower (25 instead of 27 with 2x headshot multiplier) after the Open Beta but we are still playing around with balance. More specifically to the StG44, it’s likely that we will give it some more tweaks that you will get to see in action when the game releases!

Balance

  • A concern is that weapons will change too much from Beta. Some thought it was perfect when they played. Are you changing weapon gunplay drastically from now until launch?
  • FL: We’re happy with how weapons felt and played during the Open Beta. At this point we are only looking at balance across the board (automatic rifles vs semi-auto for instance) so expect the gunplay to still be familiar on launch.

Controls

  • Will there be an adjustment made to the sensitivity while using a scope on consoles? During the beta we noticed that making very slight point of aim corrections when using the long scope was difficult due to how sensitive the stick movements were. We tried adjusting all sensitivity settings to counter it, but none of them made any difference.
  • FL: We’ve heard the feedback on that point, and we are looking at the issue!
  • How are you adjusting or improving auto-rotation aim assist on consoles?
  • FL: We are looking at it on a weapon classes basis and trying to make it non-exploitable, non-intrusive and fair. This applies to all controller inputs, not only console.

Recoil

  • How will you balance weapon recoil between the platforms? For example, we’ve seen Suomi gameplay on both console and PC, and there is a stark difference between the two.
  • FL: To clarify, the weapon balance and the amount of spread/recoil was the same for all platforms during the Open Beta. When it comes to the way forward, we aim to make weapon balancing as consistent as possible across all platforms.

Hitboxes

  • How are you mitigating against “jack-rabbiting”? Ex. When a player jumps consistently in a firefight to avoid getting their head hitbox hit, meaning less damage is taken.
  • FL: If a player jumps in a firefight they should be at a disadvantage already as it’s easier to track a target in the air given the direction can’t be controlled as much as on ground (more predictable). We’ve already made sure that the accuracy penalties are high enough when jumping which means there shouldn’t really need more mitigation for in-combat use. The soldier’s hitboxes are accurately representing the soldier model in the game too.

Squad Leader Reinforcements

  • What are you doing to mitigate against a player jumping in a squad, working quickly to get enough points to call a V1 rocket, firing it off, then bouncing to another squad just to rinse and repeat? We saw this happen in Beta on numerous occasions.
  • FL: I haven’t seen a lot of that, but to get multiple V1 Rockets by jumping from a squad to another you would need to take Squad Leader control from an idle Squad Leader since you can’t just join a squad and steal his spot! There is technically not a lot of room for abuse since the requisition points are tied to the squad itself and don’t carry over when you move from a squad to another.

Scopes/Sights

  • Any possibility of canted iron sights for scoped rifles?
  • FL: This is a good suggestion. We don’t have that option at this point but could be something interesting to add down the line!
  • What are you going to do to make bolt action rifles with iron sights as viable weapons on the battlefield for players who want to go aggressive recon?
  • FL: Iron sights actually are already the best choice if you want to play recon aggressively. It’s the sight that zooms in the fastest of all available choices and they often get some added benefits (for instance, the Kar98k gets the strip reload that isn’t available with a scope).

Bipods

  • What was the bipod issue that was fixed?
  • Dan Mitre (Global Community Manager): In Beta, the bipod animation was wonky as you ADS. If you were to ADS close to any object that you can bipod on you would lose in the firefight. Why? The bipod animation is much longer than if you were to ADS – the game instantly prioritizes bipod animation over your manual ADS. We fixed that. We also adjusted timings further across the board, deploying the bipod and aiming down sight can be done at exactly the same time now, which really helps with stop-and-go bipod gameplay and more particularly the MMGs.
  • Any chance we’ll get an option to turn off auto-bipod?
  • FL: If this is a common request we could definitely look into adding that feature.
  • Any thoughts on adding freelook when using a bipod? So, you’re able to look right and left (albeit a little limited) and not lose your bipod weapon as often as you would when moving the sights right/left.
  • FL: That would probably require us to either get away from auto-deploy bipod or add a key that can be used while bipoded, or maybe there is a better solution! I haven’t thought through it a lot, but the idea is interesting for sure – could be expanded to more than bipod I would say.

Panzerfaust

  • Will the panzerfaust also be an effective anti-infantry weapon (within reason)?
  • FL: I wouldn’t use the word “effective” but you can one-shot kill soldiers with a direct hit and a very close splash damage hit would deal significant amount of damage.

Blog Feedback – Road to Battlefield V

General

  • Why not just force the map packs as an update to BF1 so all the current player base can use them?
  • Andrew Gulotta (Producer): With every update rolled out to Battlefield 1, all content was delivered to every player who owned the base game. However, each expansion pack and its content were locked. Access limitations are lifted once a player either purchases a standalone expansion pack or Premium Pass. So, in short, everyone who owns Battlefield 1 that has latest updates installed has all content readily accessible. Now, how do we ensure all maps are played regardless of parent expansion pack? We want to mitigate against segmentation as much as we can, so we’ve ramped up our weekly map rotations, which contains a thematically, curated list of maps (both base game and expansion packs) that all players can access (regardless if you own Premium Pass or not) for the week that the map rotation is active.

Blog Feedback – The Importance of Bullet Penetration in Battlefield V

Weapon Types

  • Does bullet penetration only work for LMGs and sniper weapons?
  • Richard Antroia (Sr. Game Designer): Just as in previous BF titles, there are some materials that let through all types of bullets (glass, vegetation, etc.). This category now also includes wooden doors, but there are different weapon classes that have different degrees of damage after penetration. The general class collections are: Vehicle HMG/LMGs (shoot into buildings and through brick walls); Infantry LMGs (shoot through barricades); SLR, Slug and SemiAuto rifles (medium penetration through doors); SMG, Improved Buckshots (low penetration through doors and low on sheet metal); and finally Pistols/Sidearms (BF1 bullet penetration with the addition of low damage through wooden doors).
  • This is an example of projectiles VS the damage class containing crates, carts, shelves and chests (wood)

Bullet Types

  • Are you looking at any type of weapon specialization for increased penetration versus normal stats? Such as, the equivalent of a “steel core” or “high momentum” round.
  • RA: We have projectile upgrades for Buckshot, Slug and LMG rounds. However, as new weapons and upgrades are added, this projectile set is ready to be expanded.
  • Would it be safe to assume that the upgraded weapon penetration specialization maintains the same base material penetration rules, but increases damage when penetrating incrementally vs without an upgrade?
  • RA: As we can see in the example above, both Slug and Buckshot actually open up their capacity to penetrate certain materials as they are upgraded.

Materials

  • You didn’t dive as deep as we wanted into the different types of materials that different weapons can penetrate (Sidearms/Carbines – doors/thin assets, SMGs/shotguns – slightly better penetration values, etc.). Can you dig in a bit more?
  • RA: See the first answer above. Here is another example of the penetration matrix for the sturdier “DamageClass4” material set. This is the category where LMGs and HMGs shine. Vehicle weapons are much more devastating in this game in order to give vehicle gunners an upper hand, increasing the danger of facing a fully “squaded-up” vehicle.

  • Does each layer of cover add to the reduction in damage dealt per shot? Is there a limit to number of layers (sand bags for example) that a LMG can penetrate?
  • RA: Yes, each layer has a reduction (even glass, even though it’s minimal). Each new surface keeps reducing the incoming damage until the projectile is so weak it cannot beat the defined threshold of the material (minimum damage required for pass-through).
  • Can you blow holes in walls and see through them, using this as a tactical advantage?
  • RA: Making holes are still a pure explosive feature, but LMGs/HMGs now have the functionality of deteriorating barricades and other “simpler” covers, breaking them down over time.

Kill Feed

  • Can we can some sort of indication when we die through bullet penetration?
  • RA: That is the intention, yes, and is a feature we are working on.

Blog Feedback – How to Customize and Specialize Weapons in Battlefield V

Trees

  • Are we reading this correctly that there are effectively eight different “maxed” variations for each gun?
  • FL: That’s correct!
  • Will there be ‘optimization’ trees for handguns as well as the rest of the weapons?
  • FL: Handguns do not have access to specialization trees.
  • Will Specializations have no negative side effects? Will there be any downsides, or do they only provide advantages?
  • David Sirland (Producer): There are disadvantages on top of the missed positives from the other side of the tree you did not pick in most cases, but not all.
  • If we can own multiple EMP, please can we modify weapon’s title, i.e. EMP-hip and EMP-ads for ease of mid-operation switching?
  • DS: If and when we add multiple weapon support, some sort of naming will have to be included.
  • Can we expect to see Specializations changed if one side is significantly better than the other side?
  • FL: Absolutely. We will keep a close eye on how the specializations perform and we are open to tweaking them or replacing them if needed to maintain a healthy balance.

Re-Spec

  • Have you considered allowing us to de/re-slot a weapon perk in between spawns to adjust to changing situations? This would mean we don’t need duplicates of the same weapon in my inventory.
  • DS: Yes, we want to add in-game re-specialization, but starting with re-specialization and unlock handling in between rounds (as part of the end of round flow of results which is where you unlock new things).
  • Will we be able to set Specialization while on the server or do we have to back out to the menu to set?
  • DS: That is the long-term goal, yes. Initially, we’ll add this between rounds in connection to where you unlock/rank up your weapons and vehicles in the first place.

Customization General

  • Can we expect more weapon cosmetics than what we saw in the beta?
  • FL: Absolutely, there will be a lot more weapon customizations available at launch!
  • Will any sight be available on any weapon?
  • FL: No, sights are part of the weapon balance and we want to make sure to add sights that properly fit the weapon’s intended range. In general, all weapons have access to at least 3 different types of sights including the iron sight.

Blog Feedback – How to Specialize Vehicles in Battlefield V

Trees

  • Will this be all the specialization options, or will the trees have more than 4 choices to choose from?
  • DS: All trees have at least 2 choices per level as launch. However, this is only where we are starting with. Upcoming weapons and vehicles might utilize more than that, and there is always a possibility to add to existing trees post launch as well.

Movement

  • Will top gunners be able to duck into the turret?
  • FL: This is something we are investigating. It would be a great thing to add some elements of survival!

Destiny 2: Forsaken Purchases Will Include Curse of Osiris and Warmind Expansions Starting Next Week

If you’re thinking of jumping in to the Destiny 2: Forsaken pool, you might want to wade in starting next week. Why? If you do, you’ll get two more expansions for free!

In Bungie’s latest update, the developer made the announcement that those who buy Destiny 2: Forsaken starting October 16 will get the Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions for free! Yep, that’s not a typo, and there’s no catch!

Effective October 16, the purchase of Destiny 2: Forsaken will include the two expansions included in the Destiny 2 Expansion Pass. Every player of Destiny 2 who has yet to touch down on the Tangled Shore will need only the Forsaken upgrade. Our hope is that this will eliminate some of the questions that confront a player as they try to join our party.

Regardless if you’re a fan of the game or not, this is definitely a nice move by Bungie.

If you are thinking of getting Destiny 2: Forsaken, don’t forget that this year’s Festival of the Lost has a ton of content and rewards coming up.

Here’s Our First Look at Battlefield V Dog Tags, More Gun Customization Footage

One of the things that carried over from old Battlefield games to the current ones are the dog tags, and how they’re used both as a bragging tool and as a way to personalize your character. In Battlefield V, it’ll be the same, though this time, you’ll be able to rotate the Battlefield V dog tags and see them shine and all that.

This was revealed by Ryan McArthur, one of the Producers of Battlefield over on Twitter, where we also got to see silver and gold dog tags looking all shiny.

While we got a glimpse of the progression hub for upcoming unlocks yesterday, check out how the actual visual customization looks in weapons!

Speaking of visual customizations, DICE has heavily hinted at gold gun camos finally being available in Battlefield V! Of course, it remains to be seen whether we actually see it in the game.

For more BFV news, make sure to check back regularly on our Battlefield V hub page.

Battlefield V is set for release this November 20 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

NBA 2K19 Update Version 1.04 Dribbles Out, Full Patch Notes Available

Visual Concepts has dribbled out the latest NBA 2K19 update 1.04, and it has a host of gameplay fixes, as well as some for MyTeam, MyCareer and more.

On the PS4 version, the patch is a hefty 6.7GB and is available for download now.

General

  • Updated jumbotrons in both the Thunder and Trail Blazers arenas to match the real-world changes made there.
  • ⭐️ Nike athletes will now wear the official NBA arm sleeve containing Nike Swoosh and NBA logo. Non-branded arm sleeve is still present for non-Nike athletes.
  • Users can now set a ‘Preferred Shorts Length’ in the Gear/Shoes category when creating a player. The shorts length will then be applied when applicable.

Gameplay

  • ⭐️ Implemented the newly approved NBA rule that resets the shot clock to 14 seconds following offensive rebounds.
  • ⭐️ ⭐️ Reduced the effectiveness of on-ball steals, especially for low rated defenders by implementing the following: increased foul chances for body-to-body contact, increased ball security after rebounds when both hands are on the ball, introduced a cooldown when attempting too many steal attempts in a short amount of time, more mistargeted steal attempts for poorly rated players.
  • Fixed a soft hang where an inbounder would get stuck in an off-ball deny animation, preventing him from being able to check the ball.
  • Reduced injury wear and frequency for long quarter length games.
  • Fixed a case where the ball handler would sometimes get stuck in a double team animation after he had lost the ball.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing up and under layups from playing properly under the basket.
  • Changed the color of the Takeover rebounding reticle for Glass Cleaners to make it easier to see against darker court floors.
  • ⭐️ Slight reduction in the effectiveness of pass lane steals that are not manually triggered.
  • Adjusted shot contest animations to make them more responsive against perimeter jump shots.
  • Adjusted the key zoom camera settings for 2K Low and updated some Broadcast camera angles to more accurately reflect their real-life camera locations.
  • ⭐️ Changed the logic for the Defensive Stopper badge to apply against opponents 1 position away from the defender’s natural position or when matched up with someone within a 3-inch height difference.
  • ⭐️ Shortened several pass flinch reaction animations to improve responsiveness.
  • Bench actors will no longer twitch badly when an injured player is helped off the court.
  • ⭐️ Fixed some artificial speedups and reduced clipping by defenders when transitioning into hip rides.
  • Reduced the frequency of defenders bodying up ball handlers into back court violations.
  • Reduced clipping that could sometimes happen when two players were fighting for rebounds.
  • Increased the speed at which a defender can move while in hands-up.

MyCAREER

  • ⭐️ The Gatorade Reaction Drill will now provide badge points upon completion.
  • ⭐️ ⭐️ Addressed a case where the user would encounter a visual issue where an endorsement check appeared blank (even though the funds were properly added to the account).
  • The Dunk Contest ‘voting race’ will no longer appear during in-game presentation after the All-Star break.
  • Your MyPLAYER will now represent the proper team in the Rising Stars Challenge (Team USA or Team World) during All-Star Weekend.
  • ⭐️ Players who are 6’7 will now have their proper Lateral Quickness attribute.
  • Fixed an issue where the rotation would rebuild when the user attempted to adjust their own minutes (once this perk is unlocked).
  • ⭐️ Fixed a case where the All-Star Captain story scene would hang when both captains shared the same first name.

Neighborhood

  • ⭐️ ⭐️ The Daily Spin prize wheel experience has been improved in the Ante-Up environment. There is now a second exterior door that leads you to a room with a number of prize wheels. This will enable you to more quickly get your free rewards each day.
  • Users are now able to place text/logos on the sleeves of hoodies/t-shirts when creating Crew uniforms.
  • Users can now view how much VC has been earned next to the spinning VC coin icon in the lower-left hand corner of the screen (e.g. when you score in Red Ball Blue Ball; when you knock out an opponent in Dodgeball, etc.)
  • Improved visual fidelity with the Neighborhood football.
  • ⭐️ ⭐️ Fixed an inbounding exploit that could be used during competitive games in the Neighborhood.
  • The Trivia app is now usable inside your MyCOURT.

  • Improved camera angles when playing in the far courts in the Under Armour cages area of the Neighborhood.
  • Finger items should now properly show up in the closet when only a single finger item is owned.
  • Kinesiology tape should now properly draw on other players when viewed in the Neighborhood.
  • Fixed an issue where VC Sports Management (your agent’s office) would briefly appear closed when quickly approaching it.
  • Fixed an issue in Ante-Up where select members of a squad would experience loss of game control after losing a squad game.
  • ⭐️ Jump shot celebrations will now only automatically trigger on “green releases.”
  • ⭐️ Fixed a display issue where some users were reporting that purchased tattoos were missing. They should now reliably appear for placement.
  • Addressed a rare case where the user would get removed from the tattoo parlor and would not have their clothing items re-equipped.

Pro-Am

  • Fixed an issue where players in Pro-Am Team and the Jordan Rec Center would sometimes show up in the wrong uniforms.
  • Crowd audio will now be audible during Pro-Am gameplay.

  • Team Card menu informational pages previously missing in the MyLEAGUE Online experience have been added.
  • To add to the intrigue, you will no longer be able to sort by overall rating during the Pre-Draft Workouts and Rookie Draft time periods.
  • All-Star Weekend events are now properly scheduled when starting a new Start Today mode.
  • The results of League Meeting voting can now be reviewed upon completion in MyLEAGUE Online.

  • Fixed a hang that would occur when the number of players required to be selected during the All-Star Draft was changed to 13 via a rule change.
  • Fixed an issue in MyLEAGUE Online where the finals of the Draft Lottery tournament would sometime get scheduled in the past.
  • Addressed a hang that could occur when attempting to review the Expansion Draft/Player Protection results after either event is complete.

Once we hear of more updates, or if there’s a game-breaking bug in this one, we’ll be sure to let our readers now.
