In an interview with German gaming site Mein-MMO, Monster Hunter: Worlddirector Yuya Tokuda detailed how long the game’s campaign takes to complete. Tokuda said that the average player should expect around 40-50 hours of game time.
Here’s the relevant snippet from the (Google-translated!) interview:
Mein-MMO: How long will the players be estimated to play on average? Does Monster Hunter World have something like an end game?
Tokuda: I guess it will take about 40 to 50 hours , depending on the type of player , to complete the story. But it would not be a monster hunter game if it had no content that you could enjoy in the back. Players can continue to forge and upgrade their favorite weapons and armor after the story is over.
The game’s producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, also chipped in with the mention of weekly event quests and free updates.
Fujioka: Not only that! We will also post weekly event quests and free updates that players can enjoy after the launch.
Blizzard’s undying World of WarcraftMMORPG will be getting its winter wonderland event starting today! The World of Warcraft Christmas event will run from December 16 to January 3, 2018, and will bring with, a lot of yuletide cheer, decorations and even items.
The “Feast of the Winter Veil” will bring decorations across Azeroth, but will focus on the major cities. Giant snow globes will also in Ironforge, Ogrimmar and Dalaran and will run the course of the event.
For New Year’s Eve, Blizzard will be bringing out the fireworks in-game to mark the new year! From December 31 to January 1, the capitals of each WoW race will have a fireworks display every hour of the whole night, so you’ll be covered wherever you’re located in the world.
Lastly, the Abominable Greench will return to World of Warcraft as part of the Winter Veil, and there’ll be rewards in store for those who defeat the Christmas monster.
There’s a lot more coming to WoW this month, so best to read the entire thing here.
Tired of constantly playing on Erangel in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)? Well, you’re in luck! Bluehole/PUBG Corporation will be adding a PUBG map select option to the game sometime after its launch from Early Access, which is just a few days away (December 20).
While the original plan was to have the PUBG map selection be random so as to force players to adapt and survive (which is the entire point of the game), that won’t be the case soon (assuming there’ll be more than two maps). There are still changes and tweaks being made to the test server, which has the new desert map, Miramar, in the rotation, but the patch notes for 1.0 revealed this little nugget of info.
So we came to the conclusion that it is best to allow our players to choose which map they want to play on. However, we have 3 team modes and 2 perspectives – TPP and FPP. Adding map selection will result in there effectively being 12 game modes in total. You also need 100 players to fully experience Battle Royale. When all these factors are combined, it could be very difficult to offer a seamless experience 24/7 to players looking for matches. In some regions with smaller player bases, many issues are already expected to occur; queueing times could be extremely lengthy, matches may not start at all, matches may start with a number of players that is much lower than 100 in off-peak times
Despite these circumstances, our development team has decided to listen to our community’s feedback. We need some time to address the anticipated problems and technical issues, so maps will not be selectable right after PC 1.0 release. However, we will do our best to add the feature and required systems as soon as we can, so you can enjoy Battle Royale in the map of your choice.
Sounds good, right? Don’t say PUBG Corporation doesn’t listen to their fans!
With Dragon Ball FighterZ set for release in late January 2018 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it seems that Bandai Namco has been sharing something new about the game every other day.
Giving that it’s been a day or so since the last piece of news, said publisher is at it once again to reveal more information regarding the upcoming Dragon Ball game. That sees Dragon Ball FighterZ receive a brand new trailer showcasing some of the most memorable fights from the Dragon Ball franchise.
You can catch the trailer below.
https://youtu.be/-gcYZOvkLIQ
Additionally, it appears this trailer also gives the public its very first in-game footage of Beerus, Hit and Goku Black whom were recently announced earlier this week. Although we don’t get to see much of the aforementioned characters, I must say the small glimpses we do getare very well done — especially the small glimpse they gave us when it came to universe 6’s legendary assassin, Hit.
Regardless of what platform you play Smite on, this upcoming Tuesday will be a special one for Smite players as both the PC and console platforms are set to receive the upcoming 4.24 patch simultaneously.
Given how small this patch is, it should be a no-brainer as to why this update will be available on both PC and consoles the same day: its mostly balance changes and quality of life tweaks for characters such as Bacchus and Sobek. Finally, their mana consumption issues along with other gods are finally getting addressed.
You can catch the full patch notes below, which also includes a slight nerf to the Stone Of Gaia item:
Item Balancing
Stone Of Gaia:
• Increased Cost from 2000 to 2100
God Balancing
Agni:
• Noxious Fumes: Decreased mana cost from 60/70/80/90/100 to 60/65/70/75/80
Bacchus:
• Chug: Decreased mana cost from 40/65/90/115/140 to 40/45/50/55/60
Hun Batz:
• Sacred Monkey: Decrease mana cost from 75/80/85/90/95 to 60/65/70/75/80
Isis:
• Dispel Magic: Decrease mana cost from 80/85/90/95/100 to 60/65/70/75/80
• Spirit Ball: Decrease mana cost from 70/80/90/100/110 to 70/75/80/85/90
Odin:
• Ring Of Spears: Decrease Duration from 6s to 5s
Sobek:
• Tail Whip: Decrease mana cost from 70/80/90/100/110 to 60/65/70/75/80
If you’re wondering why this patch is very light in terms of balancing, it’s due to the Smite World Championship which will be running on this patch. With that said, Hi-Rez Studios doesn’t want to make extreme changes to the game before the biggest tournament of the year happens.
Balancing aside, as with every patch for Smite here’s the new cosmetic skins you can expect to be available for this patch. Among these new skins is the coveted Tier 5 skin for Ullr that you receive for buying a good majority of the Odyssey items this year or my personal favorite skin for this patch, the Krampus themed skin for Cernunnos:
If you somehow ran into a glitch in Call of Duty: WWII involving the “Winter Bribe” contract from the Winter Siege event, where you couldn’t get the rewards, Sledgehammer knows about it and has explained what’s happening.
Apparently, the Winter Bribe contract can only be earned once! Sledgehammer Games unknowingly made it so that the contract mission can be picked up again in error. However, for those who did pick it up, and finished it but didn’t get anything in return, fret not! Sledgehammer Games has reached out so affected players can get their Armory Credits back.
If you can’t see the Reddit message from the verified Sledgehammer Games account, it reads:
Hi everyone,
We recently fixed the issue with Winter Bribe Contracts. If you were able to purchase a second Winter Bribe Contract, please comment on this thread with your GT and platform, and we will work with Activision Support to help restore your Armory Credits.
Thank you, and we apologize for the confusion!
If you were affected by this little unfortunate incident, then post on this Reddit thread to have Sledgehammer give you your Armory Credits back.
In other COD: WWII news, PC players can report cheaters to Sledgehammer Games via the studio’s new account created just for it.
In case you didn’t know, Star Wars Battlefront II’s The Last Jedi DLC not only included new Heroes and mulitplayer maps. but it also a single-player campaign DLC as well.
While most people might have automatically jumped in to multiplayer, you might want to reconsidered playing the campaign DLC due to the fantastic rewards one gets for completing it. Yes, you read that right, the single-player free DLC has its own set of rewards!
Those who complete it will earn 2,000 credits and 200 crafting parts, plus three green Star Cards for Iden Versio. Have you completed the single-player campaign DLC? What do you make of it? Don’t post spoilers, alright?
In other Star Wars Battlefront II news, EA is reportedly considering not reinstating microtransactions into the title at all.
At this time of the year, it’s hard to deny that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (more commonly known as PUBG) is the year’s hottest gaming property. While that resulted in the game getting a TON of sales and players, that also meant that other developers would pump out PUBG copycats to capitalize on the genre’s popularity.
In an interview with the BBC, PlayerUnkown himself, Brendan Greene, talked about his hit game. Greene isn’t a fan of the PUBG copycats, and thinks there needs to be better IP protection in games.
I want this genre of games to grow. For that to happen you need new and interesting spins on the game mode. If it’s just copycats down the line, then the genre doesn’t grow and people get bored.
In movies and music there is IP protection and you can really look after your work. In gaming that doesn’t exist yet, and it’s something that should be looked into. Some amazing games pass under the radar.
Then someone else takes the idea, has a marketing budget, and suddenly has a popular game because they ripped off someone else’s idea. I think it’s something the industry needs to look into.
While Greene was careful not to name any specific game, his last statement about “marketing budget” and getting a popular game due to ripping someone off is clearly a jab at Epic Games’ Fornite Battle Royale — a game, which is super popular and successful in its own right.
Is Greene right? Should games have better IP protection? Or do you think he’s guilty of this himself given a lot of people can and will argue that PUBG was ripped off from H1Z1?
In other PUBG news, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One version of PUBG has over one million players in its first 48 hours of availability.

In case you didn’t know, this year’s hottest game — PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds — is now out on the Xbox One. It’s been out less than a week but we can already call it a success. Why? Well, according to Microsoft, there’s already over one million PUBG players on Xbox One in just the first 48 hours alone!
Yep, you read that right! The PUBG Xbox One player count is already at over one million friggin’ players in just two days! Microsoft has called it the “hottest multiplayer game of the year” and they might not be exaggerating.
To celebrate this momentous occasion Microsoft is rolling out a special holiday promotion where every Xbox One X purchase will come with a copy of PUBG! This promo will be available in select regions for a limited time starting December 17, and will run until December 31, 2017.
In addition to that, Microsoft has mentioned that PUBG on Xbox One will receive new content updates, which include the new desert map “Miramar,” game balancing tweaks and more.
Are you one of the players who bought PUBG on Xbox One? What are your thoughts on it so far? If you’re experiencing issues with frame drops, we posted a quick fix for it that should be good enough until Bluehole releases an official remedy.
A few weeks ago, we reported that DICE will be holding a few Battlefield 1 events all throughout December to celebrate the holidays, and the studio has delivered on its word with Battlefield 1 new missions and even a double XP event!
There’s a Battlefield 1 double XP event happening now until December 17 (this applies for BF1, BF4 and BF Hardline), and a new in-game mission too! The Battlefield 1 holiday missions continue with #3, and all you have to do is get 75 dog tags and you’ll be rewarded the “Barbed Wire Bat,” pictured above.
There’s an upcoming event on December 18 that will give players who log in an extra 250 bonus scraps, and we’ll be sure to remind people once it’s live.
It’s Friday, and that means another Destiny 2 Xur items and location post from MP1st! As Bungie promised, Xur isn’t on Mercury! For this week, the hooded vendor can be located in the Tower, behind the Dead Orbit on steel steps.

DARCI – 29 Shards
Celestial Nighthawk – 23 Shards
Hallowfire Heart – 23 Shards
Eye of Another World – 23 Shards
Three of Coins – 31 Shards
Fated Engram – 97 Shards
In other Destiny 2 news, don’t forget, there’s “The Dawning” holiday event starting next week, and there’s a ton of in-game events and goodies for Guardians. In addition to that, there’s a (free) webcomic being launched by Bungie next week, with the first issue focusing on Ikora and Osiris.
What items will you be getting from Xur this week? Any suggestions?
If you weren’t able to catch the Monster Hunter World beta last week, don’t fret! Capcom has announced that the Monster Hunter World beta on PlayStation 4 is getting rolled out again — and this time, it’s open to everyone (No PS Plus membership required).
This was announced by Capcom over on Twitter where it also revealed the start and end dates.
For reference, just in case the image didn’t load for you, the start and end dates are listed below.
Start Date:
December 22, 9 a.m. PST/5 p.m. GMT/6 p.m. CET
End Date:
December 26, 9 a.m. PST/5 p.m. GMT/6 p.m. CET
Got that? Good. We’ll be posting our Monster Hunter World beta impressions soon, but the tl;dr version is, if you’re a Monster Hunter fan, you’re going to like it a lot. Heck, even non-franchise fans might like it too.
For Monster Hunter World beta details, check ’em out here. Capcom has also announced that the game will be getting free updates that will add new monsters, too!
It’s Friday, and if you’re aWarframe player, that means it’s time to go shopping! The Void Trader, Baro Ki’Teer is now selling his wares on PC!
Check out his items below, as well as suggestions on what to buy from Reddit user Lord_Dust_Bunny.
Making another “Suggested Buys” list, though remember this is subjective. Items are listed in general order they should be bought, with the ‘best’ buy being at the top of each section.
Mods:
Primed Pressure Point is a very good melee mod.
Primed Heavy Trauma is a decent mod if you like Impact based melees/Atlas’s 1. Skip otherwise.
Primed Bane of Corrupted is ok if you do long duration fissure missions and is otherwise not needed.
Primed Pistol Ammo Mutation is ok if you hate ammo efficiency and Carrier.
Cosmetics:
The Ki’teer Set is a nice armor set, although it doesn’t fit many frames.
Ki’Teer Solstice Syandana is a festive syandana, but it is very blocky and does not fit most frames well.
Everything else is summed up as if you like what it’s for (Sentinel Cosmetics, Melee Sugatras, the Twin Grakata) get it and otherwise ignore.
Other:
Sands of Inaros is always a good buy if you do not own Inaros.
Prova Vandal is a Machete that isn’t the Gazal or a Zaw. Skip unless you want the Mastery.
Are you picking anything up this weekend? Don’t forget, the PC items are different from the console ones, so keep that in mind.
Regardless of what model of Xbox One you own there’s a good chance you may have run into some unstable frame drops while playing PlayerUnknown’s Battleground.
If so, you don’t have to worry about these frustrating frame drops again. We have the PUBG Xbox One fps fix you need — at least, until an official fix is rolled out. A reddit thread about the mega-popular battle royale title has come up with a temporary solution until Bluehole address it via an upcoming patch.
All you have to do is simply follow the steps provided below:
Press the home/guide button on your Xbox One controller.
Go to the systems tab and click on Settings.
Once there look for the Preferences option and click on Broadcast & Capture.
You will now see a few new options on your screen. All you have to do is unmark the “Allow broadcast and game captures.”
That’s it. Once you’ve followed all those steps you should be able to enjoy more stable frames while playing PUBG.
In recent PUBG news, it appears that the base version of the Xbox One offers a slight advantage against those who play with the Xbox One X model. You can read all the details of it during our coverage of the story here.

With Christmas around the corner, Bungie is making sure Destiny 2’s Guardians will be taking part in the festivities by announcing the Destiny 2 The Dawning date! There’s going to be snowball fights, special Crucible events and gifts!
Starting this December 19, and ending on January 9, 2018, the full list of activities people can expect from this event is listed below.
Snowball Fights Guardians aren’t just arming themselves with weapons. There are snowball piles everywhere you look. In the Tower and at the Farm, you can tag your friends for bragging rights. In Strikes, you can blast an enemy with a snowball to stun them and deal big damage. Stay frosty out there.
Mayhem in the Cold Keep your blood warm and your heart pumping in the Crucible. Mayhem is back, so your abilities recharge faster. Point values are cranked up enough to melt the ice. It’s anarchy—and it’s awesome.
Milestones of Winter Engage in Crucible Mayhem or become legend in Strikes and you’ll be rewarded. Every week, complete a milestone for a Dawning engram. Get in the giving mood with new consumables that give rewards to everyone you’re playing with. If there’s a specific Dawning item that you have your heart set on, Tess will refresh her inventory each week, enabling you to use your Bright Dust reserves for your holiday shopping. On one week or another during the three-week event, you’ll find every Dawning-themed exotic (ship, ghost, sparrow, emote) and every Dawning-themed legendary armor piece on her shelves.
Gifting and Receiving Pick up a Dawning Gift Schematic from the Bazaar. Venture to other worlds and craft a unique gift for the vendors and agents you find in the Tower and beyond. Then, give the lucky recipient their gift and receive a gift in return. You can participate in the season of giving every day of the event.
Players won’t miss the event seeing as the entire place will be decked with snow and decorations, as you can see in the image above.
In other Destiny 2 news, Bungie has announced that a new webcomic will also be launching next week, and will dive into the lore of Osiris. Don’t forget, Xur will be appearing later to sell his wares, but it won’t be in Mercury.
If you’re a fan of the Dead or Alive fighting franchise and have already bought all the costume packs for Dead or Alive 5 (we’re not judging you if you did), then there’s possibly some very exciting news coming your way soon, and it could be Dead or Alive 6!
Over on Twitter, Team Ninja, the studio behind the jiggly fighting game franchise, is teasing that there will be an announcement on December 17.
