Star Wars Battlefront II Early Access Beta Codes – Here’s How to Get One Without Pre-Ordering

While the Star Wars Battlefront II beta is currently on-going as we speak, it’s for those who pre-ordered or got a key from EA directly. Now, for those who don’t want to wait until the beta becomes open tomorrow, October 6, there’s a way!

Over on Reddit, user DerTagestinker, outlined how you can get a free Star Wars Battlefront II beta code without pre-ordering or paying for it. Note that by listing down the instructions, MP1st does not condone or endorse how it’s done.

  • Go here, this is the EA support ticket request screen.
  • Click PS4, or whatever platform you want it on.
  • Click “Codes and promotions”
  • Click “Invalid code”
  • It’ll ask you to type the error message in the screen. You can type whatever you want, but you might as well make it something like, “My code did not work and I preordered the game.”
  • Choose your region.
  • A pop-up will ask you to log into your EA account. After you do that, it’ll ask you to write a message to go with your support ticket. Make sure your email address is correct and write out the same message as before, i.e. “My code did not work and pineapple on pizza is a sin.”
  • Submit it
  • Wait approximately 10 seconds
  • Check your email, you will receive two emails in succession, one for opening a support ticket and then one with the code.
  • Viola!
  • EDIT: I can’t help too much with the spinning wheel of death, just start over from the beginning by clicking “CONTACT US” at the top of the EA website.

Speaking of the Battlefront II beta, don’t forget to check out our video overviews of the Heroes available in the beta, as well as the weapons and skills for the four classes.

Keep it locked in here on MP1st for more Star Wars Battlefront II beta coverage.

The Division Down for 8 Hours as Part of Scheduled Maintenance

Can’t log in to The Division? Don’t fret, Agent! It’s not your internet connection but just Ubisoft cleaning the gutters, and washing the dishes in this The Division maintenance cleanup!

While The Division down time is expected to last for a lengthy eight hours (October 5 – from 12 a.m. – 8 a.m. ET), it’s not just The Division that’s affected, but all of Ubisoft’s online features and services.

Agents!

Maintenance will be taking place on Thursday Oct 5th from 12am – 8am ET [4am – 12pm UTC] and will impact our online features and services. During this time you may get disconnected from multiplayer portions of games and be unable to reconnect to other online features, devices, forums and websites. (Single player and offline play should still be available, minus leaderboards). We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding as we work to improve our services and ensure the best experience for you this upcoming holiday season.

The maintenance impacts all Ubisoft online features and services and is not specific to The Division.

Thanks for your understanding, agents!
The Division Team

Latest Injustice 2 Trailer Reveals Atom

With Raiden, the Thunder God from the Mortal Kombat franchise making it’s way to Injustice 2 very recently. It appears that the Chicago-based developer, NetherRealm Studios who’s responsible for both aforementioned titles is firing on all cylinders.

A new trailer for the DCU-based fighter has been released in which you can view above showcasing an upcoming character that will be released in the near future. Who is it you may ask? Well, according to the trailer it’s none other than Atom himself.

While his inclusion in the game isn’t very surprising even despite the fact he wasn’t officially revealed until now, NetherRealm Studios did leave a rather ‘small’ clue on the character select screen. Where one of the mysterious silhouettes for the upcoming DLC fighters was just a very small person.

Aside from Atom receiving his reveal trailer those who were patiently awaiting on Hellboy, who was announced alongside both Black Manta and Raiden, won’t have to wait much longer, as Ed Boon, the creative director for Injustice 2 and co-creator for Mortal Kombat has recently announced on Twitter that a Hellboy trailer is indeed on the way.

As Atom is undoubtedly making his way to the Injustice 2 game as apart of the Fighter Pack 3, who are the other two DCU heroes or villains would you like to see be added? Let us know in the comment section below.

        • Duration reduced from 1.5s to 1s.
    • “We’re very happy with the gameplay of Torvald now, but he’s currently an incredibly strong champion at all levels of play. First off, we wanted to make sure that Nullify could be properly countered. Secondly, we made a shift to Recharge to make sure that it was good at filling Torvald’s shields, but it wouldn’t mitigate large chunks of damage by constantly reapplying small shield amounts.”

  • Willo
    • General
      • Fixed Hemlock Willo wings clipping in Criss-Cross MVP pose

Now that’s one chunky update, no? What should Hi-Rez tweak in the next patch for Paladins

Star Wars Battlefront II Heroes – Skills, Emotes, Poses Available in the Beta

While we already featured the classes and their abilities in the Star Wars Battlefront II beta, it’s now the Heroes’ turn! In the Battlefront II beta, we’re given access to four Heroes: Rey, Darth Maul, Han Solo and Bobba Fett.

The Star Wars Battlefront II Heroes can be earned by earning Battle Points in a match, and once you reach their corresponding value (5,000 BP), then you can spawn in as one. Yes, no more pick ups this time! Note that there can only be one Hero on each side at any given time. It’s not known currently if this will change in the final game, but chances are it won’t, just for the simple fact that it will skew up the match balance.

Check out the Star Wars Battlefront II Heroes overview in the videos below to see their abilities, emotes and more.

Fortnite Player Count Now at Over 7 Million, Battle Royale Getting Duos, Supply Drops

It’s been a hectic few weeks for Epic Games and its game, Fortnite. Not only did PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer Bluehole take offense at Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale, but there’s also a Horde mode coming to he shooter-building game as well. However, Epic is sure to be jumping for joy as Fortnite has now passed seven million players!

Yep, just a week out form announcing that over a million players have combated in Fortnite Battle Royale, the Fortnite player count is now over seven million-player strong! This was announced by the official Fortnite Twitter account which also mentioned that Duos and Supply Drops are coming to Fortnite Battle Royale.

Additionally, the studio has announced Duos and Supply Drops over on the official Epic Games website, which you can read about below.

DUOS
Duos will release in most regions with this release. We want to make sure that adding a new playlist doesn’t make the experience less enjoyable so stay tuned for more updates on the status of Duos in your region.

Bring a friend and let the duos begin!

SUPPLY DROPS
Supply Drops are back! ! We tried once, but couldn’t quite stick the landing. We fixed those issues and we’re excited for them to return.

Supply Drops are more likely to contain rare weapons and items that you want in a pinch. They’re also a hot zone for attention, so planning how to grab one is important. Watch the skies for those supplies.

The dev team also touched on weapon accuracy, and have come to the conclusion that pistols should not be able to “snipe” at long range, and weapon variety should encourage engagements not make everyone camp like their life depended on it.

We did some iterations with aggressive fall-off damage (as a lot of you have already suggested). There were three main concerns we had with this model:

  1. It felt unnatural to hit a far-away target with a rifle but do far lower damage
  2. It was unclear at what distances your damage would be reduced
  3. It was still difficult to respond since you couldn’t see who was shooting at you

As a result, we set a couple key goals with our combat:

  • Goal #1 – Pistol sniping at long range should not be possible.
  • Goal #2 – Our weapons should have characteristics that encourage a wide range of engagements based on: distance to target, target type, ammo availability, etc.

This meant using accuracy as a mechanic to force closer engagement distances. In most cases, this had the desired result: weapons very neatly grouped into different ranges.

After looking at this info, we quickly realized that a Scoped Assault Rifle and a longer range SMG were required to round out our base weapon lineup, which we added in the update on 9/26.

So, what are we doing going forward? There’s a few additional approaches:

  • Some weapons don’t quite live up to their expectations. The biggest culprits are the Assault Rifles and the SMGs which were recently adjusted. We’ll continue to evaluate and there may be more incremental improvements, not a radical adjustments.
  • It can be unclear what improves accuracy. Standing still, crouching, and aiming (instead of hip-firing) all have some form of impact on accuracy. We’ll look into ways to improve usability on the reticle, including improved readability of your accuracy cone.
  • We’ll be running prototypes using more recoil and reducing accuracy penalties. The idea behind this is that the first shot will have higher accuracy (but again, not perfect) and then subsequent shots will require slightly more skill. These will be incremental adjustments until we find the sweet spot.
  • Lastly, enabling projectiles for all weapons (not just the Sniper Rifle) is something we’d like to explore. Doing this would allow for tighter accuracy overall. We’ve run prototypes internally and it shows promise, but there are challenges preventing us from turning it on. Once those are sorted out, we’ll consider running a broader test.

Based on what I played of Fortnite Battle Royale, weapon tweaking is definitely a step in the right direction. Are you surprised at how many people the game has managed to capture so far? Or is it Bluehole’s fault for not releasing PUBG sooner on consoles?

Sumo Lounge Sultan Review – Big and Beautiful Bean Bag Chair

When I game, I’m either at the PC sitting on a standard office chair from IKEA, or I’m playing on console, while relaxing on a bean bag. My bean bag of choice for the past couple of years has been a standard small one. It’s done its duty well enough, but I’ve been looking for an upgrade…

In comes the Sumo Sultan bean bag chair, which literally crushes the old unbranded one. It’s 5ft (1.5m) in diameter, with a height of 3ft (0.95m). And, because the Sultan is filled with 100% polyurethane foam — a much more comfortable (yet heavier) alternative to standard polystyrene balls — it also weighs a ton. This means it’s a little difficult to move around, but once it’s in place, you won’t have to worry about it rolling away.

There are 14 colors to choose from in total, and three different materials. I went for the Camel color and microsuede cover, and think it looks and feels pretty great. This cover is made to be stain resistant, durable, and 100% machine washable. You can also buy the covers separately to have different styles at the ready.

Next, let’s talk prices. In the US, for the Sumo Sultan with a microsuede cover, you’ll currently be looking at $279.99. Flip to Canada, and it’s $319.00 Canadian. If you’re in the UK, it’s £279.99.

Shipping is free, unless you’re in Alaska, Hawaii or the territories in Canada. The “Lifetime Guarantee” advertised on the site covers the foam fill inside of the bean bag. If it ever gets flat, hit Sumo Lounge up, and they’ll fix it. As for any damage to the seam or zipper, those are covered by a one-year manufacturer’s warranty.

So those are all of the facts. Moving onto my opinion.

The Sumo Sultan looks and feels impressive, it’s huge and envelopes even my 6’6” body. It even gives my bed a run for its money. The foam offers much more support than standard polystyrene beans, and it’s much more comfortable.

After using it for several Destiny 2 gaming marathons, and a whole lot of Fortnite Battle Royale, I can confirm that it’s held up nicely and still looks brand new. Despite being on the floor in a room where my pets often walk through, it’s managed to avoid picking up too much fluff. And if it does get roughed up a little, it’s simple to wash the cover.

If you’re looking for a premium bean bag for your gaming room or a kid’s bedroom, as a replacement for a less comfortable gaming chair or small sofa, the Sumo Sultan gets my recommendation. I’ve looked into the competition and nobody else seems to come close when it comes to the sheer size, quality, and price. Glowing reviews of Sumo Lounge made me reach out to them, and I’m happy that I did.

If you plan to order the Sultan from Sumo Lounge, please ensure that you understand just how massive it is, as even in my abnormally large room, I was shocked by how much space it takes up!

If you’re after a smaller size, but the same quality, the Sumo Gamer may be more up your street. Or, if you demand even bigger, there’s always the Titan!

Pros:

  • Looks and feels premium
  • It’s huge!
  • Heavy, and so will remain in place
  • Removable cover is washable and replaceable
  • Foam fill is much better than polystyrene beans
  • Lifetime Guarantee for the fill

Cons

  • Prices outside of US are a little high
  • Size and weight makes it difficult to move between rooms

The Sumo Lounge Sultan was provided to MP1st by Sumo Lounge. You can learn more about the Sumo Lounge Sultan by visiting the Sumo Lounge website

PUBG Developer Apologizes for Recent Server Issues, Doing Their “Best to Improve Your Experience”

The PUBG development team has issued an apology with regards to the recent connection and server crash issues.

Although the server issues haven’t yet been fixed, the developer assures us that they’re always “upgrading the service architecture,” to help with the amount of players during peak times.

Below you can find the apology:

Our development team has been continuously upgrading the service architecture to address the increasing concurrent player numbers and tackle any emerging issues. Despite our daily efforts, there were some unexpected issues during peak times and we were unable to resolve some of the issues as fast as we would have wanted to.

We anticipated about 1 million concurrent users in the beginning of our Early Access period and that is when our lobby server was initially designed. Since the end of June, our concurrent player base saw a rapid increase so we started designing a new server architecture. However, the number of users increased faster than our development speed which resulted in more connection and server issues recently.

It has become increasingly difficult to manage servers during peak times. To alleviate the above, our development team will prepare our servers far more in advance so that they can handle a much larger number of concurrent players. This is something that we plan to continuously improve on.

Many players have asked us about the increased number of server crashes in Asia. Recently, the number of concurrent players in Asia has rapidly increased and there were times the cloud service we’ve been using could not provide more physical servers. To address this problem, we added servers from another cloud service without sufficient testing. Some servers overloaded, which caused frequent crashes. Our development team is investigating the issue in order to prevent it from happening in the future.

With players having to wait a significant amount of time to access the servers, the developer has said that it is doing their best to make sure everyone can play PUBG as and when they wish.

The letter then goes on to say how the team is working hard to fix things:

The entire development team is doing their best to make sure all PUBG players in the world can play PUBG smoothly whenever they want. Again, we would like to sincerely apologize to all the players who experienced any inconveniences due to server problems or connection errors. Please rest assured that we have doubled our efforts to improve the quality of the service. On a side note, we have been continuously working on optimization and doing our best to make gradual improvements.

Our team will not be content with the status quo and will do our best to improve your experience.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

WWE 2K18 Will Not Have Any Microtransactions, 2K Confirms

2K has confirmed that WWE 2K18 will not feature any paid microtransactions. While there is an in-game currency, players will not be able to exchange real money for it.

This was confirmed on Twitter:

Here are the details on the game’s “Loot Cases”:

Unlocks and Loot Cases

Along with upgrading your MyPLAYER comes deeper customization. This year, you’ll be able to unlock hundreds of moves and Superstar parts to customize your MyPLAYERs as you see fit.

Unlocks can be earned through loot cases and progression in both MyCAREER and ROAD TO GLORY. Most Superstar parts and moves are locked from the start. Once an item is unlocked, it is then purchasable with VC.

There are three levels of loot cases: Bronze, Silver and Gold. You have a higher chance of unlocking more rare items in Silver and Gold cases. You can purchase loot cases in MyPLAYER, MyCAREER and ROAD TO GLORY. You will also earn loot cases through progression in both MyCAREER and ROAD TO GLORY.

Are you happy to hear that there won’t be any WWE 2K18 microtransactions?

In other WWE 2K18 news, here’s what’s changing in this year’s Universe mode. As for DLC and season pass plans, head here for all you need to know.

Overwatch Halloween 2017 Event Returns, Brings “Spooky New Content”

An Overwatch Halloween 2017 event has been confirmed to be happening from October 10 to November 2. It will be named “Halloween Terror” and promises to bring “spooky new content” to the game.

If it’s anything like last year’s Halloween event, players can expect a huge number of themed cosmetic items to be made available. Get ready to earn some new skins, sprays, profile icons, emotes, and more.

It’s also expected that the “Junkenstein’s Revenge” game mode will make a return. This co-op event tasks four players with working together to overcome waves of enemies. Horde mode in Overwatch sounds like a great thing!

You can see a tease at two skins, one for McCree and one for Reaper, in the tweet above. We’re sure to learn of more skins and other goodies leading up to the event.

Will you be taking part in the Overwatch Halloween 2017 event?

PSA: PSN Sign in Failed Due to New Terms of Service

If you can’t log in to the PlayStation Network right this moment on your PS4, it’s not due to the new PS4 update that rolled out yesterday, but rather, there’s a new term of service (TOS) that gamers need to agree to before being able to sign in.

This happened to me personally while playing the Star Wars Battlefont II beta. I got an “offline” notice pop up, which I assumed meant PSN was down. Checking again, and trying to sign in, I was prompted with the image you can see above. After manually signing in, it fixed the PSN sign in failed error from appearing again.

It’s currently not known whether this new TOS is applied to the PS Vita and PS3, but if you get prompted that you’re offline on those platforms, best to manually sign in again to see if the new TOS shows up.

Spread the word so other people won’t get confused and assume PSN is down again or something.

UK Retailer GAME Is Selling Star Wars Battlefront II Beta Codes (Update)

Update:

GAME has sent us a statement, which you can read below.

“For a short time this morning a Beta Code was shown on our website through a broken link today priced at 10p. This link has subsequently been fixed. We apologise for any confusion caused. Early access gained through the Beta Code is exclusively available for free for customers that pre-order the game, however we will honour the purchase for those customers that did buy the code only via the broken link.”

No more Star Wars Battlefront II beta codes for sale, then. But you can pre-order to gain access for free.

Original Story:

UK retailer GAME appears to think it’s okay to sell Star Wars Battlefront II beta codes. Taking orders through their official site, GAME is charging 10p (~13 cents) for early access to the hotly-anticipated beta.

Considering early access was supposed to be an exclusive pre-order bonus, it’s unusual to see GAME selling access, and I have to wonder if they have permission to do so.

Here’s a screenshot of the offer:

Head here to purchase one for yourself! (Assuming it’s still live!)

If you do get access, do remember that there are the following daily challenges to complete:

October 4:

Assault Trooper Challenges – Play as an Assault trooper, play as all four trooper classes, and defeat 150 enemies in any mode to earn rewards.

October 5:

Battle Points and Hero Challenges – Use your Battle Points to become a Hero, play as both a Light and Dark Side Hero, and defeat 20 enemies as a Hero to earn rewards.

October 6:

Arcade Challenges – Win Arcade while defeating 30 enemies, complete 3 Arcade scenarios to earn rewards.

October 7:

Galactic Assault Challenges – Play a round of Galactic Assault, defeat 20 enemies while playing as a Reinforcement, and play as, and defeat a tropper, a reinforcement, a hero, and a villain to earn rewards.

If you don’t manage to get an early access code, fear not, for the beta will open up to all players on October 6. It ends on October 9.

Will you be playing in the Star Wars Battlefront II beta?
