Battlefield V Overture Trailer Gives Us a Sneak Peek of the Carnage Coming Tomorrow

In case you didn’t know, DICE is releasing the first chapter of Tides of War — titled Overture — tomorrow free to all gamers who own the game.

To help whet appetites for the free update coming tomorrow, DICE has shot out a preview of what to expect from the title update tomorrow! It’ll include the last chapter of the single-player campaign, a new map, new weapons, and lots more!

In addition to the new content, a ton of game fixes and balancing tweaks are included in the free update tomorrow, and according to DICE, it’ll be 14-pages long! Unfortunately, the bug that causes players to show up on the enemy mini map whenever they get a kill won’t be part of the fixes coming tomorrow, though DICE is aware of it.

Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our Battlefield V readers know ASAP, as well as the patch notes.

Here’s the Fastest Way to Take Down Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Scorestreaks – Here’s the Loadout to Use

In every Call of Duty game, there’s always an instance wherein the enemy gets to call in scorestreak rewards one after another. While you can use the Hellion Salvo rocket launcher to take them down, that will normally take you quite some time since you have to lock-on, wait for your rocket to hit, reload, and repeat. During this time you can or will most likely be killed by either a scorestreak, or someone from the opposing team.

What if we told you there’s another, much easier, way? Don’t believe me? Thanks to Reddit user thunder-r, you can see it for yourself how fast scorestreaks can be taken down in the video below! Watch as a Strike Team scorestreak fail to even reach the ground!

Watch that again! A 14-kill scorestreak reward gets taken down in three seconds repeatedly! How to copy this? Simple! Use the Titan LMG, use attachments FMJ I + FMJ II and that’s it! Throw in extended mags there too for the extra ammo. If you need help spotting choppers, UAVs and such, use the Engineer perk and that should make it a whole lot easier.

Have you tried this yet? What’s your preferred method for taking down scorestreaks? Let us know down in the comments.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead Gets a Cheaper “Starter Edition” and Here’s What’s Included & What’s Not

Just last week, we reported that Overkill’s The Walking Dead video game has performed as expected, and as a result, publisher Starbreeze is now aiming to reduce costs.

If you’re interested in the game, or want to give it a try but you’re balking at the full price, then you’re in luck! Starbreeze has announced the Overkill’s The Walking Dead “Starter Edition” version! It costs $29.99, though there’s a caveat for the reduced price, and it’s due to the second season of the game not being included.

Check out this FAQ from the game’s Steam page:

Q: How much does the Starter Edition cost?
A: It costs $29.99; for regional pricing please see the store page.

Q: What is included with the Starter Edition?
A: The Starter Edition includes the first season of OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, meaning all the content released before, but not including, S02E01, launching today. Of course, you also get access to the ongoing improvements & fixes, regardless of version.

Q: What are the future episodes going to cost for owners of the Starter Edition?
A: That depends on the content of the episodes. Some have more content than others, and prices vary accordingly. The first episode of Season 2, releasing today, is $7.99. If you own the Standard or Deluxe Edition, it’s FREE, as is the rest of the Season 2 content, releasing up until June.

Will this be enough to kickstart the game’s sales? I honestly don’t know, but it’s a good start, right? Anyone getting the Starter Edition to test it out?

Rumor: Mortal Kombat 11 Info Leaked, Set to Be Revealed at The Game Awards

We’re almost done with 2018, but it seems the rumors aren’t done with us yet. With Mortal Kombat X released back in 2015, it looks like the time is ripe for Mortal Kombat 11 (Mortal Kombat XI?)!

In a new post on 4chan (via GearNuke), an apparent Mortal Kombat 11 leak has been posted mentioning that the game will be revealed at next week’s The Game Awards, how it’ll include co-op, and more!

  • Reveal in VGA
  • It will have 4 years of dev cycle (1 year concept 3 year full development) longest to date.
  • Concepting actually even started while making MK X. They were always thought back to back games in terms of story
  • It has proper adventure mode , new version of Shaolin Monks type of gameplay. pretty big deal , you can play and customize your character in this mode, lots of items for customize weapons etc shit too. Also boxes (daily, buyable etc..)
  • Adventure mode is 2 player co-op , online or single. drop in drop out
  • Story mode and adventure are different both are included. story mode is normal NRS game style.
  • Story evolve about 3 main character
  • Punishing raiden ; hes now punishing anyone trying to even dare to attack earthrealm
  • Emperor liu kang and empress kitana ; preparing army and trying to find something of stone left from ages of those deity gods in MK universe(cant remember names elder god or something)
  • Shang Tsung and Reiko they made deal with Kotal Kahn to protect and rule outworld security , reiko has it’s own agenda though gets killed middle of it.
  • Uses UE4 instead of UE3 like all other games of NRS
  • Animation cancel its actually not a.cancel but something of pseudo of it. Much as you can expect from a western company i guess looks infinitely better than MKX in terms of animations. Something similar to UMK.
  • Fujin is playable character
  • Johnny cage,goro,sonya,kano,baraka,mileena,ferratorr %100 not playable

Given the source, take this latest rumor with a big bag of salt. Mind, there’s a very good chance that it will be revealed at The Game Awards, but some of the other info could be suspect.

The wait won’t be long now. If NetherRealm really is announcing Mortal Kombat 11 next week, you can bet your sweet fatalities that we’ll be covering it ASAP.

Rocksteady Studios New Game Confirmed to Not Be Superman, No Announcement Planned at The Game Awards

Just a few days ago, a rumor cropped up that Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the Batman Arkham franchise, was actively working on a Superman game called Superman: World’s Finest, and that the Rocksteady Studios new game was planned for reveal at next week’s The Game Awards.

Well, it seems that’s all been debunked by Rockteady! Over on Twitter, studio head Sefton Hill confirmed that not only is the studio not working on a game based on Superman, but that they don’t have any announcements to make at The Game Awards as well.

Could Rocksteady be working on the rumored Justice League game? We don’t know for sure, but given the studio’s portfolio of excellent games, it’s bound to be something special.

The Game Awards is set for next week on December 8, where game reveals will take place with or without Rocksteady. MP1st will be reporting on any pertinent info from the event, so keep your eyes glued to the site.

Battlefield V Known Issues Listed by DICE, Game Patch Next Week to Be 14 Pages Long

If you noticed a few key issues with Battlefield V, chances are, it’ll be fixed with next week’s game patch that also introduces the first chapter of Tides of War.

In case you want a brief summary of the Battlefield V known issues, check out the list below. DICE Global Community Manager Dan Mitre has outlined those, as well as some of the stuff the studio has planned for fans next week!

This Week’s Highlights

  • TTK/TTD Vision & Clarity – We’ve published an article that dives into our intentions with Time to Kill and Time to Death, and how we are potentially changing these mechanics going forward. This article also provides a glimpse into the upcoming Battlefield V Tides of War Chapter 1: Overture Update.
  • Max Rank Company Coin Accrual Issue – We’ve made progress with the Max Rank Company Coin accrual fix. See below.
  • Airlifts Clarity – There has been confusion around what Airlifts are, how you get them, and what they contain. We’ve lightly detailed the takeaways prior to a full blog that will be published soon in this Twitter post.
  • Battlefield V 11-26-2018 Server Update – A recent server update was released that resolved unlock issues, server join issues, and more.
  • Battlefield V Tides of War Chapter 1: Overture Teasers – We’ve released some teasers providing glimpses into Panzerstorm (new map), the Practice RangeVehicle Visual Customization, and the new War Stories episode: The Last Tiger.
  • Shot with GeForce: Battlefield V Ansel Contest – Partnering with NVIDIA, we bring you a sweet opportunity to win a GeForce RTX graphics card. More details here.

Known Issues – Hot Updates

  • Max Rank Company Coin Accrual Preliminary Fixes
    • <50 Rank Players – We performed a backend update (no client download needed) that has addressed this issue for players who have not hit rank 50 yet. Once they do, they will continue to accrue Company Coin.
    • Max Rank Players – The issue is also resolved. All Max Rank players will start to get their Company Coin at EoR (though, it won’t show up in the EoR UI, another issue we need to address).
    • Retroactive Awarding – No promises here, but we are working on a solution that will award Max Rank players for the Company Coin they should have accrued per hours played at Max Rank.

Watch 25 Minutes of New Anthem Gameplay Showcasing Fort Tarsis and More

Just yesterday, BioWare conducted an Anthem livestream where the studio attempted to showcase new gameplay footage from Fort Tarsis, and a new mission. I say attempted since the livestream was unfortunately riddled with tech issues.

If you weren’t around to watch it, don’t fret. Here’s the archived footage. There’s not a lot of actual action though, but we do get a good look at the stores in Fort Tarsis, and the various NPCs that are loitering the place.

While there’s not a lot of action in the video, the visuals are looking sharp, no?

In other Anthem news, closed alpha sign ups are now live! Go and try to gain access here! We’ve also listed down the known materials that players can use to personalize their javelins.

Hot Take – Bethesda Is Nuking Its Goodwill

Note: The views expressed in this article are solely that of the author’s and does not represent the views of MP1st and its staff as a whole.

A Hot Take is a piece of commentary deliberately written to be provocative and is based on shallow moralizing in response to a recent news story.

Bethesda has for a long time been one of the more favored developers of RPGs in the industry, its legendary franchises The Elder Scrolls and Fallout have been in everyone’s house one way or another. That is, until now.

Bethesda has joined the ranks of EA, Ubisoft, and Activision as a publisher and developer that has nuked its goodwill to the point that it will take years of not screwing up to regain consumer trust. Drastic changes to its Fallout series have foreshadowed a new direction that fans were skeptical of following, and with the release of Fallout 76, Bethesda’s multiplayer take on the Fallout franchise, that skepticism paid off.

Bug after bug has plagued their latest title, and it’s not some games media conspiracy to point it out. There are so many bugs in the game that there are now entire compilation videos on YouTube detailing them. No other developer receives treatment like that. The best part? Bethesda had to have known their title was unreasonably buggy when they launched the game just over two weeks ago. The mindset of ‘release now fix later’ is akin to biting the hand that feeds you; Sacrificing goodwill to meet sales and to get the game out of the door always comes back negatively from those who buy your game. And with the power of the internet, that negative response goes from a small Reddit post to being plastered on the front page of every outlet that covers video games.

To make matters comically worse, Bethesda’s $200 collector’s edition was advertised to come with a canvas carrying bag but instead came with a nylon bag, which, based off of the pictures of it, is much lower quality. Bethesda didn’t even notify those who ordered the edition that the bag shown in the advertisement was only a prototype and that they weren’t actually receiving a canvas bag. Bethesda didn’t even bother to retake photos of their collector’s edition with a nylon bag, let alone inform retailers of this change. Best Buy’s listing for the edition on their website STILL advertises the collector’s edition as coming with a canvas bag.

Bethesda’s response to the justifiable outrage? “We’re sorry,” and here’s $5 of fake money that you can use in the game to buy maybe a door and some stickers. Yup. That’s right. Five whole dollars of in-game money as an apology for falsely advertising to you on a $200 collector’s edition of a game so broken it required a patch larger than the initial download.

The video game industry is full of people who make good video games for people who appreciate and enjoy them. They make an excellent effort to make their buyers and potential buyers feel like they have a voice and that they genuinely matter even when they are nickel and diming you with predatory loot boxes and microtransactions. Bethesda, for a long time, followed that philosophy even through selling you horse armor, until now.

They have, without a doubt, taken what goodwill they had left and nuked it by being cheap and careless. It feels like Bethesda wanted to capitalize on sentiment that all their games are buggy, so it would be okay to release it now and fix it later like they always do. Wait. I’m sorry. That’s actually not true. Bethesda doesn’t even fix their games; they leave it to their die-hard modding community to patch the problems themselves. Why waste company resources when some kid with a gaming PC can do it for free in his bedroom?

It’s time Bethesda takes a hard look at their management and ask themselves if they need new leadership because it’s clear that those at the helm are steering this ship into an iceberg that they can clearly see.

Red Dead Online Tips Listed by Rockstar Games – Character Creation, Treasure Maps & More

In case you didn’t know, the Red Dead Online beta is now live for everyone who owns the game! Now’s your chance to either become a badass outlaw, or be a gunslinger fighting for honor and justice!

To help players in their trek in the Wild West, Rockstar Games has listed a few key Red Dead Online tips that players might want to keep in mind before they lose their head from a revolver. Check out the complete set of Red Dead Online tips and tricks straight from Rockstar’s press release.

·         Character Creation: Use the character creator’s in-depth tools to detail your character’s appearance and facial features. To further adjust a number of facial features, tap X/A to enter the Customize section and use the sliders to fine-tune your character. You can also click R3/Right-Stick to quickly see your character’s face without facial hair, and tap L1/LB and R1/RB to quickly check your character’s profile. While you can always make changes to your character’s hair, facial hair, makeup and dentistry at the local Barber or clothing from your Wardrobe or shops, your permanent features like your nose, eyes, mouth and freckles will not change after you finish creating your character. If you’d like at any point to start anew with a different character, you can delete your current character and create a new one by going to the PLAYER section of the pause menu and holding down Square/X; please keep in mind that this will delete your existing character and progression.

·         Player Menu: Tap d-pad left to bring up the Player Menu. From here you can find many practical tools and features: see other players in the session and your friends, form or join a Posse, manage your Camp and horses, quickly join matches or series, adjust your voice chat options – select Everyone to chat with everyone in your proximity, or isolate your chat to your Posse, Friends or Crew only – and much more.

·         Fast Travel: Visit Fast Travel signposts to quickly travel to where your Posse or friends are located and various other locations around the map, or return to your camp for a flat fee.

·         A Land of Opportunities: Visit Horley in Blackwater to start A Land of Opportunities, a cooperative series of story-based missions that can push your honor high or low based on your decisions. You’ll get to know some new characters in Red Dead Online, fight alongside fellow outlaws and earn a pretty penny along the way. If you made all positive honor decisions throughout and want to see how the storyline changes and push your honor in the other direction, you can replay making all negative honor decisions (and vice versa), all while receiving further payout and experience.

·         Treasure Maps: When you hit Rank 10 you’ll receive a Treasure Map, uncover the treasure for Gold and Cash. You’ll receive Treasure Maps for every 5 ranks after that. There’s also a chance you’ll uncover a Treasure Map when looting enemy bodies after clearing a Hideout or surviving an Ambush.

·         Catalogue: Hold down left on the d-pad to bring up the Catalogue and pick up provisions, tonics, weapons, ammo and more while on the go. Alternatively, when not in-game, purchases can be made via the web Catalogue on Social Club. Once purchased, you can recover most of your goods from your Camp’s lockbox or the Post Office, new weapons can be found on your horse and clothing will be added to your Wardrobe. Any horses or saddles will go to the Stable.

·         Ability Cards: Utilize different Ability Card categories (combat, recovery and defense) to help you survive the frontier. You can upgrade Ability Cards through 3 tiers of benefits and you can adjust them at any time to suit any scenario: use combat cards for attacking missions where you’ll rely on your weapons, or switch to defensive cards when escorting a wagon.

BioWare Is Teasing a New Dragon Age Game Announcement for Next Month

While BioWare is still toiling away at Anthem to make its expected February release date, it seems the studio has other stuff brewing aside from it. In a new studio update, BioWare talks about Anthem, the Mass Effect franchise, and even hinted at a new Dragon Age game!

Here’s the quote:

If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff.  Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy.  Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)

I don’t know about you, but that’s an outright confirmation of something Dragon Age-related, right? Let’s hope that this is a full-fledged Dragon Age game, and not a card game or mobile title.

In case you’re curious, the last proper Dragon Age game released was way back in 2014, which was Dragon Age: Inquisition that saw released on the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. The action-RPG has since gone on hiatus while BioWare worked on Mass Effect Andromeda, and of course, Anthem.

Once we get wind of this new Dragon Age game or announcement, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Battlefield V Upcoming Changes Included in Next Week’s Patch Previewed by DICE, TTK & TTD Addressed

As mentioned previously by DICE, the Battlefield V Tides of War first chapter, titled Overture, will be dropping next week on December 4. Coming along for the ride with the new content are a bunch of new gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes.

If you’re looking forward to what’s going to be changed, DICE has you covered. Global Community Manager Dan Mitre has laid out a huge Battlefield V patch preview that touches on revive mechanics, recoil, and lots more.

  • Revive Mechanics
    • With the update, we are providing improvements that will make the Revive experience better on both ends (for the “reviver” and receiving “revive”). We identified a few delays that prevented players to get full control after the animation was completed – this is now resolved and will virtually make the reviving experience “faster”. We want to see if what we are addressing improves the quality of the experience enough. Increasing the revive speed is something we still keep in mind but aren’t implementing just yet.
  • Medic Class Balance
    • We will be introducing some weapon balance changes that will help most of the Medic weapons to perform better at-range, more specifically for the slower rate of fire SMGs that struggled to find a good place where they could compete against other weapons like Assault Rifles or Light Machine Guns. All the specific changes can be found in the weapon notes below but here is an outline of the changes we targeted:
      • Increased muzzle velocity and reduced bullet drag to allow more consistent range combat.
      • Increased the 5-hit kill range of SMGs to 30m instead of 25m.
      • Improved sustained fire accuracy of SMGs while aimed and stationary.
  • Weapon Balancing/Changes
    • Damage
      • Decreased M1928A1 maximum damage to 25.1 (previously 30)
      • Increased the 3 hit kill range of the Gewehr 1-5 to 30 meters (previously 25 meters)
      • Increased maximum damage for the Sturmgewehr 1-5 and StG 44 to 25.1 (previously 24)
      • Reduced the range at which the Turner SMLE can kill with one headshot and one body shot to 30 meters (previously 35 meters)
      • Increased the 4 hit kill range of all assault rifles, LMGs, MMGs and SMGs to 10 meters (previously 9 meters) to make close quarter damage more reliable
      • Increased all SMG 5 hit kill range to 30 meters (previously 25 meters)
      • Slightly extended pistol damage drop-off distances
      • Bolt actions no longer deal slightly reduced damage when hitting the lower body or upper arms, this means the minimum damage will never go below 55 damage.
    • Recoil
      • Increased horizontal recoil of the KE7 to 0.45 (previously 0.36)
      • Increased horizontal recoil of the M1907 SF to 0.41 (previously 0.39)
      • Decreased horizontal recoil of the STEN to 0.38 (previously 0.4) and increased the efficacy of the Ported Barrel specialization
    • Specializations
      • Increased the effect of the Slings and Swivels specialization. Switching to your primary weapon is now an additional 50 ms faster for all weapons and firing after sprinting is allowed an additional 16 ms earlier for bolt actions, assault rifles, semi auto rifles and SLRs
      • Changed the specialization for the KE7. Recoil Buffer has been removed. Quick Aim has been added. Specialization tree has been reordered
    • Reload
      • Increased the reload speed of the KE7. Base reload time is now 3.55 s (previously 3.75 s)
      • Increased the reload speed of the MG34 with the double drum magazine. Tactical reload is now 3.7 s (previously 4 s) and empty reload is 5.083 s (previously 5.5 s)
      • Increased the reload speed of the M1907 SF. Tactical reload is now 2.7 s (previously 2.9 s) and empty reload is 3.3 s (previously 3.5 s)
    • Miscellaneous
      • Improved sustained fire accuracy of SMGs while aimed and stationary
      • Decreased sustained fire accuracy of assault rifles while aimed and moving
      • Increased muzzle velocity of all SMGs as follows:
      • MP34: 495 m/s (previously 450 m/s)
      • MP34 (High Velocity Bullets): 560 m/s (previously 520 m/s)
      • STEN: 495 m/s (previously 430 m/s)
      • MP40: 455 m/s (previously 400 m/s)
      • EMP: 420 m/s (previously 380 m/s)
      • MP28: 345 m/s (previously 320 m/s)
      • Suomi KP/-31: 330 m/s (previously 300 m/s)
      • M1928A1: 330 m/s (previously 280 m/s)
      • Decreased drag of SMG bullets from to 0.005 (previously 0.007) for regular bullets and 0.0035 (previously 0.005) for High Velocity Bullets
  • Dragging Downed Teammates
    • You will not see the ability to drag downed teammates with this update. We are still investigating feasibility around this mechanic.
  • Max Rank Company Coin Accrual
    • We have a backend fix we have proposed (server side, so no client update needed). We are still testing to ensure stability and will update everyone once it’s live.
    • We are also working on a way to retroactively award Company Coin for hours played at Max Rank and hope to have an update for you soon that we can share.
  • User Interface
    • Syncing Loadouts Across Factions
      • Although we won’t have improvements implemented for the upcoming update, we are actively working on a solution.
    • ‘Apply All’ to Weapon Skins
      • This is coming in next week’s update!
    • Airlifts
      • What are Airlifts? – Battlefield V Deluxe Edition players and Origin Access Premier subscribers are granted 20 Airlifts, one new Airlift each week (each Airlift containing a single customization item) starting on the day that they receive the Deluxe Edition entitlement (whether through a pre-order, upgrade, or full code redemption method). Upon logging into Battlefield V for the first time, you will notice you have received Shipments in your Armory. Depending on when you received the Deluxe Edition entitlement you may have more than one Shipment waiting for you. In other words, if you received Deluxe Edition entitlement 5 weeks prior to actually playing Battlefield V for the first time you’ll have 5 Shipments waiting for you. At that point, you will have 15 more Shipments to be delivered, once a week for 15 weeks.
      • When do I start getting my Airlifts? – Your 20 Airlifts start deploying, one per week, when your Deluxe Edition entitlement is added to your account. This would be either by completing the purchase of Battlefield V Deluxe Edition, upgrading to Deluxe Edition, or redeeming a Deluxe Edition code.
      • What is in the Airlifts? – We’ll have a detailed rundown on what everyone gets in their Airlifts coming out soon. The 20 Airlifts consist of 2 emblems, 13 weapon part skins, 2 sidearm skins, and 1 uniform set.
      • Please note we are also working on a blog that will dive into Airlifts in much greater detail to clear up recent confusion.
  • Endless EOR (End of Round)
  • Spectator Mode Improvements
    • Two new features added to Spectator Mode including:
      • “Look at Player” Free Camera Option – When enabled, the camera automatically rotates to always be looking at that soldier/vehicle that’s selected in the center player card. You can still move the camera while this is enabled which we do in a couple parts of the video below. It should be useful for players that make cinematics since they can make some unique shots with it. Its’s also useful for broadcasting tournaments since broadcasters won’t need to rotate the camera manually to follow a certain player.
      • “Smooth Rotation” – You can see at the start of the video below. It’s a PC-only addition to get smoother rotation when rotating the camera with the mouse.

Spectator Mode Improvement – \”Look at Player\” Free Camera Option

  • “Camera Sway” – An option to make the free camera or director camera move more like a handheld camera, leading to a cinematic polish if you’re looking for that kind of vibe.

Spectator Mode Improvement – \”Camera Sway\” Option

At the end of the day, our goal is to improve the gameplay experience of Battlefield V with you while providing visibility with our intentions. We hope this article does exactly that. We’re looking forward to seeing you on the Battlefield when the new update rolls out next week!

Note that this is NOT the entire list of gameplay changes included in the patch.

As for the time-to-kill (TTK) and time-to-death (TTD), which has been a hot button topic among the Battlefield community, DICE has confirmed that it’s not touching the TTK, but the TTD is being looked into.

Top TTK/TTD Facts You Should Know

  1. The upcoming Battlefield V Tides of War Chapter 1: Overture Update will not have any changes that impact the current TTK. However, there will be balance tweaks to weapons (see breakdown below).
  2. TTK and TTD are very closely linked. We’re seeing players die too often/too quickly and get frustrated because of it. So, we’re looking at how we can improve the experience for new players and veterans alike. This may lead to a perceived slower TTK.
  3. We’re investigating all elements that play into TTD, from netcode to damage feedback/other components that influence TTD perceptions.
  4. We want to achieve gunplay balance where the experience is healthy, where latency is in a good place in order to improve consistency experience across all platforms including PC and Console.
  5. We want to propose any TTK model changes to you, the community, and involve you in testing experimental changes with the goal of improving experience and create deeper gameplay potential.

Unfortunately, the bug (or gameplay mechanic) wherein you show up on the mini map after every kill won’t be part of the patch next week. However, DICE knows about it and will be tweaking it.

Battlefield V Bug Shows You on the Mini Map Every Time You Get a Kill, DICE Says It Will Be Fixed

Have you been playing Battlefield V? Have you noticed how hard it is to flank compared to past entries in the franchise? If so, it’s not you, but it’s the game. It seems there’s an unintentional (or is it?) bug that causes players to show up on the mini map every time they get a kill!

As you can imagine, the people on the Battlefield V subreddit aren’t happy with this. One of the chief complainants? None other than Battlefield YouTuber JackFrags.

Given JackFrags’ wording, it’s unclear whether this is an intentional game mechanic employed by DICE, or just a bug. Regardless of what it is, it will be changed, thankfully! DICE Core Gameplay Designer Florian Le Bihan acknowledged on Twitter that this will be fixed, and that it was unintentional.

Unfortunately, this won’t be fixed in the next patch set to roll out for Battlefield V. Le Bihan confirmed that the upcoming patch, which will introduce the first chapter of Tides of War, has already been sent to certification.

Regardless if this is a bug or not, it’s definitely something that’s not welcomed by the community — and with good reason. Is this DICE’s way of helping bad players stay on the battlefield longer or to get kills? If you need help and you play on consoles, go check out this settings guide to know what you need to turn off and more.
