Monster Hunter World Decorations Save Scum Exploit Guide

If you’re already at the end-game portion of Monster Hunter World, chances are you’re hard at work grinding to find the ideal Monster Hunter World Decorations to complete your build.

While (almost) every tempered investigation will give you a random feystone upon completion, the chances of getting rarity 7 or rarity 8 Decorations are staggeringly low in the game. It’s so low that people have discovered a way around it called “save scumming.” We’ve known about save scumming for quite some time, but was conflicted whether to “report” on it or post a quick guide since it’s bordering on cheating.

If you’re unfamiliar with it, the short version is: you’re exploiting the PlayStation 4’s online cloud saves to constantly meld Decorations at the Elder Melder’s First Wyverian Ritual. If you’re against that sort of thing, look away. But if you’re really, really desperate to get those Decorations you so want, then read on.

How to Do Monster Hunter World Decorations Save Scum

  • It’s not as easy as it seems, but it’s not hard, either. There’s just a lot of patience needed.
  • First things first: upload your current Monster Hunter World game and/or save your game save data on a USB. Got that? Good. Now we’ll go over it step by step.
  • Upload your Monster Hunter World game save data to the PSN’s online cloud storage or save via USB (or do both)
  • Once done, go to the Elder Melder
  • Do the First Wyverian Ritual Strange Stream (third option, most expensive one)
  • Use any Decorations since you won’t be saving any progress you make here, but melding to see the results
  • Write down the melding results and in what order the feystones appear in sets of three. Say you melded a Dragon Decoration, Vitality Decoration and a Defense Decoration, that’s one “set.” If you don’t see anything you want in the set, do another Strange Stream meld and count the sets and order of the Decorations that show up. Once you’ve managed to spot or meld a Decoration that you want (don’t forget to write everything down!), we’re ready to start exploiting!
  • Upload your previous saved game
  • Count what set the Decoration you want showed up (this is super important), and in what order since the melding is pre-determined and we’ll be targeting the Decoration you want, and in the same order
  • Say your chosen Decoration showed up in the third set, and the second stone (from left to right) that got melded, what you need to do is do a mission to “bypass” the first set. Each mission is tied to a set, and the order and kind the Decorations are melded
  • If the chosen Decoration is in the third set, go do two missions (anything counts, even low rank ones), and after those are completed/done, go to the Elder Melder
  • You’re now going to initiate the First Wyverian Ritual Strange Stream!
  • Check the order of the Decoration you want. If it’s the second one, then just put in enough Decorations to fill it until it reaches the second slot
  • Meld and voila!
  • Repeat as necessary using the same method above

Is it worth it?

You bet your ass it is! However, it is an exploit so Capcom might patch it out at some point. Even if they don’t, you might feel icky for doing it.

If you’ve been melding countless Decorations, and have gotten nothing, then this might be your best hope in getting what you really want/need.

I can’t follow the instructions via text, and want it in video form

Lucky you. YouTuber It Might Be Gaming has uploaded a tutorial that’s kind of long, but it shows the steps needed to do the save scum! Watch it below.

We have more (less exploitative) Monster Hunter World guides which you can check out here! What do you want to see from MP1st in terms of Monster Hunter World guides? Let us know in the comments and we’ll get to it.

Winter Brawl 12 Showcases Dragon Ball FighterZ’s Bright Future in Competitive Play

It’s been a month since Dragon Ball FighterZ has been released, and the pro scene for the Fighting Game Community has been hard at work at the “lab” trying to perfect their craft for one of the biggest fighters set to be released this year. Now, they can show off what they’ve learned so far in the first major tournament of the year for Dragon Ball FighterZ, Winter Brawl 12 that concluded last weekend.

While the top eight of the Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament was full of intense action, no other set in the tournament showed off the capability of said game quite like the grand final. It was filled with high-level play, big combos and even bigger comebacks; the finals between ChrisG and SonicFox showcased that this game is definitely here to stay.

Not only as a replacement to Capcom’s Marvel vs games, but as well as a game with longevity that will steal the spotlight from games such as Mortal Kombat/Injustice, Street FighterGuilty Gear and many more.

With that said, you can check out the intense grand final set from Winter Brawl below:

https://youtu.be/eVqgLW3gBA0

For more Dragon Ball FighterZ news, feel free to check out our coverage of the latest patch that went live.

Heathstone Year of the Raven Details Revealed

2018 is the Hearthstone Year of the Raven, which means new expansions, in-game tournaments, heroes, and more.

Here’s what to expect from the Year of the Raven, direct from Blizzard:

WHAT’S A HEARTHSTONE YEAR?

  • Each Hearthstone Year ushers in a fresh Standard format: we’ll introduce an updated card set rotation that will drastically change the meta, leading to more exploration and variety in deck types.
  • As the first expansion of 2018 launches, we will transition into the Year of the Raven, and the following card sets will become exclusive to Wild: Whispers of the Old GodsOne Night in Karazhan, and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.
  • Once we’ve entered the Year of the Raven, all sets that are exclusive to Wild can still be bought from the online shop, including Adventures.

HEARTHSTONE’S NEW DRUID HERO – LUNARA

  • The feisty dryad Lunara, first daughter of Cenarius, has protected the forests of Azeroth for millennia. Soon, she will embark on her next journey as a new druid Hero in Hearthstone! Players who win 10 games in the updated Standard format will earn Lunara!
  • In Hearthstone, players can choose to represent themselves with one of many Heroes from the Warcraft universe. Each Hero and has their own attitude and flavor, and voiced emotes.

SETTLE THE SCORE WITH IN-GAME TOURNAMENTS

  • This feature will help players run a Hearthstone tournament from their own home or Fireside Gathering.
  • Players will be able to create a custom tournament and invite friends-all from within the Hearthstone game client.
  • Will begin with handling matchmaking and checking decks, but we’ll continue to add new features and functionality over time.
  • We’re planning to launch in-game tournaments as a beta around the middle of this year, but that will just be the beginning as we expand on this early version of the feature.

EXPERIENCE THREE NEW EXPANSIONS

The Year of the Raven will include three exhilarating expansions, each with over 130 cards and single-player content!

2018 HEARTHSTONE CHAMPIONSHIP TOUR

  • The premier Hearthstone tournament now boasts its largest prize pool yet, and we’re traveling to more countries than ever before with HCT Tour Stops. Season One is already coming to a close with two final Tour Stops: March 9–11 at EGLX 2018 in Toronto, and March 16–18 at HCT Bangkok. Read more about HCT 2018 on our blog.

HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES

  • The Hall of Fame is a distinction we give to certain Basic and Classic cards that move out of the Standard format and into Wild, encouraging new strategies to play with and against in Standard.
  • This year, we’ll add the following cards to the Hall of Fame:
  • Ice Block: This Mage secret is a powerful card, and was the centerpiece of Standard decks for many years. Now it’s time to make more room for new Mage decks in Standard.
  • Coldlight Oracle: Coldlight Oracle is becoming exclusive to Wild for several reasons: It offers unusually strong neutral card draw which can be detrimental to class identity, its “downside” can destroy opponent’s cards and prevent opponents from playing the deck they built—which in turn limits some designs related to Battlecry and effects that return a minion to hand. Taken individually, any one of these reasons might not be enough to prompt a promotion to the Hall of Fame, but when viewed as a whole, we feel that it’s time for Coldlight Oracle to leave Standard play.
  • Molten Giant: Moving Molten Giant to the Hall of Fame and reverting it to its original mana cost will allow players to experiment with decks featuring Molten Giants in the Wild format.
  • Players can keep their Hall of Fame cards and we’ll give them the full dust value for each one (up to the maximum number you could put in a deck) as if they were disenchanted.

Overwatch 2.34 Update Brings Big Changes to Doomfist, Mei and Sombra

The new Overwatch 2.34 update patch notes have been revealed. They detail big balance changes that affect Doomfist, Mei, and Sombra. All players should note the tweaks, as they’ll no doubt cause a shift in the meta, and the strategies used against them.

Overwatch 2.34 Update Patch Notes

HERO UPDATES

  • Doomfist

Hand Cannon

Ammo recovery rate increased from 0.8 seconds to 0.65 seconds per bullet
Developer Comments: This change will help Doomfist more consistently be able to use his weapon as part of his combos.

  • Mei

Endothermic Blaster

Freeze (slow) duration increased from 1 second to 1.5 seconds

Weapon alternate fire ammo cost reduced from 25 to 20

Developer Comment: Increasing Mei’s slow duration helps her freeze targets that are particularly elusive such as Genji or Lúcio. Lowering her alternate fire ammo cost allows her to more safely use it without costing her the ability to freeze enemies.

  • Sombra

EMP

No longer blocked by small objects (e.g. sign posts)

Hack

No longer gains ultimate charge from health pack healing

Cast time reduced from 0.8 seconds to 0.65 seconds

Now disables the following abilities:

Genji—Cyber-agility

Hanzo—Wall Climb

Pharah—Hover Jets

Lúcio—Healing Boost and Speed Boost (turns off current song entirely), Wall Ride

Mercy—Angelic Descent

Machine Pistol

Machine Pistol spread reduced from 3 to 2.7

Opportunist

Enemy health bars are now visible when health drops below 100% (formerly 50%)

Her ability to detect enemies through walls at 50% or less remains unchanged

Translocator

Duration increased from 15 seconds to 20 seconds

Developer Comment: The goal of these changes for Sombra is to remove the necessity for her teammates to take damage and heal themselves with her hacked heath packs to try to get her ultimate charged up quickly. Her ultimate will now come up less often, but there are more abilities that are disabled by Hack so it is more effective when used. Previously, Opportunist would only activate when an enemy’s health bar dipped below 50% but now the passive will reveal all damaged enemies which should help Sombra identify targets in her line of sight to pick off. Overall these changes should make her more effective and less reliant on her ultimate.

MAP UPDATES

  • Blizzard World

Some health pack sizes have been reduced

Some health pack locations have been changed

Additional health packs have been added

Developer Comments: Health packs are a valuable resource in Overwatch and positioning around them is key to holding ground on defense or keeping up momentum on offense. We have moved the location of some health packs and included additional ones to improve game play on Blizzard World.

USER INTERFACE UPDATES

  • Mercy

Valkyrie

No longer shows enemies’ health bars unless they have taken damage
Developer Comment: This helps remove some clutter from Mercy players’ screens when they use her ultimate

BUG FIXES

  • General

Fixed a bug that prevented Capture the Flag statistics from displaying on the Career Profile if the match was played on Ayuttheya in the Arcade
Maps

Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented announcement voice lines from triggering on Blizzard World

In other Overwatch news, take a look at the first and second new Overwatch hero clues, which were (intentionally) revealed by Blizzard last week.

With a total length of 3,350m, it features a a shortcut through the infield from just before Turn 1 to the back straight. From the back straight it reenters the infield, and after a tight hairpin corner, returns to the oval just before its Turn 3. A reverse layout is also provided.

Monster Hunter World Horizon Zero Dawn Content Crossover for Aloy Now Live – How to Unlock Everything & What It Looks Like

While we already posted on Monster Hunter World crossing over once again with Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn by letting players gear up as Horizon’s protagonist, Aloy, we’ve now gone in depth with a quick guide on what to do now that the quest is live!

Yes, you read that right! The Monster Hunter World Horizon Zero Dawn content for the Aloy armor and bow is now live! Players will be able to farm for the quest until March 15, 23:59 UTC (March 14, 6:59 p.m. ET).

Where to start?

Go to the quest board or the handler, and go to “Events.” Once there, scroll to the bottom most choice called “The Proving” which should be familiar to Horizon Zero Dawn players.

I’ve screencapped what it looks like above. Note that you will need to be at least HR11 to partake in the quest, and all it involves is taking down an Anjanath, which should be easy-peasy for seasoned hunters.

Once you’ve accepted the mission, just go about it as normal. Slay the Anjanath to get the “Nova Brave Trophy.” You’ll need four of these in order to complete the armor set, so there’s a little bit of grinding to get it. And before anyone asks, yes, the armor set can be equipped by male or female hunters.

I’ve slayed Anjanath, what then?

Once you’ve captured or slain Anjanath via the quest, you’ll need other materials in order to complete it. The full materials needed for the Aloy a armor set are:

  • Nova Brave Trophy (x4)
  • Anjanath Pelt+ (x14)
  • Anjanth Nosebone+ (x6)
  • Anjanath Gem (x1)

Once you’ve completed all the materials needed, head on over to the Smithy, and go the the “Forge Equipment” list, then to the “Full Armor Sets” category to see if you can craft it.

So, is it worth all the hassle of grinding for Anjanath (particularly the gem)? Check out what it looks like below and judge for yourself.

Should I play using the Aloy a armor set? Does it have its own skills?

For better or for worse, the Aloy a armor set isn’t just a skin but it has its own abilities per armor piece. We’ve outlined what each armor piece does.

Aloy head a: Affinity Sliding level 1 – Sliding increases your affinity for a short time (30% increase for level 1)

Aloy body a: Marathon Runner  level 2 – Slows down stamina depletion for actions which continuously drain stamina (such as dashing). Level 2 reduces continuous stamina depletion by 30%

Aloy arms a: Weakness Exploit level 1 – Attacks that hit weak spots have 15% increased affinity, Scenthound level 1 – Increase your scoutflies’ gauge fill rate when you find tracks and other traces left by monsters (increases by 50 percent)

Aloy a Torso: Stealth level 2 – Makes it easier for monsters to lose sight of you (makes it moderately easier for monsters to lose sight of you)

Aloy a Leggings: Slinger Capacity level 2 – Increases the loading capacity for slinger ammo obtained in the field (In addition, increases the loading capacity for some slinger ammo dropped by monsters)

In addition to these armor skills, there’s also set bonuses for equipping two or four pieces.

Two pieces equipped: Anjanath’s Will Adrenaline- Temporarily reduces stamina depletion when health is at 40% or lower

Four pieces equipped: Anjanath’s Will Stamina Cap – Increases stamina cap

Is there a Horizon Zero Dawn weapon?

Yes, yes there is! There’s also an Aloy weapon, and to no one’s surprise, it’s a bow! Here’s what you need to farm in order to craft it at the Smithy:

  • Nova Brave Trophy (x2)
  • Anjanath Fang+ (x3)
  • Monster Kneebone (x5)
  • Anjanath Plate (x1)

The weapon which is officially called “Aloy’s Bow” is a rarity 5 weapon (base attack damage of 168), and has a hidden”thunder” element innate to it. It has one level 3 socket for Decorations, has an affinity of 20%, and can be coated with paralysis and poison. It can be upgraded to “Aloy’s War Bow” which is a rarity 6 weapon, and once upgraded, the affinity increases to 30%, and its base attack will be at 192, and can be tweaked with three Augmentation slots.

Items needed to upgrade the standard Aloy’s Bow to Aloy’s War Bow includes:

  • Nora Brave Trophy (x3)
  • Anjanath Scale+ (x7)
  • Elder Dragon Bone (x3)
  • Wyvern Gem (x1)

Check out what it looks below equipped by my awesome character.

It definitely looks snazzy, I’ll give it that. Well, there you have it! This event and the content is (understandably) exclusive to PS4 players only. Verdict so far is, the bow seems to have the potential to be something viable for end-game players given its high affinity (30% after upgrading). Mix in another level 3 Deco slot, attack boosts, and it could be something special. As for the armor, it’s something you can fool around in, but not viable for end-game lest you want to become fodder to tempered Elder Dragons.

Capcom has also mentioned that if you missed the Watcher-themed Palico gear, you can nab it again as the Event quests are on a “rotating schedule.”

Speaking of bows, go check out our Monster Hunter World end-game bow guide below, along with the other guides we have.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater Remasters Up to Activision, Even If Tony Hawk Wants ‘Em

Remember the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise? Yeah, the one that introduced skateboarding to gamers and was a hit initially? If you ever wanted a Tony Hawk Pro Skater remaster or something, just know that the man himself, Tony Hawk, wants it too, but it’s all up to Activision.

Over on Twitter, Tony Hawk posted a tweet that explained why we aren’t seeing anything like that from him, and it’s due simply to Activision owning the rights.

It’s as simple as that: Activision owns the licenses, and thus it falls upon them whether we see a new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game or not. That said, the last Pro Skater game was Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 released in 2015. If you don’t remember it, I don’t blame you — it was universally panned.

Should Activision release a Tony Hawk Pro Skater remaster compilation or should the publisher give the rights back to Tony Hawk and the skating legend can do it on his own?

Fortnite Double Pump Returns: How to Double Pump in Fortnite

It’s going to take more than a measly Fortnite 3.0.0 update to kill the double pump, it seems! Yes, the Fortnite double pump has returned with a vengeance, allowing players to grab two shotguns and switch between them in rapid succession.

Here’s how to double pump in Fortnite:

  1. Shoot with your first pump shotgun
  2. Swap to your second pump shotgun and wait for the ‘pump’ sound that signals the cooldown has ended
  3. Shoot with your second pump shotgun
  4. Swap to your first pump shotgun and repeat

For a visual aid, we’d recommend checking out this video by TSM Daequan, who provides a good demonstration the Fortnite double pump 3.0.

Are you happy to see the Fortnite double pump return? Or should it have stayed dead? Let us know.

Fortnite Game Modes Guide: Fortnite Solid Gold Mode Explained

A new Fortnite Limited Time Mode has launched, with players now able to access and play the Solid Gold mode. “What is the Fortnite Solid Gold mode?” I hear you ask. Well, let me break it down for you, recommend some good weapons, and then tell you when the fun is likely to end.

Fortnite Solid Gold Mode: What Is It?

The Fortnite Solid Gold mode is the normal battle royale experience, only with every drop being the Legendary variant. Yep, that’s right, there’s no room for anything but Legendary weapons in the Fortnite Solid Gold mode, so prepare to be showered in yellow drops, and watch out for enemies wielding them, too!

Fortnite Solid Gold Mode: Best Weapons

As for which Fortnite Solid Gold mode weapons are the best, you’ll definitely want to make sure you look out for sniper rifles, which come in both the semi-auto and bolt-action flavors. Then there’s the new hand cannon, which packs one hell of a punch. Stealthy players will want to pick up the suppressed pistol, and those wanting to “go loud” can do so with the minigun and rocket launcher.

Fortnite Solid Gold Mode: When Does It End?

Epic Games hasn’t yet announced when the Fortnite Solid Gold mode will come to an end. As it’s a Limited Time Mode, we know that it won’t be featured forever. If it’s anything like previous LTMs, we’d expect it to be available for a week or so.

Brigitte Overwatch Hero Confirmed by Japanese Twitter Account

With rumors swirling about the new Overwatch hero, many fans have their theories about which character will join the roster as the 27th playable persona. Well, we can forget all about those rumors, as it looks like Brigitte Lindholm will indeed be the new hero.

The Overwatch Japanese Twitter account accidentally tweeted the file location path instead of an actual image. This let fans see the name of the image file, which was “Brigitte Tease.”

Reddit user Fogmoon managed to snap a screenshot of the accidental tweet, shortly before it was removed:

Brigitte Overwatch Hero

This certainly looks like a mistake, although it could very well be a genius marketing move.

The tweet was rapidly deleted, and with a rectified post with image taking its place:

So, it’s essentially confirmed that the Brigitte Overwatch hero theory was correct. Are you happy with that news? Or were you hoping for a different character? Let us know.

Take a look at the first and second new Overwatch hero clues, which were (intentionally) revealed by Blizzard last week.

Ubisoft: Rainbow Six Siege Campaign “Can Never Exist”

With Rainbow Six Siege getting the “Outbreak” co-op event early next month, some might be wondering if this paves the way for Ubisoft to roll out a full-fledged single-player campaign for Rainbow Six Siege.

For those hoping for that, it ain’t happening. In an interview, Creative Director Xavier Marquis was asked about the possibility of a Rainbow Six Siege campaign, and it immediately got shut down.

Another part of Chimera is the Outbreak event. We’ve seen lots of CGI trailers and an emerging story, so is there any hope for the future in terms of seeing a Rainbow Six Siege campaign?

No, no real singular campaign – it can never exist in the game because that is not its purpose. And also, in terms of effort, we want to focus mainly on multiplayer. But the [game’s] universe is something we want to explore by different means – we are [thinking] about videos and maybe comics, etc. We’re not planning anything right now, but we’re thinking in this way because it fits perfectly with the fact that we want to secure [the multiplayer] as much as possible. It is getting extremely serious in terms of pros, the investment, and the [demand] from our players.

Consider any hope of it dashed, then! Even without a campaign, Rainbow Six Siege is rolling along quite nicely in its third year out; so much so that Ubisoft isn’t even considering a sequel for it.

In case you didn’t know, Siege will also be getting into the loot boxes bandwagon, but Ubisoft doesn’t want you to worry since it will never affect gameplay, they said.

Monster Hunter World Will Crash If You Have More Than 200 Decorations

Monster Hunter World Decorations bug confirmed.

With games like Monster Hunter World, part of the game’s appeal is collecting gear to use in different situations. However, don’t go mad collecting just yet! It seems there’s a game-crashing bug that gets triggered when there are more than 200 Decorations in your inventory!

This was announced by the Capcom Asia Facebook page where it posted the following message:

Going by Google translate, it says:

It has been confirmed that the types of decorations held in the box boxes and ornaments that have been included in weapons-resistant materials are available, and that there is an opportunity to terminate the game in the total number of more than 200

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. This will be followed by a future update, which will be followed by the following approach.

As it does not affect the game record, if this happens, please sell the non-used ornaments that are not used, or use the mysterious to consume non-Used Ornaments, so as to reduce their species.

The official Asia Monster Hunter World Twitter also chimed in, and reiterated the bug’s existence.

Notice: When the total number of ornaments attached to the type of decoration and weapon armor in the item box exceeds 200, the game has been confirmed as a failure to kill. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers. The bug will be fixed in the future title update.

Thankfully, Capcom has already confirmed this will be patched, and given how on the ball the publisher is in terms of rolling out updates, this should be sorted sooner rather than later. If you don’t know what Decorations are, read up on our quick guide to learn the ins and outs.

Just be careful stocking up on Decorations. Worse case scenario, just meld ’em at the Elder Melder for a chance to get some sweet tier-3 ones.
