Smite Future Update “Rally to Rome” Patch Takes Aim at Current Meta

As the Smite World Championship quickly approaches, which happens to be the biggest tournament of the year for the free-to-play MOBA. Hi-Rez Studios has been shifting their focus from adding new content to making the game be smooth as possible come January.

This starts with the upcoming Rally to Rome patch that is set to take aim at the triple tank and two hunter meta that was prevalent in the Super Regional Lan. Alongside addressing the meta in the game, Hi-Rez Studios is also introducing new quality of life changes for both items and gods.

You can check out all the details of the patch below:

  • Reduced Physical Protection from 35 to 30

Susano

  • Wind Siphon
    • Increased Base Damage from 60/75/90/105/120 to 80/105/130/155/180.

Now no patch would be complete without a handful of new cosmetic being introduced. Here’s what you can expect for new skins once this patch goes live next week:

This patch is set to be released sometime next week, and will be the second to last patch before the big January tournament. So expect minimal changes once the next patch is revealed as Hi-Rez Studios doesn’t want to change the game too much.

Additionally, if everything goes smoothly with this patch, console players can expect it to arrive a week after the PC receives the update.

Major Card Changes Introduced in Paladins Upcoming Patch

Big changes are coming to Paladins with the recently announced OB 64 patch that was showcased that will completely change the way the game is played.

What changes are these you may be asking? Hi-Rez Studios is doing away with the Essence system and making every card free. Yes, free. Not only will every card be free, but every champion’s legendary card will also be free and a fourth legendary card will also be introduced for every champion.

You can catch the details of this major change below:

  • Essence is gone.
  • Paladins is even more free to play. All Cards (Basic and Legendary) are now free and immediately unlocked, and can be levelled up by collecting duplicates.
  • In the new over-the-top Quick Play mode (replacing Casual queue), you can play exactly how you want to play. Just build a loadout of your five favorite Cards — no point limit restrictions.
  • Ranked Mode is now more balanced and competitive than ever before, with all Cards unlocked and set to Level 3. ”(edited)
  • Essence has been removed from the game. Players with Essence will have the currency converted to Gold at a 1-to-1 ratio. And all previous Essence rewards have been changed.
  • Level 1 of all Cards (Basic and Legendary) for all Champions are now free and immediately unlocked
  • A new Legendary has been added for each Champion. Like all other cards, all players will be granted these new Legendary Cards at Level 1 for free.
  • Cards and Legendaries can now be upgraded from Level 1 to 5 by collecting duplicate cards.
    • Cards and Legendaries come from the Radiant Chest and a new Champion Chest, which will drop champion-specific Cards and champion-specific Legendaries.
  • Cards will auto-upgrade when the requisite number have been collected. There is no currency required to upgrade cards.
  • Champion Chests are unlocked free via Champion Mastery and for first wins of the day with a Champion.
  • Players who have already unlocked Cards (Basic and Legendaries) will receive those Cards at Level 3.(edited)
  • All Champions now have 3 default loadouts to accommodate different playstyles. Custom loadouts can still be created.
  • Quick Play Queue is new mode replacing Casual Queue. In this Queue the player can build a deck with no point-limit using the Cards he or she has acquired. Up to 5 Level 5 cards can be used in a loadout.
  • In Ranked, all player loadouts will have Cards and Legendary automatically set to Level 3. If your loadout contains cards higher than 3 they will be set to 3 in Ranked. If your loadout contains cards lower than 3 they will be set to 3 in Ranked.

Aside from this major overhaul to the card system, Hi-Rez Studios is also set to make the following changes:

December Update Details
There are four key areas we’re targeting for improvements in December. Some of these updates will arrive with the December 5 update, and some additional updates will be included in a patch that will be deployed the following week on December 12.

DICE Has a “Fix Incoming” for the Star Wars Battlefront II AFK Farming Issue

For those playing Star Wars Battlefront II’s multiplayer, chances are you’ve had a complaint or two on how random the end of match credits dole out is. While DICE has said it’s based on performance, the way it’s handled is so random that some people have resorted to creating a homemade credit-farming bot.

Unfortunately, this meant that a lot of gamers went AFK (away from keyboard) and left their in-game character take up valuable team space just to get credits at the end of each match. Naturally, this wrecked team balance, and just the overall fun of a match. I mean, who wants to go up against the First Order undermanned, right? Thankfully, DICE has heard our complaints and a fix is incoming — at least according to a forum moderator.

Over on the official EA forums for Battlefront II, a mod by the name of “Striterax” states, “We have a fix incoming for this,” pertaining to people grinding credits by going AFK. Here’s a screenshot in case it gets deleted, eaten by Wookies or whatnot.

That’s not the only Star Wars Battlefront II issue DICE has acknowledge. Just a few days ago, DICE has mentioned they are “investigating” the lag issues troubling the game right now. Hopefully, the AFK farming issues, and the lag problems are all sorted out when the game gets another title update or server-side hotfix.

For gameplay-related concerns, check out our list of top things we want fixed in Battlefront II multiplayer ASAP.

Star Citizen Alpha Update 3.0.0ac Hits PTU With More Ships to Test

Star Citizen‘s lastest update, 3.0.0ac, adds new ships to the PTU server to test out, as well as a new command that allows you to find your location coordinates, and more.

For the list of Star Citizen patch notes, see below:

– Focus: (UPDATED) New patcher, station traversing, ship spawning, StarMap app, quantum travel, landing, air traffic control (ATC) system, quantum fuel usage/balance, hydrogen fuel usage/balance, afterburner, shopping, ship MFDs, missions, core combat (mission related).

– (UPDATED) All the ships are flyable, but the following are the ships that have had the most attention and focus: Gladius, Hornet Series, Sabre, Vanguard, Constellation Series, Cutlass Black, Caterpillar, Nox, Dragonfly, Prospector, Freelancer, Aurora series, Argo series, Buccaneer, Greycat, Starfarer series, Khartu-AL, Avenger series, Gladiator, Mustang series, Herald, Merlin, 300 series, Ursa.

– We would like you to focus on the above for this wave of testing and bug reports.

– NOTE: Other content and features are in and listed in the notes, but currently not the focus of this testing phase as they undergo bug fixes and polish. Additionally, there’s content that is not listed in the notes that are intended for live release and will be added iteratively during the testing cycle.

Key Game-play How Tos:

Afterburner:

There is now a single afterburner with the ability to achieve higher top velocity under certain conditions, giving us AB SCM and AB Cruise with the only distinction being two different speeds. You can only enter AB Cruise if your flight path is a straight, forward line. Otherwise you’re limited to AB SCM, i.e. while maneuvering/strafing. Once in AB Cruise you can release the afterburner key and go into an AB idle mode to maintain your current speed. Throttle setting and y-axis strafe level allows incremental speeds, but you will decelerate if you change your vector. If you continue to hold AB and maneuver, you drop to AB SCM speed until you return to straight-line flight. AB Idle holds your current velocity as long as you’re not maneuvering and decoupled rotation is allowed while in AB idle.

Show Location

– We have added a command that allows you to find your location in coordinates (useful for bug reporting purposes). Enter “/showlocation” in the chat box (make sure you are in a all chat) to get coordinates.

Ship Start Up:

– Approach the entry point of your ship, then press and hold “F” to activate the interaction system. Select from the various inner thought prompts using the cursor or mouse wheel to move between them. Once inside your ship, again press and hold “F” and select the “Flight Ready” prompt to run through complete ship start up. Alternatively, you can press the “F5” key for quick start up.

Landing:

– Landing now takes place through an Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. When close to a landing location, request a landing by navigating to your “Comms” menu on the MobiGlas (note: this is incorrectly displayed as a ship icon) and pushing the hail button (wifi symbol). Wait a moment, and ATC should assign you a landing location. Note, you may need to request take off to leave Levski (trigger opening of bay doors).

Quantum Travel:

– To quantum travel to a destination, open your MobiGlas (F1) and select the StarMap App (diamond shaped symbol). From there, use the mouse to select a destination. Whether or not an object can be selected for QT is determined by gravitational values (The larger the object the further away you can detect it, large objects with small objects in orbit drown out their detection capabilities at long ranges). Meaning you will not be able to travel from point A to B at all times, but instead may need to move into orbit of a larger body to detect destinations also in orbit. For example, to get to a station orbiting a moon that orbits a planet, the route is Planet>Moon>Station. Once you have a destination selected you can “set destination” on your MobiGlas to bring up a quantum travel target. As before, align with the QT target and press “B” to travel.

Major Known Issues:

– Items and ships placed in hangars are not persisting between sessions.

What do you think of the latest patch notes for Star Citizen? Let us know below.

PSA: Call of Duty: WWII Division Prestige Bugged After Latest Patch, Can Cause Game to Freeze

Following the Call of Duty: WWII Headquarters bug that got introduced after today’s patch, it seems there’s another bug loitering around the game and spoiling the fun for players. This one is connected to Division Prestige, and even has the capacity to freeze the entire game!

Multiple users on Reddit have chimed in and mentioned the same thing: Prestiging a Division doesn’t work (at least on PlayStation 4), and if you tried clicking R2 to initiate the Supply Drops, the entire game freeze, which necessitates a hard restart.

For the sake of clarity, I did not do or attempt this glitch. Yes, I’m a chicken. There’s no known fix yet, but once we found one out, we’ll be sure to let people know. In the meantime, don’t forget to NOT Prestige your Division, alright? Better safe than sorry.

PSA: Latest Call of Duty: WWII Update Makes HQ Stutter, Here’s a Quick Fix

Less than an hour ago, a title update for Call of Duty: WWII was rolled out by Sledgehammer Games. While we’re waiting for the official patch notes, some changes are plainly obvious; such as Headquarters mode now being optional, and having its own slot in the menus.

Unfortunately, there’s a drawback to this little feature; multiple users (and I’ve experienced it first-hand as well) have reported massive stuttering when entering Headquarters mode. If you’re experiencing the same, don’t fret! There’s a super quick fix! Reddit user CarterIsDad managed to find a workaround and it involves Theater mode!

PSA: How to Fix Low Frame Rate in Headquarters from WWII

If you can’t see the Reddit post, it reads:

Go to Theater, watch any video in theater, leave the theater, and frame rate should stabilize.

Note that you do NOT need to finish the video at all, and it should work. I’ve tested it, and it brings HQ frame-rates back to normal levels.

We’ll check COD: WWII more to see what else has changed, or what new bugs have been accidentally introduced. In the meantime, if you spot any, let us know down in the comments so your fellow soldiers can know, and knowing is half the battle.

Original Story:

As mentioned by Sledgehammer Games last week, a new title update for Call of Duty: WWII has been rolled out on consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) as scheduled! Clocking in at 388MB on PS4, the update will bring in fixes to a certain map exploit, BAR nerfs, and adjustments to gun flinch! We’re hoping the update will also fix some of the issues Sledgehammer Games has acknowledged so far. We’ll get the patch notes out once it’s available.

Just this week, we posted a gameplay look at  some of the new guns headed to COD: WWII! You can watch it in the video below where it also shows a few of the new game modes coming to the shooter. Or check out how they look like in our gallery post. For the tweaks and updates, check out the complete patch notes below.

In other COD: WWII news, Sledgehammer Games boss Michael Condrey has said that COD: WWII has a “franchise-setting” low rate of bad spawns, and also shared why points per kill in Domination are at 50 instead of 100.  Finally, we also published an article listing down the multiplayer changes we want to see fixed ASAP.

For me personally, I hope the patch fixes the matchmaking issues that’s been plaguing the game (for me at least) since launch.  What do you want to see fixed in COD: WWII next? If you notice something that’s not in the patch notes (good or bad), feel free to leave a comment telling us why, and if it’s news-worthy, send us a tip at (tips at MP1st.com) and if we publish it, we’ll credit you.

HDMI 2.1 Final Specs Confirmed: 10K Resolution Support, “Enhanced Refresh Rate Features” & More

Not every HDMI cable is created equal. Different versions do different things. You may have learned this while trying to set up a new PlayStation 4 Pro or Xbox One X… Well, now a new HDMI spec has been finalized, boasting features like 10K resolution support, “enhanced refresh rate features” and more.

We’ll be waiting a little while before we start seeing HDMI 2.1 supported by TVs and other devices, but that shouldn’t stop us from taking a look at the upcoming features:

Higher video resolutions support a range of high resolutions and faster refresh rates including 8K60Hz and 4K120Hz for immersive viewing and smooth fast-action detail. Resolutions up to 10K are also supported for commercial AV, and industrial and specialty usages.

Dynamic HDR support ensures every moment of a video is displayed at its ideal values for depth, detail, brightness, contrast and wider color gamuts—on a scene-by-scene or even a frame-byframe basis.

The Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable supports the 48G bandwidth for uncompressed HDMI 2.1 feature support. The cable also features very low EMI emission and is backwards compatible with earlier versions of the HDMI Specification and can be used with existing HDMI devices.

eARC simplifies connectivity, provides greater ease of use, and supports the most advanced audio formats and highest audio quality. It ensures full compatibility between audio devices and upcoming HDMI 2.1 products.

Enhanced refresh rate features ensure an added level of smooth and seamless motion and transitions for gaming, movies and video. They include:

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) reduces or eliminates lag, stutter and frame tearing for more fluid and better detailed gameplay.

Quick Media Switching (QMS) for movies and video eliminates the delay that can result in blank screens before content is displayed.

Quick Frame Transport (QFT) reduces latency for smoother no-lag gaming, and real-time interactive virtual reality.

Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) allows the ideal latency setting to automatically be set allowing for smooth, lag-free and uninterrupted viewing and interactivity.

That’s a lot of cool-sounding features! Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) sounds especially awesome for gaming!

In other gaming news, Remedy Entertainment is reportedly working on a new multiplayer title, the PUBG Xbox One install size has been revealed, and Epic Games is suing a 14-year-old due to cheating in Fortnite.
