Monster Hunter World Adds “Hide Headgear” Feature

Ever created a character in a game but can’t their actual face given it’s all covered up by your headpiece? Capcom is fixing that by adding a “hide headgear” option in Monster Hunter World!

This was announced by the official Monster Hunter World Twitter account and translated by SiliconEra

Those not familiar with RPGs, this means that players will be able to choose whether they want their created character to sport a headgear or not, without any stat or skill loss. If your headgear is rocking some serious buffs to your character, then you’d still get that even if you choose to not have the headgear shown in-game.

Chances are, Monster Hunter World players will opt to bypass having their headpieces shown in the game given how robust the character creation tool is.

Monster Hunter World is set for a January 26, 2018 release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with PC players getting it at a later date.

Bungie Cancels Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris Livestream to Address Fan Concerns About the State of the Game

Well, here’s a new one. Bungie was set to do its final Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris livestream tomorrow to show off the expansion before its release next month. That’s not happening now, and instead, the studio will invest “all efforts into delivering some higher priority information” about Destiny 2, and what Bungie’s plan is moving forward.

This was revealed by David “Deej” Dague over on the studio’s official forums (via Kotaku). You can read the message in full below.

Hey, there.

Tomorrow, we had planned to conduct the final stream prior to the launch of “Curse of Osiris” to show off some of the weapons and armor the expansion includes. Instead, we are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2. You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks.

That will appear on the Bungie Blog on Wednesday.

Thank you,

DeeJ

This livestream cancellation comes hot at the heels of the recent discovery that Bungie has been throttling XP gain in Destiny 2; a fact it acknowledged and supposedly remedied. It’s no secret that Destiny 2 players have been in outrage over Bungie’s endgame plans (or lack thereof), and lack of communication on the changes that needs to be made. Let’s hope the latest state of the game update alleviates some of the anger.

What do you want to see from Bungie tomorrow/later when it addresses fans? What can they do to make the endgame more appealing?

Report: Quantum Break Developer Remedy Could Be Working on a New Multiplayer Title

Remedy Entertainment, the Finland-based studio most known for starting the Max Payne franchise and Alan Wake, might be dipping its foot into the multiplayer pool.

While the actual job listing for a “Game Designer (World Systems)” is a little vague, the description hints at what the job entails, and it even mentions Destiny’s Xur, and the genre flavor of the year, battle royale.

Are you constantly thinking about intriguing ways to excite your players and keep them invested in your game’s world? Are you obsessed with lore and a desire to create rich content that communities will devour? Do you design challenge systems that are so moreish your players plan their week around them? Have you already designed the next Battle Royale? Are you always among the first to find Xûr?

Further adding fuel to the multiplayer fire, the “Requirements and qualifications” bit includes, ” Online Innovator – Passion for online play and a hunger to create cutting-edge connected experiences that extend the play experience in rich ways.”

I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a multiplayer game to me.

Latest Total War: Arena Update Fixes “Blobbing” Slinger Issue

Wargaming has released a new patch for Total War Arena which fixes an issue where Slingers could not properly fire, otherwise known as “blobbing”.

For the full list of patch notes, see below:

– Fixed an issue where Slingers would not properly fire when significantly overlapping with each other (otherwise known as “blobbing”;).

– As a result of the recent missile mechanic rework, Slinger units will behave differently. Because Slinger units have a noticeably flat missile trajectory, if they attempt to fire while significantly overlapping with other (or blobbing) Slinger units, they will apply a small amount of friendly fire damage to each other. This is behavior is intended and as designed.

What do you think to the latest Total War Arena patch? Are you glad that the “blobbing” issue has been rectified? Is the fix good enough? Let us know below.

RuneScape Update Reworks the Ribbon System, Adds New Optimizations & More

The latest RuneScape patch is now live, making improvements to the Ribbon system, allowing you to add several windows including: Magic Abilities, Attack Abilities, emotes and more.

For the full list of patch notes, see below:

Ribbon Rework

– A number of improvements have been made to the ribbon:

– The window can now be resized and now adds space between icons.

The following windows can now be added to the ribbon:

– Magic abilities (abilities only)

– Combat Spells

– Teleport Spells

– Skilling Spells

– Attack Abilities

– Strength Abilities

– Defence Abilities

– Constitution Abilities

– Emotes

– Adding future windows to the ribbon now requires significantly less work.

– The following features have been added to the ‘Ribbon Setup’ interface:

– You can now reset your ribbon to the default icons or clear it in one go.

– Icons added to the bar are now removed from the selection area.

– Spacing has been improved for the ‘Ribbon Setup’ interface and the Options Menu. A section for window management has also been added to the latter.

– The spacing on the options menu (escape key) has been improved. A section for managing windows has also been added.

– Of the to windows labelled ‘Magic Abilities’, the main has been renamed ‘Magic Book’ and been given an icon to match.

– Melee and attack abilities now have separate icons (melee uses crossed swords).

– The ‘worn equipment’ icon has been changed to distinguish it from the ‘hero’ icon.

– The drawer icon has been replaced with a settings cog to make room.

– Alongside these changes, we’re also running tests on the tutorial. Half of new players will get the existing tutorial unchanged, while the other half will start with only the settings button on the ribbon, with the inventory, skills and worn equipment windows opened as they’re first seen. These players will also have the default set of buttons activated after the tutorial, where we hope to see players having a less confusing experience and, as a result, fewer players dropping out.

Optimisations

– We’ve been using some new tools to track which scripts are running in the client in certain situations. Using these, we’ve been able to identify unnecessary and/or expensive code, investigating what these scripts are doing and then optimising where we can.

– The benefits should affect everyone, but will be more noticeable on lower-end machines. Changes include:

Bank

– Client-side spoofing tries to predict what will happen and helps make the bank seem more responsive. When spam clicking to withdraw multiple items, this could get out of sync and cause a well-known ‘tab flickering’ bug. Changes have been made to reduce the likelihood of this error occurring.

– The way the icons are built when the bank is loaded has changed. This means items should no longer ‘pop in’ when scrolling through.

– The efficiency of individual scripts has been generally improved.

– Measure have been put in place to stop the interface from repositioning everything when no changes have been made to the inventory.

General improvements

– In historical cases, and especially on first login, window positioning may have occurred several times. This should now only happen once.

– By deleting permanent interface components and only building them when required, almost 1,000 components no longer use memory constantly.

– Several scripts run every client frame, for purposes such as controlling animations. These run in the background even when you’re doing nothing, and we’ve made several changes:

– Overall, we’ve reduced the run-time of these passive scripts by almost 95%.

– Global transparency was using these scripts, and accounted for a large portion of this. We’ve changed the way it’s implemented, but unfortunately it means we can no longer use the current setting, so all transparency will be set to the default of 50% on login.

– Several features such as loading screens now stop running these scripts when turned off.

– Bugs have been fixed which allowed some of these scripts to keep running after they were meant to be finished.

Loading screens

– After detecting that the game is loading, there is now a half-second pause before triggering a loading screen, avoiding unnecessary loading screens such as when going through doors in barrows.

– The loading screen now has a disable button, saving new players from having to locate it in the settings menu.

Skills, D&Ds and Minigames

– Unstable essence has become (slightly!) more stable. For example, it will now show as Runecrafting in the Make-X interface rather than Cooking.

– It is no longer possible to summon pets inside the Dungeoneering grouping areas.

Quests, Challenges and Achievements:

– Completing the One of a Kind quest now shows the correct task complete message.

Other

– Perfect dragon scales (for Vannaka’s Slayer challenge) no longer try and drop on non-member worlds.

– A large number of optimisations have been made to the toplevel interface.

– Various optimisations have been made to the bank interface.

– Members can now remove the Extras icon on the ribbon interface.

What do you think to the latest RuneScape patch? Do you like the idea of adding new windows to the ribbon? Let us know in the comments.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Patch Adds News Flashpoint, Galactic Starfighter Map & More

The latest Star Wars: The Old Republic patch implements a new Galactic Starfighter map for 12v12 Deathmatch, a new Operation Boss Fight (Nahut, The Son of Shadow), and more.

In addition to this, the classes and combat have received some balancing changes including: Jedi Knight, Sith Warrior and more.

For the highlights of the latest patch, see below:

Highlights

– New Flashpoint: The traitor Theron Shan has found asylum on the Chiss world of Copero. Lead a covert strike to uncover his deadly plans – before it’s too late!

– New Operation Boss Fight: Nahut, The Son of Shadow – Be wary, Nahut is a master of stealth combat and a superweapon capable of galactic destruction.

– New Galactic Starfighter Map – Wage war in a 12v12 deathmatch in orbit above the planet Iokath.

– The Activities Window – The Group Finder interface has seen a huge overhaul! This includes repeatable rewards, bonuses for roles in need, along with unifying the group, Warzone, Galactic Star Fighter, and solo content into a single window.

– The Master’s Datacron – Available for 2,000 Cartel Coins on the Cartel Market. This item will allow you to take any existing character and make them a level 70 character! The Datacron also includes a full set of level 70 gear so you can jump right into the action. This boost does not advance any story progress.

General

– Due to the amount of changes being made to Group Finder, many group Missions will have their progress reset.

– The Group Finder has been renamed to the Activities Window. It has received numerous updates:

– Repeatable Rewards: For each PvE group activity, there is a repeatable reward when queuing for all available content. This reward is available after claiming the daily bonus for that category.

– Role-In-Need: Certain group-enforced content will now give bonuses to roles in need. The goal is to provide that extra incentive to help bring groups together quicker. EX: There is a lack of healers in the Activities Window queue for Master Mode Flashpoints, so we will offer an extra bonus to any healers who queue for that activity.

– Daily Rewards: For each PvE group activity there is a significant bonus to experience, credits, command experience and unassembled components. To be eligible for this reward you must queue for all available content.

– Solo Window: All Heroics, Daily Areas, Events (When Eligible) and flashpoints can be easily queued from the new solo window.

– Lockouts: We’ve redesigned the Operation lockout window to be more informative while cleaning up un-necessary duplication of data.

– Characters across the galaxy now have an appropriate amount of sparkle in their eyes.

– Solo activities such as Heroic Missions, Solo Flashpoints, and the Eternal Championship have been added to the Activities window. They will populate based on your character level.

– Queuing for Ranked and Unranked Warzones will now happen via the Activities window.

– The Galactic Command interface has been removed from the game. All queuing will happen via the Activities window or the Chapter launcher.

– The rewards for completing content via the Activities window have been increased.

– Corrected various issues related to searching in the Cartel Market.

– Defeating Nahut has been added to the Gods from the Machine Objective for Conquests.

– A new option has been added to the Preferences window, under User Interface > Cartel Market called Use Pack Viewer. This option is on by default. If the player turns it off, when a Cartel Market Pack is opened the items will be placed directly in your Item Stash without the pack viewer animation being played.

PUBG Xbox One Install Size Revealed, Console Version Described As “Pretty Much the Same Experience as PC”

With PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds set to launch on Xbox One on December 12, retailers are now starting to put placeholder packaging up on shelves, advertising the game and pushing for pre-orders.

In addition to reminding the public that, yes, PUBG is coming to consoles, the packaging also reveals the game’s install size, though it is “subject to change.”

For use only with Xbox One Systems. Up to 30 GB storage required (subject to change). Additional storage, hardware, broadband (ISP fees apply), Microsoft Account, and Xbox Live may be required for setup, some updates, and features, including retention of gameplay settings and information…

So 30GB is the amount of space you’ll need, assuming things don’t change before launch!

On the topic of PUBG on Xbox One, game designer Brendan Greene shared a few words about the upcoming release with GamesRadar. Green described the Xbox One experience as “pretty much the same” as PC.

From all the fans I’ve met that have played at the various conventions, they’ve felt it really natural, and it feels like pretty much the same experience as PC … So they’re very happy with it.

I’ll remain cynical until I’ve had a play of PUBG on Xbox One myself. However, it’s good to see a developer like Greene remaining confident and reporting good feedback.

Are you looking forward to the PUBG Xbox One release? Let us know.

In other PUBG news, there’s a mobile port in development for China audiences, the latest Test Server update is live and focuses on fixing kill cams, and a new datamine reveals three new weapons, updated desert map names and more.

Report: Star Wars Battlefront II Hidden Character Customization Options Uncovered

More Star Wars Battlefront II hidden goodies have been discovered by Reddit user uninspired_zebra. Previously, we were treated to screenshots of an “Arc Trooper”, which is part of the “Sentinel” class. Now we’ve been presented with video footage of a hidden character customization menu!

The hidden set of menus and options are showcased in the video below. It isn’t clear how uninspired_zebra accessed these options, but the footage seems legit.

Note how there are many different options for all factions. This was clearly a very comprehensive system that didn’t make it into the public build of the game.

Perhaps we’ll see these additional Battlefront II character customization options added in the future. I know a lot of players are hoping for more cosmetic choices, making for more personalized soldiers.

What do you make of these hidden customization menus? Wish they were accessible to all players? Let us know.

In other Star Wars Battlefront II news, the Reddit community is trying to get Battlefront II from 2005 nominated for a Steam Award, the game’s lag issues have been acknowledged by EA, and Battlerite‘s latest patch notes poke fun at EA’s “sense of pride and accomplishment” quote.

Call of Duty: WWII Weapon Prestige Hack – Prestige Your Weapon and Keep Your Preferred Attachments!

Are you one of those people who want to Prestige everything in Call of Duty games? If so, this little trick might be right up your alley as it lets you Prestige a weapon in Call of Duty: WWII without losing your preferred attachments.

For those not familiar with “weapon Prestige,” it’s essentially like the level Prestige wherein you (this time your gun) goes back to the default state, meaning there’s no attachments available until you earn them all over again. You do get rewards for doing it like a new Calling Card, seeing your clan tag on the gun itself while in a match, and even a kill counter (how many kills you’ve managed to rack up with said weapon).

Thanks to Reddit user  FinalFooty, we now know a safe and working COD: WWII weapon Prestige hack! Follow the instructions below to do it, and yes, we’ve managed to test it out and it works! Check out the video below for proof.

You can prestige your weapons without losing the attachments..

  1. Copy the whole division (don’t leave the menu or the clipboard will be cleared)
  2. Go to the weapon you copied the division and prestige it
  3. Go back to the divisions menu, hover over any class, press Triangle/Y and paste the class
  4. Done, there are locks on the attachments but they’re attached anyways

This little weapon Prestige hack works on different weapon types, and with 1-3 attachments. There is one little bug though, the hacked loadout can’t be renamed — at least from what I experienced. It’s a small price to pay to get that Advanced Rifling and Rapid Fire attachment available right off the bat.

If you’re planning on doing this little hack, I suggest doing it ASAP since Sledgehammer is rolling out a new patch this week, and there’s the possibility that this little exploit might get fixed.

Let us know if it works for you. If you have any Call of Duty: WWII handy tips, you can send it directly to us (tips at mp1st.com) and we’ll credit you if we use it.

For more COD: WWII weapon news, go check out this gameplay video where the new, and still unreleased weapons are shown off.
