Dead by Daylight Update Features Balance Tweaks, Bug Fixes & More

Dead by Daylight has received a small hotfix which targets a disconnecting issue while moving to a lobby with a Survive With Friends group.

Find the details for hotfix 1.8.1A below:

– Fixed an issue causing players to disconnect from the server while transitioning to a lobby through a Survive With Friends group

This follows the recently released Dead by Daylight update 1.8.1, which tweaks balance, fixes bugs, and more.

Take a look at the full list of patch notes below:

FEATURES & CONTENT

– Content – Added new VFX when failing a generator skill check to wake up

– Feature – Added a status effect on the portrait of a Survivor who is asleep

– Feature – Added dissolve VFX on the Nightmare when a survivor is transitioning to the Dream State

– Feature – Removed the in and out of Dream World transition when The Nightmare performs his memento mori kill. Now survivors who are being killed by the Nightmare will always be in the Dream State

BALANCE

– A bug fix where we made the 0.3 seconds of the attack always play has made all lunges feel longer. In fact we are playing the full attack phase animation allowing the killer too fully swing before playing the blade wipe animation. We have made a tweak this patch where this is not true for the obstruction hit. An obstruction as soon as it is registered will go into the obstruction hit cooldown.

– Changed the medkit add-ons Needle & Thread and Surgical Suture to have an additive increased skill check chances instead of a multiplicative one. Changed the Surgical Suture Skillcheck chance, increased it from Slightly(3%) to Moderately(5%). English only

– Increased The Nightmare’s terror radius from 16 to 24 meters. Increasing the Terror radius allows for survivors to have more room to maneuver around Freddy without having their aura seen. We’ve matched the Terror Radius and Lullaby to keep The Nightmare’s presence consistent at a base.

– Increased The Nightmares slowdown when successfully putting someone to sleep from 1 to 3 seconds. The slowdown will be more present and give survivors a slight window to put distance between themselves and Freddy before they are asleep.

– Nightmare’s Red Paint Brush add-on reduces terror radius by 16 meters instead of 8 meters, this is an adjustment since we increased the terror radius to 24 meters as a base for Freddy.

– Removed the ability to wake up a survivor in crawl state. Now when healed to the injured state they will automatically be woken up. Also applicable when using the Unbreakable perk

– Survivors with the Adrenaline perk at all Tiers will automatically be woken up from the Dream State when Adrenaline triggers. Adrenaline tiers 1 and 2 gain the ability to heal from dying as well as Tier 1 gains a 5 second sprint on activation. Updated description in English only

– The Nightmare will now appear twice briefly during the Dream Transition instead of being visible throughout the Dream Transition. This change should help Freddy players to confuse their targets and encourage a disengage and surprise strategy.

– Tweaked the Dream State VFX when a survivor is being pulled out of a locker when awake. Now the survivor is put to sleep at the beginning of the interaction rather than at the end

BUG FIXING

– Adjusted the brightness whenin the Dream State in the Treatment Theatre map

– Adjusted the collision on some bush asset barriers in Badhman Preschool

– Adjusted the fire visual effects in the basement of the Badham Preschool

– Adjusted the shape of the yard of one of the houses in Badham Preschool that caused grass to appear inside the house

– Fixed a collision that sometimes blocked player movement between the crashed school bus and a rock in the Autohaven Wrecker’s theme

– Fixed an audio and desync issue when the Nightmare performed his memento mori

– Fixed an issue that allowed a recovering survivor to be able to stack recovering and healing progression

– Fixed an issue that caused The Nightmare to see the outline of a survivor when they stood in front of a generator

– Fixed an issue that caused survivors to have the Wake Up prompt when the action wasn’t actually available

– Fixed an issue that caused the Hag’s killer stain to appear extremely bright

– Fixed an issue that caused the Nightmare’s hand to bend unnaturally during his memento mori

– Fixed an issue that caused the Unbreakable perk to be consumed if survivor was holding the Recover button at the same time they were being healed

– Fixed an issue that caused the destroy pallet audio string to play when the Nightmare damages a generator

– Fixed an issue that could cause a survivor to fall out of world and die when getting rescued from a hook

– Fixed an issue that could cause survivors arms to contort when getting unhooked

– Fixed an issue that could cause survivors to teleport on to the chandelier in the main house in Mother’s Dwelling when waking up another survivor

– Fixed an issue that could cause survivors to teleport to the first floor of the Treatment Room when healing another survivor on the control panel

– Fixed an issue that made it impossible for all players in the lobby to use the lobby chat after certain symbols were used

– Fixed an issue that made it impossible to interact with a totem located between a tree and fishing boat in the Backwater Swamp theme

– Fixed an issue that made it impossible to pass between a hedge and a rock on the Badham Preschool map

– Fixed an issue that made it impossible to pass between a rock and fence on the Badham Preschool map

– Fixed an issue that made it impossible to pass between a tree and a trashcan in the Badham Preschool map

– Fixed an issue that made it possible to get stuck behind a chest in the Badham Preschool map

– Fixed an issue that sometimes made it impossible for the Hillbilly and the Cannibal to use the chainsaw sprint in the main entrance of the Smokehouse

– Fixed an issue where achievements tied to leveling up appeared in Steam after closing and restarting the game

– Fixed an issue where the attack detection phase would be skipped as soon as a target is found. This affects the lunge, and makes it so that the full attack animation 0.3 seconds is played each time you swing, after the attack phase the character will go into the blade wipe, obstruction hit, or miss swing animation. This was done in the Nightmare DLC release. We have now adjusted the obstruction hit to not completely play, please see balance change for more details.

– Updated the descriptions for all the Medkit items to reflect the healing speed is increased while healing others. English only

New PUBG Skins & Colored Parachutes Found in Datamine

Datamining of the PUBG Test Server 1.0 patch has revealed even more clues on future content. Previously, a new weapon and vehicles were discovered, along with the desert map minimap and jet skis. And now we’ve been given a preview of potential upcoming character skins and colored parachutes.

Take a look at some examples below:

And click here to view the full 41 items found in the 1.0 patch preview.

Some of the items are named “Xbox” and will likely be available exclusively on Xbox One. Many other items seem well-suited to a desert environment, so perhaps we’ll see them release alongside the upcoming desert map.

It’s also worth noting that some of the datamined skins found back in July have still not found their way into the game. So, while it’s nice to see potential new items, don’t grow too attached, as it could be a long while before we see them in-game.

With that said, I am loving the look of that hooded jacket!

In other PUBG news, over 100,000 cheaters were banned during the past weekend, the desert map got new screenshots showing new locations, and developer Bluehole has revealed its new MMORPG project

Overwatch Patch Adds New Hero Moira, Buffs Ana & More

After being on the test server for the past couple of weeks, Overwatch‘s latest update is now live on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The patch adds Moira, a new support character with both regenerative and degenerative “technologies.”

In addition to this, Blizzard has tweaked several other heroes including Ana, increasing her damage from 60 to 70, and Mercy, decreasing her movement speed by 75% while casting..

The patch also fixes several bugs, including an issue where bots were unable to spawn, a problem with bots defending Point A on certain maps, and more.

For the full list of patch notes, see below:

New Hero: Moira (Support):

Wielding both regenerative and degenerative technologies at her fingertips, Moira O’Deorain is Talon’s ambitious geneticist who seeks the knowledge to rewrite the building blocks of human life by any means necessary.

Moira’s cutting-edge capabilities make her a mobile healer and damage dealer capable of adapting to any situation. Her main attack is Biotic Grasp, which she can use to either heal allies or sap an enemy’s life force. Biotic Grasp’s primary fire sprays a cone of energy that heals all teammates within range, draining biotic energy while active, which will replenish slowly over time. Her alternate fire is a beam that tethers to enemies, dealing damage and siphoning health. Draining her foes’ health regenerates Moira’s biotic energy even faster, allowing more healing for her allies.

Her Biotic Orb ability launches a sphere of energy that bounces around the battlefield, healing nearby allies or damaging enemies until it dissipates. Fade enables Moira to disappear out of sight and sprint through the shadows, and makes her invulnerable for its duration. When Moira’s ultimate is ready to be unleashed, she can cast Coalescence—a powerful, long-range beam of chaotic energy that pierces through barriers to heal allies or damage enemies in its path.

GENERAL

General

– Clicking the “leave game as group” checkbox will now remember your selection for future matches

Arcade

– One of the arcade slots will now change on a daily basis to include a variety of game modes such as Limited Duel, Low Gravity, and Capture the Flag

HERO UPDATES

Ana

– Biotic Rifle
– Damage increased from 60 to 70

Developer Comments: Ana has been outshined by other support heroes lately. Boosting her damage will help her defend herself and make her more threatening to the enemy team.

Lúcio

– Lúcio now has an effect above his head to indicate which song he’s playing in spectator mode

Mercy

– Caduceus Staff
– Increased visual readability of Mercy’s healing and damage boosting beams

Resurrect
– Cast time increased from 0 seconds to 1.75 seconds
– Mercy’s movement speed is now reduced by 75% while casting
– Can now be interrupted when Mercy is knocked back, stunned, or hacked

Valkyrie
– While active, Resurrect no longer has a cast time
– While active, casting Resurrect does not reduce Mercy’s movement speed

Developer Comment: We feel that Mercy’s recent rework has been successful, but her Resurrect ability still feels too strong and frustrating to play against. Now that it has a cast time, enemies are more able to counter the ability. However, Resurrect will cast instantly when Valkyrie is active. This should make her feel powerful when she transforms on the battlefield.

Winston

– Barrier Projector
– Now displays a health bar

Developer Comment: This change will help both Winston’s allies and enemies know how much more damage his shield can absorb from oncoming attacks.

USER INTERFACE

General

– Made several visual adjustments to revamp the spectator mode HUD including an improved spectator mode UI, a new unit frame style, and an animated ultimate indicator

BUG FIXES

General

– Fixed a bug that prevented player portrait borders from loading in the Hero Select screen or on the Match Status screen
– Fixed a bug that prevented players from adding spectators to a Deathmatch game from within the Custom Game lobby

A.I.

– Fixed a bug that prevented bots from respawning when they were moved to a different slot or team within the Custom Game lobby
– Fixed a bug that prevented the Sombra bot from hacking health packs
– Fixed an issue that affected the Bastion bot’s movement when defending Point A on Eichenwalde
– Fixed a bug that prevented bots from defending Point A on certain maps

Heroes

– Fixed a bug that caused Ana’s sidearm to emit a bright light when viewed in the Hero Gallery
– Fixed an issue that prevented Ganymede from making appropriate roadrunner noises when Bastion’s Dune Buggy skin was equipped
– Fixed a bug that prevented Mercy’s ultimate icon from displaying correctly when hacked by Sombra
– Fixed an issue causing Roadhog’s Chain Hook to latch on to enemy players for longer than intended
– Fixed an animation bug that caused Widowmaker’s knees to snap together when jumping
– Fixed an issue that caused the toy robot in Zarya’s Mystery Gift emote to inflate when she tore it apart
– Fixed an issue that prevented Junkrat’s RIP-Tire from casting properly while jumping

Maps

– Fixed a bug that caused the incorrect stage of the map (e.g. Sanctum on Nepal) to be displayed during the hero selection phase when playing on Nepal and Lijiang Tower
– Fixed a bug that prevented the progress bar from displaying briefly when players reached checkpoints on Escort and Escort/Assault maps
– Fixed an issue that prevented the targeting UI on Doomfist’s Seismic Slam from functioning correctly when aiming at the spinning turbine blade near the last point of Junkertown
– Fixed a bug that caused some objects to uncharacteristically fly across the room when shot on Horizon Lunar Colony

What you think of the latest patch? Are you excited to support others with Moira? Or just grateful for Ana’s damage increase? Let us know below.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost War Development Scheduled Announced

With Ghost Recon Wildlands getting an update earlier today that sees new stuff added to the PvP mode Ghost War, Ubisoft has sent a press release detailing what’s in the future for the third-person shooter.

According to Ubisoft, a “steady rollout” of new content releases into 2018 are planned for Ghost War, starting with today’s game update. Over the next few months, several new and free content updates that include new classes, new modes, new maps, and of course, gameplay tweaks. Today’s update is called “Interference” and includes:

  • Uplink: A 4v4 objective-based mode in which rival teams fight for the control of an access point situated at the center of the map. Building upon Ghost War’s class gameplay and unique mechanics, Uplink comes with four exclusive maps and will incite players to adapt their playstyles and come up with new strategies.
  • The Disruptor: A new Assault class available in all PvP modes expands the Ghost War roster to 14 unique classes. The Disruptor provides players with new tactical options when building their squad. Equipped with a jamming device, the Disruptor creates chaos and opportunities by interfering with the enemy HUD, including the team’s markers, mini-map information and notifications.

Interference also includes new gear and gameplay updates for both the base game and the PvP modes. For all information about the update and the full list of additions and improvements, please visit ghostrecon.com/interference.

Additionally, Ubisoft announced the Ghost Recon Wildlands Ghost War Pass as a standalone purchase on all digital storefronts for the game at just $14.99, and is now included as part of the original Season Pass.

This premium membership will instantly unlock every new class added to Ghost War with an exclusive seven-day early access. Current season pass owners will get the same benefits. At the end of each early access period, all other players will be able to unlock new classes with prestige credits earned through progression or by purchasing them in the in-game store.

Don’t forget, players can download Ghost Recon Wildlands for free right now via free trial on all platforms. If you do decide to continue playing, all progress earned will carryover to the purchased game.

Have you tried Ghost War? What do you make of it so far?

Call of Duty: WWII Headquarters Test in Progress, Gamebattles Testing Continues

While Call of Duty: WWII servers might be a bit more stable now, there’s still a few issues that have yet to be resolved, and one of them is Headquarters mode being empty.

For those not familiar, Headquarters is Call of Duty: WWII’s new social mode where players can interact with other people online, goof around, commend, and more. Unfortunately. since launch, the HQ social space has been riddled with issues, with developer Sledgehammer Games even needing to turn it off temporarily.

Well, things might be changing soon. According to Sledgehammer Games, Headquarters is being tested around the world, and players might find themselves in fully populated HQs!

In case you can’t see the tweet, it reads:

STATUS UPDATE: Global Dedicated Server support remains active. Continuing Gamebattles testing with an update tonight. HQ tests in progress around the world, and you may find yourself in a fully populated HQ. If not, you can still invite friends into your HQ. More intel to come.

Let’s hope that if Headquarters is fully  implemented that it won’t cause any issues when it comes to loading lobbies, and other stuff. I mean, it’s nice to have, but I’d wager, players would rather be playing than waiting or socializing, right?

Have you noticed any changes or improvements in Headquarters? If so, let us know in the comments what they are.

Don’t forget to check out our feature where we compare HQ vs. Destiny 2′ s Farm! We pit the two against one another and declare a winner, even. We also posted the top things we want fixed in COD: WWII multiplayer ASAP right here.

Star Wars Battlefront II Microtransactions Removed Entirely, All Gear to Be Unlocked Through Progression (Update)

Update:

As expected, EA has confirmed our report. Check out the complete letter to fans in full below.

Thank you to everyone in our community for being the passionate fans that you are.

Our goal has always been to create the best possible game for all of you – devoted Star Wars fans and game players alike. We’ve also had an ongoing commitment to constantly listen, tune and evolve the experience as it grows. You’ve seen this with both the major adjustments, and polish, we have made over the past several weeks.

But as we approach the worldwide launch, it’s clear that many of you feel there are still challenges in the design. We’ve heard the concerns about potentially giving players unfair advantages. And we’ve heard that this is overshadowing an otherwise great game. This was never our intention. Sorry we didn’t get this right.

We hear you loud and clear, so we’re turning off all in-game purchases. We will now spend more time listening, adjusting, balancing and tuning. This means that the option to purchase crystals in the game is now offline, and all progression will be earned through gameplay. The ability to purchase crystals in-game will become available at a later date, only after we’ve made changes to the game. We’ll share more details as we work through this.

We have created a game that is built on your input, and it will continue to evolve and grow. Star Wars Battlefront II is three times the size of the previous game, bringing to life a brand new Star Wars story, space battles, epic new multiplayer experiences across all three Star Wars eras, with more free content to come. We want you to enjoy it, so please keep your thoughts coming. And we will keep you updated on our progress.

Original Story:

In news that should make everyone (including us!) happy, EA finally, finally caved and is taking out all the Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions that are making everyone very unhappy. How unhappy? Try having the-most-downvoted-Reddit-post-in-history unhappy!

Multiple sources have confirmed to MP1st that an announcement is coming very, very soon. Once the official announcement is out we”ll be sure to update the post.

It seems Crystals, the in-game currency that can be bought by real-world money, is off the table! All Star Cards, Heroes, and game-changing items can only be obtained by natural progression (grinding)! When DICE mentioned that a “progression iteration” was incoming at launch, we never thought it’d be this big, but we’ll take it with open arms.

It’s been a challenging few days at EA and developer DICE, what with the recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit not going down as well as some people might have hoped. Will this change be enough to stop the low score review bombing by users? Let’s hope so.

Stay tuned to MP1st’s review of Star Wars Battlfront II which will factor in the new changes, and where we can hopefully focus on the gameplay rather than the predatory microtransaction scheme by EA.

Regardless if this was changed due to gamer pressure or not, it’s certainly a victory for gamers worldwide. Did this change your opinion of Battlefront II?  Will you consider buying it now? Let us know what you think of this major development in the comments below.

DICE “Will Continue to Consider” Star Wars Battlefront II Private Servers

Star Wars Battlefront II developer DICE took part in a Reddit AMA, in order to answer the community’s most burning questions.

User RektSquared wonders if private servers will ever come to the game:

Hiya fellas. Are you considering private servers for Battlefront 2? This really is such an impressive feature for a game to have. Allows competitive play and is certain to prolong the longevity of gameplay, as players can stay on maps and gamemodes they like.

Producer Paul Keslin says its something the studio will “continue to consider”:

This is something we hear a lot and will continue to consider. We know there are folks out there that want to either run their own competitive events or find a safe space to take screenshots / create crazy videos. Those are things we’re excited to see you all do so it will continue to be on our radar.

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to launch November 17 across PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, those with special editions of the game, as well as those with an Origin Access or EA Access subscription, are already playing.

In other Star Wars Battlefront II news, Blizzard Entertainment has poked fun at the game in their latest StarCraft II trailer and related tweets, a day one patch that brings “a bit more polish” to the game has been revealed and rolled out, and the Belgium Gaming Commission is investigating whether or not the game’s loot boxes constitute as gambling.

Star Wars Battlefront II Arcade Mode Credits Cap Intended To “Stop Potential Abuse,” DICE Says

EA sent three members of the Star Wars Battlefront II‘s development team over to Reddit to answer the community’s most burning questions.

User AsexualAmeba asked about the Arcade mode Credits cap, and if any changes are coming:

My job keeps me incredibly busy, and, often times, I just want to come home and relax against AI. I’ve noticed that the amount of credits is capped per day in arcade mode to 500. With crate’s current cost, I would have to max the system out for eight days in a row to afford just one crate. Do you have any plans to change up the arcade values so more casual players like me could afford more than 2 or 3 loot crates a month?

Update: Also, would any of the future DLC or maps be aimed at the offline arcade modes, or will you be focusing on multiplayer updates?

Producer Paul Keslin responded with:

As we want to let players earn Credits offline via a more relaxed game mode, we needed to also find a way to make sure it wouldn’t be exploited in a way that would impact Multiplayer. Because of that we made the decision to limit the number of Credits earned to stop potential abuse. We will be looking at data continually and make adjustments to make things as balanced as possible.

As for more Arcade, just like every mode in our game, we want to look for ways to expand it going forward. Unfortunately at this point we don’t have anything to share right now, but know that we care about Offline modes.

With Arcade we set out to let players earn Credits offline via a more relaxed game mode, but as a result we needed to make sure it wouldn’t be exploited in a way that would impact Multiplayer.
So to stop this potential for abuse, we decided to place a limit on Credits earned offline. We’ll look to find ways to expand on the options to earn Credits offline as we want to make the experience rewarding, but we don’t have any new news right now.

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to launch November 17 across PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, those with special editions of the game, as well as those with an Origin Access or EA Access subscription, are already playing.
