Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Supremacy DLC Gameplay – Skyrise

This Tuesday, June 2, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Supremacy DLC will introduce four new multiplayer maps to the mix, one of which you may find bears a striking resemblance to an old Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 favorite.

Skyline, the third of four maps being shown off in newly recorded early-access gameplay footage from a handful of Call of Duty YouTubers, is a re-imagining of a classic Modern Warfare 2 map you may remember called Highrise. Originally, it was a part of the vanilla list of maps in the game and one that quickly became known for its mix of intense sniper battles and close quarters gameplay.

You can watch it in action below and see if it lives up to your memories of it. You can also check out previous map highlights from the new Supremacy DLC by clicking the links below.

Destiny – Trials of Osiris Stats Revealed, Cheaters Get Banned, & Iron Banner Returns Next Week With New Loot

With the first Trials of Osiris end-game PvP event all wrapped up, Destiny developer Bungie is ready to share a few interesting stats and reveal what lies ahead for those interested in the game’s competitive offerings.

Here’s a look at some numbers recorded following last weekend’s event:

  • 3,798,561 = Trials of Osiris matches played
  • 118,627,301 = Kills (or Deaths, if your glass be half-empty)
  • 188,442 = Players visited the Mercurial promised land
  • 299,001 = Guardians scored a perfect scorecard

Bungie also shared these informative heat maps:

too_time_heatmap

Heat map based on most popular combat zones.

too_sniper_heatmap

Heat map based on most popular sniper perches.

If you fell short of achieving a flawless victory and missed the boat to The Lighthouse on Mercury, you can always get a video tour of the new social space right here and take another crack at it this weekend. As for this Friday, May 29, Bungie isn’t quite ready to share what new arena will host the carnage, but Guardians will find out soon enough.

Those who were unlucky enough to run into Guardians who cheated their way to The Lighthouse by manipulating player connections can rest a little easier knowing that Bungie has their watchful gaze on those sad few.

“There were some among you who took nefarious action against your opponents,” wrote Community Manager David “DeeJ” Dague. “Our intrepid team of investigators has diagnosed the most egregious cheaters among us. If you earned your victories by sinister means, you may very well have also earned a temporary (or permanent) time-out.”

“Bungie is always watching,” he added. “We enjoy a fair fight and we aim to protect the landscape of the game. Play nice!”

In addition, this Tuesday, June 2 marks the return of Iron Banner. According to Bungie, Guardians can expect new armor pieces and weapons in Lord Saladin’s inventory, including new Boots, Gauntlets, Fusion Rifles, and Scout Rifles. On top of the new loot, Etheric Light will also be rewarded at Iron Banner Ranks 3 and 5.

As a reminder of what’s new in Destiny Update 1.2.0, here are a few changes that will directly affect Iron Banner this time around:

  • Lower-ranked Guardians on your account will receive a reputation boost to catch up to your higher-ranked Guardian more quickly
  • Rewards cost less Glimmer – the grind is less real
  • Etheric Light is available for purchase at Rank 3 and Rank 5
  • The Gunsmith has inherited Lord Saladin’s weapon reforging service
  • Power still matters, and it matters a little more as the delta between two players increases
  • The Cauldron and Pantheon have been added to the playlist, along with Exodus Blue on PlayStation

As the Trials of Osiris returns in just a few hours, tell us in the comments how you faired last weekend! What strategies did you employ?

Evolve’s Free Arena Mode Update Arrives Today, Watch The New Gameplay Trailer

A free new update for Turtle Rock Studios’s 3v1 shooter, Evolve, introduces a new combat-focused game type called “Arena Mode,” pitting Hunters against Monster in a round-based cage-match on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Here are a few key highlights of the new mode, according to the studio:

  • The new Arena Mode places five fixed domes on each of the 14 maps in Evolve. For those not up on your math, that’s 70 locked-down venues, ready for brawling.
  • At the start, you select a map, then you’re in for a best-of-three series of hardcore firefights. The Monster and Hunters are locked in that dome until one side is eliminated. After that match, you immediately jump to another dome on the same map for round two – that continues until there’s a victor.
  • All the Hunters and Monster begin each match with one perk.
Monsters start at Stage 2 with 50 percent armor, but can feed on wildlife in battle to regain armor and even evolve to Stage 3. (Though the size of the mobile arena makes this a tough task.)
  • The dome isn’t coming down. So, for all you Trappers out there, your job got a little easier.
  • There is no dropship timer. Once a Hunter dies in battle, they have to sit it out until the next fight.
  • Players can’t change their character or perk selection between rounds, but Monster players can change their abilities.

Check out the new trailer above, showcasing a full match along with gameplay commentary.

Advanced Warfare Supremacy DLC Brings Back Fan-Favorite Modern Warfare 2 Map, New Gameplay Trailer

Sledgehammer Games is bringing new multiplayer maps and more Exo Zombies to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the upcoming Supremacy DLC, launching first on Xbox Live this June 2.

The expansion’s just-released gameplay trailer shows off four maps, including one that pays homage to the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map, Highrise. It also reveals new enemies in Chapter 3 of Advanced Warfare’s Exo Zombies story, along with new abilities and weapons.

Have a look at the reveal trailer above and the press release details below:

Parliament

“Docked on the River Thames, this military cargo ship delivers a view of the London cityscape along with a fast-paced combat experience. Mixed site-lines provide opportunities for all styles of play to dominate this medium-sized map. Players can take control of the map-based scorestreak to unleash a barrage of missiles that annihilate enemies.”

Kremlin

“Gamers must prepare for intense combat outside Russia’s presidential palace in the new map Kremlin, as they navigate the worn-torn buildings of Red Square in this medium-sized, three-lane map. Secure elevated positions to give the team a strategic advantage, or use exoskeleton capabilities to avoid being caught in the minefield that activates mid-match.”

Compound

“Players take combat preparation to the limit in an Atlas training facility hidden away in the Colorado wilderness, as they’ll have to be quick on the trigger in this small, symmetrical map, which funnels high-speed combat through tight corners to the main tower structures.”

Skyrise

“Players deploy to an Atlas Skyscraper overlooking the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Based on the fan-favorite, Highrise, from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by Infinity Ward, this map brings new exoskeleton mechanics to the classic multiplayer layout. Gamers must dominate the power positions in the center of this small-to-medium sized map to control the key navigation points.”

Carrier

“Following the end of the last episode, Infected, Bruce Campbell (Army of Darkness, Burn Notice) steps in and joins the battle-hardened cast of John Malkovich (In the Line of Fire, RED, Burn After Reading), Bill Paxton (Aliens, Titanic, Edge of Tomorrow), Rose McGowan (Planet Terror, Scream), and Jon Bernthal (Fury, The Wolf of Wall Street). In Carrier, the four are trapped on an Atlas aircraft carrier. Carrier features advanced new weaponry, enemy Atlas Strike teams, Sentinel support squads, and a host of new zombie enemies.”
