How CS:GO Is Striving to Stay Relevant in 2019 and Beyond

Over the years, many games have fought for the title of king of the eSports first-person shooters. Despite fierce competition from games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive continues to carry the torch for the FPS genre despite being released all the way back in August 2012. Much like dogs age seven years for each equivalent human year, video games also suffer from a similar fate. In order to keep a game fresh and interesting, developers are constantly finding new ways to keep the fanbase entertained. With this in mind, how is CS:GO evolving and continuing to stay so relevant when other similar games have fallen by the wayside?

Going Global

Competitive gaming and eSports has exploded within the last few years. With the support of sites offering betting odds, dedicated eSports journalism and csgo news, CS:GO has developed into a global brand. Endorsements from the former Danish Prime Minister have also done the global appeal of CS:GO no harm; Lars Løkke Rasmussen recently hailed Astralis as “role models” after playing some CS:GO with the team and speaking to them for an extended period of time. In addition to this, news recently broke of Brazilian team Furia signing a four-year sponsorship with Nike. This represents the brand’s first foray into individual eSports team sponsorship and proves that the opportunities within the CS:GO scene are far too great for a company of Nike’s stature to turn down.

Anybody for a Game of Auto Chess?

f-world board game faceoff between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Put simply, Auto Chess is a game type that is centered around team building and character placement. It consists of eight players fighting each other in randomized 1v1 matches. With the numerous weapons and items available in CS:GO, there is significant potential to level up your weapon classes over time (as is the case in traditional Auto Chess). According to Reddit, CS:GO fans are working on their own take on Auto Chess within the game and have reaffirmed that the game is capable of keeping up with current gaming trends.

CS:GO is different to games such as League of Legends, Starcraft 2 and Dota 2 when it comes to patches and fixing bugs. While the aforementioned games often spend weeks testing every small detail, CS:GO rolls out updates at the drop of a hat which are done subtly and with minimal fuss. Similarly, Dota 2 is known for completely reinventing itself every couple of months or so whereas the gaming elements of CS:GO have stayed pretty constant over the years. Despite negative criticism, CS:GO had one of its best-ever months in December of last year after going free to play. As developers, Valve know what their customers want and when they want it, which will undoubtedly stand them in good stead in the future.

Exciting Times Lie Ahead

In a rapidly expanding industry such as eSports, predicting what’s around the corner is an enviable task. However, it’s fair to say that competitive gaming is here to stay and CS:GO will remain a huge part of the scene for the foreseeable future. The only thing that we can predict with absolute certainty is that with upcoming events in lavish locations such as Las Vegas, CS:GO is set to go from strength to strength in 2020 and beyond.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled Update 1.05 Rolled Out, Still Doesn’t Fix Issues From Yesterday’s Patch

Just yesterday, we got a rather hefty Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled patch that was aimed to fix bugs, the PS4 save corruption issue and more. Today, Beenox has now released Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled update 1.05, and given we just got a patch yesterday, presumably, this is to fix some of the bugs introduced in the last patch.

While no actual patch notes other than “bug fixes” have been released, it seems this patch hasn’t fixed some of the lingering issues the game has. The game still crashes after you pass the finish line, and even the save corruption issue is still happening. This message by Reddit user Baratursss puts things in perspective, sadly.

New patch 1.05 has arrived!!
byu/Baratursss incrashteamracing

So, we’ve got Grand Prix patch 1.04, and the patch 1.05 day after, game’s keep crashing as god intended, but now, it can crash right after you pass the finish line, and the save corruption still happening, plus the TS shortcut still works, and even characters getting messed up is still a thing.

But hey, now you can get 79 coins for 1 place, and remember having fun wiggling your wheels while waiting for some dude to finish watching the trak preview? Oh the good old days.

So what the hell are they fixing?

We’ll update the post once we have the actual patch notes. In the meantime, go share in the comments what changes or fixes you’ve encountered so far.

Battlefield 5 Update 1.20 Patch Notes. File Size and Fixes Listed

As announced yesterday, DICE has rolled out not a server-side update to Battlefield 5, but an actual patch! Battlefield 5 update 1.20 is out now, and here’s what it does. Don’t expect anything new in this title update, as the Battlefield 5 update 1.20 patch notes clearly mention that this update is for fixes, since the last update before this included a ton of balance changes.

Clocking in at 1GB on PS4, 3.3GB on PC, not everything that needs to be fixed in Battlefield 5 is included in the patch, and DICE explains why.

Battlefield 5 update 1.20 patch notes:

  • Fix for hit registration which was the most noticeable when using airplanes. Players should see improvements across the entire game, as we have learned that this was affecting all Vehicles and Infantry under certain circumstances.
  • Face paints for the Axis male soldiers are once again functional
  • Stability improvements to the game client

Here’s DICE’s explanation on why the “invisible soldier bug” and other stuff still aren’t fixed.

What’s not fixed?

We’re still investigating potential fixes for the ‘Invisible Soldier’ issue that appeared with the recent updates. Originally we believed that this was caused by faulty customization options, however after extensive testing we’ve learned that this is a purely random occurrence that exists on the client side only, and whilst harmful to the gameplay experience, it’s something that we’re confident isn’t something that’s able to be intentionally exploited by players.

We believe that this is caused by an engine issue that prevents the client from rendering the needed texture files, and isn’t consistent across all players on the server. Whilst it may be that you’re attacked by an Invisible Soldier, it’s every bit as likely that your Squad Mates are indeed seeing the opposing player correctly, and better able to identify the threat and engage. This remains a priority for us to resolve in our next update.

The stability issues affecting Al Sundan on Conquest have otherwise been resolved, however through fixing this we’ve discovered a graphical corruption (artifcacting) that we’re not happy with. We’re continuing to work on this one and will keep you updated this month. This won’t impact our intent to deliver Marita to you this month, and we’re working to get you out on the full version of Al Sundan as soon as possible.

Hopefully, DICE can roll out another fix to fix some of the big issues still in the game.

Report: Major PlayStation Security Exploit Lets Hackers Use Customer Credit Card Info Without Needing the Security Code

We’ll file this one under the “major screw up” category, as it seems Sony has been left vulnerable for years now there has been an exploit that has potentially been costing consumers and allowing thieves to profit. Due to the nature of this PlayStation Security exploit, we won’t disclose how to actually do it since, y’know, it’s illegal. However we do hope this stirs up awareness for Sony, which according to a user who’s filed a claim, that the exploit is still not being acknowledged.

For gaming experience in the future, we’d recommend to check secure brands that issue safe games and care about the security of their customers.

[Update 2] We have decided to include the actually video and user who had decided to make this public finally since this isn’t something anyone can go out and do themselves as it requires a stolen PSN account. The video, which is about 15 minutes long shows the process of how hackers are able to commit fraud on stolen users account despite there being a security check for the users main account via CVV confirmation. We originally didn’t not want to include it for respect that it could do greater harm and per the request of some of the active scene members not wanting the video to garner attention as it’s harmful. Though Since it is public and the user does say they wish see this fixed we decided to include it.

What you are seeing here is a bypass of the accounts CVV code. Again, there are measures in place to prevent this if the user hasn’t set-up 2-steps or security answers, but due to the nature of the bug it allows hackers to exploit it by providing a false form of payment that makes the account default to the first provided payment upon adding funds that become available on family accounts.

[Update] We have included some examples near the bottom of the article that are highly supportive that the exploit published today is very real and has been going on for some time now for accounts that have been breached from scams or other means for people to get access to accounts. This does not affect the majority of users out there, especially if they have 2-step verification enabled. Though this is not to say this isn’t an issue that shouldn’t go unnoticed as in the examples supplied its clear it can be harmful to folks who aren’t informed as many of us on the internet.

Original Story

Basically, how the exploit operates is that typically, PSN requires all credit cards to supply them with their CVV security number. When you normally operate PSN this isn’t something the system usually requests, but when you log in from a different console it will ask you for the CVV number of the credit card on file (if you have one) before you can proceed to log-in.  However due to a very easy exploit, if a thief was to get their hands on someones PlayStation user’s account, they could potentially rack up victim’s credit cards without even knowing their CVV number as the process bypasses the requirement.

A screenshot from the released video showing how the exploit is done and what the end results in

“It isn’t an exploit with the consoles, it’s an exploit with the network” one modder told us in a private message. When we asked the original poster of the method as to why this exploit is only coming out today in the form of a YouTube video, their response was rather shocking in stating that Sony simply did not care unless it was made public. This exploit has allegedly been around roughly for five full years. The user had claimed that they had sent Sony the exploit in the past, via their own hacking disclosure program, hackerone. The user eventually ended up getting a response that informed them that the exploit served no security risk and was simply fraud. This email was from just today as you can read below.

An email response from an employee at Sony's HackerOne program

We strongly disagree with this reply from one of the employees at Sony’s HackerOne as this opens up breached users to a larger threat. It more of an oversight, but should have been something sent up to the correct department rather than brushed off as just a “fraud issue.”

And the problem only gets worse as this typically ends up leading to illegal account selling and consoles pre-loaded with the latest games and on the latest firmware, a piece of information confirmed to us by the modder we spoke to earlier. There are countless black markets out there (mostly out of the USA due to high gaming cost in other countries) that sell PSN accounts loaded with PS3, PS Vita, PSP, and PS4 games using this exploit, and if you search hard enough you can even find consoles being sold like this. Shops in Brazil, up to the point until Sony changed their account authentication and gamesharing process would sell modded PS4 pre-loaded with titles via modchips.  One other user familiar with the exploit informed us that the way sellers are doing this is that they are racking up credit card balances from one user, and applying it to three other PlayStation accounts that get placed on separate consoles to be sold; although they’ll eventually be banned if they ever go online.

For all intents and purposes, this is complete fraud, and one could argue borderline piracy since it involves the reselling of illegally obtained software and account selling which is definitely against PlayStation’s own Terms of Service (TOS).  This certainly has been something that the major players in the PlayStation 4 hacking scene have been pretty much against for the longest time. In fact, while the latest PS4 firmware is no doubt exploited behind closed doors, many hackers have vowed to never release an exploit that is achievable on the latest hardware due to mass piracy and online cheating.

We have reached out to Sony for a reply and will let you know if anything comes of this. For safety purposes, keep an eye out on all your finances as you never know when someone may steal your information. We highly suggest you activate the two-step verification on your PlayStation Account, whether you want to store credit info is entirely up to you. This certainly isn’t as big as a blunder as Sony’s infamous PSN hack that happened eight years ago where millions of potential credit cards were possibly stolen, though it is a pretty big exploit in the wrong hands.

If you need help setting up Two-Step verification you can do so from either a PlayStation console or from the official PlayStation Two-Step Guide webpage, along with additional security questions to help protect your account.

Minor Update:

We have searched for some potential cases and have actually found a very recent one that shows effects from someone most likely using this exploit, along with a good amount of other posts.

And this reddit post from 10 months back with a similar situation: Reddit

A Reddit Post from 7 month ago: Reddit

Another one dating as far back as three years: Reddit

A couple of people on the official PlayStation Forums also, one here ,here, and here.

Source of image below: PlayStation Forums From Last April

A Gamefaqs post detailing the same situation here.

There are several others out there with the exact same scenario, which all pertain to the use of the Family management sub-account, something we didn’t want to originally state in the article due to it being a part of the exploit.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Perks, Game Modes, Equipment, and More Leaked

It’s another day, and another alleged leaked info regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available. This time, the Modern Warfare perks, game modes and more are the new info we can pore over.

Once again leaked by YouTuber TheGamingRevolution over on Twitter, Reddit user WW2er compiled the known Modern Warfare leaked info in one place.

Before we get into the perks and all that, here are a few things TGR said on twitter:

– From what he heard, the gameplay in modern warfare is very fluid. good news.

– War mode from ww2 along with 15 concepted modes on top of the regular modes are in the game but are not complete (IW had a lot of cut modes so they might not make it at all to the final build)

– There are 15 maps in total NOT including the large ones, these are something else.

– Emergency drop comes back

– “The large map playlist will be unique maps not included within the regular rotation. They’re not in the game yet but they’re coming. There will be unique attributes to these large maps (such as the Bradley / tank killstreak that can only be called in on these large maps).”

– When tgr got asked about shooting lights off in MP: “You can in the campaign at least, not sure about multiplayer, but I’d assume so”

– Modern Warfare does not resemble any modern warfare game, MW is its own thing..

– “In CO-OP there’s three modes right now (could change): Spec Ops, PvPvE 8v8, & PvPvE 16v16”

– “There’s going to be a mode, either for MP or BR, I’m thinking it’ll be implemented in BR, but you’ll be in a prison and everyone in the game will be in a jail cell, & people will fight 1v1 with fists. The winner is going to be awarded a gun. This is all very early concept stuff” its called “fight club”

– Currently in BR while you wait for the game to start, everyone will spawn with a random gun and can kill each other

– Riot shields come back as primaries and they have a flashlight attached to it.

– BR has a 100 vs 100 tdm mode is is being worked on my raven software.

– Trophy system

– Tac insert

– Deadly silence: temporarily makes you faster, silencing your footsteps and making the enemies footsteps louder for you.

– EMP plane: Flies an rc plane with an EMP bomb that can destroy killstreaks (Opinion: this might sound op on paper, but its like an emp grenade thrown by an rc plane instead of you throwing it.)

Things are still being balanced.

– Frag Grenade

– Semtex

– C4

– Throwing knives

– Molotov

– Proxy mine

– Claymore

TACTICAL EQUIPMENT:

– Decoy grenade: creates fake ping on enemies minimap

Gas grenades: function like the gas in WW2

Also i am seeing a lot of people confused with the “pick 5” system, so i have drawn a sketching of that:

https://i.redd.it/tawupjj49z731.png

Again, don’t forget that NONE of the info above has been confirmed to be 100 percent legit. So treat it with a huge bag of salt, alright? If you’re curious about the previous leaks, check out this report regarding battle royale in Modern Warfare, and yesterday, we posted about the alleged Modern Warfare killstreak rewards list.

Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Review – Queen of the Castle

There’s a fair bit of assumption that if you’re reading this, or you’re interested in playing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, that you’re familiar with the Castlevania franchise (most notably: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night), and Koji “Iga” Igarashi’s work. Either that, or you’re familiar with the whole “Metroidvania” style of gameplay, which, for those not familiar with the term, refers to how both Metroid and the Castlevania franchises features a large interconnected world level/map, that has certain parts inaccessible until you’ve earned a certain skill or item to be able to access that certain area.

So, the big question here is: is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night a worthy successor to Symphony of the Night? Is it a good enough action game that can stand on its own legs? The short answer is yes, but there’s a lot more to it than just that, since there are certain elements that might not sit well with certain gamers, though that in itself is subjective.

Mistress of the Night

In Ritual of the Night, you star as Miriam, a Shardbinder that falls into a deep sleep, but is suddenly awakened at just the right moment when a castle appears threatening to wipe out all of humanity. The game’s main protagonist is Gebel, another Shardbiner, and Miriam’s friend, though there seems to be more to it than meets the eye. The story itself is your typical Japanese video game tale, which in itself isn’t bad. But do expect your traditional twist and turns (though a bit predictable) to add spice to the story, which also spills over to the gameplay in a good way.

While the story won’t win any awards, the soundtrack might. Featuring work by NoisyCroak, it blends classical video game tunes with modern beats, and the result is fantastic. I’m not one that appreciates video game soundtracks often, and it’s a testament to how fantastic Ritual of the Night’s musical score is that I remember it fondly.

However, the same can’t be said for the game’s visuals and performance. While the game itself looks beautiful enough, some might see it as too plain given how 2D action games have upped the ante on how gorgeous the overall graphics, design and animations are. That said, it doesn’t look bad — far from it, it’s just that don’t expect a gargantuan leap from the Metroidvania games of old, which is sad to say given we’re in 2019.

What might be more disappointing is the game’s performance. I played Ritual of the Night on a PS4 Pro, and encountered numerous game glitches like item pickups not registering, frame rate issues (particularly if there’s too many happening on the screen at once), and other technical issues. I want to point out too that I’ve experienced controller issues playing with my SCUF and other modded controllers. I’ve test five so far, and encountered issues with all of them, though not sure if it’s a game issue or just my controllers acting up (which I doubt since  can play other games OK).

Gameplay Is Queen!

Regardless of its technical shortcomings, Ritual of the Night brings the gameplay in spades. From the moment it starts, you’re catapulted right into the action. While there is an early tutorial period, there’s minimal hand-holding, which is refreshing, and the action doesn’t relent.

Prepare to experiment on different shard abilities which range from calling in bats, a flying pig (yes, really) and the like, to choosing which directional ability you prefer (Welcome Company FTW!). There are a ton of gameplay options that can make or break your experience, and in how you tackle sections and bosses. Thankfully, there’s a quick shortcut feature that lets you switch from one loadout to another in one button click (and believe me, you’ll need it), though I did experience technical issues with that as well, wherein loadouts didn’t save properly and so on.

Complementing shards are weapons, armor pieces, character accessories that augment your character’s overall stats. While your character levels up and increases her base stats, your main damage, armor, etc. boosts will come from the equipment that you find while playing, or whatever it is you craft.

Yes, the game has a pretty good crafting system that has you collecting shards, various ingredients and more, in order to craft weapons, armors, and even food that give permanent stat boosts! Even after completing the game, I don’t think I’ve eaten half of the meals the game has.

This ingredient harvesting mechanic makes killing enemies multiple times whenever you “reset” a section by leaving and re-entering a whole lot easier to take, since chances they will drop something that you can use to craft something useful. In my playthrough, I’ve yet to craft some of the legendary weapons and armors since I don’t have the ingredients needed to craft their base versions. It adds a layer of replayability to the game, which isn’t a surprise since Iga’s other titles implemented the same thing,

Old-School Madness

If there’s one thing I can complain about in Ritual of the Night, it’s how obscure some of the stuff in the game is. Without going into spoilers, let’s just say that a good chunk of the game (and the ending) can’t be access without doing something a little out of left field. Thankfully for me, I knew people who already finished it, whom I asked on what to do next specifically since the game doesn’t tell you.

Now, before anyone gets annoyed on how gamers these days want everything spoon-fed, I’ve been gaming since the NES days, and I know how games back then relied on obscure gameplay mechanics and whatnot, and we gamers relied on gaming magazines to know more about ’em.

While some might appreciate this, it’s not really conducive to someone who wants to finish the game on their own. Aside from a super quick reference to a few things, you’ll be left scratching your head on what to do. I know past Iga-developed games did this as well, so it’s mostly a matter of people knowing what to expect, but I still say that at this day and age, gamers should be given everything they need to know in order to finish a game they bought, no?

Symphony of Blood

If you’re a fan of Iga’s past works, then Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a no-brainer purchase. Now, if you were looking (or hoping) for a worthy action-adventure game, and haven’t played any of Iga’s past works, Ritual of the Night stil won’t disappoint, though it might not have the same bite.

Aside from technical issues, and how vague the game is in some areas, everything in Ritual of the Night will remind you why titles like Symphony of the Night are held in such high regard. Ritual of the Night offers non-stop action, an in-depth crafting system that will have you exploring the castle deeper and deeper to know more, and of course, that old familiar Metroidvania hook is still there. All in all, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is one ritual you wouldn’t want to miss

Overall Score: 9/10

Pros:

  • Fantastic Metroidvania gameplay
  • Musical score is topnotch
  • Nice blend of action-adventure elements with RPG mechanics
  • Offers a ton of different ways to play through the game

Cons:

  • Technical issues like framerate stutters, item glitches and so on
  • Vague game progression might not sit well with others

Review code provided by the publisher. Spent over 18 hours jumping, running and killing everything in the castle to get to the secret area. Played on PS4 Pro. You can read MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

Battlefield 5 Upcoming Hotfix Set for Tomorrow, Here Are the Fixes Being Rolled Out

Update:

The patch isn’t just a serve-side hotfix, but an actual patch! It’s out already, and here are the rest of the details.

Original Story:

Just yesterday, we mentioned that DICE was planning on rolling out both a server-side hotfix, and a patch for some of the issues plaguing Battlefield 5. Today, the studio announced that the Battlefield 5 upcoming hotfix will be released tomorrow.

Here’s what the Battlefield 5 upcoming hotfix set for tomorrow will fix:

Change list:

  • Fix for hit registration which was the most noticeable when using airplanes. P Players should see improvements across the entire game, as we have learned that this was affecting all Vehicles and Infantry under certain circumstances.
  • Face paints for the Axis male soldiers are once again functional
  • Stability improvements to the game client

As for the stuff that are still not fixed, DICE knows about this and has mentioned some of it.

The stability issues affecting Al Sundan on Conquest have otherwise been resolved, however through fixing this we’ve discovered a graphical corruption (Artifacting) that we’re not happy with. We’re continuing to work on this one and will keep you updated this month. This won’t impact our intent to deliver Marita to you this month, and we’re working to get you out on the full version of Al Sundan as soon as possible.

As you can read, the Al Sundan map issue won’t affect the Marita map, which is a relief. Once we get news when a new patch will be released, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Alcatraz will return to on all platforms on July 9th, along with a dark new twist coming to Alcatraz in Operation Apocalypse Z. Splitscreen co-op will also be restored in all Blackout modes with our July 9th update alongside new Blackout map updates.

Rumor: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 Killstreak Rewards Listed

Just the other day, we posted that YouTuber TheGamingRevolution has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have its own battle royale mode, which Infinity Ward could only give a “no comment” response when asked about it.

Well, TGR’s back at it again. This time, he spills the (alleged) beans on the Modern Warfare 2019 killstreak rewards! Yes, it’s currently set as killstreaks and not scorestreaks, which is a huge departure from the past Call of Duty titles from recent memory. Note that the names and abilities mentioned below are in no way 100 percent accurate, and same as in any game in development, things could change.

Modern Warfare 2019 killstreak rewards:

  • Personal UAV – No mini map available in the game, this will give the earner a map which will ping enemies like your standard UAV. This will work only for the killstreak reward earner and not for the entire team.
  • Shielded Turret
  • Care Package – Standard Care Package that’s in every COD game.
  • Scrambler Drone – When deployed by the player, will scramble radar and maps in a certain area.
  • Cluster Strike – Laser bombardment by jets
  • Cruise Missile – Sounds like your usual Predator Missile from past CODs.
  • UAV – Standard UAV that will give your entire team access to the mini map, and will ping enemies.
  • Precision Airstrike – From what was shared, sounds like your standard Lightning Strike reward.
  • Wheelson” – Small remote controlled tank – Think Cerberus from Black Ops 4
  • Chopper – Will let you board a chopper and fire its turrets manually
  • Chopper Support – AI will kill targets for you
  • Advanced UAV – Gives access to mini map, pings targets and shows which direction they’re looking at (similar to VSAT),
  • White Phosphorous – Chemical drop targeted by player
  • Bradley Tank – Two-man tank controlled by player, though it’s mentioned it will only be usable in “large maps.”
  • VTOL – Fighter jet that rains down hellfire on the map
  • Juggernaut – Said to be the highest killstreak reward in the game so far, and will give the player lots of added firepower and armor.

The leak also mentions that there will once again be a “Nuclear” reward granted at 25 straight kills, which if it’s like similar CODs, need to be killed via weapons and nothing else. It’s unknown currently whether triggering a Nuke will end the match or not.

Lastly, it was mentioned that there was also an AC-130 killstreak reward, which was called “Gunship” since Activision has yet to secure the license to use the AC-130 name. And there’s also the Pavelow, dubbed as the “Helio,” which should be familiar to COD fans as well.

Again, all the info here should be taken with a grain of salt, since none of it have been confirmed by Infinity Ward or Activision.

If this list is true, are you good with the killstreak rewards Infinity Ward has planned or do you want them to be a bit more inventive? Also, would reverting back to killstreaks make the game less team-oriented? Sound off and let us know in the comments.

First Paid World War Z Weapons DLC Skin Bundle Set for July, New Trailer Showcases Six Skulls Update

World War Z is set to receive some major content drop sometime within the month as developers Saber Interactive have revealed in their latest trailer.

In a accidentally published video (now taken down), which has been re-uploaded by a different YouTube channel, Saber details the latest free content, which is due to arrive this week. The team over at Saber Interactive has also revealed some of the future content ahead of their July/August release. First up is the World War Z weapons DLC skin bundle, which is slated to release sometimes this month. This will be the first paid DLC content the game will see, and as the name of the paid content suggests, will only be weapon skins, meaning no unfair pay-to-win mechanics.

In addition to this week’s update, we will continue to see the release of free content with what Saber calls a “big update” which is scheduled to include a large number of weapon variants, character skins and accessories which can all be unlocked through gameplay. Tied into this update is also the much anticipated weekly challenge mode, which was announced as part of their roadmap previously along with some difficulty modifiers.

Once the patch is live later this week, we’ll let our readers know.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Feature a New ADS Reload Mechanic

While there’s not a lot of info out regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer, we now know that Infinity Ward is introducing a new reload feature to the Call of Duty series, and that’s allowin players to reload even while aiming down sights (ADS).

In the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Intel post by Activision, Animation Director at Infinity Ward Mark Grigsby went on to speak out about how the team at IW have gone through great lengths to create a  new weapon animation system and even giving the gunplay animations a more “believable” feel to them. Among the lengthy post though, Gribsby detailed that with the improvements of animations being made to weapons, this gave them an opportunity to add some new gameplay features, one being the ability to reload as you aim down sights to remain on target at all times.

“One other thing we added this year is the ADS [Aiming Down Sight] reload. In the past, if you’re ADS, and you’re shooting and you reload, the weapon would go off to the side, and you’d have to retrain to get to your target. This time if you reload, it stays on the target, so you can stay in the battle.”

This would certainly be the first in the series to allow this at least across multiple weapons, seeing that Black Ops 4 does feature a weapon attachment for the Sniper Rifle known as Sight Loader, which allows players to reload their sniper rifle while aiming down sights.

In other Modern Warfare news, a new rumor has surfaced that states Infinity Ward is introducing battle royale in the game.
