Call of Duty Community Requesting Black Ops 4 Server Roadmap From Treyarch

In case you didn’t know, Treyarch encountered quite a bit of a snag with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and its player base, as it has been revealed that the servers gamers are playing on right now have been downgraded compared to the servers available during the beta. While Treyarch addressed the issue and said that it will be improved, it’s not enough for some people.

Related Reading: Here’s How the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Servers Stack Up Against Fortnite, Battlefield 1 & More

Over on Reddit, the Black Ops 4 community are now asking for Treyarch to be transparent and to lay down a Black Ops 4 server roadmap given that the studio has withheld some info regarding the network configuration update it has done.

[Request] Networking Enhancements – Detailed Information And Roadmap from r/Blackops4

In case you can’t see the Reddit post, here are some of the things Treyarch is requested to share:

  • what was the nature of the change? (i.e. tick-/simulation rate increased from 20Hz to 30Hz)
  • what is the change trying to achieve?
  • which platforms are affected by that change?
  • which regions are affected by that change?

While Treyarch has not responded to the call out, let’s hope the studio gives in even for a tiny bit since some users have reported worse experiences after this network “upgrade.”

Have you noticed any changes in Black Ops 4’s servers? Do you think Treyarch will cave in and share a roadmap and actual changes to the community?

Battlefield V Info for the Week Includes Another Q&A, Next Week’s Focus Will Be Maps, Tides of War

As part of DICE’s on-going communications with the player base, the studio does a weekly “debrief” of info that got revealed, and what’s set to come the following week.

Battlefield Global Community Manager Dan Mitre posted this week’s debrief, and it includes another Q&A, as well as the focus for next week, which will be more Tides of War info, and a look at the game’s maps.

First up, here are some of the need-to-know info that got announced this week.

DICE Unveils Battlefield V Roadmap for Tides of War, Battle Royale Coming March 2019

EA Outlines How to Play Battlefield V Early

EA Reveals “Guide” for Battlefield V Pre-Order & Game Edition Extras, Here’s How to Get Every Soldier Set

Coming Next Week

  • Video – Battlefield V Dev Talks #5: Tides of War – We sit down with DICE Developers as we discuss the Battlefield V live service.
  • Blog – The Progression System and Economy of Battlefield V – Learn about ranks, rewards, and the currencies of Battlefield V.
  • Focus – PC Week – More details on PC support including how to play, early access, and PC minimum and recommended specs.
  • Focus – The Maps of Battlefield V – We showcase the maps available at launch.
  • Blog Feedback – Battlefield V: Launch is Just the Beginning
    • Chapters
      • Will we see more chapters after the first three?
      • Ryan McArthur (Producer): The plan is to keep adding chapters throughout the multi-year live service we’ve committed to.
    • Weapons
      • Can you detail how many weapons we’ll get with each new chapter?
      • RM: It will depend on the chapter focus. We want to add new hardware to support the theme. We can’t commit to specific numbers yet. We will confirm numbers as we get closer the start of each season.
    • Vehicles
      • Can you detail how many new vehicles we’ll get with each new chapter?
      • RM: Same as above. We can’t commit to specific numbers yet. We will confirm numbers as we get closer to the start of each season.
    • Factions
      • Can you detail how many new Factions are introduced through the first 3 chapters?
      • RM: Battlefield V only has two factions (Axis/Allies) through the first chapters. We will add new cosmetics and hardware from various armies in each faction and will provide more detail as we get close to the launch of that content.
    • Maps
      • Will every new location drop one or two new maps? Such as, does Belgium get 2 new maps with its Grand Operations? Does Greece get two new maps with its Grand Operations?
      • RM: Players will get one map currently for the ones we have planned (Belgium and Greece). We’ll provide more details about Grand Operations attached as we get closer to launching the content.
      • How many maps are being introduced throughout the first 3 chapters?
      • RM: You will get two: Panzerstorm in Chapter 1 and Greece in Chapter 3.
    • Modes
      • Can we get any more details on what to expect with Squad Conquest?
      • David Sirland (Producer): If you’ve played 16 player conquest in Battlefield 2, or liked playing 8v8 in BF4, this is the mode for you. A smaller, slower paced, more tactical 2x squad vs 2x squad mode including one specific vehicle per side and layout.
      • Will Grand Operations be available at launch?
      • DS: Yes, all our locations will have their respective Grand Operations available at launch (4 total).
      • Can you explain how the new Grand Operations for the second chapter will work if we only received one additional map at this point?
      • DS: With the flexible system in place for Grand Operations, we will be able to do cool stuff here. We’ll get into more details on exactly what this means, and what it changes in terms of gameplay as we get closer to it.
    • Netcode
      • What tickrate are servers launching with?
      • DS: PC: 60hz, Console 30hz.
  • Blog Feedback – Pre-Order Battlefield V and Outfit Your Company
    • Origin Access Premier
      • I already have Origin Access Premier. Does that count as a pre-order? Do I get the Enlister Offer extras or do I have pre-order Battlefield V specifically to get those?
      • RM: Yes!
    • Sets
      • When will we get a sneak peek at the Paratrooper sets?
      • Dan Mitre (Global Community Manager): Working on it! We’ll get you a screenshot of what to expect soon.
      • If I have Origin Access Premier for 1 month, what happens to the skins I had access to? Do I get to keep the skins or am I “renting” them out?
      • RM: Once you have the items in your inventory they are yours.
    • Airlift Items
      • I still don’t understand how that 20 weekly items will work. Does that mean we’ll have access to 20 new items every week? Or just 1 item for 20 weeks?
      • RM: You will get one item each week, for 20 weeks.

Same as before, check back here on MP1st for the latest Battlefield V news.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Hacks Are Now on Consoles and Here’s Proof (Update)

Update:

It seems what we see below is not an actual hack but an exploit of the Skulker perk being stacked. Word of caution though, Treyarch has mentioned that penalties will be levied for those who use it. Here’s what Treyarch had to say about it (via Reddit):

Lastly, before we dig into today’s full notes: we are currently tracking players implementing an exploit that allows multiple copies of the same Perk to be equipped in Multiplayer. We are clearing those players’ Create-a-Class entries as a warning and will be banning repeat offenders after this point. This exploit will be resolved in an upcoming update.

Console Black Ops 4 gamers, no hacks yet, but don’t use any exploits since Treyarch is watching, alright?

Original Story:

One of the things console gamers have over against PC players is that it’s supposed to be much, much harder to cheat in multiplayer games given the closed platform consoles have. I’m not talking about cheating by using a keyboard and mouse, but actual cheating. Well, it seems Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hacks have found their way into the PS4, and there’s proof of it too.

Thanks to Reddit user , we get to see a video of someone playing with what looks to be super speed, and their character is even crouched while doing it!

Hopefully, Treyarch sees this and nips it in the bud fast. If you find any other cheaters on Black Ops 4 on Xbox One and PS4, don’t forget to let us know via tips@mp1st.com!

As we prepare for the launch of Battlefield™ V on November 20, we wanted to celebrate the players who love Battlefield by giving them opportunities to unlock various rewards while experiencing the best of Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4.

Over the course of the summer, we’re giving away expansions from both Battlefield 1and Battlefield 4 to base game owners for free*. Battlefield 1 players can also earn gear for later use in Battlefield V, such as an exclusive paratrooper gear and weapon skins.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Game Settings Stuck Fix Outlined and It’s Super Easy

Since launch, Treyarch has been rather generous when it comes to updating Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 via server-side hotfixes. While most of the time it goes over without a hitch, there’s bound to be an instance where it might show Black Ops 4 game settings stuck screen.

Fortunately for you, we’ve encountered it and there’s a way to remedy it, and it’s super easy! This Black Ops 4 game settings stuck fix doesn’t involve any technical know-how whatsoever, too. If you see the “downloading” screen refresh itself after a few percent has been downloaded, and seems to be in a loop, just turn off your console, change your connection Wi-FI (or wired if it’s in Wi-FI), run the “set up internet connection” feature in your console’s system setttings, connect again, and that’s it! It should let you connect normally again. Note that this works the other way around too. If your console is connected to the net via Wi-Fi, use a LAN cable, run the necessary steps in order for your console to recognize the connect, boot up the game and it should work normally again.

Hopefully, this will resolve one of the technical issues you might encounter when connecting Black Ops 4 online.

Got another method to fix it? Share it in the comments and we can even add it in the article and credit you for it.

EA Reveals “Guide” for Battlefield V Pre-Order & Game Edition Extras, Here’s How to Get Every Soldier Set

If you’ve already decided that you’re getting Battlefield V, you might be wondering what you can get for pre-ordering the game. Thanks to EA, we now have a “guide” for all the extras that come with the different editions of Battlefield V.

There’s the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition and the Battlefield V Standard Edition, and both editions will get the Enlister Offer, which includes six Paratrooper Sets, the Firestorm Ranger set, in-game Assignments and more.

At launch, the Deluxe Edition will grant players 20 weekly items with Airlifts, and if you have Battlefield 1, tackle the Road to Battlefield V missions to unlock two additional Paratrooper sets!

Pre-order and Deploy with the Battlefield V Enlister Offer

The Battlefield V Enlister Offer is for all players who pre-order Battlefield V or the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition. Players get extra soldier customization options, as well as access to Special Assignments and their rewards, starting the week of launch. Enlist today and get:

  • Paratrooper Outfit: Once Battlefield V launches, choose one of eight Special Soldier Sets available in the game to customize your troops
  • Firestorm Ranger Set: Usable across multiple modes, you’ll get to wear this custom look, inspired by Battlefield V‘s battle royale mode, Firestorm
  • Special Assignments: Earn rewards and get an edge over the competition when you complete Special Assignments
  • Immediate Access to Five Battlefield 1 Weapons: Unlock some of the Great War’s most modern weapons for use in Battlefield 1, as you bridge the interwar period on the road to Battlefield V.

Battlefield V Deluxe Edition

For players that want to enter Battlefield V early and with more outfits, customization items, and Special Assignments, let me introduce you to the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition. Pre-order it and get the above extras from the Enlister Offer, plus:

  • Early Access to the Battlefield V Base Game on November 15: Be among the first to dictate the fight and play the Battlefield V base game
  • Five Sets of Paratrooper Outfits: Choose Special Soldier Sets from the eight available when deploying as the British Special Air Service or German Airborne troops
  • Special Assignments: Get rolling with Assignments inspired by the British Special Air Service’s true-to-life raids on German air bases, and ones based on the defense of airfields on the North African coastline by the German Fallschirmjäger troops, as well as Starter Assignments providing more ways to test your skills on the battlefield and earn rewards
  • 20 Weekly Items with Airlift: Receive vital supplies with 20 weekly Airlifts, each containing one customization item.

Finally, EA has listed down how you’ll be able to get all the Soldier Sets  that you can customize your Company with.

How to Get Every Soldier Set

There are a total of nine Soldier Sets you can use to customize your Company. Here’s how to get them all:

  • One Paratrooper Soldier Set is available when you pre-order either the Battlefield V Deluxe or Standard Edition
  • Five Paratrooper Soldier Sets are included as part of the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition
  • Earn two Battlefield V Soldier Tokens by playing Battlefield 1, as part of the final stage of the Road to Battlefield V. This is also the way to earn weapons skins for use in Battlefield V
  • Announced in September, the Firestorm Ranger Set is an additional pre-order bonus to drop into the battlefield with a tactical look inspired by the Firestorm — battle royale reimagined for Battlefield— and usable across multiple modes.
  • Or you can subscribe to Origin Access Premier for PC and get all this now, plus immediate access to EA’s growing library of games.

Confused? Hope not. Just get the version that you want and that’s it. Unless cosmetics are that important for you, then, in which case, go ahead and choose which version you want.

In other Battlefield V news, DICE has outlined the content roadmap for Battlefield V until 2019!

It seems there’s a good reason for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 downtime earlier today, as Treyarch has rolled out a new Black Ops 4 game settings update (server-side hotfix) and it’s live now on all platforms!

The list of changes today are minimal, but don’t fret, as the Black Market will be live tomorrow across all platforms with Operation: First Strike!

We’ve made the following updates to the game today (Global):

  • General
    • Miscellaneous
      • Added some missing translations for Black Market and Playlist tiles.
  • Zombies
    • Playlists
      • Created two new Public playlists: Classified and Blood of the Dead.
      • Removed Aether Playlist.

We’ve also made the following updates specific to PC:

  • Blackout
    • Resolved an exploit that allowed players to activate the Wingsuit frequently using a key from the numerical keypad.
    • Resolved an issue that allowed bullets to pass through certain rocks.
  • Multiplayer
    • Resolved an issue that caused a crash when changing weapon Decals in Paintshop.

On Saturday, the free Halloween Event content stream will be live across all platforms bringing with it spooky seasonal cosmetics!

Don’t forget to check out our top five guns in Black Ops 4’s multiplayer! Speaking of which, the first weapon tuning patch will be dropping next week according to Treyarch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Down and Servers Are Out

It seems there’s an issue with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, as the servers seem to be not working. Yes, multiplayer fans, Black Ops 4 down for undisclosed reasons. While I can confirm it’s happening currently on the PS4, it might be happening the same on PC and Xbox One.

Oddly enough, the Activision Support site mentions that all three versions of Black Ops 4 is working properly. The official Treyarch Twitter makes no mention of it as well. But a quick hop on the Black Ops 4 subreddit will show that it is indeed happening to a lot of people. You’ll see all the menus grayed out like in the image above.

Is this tied in to another network configuration update? Given that Treyarch has publicly mentioned that it will make changes when it was revealed that the Black Ops 4 servers were running at just 20hz tick rates, compared to the Black Ops 4 beta’s 60hz tick rate.

We’ve reached out to Activision and will update the post if and when we get a response. Once we know more, we’ll update the post as well.

In the meantime, go check out our review of Black Ops 4, we also wrote a feature on the top five best guns in the game currently, which might be obsolete once Treyarch does a weapon tuning pass this coming week.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Day One Patch Is Live, Clocks in at 3GB

As is the norm with games these days, Red Dead Redemption 2 will have a day one patch. It will weigh in at 3.3GB on PS4, and 3.2GB on Xbox One. While you can launch the game without the Red Dead 2 day one patch, it’s highly recommended that you do since it includes a host of bug fixes and the like.

The Day-One Title Update includes a range of across-the-board improvements and bug fixes for optimal performance. We strongly recommend making sure you have downloaded the Title Update before launching the game, to ensure the best possible gameplay experience.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now in some parts of the world (hello, Australia!), so this Red Dead 2 day one patch should be ready to be downloaded. In case you’re buying the game on disc (physical) don’t forget that it’ll take a long time for it to install.

Check out our Red Dead Redemption 2 review round up to see how the game is scoring with critics so far.

Any of you already out in the wild west? Please don’t post any spoilers, alright? We’ll get our review up soon, but not that soon.

PSA: Battlefield 1 on PSN Is Less Than $5 for North America

If you still haven’t bought Battlefield 1, then now might be the perfect time to do so even if Battlefield V is just a month out from release. Why? Well, there’s a Battlefield 1 PS4 sale on the North America PlayStation Store right now!

If you click the PlayStation Store link, it will direct you to the page where Battlefield 1 is only at $4.79 for the base game! Best hurry though, the deal only lasts until October 30, 2018. And yes, you’ll need an active PlayStation Plus membership to play online multiplayer.

Don’t forget that there’s a “Road to Battlefield V” weekly challenge in Battlefield 1, that when completed, will grant the player rewards for both BF1 and BFV! And it’s not a bad idea to get this just in case Battlefield V isn’t your cup of tea, right? At least you’ll have an alternative Battlefield game that still has a healthy player base.

In other Battlefield news, don’t forget to check out this clip of a DICE developer killing off enemies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 with awesome precision. It’s so awesome that he got banned for it!

For those playing Battlefield 1, how’s the player base so far?

Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Install Time Revealed and It’ll Take a Really Long Time

It’s known by now that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive game; it’s so massive that it’ll come in two discs, even. While we already know how big the game is in terms of data size, we also now know how long it’ll take to install all the game data to your PS4!

YouTuber GeekALoud seemingly has an early copy of the game, and livestreamed the entire installation process, and yeah, it will take a while. It’s going to take a long while! So long in fact, that you can watch an entire movie before it’s done! Nope, I’m not kidding. It’s close to an hour and 20+ minutes just to install the game via the “data” and “play” discs that it comes in!

Note that install time isn’t the same as the download size, so it shouldn’t matter how fast your internet speed is. Aside from the Red Dead 2 install time, there’s also a day one patch that’s around 3GB that players will need to download as well. Well, at least now you know, so maybe prep a movie to watch or go out for a bit or something before you get lost in Red Dead Redemption 2’s world.

In other Red Dead Redemption 2 news, Rockstar Games announced that a companion app will come on release day that will act as the game’s map, and display key info about the game! You can also check out the game map leaked in full right here if you want to see how big the land area is.

Set for release this Friday (tomorrow!), you can keep tabs on all our Red Dead Redemption 2 stories in the game’s hub page.

Players Can Now Purchase Ships in Star Citizen Using In-Game Currency

If you’ve been following Star Citizen closely (or even from a distance) over the last few months, there’s no doubt you’ll be aware of the controversies surrounding “Macro” transactions.

Players have been able to purchase ships in order to support the game since the kickstarter began in 2014 – with some of the more expensive items clocking in at thousands of dollars.

With the latest update to the PTU (Public Test Universe) it is now possible to purchase ships directly through in-game stores, with currency earned in the game.

New Features

Universe
  • Activated Teach’s Ship Shop functionality.
You can purchase a ship via interacting with ships on the shop floor (similar to store displays). Ships on the shop floor can be opened, explored, but not flown. Players have been given additional funds to test this feature.
The new patch also focuses on some technical improvements to the Face Over IP (FOIP) system already implemented into the game, which allows players to use a webcam in order to track and record their faces, then translating that into the game.
