More Battlefield Cut Content Compiled & Discussed in New Video

YouTube user DANNYonPC is back with a compilation of more Battlefield cut content. Previously, he showcased eight curious “scrapped features.” This time around, we have twelve features that never saw the light of launch day.

Give the video below a watch, and listen out for the reasons behind the abandonments:

Some of these features were scrapped because of time constraints, last-gen hardware limitations and minimum PC specs. While it’s a shame that these aren’t included in current games, it makes me excited for the future of Battlefield. The ideas are certainly there; it’s just a case of waiting for the hardware to catch up. Hopefully the tech will have caught up for next year’s release!

What do you think of these scrapped features? Hope to see some of them in future games? Let us know.

For more Battlefield cut content, be sure to check out the previous video found here.

In other Battlefield news, here’s how you can still play Battlefield 2 and 2142 online, take a look at Battlefield 1 Revision 59 Battlepacks, and Battlefield 2018 has been strongly hinted at by EA, and is set to launch between April 2018 and March 2019

New Destiny 2 Token Farming Route Is Fastest Method Yet

With Bungie having removed the previous Lost Sector method of farming Tokens, the more hardcore Destiny 2 players have been searching for an alternative way of grinding out the rewards.

Happily, for those who want to rapidly rank up their Faction Rallies representative, a new method has been found and demonstrated by YouTube user xHoundishx.

This extremely quick farming method can produce over 500 Tokens per hour! Check it out below:

If you’re unable to watch the video, or just want a text summary, Reddit user Cory-B provided the following:

For folks who can’t watch video:

  • Zone into Winding Cove on EDZ
  • Run a bit north and head down the hole into the Lost Sector
  • Defeat the boss, get the chest
  • Directly above the chest is a door that you can use to get back to the surface. As you’re walking up, as soon as you see the “Winding Cove” area load, turn around, head back to the chest, and you can loot it again. Back through the door, wait for “Winding Cove”, and back to the chest to loot again. Rinse and repeat this step.

The response from fellow players has been very positive, so it’s certainly working. Go grind it out before Bungie fixes it!

In other Destiny 2 news, the Curse of Osiris expansion got a new trailer and release date, the upcoming expansion will also increase the level cap, and the Destiny 2 Raid was beaten by a clan of deaf gamers

Call of Duty: WWII Nuke Revealed, Here’s How You Earn It

Call of Duty: WWII does indeed feature a “nuke” scorestreak! It comes in the form of the V2 Rocket, which kills every single enemy. Whenever a nuke features in a Call of Duty game, community members often go wild with attempts to earn it in the fastest way possible, or earn as many as possible.

Here’s footage of the V2 Rocket in action:

And here are the requirements:

Prestige all 5 Divisions at least once to gain access to the V2 Rocket Killstreak.

You are on your way to earning the V2 Rocket. Once you’ve prestiged all 5 Divisions you will gain access to the 25-Killstreak.

“Simply” get 25 non-Scorestreak kills without dying to earn it.

Now you know it’s possible, will you be aiming for the ultimate scorestreak? Remember that only gun kills count, so consider using non-lethal scorestreaks to assist you in avoiding death!

In other Call of Duty news, Sledgehammer Games has blamed the WWII server issues on the “extremely high volume of players,” WWII sales in the UK are  “significantly higher” than Infinite Warfare resulting in 21% higher revenue, and WWII microtransactions are coming next week and will be used to buy Supply Drops.

Sledgehammer Games Cites “Extremely High Volume of Players” as Cause for Call of Duty: WWII Servers Issues

It’s no secret that the Call of Duty: WII servers had a lot of issues at launch and even during the weekend.  Today, Sledgehammer Games has issued a statement explaining the massive server issues COD: WWII has faced the past few days.

Check out an excerpt of the message below.

Thank you for your incredible ongoing support of Call of Duty: WWII. We are humbled by the response we’ve received from the Call of Duty community. Since launch, we have been working hard around the clock to optimize the experience for everyone and have made a series of updates to address issues over the last 48 hours.

At launch, we experienced an extremely high volume of players connecting to our servers in a very short window. This resulted in players experiencing mixed online connectivity across all platforms. In response, we pushed a change enabling higher capacity load balancers, resulting in improved live connectivity. In addition, we made HQ a solo experience, and deactivated Leaderboard updates in the short term. This has resulted in improved live connectivity and the best in-match experience for fans. The game is stable and network performance is strong across all platforms. If you experience any issues online, please reach out to @ATVIAssist for support. Headquarters will return to its fully-populated, shared experience shortly. In the meantime, you can invite your friends to join your HQ experience at any time. Also, rest assured, your leaderboard stats are being recorded and stored, and leaderboard data will be reflected soon.

Additionally, those who lost their multiplayer progression, don’t be upset as Sledgehammer has said that they are “committed” to making it up to the affected people. If I had to wager a guess, maybe a few Supply Drops or something similar?

Hopefully, this is the last of the server issues for COD: WWII. Given its success out of the gate at retail, I doubt players would be happy to experience another server outage again this soon.

For more on Call of Duty: WWII, check out our newly-published Airborne guide, we also pushed out a video showcasing how you can put five attachments in one gun.

Microsoft First-Party Games Could Appear on Other Platforms According to Xbox Boss

While a game owned and published Microsoft (Minecraft) has already appeared on other gaming platforms (PlayStation 4, Vita, etc.), it seems more could be on the way at some point.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Xbox division boss Phil Spencer mentions that his new role within the Microsoft family is to reach more gamers on any device, rather than using “gaming to make Windows more successful.”

According to the interview, Spencer means this as Microsoft could, one day, have first-party games appear on other platforms like Sony’s PS4, Apple devices and more. Interestingly, Spencer also mentions that the company (Microsoft) is more focused on growing game software and services (Xbox Live) rather than just console hardware sales.

Does this mean we’ll see Xbox games on the PS4 anytime soon? Probably not, but if it does ever happen during the PS5 era, don’t be surprised.

Would you want Microsoft games to appear on other platforms or would that defeat the purpose of owning an Xbox?

Call of Duty: WWII Airborne Division Tips and Guide

While we’ve already posted an article where we help beginning players out in Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer, we’re now diving into each class! For this one, we’ll be taking a look at COD: WWII’s SMG class, the Airborne Division.

In this quick class guide, we talk about general tactics, what guns to use and for what scenario and more. Think of it as a beginner’s guide of the Division along with a few handy tips for vets.

General Tactics:

  • Use submachine guns since you’ll most likely be running and gunning a lot.
  • Equip the suppressor since the damage fall-off range is significantly lower than in past Call of Duty titles, and remember: firing it suppressed will keep you hidden in the mini map
  • Do not tangle with other players in long range engagements unless absolutely necessary.
  • Take advantage of being able to sprint longer, faster and more frequently (once you’ve leveled up the Division rank) to flank snipers, assault rifle users.
  • If playing Domination, do not be afraid to go around the B flag and try to catch the enemy team unaware in their spawn area (run to the opposing flag but don’t cap it until you see and hear the in-game prompt that tthe enemy is capping B or your home flag),

Example:

https://twitter.com/excaliburps/status/927437836105551872

  • Use gun attachments that play to your strengths (ie: equip Advanced Rifling if you tend to engage in medium to long range gunfights using an SMG, Extended Mag if you always tend to use up a ton of ammo, etc.)
  • Do not be shy in running away from engagements that you know you can’t win. If you see an assault rifle user or sniper, don’t engage, but flank them and shoot them up close to mitigate the damage drop off and capitalize on your SMG’s rate of fire.
  • Once you’ve unlocked the “Flanker” Basic Training (it’s essentially the Ghost perk in past CODs), you’ll be able to run and gun without worry of UAVs.

Which Weapon to Use?

Note that these are all suggestions and should not be taken as fact.

This depends on your play style generally. For those who prefer engaging in medium range with their SMGs, the Type 100 should be your go-to weapon. The Type 100 is easily my favorite SMG, and one I constantly see being used due to its versatility. You can compensate for its relatively slow fire rate with the Rapid Fire attachment to make sure it has no weakness at all.

If you prefer to run and gun, and be in your enemy’s face, then the PPSH-41 might be a good fit for you given it’s large magazine size and above average fire rate. Just be careful of that recoil, though!

Finally, for an all around SMG, you can’t go wrong with the Grease Gun given its low recoil, and ease of use.

Which Basic Training to Equip?

Again, this is due to personal preference, but I find the “Hustle” Basic Training super useful given you go through a magazine super fast, and will need to reload in the heat of combat. Couple this with your suppressor and you’ll be mowing down enemies in no time.

You can also choose to use the “Rifleman” Basic Training so you can equip a long range weapon to go along with your SMG.

For the full list of Basic Training Perks check here.

Prestige Basic Training

Once you Prestige the Airborne Division, you’ll get the “Energetic” Basic Training unlocked right away. If you really want to blaze through the map, and constantly be running, then this is perfect for you. You can cross the map halfway with non-Energetic users still in their spawn zone. Effect for flankers, but not so much for “turtle” players.

Prestige Weapon

Once you Prestige your Airborne Division, you’ll gain access to the MP-40 SMG. It behaves like the Grease Gun though with a better fire rate but more erratic recoil pattern. It’s definitely a viable option for SMG users.

That’s it for our quick Airborne Division guide! Stay tuned to our other Division guides coming this week! We want to play the game enough to write about it, and not just give out suggestions that are unproven.

Call of Duty: WWII Sales in the UK “Significantly Higher” Than Infinite Warfare, 21% Higher Revenue

While Call of Duty nabbing the top spot in weekly sales charts are nothing new, the comparison to last year’s version is quite interesting to say the least. According to GfK Chart-Track, Call of Duty: WWII sales are “significantly higher” than that of Infinity Ward’s Infinite Warfare

Week 1 sales of ‘WWII’ are significantly higher than ‘IW’, in fact some 57% higher in units and 21% higher in revenue (last year sales on Legacy / Legacy Pro editions were substantial, which is why overall ASP last year was significantly higher). Ubisoft’s ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’ drops from a debut at No1 to No2 this week, followed at No3 by EA’s ‘FIFA 18’. Nintendo drop 2 places to No4 with Switch ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ and Sony’s PS4 ‘Gran Turismo Sport’ remains at No5. The only other new entry within the Top 40 is Focus Home Interactive’s ‘Spintires: Mudrunner’ debuting at No24 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Note that these are for physical sales only. The PS4 version has managed to take the lion share of sales with a 57 percent share while the Xbox One had 42 percent (remaining is for PC). Take a look at the top 10 below.

Last Week This Week Title
New Entry 1 Call of Duty: WWII
1 2 Assassin’s Creed Origins
3 3 FIFA 18
2 4 Super Mario Odyssey
5 5 Gran Turismo Sport
4 6 Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
12 7 Forza Motorsport 7
11 8 Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
15 9 Forza Horizon 3
9 10 Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Stay tuned to NPD’s sales report to come in, so we’ll know how well Call of Duty: WWII did in the US; though don’t be surprised if its similar to the UK numbers.

Call of Duty: WWII – One Gun, Five Attachments Guide

This time on Pixel Enemy, I’ve put together a quick guide on how to equip five attachments to a single gun in Call of Duty: WWII

Click “play” on the video below to give it a watch, and be sure to leave any thoughts of your own in the comments below.

This is Mack, for Pixel Enemy, here with some Call of Duty: WWII action. While Sledgehammer Games has really refined the customization system, making it a little more limited than the previous Pick 10 way of doing things, it’s still possible to pimp your gun out with five attachments.

In fact, in Call of Duty: WWII, it’s a viable tactic that I use a lot, especially in the War mode.

You’ll need to combine the Infantry Division and Primed Basic Training perk to boost your attachment count up to five. The first is the rifle bayonet which is already equipped, and then you can choose four other attachments.

Note that this only works with the rifle as the bayonet won’t be equipped to any other weapon.

I’ll give a special shout-out to the Primed Basic Training perk, which not only allows for an additional primary weapon attachment, but also reduces flinch when hit by enemy fire. The flinch in this game is pretty damn severe, and so Primed is one of my go-tos.

Steam Survey Reveals the Most Popular OS Among Gamers

Windows 10 might be the hot new OS with “Game Mode” features and all that jazz, but it’s no longer the most popular OS among Steam users. In October’s Steam hardware and software survey, it was revealed that Windows 7 64-bit was now king.

What’s the reason for this? Well, it turns out that it’s mostly down to Chinese players wanting in on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. With Windows 7 remaining extremely popular in China, and Windows 10 actually being banned from government systems, the influx of Chinese Steam users means the OS’ figures have been given a boost. The language stats also reflect this, with more Chinese-speaking people starting to use the service.

So that’s mostly down to PUBG! What an effect that game is having!

Steam Spy recently shared this tweet showing the number of PUBG players organized by geography:

What OS are you using? If it isn’t Windows 10, tell us why in the comments below!

Destiny 2 Update Now Live, Addresses “Hitching Issues” Caused by Previous Hotfix

A new Destiny 2 update is now rolling out on PC. It’s hotfix 1.0.6.2 which aims to fix the “hitching issues” brought on by the previous hotfix (1.0.6.1). This hotfix will not be coming to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Here’s the details, straight from Bungie:

Fixed an issue, introduced with 1.0.6.1 patch, causing periodic hitches during gameplay for some players

Destiny 2 on PC will receive Hotfix 1.0.6.2 on Monday, November 6, 2017.

  • Once the Hotfix is available, PC players may be returned to the login screen to take the Hotfix after completing their current activity
  • PC players may need to close and restart Destiny 2 to take the Hotfix
  • Players may encounter Error Code Sheep if they attempt to form a Fireteam with someone who has not yet taken the Hotfix
  • Destiny 2 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles will not be receiving this patch.

Let us know if the “hitching issues” stop with this hotfix in the comments below. I’ve not had any problems myself, but I know a few squadmates who have been experiencing stutters.

Intel and AMD Combine Forces for New Processor

So, this is a thing! Intel and AMD are combining forces to bring “thinner, lighter, more powerful enthusiast mobile platforms that deliver a premium experience.” The ultimate goal here is to reduce the height of systems that currently use Intel Core H-series processors in addition to higher-powered discrete graphics solutions. A smaller form factor, while remaining powerful, is the target.

Intel spoke about the partnership:

The new product, which will be part of our 8th Gen Intel Core family, brings together our high-performing Intel Core H-series processor, second generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2) and a custom-to-Intel third-party discrete graphics chip from AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group* – all in a single processor package.

And AMD had this to say:

Our collaboration with Intel expands the installed base for AMD Radeon GPUs and brings to market a differentiated solution for high-performance graphics,” said Scott Herkelman, vice president and general manager, AMD Radeon Technologies Group. “Together we are offering gamers and content creators the opportunity to have a thinner-and-lighter PC capable of delivering discrete performance-tier graphics experiences in AAA games and content creation applications. This new semi-custom GPU puts the performance and capabilities of Radeon graphics into the hands of an expanded set of enthusiasts who want the best visual experience possible.

It’s cool to see the two competitors coming together like this. However, I’m curious about AMD’s decision to do this, what with its own mobile platform launching soon…
